Three weeks ago, Honey wouldn't let anyone come near her. Now she's stretched out in the family dog's bed, and the internet has already decided how this story ends.

Cactus the Rescue and his dad, Mike Brown, welcomed Honey and her six puppies three weeks ago. She arrived in their home anxious and guarded, not allowing Brown to touch her or be near her.

Fast forward, and Brown has earned her trust, eventually introducing her to Cactus, and now the dogs have developed a chemistry that's hard for people to ignore. Cactus' following has a suggestion for Brown: Keep Honey!

The Bed Incident That Won the Internet

In the latest video Brown shared of Honey, she is curled up in Cactus' bed. He pauses, then tells her gently, "Honey, that's Cactus' bed. It's OK. You're allowed in there."

Cactus quickly comes up to sniff and give Honey "permission" to stay in his bed. Brown tells Honey, "Enjoy. Relax."

That small moment proved to fans something they have been saying all along. Honey might be a foster dog for now, but she definitely won Cactus and Brown's hearts.

"Honey is there to stay! We have all decided that! In case you thought you had a say in the matter," wrote one follower.

Another joked, "If you don't keep Honey I am so unfollowing!! Lol. Kidding... never! But come on, just 'foster fail' her already!!" While another put it succinctly: "Cactus and Honey need each other."

Honey and Cactus Have a Great Chemistry

As Honey's puppies began teething, she started spending more time around the apartment with Cactus instead of staying in the bathroom with her pups. Honey has obviously become more comfortable around her foster family, and Cactus seems to enjoy having her around.

On Aug. 5, Brown shared a video of Cactus and Honey meeting for the first time. Brown smartly had them meet neutral ground. No pressure or forcing, just two dogs walking side by side. Brown then started walking them together as he fed them treats.

The real test came when they came back to the apartment. However, Cactus and Honey hit it off instantly and started playing together straight away.

"Looks to me that only the puppies are up for adoption. I do think that cactus has adopted Honey Mama," wrote one follower.

Foster Fails Are Not Failures at All

Honey went from a dog who wouldn't accept a hand to one claiming beds and winning strangers online. That is the type of change that doesn't happen by accident. It happens when a dog is provided love, shelter, and comfort.

The hardest part of fostering is what happens next. When Brown decided to foster Honey, he opened his home to an animal who needed a safe—but sometimes, the temporary part becomes complicated.

The longer the dog stays, the more routines you develop. And then comes the question foster families know: "What happens when it's time to say goodbye?"

Fans obviously want Honey to stay, but whether Brown adopts her is ultimately his call.

In this TikTok video from Tassel Ears Maine Coon Cattery, we get to see Blizzard grow from just one month old to four months old in a matter of seconds, and it's wild to see just how much bigger he gets.

How Long Does It Take a Maine Coon to Fully Grow?

As the largest domestic cat breed, it's a wonder that Maine Coon kittens start out as tiny as they do. But they are still able to reach their big size because they spend a much longer time growing than other cat breeds do.

Most cats reach their full, adult size by the time they're between 12 and 18 months old, but Maine Coons take much longer! For the most part, they will be done growing by the time they're three years old, though some male Maine Coons may continue growing into their fifth year.

And as for the size they'll reach when they're adults? Female Maine Coons will be about 10-14 pounds, while males may end up being anywhere from 18-25 pounds. These are big cats, after all.

Blizzard has grown quite a bit in a short period of time, but he still has a long way to go. He's going to be so big!

Due to the chaotic environment of an animal shelter, many dogs and cats don't show their best side when adopters are around. These fur babies are under tremendous stress and may react through hyperactivity, anxiety, or withdrawal. The TikTok from @sharing.lov3 told Mel's story and how the young pup has been in and out of the shelter several times.

The pretty Pittie has been at Cobb County Animal Services since May and is still waiting for a home. Mel jumps in excitement when she sees people, which may be a deterrent.

There's More to Mel Than Meets the Eye

Turns out, Mel is a total love bug. She prefers cuddles over constant activity and loves giving and receiving affection.

