You know that immediate drop in your stomach when something feels wrong before your brain even catches up? This is that. The kind of video where you instinctively lean closer to your screen, like you can somehow help.

Before you watch, please realize the cat in the video is totally fine, but the clip is still amazingly stressful. UGH.

Almost had a heart attack

The scary video, shared by @skylerbeachh, has a caption that reads, “POV: You come back after someone toured your NYC apartment to this,” and I need you to understand what “this” is. Lulu, a Tabby cat, is outside. Not just outside. On a very high ledge, outside the apartment window, casually existing as if gravity is optional.

Her mom is inside, shaking a food bowl and trying to keep her voice calm while saying, “Lulu, come on,” which might be the most controlled panic I’ve ever seen. Because what else do you even do in that moment? You cannot chase. You cannot yell. You just have to stand there and try to gently convince your kitty not to… fall off a building.

The caption continues, “I almost had a heart attack,” and yes. Same. Everyone did.

People in the comments were absolutely spiraling.

“Please tell me you cussed that realtor out. How did this even happen?” one person wrote, and honestly, valid question.

“You did such a good job staying calm. This video nearly gave me a heart attack,” another added.

“This made my stomach drop. I’m not that person, but I would genuinely complain to whoever hosted that tour,” which feels like a reasonable reaction when your cat ends up on the outside of your apartment.

“As a realtor, I can’t even comprehend this,” one commenter said, which… yeah. Same.

“The way she kept backing out was freaking me out,” and that is the part that gets you. Every tiny movement feels like it could go wrong.

“I’m having a heart attack just watching this,” and “I’m very impressed by your ability to stay calm because I’d be in utter shambles,” which is exactly where I would be. Full meltdown. No composure.

And then, “Cats are so calm, it’s actually irritating,” which is painfully true. Lulu is out there like she pays rent on that ledge.

The whole situation is terrifying, and it seems that it likely happened because someone left a window open during an apartment showing. Which is one of those things you do not think about until you absolutely have to.

House showings can be risky for pets, especially cats who can slip through open doors or windows in seconds. One of the safest options is to take your cat with you during showings, even if it's a short trip.

If that is not possible, keep your kitty in a secure room or a kennel with food, water, and a litter box. A clearly closed space helps prevent accidents when strangers are coming in and out.

Make sure your cat is microchipped and wearing identification, just in case. And always communicate directly with your realtor. Let them know you have a cat and be very clear that all windows and doors must stay closed.

Who needs a trip to the lake or a visit to the aquarium when you've got adorable wildlife swimming in your very own bathtub?

One sweet Golden Retriever puppy is enthralled by watching some adorable ducklings taking a dip in the tub.

In a heartwarming clip from Instagram, we get to watch as a puppy supervises ducklings paddling around and getting their sea legs (or is it tub legs?). Take a look at this incredibly cute scene! We could watch this crew all day.

Naturally, ducklings don't need a lifeguard, but if they did, they'd have a great one in this Golden Retriever!

Viewers appreciate the total concentration this sweet pup brings to the job.

Oh, we have complete faith in you!

We know that Golden Retrievers have a reputation for getting along well with children and other dogs, but how do they really feel about ducks? Surely, not all are as welcoming as the pup in this video, or are they?

It turns out that selecting a duck-friendly breed, such as an Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, English Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Rough Collie, or Shetland Sheepdog, can help. But also, training is key. Ducks can be nervous, especially around other animals they perceive as predators. Always supervise to make sure ducklings are safe and that your pup's hunting instinct doesn't kick in and you're unprepared.

We hope this is the beginning of a lovely friendship for this pup and these ducklings.

Three months ago, a female German shepherd looked like a dog who had given up. Today, she looks like she finally belongs.

In a post shared on Reddit to the r/germanshepherds subreddit, her foster parent showed the incredible transformation she went through in just three months. At first glance, it’s truly hard to believe it’s the same dog in all of the pictures. From scared to happy, meek to excited, her transformation is more than just physical.

The first photo doesn’t show a dog ready for a second chance. In the kennel photo, her coat was thin, patchy and almost disappearing in places. Her posture said everything. Head low. Eyes unsure. A dog who had learned not to expect much. Her name wasn’t even Fruit Bat yet.

Her foster parent decided that Fruit Bat deserved something better than the life she had lived, and they helped transform her into the dog she is today. In the second photo, she looks like a completely different dog. Swipe through the other photos, and you will see what a healthy diet, medicated baths and, most importantly, love can do.

