People Who Were Praised for Being 'Easy' as Kids Often Do These 7 Things as Adults, Psychologists Say

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 6:10pm

When you were young, your parents and teachers may have mentioned in passing that you were the “easy” kid, the one who never caused a ruckus and made adults’ lives easier. While some childhood labels can be detrimental to adults—“dramatic” or “too much,” for example—being labeled as “easy” is a bit of a mixed bag. It can either have a positive or negative impact in your adult years, or a combination of both.

Licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Emma Basch says that when kids are labeled as “easy,” it generally means that adults find their temperament pleasant and their behavior compliant.

“Parents may also refer to their kids as ‘easy’ if they find that their parenting skill set gels well with their child's needs and/or in comparison to a sibling whose needs are more challenging for them,” she tells Parade

Christopher A. Kearney, Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, further details that an "easy temperament" usually refers to someone who is calm and able to adapt well to new situations.

“Children with this temperament often achieve regular sleep and eating routines more readily, adjust well to different situations, express their emotions in a mild-mannered way and are often described by caregivers and teachers as pleasurable to manage,” he adds.

Being an “easy” child can be something in your DNA, or it could have resulted from an uplifting, supportive environment. Either way, for better or for worse, it can have various effects upon your adult life.

Benefits and Downsides of Getting Praise for Being an 'Easy' Kid

There are upsides and downsides to going from an “easy” child to an adult.

“Many benefits are associated with this temperament, including adaptability, flexibility, friendliness and lower risk of behavioral problems,” Dr. Kearney points out.

But then there are those negatives. For example, he explains that as a child, you may have been taken for granted or had your needs overlooked when compared to more demanding children, and these feelings can follow you into adulthood.

Also, if you were frequently praised by the adults in your life, it probably felt pretty good—but as Dr. Basch notes, you may have received the message that your harder feelings weren’t tolerable or wanted by adults.

“This can lead kids to feel like they need to be ‘easy’ or that their job is to be ‘easy’ for the grown-ups around them,” she says, and this can influence your day-to-day life as an adult.

7 Things 'Easy' Kids Do in Adulthood, According to Psychologists1. Suppress needs

“Adults who were praised for being ‘easy’ can struggle to acknowledge their own needs or express their needs to other people,” Dr. Basch says. “Being ‘easy’ often comes with suppression of needs, and that can be hard to overcome.”

2. Make better connections

But then on the flipside, Dr. Kearney says that adults with easier temperaments tend to have smoother interactions with others, stronger bonds with partners and good, cooperative relationships with co-workers.

3. Avoid conflict

Dr. Basch says that sometimes, being “easy” as a kid can mean being conflict-averse as an adult.

“This usually starts in childhood, when the need to be seen as ‘easy’ or ‘good’ often means reigning in feelings of anger so as not to upset adults,” she reflects.

4. People-please

People-pleasing can also be common among adults who were viewed as “easy” when they were kids.

“‘Easy’ kids often have their self-worth tied up in being liked and praised by adults, and this pattern can continue in adulthood,” Dr. Basch says.

5. Internalize emotions

“Emotional suppression, or internalizing emotions, is common in ‘easy’ kids when they become adults,” Dr. Basch says. “‘Easy’ kids believe they can only show their ‘good’ parts or positive emotions, and adults often navigate this by suppressing their hard feelings.”

6. Experience perfectionism

Unsurprisingly, “easy” kids often grow up to be perfectionists. As Dr. Basch says, “As children, mistakes were not tolerated by others or by themselves, and being perfect was often praised.”

7. Have better emotional regulation

You may experience better moods and even-keeled emotions if you were an “easy” child. Dr. Kearney lists good emotional regulation, more resilience, less anxiety and depression, more self-acceptance, greater well-being and higher life satisfaction as examples of this.

How To Move Forward

If you feel that being an “easy” child ultimately caused negative impacts in your life as an adult, then some healing is in order.

