50 Years Ago, Two Outlaw Country Legends Recorded Two Classics in One Day
Some of country music's most memorable moments happen on stage. Others happen quietly behind studio doors. On July 6, 1976, two of the genre's biggest icons, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, came together at Cash's House of Cash Studios in Hendersonville, Tenn., to record two songs that would become lasting reminders of country music's outlaw movement: "There Ain't No Good Chain Gang" and "I Wish I Was Crazy Again."
By the mid-1970s, both artists had already cemented themselves as leading voices in country music, each known for pushing beyond Nashville's traditional expectations. Jennings had become one of the faces of the outlaw country movement, while Cash's unmistakable voice and rebellious spirit had made him one of the genre's most influential stars.
Their July 1976 recording session brought those two forces together.
"There Ain't No Good Chain Gang" paired the pair's rugged vocals on a song about regret, consequences and hard-earned wisdom; subjects both singers had explored throughout their careers.
Released the following year, the duet climbed into the Top 10 on the country charts and remains one of the best-known collaborations between the two legends.
During the same session, Jennings and Cash also recorded "I Wish I Was Crazy Again," another reflective duet that showcased the easy chemistry they shared in the studio.
The recordings arrived during a defining period for outlaw country, a movement that emphasized artistic freedom over the polished "Nashville Sound" dominating much of country radio. Artists like Jennings and Cash helped reshape the genre by embracing grittier storytelling, more personal songwriting and greater creative control over their music.
Although each man had already enjoyed enormous solo success, their collaboration demonstrated why they were so often mentioned together whenever the era's biggest names were discussed. Their distinct voices complemented one another, creating performances that felt conversational rather than competitive.

Beloved '90s Rom-Com Queen, 58, Marks 24 Years of Marriage With a Rare Selfie
Julia Roberts rarely lets fans into her personal life, so a new post this weekend caught them off guard.
On July 4, the actress marked 24 years of marriage to cinematographer Danny Moder with a rare selfie on Instagram, leaning close to her husband. Her caption ran just two words, split by a red heart: "TWENTY FOUR."
View this post on Instagram A Fourth of July WeddingRoberts and Moder married on July 4, 2002, at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico. The date means their anniversary always lands on the holiday, a quiet celebration for one of Hollywood's most guarded couples. They met on the set of The Mexican and have been together ever since, a rare run of stability in an industry where it is anything but common. She marked their 23rd anniversary in 2025 the same quiet way.

A Rare Look at a Private MarriageThe couple share three children: twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, born in 2004, and son Henry, born in 2007. Roberts, 58, has spoken often about keeping her family out of the spotlight, which is exactly why a post like this one stands out. She tends to save her Instagram for causes and the occasional romantic throwback, not personal milestones.
The Erin Brockovich Oscar winner and Pretty Woman icon has spent decades as one of the most famous women on the planet while saying remarkably little about her marriage. Fans filled the comments with congratulations within minutes. For a star who protects her private life as fiercely as Roberts does, two words and a selfie said plenty.
What Penélope Cruz Just Revealed About Her 16-Year Marriage May Surprise You
Don't listen to the haters. This is one celebrity relationship that lasts.
Penélope Cruz has been married to fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem for 16 years — and they've known each other for much longer than that.
In a new interview while out promoting her comedy The Invite, the beloved actress, 52, shared candidly about their rapport after tying the knot and bringing two kids into the world. And what she said to People might surprise you.
"I feel like I'm still learning [in my relationship], you know? And I am with somebody that I've known for 33 years," Cruz told the magazine in an article published Saturday, July 4. “I really know that person, but it's like, is there a day where you really get to know yourself? No. So the same with your partner."
Her new movie, directed by Olivia Wilde, is a prime example of couples "learning" things about each other. Cruz also told People that The Invite, which centers on the relationship dynamics of two couples at a dinner party, is so relatable because so many people are still discovering new things about their partners — regardless of how long they've been together.
In another recent interview to promote the film, Cruz revealed something else surprising about herself: “For the last 12 years, I study medicine every night of my life,” she told The New Yorker.
The actress shared she reads “books that are this thick about the endocrine system and stuff like that makes me so happy, so happy, and every night probably, I don’t know, five, six days a week for the last 12 years, I’ve been reading that for hours every night. And I love it. And I cannot explain why I love it.”
In the group interview, Wilde, 42, shared her unique hobby as well.