Fruit Bat has completely changed, and people can't stop talking about her glow-up.

In the comments, people commented things like, “Well that both broke and warmed my heart. I hope she finds her forever home soon,” “I'm totally amazed you got her back to a dog,” "I'm in love with this little girl. I just want to cuddle and snuggle her!” and “She deserved so much better than her owner who failed her. Thank you for giving her the love and care she deserves!”

But the biggest change wasn’t her coat. It was the way she stopped bracing for something bad to happen.

Despite everything she went through, this sweet girl still has so much love to give.

In just three months of foster care, the change became undeniable. Her coat started to grow back. Her weight stabilized. Her energy shifted.

You can see it in the before and after photos, but it’s clearer in the small things. The way she stands. The way she looks back at the person behind the camera.

Recovery like this isn’t magic. It’s consistency.

A proper diet rebuilds what the body lost. Medicated baths treat skin issues that don’t fix themselves. Predictable routines lower stress hormones that keep dogs in survival mode.

Most people underestimate how physical neglect and emotional shutdown are connected. When one improves, the other often follows. Fruit Bat didn’t just heal on the outside. She healed on the inside as well.

She didn’t change into a different dog. She finally became the one no one had given her the chance to be.

Kittens are little balls of energy, and they come with all kinds of personalities. Sometimes, the smallest kittens in size have the most surprisingly large attitudes. This can be especially true for feral kittens, those who have no experience with humans and are not quite ready to trust yet. 

In this video, we meet a "spicy" kitten just like that, who hasn't warmed up to humans yet, and instead, comes with a feisty attitude. This little kitty is using hisses instead of purrs, but makes it pretty clear he's really a total softie under it all. Take a look.

TikTok user @cianasfosters shared a video of a small Orange Kitten who had a very big voice, and he was not afraid to use it. He's obviously been through a whole lot, which we can tell from how "spicy" or grumpy he is. And he didn't seem to want anything to do with the person who was caring for him. 

This "grouchy boy" was found during a project a cat rescue organization was undertaking, and they knew he wasn't going to understand what was happening. And they knew he wasn't going to be very happy, which is something the little kitty makes very clear, too. The way his ears are lying sideways, and the grouchy noises coming out of his mouth, are adorable. But he is being very grumpy.

In the comments, thousands of people shared their thoughts on this not-so-sweet kitten who had every right to be as grumpy as he was. There were also a lot of name suggestions, as people had loads of options.

One person wrote, "We had rescued a cat exactly like him, orange and very vocal, so we named him 'Ralph the Mouth.'"

Another shared, "He wants to be big mad, but he's also big cozy."

Someone else added, "Aww, that 4th meowww, oh my goodness. Take special care."

Other comments included, "Cayenne. He’s adorable!" "Sir Racha (sriracha) for the spicy orange boy," "He’s telling you that his name is Ow," "Nacho Cheese Dorito," "His name should be pizza slice," and "He’s so triangle."

It's really hard to see a cat who is so not trusting of humans because you know it's probably for some reason. A lot of the time, all you need is exactly that: time, and a few other tips to help a kitty ease up their fear and start to trust you more. 

According to AlleyCat.org, the first thing you should do when you bring home a cat who is not feeling safe is to put them in a space in the home that will be their hub, with all the things they need, and preferably quiet and away from house noise. 

From there, it's time and a lot of patience. Slowly introduce them to sounds and smells, then to sights, and go from there. 

Many dogs have both a favorite person in their family and a favorite outside of it, whether that’s a friend, a neighbor or even a delivery driver. In Joey the golden retriever’s case, it just happens to be a coffee shop barista.

In a YouTube Short posted by @Joeyhowudoinn, Joey is seen hanging out just outside a coffee shop, clearly on a mission. 

His goal? Get pets from his favorite barista. The catch? Dogs aren’t allowed inside. So Joey improvises. He plants himself right by the entrance, watching the barista’s every move as his tail whips back and forth.

At one point, he casually pretends to sip water nearby. Other times, he simply lingers, making his adorable presence impossible to ignore. As the wait goes on, he starts getting a little impatient, heading back to his mom as if to say, Can you bring him out here, please?

It’s the kind of persistence only a golden retriever could pull off without seeming even slightly rude. And what do you know? It works.

Eventually, Joey’s favorite barista comes outside to greet him, and the moment is exactly what you’d expect. Tail wagging, full-body wiggles, happy barks and then the grand finale: Joey flops onto his back for belly rubs, fully leaning into the moment.