“The first step is compassionately acknowledging where the behaviors and beliefs come from,” Dr. Basch says. “While behavioral changes such as working on naming your emotions or expressing your needs to others can be helpful, it's really important to address the deeper wounds from childhood to heal in adulthood.” You can achieve these goals through therapy

But if you feel that it’s been nothing but a positive experience, Dr. Kearney asserts, “Why would one want to unlearn an easy temperament when there are so many benefits to it? The only thing that might need to be learned better is advocating for oneself if others have neglected needs.”

'90s TV Star, Ranked Best ‘Male Sitcom Character,’ Became the King of Sarcasm

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 6:09pm

More than 20 years after Friends aired its finale, one character still rules the world of sitcom comedy: Chandler Bing.

Played by the late Matthew Perry, Chandler has now been ranked by Collider as the No. 1 best male sitcom character of the 1990s, beating out other iconic TV favorites.

The honor feels fitting. For 10 seasons, from 1994 to 2004, Perry turned Chandler into the “king of sarcasm,” delivering sharp one-liners with perfect timing while also showing the character’s hidden heart.

Chandler wasn’t just funny. He was relatable. He used jokes to hide his fears. He teased his friends, but he loved them deeply. That mix of humor and honesty is why fans across generations still connect with him today.

How Chandler Bing Became a '90s Sitcom Icon

When Friends first premiered on NBC in 1994, many viewers focused on Ross and Rachel’s love story. But everything changed in Season 1, Episode 7, “The One With the Blackout.”

In that episode, Chandler gets stuck in an ATM vestibule with model Jill Goodacre. What could have been a simple joke turned into a defining moment. Nervous and awkward, Chandler blurts out, “Gum would be perfection,” then instantly regrets it. He spirals into embarrassment, revealing the insecure man behind the sarcasm.

That episode showed audiences something new: Chandler wasn’t just the funny guy. He was vulnerable.

Perry connected so deeply with the role that he once admitted in his memoir that after reading the script, he felt, “I was Chandler.”

Per Yahoo, he memorized the entire pilot before his audition because he believed so strongly in the character. He almost missed the role due to another project, but when that fell through, he landed the part that would define his life.

Friends became a massive hit, ranking in the Top 10 U.S. TV ratings every single season. Its 2004 finale drew more than 52 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched finales in television history.

Behind the scenes, Perry faced serious struggles with addiction. He began drinking as a teenager and later battled opioid dependence. In his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, he shared that he spent millions trying to get sober and had been clean since 2021.

After Friends, Perry starred in films like The Whole Nine Yards and appeared in shows such as The West Wing. Yet no role matched the cultural impact of Chandler Bing.

When Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023, at age 54, tributes poured in from around the world. Ranking him as the best male sitcom character of the ’90s doesn’t just celebrate a funny performance. It honors a character who made millions laugh while quietly teaching them that it’s okay to be imperfect.

This Thrifter Paid Next to Nothing for Carrie Bradshaw's 'Sex and the City' Wedding Gown and Sold It for Thousands

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 5:59pm

It sounds like one of those once-in-a-lifetime fashion finds that feels almost too good to be true. A Chicago woman came across an iconic wedding gown from Sex and the City at a local Goodwill for just $18.99. She later sold it for thousands, and the story has captured major social media attention.

While it wasn't the dress worn down the aisle in the film's plot, Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) wore the "Eleanor" couture dress, designed by Vera Wang, during a bridal photo shoot for Vogue in the first Sex and the City movie. Poshmark reseller Ashley Cano thrifted the gorgeous gown and sold it to a new real-life bride, Sophia Corin Merlino, for $2,750—a massive markup from her original $18.99 thrift price.

Cano's viral TikTok reaction—"Vera freaking Wang," she exclaimed—quickly drew thousands of views, turning her Goodwill haul into a pop-culture moment.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this dress," she captioned the TikTok video. "But I fear I may have [bitten] off more than I can chew. It's so big, so heavy. And I have no clue how to best sell it. Any help?"

She later took to TikTok with another video asking Chicago brides to give her "just a minute to catch up" on inquiries about the dress made of sumptuous fabrics with a voluminous ruffled skirt.

"Since this went viral, I have had an insane amount of inquiries," she wrote. "I'm working on finding the best way to handle everyone's inquiries and still have safety around meeting up for try-ons."