“It’s not that obscure, I love miniatures. I’m a miniac,” said the actress and filmmaker, adding that she has a miniature version of the original Seinfeld set.
1972 Rock Classic, Named No. 1 Hit Song, Became a Timeless Motivational Anthem
Some songs entertain. Others help define an era.
Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman" did both. Released in 1972, the empowering anthem became the Australian singer’s breakthrough hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a permanent place in pop culture. More than 50 years later, its message of resilience and self-belief continues to resonate with listeners around the world.
The song was born out of frustration.
After struggling to find music that reflected the growing women’s movement, Reddy decided to write one herself. Teaming with songwriter Ray Burton, she created "I Am Woman" as an anthem celebrating strength, perseverance and equality, hoping to give women a song they could truly call their own.
"It came to me and it wouldn't leave me," Reddy told Houston Public Media in 2014. "It was simply a phrase that — over and over, 'I am strong, I am invincible, I am woman.' And I thought, well, this has to be a song."
The message struck a chord almost immediately.
"I Am Woman" climbed steadily before reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Reddy the first Australian-born artist to top the chart. The song also earned her the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, cementing her status as one of the decade’s biggest stars.
Its influence quickly extended beyond radio.
As the women's liberation movement gained momentum during the early 1970s, "I Am Woman" became closely associated with marches, rallies and celebrations of women's achievements. Although Reddy wrote it from a personal perspective rather than as a political statement, the song evolved into one of the defining cultural touchstones of the era.
"I couldn't find any songs that said what I thought being woman was about," Reddy said in a 2003 interview. "I thought about all these strong women in my family who had gotten through the Depression and world wars and drunken, abusive husbands. But there was nothing in music that reflected that. I certainly never thought of myself as a songwriter, but it came down to having to do it."
Over the decades, its message has continued to find new audiences. "I Am Woman" has appeared in films, television shows and documentaries while being covered and referenced by numerous artists. Its iconic chorus remains instantly recognizable, continuing to inspire listeners with its message of confidence and determination.
The song also transformed Reddy's career. Following its success, she went on to score a string of additional hits, including "Delta Dawn," "Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress)" and "Angie Baby," becoming one of the most successful pop artists of the 1970s.
More than 50 years after it topped the Billboard Hot 100, "I Am Woman" remains far more than a chart-topping hit. It endures as one of popular music’s greatest motivational anthems, proving that a song rooted in hope and empowerment can inspire generations long after its original release.

Cristiano Ronaldo Confirms 2026 FIFA World Cup Will Be His Final Tournament
It's the end of an era for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking to the press on Sunday, July 5, ahead of Portugal's Round of 16 game against Spain on Monday, the soccer superstar, 41, confirmed that this year's World Cup will be his last, marking his final appearance with the Portuguese national team.
"It's about enjoying it as much as possible," Ronaldo said, per ESPN. "This will be my last World Cup, but let's hope tomorrow isn't my last game."
"The day will come [when I retire from international football]. But I'll be honest: whatever happens tomorrow, Cristiano will leave with a clear conscience—100%, no, 1,000%. Because I've given everything in football," he continued.
While Ronaldo's future at the 2026 World Cup, as well as with the Portuguese national team, depends on Monday's game, the sports legend said his love of football remains, adding that he's proud of his showing at the tournament thus far.
View this post on Instagram"I don't need it; I have a good life, but it's about passion," Ronaldo, who has played in six editions of the tournament — including 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026 — said of the sport. "I play football because I love it... You have to enjoy every day. And I've scored three goals [at this World Cup], I'm not doing too badly, right?"
He's already made history, becoming the first player to score in six World Cups after landing two goals in the back of the net against Uzbekistan in the group stage. Ronaldo also scored a penalty during the team's Round of 32 match against Croatia, marking his first goal in a World Cup knockout game.
"It's been fantastic," he added of this year's tournament, which has long been rumored to be the sportsman's final World Cup run. "It goes beyond the pitch... This is the World Cup I'll remember the most because of people's passion. It's even more this time; I don't know why. It's been, emotionally, the best. I've enjoyed it very much."
"I'm not lacking anything in life," Ronaldo went on to say as he reflected on his decades-long soccer career. "I'm not going to be more or less Cristiano because I win the World Cup. We have the qualities to win, but only one country can win it... Age gives you maturity and experience."
