Dave Grohl Says He Had 'Absolutely Nothing to Do' With Daughter Violet’s Record Deal

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:07pm

Dave Grohl’s oldest daughter, Violet Maye Grohl, didn’t lean on her rockstar dad to land a record deal.

"So Violet, my daughter, she’s 19, about to turn 20, she made this album with a producer named Justin Raisen, and she did it on her own. She met the producer, and they would go to the studio every day, and she would send me songs when she was finished. But I had absolutely nothing to do with this record at all,”  the Foo Fighters frontman, 57, revealed during a Monday, February 23, interview on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X.

Violet waited until after the fact to broach the subject with her dad. "I had no idea. I knew she was looking to sign a record deal, and she was like, 'Hey Dad, can I come over for dinner tonight?' And I’m like, 'Yeah, sure. What do you want me to make?' And she came over and told me, like, 'I signed my record deal today,'" Grohl, who is a 16-time Grammy winner, recalled.

Though the former Nirvana drummer was out of the loop, it didn’t lessen his pride. "I’m just like, 'Oh my God!' So, I’m totally uninvolved. I’m the dad who wants to be there and know everything. And she’s just totally doing her own thing. It’s amazing,” Grohl gushed, adding that his daughter is “incredibly talented.”

Seeing his daughter’s passion went on to inspire Grohl’s upcoming album, Your Favorite Toy, set to release on April 24. "It really did,” he assured. “The way that they made that record and the energy of it, I was like, 'Oh, man. I’ve just been inspired by my daughter’s debut album.' It’s cool.”

Violet's debut album is slated to drop later this year following the release of her singles "THUM" and "Applefish" in December 2025.

Are JD and Elliot Still Together? ‘Scrubs’ Revival Answers Fans’ Biggest Question (Exclusive)

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 8:00pm

For Scrubs fans, there has remained one constant throughout nearly every season of the show: Are JD (Zach Braff) and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) together? With the show finally returning, the question has a new answer. And let's just say, much like the history of their relationship, the answer is a bit complicated.

At the end of Season 8, Elliot and JD had moved in together. In "My Finale," the original series finale of the hit comedy, JD sees a montage of his imagined future where he gets married to Elliot and they have a child together. By Season 9, those dreams are a reality. As JD returns to Sacred Heart to teach, Elliot sends him off to work while pregnant.

But the show has decided that the events of Season 9 are no longer canon. As the premiere episode of the revival, which aired tonight on ABC, revealed, JD and Elliot had indeed gotten married, but subsequently divorced.

"Yeah, I guess that is ret-conned," Braff told Parade in an exclusive interview.

"I think it was a great choice," added Chalke. "Where do you go from there if everything is happy and working out? The suspense of where it's going to go from there was a way better jumping-off point. Even within the first season, there's a lot of things that happen with them."

While it looked like JD and Elliot had this perfect life together, Braff wants to remind fans to reset their expectations.

"Fans need to be reminded that all those things that happened at the end of Season 8 that are projected onto the sheet that JD is looking at are what he daydreams will happen," he said in reference to the montage that played in "My Finale".

Related: Why Is This Beloved ‘Scrubs’ Character Missing From the Revival? Zach Braff Explains

The decision may surprise fans who took comfort in JD and Elliott’s apparent happy ending, but it doesn’t erase it. Instead, the revival treats that future as one possible version of events, not a promise. Their relationship still matters deeply, and their dynamic is very much a part of the new show.

What is unshakable, however, is the heart of the show. The JD–Turk bond remains central, something the cast was quick to confirm. “The bromance is alive,” Braff said, with Faison adding that it’s “stronger than ever.”

So are JD and Elliott still together? Not exactly, but their story isn’t over. The revival isn’t about undoing what fans loved. It’s about revisiting these characters with honesty, humor, and the understanding that life rarely unfolds exactly the way you imagined it would.

Book of the Month also highlighted Wild Dark Shore as the 2025 Lolly winner on its website.

“Atmospheric and gripping, this timeless story shines a light on a family’s fierce love and the indomitable nature of the human spirit,” the description read. “Profound, heart-wrenching and breathtakingly suspenseful, it is a book that will stay with you long after its final pages.”

Book of the Month offers a handful of books each month for subscribers to choose from, with their selections being mailed to them. Members later vote on the best book from the previous year, and the winner is awarded the Lolly.

Additional finalists for the 2025 Lolly included V.E. Schwab’sBury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, Layne Fargo’sThe Favorites, B.K. Borison’sFirst-Time Caller and Florence Knapp’sThe Names.