Eventually, Merlino made the purchase. And now, nearly a year later, she wore it to her wedding. Merlino made the dress her own with minor alterations, walking down the aisle in Miami at the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens on February 13.

This thrift-to-wedding-day journey—from a cheap find to a cherished bridal moment—is a reminder of why thrifting remains such a fun hobby for fashion lovers and treasure seekers alike. Not every thrift store run yields a piece of Hollywood history, but when it does, the payoff can be unforgettable.

'Neighbours' Star Shares Disappointing Revival Update

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 5:33pm

Fans of Neighbours received a disappointing update about the soap’s future this week from star Rebekah Elmaloglou, following her exit from I’m a Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

In a recent interview with TV Tonight, Elmaloglou discussed her time on the reality series and addressed the possibility of another Neighbours revival.

After Neighbours concluded its most recent run in 2025, fans have continued campaigning online in hopes of another revival.

Elmaloglou acknowledged the ongoing fan support, telling the outlet: “The fan groups are still going strong, and there’s still so much hope out there.”

However, Elmaloglou said she does not believe a reboot is likely in the immediate future. “I think Jason (Herbison, producer) is probably going to leave it be for a while,” she said. “I think he needs a break. I think everyone needs a break.”

The actress continued being a little less optimistic, adding, “I don’t know. I think it may be finished this time round. But the fan groups are still going.”

Elmaloglou joined the cast of Neighbours in 2013 as Terese Willis. The character became known for her complicated relationship with Paul Robinson (played by original Neighbours cast member Stefan Dennis).

She remained a regular on the series until its original finale in 2022 and returned when Amazon revived the show in 2023. The series concluded again in 2025.

Before joining Neighbours, Elmaloglou rose to fame playing Sophie Simpson on Home and Away from 1991 to 1993. She later reprised the role in 2002, 2003, and again in 2005.

Elmaloglou ultimately placed fourth on I’m a Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! Australia. Speaking about her future, she told TV Tonight:  “I’m hoping this bloody show opens up doors for work for me, not just acting, but all sorts of other things, like presenting.”

Classic episodes of Neighbours are being released on the show’s official YouTube Channel. Meanwhile episodes from 2011 until the series 2025 finale can be streamed on Amazon Prime.

BAFTAs Host Apologizes to Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo for Slur

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 5:24pm

Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo took the stage at the BAFTAs to present the first award of the night. A man yelled the N-word from the audience. Lindo, 73, paused after the outburst and continued presenting. Alan Cumming hosted the ceremony and later apologized.

John Davidson left the BAFTAs John Davidson

"You may have noticed some strong language in the background," Cumming said. "This can be part of how Tourette’s syndrome shows up for some people as the film explores that experience. Thanks for your understanding and helping create a respectful space for everyone."

John Davidson, the inspiration for I Swear, attended the ceremony and has Tourette's. Robert Aramayo plays Davidson in the movie and took home the BAFTA for Best Leading Actor. "Tourette’s Syndrome is a disability and the tics you’ve heard tonight are involuntary, which means the person who has Tourette’s Syndrome has no control over their language," Cumming said later in the ceremony. "We apologize if you are offended tonight." Variety reported that Davidson left the ceremony later on his own accord.

Jordan, 39, and Lindo were at the ceremony because Sinners was nominated for 13 awards. They also presented the award for Best Visual Effects to Avatar Fire and Ash before the outburst. Wunmi Mosaku won for Best Supporting Actress for her role, Annie. Ludwig Göransson won for Best Original Score.

Ryan Coogler won for Best Screenplay, making him the first Black winner in this BAFTA category. He gave advice to other writers in his acceptance speech. "For all the writers out there, when y’all look at that blank page, think of who you love, think of anybody who you’ve seen in pain that you identify with and wish they felt better and let that love motivate you," he said, according to Variety. "I’ll be forever grateful for this, thank you all."

"For the first time in almost 4 years, I sat where @zroloff07 and I were married," the mom of three captioned her update. "It brought me so much joy to sit and look out over this very familiar field that holds so many beautiful memories for me."