Ronaldo, who joined Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr FC in 2023, with a contract that will keep him with the team through the summer of 2027, said he's thankful for it all, even the criticism he's received both on and off the pitch.
"I'm thankful even for the attacks I receive, turning 40 — and I hope to live another 40 years — with the criticism, that's how you grow the most as a person, and I thank you journalists for that," Ronaldo concluded.
Iconic '90s Trading Card Craze Turns 30 as Its 'Holy Grail' Sells for a Record $16.5 Million
A booster pack of Pokémon cards once cost just a few dollars.
In February 2026, a single Pokémon card sold for $16.492 million. The Pokémon Trading Card Game turns 30 this year, and the anniversary lands right in the middle of the biggest collecting boom the hobby has ever seen.
A Record-Breaking Year for a Childhood Card GameThe crown jewel is the Pikachu Illustrator, a 1998 Japanese promo handed out to winners of a CoroCoro Comic art contest. Just 39 official copies exist, and only one ever earned a perfect PSA 10 grade. Influencer and boxer Logan Paul bought that card in July 2021 for $5.275 million, then sold it in February 2026 for $16.492 million. Guinness World Records certified it as the most valuable trading card on the planet.
It was not the only jaw-dropper. A rare Japanese Base Set Charizard, long the most coveted card in the hobby, cleared $1.7 million in March. The cardboard monsters a lot of us once traded at recess now move like fine art.
Pokémon's 30th Anniversary PlansThe Pokémon Company is leaning all the way in. Its 30th Celebration expansion arrives worldwide on September 16, the first time a Pokémon TCG set has launched simultaneously across the globe. Every booster pack includes one of 30 different Pikachu foil cards, each drawn by a separate artist. A Pokémon Day 2026 collection is already rolling out with a stamped anniversary Pikachu and a commemorative coin.
Thirty years in, the little pocket monsters that started as a schoolyard trade have become some of the most valuable collectibles in the world. Somewhere, a parent is looking at that shoebox in the closet a little differently.
Trump’s New Faux Photo of Barack and Michelle Obama Sparks Immediate Backlash
Donald Trump’s AI images just won’t quit. Last week, the president posted a faux infomercial-style ‘TDS’ PSA on social media. The video, which featured ‘Dr. Trump’ explaining the cure for TDS (avoid fake news, say your prayers, and drink a Diet Coke), included deepfake likenesses of A-list actors Rosie O’Donnell, John Leguizamo, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton, Robert De Niro, and Julia Roberts.
And now, Trump is back at it—sharing a clearly doctored photo of former POTUS Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obamaexiting a graffiti-covered Air Force One.
The new Truth Social post includes an obviously altered image of more than just the couple waving from the stairs on the plane.
In addition to the Obamas smiling for the press, the former president’s “Yes We Can” campaign rallying cry, “BLM,” and Arabic script (which translates to “praise be to God” or “thank God”) are ‘spraypainted’ across Air Force One’s exterior.
Along with the not-so-subtly racist undertones, the pretend pic also seems to take a jab at the former Air Force One. Trump's new over-the-top, opulent, retrofitted Qatari jet features the president's navy, red, and gold color palette, forgoing the traditional, trademark light blue hull. The mock version of Air Force One in Trump’s recent post is painted, of course, light sky blue.
What is the reaction to Donald Trump’s new Truth Social Obama post? It’s no secret that these posts are meant to get reactions and garner as much attention as possible. And this particular image generated an almost-immediate backlash.
One Redditor pointed out, “It’s been all these years and Obama still lives rent free in his head,” while another said the president, “can’t stop thinking about how much better the Obamas are than him at everything.”
Other Reddit users joked, “He just has Obama derangement syndrome” and “Great role model for kids, right?”
But the backlash didn't end there. Commenters pointed out, “Dude cares more about attacking Obama than helping the American people” and, “Is he having these made, or is he tweeting out ones he sees? I’m not sure which would be worse. Probably both simultaneously.”
This isn't the first Trump-versus-Obama faux post to cause a major firestorm for the president. In February, Trump shared a video that depicted the Obamas as cartoon apes. The clip was removed from social media after critics, including some top Republicans, slammed it as “unacceptable.”

Bunnie Xo Reveals She's Headed to College Weeks After Jelly Roll Breakup
Bunnie Xo has some big plans for her life post–Jelly Roll marriage.
The Dumb Blonde podcast host, 46, took to her Instagram Stories on July 3, where she revealed she has been accepted into Arizona State University.