"She walks beautifully on a leash, she’s incredibly sweet, and more than anything, she just wants to be close to you. When I took her outside, she didn’t want to play fetch. She didn’t want to run... Pit Bulls still carry the stereotype of being more aggressive than other dogs, yet this is a mischaracterization based on the breed's history of abuse in dog fighting. Sadly, Pitties wait three times as long as other breeds to get adopted from shelters due to this misconception.

Mel is a beautiful example of how gentle and loving Pit Bulls are and what wonderful additions they can make to a family.

Hopefully, someone will soon see how sweet Mel is and give her the forever home she deserves.

A-Team Goldens is home to Nelly, who is the mother of this impressive litter of puppies! There are 12 puppies: a dozen fresh-baked biscuits! That's so many, and though she might look a little out of breath in this video, they're taking great care of her there.

They had no idea Nelly was going to have that many! Typical Golden Retriever litters have about 8 puppies, so to have 12 was just wild. To make these biscuit babies even cooler, they're perfectly split down the middle with 6 boys and 6 girls.

The puppies are now 4 days old, and they're growing a little every single day. Their eyes might not be open yet, but their tails have started to wag, and that's honestly better:

They're all going at once! I can't handle it. Now that they learned how to do that, I seriously don't think their tails will ever stop.

Golden Retriever Puppy Milestones

Typically, Golden Retriever puppies (and all puppies) stay with their mothers for 8-12 weeks, depending on the breeders' policies. Golden Retriever puppies really start hitting their milstones almost immediately, though.

During those 8-12 weeks, they get several big milestones out of the way, including:

• Eyes opening (2 weeks).
• First steps (2-4 weeks).
• Barking (3-4 weeks).
• Eating solid food (5-6 weeks).

By the time they get to their forever homes, they're ready to start hitting bigger milestones. Teething, socializing, and training will be a huge bpart of their first several months with you. For now, I'm glad Nelly will get to enjoy her babies!

Keanu's funny eating routine may seem strange to you, or if your dog does something similar at mealtime, it's probably quite relatable.

So why do dogs have unusual eating habits?

First of all, they're very excited at mealtime.

Jumping and spinning for meals is actually an instinctual trait.

Though domesticated dogs today are very different from their canine ancestors that had to hunt for their meals (hopefully), that excitement and pure joy for food is still very much present.

Pups also thrive on routine and know the cues for mealtime, like you preparing the food, which is why they sometimes do their little happy dances or zoomies.

Keanu, the Pomeranian, is so excited for each bite of his meal that he can't decide if he should sit or stand, so he does both, and it's just too cute.

As someone who has lived with multiple cats and dogs, I know animals have a way of making important household decisions without consulting the humans first. You can spend weeks researching the perfect new pet, or you can simply let your existing animals wander outside and recruit one on their own. Apparently, that's exactly what happened when three German Shepherds returned home with a new little friend.

The hilarious video shows the dog committee escorting a stray tuxedo cat right through the door like they've already completed the paperwork. By the time they reach the mudroom, it's pretty clear they've reached a unanimous decision: this cat belongs here now.

The adorable clip was shared by TikTok user @beaulett, whose caption perfectly sums up the situation: "My 3 dogs just bought home a stray cat."

The moment the dogs walk inside, the tuxedo cat happily trots alongside them, meowing and rubbing against his enormous new bodyguards as though he's been part of the family for years.

What absolutely sends me, though, is the formation.

The German Shepherd in front marches confidently into the house while the other two hang back just enough that it looks like they've appointed him as spokesperson.

He's absolutely the oldest sibling.

You can practically hear the conversation they had outside.

And so the chosen representative bravely steps forward with the tiny tuxedo cat.

"We found something."

"We're keeping him."

"It's already decided."

I've never met these dogs, yet I completely believe this.

Someone imagined the cat's perspective: "Cat was like 'I was told there was food here.'"

Honestly, a fair reason to move in.

Another person observed, "I was not aware that the cat distribution system applied to dogs."

Neither was I, but apparently the system continues to innovate.

And in the update everyone was hoping for...

They kept him.

His name is Peter.

Which somehow feels like exactly the right name for a cat who calmly walked into a house behind three German Shepherds as if he'd scheduled the appointment weeks ago.

