This Labrador Has One Job at Fetch—Ruining It for the Golden Retriever
Playing fetch with a Golden Retriever usually feels like a pretty safe bet. They’re built for it emotionally. You throw the ball, they light up, they retrieve it with joy, and everybody has a wholesome little moment.
Unless there’s a Labrador involved.
Then all bets, balls, and pool turns are apparently off.
@rachaelsteinlePiper has given up #lab #golden #dogsoftiktok
♬ original sound - rachaelsteinleIn this video, Piper, the Golden Retriever, is trying to enjoy what should be a very simple game. Mom throws a ball pretty far for Lady, the Black Lab, who immediately takes off after it. That should be Piper’s opening. Lady is busy. The pool is clear. Another ball is available. This is finally Piper’s time.
For about half a second.
Mom tosses a ball into the pool for Piper, but before Piper can fully process her opportunity, Lady has somehow returned from her other mission, launched herself into the water, and stolen that ball, too!
The caption on the video sets it up perfectly: Trying to play fetch with a Golden Retriever when there’s a Lab in the mix is not really fetch.
It’s more like fetch with a tiny black hole that absorbs every ball within a 40-foot radius.
Piper’s reaction is what makes it. She really doesn’t seem that shocked. The post caption says Piper has basically surrendered, and you can see it in her whole body. This isn't her first meeting with the Department of Labrador Interference.
She knows the system is broken.
A comment joked that Piper seemed to realize there was no point in chasing anything because Lady was already on her way back. Piper has done the math. Why run? Why swim? Why believe in fairness? Lady is already airborne, probably with two balls and a backup plan.
I find the difference between the two dogs absolutely hilarious. Piper has Golden Retriever softness. She looks like she would enjoy a turn-based activity with rules, emotional balance, and maybe a nice compliment afterward.
Lady, meanwhile, is running a hostile takeover of fetch.
And yet, you can’t really be mad at her. Labs are famously overly enthusiastic, and Lady is giving 110% to every single ball, even the ones that were absolutely not meant for her. Is she being rude? Technically, yes. Is she also deeply committed to the sport? Also yes.
It’s not just a dog stealing a ball. It’s a full sibling dynamic in 12 seconds. One pup is trying to participate. The other is winning a game no one else agreed to play.
Piper may have given up, but she also gave us the perfect face of someone who has accepted that her coworker is doing too much.
Lady got the ball.
Piper got the sympathy.
Honestly, both girls won.
How To Keep Fetch Fun With Multiple DogsIf you have more than one dog, fetch can get chaotic quickly. Some dogs love the chase so much that they’ll steal every turn without meaning to. You can help by using separate toys, giving each pup their own space, or taking turns so the quieter dog still gets a fair chance to play.
The AKC shares that fetch can be a great way to exercise and bond with your dog, but the game works best when your pooch understands the basics and stays engaged in a healthy way.
If one dog keeps taking over, don’t punish the enthusiasm. Just add structure. Piper deserves a turn, and Lady clearly needs about 14 extra balls.

Great Pyrenees Is So White and Fluffy, She Looks Like a 'Domesticated Polar Bear'
There's a white, fluffy Great Pyrenees named Pippa who has something to say, and she wants you to know it.
Pippa is so massive and so fluffy, like a white cloud, that the people in the comments section of the video below have a lot to say about this beautiful Great Pyrenees—even comparing her to a "highly domesticated Polar Bear."
@pippathepyreneesBarking just because she can at this point #greatpyrenees #dogsoftiktok #bark
♬ original sound - Pippa & KylieAnother commenter agreed that Pippa is, in fact, a Polar Bear.
Her stature and size, and of course, the white fluffiness, do make her a Polar Bear doppelganger.
Another person wrote, "Oh… the Pyr temper tantrum. I know it well!"
And going back to the cloud comparison, another person wrote, "It’s a cloud with legs and an attitude."
Apparently, this friendly, bullying attitude is common among the Great Pyrenees breed, according to the comments section, as another person wrote, "This is my Pyr, and I love him very much, but GAH DAYUM is he loud. They bark to hear their own voices, ISTG. He also throws the nastiest side-eye."
Finally, another favorite comment is this perfect description of Pippa: "100 lbs of floof."

Are Great Pyrenees Good Family Dogs? What To KnowThough Pippa may be having a bit of a diva moment in this viral video, you might be wondering if Great Pyrenees dogs are overall good for families.
According to VetsExplainPets.com, the answer is yes.
They are very affectionate dogs who love people, including children.
And though this video may suggest otherwise, Great Pyrenees are actually very calm and gentle pups.
They love to lounge all around the house if you're looking for a cuddle buddy!
But at the same time, they are excellent guard dogs.
Their imposing size and prominent bark definitely make them the perfect protectors.
The only thing that may stress out Great Pyrenees dog parents is that they can be loud barkers, and if it's not controlled, it may annoy neighbors.
Another possible issue is that their beautiful, fluffy, cloud-like coats mean a lot of shedding.
Otherwise, they're the perfect family dogs, even when they bark at you in the kitchen!

