Talk Show Host Sally Jesse Raphael, 91, Sports Bright Red Hair on Her Birthday While Savoring Dessert

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:45pm

Sally Jesse Raphael may change up her hair color, but those iconic red glasses always stay the same.

The legendary talk show host, 91, who is known for her memorable daytime talk show Sally, had a lengthy career in journalism before she even stepped foot on her own chat show set. While Sally concluded in 2002, Raphael is savoring her retirement years in style. Gone are the days of the blond updos she frequently sported on TV. Instead, she now has bright red hair, which she frequently shows off on social media.

Raphael, who celebrated her 91st birthday on Wednesday, took to social media this week to thank fans and followers for their positive wishes in honor of her birthday. Pictured enjoying a delicious dessert alongside some French macarons, the chat show queen sported her classic red glasses as she expressed her gratitude.

"Thank you soooo much for the tremendous outpouring of birthday love from all of you yesterday! It means so much to me. I had a wonderful day with family & friends. Here I am, enjoying a fabulous dessert at lunch… and there was a meal somewhere in there too," she shared, completing her statement with the classic hashtag "red glasses."

Living it Up in Retirement

As she should be, Raphael is living the good life in retirement. If you follow the red-headed queen on social media, you may catch her doing everything from hitting the high seas to savoring a good meal. Raphael headed to New England this past summer, where she enjoyed everything from plates full of oysters to historic inns in New Hampshire. A popular gallery in Maine, Thomaston Place Auction Galleries, even hosted a summer auction with nearly 200 items from Raphael’s personal collection, WMTV reported.

Raphael Was One of the First Working Moms in Journalism

In the early days of working in journalism, being a working mother was a rarity. Raphael was officially breaking barriers!

“Well, there weren’t many of us,” Raphael told PEOPLE. “Most women in the 50s were stay-at-home moms. And so a working woman was either single or interesting. It was difficult. It was an all-male world.”

If you're looking for a flashback to classic Sally episodes, many of them are available on YouTube!

7 Key Traits of Parents Who Raise Kids With Healthy Boundaries

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:40pm

Boundaries: It’s a buzzword, it’s a sometimes-scary word, it’s an important word. Maybe you heard a friend talk about how she had to establish perimeters with her ex when he kept texting her. Maybe your therapist is encouraging you to set boundaries with a coworker who always takes the praise for your work. Perhaps you’re experiencing work burnout and need to have a conversation with your boss about your hours. Maybe you’ve gone on a date with someone who was a little too handsy. These examples only scratch the surface.

Additionally, it’s vital not only to set personal limits but also to uphold them. That’s easier said than done, however, and enforcing boundaries with a narcissistic person can be even tougher, for example.

Needless to say, while it’s easy for us adults to people-please rather than set limits, most of us know why boundaries are so important. But do situations that call for establishing limits apply to kids? According to child psychologists, absolutely. They need to learn those skills for now—for their safety and development—and for when they're older.

Ahead, child psychologists specify why parents need to teach their children about boundaries, seven traits of parents who do this successfully and other tips for teaching the concept to kids.

Why Is It So Important To Teach Your Children About Boundaries?

Catherine Falls Commercial/Getty Images

First, let’s correct a common misconception by saying this: Boundaries don’t push people away. Rather, they're a way to keep people close, and they're integral to healthy relationships.

“Children need to learn healthy boundaries in order to form strong, positive relationships with their peers, teachers, family members and other people in their lives,” says Dr. Amy Dykstra, MEd, a registered psychologist in Calgary, Alberta with a master's degree in school and child psychology, as well as the clinic owner at Bluebird Psychology who offers support to children, teens and adults. “Boundaries provide healthy structure for navigating the world, whether that’s understanding the boundaries with our own or others’ bodies, emotional boundaries, relationship boundaries, etc.”

For example, they may not feel comfortable hugging certain family members, and they need to know it’s OK to say that. Or they may need some time to cool down after a fight with their sibling, and you can teach them how to communicate that in a kind, effective way.

What’s especially interesting is that personal perimeters are important on a physiological level, too, helping our bodies relax.

“Here’s something many parents don’t realize: Your child’s nervous system is wired to need structure and predictability in order to feel safe,” says Dr. Carrie Mackensen, PhD, a psychologist with a doctorate in individual, family and child psychology and over 25 years of experience studying child development and relationships. “Think of your boundaries like the railings on a bridge over a canyon: Without them, your child is in survival mode, focused on not falling rather than freely exploring, learning and connecting.”

Boundaries are a needed form of confidentleadership from parents, giving children feelings of security that allow them to be their authentic selves.