Bubba the Ragdoll has my whole entire heart. I love that his coat is lighter than other brown Ragdolls: where they're giving "chocolate" vibes, he's giving more "Auntie Anne's best pretzel flavor." By the way, if you've never dipped those cinnamon sugar pretzels in cheese, do it.

Bubba hasn't been dipped in cheese, though: he's pure cinnamon sugar. He's still a baby, too: his mom started posting him less than a week ago, and he's super tiny. As he grows, his coat might get a little deeper and end up a little more chocolatey, but I hope not! I like the cinnamon!

Brown Ragdolls are not something you see every day. Ragdoll are notorious for their look: they're white, with blue eyes, and colorful markings that differ depending on their genetic coat pattern. For me, Ragdolls are the most easily identifiable cat breed on the planet.

Brown Ragdoll are classified as "Mink" Ragdolls, and there's been some debate over if they actually count as Ragdolls or not, but technically, they do. You can typically tell a traditional Ragdoll from a Mink Ragdoll by:

Split-faced cats frequently cause people on social media to stop scrolling. These eye-catching felines are known as chimera cats and get their unique look from two different embryos that fuse together in the early stages of pregnancy.

In fact, Rakestraw says “rhythmic tail wagging” is a clear sign that your pooch loves you. How adorable is that?

When this happens, your dog's tail gently moves back and forth when you’re together vs. being all over the place when they’re excited. They Follow You Around

Does your dog follow you from room to room or insist on being wherever you are? If so, you're not alone. Tons of dog parents experience this. Even though it can appear likey they're being clingy, it's actually just a sign your dog loves you.

While every dog is different when it comes to sharing space, having your pup follow you into the bathroom or around your home isn't meant to annoy you. According to Shannon Walker, dog trainer and founder of Northwest Battle Buddies, this quirky dog behavor means your dog cares deeply about you.

You Rest on You

Some dogs don't just want to be near you, they want to physically lean on you. If this is something your dog does all the time, keep in mind its a way your dog is trying to tell you that they are head over heels for you in a subtle, quite way.

Rakestraw reveals "leaning their body weight against you” is a strong sign of affection from your dog. Like chin rests, this is a way that your dog can show you they trusts you enough to relax because they know you’ve got them.

Overall, letting you four-legged companion do this strengthens the bond you two share.

They Give You Slobber-Free ‘Kisses’

Not every dog expresses how close they feel to you with enthusiastic kisses. Some have much quieter ways of saying "I love you." That's why as a dog mom or dad, it's important to be able to read your dog's body language.

When it comes to both dogs and cats, they can express themselves with a slow blink. In fact, Rakestraw says when your pup gives you soft eye contact and slowly closes and opens their eyes it's another way dogs show love.

So if your pooch isn’t a licker, that doesn't mean they don't adore you. It just means you probably haven't noticed what they’ve been trying to tell you because they might have been talking to you with their eyes.

They Gnaw On Your Socks

While it might seem like your dog is simply being mischievous, your missing socks may actually be a sign of affection. Funny, right?

This silly dog behavior probably isn’t your favorite if your furbaby does it a lot, but it’s done with good intentions. Because your scent brings them comfort, keeping your socks nearby can be your dog's way of feeling close to you when you're apart.

They Turn You Into a Chin Rest

If your big or small dog regularly uses you as their favorite pillow, it may mean much more than them simply getting comfortable.

After all, your dog's chin has to rest on something, so it might as well be you seeing as you're their favorite human. "Dogs will only do this with someone they love and trust," according to Rakestraw.

Resting on you is one of the small but meaningful signs your dog trusts you and enjoys being close to you, so when your pup rests their head on your knee or shoulder, consider it a compliment.

I have a dog who is part Heeler, so I say this with love and firsthand emotional damage: Australian Cattle Dogs aren't normal. They are brilliant, intense, hilarious little farm managers with opinions, and apparently some of them also come with choreography.

My favorite part is that Heeler weirdness always feels random until you remember what they were bred to do. These pups are dialed in. They watch everything. They react fast. I have watched a lot of dogs get zoomies, but Abby, the Deerhound, makes regular zoomies look like a light jog to the mailbox.