In recent years, recipients of the Lolly were some of the most popular and talked-about books of the year: Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid in 2019, The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett in 2020, The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah in 2021, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin in 2022, Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez in 2023 and The God of the Woods by Liz Moore in 2024.

Wild Dark Shore achieved similar success upon its March 2025 release, becoming an instant New York Times bestseller.

Suzannah Bentley from the Book of the Month editorial team described the novel as “the perfect rainy-day read for me, holed up in my apartment on an inclement weekend.”

She added, “This atmospheric and eerie novel swept me away to the other side of the globe—a setting drenched in salt water and ravaged by untamed weather, but threatened most by dangers that are all too human.”

Bentley went on to offer Book of the Month readers an appealing synopsis of the novel.

“Set on Shearwater, a remote island off the coast of Antarctica, Wild Dark Shore tells the story of the Salt family, who are caretakers of the island,” she teased. “Formerly a research station, due to rising sea levels Shearwater is now inhabited only by Dominic Salt and his three children. While inhospitable and challenging, the island is full of stark beauty and allows the family a deep connection with the natural world. As isolation begins to take its toll on the Salts’ dynamics, an unprecedented storm brings with it an unexpected visitor. Who is the mysterious woman who has washed ashore—and what will she discover about the Salt family and the past that has brought them to this remote corner of the world?”

Bentley concluded: “This sharp psychological drama explores the turmoil being wrought upon our natural world, and the turmoil that exists within complex family relationships. Wild Dark Shore challenges us to consider how we treat our loved ones and, ultimately, our planet.”

In addition to its Lolly win, Wild Dark Shore was also the November 2025 pick for Reese’s Book Club.

31 Years Ago Today, Frank Sinatra Performed This 1964 Hit for the Last Time Ever

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:32pm

Long before farewell tours became commonplace for music icons, one of the most legendary singers of all time played his last ever concert...and the final song he sang couldn't have been more meaningful.

On February 25, 1995, Frank Sinatra performed for the last time at the Palm Springs Marriott Desert Spring Resort in front of just about 1,200 people as part of the Frank Sinatra Desert Classic golf tournament, per This Day in Music.

He was 79 years old at the time and had been dealing with a number of health challenges, but that didn't stop Ol' Blue Eyes from delivering a stellar performance. The setlist included many of the singer's most beloved classics, including "Fly Me to the Moon," “I’ve Got the World on a String,” “You Make Me Feel So Young,” and “My Kind of Town" — not to mention his signature closing song, 1964's "The Best Is Yet to Come," which was later etched on his tombstone.

As Esquire reported, Sinatra was “clear, tough, on the money” and “in absolute control" throughout the show, per PM Magazine. Just a couple of years later, in 1997, he stopped making public appearances following a heart attack; the next year, on May 14, 1998, he died after another heart attack at the age of 82.

In the years after his death, Sinatra's final song choice took on even more weight.

As Far Out reported, "While Sinatra’s impact would exceed the walls of that blissful night in February 1995, ‘The Best Is Yet to Come’ might have become even more significant a final song choice considering its layered meanings, especially when applied in hindsight. Not only does it signal hope for the future, but it also enables an element of resignation, knowing that, despite his passing, everything will be alright — because Sinatra said so."

Lupita Nyong'o Shares Health Update After 2014 Uterine Fibroid Removal, Says She Now Has 'Over 50'

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:21pm

Lupita Nyong'o has long been open about her struggle with uterine fibroids—and she just gave a health update about whether she has to undergo surgery once again.

The 42-year-old actress initially opened up about her diagnosis in 2022, revealing that eight years prior she underwent surgery to remove 23 fibroids. The painful condition involves noncancerous growths forming on the uterus which can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, long periods and pelvic pain, among many other symptoms, per Mayo Clinic.

Since then, Nyong'o has been an advocate for women going through the same thing, even launching the Foundation for Women’s Health x Lupita Nyong’o Uterine Fibroid Research Grant.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Nyong'o has previously shared that she know her fibroids would return and she's now revealing what updates doctors have given her about her condition. During an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday (Feb. 23), Nyong'o shared that her fibroids have unfortunately doubled.

“The first time I got the fibroids taken out, they took out 23. And this time, I’ve been informed two years ago that I have over 50," she said, adding that her biggest fibroid is "the size of an orange."

Nyong'o continued, "And I’m being faced with the same options. Surgery or live with the pain. I’m not ready to make that decision."

She noted that the surgery, called a myomectomy, is "quite invasive" and a "big threat to our reproductive organs," so she is hesitating to move forward.

