Tilly Returns! Mary Wiseman Returns for the Next Episode of 'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy'

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 9:08am

We're only two episodes away from the first season finale of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. In it, Tilly (Mary Wiseman) returns to help the cadets finally face their trauma over the events on the U.S.S. Miyazaki where one cadet died at the hands of the Furies and indirectly, Nus Braka (Paul Giamatti).

In this week's episode, Tilly returns to take the cadets on a journey to deal with the aftermath of their first joint training mission with the War College that ended in disaster. In the failed mission, the away team lost B'avi (Alexander Eling) after the students fought back against the Furies long enough for their instructors to beam them back.

Here’s everything to know about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 1, Episode 8, airing Thursday, Feb. 26 on Paramount+.

What is Star Trek: Starfleet Academy about?

This new Paramount+ series follows a group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers. But as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries and first loves, the cadets must also face a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.

What happened in last week's episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy?

In "Ko'Zeine," last week's episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, students headed out for a long holiday weekend. Darem (George Hawkins) was "kidnapped" in a what we learned was a longstanding Khionan marriage ritual. SAM (Kerrice Brooks) headed off to a spa for photonics in hopes they could repair the glitches she had been experiencing since she was attacked on the Miyazaki.

Off to pack for his own weekend getaway, Darem was kidnapped. Jay-Den (Karim Diané), witnessing this, decides to go after his friends instead of heading out for a holiday in Ibiza with Kyle (Dale Whibley). It turns out the kidnapping was actually some sort of Khionian wedding hazing. Darem had been betrothed to Kaira (Jaelynn Thora Brooks), a royal childhood friend, but thought he had a few more years of freedom before he had to report for duty. To explain Jay-Den's presence, Darem says he's his best man or Ko'Zeine, much to Jay-Den's chagrin.

Believing he had a few years before the nuptials, Kaira explains that her parents are stepping down and she is soon to be queen. While Darem loves Kaira, it doesn't seem like a romantic love and the marriage is more of an obligation he promised long ago. Even so, a promise is a promise and he resigns himself to his fate. The wedding ultimately goes off without a hitch, but after Jay-Den makes his toast (he didn't sweat probably because he was so cold the entire time on the Khionian moon), Kaira realizes Darem was happiest when he learned he would be going to Starfleet Academy.

Kaira decides to give her childhood friend his freedom and she will rule alone. To end the shortest marriage on record, Darem must ask to annul the marriage, not she. Once done, Jay-Den decides they better beat feet before Kaira changes her mind.

Back on campus before Genesis (Bella Shepard) is about to leave to meet up with her Starfleet admiral father for the holiday, Chancellor Ake (Holly Hunter) pulls her aside to let her know she's putting her on the command-course track. Excited, Genesis can't wait to start her new courseload until Ake mentions one thing...

Caleb (Sandro Rosta) talks Ake into letting him stay at the Academy instead of having to go to a host family that he doesn't know for the weekend. She reluctantly agrees. Later, Caleb was soaking up some rays (cue gratuitous shirtless shot), Genesis has return from her holiday early. Turns out her Admiral dad had a symposium and she'd be kicking rocks the whole time so she returned to the Academy.

The two end up wasting time together and accidentally let loose a warp slug and attempt to avoid Professor Reno (Tig Notaro) when she comes into the room. When Genesis wants to go on the bridge, Caleb ultimately helps her hack her way in, but it turns out her return was not without its ulterior motive. Before leaving, Ake had mentioned Genesis' registration application packet would be forwarded to the selecting committee for the command-track and they would review it and her letters of recommendation.

Model student Genesis Lythe isn't a model student after all. She altered her rec letters because they all said her motivations were driven out of fear. The two are discovered by Reno and Ake pulls her from the command track after she learns what had happened.

Jerry O'Connell Shares 'Emotional' Struggle Watching Reiners' Murder Trial: 'Rob Was Like A Father To Me'

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 9:06am

As the trial of Nick Reiner continues to get underway, Stand by Me actor Jerry O'Connell is sharing his honest thoughts about what the ongoing legal battle has been like from his personal standpoint.

Appearing on Fox 5's Good Day New York, the 52-year-old O'Connell began by saying, "For those who may not know, I am an actor, and I was in Stand by Me. It was my first job, and Rob Reiner was the director of Stand by Me. And this is very emotional for me to hear about."

At the time, O'Connell was only 12-years-old when he appeared in the 1986 coming-of-age drama, starring alongside fellow child actors Will Wheaton, Corey Feldman and River Phoenix.

Adapted from a novella by Stephen King, Stand by Me was directed by celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner. On December 14, 2025, the director and his wife, Michele, were both found fatally stabbed to death, with their son Nick charged with his parents' killing.

"It's going to be very difficult going through this whole trial process," O'Connell said of the case. "I'm going to be watching it closely in the hopes that it doesn't become one of these circuses that sometimes happen around these murder trials. It's very emotional and chilling, and it's churning up a lot of emotions."

O'Connell's sentiments echo his similarly emotional response after learning about the Reiners' deaths in December of last year. One day after the couple were found in their Los Angeles home, O'Connell paid tribute to his long-time friend and director with his appearance on CBS Mornings.