People watching the video were equal parts amused and impressed by Joey’s commitment.

“He knows full well how cute and irresistible he is. Little con artist,” one person wrote in the comments section.

“Barista has more will power than me—I’d have been out that door petting that baby in an instant,” another added. And honestly, they’re not wrong. It’s nearly impossible to resist a golden retriever who’s this determined to say hello.

Another viewer summed it up perfectly, imagining Joey’s inner monologue: “I want pets and you wanna pet me, just come outside and we can make each other's dreams come true.” Facts. 

Dogs are incredibly social animals, and many of them quickly learn which people give the best attention.

Over time, they start to associate certain places—or even specific individuals—with positive experiences, like pets, treats or praise. In Joey’s case, it’s pretty clear he’s figured out that this particular barista delivers top-tier belly rubs.

There’s also a bit of trial-and-error learning at play. Joey likely realized that sticking around increases his chances of getting attention, and now it’s simply part of his routine.

Right now, there’s a dog in a concrete kennel shelter who has been there for over a decade. Not days. Not months. Years—15 years, to be exact.

But things will hopefully change for the better for this dog by the end of the month. A campaign led by Dog the Bounty Hunter has turned that quiet reality into a public mission. The goal is simple, but heavy: find the dog who has waited the longest.

Jordan Trent, founder of Jordan’s Way (a national fundraising tour helping underfunded shelters) has teamed up with Dog the Bounty Hunter for a high-stakes scavenger hunt. From April 1 to April 30, clues are being released to help the public identify the dog. The first clue is in the video below.

Most people assume dogs who wait a long time have serious behavioral issues, but that’s not usually the reason.

Age plays a huge role. Puppies leave first. Senior dogs wait.

Breed matters too. Certain breeds are adopted faster, while others are passed over because of size, reputation or energy level.

Even something as simple as sharing a post increases the chances that the right person sees the right dog. And sometimes, that’s all it takes.

It's been a long road to parenthood for the beloved Bald Eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, but the news coming out of their California nest this past weekend couldn't have been better: two tiny and fabulously fuzzy eaglets were born, one Saturday, April 4, and the other on April 5th, just in time for Easter morning. According to the birth announcement on National Park News, "The healthy chicks are a happy sight for fans of the popular 24/7 livestream of the bald eagle duo in San Bernardino National Forest."

Fans of the family couldn't get over the symbolic timing of the chicks' arrival:

"Love this! Easter Eagles."

"Easter 🦅 Blessings!"

"So precious and born on Easter. Such a proud mama and daddy."

The babies are just days old and thankfully doing well, according to a different video on the official Friends Of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV) account. "Jackie and Shadow’s little eaglets are looking eager and strong. It’s going to be a beautiful, sunny day in Big Bear Valley to watch our Eagle family!"

Eaglets enter the world completely helpless—think wobbly, blind-ish, and 100% dependent on their parents for everything from warmth to their next bite of food. Hatching itself can take hours (sometimes close to two days), and once they’re out, the real work begins.

In those early days, parents carefully tear food into tiny pieces, essentially hand-feeding while the eaglet figures out how to hold its head steady. Growth happens fast. Within a couple of weeks, they can lift their heads; by three weeks, they’re already about a foot tall with impressively oversized feet and beaks.

Feathers—and independence—come in stages. Around three to four weeks, soft gray down appears, followed by darker juvenile feathers between three and six weeks. By about four to six weeks, eaglets can stand and even start tearing into food themselves.

By six weeks, they’re nearly as big as their parents, and by eight weeks, they’re eating constantly and testing out their wings (literally). Around nine to ten weeks, they start “branching”—venturing out onto nearby limbs—which leads to their first flight between 10 and 14 weeks.

Even after fledging, they stick close to home for another month or so, practicing flying and learning to hunt. Because while they may look like mini adults by then, surviving on their own—especially that first winter—is a whole different challenge. But thanks to these incredible livestreams, we'll be watching Jackie, Shadow, and their eaglets every step of the way.

Some of the greatest love stories ever told begin with a simple meeting of the minds, where the chance of sparks flying is palpable. These kismet interactions, especially between the most unlikely souls, don't always fit in a neat little box, but the heart wants what it wants.

This is what Einstein, the WirehairedDachshund, recently experienced during an outing with Mom. Once this mohawk-sporting pup spotted the prettiest Cockatiel in all the land, it truly was love at first sight.