"Dr. Xo, loading?" she wrote over a screenshot of the school's acceptance message.
While Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, did not share what she plans to study, the exciting update comes just weeks after she and the "Save Me" singer, 41, decided to call it quits after 10 years of marriage.
Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from the influencer on May 18 in Tennessee, citing "irreconcilable differences." Though Bunnie did not confirm the news until a few weeks later, she said on a June 18 episode of her podcast that she was "so relieved" to finally be able to say her piece.
"[Jelly Roll] and I are getting a divorce. Okay, nobody cry, nobody f–king get upset. It's happening," Bunnie told her listeners. "We did a f–king great job, it'll never be replicated again, but our future is so much more important, and being happy and healthy, and best friends through this is probably, I think, the biggest gift that we could have given each other."
While their romance may be over, the pair, who tied the knot in 2016, plan to remain in each other's lives and even plan to try for a baby after previously embarking on an IVF journey.
"That's my f–king best friend, dude. Like, I love him," she said. "And you guys are going to be shocked to hear this, but we're still having a baby. We have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered."
"We're going to co-parent together," Bunnie continued.
As for Jelly Roll, he's moving forward as well, with Bunnie sharing that her ex has already started dating since the split.
"Has my husband started dating? Yes, he has — and we're happy for him," Bunnie went on to reveal. "And I'm excited to discover myself single."
And while life may be taking them in different directions now that they're no longer together, Bunnie maintained that she will always be in the country music star's corner.
"He has always been my best friend, and I love that man more than life itself," she explained. "You guys have seen how I ride for that mofo. Even to this day, behind the scenes, your girl is still riding for that man — and I always will."

"Caught in the Act" Named the Best Modern Family Episode EverA recent ranking by Entertainment Weekly names "Caught in the Act" the best Modern Family episode ever. More than a decade after first airing, the Season 2, Episode 13 installment begins with Haley and Alex unexpectedly coming home and believing they've caught Claire and Phil in an awkward situation. What follows is a cascade of increasingly hilarious events as Gloria and Jay come over to retrieve a text accidentally sent to Claire, while the Dunphy kids try to make sense of what they think they've just witnessed.
The episode is a perfect showcase of the show's sharp writing, impeccable timing, relatable family dynamics, and a series of unfortunate misunderstandings that spiral into side-splitting comedy.
Here's more about why this episode ranks as the best of the iconic series:
"The Dunphy kids get permanently scarred in this tale of unlocked doors, parental anniversary sex, and a surprise breakfast-in-bed tray launching into the air amid screams of horror. While Phil and Claire panic, the kids flee the house in disgust before realizing that their parents still being in love isn't the worst thing… even if they didn't need visual proof.
In the end, they smile and nod their way through an awkward family discussion ("You talked to us on our level but without being condescending!") before gifting them the perfect anniversary present: a new deadbolt for their bedroom."
Why "Caught in the Act" Still Stands Out @varietymagazineJulie Bowen on a "Modern Family" reboot: "I'll be there...unless they replace me with Sydney Sweeney."
♬ original sound - Variety - VarietyWhat elevates "Caught in the Act" above so many other standout Modern Family episodes is its perfect balance of humor and heart. Claire and Phil's marriage has always been one of the emotional anchors of the series, and the episode celebrates the couple's enduring chemistry while also highlighting the uncomfortable, often hilarious realities of raising teenagers.
Parents can relate to the awkward challenge of trying to maintain a private life, while kids recognize the embarrassment of seeing their parents in an entirely new light. That universal family dynamic is what makes the episode resonate just as strongly today as it did when it first aired.
A Masterclass in Ensemble ComedyMore than the relatable situations and cringe-worthy comedy, the episode is also a reminder of the lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry shared by the show's ensemble cast, led by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell. Every misunderstanding builds naturally into the next, allowing each member of the family to shine while keeping the laughs coming from beginning to end.
Serving as a masterclass in ensemble comedy, "Caught in the Act" feels just as fresh to revisit today as it did the first time audiences watched it, proving why it continues to be regarded as one of the defining episodes of Modern Family.

Hannah Waddingham Reveals Whether She Thinks the Next James Bond Should Be a Woman
Hannah Waddingham is sharing her thoughts on one of Hollywood's most hotly debated casting questions.
