American Bully Is Left Alone With a Trampoline and a Dream — and He Jumps Right In
Leaving a dog home alone is always a bit of a gamble, whether you’ll be gone 10 minutes or 10 hours. You just never know what they’re going to get themselves into, even if they’ve never done it before. The chances of you coming home to a surprise are very high!
One family found this out the hard way. They left their American Bully home while they were on vacation, and though their pet sitter took excellent care of him … they apparently never noticed that the pup was wreaking havoc on their trampoline:
@lila.gray1like i can’t stand him funky ass dog #americanbully #dogsoftiktok #funnydogs #americanbullyofficial #fypシ゚viral
♬ original sound – Valery LaresLila Gray was a little annoyed to come home and see that her trampoline had been so messed up, of course, but it’s not her pup’s fault. He missed his family and wanted something to do while they were gone! They were the ones who taught him how to jump on the trampoline, after all.
They ended up getting a new bouncing mat for it, which is pretty easy to find. The pup himself was fine: most likely, his claws ended up tearing the bouncing mat, which can happen to anyone. That’s why you’re supposed to take your shoes off, but his shoes are built into his feet!
Related: Devastated Shelter Pup Was ‘Obviously Someone’s Baby’ and Had Hearts Breaking
When they replaced the bouncing mat, you might think this family decreed that no dogs would be allowed on the trampoline … But they didn’t. Just days after the incident, he was back to bouncing like nothing happened. Bouncing back, if you will:
@lila.gray1i genuinely wouldn’t even know how to react ngl #fyp #funny #dogsoftiktokviral #funnydogs #americanbully
♬ Take It On the Run – REO SpeedwagonHe’s only allowed to jump when there’s someone nearby, and he mostly prefers to walk around and sniff, as you might be able to tell from the several trails of snot all over the trampoline. He jumps occasionally but never too high!
Are Trampolines Safe for Dogs? This pup is allowed to jump when he’s supervised. What happened while they were on vacation was a total accident, and he’s lucky he wasn’t hurt … But now that they know it’s an issue, they’re taking every step to keep him safe!

Trampolines are risky no matter what: all it takes is one wrong jump for something to go wrong. However, dogs can go on trampolines as long as you’re comfortable, but you should:
- Make sure there’s a safety net to catch them if they jump too far.
- Stay on the trampoline with them or stand right there.
- Don’t allow anyone to jump while the dog is on.
The dog most likely won’t want to jump super high regardless, but you need to be alert. If they start getting too excited, bring them in immediately: don’t let them hurt themselves, or your trampoline, for that matter!

Senior Shelter Pit Bull Nobody Applied for Finds His Happy Ending After One Woman Steps Up
Turtle had something most shelter dogs desperately need, and far too few of them get: someone willing to stop and see him.
When volunteer Rachel (aka @rachelishaa) walked into the Providence Animal Shelter in Media, Pa., early in July, she asked a simple question: Which dog has no applications at all? The staff pointed her toward Turtle, a senior pit bull who once had a family but now spends his days at the shelter.

Thanks to Racel, ten million people saw Turtle’s story, and he finally found a family willing to adopt him.
Turtle Got a Day That Was All About Him View this post on InstagramIn early July, Rachel, who volunteers at shelters by boosting the visibility of adoptable pets, took Turtle out for a special day. Her goal was for the world to see him for who he is, not what they see in a shelter adoption photo profile.
During his break from kennel life, the sweet pittie spent the day in a park, and Rachel spoiled him with treats, toys and lots of cuddles.
Then came one of those small moments that said more than an adoption profile ever could. On the drive back, Turtle fell asleep in the car. After everything, he was tired but comfortable. He loved his day out and hoped a family would see his video and come to adopt him.

Thousands of People Cheered for TurtleOver the last month and a half, more than 10 million people have followed Turtle’s story. There were false starts during that time. At one point, Rachel posted saying she thought Turtle would get adopted, but nothing happened.
Two days ago, this happy pit bull had his last walk out of the shelter. He came out to meet a potential family, and they chose to adopt him.
The comments under the last video show how deeply people connected with him and his story. One fan said, “Go Turtle! Live long and prosper!”
Another person thanked Rachel for helping dogs like Turtle reach more people. And then the comment the community waited for, “You could tell handsome Turtle was so happy to have these good people with hearts of gold take him home. Blessings to all of you.”
Make Shelter Dog FamousRachel isn’t a trained professional. She spent years as a buyer in the fashion industry before deciding to make an impact in the community.
In 2024, she launched Trust the Paws, a Philadelphia-based pet supply company built around one rule: only sell products she actually believes in. From there, she took another path, helping invisible dogs get exposure.
As her Instagram bio states, her mission is to “make shelter dogs famous.” She accomplishes this by taking shelter dogs on day trips and documenting them. Often, she focuses her efforts on overlooked dogs who have been at the shelter the longest.

Black Cats Have Been Called Bad Luck for Centuries—but Their Real Story Will Melt Your Heart
A black cat can walk into a room and somehow be both striking and easy to miss. It’s perhaps that unique quality that makes these dark-coated felines so captivating. Their dark coats make their silhouettes almost disappear in low light, while their bright eyes can pierce through the shadows.
It’s no wonder that cat lovers have come up with the perfect nickname for them: void cats.

On August 17, we celebrate Black Cat Appreciation Day, a moment to bring awareness about the joy of living with a black cat and dispel myths about them.
Why Are Black Cats Considered Bad Luck?Image via Ghana Shyam Khadka on Unsplash
The association between black cats and bad luck began during the Middle Ages. At the time, the bubonic plague, or Black Death, devastated the European continent.
Caused by bacteria spread by rats, many cats became infected as their prey spread the disease. Some believed cats could also spread the plague to humans, adding more fuel to the animosity against them. The irony is that the plan backfired. Killing off the cats meant more rats, and the plague spread rapidly.
In the 13th century, Pope Gregory IX issued an official church document called “Vox in Rama.” In the document, he proclaimed that black cats were an incarnation of Satan.
At one point in history, black cats were associated with witches. This is where the modern belief that a black cat crossing your path is bad luck comes from. People believed the cat might be on a mission from a witch or the devil in disguise.