Nyong'o also opened up about her initial diagnosis, sharing that she felt "shame" and believed she must have done something to cause her fibroids. While she "felt very alone and quite scared" for her reproductive health, she says speaking out has been incredibly beneficial.

“I’m excited right now because speaking up has really empowered me,” she explained. “I’ve found community. I’ve locked arms with women who have been fighting this fight for a long time.”

She continued, “There’s a lot of power in speaking up. I spoke up and the amount of support I got hearing women say ‘me too’ and share their stories made me feel less alone and it’s honestly what has bolstered me to do the work that I do now...I think it’s high time we speak up to ensure that this is no longer trivialized and it’s no longer considered normal just because it’s common."

You can hear all that Lupita Nyong'o had to say below.

Who Is Snow Cone on ‘The Masked Singer’? Emotional Fire Clue Shocks Panel

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:21pm

Another week of The Masked Singer means another round of clues that hit a little closer to home. On Spice Girls Night, Snow Cone delivered one of her most emotional performances yet — and the backstory may have been her most personal so far.

RELATED: Meet the Cast Competing on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 14

Who is Snow Cone on ‘The Masked Singer’?

Snow Cone brought high-energy nostalgia to the stage with a spirited performance of “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls. The vocals were bright and playful, but the clue package that followed struck a far more serious tone.

If this week proved anything, it’s that Snow Cone’s story goes deeper than pop hooks and glitter.

RELATED: ‘Masked Singer’ Panel’s Dream Cast Includes a Few Truly Wild Ideas (Exclusive)

🔍 New Clues This Week

This week’s package centered around family, loss and resilience:

  • A wintery cabin in the woods.
  • Digging through snow and uncovering golden keys.
  • Drawing a heart in frosted glass.
  • “Together we built a home where our kids could grow up surrounded by love and laughter.”
  • The cabin suddenly burned down.
  • “We lost everything—photos, favorite toys… this is the home my kids came home to from the hospital.”
  • A three-tier wedding cake reading “To New Beginnings.”
  • “Resilience can be its own kind of healing.”

The emotional tone was unmistakable: this is someone who experienced a very public personal loss—and rebuilt from it.

🎤 What the Panel Is Saying

Guest judge Taraji P. Henson (who was unmasked as Scarab earlier this season) admitted she was struggling, saying, “This one is hard,” before floating Anna Faris, referencing fire-related loss and her role in The House Bunny.

Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg connected a spider-shaped brooch clue to “Spidey,” referencing Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's portmanteau celebrity couple name. She doubled down on Montag, pointing to a home lost in the California fires, a Hills reboot and themes of resilience.

Robin Thicke said the clues led him to Leighton Meester, though he didn’t fully break down the connection, other than her husband Adam Brody played a superhero in Shazam.

The panel appears to believe Snow Cone is someone who has endured a highly public life event and come out stronger.

Harry Styles Reveals the Unusual Thing He Does When He Can't Sleep — It Involves Mike Tyson

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:18pm

Singer Harry Styles is opening up about his unusual bedtime habit.

During a February 2025 appearance on Royal Court, hosted by comedian and internet personality Brittany Broski, Styles was asked if he's a fan of anything niche. He replied that he'll watch retired boxer Mike Tyson's past fights, which he described as "amazing," if he can't sleep.

"Something that is always like there for me that isn't necessarily constant, but it's something that I come back to a lot, if I, like, can't sleep, sometimes I'll watch Mike Tyson's 10 greatest knockouts on YouTube," said Styles during the interview.

He also said that he'll watch episodes of the '00s reality series, Supernanny, starring nanny Jo Frost.

"I watch, you know, like 'Worst Ever Behaved Kid.' And then I'm like, 'Okay, I'm ready to go back to sleep,'" said Styles.

Harry Styles Shared His Thoughts About His Dedicated Fanbase

In the Royal Court interview, Styles, who was propelled into stardom after appearing on The X-Factor and joining One Direction in 2010, shared his thoughts about his fans. Styles said he appreciates his fans' honesty.

"They will say, 'We love this.' And if they don't like it, say, 'We don't like it.' There's no like posturing with them, you know?" said Styles, who has three solo albums, Harry Styles (2017), Fine Line (2019), and Harry's House (2022).

He explained that he always takes his fans' opinions into account when it comes to his career.

"I think a lot of the time their opinion can be kind of cast aside as like, 'Oh, it's like hysteria and they don't really get it or something. Or like I think their taste can be questioned based on the fact that they wear their heart on their sleeve,'" said Styles in the interview. "I think the truth is they're the most honest. So I think for me it's like about remaining honest in my response to that."