While attending a special screening of her new Prime Video action-comedy series, Ride or Die, last month at London's Ham Yard Hotel, Waddingham, 51, was asked what she enjoys most about playing powerful women on screen.
"It's their truth. It's who they are in the quiet — that's what gets me first," Waddingham, who plays an assassin in the new series, told People of what attracts her to those roles. "[My] interest is piqued by who they are when they're alone, and the foibles and the fears and the aspirations they have when they're alone."
Waddingham also weighed in on the future of James Bond and shared whether she'd ever be interested in stepping into the shoes of the iconic MI6 operative.
"No! God, no!" the Ted Lasso star exclaimed, adding that Ride or Die is as close as it gets to Bond for her. "No, this is my version of 007."
In fact, she doesn't believe a woman needs to play Bond at all.
"A woman doesn't need to play James Bond — we've got other things to do," Waddingham quipped.
The conversation over who will step into the iconic role of James Bond has been swirling around Hollywood since Daniel Craig stepped away from the franchise following the release of his final film, No Time to Die, which premiered globally in October 2021.
And while Waddingham doesn't believe she has the license to kill, the official casting process for the next 007 is underway. Though no leading man has been confirmed for the part, several actors remain in contention.
Leading the rumor mill is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who has brushed off speculation when asked about the potential role.
"I can only really talk about the things I'm going to show and tell," Taylor-Johnson said in a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone UK. "So, The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I'm here to promote those."
While the Fuze star appears to be the frontrunner, he's far from the only actor linked to the coveted role. Jacob Elordi, Henry Cavill, and Paul Mescal have all been rumored for the part, along with rising star Louis Partridge, Ireland's Daryl McCormack, Bridgerton alum Regé-Jean Page, and Idris Elba, who, in a June 8 interview with British GQ, called his rumored casting unrealistic.
"I've always felt that it's not a realistic thing," Elba told the outlet. "James Bond was written how he was written for a reason. But I was complimented by it. And also, I think, in realistic terms, some markets just don't go for that. Bond is big all over the world. And [audiences] won't [all] go for a Black male, an African male, playing Bond. That's not what they like in their culture. Period."
"Bond is so unrealistic, so a hint of reality is good, but let's not try and make it woke," he continued. "I think you've got to be pure to what it is: escapism. Don't try and answer the world's taste. Just be Bond."
Catherine Laga'aia Beat 32,000 Hopefuls to Become Disney's New Moana
Before Catherine Laga'aia ever stepped onto a movie set, she was a nine-year-old girl watching Moana for the first time and seeing something she'd never seen on screen before. "She was an idol," Laga'aia said of the character. "It was the first time that I got to see what I looked like on screen. I saw my hair, my face, my nose." A decade later, she's the one wearing the title role.
Laga'aia, a 19-year-old Australian actress of Samoan and English descent, was cast as the lead in Disney's live-action Moana after beating out more than 32,000 other hopefuls who auditioned for the part. The film, which reunites her with Dwayne Johnson as Maui, arrives in theaters July 10, marking the 10th anniversary of the original animated movie. For Laga'aia, it's also her first credited film role.
The casting search wrapped in June 2024, and Disney kept Laga'aia's identity under wraps for months while she prepared for the part. She's since described the process as both overwhelming and deeply personal. "I feel like I've been kind of hit with a wave of things," she said. "It feels like I'm finally sharing a story that I've been keeping secret for so long. It's like you're finally allowed to let people in."
Acting runs in her family. Laga'aia is one of eight children born to actor Jay Laga'aia, known for his roles in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and Australian television, and his wife, Sandra Jane. Four of her siblings have also worked as performers, including her older brother Iosefa, who played both George Washington and Aaron Burr in an Australian stage production of Hamilton. When her father learned of her casting in 2024, he made an Instagram post calling it her "huge adventure" and writing, "You travel with the teachings of your parents and the love of your family and friends."

Before landing the role, Laga'aia's screen credits were modest. She appeared in three episodes of the Prime Video miniseries The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, a drama led by Sigourney Weaver. Moana represents a different scale of exposure entirely, to say the least.
Original voice actress Auli'i Cravalho, who won the part at 14, does not reprise the role on screen but serves as an executive producer on the new film, alongside Johnson and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The live-action Moana follows the same general story as the 2016 original: a young woman answers the ocean's call, leaves her home island of Motunui and sets off with the shape-shifting demigod Maui to break a curse threatening her people. For Laga'aia, though, it was a little more. "To me, Moana was an icon," she said. "It was a rite of passage" for young girls to finally see a Disney princess who looked like them, she added, echoing sentiments shared widely by fans since Cravalho's original casting nearly a decade ago.