14-Year-Old Blind and Deaf Cat 'Still Has a Strong Will to Live' Despite Ending Up in a Shelter
Senior dogs and cats in shelters often get passed over for adoption due to their age and potential health issues. These wonderful fur babies hope for a forever home just like their younger furry friends and have so much to offer a loving family.
Joe is a 14-year-old blind and deaf cat currently staying at the NAWS Humane Society. Despite his senior status and physical challenges, this sweet cat has more life left to live.
@franflightJoe deserves to live whatever time he has left in a comfortable home. We should have Joe’s bloodwork results back tomorrow, but for now he’s comfortable with us. Animal control said that Joe has a, “strong will to live”… and that’s where the water works started. Joe primarily sleeps throughout the day, except for meal time of course. If you are willing to make Joe apart of your home regardless of his medical/hospice state please e-mail me directly or message me. I’m sending you guys all of my love as always. Let’s find Joe’s person. 🥹🤍🫂 #adopt #adoptdontshop #cat #catsoftiktok #catadoption
♬ Sand Drawing - Judah EarlThe TikTok from @franflight told Joe's story and gave some details on his medical condition.
"Joe is blind and deaf," the on-screen text shared as the NAWS staff member spent some one-on-one time with the pretty kitty. "At 14 years old, he's at the shelter. We are anticipating that Joe will become a hospice cat as we wait for his bloodwork to come back."
The feline fur baby was found as a stray, so the shelter doesn't have extensive background information on Joe's history. He is not neutered and is positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
In spite of these issues, Joe clearly has a huge heart and a sense of adventure, and animal control officers noted that he has a “strong will to live.”
"We do know that Joe is a great lap cat," the story continued. "He has a great appetite, and he likes to explore."
What to Know Before Adopting a Senior Cat With Special NeedsParenting a special-needs cat comes with challenges and a great deal of responsibility. Some things to consider before adopting one of these wonderful cats include:
- Commitment — These felines often require daily medication, prescription diets, regular grooming and bathing, and environmental modification.
- Safe environment — Specific safeguarding is sometimes necessary such as blocked access to stairs and windows, special food bowls, and easily accessible litter boxes.
- Cost — Some special needs cats require frequent veterinary care, medication, and prescription diet, which can impact finances.
- Advanced care — Injections and other procedures may be necessary to administer at home, so make sure you are comfortable with what is required.

Caring for these wonderful cats is a rewarding experience and provides these loving felines with a full and happy life. Being aware of everything involved in their care can help you decide if you are ready for this special role.
Joe is still hoping for his forever home and is getting the care he needs while he waits.
"We love you Joe," the video concluded. "We will find you a home soon."

8 Human Foods You Didn't Know Were Highly Toxic to Cats
Cats are mischievous and sneaky creatures, and most of the time, that kind of behavior means you're in for funny moments and a little troublemaking. However, that sly nature also means you have to be wary of leaving food out on the table or counter. Your curious feline may try and steal a bite, but not all of the foods we eat as humans are cat-safe. In fact, some of them can actually be toxic to our furry friends.
Even when they don't look interested, cats have their eye on our food, and like any pet, they'll stop at nothing to sneak a bite. While there are certainly foods you can safely share with your cat, others are considered highly toxic to your feline friend. These toxic human foods could very well be sitting in your pantry or kitchen right now, making them easy targets for a curious cat at any time. Experts agree that foods toxic to cats should be stored out of reach, but as any cat parent knows, accidents may happen.

Knowing exactly what to store and keep away from your cat's reach is the best way to protect your pet. These are the eight human foods veterinary experts say are toxic to cats. Know them so you can keep your cat healthy and safe.
Why Cats Can’t Process Our LeftoversKari Shea/Unsplash
It's not uncommon for cat parents to cave when their feline has them wrapped around their little paws (no shame in that). However, even when leftovers mean just a small bite, that still doesn't make them a safe option for cats because even a tiny taste can be toxic.
"The foods we eat contain a lot of different ingredients that don’t always agree with a cat’s digestive system," says Dr. Chyrle Bonk, a veterinarian at Embrace Pet Insurance. She adds that foods that are heavy in carbohydrates can be difficult for cats to digest, while other common ingredients found in your pantry or kitchen can be toxic because cats don't have the enzymes they need to break certain foods or ingredients down. Even foods that aren't considered highly toxic may still cause digestive issues for your cat, even in small amounts.
Why Cats Are Especially Vulnerable to ToxinsCintya Marisa/Unsplash
Cats may have a reputation for being independent and resilient, but their biology actually makes them quite susceptible to certain toxins.
“Cats have some unique metabolic characteristics that make them sensitive to certain compounds,” says Dr. Joy Myers, a veterinarian on Vetster. “They are also meticulous groomers, which means substances on the skin or fur may eventually be ingested.”
That said, Dr. Myers notes that cats tend to be more selective eaters than dogs. While a dog might rummage through the trash, your cat is far less likely to seek out food there or off the street, though that doesn't mean they won't find other ways to get into things they shouldn't.