"I just feel like a parent has passed," he said on CBS Mornings. "You know, I don't mean this as any offense to my parents who are still with us [but] Rob was like a father to me. It's just surreal."

Jeff Probst Reveals What Shocked Him Most About 'Survivor 50' (Exclusive)

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:54am

June 2023. Jeff Probst and the intrepid team behind Survivor has just wrapped filming Season 46. But, like the best players, they're already looking ahead, specifically to one big milestone: Survivor 50. What followed were countless hours of seemingly endless configurations of returning players, tribe divisions, twists, etc. Ultimately, however, they chose to leave many decisions "in the hands of the fans," as devoted viewers got to vote on everything from tribe colors to whether there would be Final Four firemaking.

Now, we stand on the precipice of Survivor 50 finally arriving, with a supersized three-hour premiere on CBS. So when Parade got the chance to talk with the host and executive producer at SCAD TVFest, where he was being honored with the Legend of Television Award, we had to ask what surprised him the most about what unfolded on those beaches across 26 days, considering the lengthy journey it took to get there.

🔥Don’t miss our weekly Survivor newsletter! Sign up to get Mike Bloom’s exclusive interviews with the players and the latest news about the show right to your inbox.🔥

"You know, what surprised me the most, I guess, is that it worked," he replies. "I mean, because we bit off a lot. The first time I wrote down an idea for Survivor 50 was June of 2023. That's how long this has been percolating to try to figure it out and pick the right people and figure out the challenges and what twists do we get to do thanks to the fans. But it worked."

"Picking the right people" is, arguably, the most essential element to any season of Survivor, let alone arguably its biggest season to date. This historic group of 24 players ranges from multi-season legends to long-awaited returns, spanning the show's first season to its most recent. But, of course, the dedicated fanbase had things to say about the two dozen people that were chosen. Some highlighted the fact that half the cast came from the show's "new era." Others took umbrage with the fact that nobody who debuted between Seasons 18 and 32 is on the cast. But Probst explains how the casting process for Season 50 was less about putting people from all eras of the show and more about channeling what they represent.

"What we kept coming back to is we want to celebrate all of it," the Emmy winner recalls. "Even though Russell Hantz isn't going to be on this season, he's a part of it. So we want the flavor that a Russell Hantz season had. And even though we aren't going to have Winners at War players on, we want some winners on that. Some people will be happy. Some won't be happy. We're very happy. Everybody came and delivered."

Related: Jeff Probst Reveals How Much ‘Survivor 50’s Celebrity Cameos Will Change the Game (Exclusive)

"The players showed up," he continues. "They showed up. Fans will be happy to know that the players we picked came to play. That's what's desired from somebody. Don't just come out and be. You come out and play the game. And they do out of the gate. Game is on all the way to the end. And when it was over, a bunch of us looked at this whiteboard in my office, and we went, 'Oh, my God, we did everything.' We hope the fans like it. But from our standpoint as a production, we did it."

The scariest part of this entire process for Probst and company, of course, lies with the theme. In the past, fan votes have determined things like who received a postseason fan-favorite prize, and in one particular instance, even an entire cast. But this was the first time production elements would be decided by viewers. And part of the process of settling on "In the Hands of the Fans" would be letting go of what they want the season to be.

"The biggest fear for me was, 'Okay, what are you going to do if they want to give them rice and give them their tribe supplies, and they don't want any idols, no twists, no advantages, no switch?'" Probst says about the various votes that occurred across the first half of 2025. "So Matt [Van Wagenen] and I and the producers just sat around going, 'Okay, here's how we do it.' It would actually be interesting to see Jenna [Lewis-Dougherty] from Season 1, who played that game, she didn't have any of this stuff. Versus somebody like Kyle [Fraser] or Savannah [Louie], who just finished that season. And what would win out? Would strategy and social relationships dominate?"

Despite how much was out of their hands, the team had to plan for every contingency. And Probst reveals that, behind the scenes, they mapped out decision trees of all the various possibilities based on the results of the vote. Think of it as a "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure," just with a million dollars on the line.

Related: ‘Survivor’s Mount Rushmore: The Legends Who Built a 50-Season Legacy (Exclusive)

"We felt fine no matter what," he says of working through all the options. "Even the one tree says they don't want anything in the game, and they want to give the players food, and they want to give them rice, all the things you wouldn't want as a game designer. We're like, 'Great. We'll finally give fans what they want. You want to go back to Season 1? Great.' It didn't matter to us because of who we picked."

That's perhaps the most interesting part of all of this. With every Survivor season, there are infinite possibilities of what could happen at any given time. Those infinite possibilities are squared (even if that's mathematically impossible) thanks to all the different ways this season could be structured. But it seems like Probst and crew were surprisingly stress-free about what Survivor 50 could look like, trusting in the cast they assembled.

"You'll see it in the episodes. They showed up. They would have played with everything on the board. They would have played with nothing on the board. They just wanted to play. So for us, yeah, there were contingency plans. But the stakes weren't as high as you think, because we were okay either way. I knew what I wanted. I wanted everything. I mean, I wanted them to say, 'Go for broke and don't give them anything.' But that's why we turned it over to the fans. I've been getting what I want for a long time. Now you get what you want."

Before these 24 contestants arrived in Fiji, Survivor 50 was "in the hands of the fans." But, for the next few months, it's in the hands of the players. And it sounds like, according to Probst, we're in good hands.