Tori continued, "There has been so much hurt that’s happened at the farm, but for the first time in years, I felt so happy to be able to visit and reminisce on the good times and just be thankful for what God has provided our family with. 🫶🏼."

In the featured image, she sat at a gazebo while staring off into the distance. A second snap showed only the gazebo at Roloff Farms, where she and Zach married in 2015. Today, they share three children—Jackson, 8, Lilah, 5, and Josiah, 2—who all have achondroplasia dwarfism, like Zach and his parents, Matt Roloff and Amy Roloff.

In the comments, Tori's followers reacted to Tori and her family returning to Roloff Farms for the first time in years after Matt failed to negotiate the sale of a portion of the property with Zach and his twin brother, Jeremy Roloff. A rift between Matt and his kids formed as a result, and Matt instead listed part of Roloff Farms for sale.

One Instagram user wrote, "Happy to see healing going on ❤️."

Another follower shared, "Really hope this is a sign of good things to come.. all the best ❤️."

Someone else echoed, "I’m so glad that after all this time and the hurt the pain in the sorrow that you’ve been able to let that go and find peace where love began that’s amazing."

A different Instagram user speculated, "Wonder if this reunion of this family has to do with [Caryn Chandler] now being out of the picture. I’m happy to see this family healing."

Meanwhile, yet another LPBW fan commented, "So glad y’all are coming back there, your kids loved their grandpa and farm. Nothing should come between that. You have to have peace for them."

In February 2024, Zach and Tori announced their Little People, Big World exit after Season 25. The TLC series has not aired new episodes since.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Gets Candid About His ‘Star Trek’ Role and Calls Co-Star ‘Gorgeous’

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:51pm

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is opening up about one of the first times he worked on a television series.

In a December 2025 interview on Moovy TV, Johnson referenced that he started his career as a professional wrestler. During his time in the WWE, he began to branch out in the entertainment industry and took on acting roles in television shows. During the Moovy TV interview, Johnson shared that his earliest acting gigs included a 1999 episode of That '70s Show, a 1999 episode of The Net, and a 2000 episode of Star Trek: Voyager. In the season 6 Star Trek: Voyager episode, Johnson played The Champion, who battles Seven of Nine, played by Jeri Ryan, in a violent Tsunkatse match.

While speaking to Moovy TV, Johnson said he thoroughly enjoyed his experience working on Star Trek: Voyager, which had a seven-season run until 2001. He explained that he took on the role of The Champion because he was trying to get "experience as an actor," outside of the world of the WWE.

"I was taking these roles these cameos on these television shows and they had come to me and said, 'Hey are you interested in doing Star Trek: Voyager?' I said, 'Yeah, I would love to. Let's do it,'" said Johnson in the December 2025 interview. "And I went down to set and we had a great time that day and the crew, the cast, everybody was so awesome, but very specifically Jeri Ryan was amazing."

According to Johnson, Ryan "was so welcoming and warm," which he appreciated as he was new to acting.

"Jeri was so amazing and so cool and gorgeous and like, it blew me away how just wonderfully welcoming she was," continued Johnson.

He then suggested that he didn't feel all that welcomed by the stars of other television series he had made appearances in at the start of his acting career.

"The truth is at that time in my career, I was doing this show and that show and it was just cameo, cameo, cameo. These shows were pretty popular shows and the stars of those shows were popular stars," said Johnson in the interview. "And so a lot of times they knew, 'Oh, we're going to get this person coming in from the world of wrestling.' You know, sometimes I would show up on these sets and it was a little bit of a like, 'Oh, here we go again, like another guy. Okay. You know, he's never acted before and I got to carry the baggage.' And I would feel that energy from some of these folks and I got it and I just tried to get through the day and try to learn as much as I could."

Johnson went on to say that he has never forgotten Ryan's welcoming and warm energy.

"But Jeri was never like that. She was f-----g cool, man. And anyway, like moments like that I don't forget because it's the great reminder that you got to remember people always remember how you treat them. And she was amazing," said Johnson.