Toxic Human Foods for CatsThese are the toxic human foods that can be harmful to your cat. Here's what to know to keep your feline friend healthy and safe.
Bonesokeykat/Unsplash
Bones aren't toxic in the traditional sense, but they can still be very dangerous for cats. As Dr. Myers explains, cooked bones can fracture, cause choking, or lead to gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation. It's best to keep leftover or discarded bones well out of your cat's reach.
Grapes and RaisinsGünter Hoffmann/Unsplash
While the dangers of grapes and raisins are well documented in dogs, exactly how they affect cats is still being studied. Despite this, researchers have determined that they can still be dangerous.
“Nevertheless, ingestion should still be taken seriously because kidney injury has been reported in other species and the exact mechanism remains poorly understood,” Dr. Myers says.
Though more research is needed, it’s always best to steer on the side of caution and keep grapes and raisins safely locked away from your cat.
Raw Bread DoughNadya Spetnitskaya/Unsplash
Unlike some of the other items on this list, raw bread dough can create direct toxicity inside your cat's body. Dr. Myers says that yeast dough can expand in their stomach while simultaneously producing alcohol through fermentation, both of which are extremely dangerous and toxic to cats.
AlcoholMatthieu Joannon/Unsplash
As with the majority of pets, alcohol is a toxin to cats.
“Cats are sensitive to alcohol, and their small size puts them at risk with even small amounts,” Dr. Myers says. “Beer, wine, liquor, raw bread dough and foods containing alcohol can cause profound neurologic depression, low blood sugar, respiratory failure and other serious complications.”
To prevent accidents from happening, it’s best to keep your alcoholic drinks covered or away from the reach of cats.
Chocolate and CaffeineTowfiqu barbhuiya/Unsplash
When it comes to anything containing chocolate or caffeine, your cat's sneakiness is your biggest concern. Dr. Myers says that chocolate, energy drinks, tea and supplements containing methylxanthines are highly toxic to cats and can trigger vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal heart rhythms, tremors, seizures and potentially life-threatening complications.
Onions, Garlic and Similar Plantsmayu ken/Unsplash
Anything from the allium family—such as onions, garlic, chives and leeks—should be kept far away from your feline friends. These plants and spices can damage red blood cells and cause anemia in cats, Dr. Myers says.
This applies not just to the whole foods themselves, but also to soups, gravies, seasoning packets, baby foods and table scraps that contain them as ingredients too.
Excessively Fatty FoodsThomas Park/Unsplash
While very delicious to humans, excessively fatty foods aren’t the best human foods to keep around cats. “Fatty leftovers such as bacon grease, turkey skin or large amounts of table scraps are not necessarily 'toxic,' but they may trigger vomiting, diarrhea or pancreatitis in susceptible cats,” Dr. Myers says. Just like with grapes and raisins, it’s best to be cautious with these foods rather than risk any potential harm to your cat.
Products Containing XylitolElsa Olofsson/Unsplash
Xylitol may not be a household name, but it's a common sugar substitute found in gums, mints, candies, baked goods and some peanut butters. While it's perhaps better known as a toxin for dogs, cats exposed to xylitol should still be evaluated by a veterinarian or poison control expert if they ingest a food item containing this sugar substitute.
The Early Warning Signs of Feline ToxicityEmily Crawford/Unsplash
Many of the early warning signs of feline toxicity will depend on the type of toxin they consume. While some may have more visible symptoms, other symptoms may fly under the radar.
“Signs of toxicity will depend on what your cat ate, but may include drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, incoordination or lethargy,” Dr. Bonk says.
Many of these symptoms may be confused for other medical issues, making it even more vital to keep a close watch on what your cat is consuming.
Why You Shouldn't Wait for Symptoms to AppearTran Mau Tri Tam ✪/Unsplash
Although the symptoms of toxicity might be your first sign that your cat has ingested something it shouldn’t have, they might be appearing too late. Dr. Bonk says that by the time symptoms appear, it’s typically too late to decontaminate their stomachs before it’s fully absorbed into their system.
What to Do If Your Cat Eats Something Toxic (Hint: Act Fast)Monkey Business Images/Shutterstock.com
Acting fast is the key to protecting your cat after eating something toxic. Instead of waiting to see if symptoms develop, Dr. Bonk suggests that you “contact your veterinarian or the Pet Poison Hotline immediately, even if you’re unsure if it’s toxic or not. They will direct you on what actions to take next depending on what your cat ate and when.”
Our feline friends can be mischievous, but when it comes to food, a firm watch is your best protection. Not every toxic food contains life-threatening ingredients, but all of them can escalate into dangerous situations. When it comes to your cat's diet, it's always best to err on the side of caution and stick to foods developed specifically for cats.

This Considerate Golden Retriever Never Finishes Her Food Without Leaving a Sweet Surprise for Her Sister
Most dogs hear one piece of kibble hit the floor and respond like they've been called into emergency service.
That's why Shayla the Golden Retriever's bowl boundaries feel suspiciously pure.
The video starts with the camera looking down at Shayla and her food bowl, where one lonely little piece of kibble is still sitting. She's beside it, giving the kind of puppy dog eyes that should probably be regulated, because I don't know anyone who can be expected to survive that much sweetness without emotional consequences.
@mandamcmull12My shaylaaaa😭😭 she does this every single meal #fyp #foryou #goldenretriever #dogsoftiktok
♬ original sound - MandaHer human explains in the video caption that Shayla always leaves at least one piece behind for her sister to eat. Not sometimes. Not once by accident. Every meal.
I don’t know what kind of advanced Golden Retriever kindness program Shayla graduated from, but I would like Lola to audit the class. My dog is many wonderful things, but “altruistic with leftovers” is not currently one of them. Her siblings know to give her a wide berth because any unattended kibble is not a gift. It's a target.
Shayla, however, appears to be operating on a different moral plane.
The post caption makes it even sweeter because her human says Shayla does this at every single meal, with the kind of emotional disbelief only a pet parent can understand. You can tell this isn’t just cute to them. It gets them every time. And, same. Videos like this get me in a way I’m not fully prepared to defend in public.
Then her sister walks up.
That’s the moment the whole thing becomes almost too much. Shayla doesn’t guard the bowl. She doesn’t change her mind. She just lets Sissy come over and take the kibble waiting for her.
It's such a tiny gesture, but that's what makes it feel so big. One bite of food isn't a feast. It's not some grand act. It's just a small habit that seems to say, "I thought of you."
One comment basically reduced this to “this is why dogs are everything,” and that feels like the right summary. Shayla isn’t doing anything flashy. She’s not performing a trick. She’s just showing us a little piece of her personality, one kibble at a time.
Maybe it’s a learned routine. Maybe it’s sisterly love. Maybe Shayla just likes seeing Sissy come over for the last bite.
Whatever the reason, the result is ridiculously tender.
Goldens already have a reputation for being sweet, but Shayla is out here building a case file. Those eyes. That one kibble. That patient little wait for her sister.
Some dogs steal snacks.
Shayla saves them.
How Dogs Show Each Other AffectionDogs can show affection in quiet ways, from sharing space and gentle body language to playful routines and little habits they repeat every day. If you have multiple pups, it’s still smart to supervise feeding, give each dog enough room, and watch for any tension around bowls. Even sweet habits work best when everyone feels safe.
VCA Hospitals explains that regular feeding routines can help dogs know what to expect and support healthy mealtime habits.
- Stick to a regular feeding schedule.
- Use meals to support training.
- Watch for changes in appetite.
- Feed at least twice a day when possible.
Shayla’s routine just happens to include saving one perfect little bite for her sister, which is frankly unfair to anyone with tear ducts.