Styles' upcoming album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, is set to be released on March 6.

9 Unique Traits of Adults Who Were Shamed as Kids, According to Child Psychologists

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 7:10pm

There’s a lot about childhood that many of us adults miss, am I right? Not working, going on fun adventures, living rent-free, not having to file taxes—you get the gist. At the same time, childhood isn’t always rosy, especially for every kid. Some children may be made to feel like they're “too much,” for example, or even have disordered eating patterns. Those examples barely scratch the surface.

One tough experience that’s important to discuss—especially since it can affect kids into their adult years—is feeling shame or being shamed. But what is shame, exactly? Well, whereas guilt is “I did a bad thing,” shame is “I am bad.” It makes a person feel like they are “wrong” or inadequate at their core. It’s something that we can inflict on ourselves, and it’s an emotion that other people’s words and actions can contribute to.

What can those shaming experiences entail, and how do they affect a child? How does that show up when they're adults? And, if you are the person who was shamed as a child, how can you cope? Parade reached out to child psychologists to answer those questions. In addition, they tell us nine unique traits of adults who were shamed as kids.

Common Causes of Shame in Childhood

First things first, know we aren’t victim-blaming here—in fact, the opposite. When children are shamed, it often has to do with how parents and guardians neglected or harmed them.

For example, the child may have been made to feel “unacceptable” or “unworthy.” This happens on a macro level, too; for example, a Black child may feel shame as a result of racism. Children may feel “wrong,” unseen or dismissed, too, according to Dr. Jennifer Rolnick, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist for children and the co-owner of Watch Hill Therapy, who specializes in working with survivors of childhood trauma, abuse and neglect.

“When a child’s emotions, needs or mistakes are met with criticism instead of connection, that shame seed gets planted,” explains Dr. Deborah Gilman, PhD, a clinical psychologist and the owner of Fox Chapel Psychological Services, who specializes in kids, parenting, relationships and the psychology behind modern culture. Conditional love, public humiliation, saying a child is “overreacting,” calling them “bad” and employing the silent treatment are all ways that can occur.

Children may also blame themselves because it feels easier and safer.

“Shame is an adaptive response that children use or internalize in order to maintain attachment to their caregivers,” she continues. “Meaning, it is ‘safer’ for a child to feel they are ‘bad’ than to believe the people in charge of their safety and well-being are ‘bad.’”

This isn’t to say that those caregivers are necessarily “bad.” Shaming behaviors—which also include ignoring, eye-rolls and invalidating statements—can stem from a parent’s stress.

“Many times, the parents/guardians are not able to regulate their own stress about whatever they're dealing with, and that can be displaced onto children,” says Dr. Natalie K. Anderson, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with children and adolescents. “Even very loving parents can inadvertently express disapproval about anything related to their child’s appearance, choices [or] personality traits.”

How Does Shame Affect Children?

Shame has real, harmful effects on children.

“Shame is extremely damaging to self-esteem,” Dr. Rolnick says, noting it’s linked to depression, anxiety, self-harm, being withdrawn, perfectionism, hiding emotions and being unusually compliant. And that lasts, too.

“We don’t talk enough about how shame doesn’t magically disappear once you get a job, a lease and an air fryer,” Dr. Gilman states. “It grows up with you, like emotional malware running quietly in the background, shaping your decisions, relationships and self-worth.”

For example, adults may be reluctant to try new things, share their ideas or ask for help, afraid people will respond negatively.

“The child may start acting in accordance with this negative [view] about themselves,” Dr. Anderson explains.

How To Tell if Someone Was Shamed as a Kid

Let’s be clear: Not every adult who was shamed as a child looks and acts the same.

“There is no single way to tell if someone was shamed as a kid, because the following signs could also be attributed to other factors,” Dr. Anderson shares.

With that said, some common signs she’s seen include avoidance despite craving close relationships, shutting down and having intense reactions to triggers.

Dr. Gilman adds hyperfunctionality, inner fragility, feeling worthless after making mistakes, struggling to say no or disappoint others and hypervigilance in relationships. To be clear, that can be the case for people who seem calm or “low maintenance” on the outside, too.

“Shame doesn’t always scream; sometimes it just over-performs,” she states.

As mentioned, the effects can be long-lasting. According to Dr. Rolnick, you may see these adults apologize reflexively, struggle to accept compliments and judge themselves harshly. And no wonder—they’re feeling, and/or trying to avoid, feelings of shame.