As the film's July 10 release approaches, Laga'aia's story has become as much a part of the rollout as the movie itself, which has to be truly amazing for an actress raised on the original.
’80s Metal Legend Shares ‘Massive’ Plans for the Band as Concert Is Suddenly Canceled
Megadeth has "out of this world" plans coming soon.
According to Blabbermouth, guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine shared plans for the band's near future in an interview broadcast on a radio station in Turkey.
"We've got an announcement we're making [in July] that is so f---ing massive. It's out of this world,” he said. “Let me say it like that. I gave you a clue right there. It's out of this world.”
View this post on InstagramHe added that the band is also planning another cruise.
“We got another MegaCruise we're starting to work on, something we're gonna announce, Peace Sails cruise,” he said. “And that's gonna be—unlike the last time, where I got sick and I couldn't go, I’m going to be on that one.”
The MegaCruise is a five-day heavy metal music festival and cruise hosted by Megadeth. The inaugural event took place in October 2019, sailing from Los Angeles to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico, aboard the Norwegian Jewel. Featuring live concerts across multiple stages, the cruise included shows from Megadeth, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and more.
Mustaine was unable to take part in the cruise because he was undergoing intensive treatment and recovery for throat cancer. The rest of the band, including bassist David Ellefson, were on board to entertain and interact with the fans.
“That was a real shame for me,” he added, “because we had booked it, all the bands, and everybody had bought their tickets, and everybody was ready to go, and I got really sick. That was the beginning of the evidence that I was developing throat cancer. And so I had to stay home.”
The thrash metal legend, who underwent a “gnarly” treatment, also shared that he’s been in remission and is "happy about that." Although there have been side effects affecting his dental health.
“But you know what? I still can talk, and I can still sing, and a lot of people who get tongue cancer can't even talk,” he said. “So I thank God for that, and I thank my doctors and my family.”
The news and health update come as Megadeth was forced to cancel its most recent show in Lisbon due to technical issues "beyond our control." In a message posted to Instagram today, July 5, the band said, "We never want to let you down … and are just as disappointed as you are with this situation."
Founded in 1983 in Los Angeles, California, Megadeth has been going strong for more than four decades, with Mustaine at the helm. Shortly after his departure from Metallica, Mustaine formed Megadeth with Ellefson, establishing their blistering, technically demanding thrash style on their debut album, Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!
Right now, Megadeth is finishing up its European festival run and will return to the States later this month for several headlining dates before joining Iron Maiden’s Run for Your Lives World Tour in August.
Stay tuned for that “out of this world” announcement. We might be thrashing in space.

Maya Hawke Moves in ‘A Couple Blocks’ Away From Her Famous Acting Mother
Stranger Things actor Maya Hawke has revealed to People that she has moved into her famous mother's neighborhood.
Maya is the daughter of actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. The 1990s icons wed in 1998 and have two children together, Maya and Leon, before splitting in 2005.
“I just got myself a home a couple of blocks away from my mom,” the 27-year-old told the outlet. “I’m so excited to finally be able to put some roots down.”

The Do Revenge star has moved to upstate New York, which is great for her new filming schedule. She is currently working on The God of the Woods, a TV adaptation of Liz Moore’s 2024 novel of the same name.
She continued, “I feel like I have the best summer of my life going on, where I get to experience neither thing at the same time.”
Maya, who married Christian Lee Hutson on Valentine's Day, has always been open about her close bond with her mother, Uma Thurman.
“What isn’t a mother-daughter bond?” Thurman told People back in 2023 about her relationship with her daughter. “Good communication. That is a big challenge, to make sure we keep communication healthy, strong and open with your family.”
Last year, Uma Thurman told Late Night With Seth Meyers how proud she was at her children "surpassing" her own career.
“As a mother, you know, honestly, I’m so proud of them and they’re so together, and honestly, seeing your kids kind of surpass you is awesome,” the Pulp Fiction star said, per People.
She added about her daughter Maya and her son Leon, who is also an actor. “I think they’re so talented. And so you’re always anxious that the circumstances all support the best outcome. The only thing that makes me nervous is I want them to have the best circumstances."