Super Rare Piebald Fawn Looks Just Like a Vintage Doll
Deer are beautiful animals and can look very similar to each other. However, there are actually 43 different species that make up the entire deer family. Some stand out more than others, boasting enormous antlers or a unique pattern of spots.
This stunning piebald fawn recently wandered onto a rescue farm and could make anyone stop and stare.
@laurynnico“Lost and found”, yes, that’s his name and he is THE TINIEST little piebald fawn I have ever seen here @Magnolia Fawn Rescue He’s so darling 😍😍 #fyp #babydeer #piebald #rescue
♬ original sound - journeytohealingherIn the TikTok from @laurynnico, the camera closed in on an absolutely striking white baby fawn with two small black spots on either side of his head. His dark brown eyes were like huge, glossy chestnuts that could mesmerize whoever captures his glance. The darling deer's black nose and hooves were in sharp contrast to his snowy fur.
Apparently, the piebald fawn was on the very small side and earned a unique name from his rescuers.
"The tiniest piebald fawn we've ever had," the on-screen text shared, with the caption adding, "'Lost and found', yes, that’s his name and he is THE TINIEST little piebald fawn I have ever seen here at Magnolia Fawn Rescue. He’s so darling."
Followers were completely smitten with the unique fur baby and questioned if he may be a beautifully designed toy:
- "He doesn't even look real! He's a fairy creature, right?! What a beautiful baby," one gushed.
- "Looks like a vintage deer doll," another remarked.
- "The most beautiful fawn I've ever seen," a follower raved.
- "Name him Jingle Bells or Snow or Holly — something Christmasy," someone suggested.
- "So tiny he almost looks fake," a fan noted.
Less than 1 percent of the white-tailed deer populations is affected by piebaldism, making Lost and Found an incredibly rare fawn.
Piebaldism is caused by a recessive genetic trait that both parents must carry to produce a piebald fawn. Still, a piebald doe can reproduce a normal fawn, and a normal doe with the genetic mutation can give birth to a normal and a piebald fawn in the same litter.

3-Week-Old Maine Coon Kittens Discover a Cat Gym and It's Pure Chaos
For the first few days of their lives, Maine Coon kittens have their eyes sealed shut, their ears folded flat, and they're blind and can't hear or regulate their own body temperature.
But by the time Maine Coon kittens are 3 weeks old, they've had some pretty important kitten development take place physically and mentally.
In a new viral video, we see some very cute Maine Coon kittens exploring a cat gym for the first time, and their reactions will keep you very entertained.

And how cute are those tiny black and gray Maine Coon kittens with their piercing blue eyes, exploring the gym in a chaotic but calm manner.
They are all quite curious!
One of the kittens is especially brave and ventures off the gym to find his mom, Luna.
Though she was enjoying finally eating a meal in peace since her kittens were distracted, she seemed happy when this brave little kitten came over to find her.
Related: Stunning Maine Coon Kitten Has the Most Perfect 'Ocean Eyes'
When Do Maine Coon Kittens Start Exploring?According to Maine Coon cat breeder Sassy Koonz, Maine Coon kittens begin experiencing significant growth right around 3 weeks of age, which is the age of the kittens featured in the video.
This is when they start actively walking and playing, so a cat gym is super entertaining for them.
These kittens are probably close to 2 pounds at this point.
It's amazing to think that when these tiny Maine Coon kittens are fully grown, the females will be between 12 and 15 pounds, and the males will reach between 18 and 22 pounds.
When they hit 5 weeks old, the kittens will start weaning off their mom, eating real food, getting all their vaccines, and becoming more socialized.
Then, by 8 weeks old, they will truly resemble real kittens with individual personalities and become even more confident and outgoing.
They will also develop that classic Maine Coon face with those lynx-like ears.

♬ original sound - pendiprintsFor some context, Reese, who appears to be a Dachshund mix of some kind, has become a foil for the lies of one of the castmates, West Wilson.
Wilson has been telling the rest of the cast as well as the world about when he started having an affair with castmate Amanda Batula, who only recently separated from her husband and longtime Summer House star Kyle Cooke.
You can see in this now-viral moment that Reese has clearly met Wilson many times and is quite friendly with him, even though Wilson says they never met.
The little dog just gave the whole thing away! Go Reese!
It's a pop culture and pet crossover!