Soulmates. 💕

Like I said, you can't control fate or how love finds you. I'm sure Einstein didn't wake up that day thinking he'd be so smitten with a Cockatiel, but after laying eyes on a bird with the same mohawk, he just *knew* they're meant to be together forever and ever, Amen!

Einstein is the only Wirehaired Dachshund in his doggy-centric household, which includes seven other adorable Doxies and a huge Great Dane to round things out.

We're always happy when Mom @yunabugs shares a small glimpse of what it's like living with such a lively canine crew. Whenever Einstein has special one-on-one time with Mom, it's even better. He's such a kind and gentle soul; it's no wonder he and the bird shared a precious moment.

As cool as it is to watch Einstein fall head over heels for a cute bird, it's not a usual love connection. Dachshunds are generally considered some of the best independent hunters of small prey, particularly dangerous animals, with a high prey drive. The diligent, loyal, sometimes stubborn watchdogs might confuse a pet bird as prey, and if given the chance, they might act on those instincts.

While every pup has their own personality, temperament, and ways of interacting with other animals, the Doxie-and-bird combo isn't a sure thing. For pet parents with a Dachshund thinking about adding a bird to the mix, know your pooch's pros and cons, and as always, supervise any interactions.

Abandoned dogs have to survive on the street, often in horrific living conditions. This is a global crisis, with many canines suffering from illness and malnutrition as they have to fend for themselves with no outside support.

Some animal lovers have come across stray dogs while on vacation and made the spontaneous decision to add a fur baby to their family. Kona was a homeless pooch when she befriended some tourists and ended up with a forever home.

The TikTok from @keira.bo.beira shared the story of how Kona was found in a parking lot in Hawaii and caught the attention of some tourists. A young woman traveling with her mother was smitten with the pooch after crossing paths and decided to get her off the streets.

"Made my mom drive back to the boat harbor and [Kona] was waiting for me in the same spot," the onscreen text explained as the sweet gray and white dog ran to greet her rescuer. Immediately, the vacationers changed their plans so they could bring Kona back to their hotel. "Cancelled our dinner reservations and walked to the subway."

The mother-daughter duo had to sneak the precious pooch past the front desk since the hotel didn't allow pets. Then, Kona got a bath to remove the ticks and black tar on her skin and fur before catching some shuteye in a cozy dog bed.

The family took Kona to the vet for a checkup, then she had to stay at the local pound for five days for full clearance to leave the state. The young woman and her mom extended their vacation while waiting to take Kona home. They even moved to a pet-friendly hotel so Kona could fully enjoy her accommodations.

"Explored the island while waiting for her paperwork to fly home," the story continued as Kona and her new mom joyfully ran in a park and looked over a restaurant menu together.

Finally, the family flew back home to Los Angeles with Kona in tow. The fur baby met her canine siblings and is loving her new life with her forever family.

"Now she sleeps in my bed every night and comes with me to the barn," the text concluded, with the caption adding, "My baby Kona."

Thanks to these caring women and their selflessness in altering their vacation, Kona is now living the life she deserves.

Dogs are very empathetic and can pick up on our discomfort. Yet sometimes they misinterpret everyday situations as a sign of distress and feel the need to step in. That protective side of canines sometimes kicks in even when intervention isn't necessary.

Goose the Boxer seems to get upset whenever her mom has to burp her human baby brother, prompting her canine brother Rooster to calm her down.

Goose's mom was on the couch with her baby boy in the TikTok from @amoneyroorda. She repeatedly patted the baby on his back in an effort to get him to burp, prompting some fussing from the little boy.

The Boxer heard the baby's protests and tried to put a stop to the belching protocol. Goose reprimanded her mom with a disconcerted expression and some barking.

"I'm just burping him, I'm not hurting him," Goose's mom reassured as the dog continued her vocal disapproval. "He's fine."

Despite her mom's attempts to appease her, Goose wasn't buying it and approached her mom in a plea to halt the entire burping process. Her fur baby brother Rooster saw Goose's genuine concern and knew it was time to step up.

The black and white dog placed a paw on Goose's back, hoping to both stop her and comfort her at the same time. Rooster seemed to be saying, "Hey, it's okay. This is what moms do."

The caption confirmed that everything was okay with the baby, stating, "He’s fine — just won’t burp."

Followers raved over the compassionate canines and guessed at what went through Rooster's mind.

Ferb, a 10-year-old senior dog who became a favorite at the local Station Five fire station in St. Charles, Missouri, didn’t change who he was to get adopted. He just finally ended up somewhere that understood him.