Ethan Hawke Made Rare Public Appearance With 2 Daughters for Film Festival

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:52am

Ethan Hawke made a rare red carpet appearance with his two youngest daughters at the 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where he was honored with the prestigious American Riviera Award.

The 55-year-old actor attended the Fe. 6 ceremony at The Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California, joined by wife Ryan Shawhughes Hawke and daughters Clementine, 17, and Indiana, 14.

The award recognizes outstanding achievement in American film. Hawke received the honor from Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, who also walked the red carpet with the family.

Clementine wore a white floral slip dress paired with a white cardigan, while Indiana chose a navy blue slip dress with lace details. Their mom, Ryan, stood out in a gold metallic gown with an art deco design. The family posed together, marking a rare public outing for the two teens, who are seldom seen at major Hollywood events.

Hawke shares Clementine and Indiana with Ryan, whom he married in 2008. He is also father to actress Maya Hawke and Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke from his previous marriage to Uma Thurman.

Although Hawke has worked in film for over four decades, he often keeps his younger daughters out of the spotlight. Clementine has appeared with her father before at the same festival in 2021, when he presented the Montecito Award to Amanda Seyfried. Indiana, meanwhile, has mostly stayed away from red carpets.

Hawke has spoken proudly about his children over the years. When Maya made her screen debut in the BBC adaptation of Little Women, he called it “one of the most amazing moments of my life.”

He told PEOPLE,  “She didn't do a good job, she did a great job. To see your child thrive, and to see her thrive at a profession that you have a lot of respect for, that I've dedicated my life to, I was so proud of her.”

Maya, now 27, recently married musician Christian Lee Hutson in New York City on Valentine’s Day, with both Hawke and Thurman present. Levon, 24, has also stepped into acting and fashion, often attending major events.

In January, Hawke shared during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert how his younger daughters joked about fame, saying, “It’s hard having a famous sister. Nobody cares about my dad. ... My sister’s picture is in the lockers everywhere.” The comment showed how grounded the family remains despite their Hollywood success.

Hawke’s film festival honor came during a busy awards season for the actor. He is currently nominated for a BAFTA and an Academy Award for his role in Blue Moon (2025).

Just days ago at the BAFTA Awards, actor Robert Aramayo surprised many by winning Best Actor in a category that included Hawke. During his speech, Aramayo thanked Hawke for inspiring him years earlier.

“When I was in school Ethan Hawke came to speak to us at Juilliard and he gave an amazing talk on longevity as an actor, about protecting your instrument and avoiding self destructive behaviours,” Aramayo said. “And it had a great impact on every one in that room, so to be in this category with you tonight is incredible. Thank you Ethan!”

With awards nominations, emotional tributes and family milestones all happening within weeks, many were reminded why he remains one of Hollywood’s most respected actors, not just for his work, but for the pride he clearly takes in being a father.

Donnie Wahlberg Admits He Was 'Disappointed' When 'Blue Bloods' Was Abruptly Canceled

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:37am

Donnie Wahlberg is speaking out after the backlash surrounding the Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue.

Fans of the original series, which first premiered in 2010, weren't happy to hear that the show had been canceled, and Wahlberg puts himself in the same bucket.

"I can assure every viewer out there that nobody was more disappointed than me. Nobody cried more than me. Nobody’s heart was broken more than mine," Wahlberg told Us Weekly. "I fought tooth and nail to save Blue Bloods. I did everything I could."

After Boston Blue was announced, fans learned that there'd be some re-casting. For example, Andrew Terraciano's Sean was taken over by Mika Amonsen, a decision that didn't sit well with some viewers.

When Us Weekly asked Wahlberg about the backlash, he explained that he initially had his own reservations. However, he gives Amonsen credit for stepping into the role and making it his own.

"People’s disappointment in the decision tells me they haven’t watched the show or they’re also disappointed that 'Blue Bloods' is gone," Wahlberg said. "If anyone hasn’t fully embraced the change of Sean, watch the midseason premiere. It is just my favorite episode so far. I admire Mika for taking on this challenge and I admire the way he’s handled it. I love his work. I think both versions of Sean off screen are two amazing individuals and I give them both a tremendous amount of credit for how they’ve handled this change."

Boston Blue seems to winning over the masses. In November 2025, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the spinoff had reached the No. 9 spot for total viewers for the first five weeks of the 2025-26 season with more than eight million. Boston Blue had more viewers than Chicago PD, Survivor, and Law & Order: SVU.

CBS has already renewed Boston Blue for a second season, which is expected to drop later this year.

Disney World's Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run Receives A Major Update

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:31am

Disney has officially shed further on the changes in store for the wildly popular Hollywood Studios attraction, Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run.

According to the company's official park website, Disney will make several key changes to the Star Wars-themed simulator-based attraction starting this coming summer.

As Disney hinted on their site, "A New Mission Is Coming Soon."

"Beginning May 22, 2026, join Din Djarin, the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his youngling Grogu on an exciting new mission — tracking down elusive ex-Imperial officers throughout the galaxy," the ride's updated description reads.

If that weren't already exciting enough, Disney also confirmed a major new change in the ride's mechanics, stating that all passengers aboard the ship will have the option to pilot the Millennium Falcon to completely new destinations, including several beloved planets from the original Star Wars films.