How Can You Tell When a Dog Recognizes Someone?Though Wilson tries to deny that he has interacted with Reese, the Summer House dog, before, clearly, this is a lie.
The little pup is showing clear signs of recognition as his tail is wagging. He ran right toward Wilson, showing excited body language and leaning in for affection.
Reese is climbing all over Wilson, much to his chagrin.
Dogs can recognize people through scent as well as memories for years, and Reese obviously knows Wilson, as he has been in this apartment before with his mom, Batula.
As you can see in this other clip, Reese gets belly rubs from Wilson, and Cooke says, "She obviously knows you."

Drama, drama, drama!
In one more clip, Cooke talks to Reese about his sudden viral fame, and that he clearly knew Wilson, and the jig is up.

Deaf Australian Cattle Dog Who's Never Heard Another Dog Bark Makes the Funniest Beeping Noises
If you're watching animal videos with the sound off, stop what you're doing immediately and turn it up.
Seriously.
Because one adorable deaf Australian Cattle Dog named Boomer is making noises so unexpectedly hilarious that people across the internet are laughing until they cry.
Australian Cattle Dogs are already known for having huge personalities, but Boomer's unique little voice is proving that dogs don't need to hear other dogs to figure out how to communicate. Sometimes they simply invent their own sound effects and carry on with life.
@faith_sheerNobody taught him what a dog is supposed to sound like 😭😭#deafdog #heeler #australiancattledog #rescuedog
♬ the only exception - Acoustic Instrumental - Guus Dielissen & Casper EsmannThe adorable clip was shared by @faith_sheer, whose deaf dog Boomer has never heard another dog bark.
According to the caption:
"My deaf dog barking is my favorite sound. No one taught him what a dog is."
And honestly, that sentence alone almost made me emotional.
Related: Deaf Cat Realizes His Mom Is Home, and the Sound He Makes Is Melting Hearts
The video shows Boomer happily out on a walk, enthusiastically "barking."
Except instead of traditional woofs, the sweet pup produces a collection of noises that sound more like tiny car horns and malfunctioning squeaky toys.
"BEEP."
"BLEH."
"BOOP."
I swear one of them sounded like a microwave letting us know the popcorn is ready.
The Comments Section Absolutely Lost It:- "I can't breathe lmao between the 'BLEH' and 'BOOP' are killing meee."
- "My favourite bark is 'BLEH.'"
- "Y'all are going crazy over 'BLEGH' but what about 'BOOP.'"
- "OMG this is amazing. I've never seen a deaf dog bark and I'm a vet."
- "'BEH. BEP.' That's right, you tell 'em!"
- "He sounds like a toy."
- "Straight up hootin and hollerin."
- "Sounded like a car horn on a few 'BEEP.'"
- "That's the cutest bark I've ever heard."
Honestly, I don't think Boomer realizes he's doing anything unusual.
He's just out there having opinions and sharing them with the world one tiny beep at a time.
And frankly, I support whatever message he's trying to communicate.
Even if nobody knows what it is.
How Deaf Dogs Adapt So Well @faith_sheerBoomer does not know what TikTok is #deafdog #blueheeler #australiancattledog
♬ Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) - Ultimate Mix - John LennonDeaf dogs are incredibly adaptable and often live happy, full lives. They rely heavily on visual cues, vibrations, scent, and routine to understand the world around them.
Many deaf dogs communicate differently than hearing dogs and may develop unique vocalizations, just like Boomer.
Their disabilities rarely slow them down.
They just find their own way of doing things.
And apparently, sometimes that way sounds like a tiny Toyota backing up.

Feral Cat Moved Her Kittens Into a Stranger's Yard—and the Resident Cat Had a Lot To Do With It
When Fluffy, the feral cat, decided it was time to move, she didn't just find a new home—she found a boyfriend, a stepdad for her four kittens, and a family who welcomed all of them in.
Watch as this amazing cat mom carefully carries each kitten to their new home, one by one:
@katiec2501Fluffy the feral crossed my yard today… and what happened next completely caught me off guard. 🙀🐾 • #cats #catsoftiktok #cat #kittensoftiktok feralcat
♬ suono originale - sophia ★Fluffy, the stray cat, must've known that TikTok user @katiec2501 would welcome her with open arms, because that's exactly what happened. What began as Fluffy experimenting with different neighborhood homes, garages, and gated yards ended with her choosing the most perfect place to raise her babies.
As she takes each stray kitten to their new digs, she does a quick scan of her surroundings and has a look of "Yep, this is it—we're moving in!" Katie replied in the comments that Fluffy "really did pick the softest spot she could find," adding, "I’m still amazed she trusted me enough to bring them here."
This is a heartwarming scene, but Fluffy's story gets even better. Before officially claiming this family's yard, she met and fell in love with the resident cat, Bardi.

Bardi has been neutered, so Fluffy's kittens have a different cat daddy somewhere out there. But the smitten boy's affection for his one and only may be the very reason Fluffy chose his residence. He may not be the dad, but he's the dad who stepped up!
Bardi isn't interacting with the kittens just yet, but he's ready when they are. Here's the moment Bardi and Fluffy fell for each other:

♬ original sound - Sara P. What To Do If a Feral Cat Brings Kittens to Your YardIf a feral cat mom brings kittens to your yard, don't panic. Some people, like Katie, find themselves in this situation unexpectedly, and it's OK to feel overwhelmed. By definition, feral cats are wild, but with careful planning, there are ways you can intervene to help without necessarily "unofficially" adopting them.
First, observe from a distance to see how the mama cat cares for her babies. They usually leave to hunt but return to them later. Provide fresh water and wet food for Mom to keep up with her energy output (nursing takes a lot out of a new mom).
Don't move the kittens unless they're in immediate danger. If you have to, put them in a box near the space Mom left them. In the long term, think ahead to the TNR approach: Trap-Spay/Neuter-Return to help control the cat population. Local shelters and rescues often help with this.
And finally, assess how socialized they are. Many feral cats and kittens can be adopted out—especially if you bring them indoors by 8 weeks of age. Which means Katie may already be in prime window territory with Fluffy's four.
In the meantime, Fluffy is making herself right at home on the catio, though Bardi isn't sure this is the right relationship for him:
@katiec2501Fluffy the Feral said, “my catio now,” and Bardi was not having it. 😭 • #catsoftiktok #feralcat #catdrama #petsoftiktok #thedevilwearsprada
♬ original sound - 🐦🔥jànét 🐦🔥That said, Fluffy made the right decision to relocate her babies for safety. They're lucky to have her, their new human family, and stepdad Bardi in their lives.