Last but not least—and as we’ll get into more below—personal limits are important for kids because they teach emotion regulation skills.

“When you hold firm during their protests, you’re literally wiring their brain for emotional regulation and frustration tolerance,” Dr. Mackensen says. “This enables them not only to respect your boundaries but to set healthy boundaries for themselves and in their relationships with others.”

Think about it: You say “no” to a toy or activity, they get upset, then they have to regulate themselves to cope. Plus, they learn how (and that it’s OK) to say no.

7 Traits of Parents Who Raise Kids With Healthy Boundaries, According to Child Psychologists

Parents who help their children learn about boundaries might have the following seven traits, child psychologists say.

1. They're emotionally open, modeling healthy emotional coping skills

As a parent, you may think you have to hide your feelings from your kids to protect them. While admirable and understandable, that doesn’t necessarily have the effect you may think. Kids, as social learners, need to see their parents experience, name and healthily handle emotions—even, and especially, the hard ones.

“For example, if they are angry, they know how to demonstrate that anger in a productive way,” Dr. Dykstra says. “For example, saying, ‘I need a moment to cool down,’ rather than resorting to yelling or maybe saying mean things.”

2. They have patience

Teaching kids how to handle emotions and set boundaries takes work. They're still learning emotional regulation and appropriate social skills, and they don’t always know how to name their feelings. This requires parents to practice patience.

“Parents who are successfully teaching their kids about boundaries require patience because it’s going to take a lot of time and practice for children to be able to learn and effectively implement boundaries,” Dr. Dykstra shares.

3. They're willing to take time for thorough conversations

Boundaries can be a complicated topic for anyone, let alone a child. Teaching them requires parents to have ongoing and sometimes lengthy discussions.

“They allow their kids the opportunity to voice their questions, concerns, thoughts and feelings, and they take their children seriously, allowing for debate, differing opinions and productive argument,” Dr. Dykstra explains.

That’s how kids learn.

4. They can balance consistency and flexibility

Boundaries must be upheld—not just set—for the best results. But again, that’s easier said than done, so it’s important to have grace for children (and adults) as they work on that.

"Boundaries can help children know what to expect and what is expected of them,” Dr. Dykstra says. “But as children age, or situations change, parents who are successful with teaching their children boundaries know when to go back and revise initial rules, make accommodations or allow for one-off situations.”

Related: 10 Traits of Parents Who Raise Emotionally Resilient Kids, According to Psychologists

5. They combine warmth with firm leadership

As you might notice, balance is key here—not just with consistency and flexibility, but with warmth and firm leadership, too.

“Successful boundary-setters understand that warmth and authority aren’t opposing forces; rather, children need both,” Dr. Mackensen shares.

That balance illustrates authoritative parenting, which, according to research, is the best parenting style.

“These parents are both the emotional safe haven their child turns to when hurt or scared and the protective authority who makes difficult decisions their child can’t yet make for themselves,” she adds. “They’ve rejected the false cultural message that loving your child means never saying ‘no’ or making them feel upset or uncomfortable.”

6. They stay calm and value-driven during their child’s storms

Parents who teach their kids about boundaries can stay grounded when the child doesn’t like the boundary.

“They understand that their child’s protests aren’t proof the boundary is wrong; they're a test of whether the parent is strong enough to hold firm and keep them safe (physically, emotionally, mentally),” Dr. Mackensen shares. “Your child’s nervous system actually calms down when you hold your boundaries steady and firm.”

One thing that helps parents stay calm and that guides their decisions is their identification of their family’s core values.

“They ask themselves, ‘What kind of adult do I want to raise? Does this decision serve short-term comfort or long-term thriving?'" she explains. “This clarity gives them confidence even when things get messy.”

7. They see themselves as protectors, not punishers

These parents know that boundaries and saying “no” don’t make you a “mean” parent, but a protective one. Dr. Mackensen gives the example of grabbing a child who’s about to run into the street and feeling confident in that, even if the child protests.

“They apply this same protective instinct to other situations where their child wants something that isn’t good for them,” she notes. “They know that setting and holding boundaries are among the most loving actions they can do for their child.”

How To Teach Your Children About Boundaries

The first step in teaching children about personal limits is identifying your fears, not theirs. Teaching a child about boundaries isn’t challenging only for the child, but the parent, too—and that’s understandable and normal. It doesn’t mean you aren’t a great parent (or teacher or leader).

“I’ve worked with CEOs who lead companies with clarity and confidence, but feel defeated by their seven-year-old,” Dr. Mackensen shares.

She imagines the fear underneath is about your child not liking or feeling as connected to you, and she has some comfort to offer.