"For the first time ever, the crew will be in control of their own destination, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant," Disney continued.

Additionally, the new change will also allow passengers inhabiting the "engineer" roles aboard the ship to interact with a certain lovable character straight from the Star Wars series, giving fans another reason to hop on board the popular Disney World atttraction.

"A new gameplay addition allows the engineer positions to communicate with Grogu during the mission," Disney teased.

The new changes in store for the cherished Hollywood Studios attraction will coincide with the release of the highly anticipated Mandalorian and Grogu, debuting in theaters the same day as Smugglers Run's official transformation (May 22).

A full-length spinoff of the well-received Mandalorian Disney+ series, Mandalorian and Grogu will feature the titular characters as they embark on an epic adventure to eliminate the last remnants of the evil Galactic Empire.

2010s Hit Ranked ‘Most Universally Loved TV Show’ of All Time

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:30am

Breaking Bad continues to solidify its iconic status as one of the notable TV shows in history, even 13 years after concluding the series in 2013.

For five triumphant years and five successful seasons, the AMC hit show introduced legendary characters and intense storytelling that truly captivated the global audience.

With its debut in 2008, the American crime drama series solidified its place in television history. Not only did it enter the coveted Guinness World Records in 2014 as the Highest-Rated TV Series, but it also ranked as the “Most Universally Loved TV Show” of all time, as cited by Collider.

In the list of beloved TV shows, the publication named eight TV shows that were considered extremely popular and highly regarded by viewers across regions and different age groups.

With this, Breaking Bad secured the top spot, with the publication describing it as “the greatest small-screen crime drama of all time.”

The award-winning series follows the story of a high school chemistry teacher named Walter White (Bryan Cranston) who is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

To secure his family’s financial future, he turned cooking methamphetamine into a highly lucrative yet risky business.

To make it work on a larger scale, he teamed up with Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), his former student and a small-time crystal meth dealer.

With the success of his illegal business, he turned from a modest chemistry teacher into a ruthless drug kingpin. The duo faced life-threatening challenges due to the consequences of their choices.

Not only did it establish Cranston’s place as one of television's most acclaimed actors, but he also considered it to be the most memorable character he ever played.

“This is the greatest role of my life,” he told The Howard Stern Show in 2012, adding, “I know that I will never have another role as good as Walter White.”

According to the show, Matthew Broderick and John Cusack were also considered for the role, but it ultimately went to Cranston, earning him four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, the Golden Globe Awards in 2014 for Best Actor in a Television Drama and others.

On the other hand, the multi-awarded show The Sopranos made it to the second spot as the Most Universally Loved TV Show of all time, followed by Avatar: The Last Airbender at third, Lucille Ball’s I Love Lucy at fourth place and comedy sitcomSeinfeldlanding at top five.

Completing the top 8 spots are Sesame Street, The Twilight Zone and Cheers.

1988 Supergroup Marks Birthday of Beatles Icon Nelson Wilbury

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:27am

A 1998 supergroup honored the birthday of their "brother", Nelson Wilbury, in an unforgettable social media post.

Beatles legend, George Harrison, was recognized on his birthday by the official Traveling Wilburys' Instagram page. The musician and songwriter would have turned 83 on February 25, 2026.

The page posted a photograph of Harrison in character as Nelson, one of a band of brothers in the late '80s supergroup. Along with the Beatles legend, the Traveling Wilburys consisted of Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Harrison’s longtime drummer Jim Keltner as Buster Sidebury.

Fans of the iconic band shared their best wishes on social media. Many recalled Harrison’s unforgettable contributions to the Traveling Wilburys.

"Birthday greetings to our sweet Nelson Willbury," wrote one follower. "Eternal LEGEND," penned a second.

"By George, we miss you!" exclaimed a third fan. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE WILBURY!! Love ya Nelson," declared a fourth Instagram user.

The Traveling Wilburys was a band formed in April 1988 when Harrison needed a B-side to his single "This Is Love." He cut a track with Lynne, Dylan, Orbison, and Petty, and found they had such a great chemistry, they decided to record a full album.

Per Billboard, Mo Ostin of Warner Bros. wrote in the liner notes of 2007’s The Traveling Wilburys Collection box set, “Warner Bros. Records’ International Department had asked that George Harrison come up with a B-side for ‘This Is Love,’ a single from his Cloud Nine album. At the time it was customary to couple an A-side with a never-before-heard track, giving it extra sales value.”

Cloud Nine was just out. George, along with cowriter Jeff Lynne and their friends Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison, had been hanging out in Dylan’s studio. I suppose George figured that as long as his pals were on hand, why not use them to knock off this flipside?”

The supergroup released one self-titled album, The Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1, with its original lineup in October 1988. The band had two hit singles, "End of the Line," and "Handle With Care." The Traveling Wilburys Volume 3 (there was no Vol. 2) was released two years later, in 1990, without Roy Orbison, who died in 1998.

Happy Birthday to George Harrison! What are your favorite songs and memories of the late musician? Tell us them below.

When you first wake up, you may be in a rush to caffeinate. While grabbing a cup of coffee or tea will wake you up, it may not be the best option for your digestive system. Gastroenterologists say you should drink something else instead.