Your Dog Can't Win the World Cup—but This $5 Aldi Trophy Will Make Him Feel Like He Did
The FIFA 2026 World Cup is underway, and it is already taking over the United States. Right now, the World Cup is on every screen, in every bar, and now in the Aldi pet aisle.

Heart to Tail Plush Sports Dog Toy Trophy, $4.99 at AldiAldi
Dogs do not need a championship trophy, and they probably do not know they will get one—but they love to earn something. They love to parade their favorite toy around the house like they just won the biggest sporting event, and with the latest toy at Aldi, they will.
The Woof Cup is a playful toy that turns the symbol of victory into something dogs can carry and show off.
One quick note: a plush toy is not something you should give to heavy chewers. This toy cannot withstand hours of chewing by a pit bull, for example. If you have a dog that loves to demolish toys, use it as an interactive toy and supervise.

Doubles as a Photo OpportunityWith the World Cup craze around, you can use this toy for a photo opportunity. Imagine your dog sitting proudly with the jersey of your favorite team and a plush trophy in his mouth, while the rest of the family watches the game on TV.
That is a silly moment that people love sharing. Unlike other toys, your dog can play with this one once you finish with the photos.
The Sports World Is Going Dog-CrazyThe FIFA World Cup generates plenty of excitement across North America. Brands are racing to find ways to include dogs in the craziness and find inspiration from the sports world.
Pet parents are also trying to use their dogs to get attention. Recently, a Chihuahua-dachshund mix named Ronaldo went viral for making acrobatic ball saves.
Dogs might not have an idea what the World Cup is, but they do understand excitement, attention, and having fun with their favorite human. That is what makes sports-themed pet products so fun.
You do not need to purchase a jersey. At $5, this dog toy squeaks and looks like the miniature championship cup teams get at the end of the tournament—and your pet can have it right now!

These 10 Things Shape Your Pet’s Entire World
The world is a big place but, to your dog, it often centers around you and your household. That means things that may seem normal and even imperceptible to you can end up impacting your dog's life and their behavior. Though, since dogs are influenced by different things than people are, sometimes pet parents have no idea what can actually have an effect on them over time. To help you understand your pet more, here are 10 things your pet notices—both big and small—that can shape their world, according to trainers.
From little sounds that can build a soundscape or sensory map for your pup, to what other people and animals your furry companion is surrounded by, these factors can alter your dog's everyday life more than you realize. In fact, even something as simple as what your dog smells can sway how they view the world, experts say.
However, every dog is different, and with that, the way they interpret the tiny elements in their day-to-day lives can vary. But trainers say that paying attention to small cues your pet may experience throughout the day can give you insight about why they act a certain way. Keep reading to learn more about what experiences are key drivers so you can help keep your furry family member happy and in a good mood.