9 Traits of Adults Who Were Shamed as Kids, According to Child Psychologists

Child psychologists share more about the specific traits they see in adults who were shamed as kids.

1. They have a never-ending inner critic

Again, adults who were shamed as kids are hard on themselves and expect only the best.

“The voice likely started as an external one, from critical or dismissive adults, that ended up being internalized,” Dr. Rolnick says.

They feel the need to “beat someone to the punch” by criticizing themselves first, essentially, so it hurts less.

2. They're people-pleasers who shrink their needs

When kids were shamed, they learned that having emotions caused problems. As a result, they may push their feelings down and do whatever is necessary to keep people happy.

“It reflects how, as an adult, you might have become skilled at keeping the peace, often at the cost of your true self,” Dr. Rolnick shares.

3. They struggle to trust closeness

For some people, relational intimacy or having a close friend is a comfort. For an adult who was shamed as a kid, it may not be so simple.

“If being vulnerable was met with contempt, teasing or neglect, you might have learned as a child that being known is dangerous,” Dr. Rolnick explains. “Later in life, that can look like keeping partners at arm’s length, expecting rejection or feeling panicky when someone gets emotionally close.”

Related: What Is Fearful-Avoidant Attachment? Here Are the Sneaky Signs and Patterns To Look for in Your Relationships

4. They are perfectionists and overachievers

Adults who feel they need to achieve something constantly may have been shamed about their performance in the past, which can be a hit to self-worth. Their overachieving nature helps them cope with those feelings.

“Worth has become something you get in return for something you do (‘I am valued when I excel’),” Dr. Rolnick explains. “It became a way to earn safety or to be seen.”

5. They're hypervigilant, and that shows up as emotional intelligence

These adults are often hyperattuned to how others feel about them (especially negatively).

“You read the room like a survival tactic, scanning for tone shifts, sighs or danger,” Dr. Gilman shares.

For example, you may notice when someone is irritated or stressed, perhaps even before they do.

Related: People Who Constantly Overshare Develop These 6 (Surprisingly) Positive Traits

6. They apologize constantly

Do you say sorry when someone else bumps into you? Or apologize when you ask for help? If so, you may have been shamed as a kid. You may feel that you’re always a problem and in the wrong.

“You’ve internalized the belief that your needs are inconvenient,” Dr. Gilman says.

7. They fear being ‘seen’

Attention may feel uncomfortable. Growing up feeling like a problem, these adults might feel self-conscious, which is exacerbated when they're “seen” by others.

Authenticity feels like exposure,” Dr. Gilman explains. “Vulnerability feels like a set-up. You keep people at arm’s length while secretly craving connection.”

Related: People Who Moved at Least Once During Childhood Usually Develop These 10 Traits as Adults, Psychologists Say

8. They seem shy and private

Do you have a friend who doesn’t talk much or share a ton about their life? They may have been shamed as a child.

“[That shame can] lead someone to lie or otherwise hide details about themselves and their lives in an effort to present only their perceived non-shameful qualities, activities [and] choices,” Dr. Anderson states.

9. They can be emotionally reactive

These adults can be quiet people-pleasers, but they can be emotionally reactive, too (and understandably so).

“Because of how painful shame is, if someone who was shamed is unable to avoid or unexpectedly faces rejection of some kind, they may react with a highly emotional (often angry or sad) outburst that may seem surprising to others who don’t know that person’s negative internal narrative and experiences,” Dr. Anderson shares.

How To Heal Shame That Came From Past Childhood Trauma

Since shame is relational, it requires relational healing. It’s about compassion, both from the self and from others. It’s about forming safe, consistent relationships.

“The antidote to shame is to lean into the vulnerability by sharing and opening up about difficult feelings and experiences instead of hiding,” Dr. Anderson shares. This could be with a friend, family member, religious leader or therapist.

That’s easier said than done, however.

“The challenge becomes that ‘safe and consistent’ relationships don’t feel trustworthy because someone never had experiences with healthy relationships,” Dr. Rolnick explains.

But the good news, according to Dr. Gilman, is that you can unlearn it. She encourages practicing radical self-compassion, going to therapy and whispering “I’m allowed to be human” until your nervous system stops rolling its eyes.

Also, Dr. Rolnick recommends seeing a relational therapist, engaging in both attachment trauma-informed therapy and somatic practices. Those steps can help people heal wounds, foster self-compassion and build healthier relationships.

“It is possible to change your negative narrative and start to believe you are, in fact, worthy and good enough,” Dr. Anderson adds.

Remember, you aren’t a problem to be solved.