After his Star Trek: Voyager cameo, Johnson managed to become one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. He has starred in several hit movies like The Mummy Returns (2001), The Other Guys (2010), several Fast & Furious films, the animated 2016 film, Moana, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), and the 2022 film, Black Adam, as reported by IMDb.

Keith Urban Faces Another Split, But This Time It’s Business

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:47pm

For Keith Urban, the past month has marked a significant reset—both personally and professionally.

Just weeks after finalizing his divorce from Nicole Kidman, the country star is also closing the book on a 25-year partnership with longtime manager Gary Borman. Borman announced his retirement and the closure of Borman Entertainment after five decades in the industry, bringing an end to one of Nashville’s longest artist-manager relationships.

“I’m so grateful to Gary (and my entire Borman Nashville family) for the most incredible and successful time together,” the 58-year-old said in a statement to Page Six released Sunday, February 22.

“It was extraordinary—what we were able to accomplish together—and I’ll forever be grateful for the creative and collaborative spirit we were all a part of for so long,” he added. “I wish Gary and everyone at Borman Entertainment the very best journey ahead and look forward to what the future holds for all of us.”

Borman, whose career includes guiding artists like James Taylor and Faith Hill described his bond with Urban as very personal, saying they “shared a journey not unlike brothers.” He added, “The place that I have in my heart will remain warm and my mind filled with wonderful memories. I have been and will remain a fan.”

The timing has drawn attention, particularly as Urban continues touring his latest album, High and Alive. His divorce from Kidman was also finalized in late September after nearly 20 years of marriage. Reports indicated the two had spent the summer apart before she filed in Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences.

In the days following the split, Urban appeared to let some raw emotion surface during a performance of his 2002 song “You’ll Think of Me,” swapping in the line “Take your space and all your stupid bulls**t reasons,” before telling the crowd, “You shouldn’t have treated me this way.” Fans quickly noticed the outburst and Urban spoke up about it a few weeks later at another tour stop. “I’ve been covering like this for a long time. Stop reading sh*t into it. It’s called ‘You’ll Think of Me,’” he stated.”

Kidman and Urban’s divorce was finalized on January 6, 2026. They share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

This Luxury Desert Destination Is Dubbed the Fastest-Growing Wealth Hub in the U.S.

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:44pm

The desert city of Scottsdale, Arizona, has been recognized as the fastest-growing wealth hub in the U.S. According to the latest findings from Henley & Partners, Scottsdale has seen an extraordinary surge in high-net-worth individuals over the past decade.

"America is the undisputed world leader when it comes to high-growth tech sectors such as software, microchips, online retail, internet hosting, social media, search engines, and AI," Andrew Amoils, Head of Research at New World Wealth, said in a press release. "As a result of this dominance, many tech entrepreneurs choose to move to the country in order to take their businesses to the next level. While the Bay Area remains the epicenter of this innovation ecosystem and the top global destination for wealthy tech entrepreneurs, we're also seeing a broader migration trend."

In 2024 alone, the U.S. recorded a net gain of approximately 3,800 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) via migration, including 95 centi-millionaires and 10 billionaires, many of whom are founders, CEOs, and investors. Many HNWIs move to major tech hubs in innovation-forward states like California and New York, or low-tax states like Florida and Texas. But Arizona is also seeing significant growth.

While New York City remains the wealthiest city in the U.S. (and the world, at large), with 384,500 millionaires (including 818 centi-millionaires and 66 billionaires), Scottsdale is currently seeing the fastest growth. Scottdale's millionaire population increased by roughly 125% between 2014 and 2024. That growth rate places it ahead of even larger, more established U.S. metros and cements its reputation as a rising powerhouse of concentrated wealth.

Scottsdale wealth boom is primarily driven by the city's rapidly expanding tech sector, influx of skilled professionals, relatively favorable tax climate, and pro-business regulatory environment. For high earners and retirees alike, the financial math often works in Scottsdale's favor.

HNWIs are also drawn to the city's year-round sunshine, luxury golf communities, high-end resorts, and expansive desert estates. Scottdale's master-planned neighborhoods and exclusive enclaves have become magnets for entrepreneurs, executives, and investors seeking both privacy and prestige.