10 Things Your Pet Notices That Shape Their World A dog picking up happy vibes from its pet parents.Your pet is paying attention to far more than you might realize, picking up on subtle details in their environment every day. These signals quietly shape how they interpret what’s happening around them and influence the way they respond to life at home and beyond.
Your Physical TouchPets are highly sensitive to how they are physically handled, and this directly helps shape how safe their world feels to them. Gentle, calm touch reinforces trust and teaches your pet that their environment—and you—are safe and predictable.
Positive physical affection like soft petting, grooming, or relaxed cuddling can strengthen your bond and build confidence. On the other hand, rough or inconsistent handling may create stress, especially in more sensitive pets. Over time, the way you touch your pet becomes one of the clearest signals they use to understand their world and their place in it.
Scent and Smells in Their Environment“Dogs experience the world nose-first,” says Molly Jespersen, Camp Bow Wow training specialist. “What your dog smells shapes their mood, their stress levels and even their behavior. The scent of a new person in the home, another animal, a change in your own body chemistry when you are stressed or unwell or an unfamiliar cleaning product can all register as signals to four-legged friends.”
That also means that scent enrichment is an important tool to have. “Letting your dog sniff freely on walks, hiding treats around the house or even introducing safe, novel scents gives your dog’s brain a workout and contributes to a calmer, more fulfilled life,” Jespersen says.
Related: 7 Dog Breeds That Always Seem to Know How You’re Feeling
Your Mood and Emotional StateYour pet is constantly tuned in to how you feel. While you’ll naturally have ups and downs, your overall mood and temperament can have a real impact on their behavior and sense of security. Therefore, it can alter your pup's universe.
“Research has shown that dogs can detect human emotional states through scent alone, meaning your anxiety can be quite literally in the air,” Jespersen points out. Over time, pets learn to read these emotional cues, which can influence how relaxed, alert, or responsive they feel around you.
Household Sounds and Background NoiseYou may not even notice sounds around your home, like the fridge humming or your HVAC kicking on. However, these form a “soundscape” to your pup over time and can have an affect on your dog's mood.
In fact, sounds outside your pet’s established pattern can throw them off, like a thunderstorm or construction noise. “White noise machines and calming music can help create a more settled environment for anxious pets,” Jespersen says. “Being intentional about your home's soundscape is a simple but surprisingly impactful part of your dog's overall wellbeing.”
Other Dogs and Animals Around ThemOther dogs and animals play a major role in shaping your pet’s behavior, especially during early development. “The timing of socialization is one of the most significant factors in shaping who your dog becomes,” Jespersen reveals.
During a puppy’s early socialization window, experiences with other animals can have a lasting impact. Positive, gradual exposure helps build confidence and adaptability, while limited or negative interactions may lead to fear or reactivity later in life. That’s why controlled introductions, calm environments, and positive reinforcement are key when helping dogs learn how to safely interact with others.
Their Daily Routine and ScheduleBelieve it or not, a dog's routine is something they pay attention to once they have one. Many dogs are calmest when they know the household routine, says Amanda Farah, CPDT-K, national training and behavior coordinator at Best Friends Animal Society. But when the schedule changes, even slightly, your pup's entire world will be thrown off.
“Consider how a person might feel if they woke up on payday and discovered their paycheck wasn’t deposited, that’s how a dog feels when no one shows up to feed them their dinner,” Farah says. “Do that a few times and they might start to worry that they’ll have to find a way to feed themselves.”
Jespersen recommends focusing on regular feeding, walks and sleep times to regulate your pup’s circadian rhythms and give them a framework for anticipating what comes next, which reduces anxiety.
The Food You Feed ThemAnother thing that your pet notices that can shape their world is what they eat. In fact, while food fuels your pup’s body, it also shapes their energy levels, ability to concentrate, coat and skin health and their mood, according to Jespersen. “The gut-brain connection is real in dogs just as it is in humans, and a diet that lacks key nutrients can show up as behavioral changes, lethargy and increased anxiety over time,” she says.
Your AbsencePets are highly aware of your presence—and your absence—and it plays a major role in shaping how they experience their world. They notice when you leave, how long you’re gone, and the patterns behind your daily comings and goings.
Over time, these routines help define whether their world feels predictable and safe or uncertain and stressful. Consistent departures and calm reunions can build confidence and reduce anxiety, while irregular or unpredictable schedules may be more challenging for sensitive pets.
In this way, your absence becomes part of how your pet understands their environment, their routine, and their bond with you.
How You Respond to Unwanted BehaviorsYour reaction to unwanted behavior can actually help shape how your pet understands right from wrong in their world.
“Dogs are constantly reading their owners, and your reaction to unwanted behavior is one of the clearest lessons you will ever teach a new dog,” Jespersen shares. But instinctive responses, like raising your voice, physically intervening or giving eye contact and attention, can inadvertently reinforce the behavior you want to stop, she says.
“Yelling at a dog who is jumping up, for example, still provides the attention they were seeking,” Jespersen explains. “Punishment-based reactions can also erode trust and increase anxiety, particularly in sensitive or rescue dogs.” Instead, she recommends redirection and consistency—calmly interrupting the behavior, redirecting the dog to something acceptable and then rewarding the new behavior.
How You Reward and Praise ThemYour dog is always learning what gets your attention and what earns your praise.
“Positive reinforcement is not just a training philosophy—it is how dogs learn what is worth repeating,” Jespersen explains. “When a dog sits, comes when called or settles quietly, and that behavior is met with praise, a treat or play, their brain logs it as a behavior that pays off.”