“You weren’t ‘too sensitive,’” Dr. Gilman says. “You were adapting to survive.”

Who Is Pugcasso on ‘The Masked Singer’?

Pugcasso delivered a heartfelt performance of “Too Much” by the Spice Girls, trading playful energy for something far more introspective.

His voice felt raw and vulnerable, showcasing a polished singer with serious live-stage experience. If there were doubts before about whether Pugcasso is a stadium-level performer, this week’s clue package may have erased them.

🔍 New Clues This Week

This week’s package centered around loneliness, rejection and massive international fame:

  • A beer tap filling a dog bowl, with up-and-down arrows on the handle.
  • “Call me Jealous Spice because there have been many times being alone that have felt mighty lonely.”

  • Extra clue: A casting sheet reading “Name: Pugcasso. Role: Series Lead,” stamped “REJECTED.”
  • “Some people told me that I wasn’t good at music — luckily, they weren’t good at their job either.”

Between the stadium imagery and the rejection storyline, this is clearly someone who has experienced both industry doubt and global-scale success.

🎤 What the Panel Is Saying

Ken Jeong said he’s “vibin’ Pat Monahan of Train,” pointing out that the singer was initially rejected by Columbia Records before breaking through.

Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg focused on the moon clue and guessed Vance Joy, referencing his breakout hit “Riptide.”

Rita Ora suggested Charlie Puth, noting his early career struggles and independent online performances.

Guest panelist Taraji P. Henson (who was unmasked as Scarab earlier in the season) admitted she was stumped, telling Pugcasso, “Your voice is really beautiful, I really hate that I have not a clue.”

The panel seems aligned on one thing: Pugcasso is an established recording artist, but the stadium clue suggests someone with massive international pull.

Who Is Crane on ‘The Masked Singer’? Mel B Clue Sends Panel in New Direction

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 6:59pm

A new season of The Masked Singer means another week of cryptic clues, bold performances and panelists throwing out wildly confident guesses. With season 14 rolling into its Spice Girls Night celebration, one contestant may have just delivered her most revealing performance yet.

Who is Crane on ‘The Masked Singer’?

Crane strutted into Spice Girls Night with a confident, nostalgic performance of “Say You’ll Be There” by the Spice Girls—and vocally, she sounded completely at home.

The performance leaned into girl-group confidence and polished stage presence, reinforcing the idea that Crane isn’t just a singer, she’s someone who has lived in the pop spotlight before.

But this week’s biggest clue may not have been musical at all.

🔍 New Clues This Week

This week’s package centered heavily around family, London ties and a very specific “Spice” connection:

  • “I feel lucky to have an actual Spice Girl take me under her wing: Mel B,” while holding a photo of Melanie Brown in front of the London Eye.
  • A red double-decker bus.
  • A football helmet that resembled a New York Giants helmet.
  • “I’ve had an OG spice in my corner before I could even walk: my grandma. Sewing my costumes, making my evening gowns for pageants.”
  • A childhood memory of her grandmother dressing as Tina Turner for Halloween.
  • A vanity filled with makeup.
  • A pocket watch set to 10:10.
  • A yellow construction hat.
  • Extra clue: a model train, with Crane saying, “Not every journey sparkles, but this one was pure gold for my soul.”

Between the London imagery, the football reference and the Soul Train-adjacent hints, the panel had plenty to chew on.

🎤 What the Panel Is Saying

Guest judge Taraji P. Henson (who was unmasked as Scarab earlier this season) guessed Keke Palmer, pointing out that she hosted the 2023 Soul Train Awards.

Ken Jeongconfidently declared this could be Ciara, citing her mentorship connection to Mel B on World of Dance, the football helmet clue referencing husband Russell Wilson—who signed with the New York Giants in 2025—and her multiple Soul Train Awards wins.

Robin Thicke narrowed his focus vocally, saying the tone reminded him of either Ashanti or Mya, ultimately leaning toward Mya.

The Mel B clue clearly shifted the panel’s direction, but whether that connection is professional or personal remains to be seen.

'Saturday Night Fever’ Icon Recreates Classic Disco Moment

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 6:47pm

A Saturday Night Fever Icon recreated a classic disco moment almost five decades after the film's release in theaters.

Fans quickly embraced the throwback performance, applauding the star’s ability to channel the same swagger that made the original film unforgettable. The recreation blended humor, nostalgia, and timeless style, showing that some moves truly never go out of fashion.

Fran Drescher played Connie, the woman who coerced John Travolta out on the dance floor by asking him a sultry question. She revisited the unforgettable scene alongside William DeMeo of the Amazon Video series, Gravesend.