“Recognize that the fear of losing connection by setting limits actually erodes connection over time,” she continues. “When you lead with confident authority and emotional warmth, you’re building the kind of bond with your child that’s built on trust. This is a bond that endures, it’s stronger and it lasts the test of time.”

Next, teach by showing.

“Children learn so much by seeing others model appropriate behavior,” Dr. Dykstra says. “The best way to teach your child about boundaries is to model boundaries yourself.”

These can center around your time, bodily autonomy, energy or something else. You might need to use a boundary-setting phrase with a family member.

Having open discussions about what boundaries are and allowing your child to get curious can help, too. Dr. Mackensen recommends being prepared for their potential questions to build your confidence.

“Remember, short-term difficulty leads to long-term thriving,” she concludes. “The discomfort your child experiences from having limits is temporary. The skills they develop—delayed gratification, emotional regulation and respect for structure—those last a lifetime.”

Hit Novel Behind 2025’s Steamiest Thriller Is Now Free on Amazon

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:35pm

Locked away in every seemingly perfect home is a closetful of secrets and skeletons. In Nina Winchester’s ritzy, gated abode out on Long Island, that’s a crawl space with a sordid history too dark to reveal here.

The wealthy, perfectly manicured homeowner in Freida McFadden’s Housemaid series, Nina seeks help running her household, designed from top to bottom by her romance-cover husband, Andrew. So, she hires Millie, a young woman with a past she’d rather, well, leave in the past, as her live-in "housemaid." Before long, the triangle between the three gets erotic, erratic, and then downright shocking.

View this post on Instagram

Last December, McFadden’s international bestseller was given the big-screen treatment with a gripping thriller starring Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) as Millie, Amanda Seyfriend (The Testament of Ann Lee) taking on Nina, and Brandon Sklenar (1923) doing his best Andrew. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, A Simple Favor) directed with McFadden and Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, Archive 81) providing the script.

Following a ton of box-office success, a sequel was announced. Back in January, Variety reported on the greenlit project, with Feig returning to direct. Based on McFadden’s same-name second novel in the series, The Handmaid’s Secret has been in development for months and hopes to begin filming in late 2026.

If we are to assume Lionsgate will stay loyal to the series, we might be in for a movie trilogy, as McFadden’s series spans three books, the last being The Housemaid Is Watching. And lucky for all of us, all three books in the hit series are free right now in Kindle Editions on Amazon.

Wanna watch the moviet? It's now available to rent on Apple TV.

As for McFadden, she just released Dear Debbie and is awaiting the release of The Divorce in May.

Who is Lexie Carver on 'Days of Our Lives' ?

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:33pm

With speculation growing among fans about the identity of the person inside E.J. DiMera’s mysterious pod on Days of Our Lives, some viewers believe it could be his late sister Lexie Carver. For those who may not remember the character, here’s a look back at Lexie’s history in Salem.

Lexie Brooks originally played by Cyndi James Gossett, debuted in 1987 as a police officer with the Salem Police Department. She worked closely with her partner Abe Carver (James Reynolds), and the two eventually fell in love. Their marriage took place off-screen in 1991.

The role was recast in 1993, when Renée Jones assumed the part, becoming the actress most closely associated with Lexie. During this time, the character pursued a new career path, enrolling in medical school and eventually becoming a doctor.

One of Lexie’s major early storylines focused on the identity of her biological parents. After the arrival of her supposed Aunt Frankie, Lexie eventually learned that “Frankie” was actually Celeste Perrault (Tanya Boyd), and that her biological parents were Celeste and Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo).

Over the years, Lexie rose through the ranks at University Hospital and ultimately became Chief of Staff. In 2003, she and Abe welcomed their son Theo Carver.

In 2007, Lexie was kidnapped by her half-brother Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) after claiming she witnessed her other half-brother E.J. DiMera (then James Scott, now Dan Feuerriegel) shoot John Black (Drake Hogeystyn). In reality Tek Kramer (Rhasaan Orange) was the true witness, but Lexie initially lied to avoid revealing her relationship with him to Abe.

Lexie was eventually rescued from the DiMera tunnels by Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso).

In 2012, Jones decided to leave the soap. In an interview with TV Guide’s Michael Logan, she explained that she no longer found joy in acting, saying, “I just don't want to do this anymore. I was raised on a farm in Georgia and I want to get back to that silence, that solitude. I want to spend all day enjoying nature, experiencing God. Every so often production at Days will go dark for a couple of weeks and I feel relived.”

As a result, Lexie was written off the show with an inoperable brain tumor. The illness was said to have been caused by toxic fumes she was exposed to while trapped in the DiMera tunnels by Andre.