How Different Cultures Celebrate Black CatsVeronika Zelenina / Shutterstock.com
Not everyone believed black cats were bad luck. British sailors, for example, considered black cats on the board as harbingers of good fortune. They brought cats, believing it would bring good weather and a safe trip.
In Japan, black cats were also considered good luck, especially among single women. The Japanese praise the maneki-neko, or the beckoning cat. Depicted as black, it is a symbol of prosperity and fortune.
In Scotland, people believe that a black cat arriving at your doorstep brings prosperity.
Why the Internet Loves Void CatsThere is something wonderfully ridiculous about watching a black cat curl into a tiny ball on a dark blanket and appear to have vanished into thin air.
That is how black cats earned the nickname “void cat.” They look almost like a little black hole in the room, especially when their body blends into the shadows and only their eyes, nose or whiskers give them away.
The playful nickname has helped black cats earn a much-needed boost in popularity. The nickname has spread across communities on Reddit, TikTok and Instagram.
The visual effect has an explanation, though. Black fur contains high levels of the pigment eumelanin, and black is actually a common feline coat color. Many black cats also have gold, copper or green eyes, creating a striking contrast against their dark coats.
How to Celebrate Black Cat Appreciation DayBecause of the myth that black cats bring bad luck, they remain in shelters longer than other cats. That is exactly why Black Cat Appreciation Day aims to debunk stereotypes about black cats and celebrate our felines.
If you already share your home with a black cat, today is a great day to spread the word about how much you love your void cat. Take a photo for social media in natural light and make sure to get low and let those golden eyes do the work. Share it with the hashtag #BlackCatAppreciationDay. Your photo could inspire other would-be pet parents looking to adopt a cat to consider getting a void cat of their own.

Kind Cat ‘Becomes Mommy’ to an Orphaned Opossum—and He Looks Just Like Her
If you think cats only mother their own kittens, you’re completely wrong. As it turns out, cats are some of the most open-minded, kind animals the world has to offer! Even if a baby isn’t their own, they’ll treat them like they are, and there’s nothing as beautiful as that.
Recently, one cat mama proved that to be true. While she had her own litter of kittens, there was one little baby opossum who needed her help, and she wasted absolutely no time whatsoever taking him in:
@wanderlust.lacie>> Exciting times at the Cole house, one of our cats is mothering an orphaned possum. 🥹 Took some time to get it to latch, but look at us go saving lives EDIT: We know that opossums have a tube-like nipple that goes deep into their throat, which allows them to stay latched onto their mother while nursing. We asked ChatGPT about the situation before attempting anything, and while we were waiting to find help, it said getting the baby something was better than nothing while we tried to find a rehabber. It’s eyes were open, it was over 40g, and mouth was open and there was a good chance it was old enough to lap. The cat never licked it. It just attached to the cat while we waited for a call back… which was over 12 hours. The baby possum now been placed with a rehabber.
♬ original sound – Lacie ColeLacie Cole has an impressive yard, with a garden and even a chicken coop. Her cat recently had a litter of kittens, as you can see from the kitten she’s cuddling, so she was lactating. That’s when this baby opossum showed up in need of help! One way or another, he ended up orphaned.
This setup, where the mama cat was allowing the baby to nurse, was completely temporary. Long-term, the opossum wouldn’t have been able to get the nutrients he needed to develop properly, but they were in a pinch, and it kept him alive. He was placed with a rehab shortly after!

This wasn’t the first time they’d had a less-than-typical run-in with an animal who needed some help. About a year before this, they had a dog turn up on their roof:
@wanderlust.lacie#onthisday we found our sweet Oreos owners, just to find out her name was really Lucy. 🥹 #DogTok #FeelGood #StoryTime
♬ original sound – Lacie ColeObviously, that dog was happy to be there until she was reunited with her real family. They had been calling her Oreo because she looks just like one, but her real name was Lucy. I’m so happy that both she and the baby opossum were about to get to safe homes!
What to Do If You Find an Orphaned OpossumIt’s not unusual to find an orphaned opossum. Unfortunately, since adult opossums move slowly and are mostly awake at night, they’re very frequently struck by cars, leaving their babies behind. The babies will disperse if they’re old enough.
LAUREN OWENS LAMBERT / Getty Images
If you find an orphaned opossum, you need to proceed with caution. The most important thing to do is contact a wildlife rehab: you have good intentions, but most likely, no idea what you’re doing. Until they can reach your orphan, you should:
- Keep them somewhere dark and quiet, like a shoebox.
- Keep them warm with a heating pad.
- Do not feed them: cow’s milk is not good for them.
If they’re only with you for a few hours before going to the rehab, they’ll be fine. If it will be a while, they might advise you on how to feed them safely, but never take that into your own hands without confirmation. Luckily, this baby opossum’s cat mama saved the day until they could help him!

Funny Cockatoo 'Milks the System' to Manipulate Grandma Into Giving Him Treats
It doesn’t matter if their grandkid is a human, a dog, or a bird — Grandmas simply can’t resist the urge to spoil, and the Cockatoo in this TikTok video has proven it.
Bentley wanted extra treats, and boy did he ever con his grandma into it. It was so simple, really — he’s just like a human toddler!
@sir.bentley5🫩 he sure knows how to play it up for his two grammas…. 🤦🏻♀️ #cockatoo #birds #funny #dramatic #pets
♬ original sound – Sir BentleyThis video from @sir.bentley5 on TikTok really makes it obvious that this Cockatoo might be the first who actually deserves to win an Academy Award. He busted out the fake crying and everything for Grandma, and she instantly fell for it.
And not only did one Grandma fall for it, but so did his other Grandma — this bird knows what he’s doing.
All it took was sounding as sad as he possibly could, and Bentley was showered with snuggles and had these ladies convinced that nobody had given him nearly enough treats. This is a master class in getting what you want, and Bentley is a pro.