Drinking too much coffee can irritate the stomach lining, increase acid production, and worsen symptoms like heartburn, bloating or abdominal discomfort, says Dr. Douglas Weine, MD, a gastroenterologist at Red Bank Gastroenterology, a division of Allied Digestive Health.

“Caffeine also speeds up intestinal contractions, which for some people can lead to loose stools or diarrhea,” he says. “While moderate coffee intake is generally well-tolerated and even beneficial for many, too much can disrupt normal digestion rather than support it.”

Coffee also has diuretic properties, meaning it helps the body remove extra salt and water. This can be dehydrating. When you wake up in the morning, you’ve typically gone several hours without water, so you need to replenish those fluids.

“Hydration helps things move smoothly through your gut,” says Dr. Aditi Stanton, MD, a gastroenterologist at Gastro Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. It can also be rehydrating after sleeping for eight hours.

Getting into new habits with what you drink first thing in the morning can actually set you up for optimal digestion for the rest of the day. This is especially important once you reach 50. Here’s what gastroenterologists want you to know.

The One Morning Habit To Improve Digestion All Day

Drinking a glass of water when you first wake up (before sipping on coffee) can help you rehydrate after a night’s sleep, Dr. Stanton says.

Related: ‘I’m a Gastroenterologist—This Is the Most Overlooked Cause of Digestive Issues’

“After several hours of sleep, the body is mildly dehydrated, and the GI tract works best when it’s well hydrated,” Dr. Weine says. “Drinking water first helps wake up the digestive system, supports normal bowel movements, and can reduce the chance of coffee irritating an empty stomach.”

Coffee, specifically, can stimulate acid production and intestinal motility, meaning it can make you poop, he says, so having some water beforehand may “make digestion feel smoother and more comfortable.”

Drinking coffee on an empty stomach can worsen heartburn if you’re prone to it, Dr. Stanton adds. So, “Starting with water can help dilute and wash out the acid.”

Every day, you should try to drink about 11.5 to 15.5 cups of water a day, according to the Mayo Clinic. First thing in the morning is a good time to start hydrating.

How Coffee Affects the Digestive System

Drinking coffee can help you have a bowel movement by stimulating the gastrointestinal tract, Dr. Stanton says. “But too much can backfire and trigger heartburn, abdominal cramping or loose and urgent stools.”

Research shows that coffee can rev up two hormones, gastrin and cholecystokinin, triggering the gastrocolic reflex (an involuntary response where eating or drinking makes you need to poop). This leads to colon contractions and a bowel movement.

Some people may experience diarrhea after drinking coffee, Dr. Weine adds. A moderate amount of the popular beverage, about three to four cups a day, is safe for most people, though.

Drinking coffee is also associated with several health benefits, especially cardiovascular, metabolic, liver and neurological health, he explains. One study showed that coffee consumption may be connected to a lower risk of colorectal cancer.

Why This Matters Even More as You Age

As you get older, you’re more prone to dehydration and constipation and may be more sensitive to stomach acid, Dr. Weine says. So starting the day with a glass of water can be particularly helpful when you’re 50 and older.

Related: Exactly What To Eat and Drink When You Haven’t Pooped in Days

“As we get older, we don’t always feel thirst as strongly, and many people are on medications that can affect fluid balance or bowel habits,” Dr. Stanton says.

Drinking water first thing can help reduce instances of heartburn and constipation, she says. It can also improve stool consistency and overall gut health, Dr. Weine says.

It will also keep you hydrated, which is crucial to overall health as you age. Research suggests that drinking a glass of water when you first wake up not only reduces thirst, it may also improve fatigue and mood; add a second glass, and it can help boost your memory.

Whenever you notice any new and persistent digestive changes, like diarrhea, constipation or pain, you should see your doctor.

Sebastian Bach Addresses Skid Row Reunion Drama: ‘Beating My Head Against a Wall’

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:19am

Sebastian Bach is standing behind his past comments about a potential future Skid Row reunion, but he’s also not waiting around. In a lengthy interview on Elizabeth Zharoff’s The Charismatic Voice podcast, Bach, 57, explained his past comment that “there is really no reason why the original Skid Row cannot reunite.”

“I've been saying that for 35 years,” the singer said on the February 2026 podacst.

When asked if he would want to do another tour with his former Skid Row bandmates, Bach replied, “Well, the short answer is yes, because we're all still alive. And we have millions of fans who would like to see it, and we're entertainers.”

“And you know, the more I keep saying yes, yes, yes, but they don't do anything, then I'm like, well, I mean, at some point, it's like beating my head against a wall,” Bach added of his former bandmates Rachel Bolan and Dave “Snake” Sabo.

Bach originally made the remark during a 2024 interview with New Jersey’s 105.5.

"There’s really no reason why the original Skid Row cannot reunite,” he said at the time. “And the reason I say that is because we’re all still alive and we’re all healthy. And I really think the reason that has never happened is just business. You can’t be mad at somebody that you haven’t been in a room with since 1996.”

Bach fronted the classic lineup of Skid Row with Bolan, Sabo, Scotti Hill, and Rob Affuso from 1987 to 1996, and was the voice of their biggest hits, including “Youth Gone Wild,” “18 and Life,” and “I Remember You.”