Moreover, Scottsdale's proximity to Phoenix plays a critical role in its ranking. The broader metro area has emerged as a growing technology and business corridor, attracting companies in semiconductors, fintech, and advanced manufacturing. As corporate investment flows into the region, senior leadership and founders often choose Scottsdale as their residential base, further accelerating wealth concentration in the area.

If current migration and investment patterns persist, its trajectory suggests this desert enclave is not just experiencing a moment. Scottsdale very well could be establishing itself as a long-term fixture in the country's evolving map of prosperity.

The Monkees: Davy Jones’ Brutal Advice Left Mike Nesmith Speechless

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:14pm

Mike Nesmith said that a moment with his Monkees castmate Davy Jones continued to surprise and inspire him decades later.

In the months after The Monkees debuted, Nesmith realized that he, Jones, Peter Tork, and Micky Dolenz deserved more creative control over their music. In a conversation with Rolling Stone following Jones’ death, Nesmith shared the most unforgettable advice his castmate ever gave him, coming at a time when tensions between the band and the show's producers were running high.

Just months into The Monkees’ rise to superstardom, Nesmith and Tork pushed back. They wanted to play their own instruments and have a say in the music that was released under the band's name. But producer Don Kirshner ignored them entirely, dropping the band’s second album, More of the Monkees, without telling a soul.

Nesmith told Rolling Stone that it was during that time that Jones gave him some brutal advice. “David continually admonished me to calm down and do what I was told,” Nesmith revealed. “His advice to me was to approach the show like a job, do my best, and shut up, take the money, and go home.”

However, Nesmith truly believed that his castmates and bandmates deserved more respect for their musical skills than they were reportedly receiving. Along with Dolenz, Jones joined the battle, making the decision unanimous among the band members.

After The Monkees won creative control over their music and were finally allowed to write and perform with minimal outside interference, they flourished as bandmates. The group released their third LP, Headquarters, in May 1967, an LP which featured all four band members playing instruments and contributing original songs.

The album reached No. 1 on the U.S. charts reported Billboard. It was the band's third number one in a year (The Monkees and More of The Monkees came first), followed by a fourth top-selling release, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd., which also reached the top spot in late 1967.

The Monkees subsequently became the first and only group in chart history to have four number-one albums in a single calendar year. Their record still stands today.

Micky Dolenz is the sole surviving Monkees member. Davy Jones died in February 2012, Peter Tork in February 2019, and Michael Nesmith in December 2021.

‘Brady Bunch’ Star Says Filming Infamous 1972 Episode Was the ‘Bleakest Week of My Life’

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:07pm

Christopher Knight has plenty of happy memories from his days playing Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch. But the former child actor hated one experience on the beloved ABCsitcom— when his teen character's voice began changing.

During a February 2026 appearance on Charlotte, NC-based The Morning Mix podcast, Knight, 68, said he “sucked it up” when it came to the Bradys singing and dancing on the show, which aired from 1969 to 1974 and was followed by a song-filled variety show spinoff.

“To the point where I have a phobia of singing and dancing because I have no talent in that area,” he told hosts Matt Harris and Liz Luda. “But Barry [Williams] wanted to do more of that,” Knight added. “And we ended up doing that. And so then they point it out on that episode [‘Dough Re Mi’]."

“That was the bleakest week of my life,” Knight said. “I’m having to crack my voice because I think they’re making fun of how bad I am at singing. The writers had no idea that I couldn’t sing, they just had Peter have voice cracking. But I’m thinking they’re now pointing out how bad I am at singing.”

In the episode, Greg Brady (Williams) writes a song for his siblings to record and reserves a recording studio for their new group, The Brady Six. But before they start recording, Peter's voice begins to change and crack when he sings.

Knight admitted that after watching the episode, he feels “it  works” and that “the comedy of it is funny.”

“The fact is, it was a pat on the back giving me that to so,” he admitted. “But at the time I was doing it, I was upside down with embarrassment.”

Knight once called the episode ‘traumatic’

Knight previously opened up about the voice-cracking experience in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, admitting, “Music is not something that is all comfortable for me."