Can Parrots Actually Manipulate People?Parrots are incredibly smart animals, so it makes sense that they’ve figured out what they need to do in order to get what they want. But are they being manipulative on purpose?
The answer to that question is yes and no. Your parrot’s more human-like behavior is learned from the people they spend their time around. They are masters at mimicking,
and as The Guardian points out, that’s a behavior that first began in the wild. They learned by copying their flock’s sounds and behaviors, and now, their humans are their flock.
They’re also smart enough to keep track of the way we behave when they act a certain way. Clearly, Bentley has learned that acting all adorable with those fake cries around Grandma is all it takes to wrap her around his little finger (or claw, in this case).
Just remember that next time your parrot is trying to get a few extra treats out of you. And then give them the treats anyway, because how could you say no to such a cute face?

3-Legged Shelter Cat Had the Odds Stacked Against Him—Then Got the Best Surprise
Animals with health issues or disabilities are often overlooked in shelters. Adopters get concerned with added expenses and extra care that may go into bringing home a pet with physical challenges.
Gimble the 3-legged cat was recently brought to the NAWS Humane Society, where many expected his disability to make potential parents hesitant to adopt him. Yet Gimble managed to win the hearts of a young couple who were immediately smitten with the sweet kitten.
@franflightFINALLY A POSITIVE UPDATE!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who shared Gimble’s story. Thank you to everyone who applied for him, and for everyone who took the time out of their busy lives. Thank you for being so willing to help an animal who truly needed it. Gimble was found dumped in a trailer park, needing to have his leg amputated. He deserves this new life. Thank you to Jordan and Cody for opening your hearts to such a wonderful cat. I love you guys SO much, thank you for allowing me to share these animals’ stories with you. You all truly make SUCH a deep impact on not only their lives, but in mine as well. I love you all so so so much, and as always i’m sending you SO much love!😭🫂🤍 #cat #adoptdontshop #catsoftiktok #catadoption #adopt
♬ Staying Still – Noah KahanThe TikTok from @franflight told Gimble’s story and how his chances for adoption looked slim at first.
“Gimble’s life was changed when he lost a leg,” the on-screen text explained. “So many people said it would take him a long time to get adopted regardless of how amazing of a cat he is.”
The 3-year-old cat lived with a family in a trailer park for his entire life until they moved and left him behind. Dealing with both abandonment and surgery to remove his leg, Gimble arrived at NAWS feeling completely lost and confused. Still, his sweet nature and playful spirit emerged and caught a family’s attention thanks to the power of social media.
“Gimble didn’t wait long at all,” the story continued. “It was actually the opposite… Gimble found his happy ending because of everyone who shared his story.”
Followers Spread the Word on GimbleThe video showed Gimble’s loving and friendly personality, where he clearly doesn’t let a missing limb slow him down. The pretty kitty won over numerous followers who reposted his story and wound up getting his forever home.

A young couple named Jordan and Cody made Gimble a part of their family, and proudly held him along with a sign sharing the good news. The TikTok creator shared her appreciation for the couple and the many followers who helped make Gimble’s dream come true.
“Thank you for allowing me to share these animals’ stories with you,” the caption read. “You all truly make such a deep impact on not only their lives, but in mine as well.”

German Shepherd Puppy ‘Meets a Blueberry’ and Makes a Very Clear Enemy
German Shepherd puppies are known for being kind of crazy. They love to be loud, whine, and bite whoever is near: training will help, but their “land-shark” phase is just inevitable. It’s not just people, though.
It’s everything, including some foods. Blueberries, for example, presented a massive problem for one German Shepherd. When he saw one for the first time recently, he could hardly believe his eyes, and he tried his best to fight it off:
@imbrucedogBruce’s got beef with blueberries #funnydog #sillypuppy #sillydog #germanshepherd #gsdpuppy
♬ original sound – アジアンマッサージ リラクゼーション ヴィラ 千歳店 – ガラスコーティング 洗車用品 カーフィルム コンパウンドBruce the German Shepherd clearly feels some type of way about blueberries. It was on the floor, and every time he looked at it, he got angry all over again! I don’t know what it is about this fruit! My youngest dog also loves to fight blueberries.
He just doesn’t understand it. Every time he touches it, it rolls away, and it’s weirdly smooth. He probably thinks it’s a tiny alien! Though we never see him actually eating it in this video, from experience, I can say he eventually got over it and ate the berry!
Related: German Shepherd ‘Realizes He’s a Dad,’ and Everything Changes When He Sees His Puppy
Bruce is experiencing a ton of things for the first time right now, and each is funnier than the last. After he was fueled up with his blueberries/enemies, he went down to Bass Pro Shops to look at the fishies:
@imbrucedogHe was mesmerized #funnydog #cutedog #germanshepherd #workinglinegermansheperds
♬ เสียงต้นฉบับ – N – ÑHe’s just like me. Whenever there’s a fish tank in a store, that becomes my free zoo time. When I go into a Petco? I could be there all day!
Can Dogs Have Blueberries?Judging by the way dogs seem to love to fight blueberries, you’d think they were harmful in some way. However, blueberries are actually great for dogs in moderation, so hopefully, Bruce gets used to them!
Blueberries are rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants that are great for dogs. They’re small, too, which makes them great for use as training treats instead of other, higher-calorie options. If your dog struggles eating blueberries without fighting them, you can:
- Crush them before offering them.
- Mix them into their food.
- Mix them with plain greek yogurt to make “pupsicles.”
Just be careful not to feed too many: they’re good in moderation, but they’re high in sugar. A few every day will be great, though, especially if they stop fighting them first!