Skid Row has since been fronted by Johnny Solinger,Tony Harnell, ZP Theart, and Erik Gronwall. In addition, Halestorm leader Lzzy Hale sang with the band for some shows in 2024, per Ultimate Classic Rock

Bach recently told The Metal Voice that while he would agree to a Skid Row reunion, he isn’t waiting around for it. “I got my own band. I got my own albums, and I play tons of shows. I'm extremely busy,” he said in January.

He elaborated on Zharoff’s podcast, adding, “My band is doing really good. Like, we're not looking for work. We are tearing it up."

Bach is also very happy with his solo work. "I would hate to be in a position where I couldn't do the song 'What Do I Got' to lose. It's literally my favorite song of the set. And that's a solo song," he said. "So maybe if I rejoined Skid Row, I would sing one of their songs they did without me, and they could do one of my songs that I did without them. That would be interesting. I would be willing to think about that.”

Skid Row is looking for a new lead singer again

Back previously told the Get on the Bus podcast that the fact that the classic Skid Row bandmates are not together “doesn't make any sense.” “We're five guys that are playing the same set, but we're not together. Well, they don't have a singer right now, but…” he said in 2025.

Skid Row has since launched a search for a new lead singer, and Sabo has been adamant that the band will never reunite with Bach.

“It’s not gonna happen,” the Skid Row guitarist told the Hook Rocks podcast in a 2024 interview. “I’m thankful that people have such an interest in wanting to see that happen, but I also have to reiterate that this is about being happy in the situation that you’re in. … There’s three of us — myself, Scotti, and Rachel — who’ve had conversations about this, and we’ve all been on the same page that we don’t wanna go down that road again. We just — we don’t.”

This 1956 Country No. 1 Gave a Future Icon His First National Break

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:13am

On Feb. 25, 1956, a country ballad quietly climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country & Western chart, giving a then-rising singer his first country breakthrough. The song, "I Forgot to Remember to Forget," introduced millions of listeners to a distinctive voice that blended country heartbreak with a new, electrifying edge—a sound that would soon reshape popular music and turn Elvis Presley into a household name.

Presley recorded the track, which was written by Stan Kesler and Charlie Feathers, in 1955. At the time, he was signed with Sun Records. The song became his first national No. 1 record, setting him up for great success in the industry.

The No. 2 song on Billboard's Country & Western chart that day was Red Sovine and Webb Pierce's "Why, Baby, Why." In the No. 3 spot, you'll find "Love, Love, Love," and "If You Were Me," both by Webb Pierce, in a tie.

Longtime Presley fans reminisced about the song on Facebook.

"Early Elvis was the best. Enjoyed hearing many of his earlier work," one person wrote.

"When I hear these early songs by Elvis it's almost hard to imagine how his voice changed throughout the years," someone else said.

"Love the sun records. The studio setting and the microphone made his voice sound so raw and unique," a third comment read.

Presley's career only became more successful from here. He's had 18 No. 1 singles on the Billboard pop charts.

"Despite his career pre-dating the Hot 100’s start, Presley became the first artist to chart as many as 100 entries on the ranking, and he held the record for the most charted Hot 100 titles from late 1964 through early 2011," Billboard reports.

‘90s Classic Voted ‘Most Groundbreaking TV Drama’ of All Time

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:11am

A beloved 1990s mystery series has claimed the top spot on Collider’s list of the most groundbreaking TV dramas ever. The honor went to Twin Peaks, the surreal small-town thriller co-created by David Lynch and Mark Frost.

The ranking places the ABC drama above other heavy hitters like The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. While those shows changed television in major ways, Collider says Twin Peaks did it first.

The series first aired on ABC on April 8, 1990. It ran for two seasons before ending in 1991. A revival season, Twin Peaks: The Return, premiered on Showtime in 2017, 25 years after the original finale.

The title scene screen grab from the pilot episode of the television series 'Twin Peaks,' originally broadcast on April 8, 1990.

At its heart, Twin Peaks begins with one big question: “Who killed Laura Palmer?” The murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer shocks the quiet logging town of Twin Peaks, Washington.

FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle MacLachlan, arrives to solve the case. What starts as a murder mystery quickly becomes something stranger, filled with dreams, dark secrets and supernatural forces.

Before cable dramas became known for cinematic quality, Twin Peaks brought movie-style storytelling to network television. The show mixed mystery, horror, soap opera drama and quirky comedy in a way viewers had never seen before.

The pilot episode alone set a new standard. It introduced Laura’s tragic death, her grieving mother Sarah’s shocking vision, and the eerie tone that would define the series. In one alternate international ending of the pilot, the story dives even deeper into supernatural elements, including the terrifying entity BOB and the mysterious Red Room. These strange images became part of the show’s lasting mythology.

The series also explored dark themes like abuse, trauma and dual identities. In a major Season 2 reveal, Laura’s father, Leland Palmer, is exposed as her killer while under the possession of BOB. The episode, directed by Lynch himself, remains one of the most disturbing hours in television history.

In a 2017 interview with TVLine, Lynch said, “The pilot is the only thing I am particularly, extremely proud of. There were great moments along the way. The second season sucked.” His frustration mostly came from network pressure that forced the mystery to be solved earlier than planned.