Ferb spent many years at Five Acres Animal Shelter, according to an article from InvestigateTV. He had been adopted and returned twice, but then, finally, the kennel door opened and he found his forever home.

Ferb’s turning point didn’t happen in a single moment. It built slowly, visit by visit, as firefighters kept coming back.

Everything started when the local firefighters learned about Ferb’s obsession with sirens. According to the shelter, whenever a fire truck passed by with its sirens, he would let out a howl. When people at the fire station learned about his behavior, they invited him to the station. They even celebrated his birthday together there.

Soon, Ferb began visiting the firefighters weekly with trips to the firehouse. The station provided something he didn’t have at the shelter: routine, structure, timing and knowing his role. He fit into their rhythm immediately.

At the fire station, Ferb got his own bed, and would greet firefighters with a wagging tail every time they came back from a mission.

It didn’t take long for people to notice that Ferb is an awesome dog once he was out of the kennel. With the firefighters, he was getting plenty of attention.

Two weeks after his story aired, a couple contacted the shelter about Ferb. They saw the story, and said, “He looked like a good dog, and we loved his name.”

Once the kennel door finally opened for Ferb and his forever home, we can be sure he couldn’t stop wagging his tail going into his new home.

The news story said he has a new favorite place: the kitchen, a place where he patiently waits for treats.

After waiting 10 years to find his forever home, we're so happy he finally found his because every dog deserves a chance at a happy life.

The comments immediately turned it into a full personality.

“How I look when I’m congested,” one person wrote, and honestly, that is exactly the face. Just fully blocked, no thoughts getting through.

“Me, when someone talks to me in the morning,” which feels a little too real. No eye contact. No conversation. Just survival.

“Get that baby to sleep!” someone begged, and yes. Please. He has done enough.

“Me, hungover the next day thinking I really didn’t need that last shot,” another added, which… yeah. That tracks.

“Me waking up at 7 p.m. after saying I was taking a 2-hour nap at 2 p.m.,” and suddenly this dog is all of us.

And then, “When my husband tells me to watch his golf video,” which might be the most specific and accurate one of all.

I keep staring at his face because it somehow gets worse the longer I look. The eyes drifting. The tiny mouth. The general vibe of “Please stop judging me.” If I looked like this, I would simply cancel the day and crawl back into bed. For a week.

Did you know? 🐾 Dogs generally sleep for 12 to 14 hours a day on average, although this can vary significantly with age, with puppies and senior dogs needing more sleep (up to 18-20 hours) and working or smaller breeds potentially sleeping less. Dogs' sleep patterns are different from humans, involving frequent naps throughout the day and night, and proper rest is crucial for their physical and mental health, including immune function and repair. So try not to wake a sleeping dog… they NEED it.

Adult dogs typically need around 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day, though it can vary depending on their age, breed, and activity level. Smaller breeds like Shih-Tzus can sometimes sleep even more, especially if they are living a very demanding life of… being carried around and judging everyone.

Pups don't sleep in one long stretch like humans. Instead, they nap throughout the day, which is why you will often see them fully passed out one minute and ready to go the next.

If a dog looks especially exhausted, like this little guy, it could just mean he had a busy day, did a lot of playing, or is simply in a deep rest cycle. Puppies and senior dogs tend to sleep even more as their bodies grow or slow down.

As long as your furbaby is eating well, active when awake, and not showing signs of illness, a lot of sleep is usually completely normal.

That said, if your dog ever looks like they are actively fighting to stay conscious like this… maybe just let them nap. Immediately.

A new month means a new set of toys for my pup Winnie, and one of her squeaky animals has already been through the wringer.

Friendships can form in the most unexpected places—like this one, which began in a veterinary hospital during recovery.

At a vet hospital run by Maryland-based animal rescue Last Chance Animal Rescue, a young dog named Blueberry and a kitten named Meadow were both healing from life-changing injuries.

Blueberry, a 1-year-old French Bulldog mix, had one of her front legs amputated after being found on the side of the road with serious injuries. Meadow, a 7-month-old black kitten, also underwent an amputation after arriving at the rescue with part of her hind leg missing.

Both were adjusting to life as “tripods,” and somewhere in that process, they found each other.

“They met while recovering at our vet hospital and quickly became inseparable—two three-legged survivors learning how to navigate the world again, side by side,” the rescue shared on Facebook. 

Meadow, described by the rescue as a bit of a “kitty ambassador,” would visit and comfort other animals recovering from surgery. Typically, the other animals wouldn't engage with Meadow much, but with Blueberry, the connection was mutual.