Rescue Lizard Mom With the Voice of an Angel Calms Her Nervous New Pet by Singing
It’s easy to be kind to a rescue dog or cat. They’re fluffy, affectionate and usually pretty obvious about wanting love. But I always have a soft spot for people who go out of their way to earn the trust of pets that aren’t quite so cuddly. Whether it’s a lizard, a snake or even a fish, there’s something really beautiful about watching someone patiently help a scared animal feel safe.
That’s exactly why I couldn’t stop watching this video. A rescue frilled lizard sits quietly while his new mom softly sings Laufey’s “From the Start,” and not only does she have the voice of an angel, but you can almost see the little guy relaxing as he listens. Volume up for this clip!
@tabitha.ebPlease ignore my singing xox He is genuinely adorable, by the way I was trying to take him out because he needs to build muscle and fatten up plus Iwe are getting him used to being handled again as he never was in his old home, the owners were lovely people just really didn’t know what to do with him and had been trying to give him away to a good home for ages they weren’t bad people and did their best with him so no judgement to them! 🙂 He loves being taken out it’s just he gets scared by big movements initially as he just isn’t used to it!! xx #frillednecklizard #rescue #singing #animals #fyp

The caption explains that she wasn’t just serenading him for fun.
She wrote, “Please ignore my singing, xox. He is genuinely adorable.”

She went on to explain that she was taking him out because he needs to build muscle and gain weight while also helping him get comfortable being handled again.
According to his new mom, he wasn’t used to regular handling in his previous home. She was also quick to defend his former family, explaining that they were kind people who simply didn’t know how to properly care for a frilled lizard and had been trying to find him a good home for quite some time.
“I have no judgment toward them,” she wrote.
She added that he actually enjoys being taken out but still gets nervous at first because big movements are unfamiliar to him.
Watching the video, you can almost see that trust beginning to grow.
The comments were every bit as wholesome as the clip itself.
“A siren and her dragon which she calms with her melodies.”
Honestly…that’s exactly what it looks like.
Another viewer wrote, “Proof that music does indeed soothe the savage beast.”
Someone else joked, “Honestly this is such a flex cuz imagine you’re able to calm even the most ferocious of beasts.”
Several people couldn’t get over her voice.
“Literally an angel singing.”
One commenter admitted, “I just sat here and marinated in it just like lizard.”
@tabitha.ebGenuinely been harassed in the comments to sing for him again 😭 it’s always after I get him out he flares up then he is great with me the rest of the day lol l I’m planning on doing a lil video soon answering questions because I’ve been getting a lot so if anyone wants to know anything please ask! #animals #frillednecklizard #fyp #singing #rescue
♬ original sound – Tabitha <3My favorite observation came from the person who noticed the little reptile slowly turning his head.
“He literally turned his head to hear her better.”
Even better?
Another viewer said, “My bearded dragon started looking at me once she heard your singing.”
And perhaps the funniest comment of all read:
“‘Excuse my singing’…and it’s the most beautiful voice ever 😭. He agrees you have a very lovely voice.”
I think the little guy would agree.

‘World’s Proudest’ Golden Retriever Can’t Stop Bringing Dad Her Puppies
There’s nothing that makes me happier than a proud mom and her babies. Human, dog, or anyone else, I’m always so amazed by how much they love their babies! I must admit that I have a soft spot for dogs, though, and in particular, mama dogs who have just had puppies.
Recently, one Golden Retriever proved me right for that: when she had her puppies, she couldn’t wait to show them to her dad. She was so excited, but she wanted them to be fully appreciated, so she made sure to bring them one at a time:
@the.rat278do nt worry they are fine its what they do#goldenretriever #goldenretrieverlife #goldenretrieverpuppy #puppy #fyp
♬ Elegant and gentle, Boccellini’s Menuet – KohrogiI love that @the.rat278 doesn’t question his dog’s methods, nor does he try to lend a hand: she wants to show him her babies her way, and he’s cool with that. Funnily enough, everyone assumed he was a grandma, but he is not! He’s their very proud grandfather!
Though Mama’s name hasn’t been shared, it’s clear that she loves both her puppies and her dad very much. She knew they’d be safe, so she took her time and brought him all 8 of her puppies. She trusts him completely!
Related: Golden Retriever Gives Birth to a Litter of Fresh-Baked Biscuit Babies
This is not the first or last time this has happened. In fact, pretty much every time he’s in bed, she’s bringing those puppies over to him. It started as sweet, but now, I’m wondering if she just likes the time off:
@the.rat278#fyp #puppy #goldenretrieverpuppy #goldenretrieverlife #goldenretrieverlife
♬ sonido original – ZiscoHonestly, if I were her, I’d feel the same way. Eight babies is so many, especially when they’re as needy as puppies are! I love that she’s right there, too. She knows she’s his baby!
Should You Co-Sleep With Puppies?Clearly, the human in this situation hasn’t actually slept while the puppies were in his bed: he’s been making TikToks! The puppies have a very nice whelping box where they spend most of their time, except when their mom is dragging them out to say hi.
Breeders do not co-sleep with their puppies: first of all, they’re not really their puppies, and second, it’s dangerous. Puppies require temperature regulation that a whelping box, typically equipped with a heat lamp, provides. When a puppy gets to their forever home, co-sleeping is really not advised either because:
- The puppy could fall.
- You could roll over on them.
- The puppy could get stuck under a pillow.
- It could create separation anxiety.
Ideally, your puppy should have a separate sleeping space, especially when they’re really young. I had a “puppy jail” set up right beside my bed, so my dog could sleep, go potty, and play while I slept. Plus, I could stick my hand down and make sure she was still breathing when I got scared!
Orange Cat Forms What Might Be the Most Perfect 'Bread Loaf' We've Ever Seen
Orange Cats are often known for their wild behavior, but when it comes to sitting and being still, they also appear to be experts at that activity, too.