When Lynch returned for The Return in 2017, he made sure history would not repeat itself. He directed every episode to keep the story consistent. “I wanted it to hold together,” he explained. “I see it as a film.”By naming Twin Peaks the most groundbreaking TV drama of all time, Collider acknowledges that modern prestige television stands on its shoulders. Lightning struck once in 1990 and again in 2017.

1971 Classic Ranked ‘Greatest Album of All Time’

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:07am

When Rolling Stone updated their "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list in 2020 and even made a special coffee table book for their list, this 1970s classic was consistently crowned the No. 1 spot.

The "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" article by Rolling Stone is a huge collaborative project created by the music publication's staff and hundreds of artists, producers, critics and industry experts that was established in 2003, where they first named The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds as the top album. When the list was revised again in 2012, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles was No. 1.

In 2020, when Rolling Stone revisited the list for a third time, Marvin Gaye's 11th studio album, What's Going On, earned the top spot. The revision done during that year was a significant overhaul of the 2003 and 2012 lists, highlighting more artists of color and females this time. The listicle was rewritten again in 2023, and the album still kept its spot.

Released on May 21, 1971 by the Motown Records subsidiary label Tamla, What's Going On is a concept album that is told in the POV of a Vietnam War veteran returning to his home country to witness hatred, suffering and injustice. Many of the songs explore themes of drug abuse, poverty and the war itself.

The album was recorded in various studios in Detroit and at The Sound Factory in Los Angeles in March and May 1971. This is Gaye's first album where he is credited as a producer, and it allowed him to leave the traditional Motown production model and gave the artist complete creative control.

A lot of the stories and songs from the album were inspired by Gaye's own life, specifically when his brother Frankie returned from Vietnam. After falling into a deep depression after the failure of his marriage with Anna Gordy, the death of one of his good friends and duet partner Tammi Terrell, burning out at work and eventually stopping all live performances, he tried to start a career as an NFL player for the Detroit Lions, but did not make the team.

Gaye eventually came back into the studio and produced What's Going On by himself, which was a radical move at Motown. The label did not release it for months, until the singer threatened he would never record with them again. The project was finally released, and it was an instant success. What's Going On became a huge masterpiece and inspired many Motown artists, including Stevie Wonder, to seek artistic freedom. It is also cited that the record is significant to the development of the progressive soul genre.

American singer, songwriter and record producer Marvin Gaye performs live on stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 27th September 1976.

David Redfern/Redfern

Commonly referred to as the "Prince of Motown" and "Prince of Soul," Gaye is often considered one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time. Born as Marvin Pentz Gay Jr. and raised in Washington, D.C., he began his career with Harvey Fuqua's group, Harvey and the Moonglows, before venturing into a solo career in the early 1960s. His debut album, The Soulful Moods of Marvin Gaye, was released in 1961, but did not gain success until he released "Stubborn Kind of Fellow" the next year, which became his first song to hit the Billboard Hot 100. Throughout his two-decade career, he released 17 studio albums and six collaborative albums. In addition, multiple posthumous albums were released years after his death, with the most recent one being Funky Nation: The Detroit Instrumentals in 2021.

The "Mercy Mercy Me" singer passed away on April 1, 1984, at his Los Angeles home a day before his 45th birthday. A physical altercation that happened between him and his father, Marvin Gay Sr., led to him shooting his son twice with a gun that was given to him by the singer's bodyguard months prior, killing Gaye almost instantly.

Though it has been years since his death, Gaye is still considered a prominent figure in music. What's Going On and the rest of his discography can be listened to on streaming platforms.

3 Birth Dates With Rare Emotional Depth, Per Experts

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:33am

How we process our emotions is a deeply personal experience, and no two people share the same inner world. Our differing backgrounds, lifestyles, and experiences shape who we are, which makes it important to remember that we cannot assume how someone else processes their feelings—whether they embrace this process or try to push their emotions aside.

According to numerology and astrology, three birth dates stand out as those most likely to explore emotional territory that many tend to avoid. Rather than simply experiencing their feelings, these individuals seek insight into the depths of their emotions, finding meaning in emotional awareness. While some who suppress their feelings may view this trait as oversensitivity or dramatics, these individuals create space for complexity, nuance, and soulful needs.

Which Birth Dates Carry Rare Emotional Depth?

Check for your birth date. Disregard your birth month.

COSMIC INSIGHT: The First Mercury Retrograde of 2026 Arrives—What It Means for Each Zodiac Sign

Born on the 18th: Universal Compassion

People born on the 18th are deeply attuned to universal truths. In numerology, their birth date reduces to the number 9, which symbolizes humanitarian compassion. They often have higher aims and lead with collective goodwill in mind. As a result, they are very mindful of their own inner goodwill. To make a difference in the world, it is essential to first be in tune with ourselves. With a strong sense of emotional awareness, they can challenge harmful beliefs, discard outdated thoughts, and remain open-minded in their pursuit of learning and growing from their mistakes, all in the interest of progressing humanity. Guided by Mars, the warrior planet, you understand the need to fight for justice by putting in proactive effort.