In the original 1977 film, Drescher asks Travolta's Tony Manero, "Are you as good in bed as you are on that dance floor?" Then the two move to the center of the 2001 Odyssey dance floor, but not before Drescher grabs his behind.

Drescher and DeMeo recreated the scene's key moment. In a clip posted to Instagram, she said, "I love this dance floor. It reminds me of Saturday Night Fever."

DeMeo repeated Drescher's iconic film line back to her, causing her to laugh. She responded, "That's my favorite line in the movie!"

In the former Nanny star's 1996 autobiography, Enter Whining, she discussed filming the scene and the wild story that went along with it. Saturday Night Fever was Drescher's first speaking part in a movie, and her father, Morty Drescher, made the most of his celebrity connection.

RELATED: ‘Saturday Night Fever’ Actor Dead at 86, Remembered for Scene-Stealing Role

Drescher wrote, "My dad, who at the time, was working in Brooklyn, came by on his lunch break to see my scene. The security guard quickly told him it was a closed set. When my dad informed the guard that he was the star's father (mind you, I had five lines), the guard quickly opened the gate and said, 'Right this way, Mr. Travolta.'"

Drescher added that Travolta reportedly didn't want to film her scene that day, she wrote he was "down and depressed. I marched my way over to John to try and salvage what was fast becoming a disaster, MINE!"

She told the actor, "Ya know, John, maybe I shouldn't be saying this but you're a trouper. Whatever happened to 'let's go on with the show?' So what if you're tired? So what if you're run down? Maybe they will have to check you into a hospital for exhaustion in the end, but right now I expect you to act like the star that you are and finish the scene and then we can all go home!"

Apparently, that tactic worked because Drescher and Travolta were able to complete the now-iconic scene, where she ad-libbed grabbing his "tushy."

Saturday Night Fever would gross over $237M worldwide per Box Office Mojo. The film helped ignite the disco boom, blending music, dance, and drama into a defining cinematic moment. The film’s influence stretched far beyond theaters and shaped both style and sound for years to come.

1970 Hit Ranked as a ‘Greatest Song of All Time’ Was Inducted Into the Grammy Hall of Fame 28 Years Ago Today

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 6:42pm

28 years ago today, on Feb. 25, 1998, Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter” became her first song inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The late country queen’s official Instagram page celebrated the historic achievement with a promo image of her and the caption: “On this day in 1998, the song Coal Miner’s Daughter was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame! It received this recognition because of its enduring historical significance. What an honor!”

View this post on Instagram Loretta Lynn Self-Penned the Hit

Released on Oct. 5, 1970, one year after its recording, and solely penned by Lynn, “Coal Miner’s Daughter” has been included on the country music icon’s album of the same name. The song lyrics recount the beloved singer/songwriter's backstory, as she reflects on her childhood in Butcher Holler, Kentucky, during the Great Depression as the daughter of a coal miner, who worked tirelessly to support the family.

Well, I was born a coal miner's daughter / In a cabin, on a hill in Butcher Holler / We were poor but we had love / That's the one thing that daddy made sure of / He shoveled coal to make a poor man's dollar,” Lynn wholeheartedly sings throughout the first verse of the song.

Despite growing up in deep poverty, Lynn later sings of her admiration for her parents’ resilience and expresses profound pride in being the daughter of a coal miner, who also grew corn.

Yeah, I'm proud to be a coal miner's daughter / I remember well, the well where I drew water / The work we done was hard / At night we'd sleep 'cause we were tired / Never thought of ever leaving Butcher Holler,” she sings proudly.

She Previously Shared the Story Behind the Song

Of writing the lyrics to what has been widely regarded as her signature song, Lynn previously told Blue Railroad, per WhiskeyRiff, “I wrote it on a little $17 guitar. It didn’t stay in tune. And $17 was a lot of money, ‘cause at the time, we didn’t have any money. But then Gibson gave me a guitar, and I wrote all the others on that one.”

“Every word is true,” she continued. “My daddy would work all night in the coal mine. During the day, he would work in the cornfields. There were ten of us. He had to make a living for us….”

The Song Has Become One of Her Biggest and Most Timeless of Her Career

Though Lynn has had several hits to her name, the country classic has brought her incredible success outside of her Grammy Hall of Fame induction. The track gave Lynn a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart and appeared on Billboard’s Hot 100 all-genre chart for the first time.

The track also made the Recording Industry Association of America’s Song of the Century list in 2001. On top of that, the song was ranked at No. 42 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Country Songs of all Time list and No. 255 on the outlet’s Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list.