Why Do Cats Loaf?Though this is an absolutely adorable thing that cats do, you kind of wonder why they do it.
Does tucking all your appendages under your body seem comfortable?
Well, it wouldn’t be for humans, but for kitties, it’s actually quite comfortable.
The loafing position can have different meanings, but contentment is usually the main one, and it means they’re very comfortable near you.
If you see a cat in this position, it typically means they are very happy.
Other reasons some felines like to loaf indicate that they trust you.
Some cats may also go into the loaf when they feel threatened, but that’s more atypical.
They also like the loaf position because it provides warmth (and this orange British Shorthair cat loaf does closely resemble some very warm bread).
When they put their appendages under their body, it helps conserve energy and heat.
If a kitty is sick or injured, they may also get into a loafing position, but changes in energy levels, appetite, or vocalizations usually accompany that move, so if they suddenly start loafing, keep an eye on it.

Lalune — aka “Lala” — is a Miniature Schnauzer with a unique coloring that gives off a sort of ‘tasty treat’ vibe, making her even more irresistible.

Lala’s curious expression showed a penchant for adventure, almost like she couldn’t wait to explore her surroundings.
Her button nose, perky ears with perfect little folds, and fluffy, cloud-like fur made her look like she was plucked from a toy shelf. Yet her caramel coloring is what gave Lala true head-turning status.
“Rare Schnauzer color: Toasted chicken nugget,” the onscreen text shared, with the caption jokingly adding, “Secret menu item.”
Followers agreed that Lala’s unique tint reflected certain favorite foods:
- “That’s the Cinnamon Roll Limited edition,” one pointed out.
- “I’d call it ‘toasted marshmallow’,” another remarked.
- “That’s like the perfect pancake color,” a follower noted.
- “That’s a limited edition Rose Gold MS. Obsessed,” someone posted.
A Schnauzer’s coat ranges from the traditional wiry texture to luxuriously soft and plush. These adorable canines come in a wide variety of colors and subsets:
- Solid: Traditional black, liver (chocolate), red, and traditional white.
- Bi-colors: Black and silver, liver and cream, liver and tan, and black and tan.
- Banded colors: Salt and pepper, liver pepper, and agouti (wolf sable).
- Parti (two-toned or multi-colored) patterns: Black parti (white coat with patches of black), liver parti (white coat with liver spots), salt and pepper parti (white coat with scattered salt and pepper patches), and liver pepper parti (white coat with liver pepper markings and chocolate-tipped banded hairs).

This Aussie-Lab Mix Puppy Looks Like Someone Put Polka Dots on a Liverwurst Sandwich
I know comparing a puppy to a liverwurst sandwich sounds completely unhinged, but hear me out. The second I saw this little guy’s brown-and-white spotted coat, that’s exactly where my brain went. He’s like a tiny liverwurst sandwich that someone decorated with polka dots, and somehow…it’s ridiculously adorable.
Meet Rascal, an Australian Shepherd-Labrador mix who’s already stealing hearts with his unique coloring. One look at those beautiful spots, and it’s easy to see why people in the comments couldn’t stop talking about him.

Honestly?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite this cute.

Rascal’s gorgeous chocolate-and-white spotted coat almost looks hand-painted, and between his floppy ears and those big puppy eyes, he’s practically impossible to scroll past.
The comments quickly filled with compliments.
“So beautiful.”
“What a gorgeous puppy.”
Then one commenter perfectly summed up what happens when you combine two famously smart, but very different, breeds.
“Oh good lawd… one half of that dog is solving quantum physics, while the other half is licking the window. 😂 He’s beautiful though!”
I laughed out loud because…that feels surprisingly accurate.
Another person wrote, “Aww…this could actually be a good breed! He is perfect!”
And someone else had just one thought:
“Holy high-energy dog he’s gonna be!”
They’re probably not wrong.

♬ original sound – Sound Shares ✨Yes, Australian Shepherds are among the highest-energy dog breeds out there. Originally bred to herd livestock, they thrive on physical exercise, mental challenges and having a job to do. Without enough activity, they can become bored and invent their own entertainment…which isn’t always appreciated by their families.
Labrador Retrievers are also energetic, especially as puppies, so an Aussie-Lab mix like Rascal will likely benefit from plenty of walks, playtime, training sessions and puzzle toys to keep both his body and brain busy.
The good news?
All that energy usually comes wrapped up in a loyal, affectionate and incredibly fun companion.
Just be prepared to keep up.