7 Heartwarming Things About Living With a German Shepherd
Bridget Murphy, the CEO of Koru K9 Dog Training, has worked with many breeds of dogs over the years. However, she's only ever brought one dog breed home: German Shepherds. Because of this, Murphy knows the heartwarming realities of living with a German Shepherd firsthand, and she says they may be unexpected to first-time owners who have a vision of what having one of these popular pups may be like.
Though, she notes that when you look back at the breed's history, German Shepherds were bred to be well-rounded working dogs capable of both working and socializing. Due to this, these days, a GSD's top job is often being a best friend to it's pet parents since their personality qualifies them for that role. "German Shepherds have an incredible combination of intelligence, sensitivity and devotion to their people, but what makes them truly special is how deeply invested they become in the lives of the people they love," Murphy says. "They don't just live alongside their families; they are your family," Murphy states.
As a long-time German Shepherd pet parent and trainer, Murphy reveals that these sweet realities of living with a German Shepherd are welcome surprises to many people who have never had one before. So, if a German Shepherd is your dream dog or you’re looking into adding one to your family, here are a few things you’ll want to know about the loyal and devoted breed that will make you fall even more in love with them.
Related: 7 Friendly German Dog Breeds That Are Simply Irresistible, According to Experts
7 Things to Know Before Owning a German Shepherd German Shepherds are among the most loyal and affectionate dog breeds. What's it like living with a German Shepherd? Here are seven of the most important, adorable and unexpected things to know before getting a German Shepherd.
1. You'll never be alone againWho knew your shadow had four legs, pointy ears, and did you suddenly sprout fur? To live with a German Shepherd is never to feel lonely again. Even your potty breaks are social events for GSDs, as they will follow you everywhere. It can feel a little weird, but Murphy clarifies that German Shepherds genuinely adore being near their favorite people. Consider yourself lucky that person is you.
"German Shepherds want to be involved with you and a part of what you are doing," Murphy says. "If you stand up, they're usually standing up too, or at least keeping a very close eye on you. If you move to another room, there's a good chance you'll hear the click, click, click of paws following close behind."
2. They pay attention to everythingGerman Shepherds are like sponges, detectives, fortune tellers and journalists all rolled into one. Murphy says there's a joke among GSD owners that their dogs know what they're about to do before they do. She says German Shepherds are pros at reading routines, body language and daily habits. It sounds like an intense combination, and it can be, but Murphy shares that the behavior is a sign of the dog's profound love for you.
"German Shepherds know when you're sad or upset and will come up and nuzzle you," Murphy says. "There's something truly special and touching about sharing your life with an animal that can read you at such a deep level."
3. They want you to be a team German Shepherds form strong, lasting bonds with their families. If German Shepherds were gym class heroes, their motto would be, "Teamwork makes the dreamwork." One of Murphy's favorite things about living with German Shepherds is the feeling that you're doing life together.
"Whether you're gardening, folding laundry, working in the garage, or heading out for a walk, they are happiest when they're part of the action," Murphy shares.
This GSD' trait dates back to their initial purpose as working dogs, but they still thrive in partnerships today. "They are always want to be a part of your daily life and your teammate, even if it's just going to your garden with you. It’s a magical relationship that I firmly believe cannot be replicated by a human."
4. They take their roles in your family very seriouslyNo job is too small for a GSD, but trust they'll develop a big attachment to it if you delegate it to them (or if they've just volunteered themselves for the gig).
"Many German Shepherds seem to view themselves as active members of the household team," Murphy explains. "They often position themselves where they can keep an eye on everyone and everything. Their desire for that human connection creates a strong sense of companionship that many owners cherish. I know I certainly do."
Related: Top 5 Bravest Dog Breeds You’ll Ever Meet, According to Vets
5. They form deep bondsA German Shepherd may stop growing, but their hearts have no bounds.
"One of the most rewarding aspects of living with a German Shepherd is how the relationship deepens over time," Murphy says. "The more experiences you share together, the better they seem to understand you."
Murphy says that, like many GSD owners, she finds it hard to describe how well her Shepherd knows her to someone who has never had one. "That sense of mutual trust becomes stronger with each passing year," Murphy states. "As a trainer, I tell clients that dogs don’t understand language. But in the back of my mind, I truly believe that German Shepherds learn to understand us at a deeper level."
6. They will comfort youMaybe you just lost a beloved human family member, whom your dog barely knew but you adored. Or, perhaps you had a rough day at the office. Your German Shepherd may become more cuddly and attuned to your needs. You're not imagining things. Murphy's two GSDs do the same thing.
"While dogs may not fully understand human emotions the way another person would, they are exceptionally observant of changes in behavior and routine," Murphy says. "The comfort they provide during difficult times often becomes one of the most special parts of the relationship."
7. They leave a lasting mark on your heartThere's a reason Murphy has continued to call German Shepherd family members: She can't imagine her life without one, and many of her fellow GSD owners say the same.
"The breed has a unique way of becoming woven into your daily routine, family traditions and countless memories," Murphy shares. "Mostly, they weave their way deeply into your heart. Their loyalty, love, intelligence and companionship create bonds that run incredibly deep."
Murphy says the breed thrives in homes that can provide high levels of training, activity and treat them like family. "While every dog is different, most German Shepherds enjoy having a job to do, even if that job is simply accompanying their owner through everyday activities," Murphy says. "They often do best with owners who appreciate both their intelligence, work capacity and their desire to be involved."
In other words, German Shepherds want people who can invest in them the way these dogs invest in their people. Pay it forward, and you'll enjoy these heartwarming realities of living with a German Shepherd.

Dobermans Dressed in Sweaters Bicker in the Backseat Like an Old Married Couple
If you're a pet parent to more than one dog, you've probably witnessed a disagreement or two. For Dobermans Cleopatra and Caesar, however, their latest spat happened in the backseat of the car, and the pair looked hilariously relatable while working it out.
Dressed in adorable sweaters and exchanging plenty of chatter, the duo had viewers comparing them to everything from bickering siblings to an old married couple. And for anyone gearing up for summer road trips with the family, the scene feels especially familiar.
Check out the animated discussion in this Instagram video shared by @caesar_cleopatra_ on June 20.
View this post on InstagramCleopatra's paw resting on Caesar was the canine equivalent of "I'm not touching you," except she absolutely was. The backtalk, which their mom described as "unmatched," only added to the comedy.
But perhaps the funniest part came once Cleopatra secured Caesar's seat, which appeared to be her goal all along. Having won the argument, she immediately settled down and gazed quietly out the window like the queen she clearly knows she is.

Viewers completely understood the moment.
"My toddlers actually had this same fight just yesterday in the car," wrote @imadabler.
"I feel like they have had that argument before…" joked @mselliemrobins.
And @dvglam perfectly summed up Cleopatra's victorious expression, writing, "That look out of the window told me her way or no way."

Why Dobermans Like Cleopatra and Caesar Are So Vocal and ExpressiveDobermans are known for their intelligence, alertness, and intense devotion to their people, which often makes them especially expressive around those they're closest to. According to the AKC, Dobermans form strong bonds with their families and are very affectionate despite their muscular, powerful appearance. They're also highly intelligent and tend to learn new commands and skills quickly, which may explain why their "conversations," like Cleopatra and Caesar's backseat debate, can come across as so deliberate and human-like.
It's hard not to see a little bit of ourselves in these two. Whether they remind you of squabbling siblings, a longtime married couple, or kids arguing over who gets the better seat, Cleopatra and Caesar proved that some backseat debates are universal, no matter how many legs are involved.