The video comes from New Zealand, and the caption keeps things simple: No music, just Deerhound. That is all it needs. The natural sound makes the whole thing feel even more amazing because you aren't being told to be impressed. Abby simply drops off a small cliff beside her human and lets physics start panicking.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I would still be carefully getting myself down from that little ledge while Abby had already completed a scenic tour, checked the coastline, signed an autograph, and started looping back. Her stride is unreal. She doesn't look like she's running so much as unfolding across the beach in giant, graceful pieces.

The viewers in the comments noticed it immediately. One person joked that their dog also takes off like this, just without the important part where the dog actually returns. I felt that in my soul. My pup is fast, too, but I can't let her go like this because there is always a non-zero chance she would choose adventure over recall and become a local legend.

Another viewer was stunned by how much ground Abby covers with each stride, and that's exactly the magic of the clip. Deerhounds are built for this. Long legs, deep chest, huge movement, and suddenly the beach looks too small for all that speed.

I think that's why this video has people in love with the whole moment. It's joyful. Abby looks like the beach unlocked some ancient Deerhound button, and once she pressed it, there was no going back.

As Molly Jespersen, a training specialist with Camp Bow Wow, explains, the summer gives them a consistent routine of company and attention for weeks. When school starts, the lack of these things can feel like a major loss to your dog. As natural pack animals, the lack of companionship can feel like a lack of connection to their pack, causing low energy and a more somber attitude.

4 Sneaky Signs Your Dog Has the Back-to-School Blues

Even if your dog has gone through the back-to-school season plenty of times before, that doesn’t mean they are completely immune to getting the blues when their kiddos leave the house. If you’re unsure whether your dog is feeling down over the empty house, here are a few signs to look out for when school rolls around. 

Excessive Grooming

As Jonathan Bensamoun, CEO and founder of Fi - Next Generation Dog Collars, explains, the average dog only grooms themselves about 16 times a day, which is normal maintenance. However, 1 in 22 dogs double this, exceeding 30 instances a day, which may signal that a dog is anxious. Excessive grooming can usually go unnoticed, as it doesn’t create any visual mess, but it can still be spotted throughout the day if you keep an eye out for it. 

Loss of Enthusiasm

Any dog that is feeling a little down will usually appear less interested in things they usually enjoy. Signs like isolation, restlessness and lethargy are just some of the ways you can tell that your dog is not feeling great. Jespersen adds that a lack of enthusiasm includes no longer playing with their favorite toys and greeting you with less excitement.

Normally, your dog will miss the kids when they’re off to school, but excessive pining for them may symbolize a deeper issue. Jesperson says that excessive pining typically looks like dogs that suddenly want to nap in the kids’ rooms or hover by the window waiting for the kids to come back home. 

Changes in Appetite and Routine

Whenever your dog changes their routine without a justifiable cause, it’s a cause of worry for pet parents. If you notice your dog is no longer interested in eating their favorite foods and isn’t following their typical schedules, you should contact your vet for further examination. Liz Cahn, a veterinary board advisor at PerkyPet AI, recommends investing in a camera you can place at home to take a peek at your dog’s activities throughout the day. 

3 Trainer-Approved Ways to Cure the Back-to-School Blues

Though it might seem as if all hope is lost every time school starts, there are a few ways that the experts agree you can help lessen your pup's heartbreak.

If your schedule doesn't allow for a midday check-in, bringing in outside help can make a big difference. Dr. Philip Putter, a practicing veterinarian and founder of Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel, recommends hiring a dog walker or using a local doggy daycare for playtime, exercise and socialization during the hours your dog would otherwise be home alone. Even a 20- or 30-minute midday visit breaks up the isolation and gives your dog something to look forward to rather than just waiting hours until everyone's back home.

Give Your Dog a Job

A bored dog is far more likely to spiral into the blues, so giving them something to do is one of the simplest fixes. Jespersen says the best remedy is giving your dog a job to focus on during those long, quiet hours. A frozen puzzle toy, a scheduled midday walk or a sniff-and-search game hidden around the house can turn boredom into mental stimulation.

Cahn agrees that puzzle toys, lick mats and frozen Kongs are great tools to keep dogs occupied when you're not around (while still making sure to provide one-on-one attention, exercise and mental stimulation when you are home). Leaving the TV or radio on while you're out, Dr. Putter suggests, can also help fill the silence and make the house feel less empty.