Woman’s Litter of ‘Garden Kittens’ Makes Growing Her Garden Feel So Magical
Garden season is in full swing. Every year since I was about 10, I’ve said to myself, “I’m going to start a garden,” and then I never do it. In my defense, it’s hard, and my backyard is a little… Blah.
Maybe because there aren’t kittens? One woman recently showed off the litter of kittens who live in her garden, and they’re so cute it’s actually wild. If I had garden kittens like this, I would be out there every minute of every day:
@outletridge_homesteadMy little gardeners 🥹👩🏼🌾🫜🫶🏻🐾 #kittens #cats #gardening #garden
♬ original sound – Lonewolf – Nostalgic Vibes 🎧The Outlet Ridge Homestead is no stranger to animals. They’re a homestead, after all! They have cows, chickens, dogs, and even tiny goats. A lot of the animals live in a barn together, and what do barns need?
Barn cats! Of course. There are several barn cats living on their property, and those barn cats recently had kittens. They’re little, but they’re officially in their explorer eras: they love to wander around the farm, particularly in the garden.
Related: Stray Cat Brings Her ‘Rainbow Kittens’ to Woman’s House for Dinner
These little kittens are living their lives to the fullest, and that includes taking naps all around. They wander all around the property, but the barn has some of their favorite nap spots:
@outletridge_homesteadBarn cats are superior and none of you crazy cat people can convince me otherwise 🤭 #cats #kittens #catnap
♬ original sound – e3wyfilmThey’ll nap just about anywhere, especially in the barn, where there’s less of a chance of being rained on at random. Of their napping spots, I think my favorite is the food bowl. That’s just so sweet!
Do You Need Barn Cats? The Outlet Ridge Homestead is home to several barn cats, and that’s how they like it. Though they’re outdoor cats, they’re not completely feral: they’ll go up to their mom, let her pet them, and follow her around the farm.
Barn cats aren’t technically a necessity on a farm. You can have one without them, but it will take a bit more effort than if you did have one (or more)! Barn cats are meant to kill rodents that get into your barn. If you don’t have them, rodents might:
- Soil your hay.
- Chew holes in feed bags.
- Contaminate the feed.
- Transmit diseases.
If you don’t want to have a barn cat, that’s totally okay: you’ll just need to spend a lot more time rat-proofing, and you’ll miss out on some garden fun. But hey, to each their own!

If Your Dog Feels Deeply Connected to You, Vets Say These 5 Signs Will Show It
Dogs are well-known for their ability to show affection with humans. But it’s easy to wonder if that affection your pup dishes out means they feel close to you, or if they are just happy that you feed and walk them regularly. While every dog is an individual, your pup may have certain ways of showing they feel a deep bond with you that you’re just not picking up on since dogs communiate and talk in their own way.
“Dogs show attachment in different ways, so there is no single behavior that proves how they feel,” explains Aimee Warner, DVM, resident veterinarian at Waggel. “That’s why it is always worth looking at their overall body language and what is normal behavior for your individual dog.”
Jo Myers, DVM, a veterinary advisor at Vetster, agrees. “Dogs, like people, have different ways of expressing close relationships,” she says. That’s why she cautions against reading too much into just one behavior and instead look for several to decode what your devoted furbaby is trying to tell you. “A dog that feels strongly connected to someone usually shows a consistent pattern of choosing to be near that person, interacting with them and relaxing in their presence,” she says. “That’s much more meaningful than any one behavior by itself.”
While every dog says “I love you” in their own way, there are a handful of things experts say most dogs do when they prioritize you above everyone else and feel a special energy with you. So if you want to know if your bond is on the right track and if your pup truly trusts you, vets suggest looking out for these 5 sign your dog feels deeply connected to you, that they are likely throwing out there.

5 Signs Your Dog Feels Deeply Connected to You A happy pup that loves its dog dad. You’re Greeted with a Wiggle WormIf your dog practically turns into a furry noodle when you walk through the door, take it as a pretty good sign that they’re thrilled to see you. That full-body excitement can be one of the sweetest signs your dog loves you, according to Chyrle Bonk, DVM, a veterinarian at Embrace Pet Insurance.
“The full-body wiggle is a sign of ultimate happiness in dogs,” she says. “It allows them to release all physical tension, allowing their happiness to spread from tail to nose.”
The best part is, Bonk reveals these wiggles are usually reserved for your pup’s favorite person, aka you. Therefore, seeing them lets you know how close your dog feels to you.
You’re They’re Go-To Napping SpotWhen your dog chooses to snooze near you, they’re showing more than just a preference for your favorite blanket. Where a dog chooses to sleep can offer a glimpse into the dog-human bond and how safe they feel around you.
“Sleep is a vulnerable time, so many dogs choose to rest near the people they trust most,” Myers says. But that doesn’t mean every dog who has a deep connection with you wants to lay on top of you or even touch you. “Some sleep pressed against your legs, while others are perfectly happy at the foot of the bed or across the room,” Myers says. “Individual preference matters much more than distance.”

They Show You Their BellyA belly-up pup is basically putting their trust on full display. So, if your dog flops over, gets loose and jiggly, and happily exposes their belly around you, it can be a big clue your dog is attached to you more than your realize.
“Dogs don’t show their belly to just anyone,” Bonk explains. “It’s a very vulnerable part of their body, so showing you their belly means they feel secure around you and have complete trust in you.”
Of course, as Myers points out, sometimes this posture is also a not-so-subtle request for a belly rub, which is also a sign that your pooch feels connected to you and loves when you give them affection.
They Keep Tabs On YouIf your pup seems determined to know where you are at all times, that shadowing behavior may be their way of staying close to you. In fact, how dogs show affection can look a lot different from the obvious kisses and cuddles we tend to expect. So, while it’s easy to feel frustrated when your dog wants to join you in the bathroom, just remember that shadowing you is simply your pup communicating that it wants to be with you, Bonk says.
“Many dogs simply enjoy being where their favorite person is, so following you from room to room can certainly reflect a close social bond,” Myers says.
It’s also possible that your dog is simply curious about what you’re up to or maybe even feeling a little anxious, she says. “Ideally, a well-adjusted dog enjoys being with you, but is also comfortable relaxing when you’re briefly out of sight,” Myers notes.
You’re Their #1 Snuggle BuddyHow can you know if your dog loves you as much as you love them? Watch their body language and behavior when they’re around you, especially their cuddlng style.
“Choosing to sit or lie close to you can be a sign of affection and trust, particularly if your dog approaches on their own terms and can move away freely,” Warner says.
‘This usually suggests that your dog finds your presence comforting and rewarding,” according to Myers. However, if your furry companion doesn’t like to cuddle, don’t assume you don’t have a strong bond with your pooch. “Not every bonded dog is a snuggler,” Myers explains.

