While Friends is known for delivering some of the most iconic Thanksgiving episodes in TV history, it’s not like the gang didn’t celebrate all the other holidays, too: Christmas and Hanukkah (“The One With the Holiday Armadillo,” among others); Valentine’s Day (“The One With Unagi”, for example); and several New Year’s-themed classics, too, including “The One With the Routine” (an all-time classic).

For some reason, there’s only one Friends Halloween episode…but it has been ranked among the Best Halloween TV Episodes of All Time more than once, by the likes of TIME and Entertainment Weekly. “The One With the Halloween Party” was the sixth episode of Season 8 and originally aired the day after Halloween, Nov. 1, in 2001. The episode’s logline on IMDB sums up the plot like this: “Monica and Chandler decide to throw a Halloween party; Phoebe runs into Ursula and her fiancé, who knows nothing about the real Ursula.”

But as anybody who’s watched “The One With the Halloween Party” a few (dozen) times can tell you, there’s a lot more to it than that.

For one thing, Ross (David Schwimmer) shows up at the party in the most confusing costume of all time: “Spudnik,” a giant potato with antennas that was meant to be a Sputnik pun but just ended up looking like “doody,” according to Joey (Matt LeBlanc). Then there’s Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) doing a very bad job of handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, not to mention Chandler (Matthew Perry) dressed up like a giant pink bunny. Plus, the actor playing Ursula (Lisa Kudrow)’s aforementioned fiancée, Eric, is Oscar winner Sean Penn.

Poor Eric. Ursula has tricked him into believing that she’s a kind and good-hearted person. Luckily, Phoebe (also Lisa Kudrow) instantly develops a crush on Eric and tells him the truth about her twin. (Unluckily, when the two tried to hook up, things got weird.)

Eric’s appearance could have been very different…if Perry got his way. He came up with the idea of breaking the metaphorical fourth wall for one scene, as he wrote in his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing:

“Sean walks by and I say, ‘Sean, can I talk to you for a second?’ ‘Sure, Matthew, what’s up?’ ‘Well, I’ve been really giving this a lot of thought. And I think you’re a good person to talk to about this,’” Perry wrote. “I’m smoking as I say this, and as I put the cigarette out with my huge bunny foot, I say, ‘I’ve been looking to transition myself into dramatic work.’ Sean Penn looks me up and down for about five beats and just says, ‘Good luck.’”

The take apparently got a huge laugh, but they decided to cut the scene because it broke the show’s rules.

Each year, the network that wins the broadcast rights to the Super Bowl, the No. 1 rated and most-watched single-night television broadcast in the United States each year, picks the show it most wants to draw attention to, to air in the post-Super Bowl timeslot.

Starring Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, the series follows a single mom (Olson) with an exceptional mind, whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata).

High Potential also stars Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot, and Judy Reyes as Selena.

On Breaking Bad, Emmy winner Paul played Jesse Pinkman, and Mitte played Walter White Jr. Their characters never shared a scene, Mitte said in a podcast interview posted Oct. 5, one week before his death.

“Aaron’s awesome, man. Aaron’s a cool dude,” Mitte said. “We hung out on set quite a few times over the years and played Halo.”