"As a matter of fact, as much as I've been forced into it, it's almost created, you know, some kind of psychosis," he said. "There's some scars there, left from music. There's some deep, dark issues surrounding the whole being forced to sing in front of people when you don't feel like that's where you should be.”

Knight noted that as a kid, he was convinced that the Brady song “Time to Change” was “a way to get me from the microphone.“

“Looking back, it was coincidental, but the way my brain processed it is everybody was pointing, making fun of me,” he admitted. "There were days I couldn't walk, and I think back on when I was 14 and 15, it was psychosomatic. It was traumatic.”

Knight said some of the later 'Brady' shows were borderline slapstick

While “Dough Re Mi” is one of his least favorite Brady episodes, Knight told The Mix that the famous Hawaii-set story arc is among his favorite.

“People would ask us, ‘What’s your favorite episode?’ and we’d all answer it the same way — the Hawaii episodes,” he said. “We got to go to Hawaii! But it dawned on me that maybe that’s not what they’re asking. Maybe they’re asking, ‘Which episode makes you laugh the most?' And… I have no idea.”

“I had thought our later episodes, when we were older, were better — only because I was working from a more conscious place at that point,” he continued. “But in watching them, the shows are actually much more well-constructed in the first two seasons, because that’s really what the show was about, the kids at that age. Once we got to 14 and 15, it kind of got into a sort of slapstick area because we were already too old for some of the lessons being displayed. That’s why Oliver [Robbie Rist] comes along, because all of a sudden, maybe we could have those lessons again with a new crew.”

While he was scarred from the singing, Knight admitted that a part of him is “healthier” today after having “that surreal fantasy family” on The Brady Bunch.

“It’s never been off the air,” he added of the beloved sitcom. “It’s always been some place to watch. It’s lasted this long… It’s evergreen. It’s transcended its original purpose. I got to go to Hawaii, Cincinnati, the Grand Canyon. I made some lifelong friends and learned some valuable lessons.”

Chelsea Handler Will Play a Washed-up Reality Star in a New Hulu Series

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:05pm

Chelsea Handler knows a thing or two about being on television, but it's not every day we get to see the comedy queen take on another character.

Handler, 50, is attached to star in a Hulu comedy series about a washed-up reality star called Townhouse, Deadline reported. Handler will also executive produce.

According to Deadline, the series will also follow Handler's character's live-in entourage of misfits as they attempt to fix her messy public image and get her career started again. That's all thrown up in the air when her estranged daughter moves home to their dilapidated townhouse in Manhattan, forcing her to deal with motherhood head-on.

Handler does have some experience with the chaotic world of reality television, after all: She previously served as a producer on the E! reality series Pretty Wild, which starred Alexis Neiers, and continues to be infamous in some circles for its quotable moments and connections to the Bling Ring, the group of California-based teenagers and young adults who burglarized celebrity homes.

Of course, Handler has plenty of entertainment experience under her belt. From 2007 to 2014, she served as the host of Chelsea Lately, the popular E! late-night talk show. She later had a series on Netflix, Chelsea, and most recently released a Netflix stand-up special, Chelsea Handler: The Feeling, in 2025.

In her typical humorous way, Handler announced the news on Instagram by saying, "The rumors are true. I’m becoming a mother."

Finding Freedom While Turning 50

Handler will soon turn 51, and she's loving every minute of it. Last year, the comedian, who released her new book, I’ll Have What She’s Having, opened up to Parade about her journey to the five-decade mark.

“Everyone keeps asking me [how I feel about turning 50], and I feel like they want me to say something like [sounding slightly bummed], ‘I can’t believe I’m 50,’” Handler shared. “[But] this is awesome. My life is exactly what I hoped it would be—it’s more than I hoped it would be. I had no idea what the possibilities were or that I could live a life like this and feel so free.”

Tim McGraw Reveals Controversial Song That 'Set My Career in Motion'

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 4:03pm

Tim McGraw recently revealed the controversial song that "set my career in motion"—a 1994 track that some radio stations pulled following listener complaints.