7 Hilarious Signs Your Dog is Loving Life, According to a Trainer
Have you ever caught your dog doing something so goofy that you couldn’t help but wonder if they were simply loving life? From happy dances to full-body wiggles, dogs have plenty of amusing ways to show us they’re feeling good. However, because dogs speak differently, it can be hard to catch all the ways your furry companion is letting you know they are thriving, especially when they choose to do so in silly and cute ways. The plus side is, your pup is probably constantly revealing their joy, you’re just not noticing.
“One of the best parts of sharing your life with a dog is that they never hide how they are feeling,” says Shir Limazati, CPDT- KA, of Another Chance Training. “Their happiness is contagious, and their excitement, contentment and joy are written all over their body language. Unlike humans, dogs don’t fake emotions and knowing your dog is happy is one of the most rewarding parts of being a pet parent.”
So how can you tell if your dog is living their life to their fullest? “Dogs communicate changes in their physical and emotional well-being through changes in their behavior long before more obvious symptoms appear,” Limazati explains. “By knowing what your dog’s ‘normal happy’ looks like, you are much more likely to notice when something seems off.”
Keep reading to learn 7 hilarious signs that your dog is loving life, according to a trainer.

7 Hilarious Signs Your Dog is Loving Life Two female friends traveling by vintage tramcar with small dogTo know if your dog is truly enjoying each day, it might help to understand that giving them a life worth loving is the first step. Though, that doesn’t necessarily mean buying them endless toys or planning elaborate adventures. “At the end of the day, dogs do not measure a good life by how many toys you buy them or how many extravagant adventures you plan for them,” Limazati says. “They find joy in the little things and by simply being near the humans they love.”
Learning to recognize these everyday signs of doggie joy can help you better understand your pup and spot the little behaviors that show your dog is happy, healthy and loving life.
1. They Do a Happy Dance When You Grab the LeashDogs are quick to learn that certain actions predict something fun, which is why grabbing the leash can trigger an instant burst of excitement.
“Those happy spins, tippy taps, zoomies and tail wags when you grab that leash mean your dog is predicting outdoor smells, perhaps a trip to the neighborhood park, a stop at the store that leaves the jar of treats outside their door and most importantly, one-on-one time with their pet parent,” Limazati gushes. “Happy dances for the leash mean you have established a positive association with going outside the front door with your dog.”
That goofy burst of excitement is more than just adorable, it can be a joyful sign that your dog has learned to associate time with you and the great outdoors with something positive.
2. They Suddenly Appear When You Open Something That Holds FoodYou know your dog has heard that refrigerator door open from three rooms away when they suddenly appear at your feet. For a dog, that enthusiastic response to mealtime is one more clue that they’re engaged with the things they enjoy.
“Congratulations, this means your dog has trained you successfully,” Limazati declares. “The action that predicts food is about to appear is quickly learned by healthy, happy dogs. As a trainer, I love seeing dogs get excited when they can predict food is coming, not only because it means they are easily motivated to train, but excitement around food also means your dog is healthy and thriving.”
Limazati points out that a loss of appetite or interest in food is often an early sign your dog isn’t feeling well.
“So, when your dog comes running because they know dinner is coming, celebrate it and don’t forget the cheese tax,” Limazati smiles.
3. They Do a Full Body Wiggle When You Walk In the DoorFew things are more unmistakable than a dog’s entire body wiggling with excitement when their favorite person walks through the door.
“A loose body wiggle with an enthusiastic greeting tells you that your dog feels safe, comfortable and genuinely happy to see you,” Limazati says. For me, it also confirms that your dog understands that your home is their home. After all, they’re not just saying hello here. They are, in fact, celebrating your return home.”
That full-body enthusiasm is exactly the kind of funny and adorable sign that shows your dog’s happiness and is easy to spot.
4. They Give You a Play BowThis behavior isn’t quite a sign that your dog worships the ground you walk on, but it kind of is. Limazati says that dogs who regularly invite you to play by dong this are confirming that you two have a beautiful connection. After all, the play bow is one of the most recognizable ways dogs invite each other—and their favorite humans—to have some fun.
“They’re saying, ‘Whatever I do next is all for fun,’” Limazati reports. “This is their way of inviting you to interact with them, play with them and be silly with them. These are the spontaneous moments with your dog that you will remember forever.”
A dog who regularly invites you to play is showing more than a desire for a game, it’s a little burst of joy that can be one of the biggest signs they’re loving life.
Related: 7 Signs You Are Your Dog’s Primary Comfort Source, According to a Vet
5. They Follow You Everywhere—Even to the BathroomIf your dog follows you everywhere, including places where you absolutely do not need an audience, take it as a compliment. After all, since dogs are social creatures, Limazati says they often love being with the people they trust the most, like you.
“Following you from room to room often means they’re comfortable, curious, and they are seeking companionship, rather than being ‘needy,'” Limazati notes.
As long as your dog can relax stress-free when you’re not home, Limazati says having an adorable supervisor is merely a sign that your dog loves life with you and can’t wait for what happens next, like folding those fascinating socks they’ve had their eye on. In other words, being your little shadow can be one of the more amusing signs your dog is glad to share life with you.
6. They Sprawl Across Your Bed Like They Own ItWhile it may not leave much room for you, your dog’s silly bed-stealing behaviors are actually a sign they adore you.
“If your dog has claimed your bed—and somehow 90% of the mattress space—they’re probably not just stealing the covers,” Limazati explains. “Choosing to stretch out beside you when they are at rest is the ultimate signal of trust, safety and comfort. In other words, they chose you as their safe place.”
So while your dog may be stealing your favorite spot, they’re also showing they are feeling good by choosing to spend their downtime close to the person they love.
7. They Sleep—A LotNo, your dog is not telling you that you’re “boring” by cat-napping the day away. Getting plenty of quality sleep is actually an important part of a healthy, happy dog’s life. When plenty of sleep is simply part of your dog’s normal routine, those peaceful naps can be another somewhat silly and unexpected sign that they’re feeling good and enjoying their day-to-day life.
Limazati reports that most healthy adult dogs sleep 12-14 hours a day, and puppies and seniors sleep even more. Yet, she says dogs have to feel safe and comfortable in order to rest and drift off into a slumber. “A relaxed snoozing dog is often a wonderful sign that they feel secure in their home,” she reveals.
That said, Limazati says it’s important to know your dog’s “normal” because lots of snoozing isn’t always a sign your dog is living their best life.
“If your normally energetic dog all of a sudden becomes unusually sleepy, lethargic or uninterested in activities they usually enjoy, it’s a good idea to contact your primary veterinarian,” Limazati urges.