Born on the 24th: Intuitive Understanding

Born on the 24th? If your birthday lands on this date, you're often the most emotionally nurturing person in your circle. People find your charm elevating, but most of all, they respect your ability to hold space for others. Associated with the number 6 in numerology, the digit of domestic harmony, you know how to make people feel seen. However, this isn't limited to your external world. Your ability to look within yourself to understand your emotions makes you more open, vulnerable, and aligned with loved ones, promoting cooperation, compromise, and emotionally intelligent conversations. Ruled by Venus, the planet of love, you're inclined to take feelings seriously.

As a result, these people tend to possess a balance of analytical insight and emotional introspection, seeking answers within. Their mindful and observant nature allows them to connect the dots that many others overlook. People feel comfortable being silent or meditative in their presence, sensing a deep emotional reverence for just being attuned to one's inner world.

1984 Hit Became Famed ’80s Rock Band’s Only No. 1 Ever 42 Years Ago

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:30am

While people everywhere know the legendary 1980s rock band Van Halen—who have had many great hit songs and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame—it turns out that, surprisingly, only one of the band's songs ever topped the elusive Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The career-first achievement happened on Feb. 25, 1984, when Van Halen's song "Jump" officially reached the No. 1 spot, holding the position for five weeks. A fan of the band even shared a photo of the original chart listing, with "Jump" ahead of other rock hits, including Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon," Nena's "99 Luftballons," Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," and Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

The song originally came out in December 1983 as a single off Van Halen's sixth studio album, 1984. Other singles from the album included "I'll Wait," "Panama," and "Hot for Teacher."

"Jump" went on to earn a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, although it lost out to "Purple Rain" by Prince and The Revolution. Despite not winning a Grammy, "Jump" certainly made its mark on the world, and it's still seen as one of the best rock songs ever made.

Although this might be Van Halen's only Billboard Hot 100 hit, other songs still did amazingly well, with "Why Can't This Be Love" peaking at No. 2 in 1986 and "When It's Love" peaking at No. 5 in 1988, while there were many more that broke the top 40 positions.

But when you look at Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, Van Halen nabbed 13 No. 1 hits, including "Jump," "When It's Love," "Poundcake," "Me Wise Magic," and more. Van Halen also went on to win one Grammy in 1992 for Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal with their album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy Connects to Emotional 'RHONY' Star in Psychic Reading

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:22am

A former Real Housewives of New York star was stunned when her late best friend, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, reached out during an emotional psychic reading with Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry.

In 2024, Carole Radziwill, widow of John F. Kennedy Jr.'s cousin Anthony Radziwill, sat down for a reading with Henry and was stunned to learn he connected with Bessette. In a YouTube clip, Radziwill claimed that she was "skeptical" about the reading because her life was so public, but she was open to hearing what the medium had to say.

Henry claimed to have "no idea" who Radziwill was. He realized she was "cynical" of the results after she joked that he "had a file" on her underneath his notepad, which he did not.

It was then that the medium told the former reality star that he typically held an object in his left hand to best connect with their loved ones. She handed him a ring, and shortly thereafter, Radziwill was shocked at who seemed to come through in his reading.

Henry said, "There is a reference to an individual who died tragically at a very early age. The life she had inside of her was intense."

He continued, "It comes across like 'I'm a force.' And she comes through in that way."

"If she walked in a room, I feel like everyone looked at her. It's fabulous."

Radziwill knew "exactly who Tyler was connecting with." She continued, "Of course, when I gave Tyler the ring, he knew, he characterized her exactly as she was. It was so on point, I felt her presence."

Tyler continued that it was a "woman" acknowledging this "heavy" feeling before Radziwill told him the woman he was connecting with was Bessette. She called her "my closest friend" and "my cousin by marriage."

The RHONY star told the medium that the ring he was holding was a 1998 Christmas present from Bessette, who died in the summer of 1999.

"I just have to go on the record," Tyler concluded, "she viewed you like a sister. When she came through she said 'my sister.'"

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, along with her husband, John F. Kennedy Jr., and her sister Lauren Bessette, died in a plane crash on July 16, 1999.

That detail becomes important in light of what Devonta shared onscreen.

How Much Does Devonta Make? What He Said About His Income

In Love Is Blind episode 10, Devonta mentioned that the mortgage on his previous house in Charlotte was “like $5,200.”

He later described his income as variable, telling his fiancée Brittany, “It’s sales. It’s weird. One month I could make $12,000. One month I could make $40,000.”

While he didn’t elaborate further, the comment stood out because viewers had previously heard him described as a loan officer rather than just working in sales.

In reality, many loan officers operate in commission-based structures that resemble sales roles, particularly in mortgage lending. Income can fluctuate significantly depending on volume and market conditions.

Still, the $40,000 figure caught fans’ attention.

Why Did Devonta Bring Up a Prenup?

In episode 11, the discussion shifted from income to legal protection with a prenup.

Devonta told Brittany he didn’t want to “lose half” of what he had worked for and broached the idea of a prenup. When Brittany asked whether he was saying he definitely wanted one, he responded that it would make him feel “comfortable.”

Brittany admitted she would need to think about it. She added that knowing a prenup was in place might feel like he “had a plan to not fight” for their relationship.

While viewers didn’t see if Brittany agreed to a prenup, episode 11 showed both Devonta and Brittany at their bachelor and bachelorette parties which meant they were still together the night before their wedding. Whether or not they take the leap into marriage remains to be seen.

The Love Is Blind Season 10 finale premieres on Netflix on March 4.