On the Feb. 4 episode of The Tim Ferris Show podcast, the country legend, 58, spoke out his song, "Indian Outlaw," which appeared on his second album, Not a Moment Too Soon.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

McGraw said he originally wanted the song on his debut, self-titled album in 1993. However, he said "nobody liked it," and that included his label, Curb.

"They just said it was too controversial and it was a bad song," he explained. "It wasn't country music, it won't work on radio, all the things."

However, McGraw said he "knew it worked" because of the audience response before his first record dealt. "When we would go travel and play clubs all over the country, I was playing that song. And we'd end up having to play it two or three times a night, four times a night, because people loved it so much," he said. "... But I didn't have any say-so on the first album."

Related: Tim McGraw Sends Bold Political Message in Touching Tribute for Wife Faith Hill

"When we cut it, I thought, 'This is either going to work in a huge way or it's going to ruin my career forever," he said of recording "Indian Outlaw" for his second album. "Luckily, it worked."

Additionally, McGraw confessed, "I'll forever believe that the combination of those two songs ["Indian Outlaw" and "Don't Take the Girl"] is what set my career in motion and gave me momentum that I probably couldn't have gotten any other way."

In "Indian Outlaw," McGraw sings about being "half Cherokee and Choctaw," and includes a slew of Native American stereotypes, including lyrics about wigwams, tom-toms, teepees, and peace pipes.

"I understood why it was controversial," he admitted. "Because it was stereotypical and it was sort of a play on Native American. And there was a lot of controversy around it, and I understood the controversy, and I wasn't upset about the controversy.

"Indian Outlaw" marked McGraw's first top-40 country song, rising to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks and to No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Still, some radio stations axed the song from their lineup following complaints.

"I met with several Native American leaders. Some liked the song, some didn't like the song," the Live Like You Were Dying singer told Tom Ferris. "And my answer was, 'Look, I understand what your concerns are. The song's not meant to be that way, I understand your concerns. My opinion, if you need to go after me in order to raise attention and awareness, by all means, use my song for that. If you like it or don't like it, if you can make something good happen from it, then by all means, I'm not going to be offended.'"

McGraw added, "And now when I play Native American casinos, when I meet with the elders or the chiefs before the show, I always say, 'You know, I have "Indian Outlaw" on my set, but I'm happy to take it out if it's offensive.' And invariably, 99.9% of the time they [say], 'That's why we hired you is to sing that song!' So they love it. So it's been really good to me."

2010's Classic Production Ranked Best 'Broadway Show’ Right Now

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 3:57pm

With the large variety of shows to pick from, deciding which Broadway production to see has proven to be a daunting choice. Luckily, there are a few options that rarely let crowds down.

This past week, Broadway.com has ranked the 10 best shows to see as of February 2026, compiling a list of the most entertaining acts to grace broadway stages right now. Beating out both Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2016 classic Hamilton at No. 2 and Winnie Holzman's iconic 2003 show Wicked at No. 3, J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took the top spot.

Initially kicking off as a five hour long two-part stage play in July of 2016 in London's West End, the show had its Broadway debut in April 2018. The script, which was released as a book just one day after its stage debut in London, serves as a continuation of the original Harry Potter series.

The plot follows Harry Potter's son Albus Severus Potter, and Draco Mallfoy's son, Scorpius Malfoy, 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts. When the pair comes into contact with a Time-Turner and uses it to alter the past, they subsequently create a dangerous timeline in which Voldemort won. Throughout the nail-biting show, Albus and Scorpius grapple with the consequences of history while navigating friendship, family legacies and the ever-changing wizarding world.

Actor Tom Felton and the rest of the cast acknowledge the audience during the curtain call of his first performance in the "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" show in New York on November 11, 2025.

Since its debut, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has achieved significant critical acclaim and mainstream success. It is widely applauded for its innovative, non-digital special effects that make the viewing experience all the more engaging.

The play has gone on to break records as the highest-grossing non-musical play in Broadway history, selling over 3.5 million tickets and raking in over $430 million in sales. It has also won nine Olivier Awards—the most a single play has ever won—and secured six Tony awards, solidifying itself as a global phenomenon.