Among other accomplishments, “Coal Miner’s Daughter” became the title of Lynn’s bestselling 1976 memoir Coal Miner's Daughterand drew inspiration for a 1980 biographical musical film of the same title, depicting Lynn’s life, and starring Sissy Spacek. Coal Miner’s Daughter, the film, went on to win an Academy Award and two Golden Globes.

'Call Her Daddy' Co-Creator to Release 'Unflinching' Memoir About Podcast Fallout

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 6:37pm

Call Her Daddy remains ever-popular in the podcast realm, with recent guests including Hilary Duff amid her pop-star comeback.

Alex Cooper hosts the series, though fans will recall it was founded by Sofia Franklyn as well. And if they ever wanted to hear what happened between the two from the former co-host's perspective, fret not because Franklyn has a new book coming.

On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Simon & Schuster announced it will publish Daddy Issues, an "unflinching" memoir from the Call Her Daddy co-founder and current host of Sofia with an F. The publisher describes it as "an explosive story of power, friendship, reclamation, and surviving yourself," which will hit the shelves on Nov. 10.

"For so long I wished my story wasn’t mine. But it is and I now see the power in that," Franklyn wrote in the caption of her Instagram post on Wednesday in celebrating her book's upcoming release. "This memoir is about the life that made me before anyone knew my name, and I’m doing it in ink."

View this post on Instagram

Fans took to the comments section of Franklyn's post to show their support for her new project. "Super excited to finally hear your side!!" wrote one Instagram user, while another person commented, "The way I pre ordered so fast - hope you are so unbelievably proud of yourself😭😭❤️❤️❤️."

Call Her Daddy became a phenomenon overnight, evolving into a cultural force and transforming its hosts into avatars of a moment and then into targets, Simon & Schuster noted in its Wednesday press release. But at the height of the show’s early success, the relationship between Franklyn and Cooper, 31, seemed to implode.

"My story has only been told for me. And if you asked me to write this book five years ago you would have gotten a different story—fearful, vengeful, insecure, wounded with something to prove," Franklyn said in a statement, per the publisher. "I couldn’t live truthfully until I told it in my own words, on my own terms, and in the most radically honest way I know how."

Savannah Guthrie's Mom Nancy Suspects: What Investigators Have Said

Wed, 02/25/2026 - 6:37pm

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing after she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home — and investigators, including Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, have released several statements about potential suspects. Most recently, Nanos sent a bold message about Dominic Evans, Nancy's son-in-law's former bandmate.

Let's take a closer look at what law enforcement has said on the topic of suspects in the 84-year-old's case.

The Guthrie Family Has Been Cleared as Suspects in Nancy's Missing Case

On Feb. 16, Nanos officially cleared all members of the Guthrie family as suspects in Nancy's case.

“To be clear…the Guthrie family—to include all siblings and spouses—has been cleared as possible suspects in this case," Nanos said, per ABC News. "The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case."

He added, "The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple."

Nancy's family members include Savannah; Savannah's husband, Michael Feldman; Savannah's siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie; and Annie's husband, Tommaso Cioni.

Not long after Nancy went missing, former NewsNation journalist Ashleigh Banfieldalleged that Cioni "may be the prime suspect." Evans, 48, used to be in a band with Cioni. Although Evans did speak with investigators following Nancy's disappearance, online speculation about his involvement spilled over into real-life harassment, he told The New York Times.

Nanos has since spoken out about Evans' situation, telling the Times, “He’s going through hell and it is horrible. And I don’t know what to tell him except he probably should be speaking with some attorneys and sue some of these people for libel.”

FBI Director Kash Patel Released Photos & Video of a Potential Suspect

On Feb. 10, FBI Director Kash Patel released images and video footage from a doorbell camera on Nancy's porch of a potential suspect. They showed a masked man with gloves and a backpack; so far, the individual has not been identified.

Another Individual Was Detained & Questioned by Investigators

On Feb. 10, a man named Carlos Palazuelos was detained and questioned in Rio Rico, Ariz. FBI’s Evidence Response Team also conducted a court-authorized search on a residence in Rio Rico. Ultimately, Palazuelos was released.

“They held me against my will,” Palazuelos told reporters of the incident. “They didn’t even read me my rights until two hours later.” He also showed his wrists, which he claimed were “swollen” from the handcuffs.

Nanos told Fox News on Feb. 11 that there would likely be more detainments as the investigation continued. He also said they had more information leading to Palazuelos' detainment than just a tip but did not elaborate.