The two began spending more and more time together—playing, cuddling and simply existing side by side as they healed. It was as if they were helping each other through it.

As Blueberry and Meadow got stronger, the rescue had one big hope: that they might be adopted together. It wasn’t a requirement, but it was clear just how much they meant to each other.

And then, the right people came along. After seeing their story, a Maryland couple stepped forward to adopt both animals, recognizing that their bond was something special. The couple already had experience caring for a three-legged pet—their tripod cat named Cici, who they adopted in 2023—making them a perfect fit.

“Now settling into their new home with two feline siblings (including a fellow tripod!), they’ve been home for almost a week and are doing great,” the rescue wrote in a follow-up Facebook post. 

Blueberry and Meadow’s story is heartwarming, but it’s also a reminder of how resilient animals can be.

Despite trauma, surgery and major life changes, both of them have continued to show curiosity, affection and an ability to form deep bonds.

Ultimately, this story is a wonderful reminder that healing doesn’t just come from time—it can also come from having someone by your side who understands. For these two best friends, that’s exactly what they found in each other.

Here's what makes this play session so significant: mama bears don't just protect their cubs—they actively teach and engage with them. A day in the life of Baby Corn is something magical. The rescue cat with the cutest wobbly walk continues winning fans over with every new experience (me included). Though Mom never thought to gift Corn a ball, he clearly knew exactly what to do with it—and look at that soccer-level footwork!

Having followed Corn's journey from the start, it's a wonderful thing to see him so excited about every new toy, activity, or interaction. The Black Cat with the lookalike stuffies puts everything he has into every moment, reminding us all to enjoy the little things more often.

Corns wobbly ways are actually a noncontagious, nonprogressive neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). This is when the part of the brain that controls balance and coordination (the cerebellum) is underdeveloped at birth. Since the brain stops growing, it remains in an immature state.

The result is a "wobbly" kitty whose movements are jerky and cartoonish, sometimes with tremors or falling over, but it doesn't worsen over time.

The severity of this condition depends on how far along in development the kitten is in utero before Mom is infected with the viral infection that causes it. Then, she may pass it down to unborn babies.

The good news is that Corn is thriving and living his best life. Maybe one day we'll catch him kicking the soccer ball around with the pros!

As someone who loves all animals, I get a slew of mixed emotions watching rescues. We're so happy that the animals are being removed from something that's not safe, but it's also really hard to see their appearance not being treated the way they should be. On April 1, @tabbyseigfried, a marine biologist working in sea turtle rehabilitation and conservation, shared a video about a sea turtle named Syrena, who was exhibiting symptoms of debilitated turtle syndrome (DTS), according to the video. They're not sure what causes DTS, but once they found Syrena and saw she was covered in barnacles, the rescue team went right to work. 

Over the course of 92 days, the team worked to bring Syrena out of the danger zone since the survival rate is only 20%, she explained. They were thankfully able to "bring her back to life," and she looks so much healthier now.

In the comments, people were encouraged to ask questions, and they had a lot of them. 

One person asked, "Thank you for all the hard work in saving these turtles! Is there any way we can help support your work?" Tabby answered her question, sharing that the "best way is to spread awareness."

Another wrote, "What’s her estimated age? Survival likelihood after release? Did she spend time in a freshwater tank to make barnacle removal easier?" Tabby explained that they can't estimate her age, but they believe she is an adult. 

Someone else shared, "I’m so glad she’s healthy. On my island, we have so many turtles, and they truly are magical creatures."

Other comments included, "Thank you for all of your hard work!! Super inspirational," and "Thank you so much." And a lot of people asked for videos of them removing all the barnacles.

In a previously published video, we learn how the conservation team came across Syrena and saw footage of them pulling her into the boat. 

We found her struggling nearshore — weak and in desperate need of help. Without a second thought, I jumped in. That’s what you do when you care deeply about sea turtles and the ocean they call home. Since then, she’s been receiving the critical care she needs to stabilize — but she’s not out of the woods yet. Her condition is still very serious, and we’re monitoring her closely every day. Despite it all, she’s already carved out a special place in my heart. According to the video, the marine biologists found the sea turtle near the shore and struggling. They jumped in to help her onto the boat so they could attempt to save her life, unsure if that would be possible given how much she was struggling. She immediately received "critical care she needs to stabilize" and described her condition as being "very serious."

But thankfully, with the incredible strength Syrena showed and the dedicated team, she's on the upswing, and that's amazing!