Wake Up Earlier or Go to Bed Later

Sometimes the easiest fix is simply making more room in the day. Dr. Putter suggests waking up early or staying up a little later to squeeze in extra play and exercise time with your dog before and after school hours. That extra window doesn't need to be elaborate; just a longer morning walk or a few extra minutes of fetch before bed can help your dog burn off energy and get quality time in, even on a packed schedule.

For the transition itself, both Jespersen and Cahn stress starting early rather than flipping the routine overnight. Jespersen recommends starting the new routine a few days before school begins so the adjustment doesn't happen all at once, and points to something as small as a consistent goodbye and hello ritual, as dogs pick up on those cues, and they may help ease the transition. Cahn echoes this, advising pet parents to gradually shift walk and meal times, add in short periods of alone time before the first day of school, and reward calm, independent behavior along the way.

The Weekend Trap You Need to Avoid

It's tempting to let the whole family pile back onto the couch with the dog every Saturday and Sunday, but that inconsistency can actually make Monday harder on your pup. Jespersen explains that if a dog gets a full weekend of company and cuddles only to be left alone again Monday morning, the contrast feels sharper and the adjustment period restarts. Keeping a similar structure on weekends, even a scaled-back version of the weekday routine, helps your dog settle into the new normal instead of bouncing between two extremes.

Cahn agrees that keeping up with your weekday schedule, rather than completely changing everything on the weekends, is best, especially if your dog is struggling to adjust to the new routine. Extra walks and family time are wonderful, but continuing some brief alone time can also help prevent Monday morning from feeling like another abrupt transition.

Blues vs. Severe Separation Anxiety: When to Call the Vet

A little moping for the first week or two is a normal adjustment, but there's a real difference between the blues and true separation anxiety. Jespersen says that if your dog is destroying furniture, having accidents despite being fully house trained, barking or howling for extended periods, or trying to escape when left alone, that's your sign to bring in your veterinarian or a certified trainer, as those behaviors go beyond sadness and point to distress that needs a more structured plan to address.

Cahn draws a similar line: back-to-school blues are often mild and temporary, and a dog going through them is still capable of settling down, eating and engaging in independent activity. Separation anxiety, on the other hand, is much more than boredom or disappointment; it's a panic response tied to separation from an attachment figure, and it can show up as excessive vocalization, destruction, escape attempts or accidents in an otherwise house-trained dog.

If symptoms are significant and persistent, Cahn recommends a veterinary visit to rule out underlying medical issues and talk through treatment, which can include desensitization and counterconditioning to departure cues, independence training, environmental changes, and, in some cases, medication.

The back-to-school transition isn't easy on anyone in the house, dogs included. But with a bit of planning, a job to keep them busy, and a routine that doesn't swing wildly between weekdays and weekends, most dogs settle into the new normal within a couple of weeks. The orange boy is on a bed when he notices his shadow moving across the comforter. Instead of simply investigating it, he starts pouncing, twisting, and twirling after it like he's just been informed that tonight is opening night and Bob Fosse is sitting in the audience.

Pomeranians are known for their plush double coats that make them look like walking clouds or cotton balls with paws. Their dense, velvety layers of fur that surround their face and entire body set them apart from other pups. Keanu the Pomeranian recently had a mini-spa day at the groomer's, where the fur fanning out around his tiny frame resembled more of a holiday centerpiece than a primping pooch.

In the TikTok from @keanuthepompom, the pretty pooch was being filmed from outside the grooming salon and completely oblivious that he was on camera. Keanu simply closed his eyes as the groomer perfectly finessed his fur, making it look lush and luminous.

The precious Pom was completely relaxed, clearly used to his beauty routine and aware that it's a necessity to keep him looking his best. Keanu's hair shrouded him in feathery waves and gave Keanu the appearance of a giant puffball, making any outline of his actual body disappear.

From a distance, it was hard to tell that Keanu was a dog rather than a stuffed animal plucked from a toy store. The fluffy fur baby could easily be mistaken for a powder puff or cotton candy cone.

Followers fell in love with Keanu and noted some other wide-angled resemblances:

How Often Should a Pomeranian Be Groomed?