How To Care for a Bernedoodle’s Curly CoatThis Bernedoodle puppy, in addition to looking just like an assortment of desserts, also has a beautiful curly coat.
So how do you keep that curly coat healthy and fluffy?
For curly and wavy-haired Bernedoodles, grooming should really be a daily practice.
Unlike straight hair, curly and wavy hair on a Bernedoodle is more prone to matting, so these pups need to be brushed out every day or every other day.
Using a slicker brush, be sure to get behind the ears and under the legs as well. These areas get matted and tangled more easily than others.
Bernedoodle parents also need to be diligent about baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and grooming appointments.
Start grooming Bernedoodle puppies young, like this little one, so they get accustomed to all these hygiene practices and associate them with positive experiences (use treats and praise!).

Giant Schnauzer Walks on 2 Legs Like a Human and Looks Just Like a Muppet
I have walked my dog past a lot of strange neighborhood sights, but Fiona, the Giant Schnauzer, casually strolling upright on two legs, would stop me in the street.
Not slow standing. Not one little hop. Walking.
In the video, Fiona is seen from the leash POV, moving through her neighborhood completely vertical, like a very tall Muppet who remembered she had errands. The audio is Blues Traveler’s “Run Around,” which is already hilarious, because Fiona is literally giving her human the runaround while looking like she escaped from a children’s television set.

♬ Run-Around – Blues TravelerHer arms are what send me. They swing back and forth with the confidence of someone looking for the manager. She is no small dog either. Fiona looks tall enough to get on every ride at the amusement park and possibly play in the NBA.
I would have so many questions.
How did this start?
Can she walk on four legs, or is this just who she is now?
Is she part dog, part Muppet, or part Sleep Paralysis Demon with sass?
Fiona walks like a werewolf from a horror movie #dogwalking #walkingdog #dogsoftiktok #werewolf #scary
♬ Overture – “The Phantom Of The Opera” Original London Cast & Andrew Lloyd WebberThe comments had the same energy. One person basically said it was nice to see their nightmare creature out enjoying sunshine, which is rude but understandable. Someone else suggested this is how werewolf stories begin, and honestly, if Fiona rounded a corner at dusk, local folklore would be updated by morning.
She’s also weirdly graceful. The neighborhood tour continues, and Fiona stays upright like she’s been training for this commute her whole life. It’s bizarre, impressive, and impossible not to replay.
Some dogs chase squirrels. Some dogs sniff mailboxes. Fiona apparently chooses bipedal performance art.

♬ original sound – Oreo Why Do Some Dogs Stand and Walk Upright? An upright dog can be funny, trained, excited, curious, or just showing off a weird little habit. But if your pup suddenly changes how they stand or walk, it’s worth paying attention. AAHA’s common signs of pet pain include reluctance to move, posture changes, stiffness, and trouble with normal movement.
- Look for the pattern. A brief, silly trick is different from a dog who suddenly can’t walk normally on all four legs.
- Don’t force the performance. Walking upright can put extra strain on the back, hips, and hind legs, especially in big dogs.
- Call your vet if it changes. Limping, stiffness, dragging toes, weakness, pain, or hesitation is a good sign that the joke should pause.
Fiona may be serving full Muppet energy, but with any dog, the real goal is to ensure the funny walk is still a comfortable walk.

Stages of Kittenhood Photo by GLADYSTONE FONSECA on UnsplashPhoto by GLADYSTONE FONSECA on Unsplash
Anyone who’s gotten a kitten can tell you that kittenhood doesn’t last nearly long enough, as cats age quickly and reach their maturity around 18 months of age. Growing rapidly, kittens hit new milestones practically every week for over the first year of their life. From birth to adulthood, there are many changes a kitten will experience, and as their human, it’s your job to know what to expect.
The Main Stages of Kittenhood:
- From birth to two weeks is the neonatal stage, when kittens are fully dependent on their mom or a bottle. At this point, their eyes and ears will be shut, and they cannot regulate their own body temperature.
- From three to eight weeks, as their eyes open up and they begin to learn to be more independent, they start to learn how to socialize and grow in their mobility. Their teeth begin to come in, and this is when they can start to learn how to use a litter box. This is also the stage in which weaning to wet food can begin, and first vet checks can occur.
- When they become a “teenager” between three and six months, their baby teeth will start to fall out; they’ll become substantially more playful, and they’ll begin learning the hierarchy between themselves, their humans, and other animals in their life.
- From six to 18 months, a kitten progresses from being a baby to a young adult. This is when they’ll reach sexual maturity and spaying or neutering can occur, and this is also when they reach full behavioral maturity.
Cat/pet ownership is a huge commitment, and it’s important to make sure you’re educated and aware of what is going on with your furry friend no matter their age. It’ll set you up for a successful and delicious life with your pet!