Lexie died on June 28, 2012, in Abe’s arms.

When asked whether Lexie could ever return, Jones told Logan the writers assured her the ending would be permanent. “They said ’We will do something that guarantees it.’ And they did. I can't tell you what it is, but it is definitely the end for Lexie,” she teased.

So why do some fans believe Lexie could be connected to E.J.’s current storyline?

In 2025, Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Diaz) at Salem University Hospital began developing a medication called Versavix, which was designed to treat severe cases of sepsis.

Around the same time, Salem University Hospital faced financial trouble. E.J. purchased the hospital, giving him control over its research.

In November 2025, the Dr. Tom Horton Memorial Free Clinic was revealed to include a secret laboratory where Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) was conducting experiments on an unknown patient inside a glowing pod.

At the same time, Salem University Hospital was having dire financial difficulties, thus seeing an opportunity to gain control of the medication, E.J. DiMera purchased the hospital.

Later, E.J., and other members of the DiMera family were kidnapped by Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier), during which Theo was injured.

After escaping, E.J. visited the pod and apologized for failing to protect Theo.

With spoilers indicating that E.J. uses the pod patients identity as leverage against Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), fans have speculated about a possible connection between Theo, Paulina, EJ, and Abe, leading many to believe Lexie could be involved.

Whether Lexie is alive or not is to be determined, and viewers will have to stay tuned to find out.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.

Micky Dolenz Mourns the Loss of 'Rare Songwriter' Who 'Showed Up' For Davy Jones

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:26pm

Micky Dolenz is honoring the legacy of Neil Sedaka following the legendary singer-songwriter’s death at age 86.

Dolenz shared a heartfelt tribute on social media alongside a photo of Sedaka, reflecting on both his immense solo success and his lesser-known contributions to The Monkees’catalog, particularly his connection to the late Davy Jones, who died 14 years ago almost the day, February 29, 2012.

View this post on Instagram

“I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Neil Sedaka,” Dolenz wrote.

RELATED: Last Surviving Monkee Opens Up About the Pain of Losing His Bandmates

“Neil was one of those rare songwriters who could do it all. He gave the world so many great hits of his own, and Monkees fans will know his work, too — he co-wrote ‘When Love Comes Knocking at Your Door’ with Carole Bayer Sager, along with a few other songs that found their way into our world. He also wrote ‘Rainy Jane’ for Davy’s solo record.”

Dolenz also recalled a deeply personal moment.

“I'll never forget when he showed up all the way from the East Coast to pay tribute to Davy at his LA-based memorial with a performance of ‘Love Comes Knocking at Your Door,'" wrote Dolenz. "Sending my thoughts to his family, friends, and everyone who loved his music.”

Sedaka, who rose to fame in the early 1960s with No. 1 hits including “Oh! Carol,” “Calendar Girl,” and “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do,” later experienced a major resurgence in the 1970s with songs like “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood.”

RELATED: Micky Dolenz Shares Rare ‘Monkees’ Photos to Mark Show’s 60th Anniversary

While best known for his own chart-topping recordings, Sedaka also made quiet but meaningful contributions to the extended Monkees universe. His songwriting collaboration with Bayer Sager connected him directly to the band’s musical legacy, and his tribute performance at Davy Jones’ memorial left a lasting impression.

Following news of Sedaka’s death, fans flooded Dolenz’s post with tributes of their own.

“He blessed this world with beauty…his legacy is assured,” one person wrote.

“He was so amazing. Fly high, Neil 🕊️,” another added.

“Lucky to have seen him perform live with my mom 💕 a lovely memory.”

“God Bless Neil Sedaka forever, always.”

The cause of Sedaka’s death has been reported elsewhere, and tributes continue to pour in from across the music world.

For Dolenz, however, the loss is personal—another chapter closing in a generation of songwriters who helped define an era.

I Just Attended the 2026 Toy Fair in NYC—Here Are the 4 Trends I'm Most Excited About

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 5:10pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Every year, toy companies gather in New York City to share their upcoming releases in a huge celebration of play: Toy Fair NYC. It’s personally one of my favorite events because I love embracing my inner kid and seeing what toys are going to cause a stir. Plus, as a mom of two, I really appreciate having a giant showcase of almost everything my kids could want.

The Toy Fair isn’t open to the public—it’s only for toy industry professionals, toy buyers for stores, students and press. They are even selective about influencers and don’t allow children. It might seem crazy, but toys are just as serious of a business as anything else (even if it is more fun). Costumed characters roam the halls, a man on stilts juggles Ty Beanie Balls, a giant Pikachu hangs from the ceiling, and with 725 vendor booths to look at, you never know what you will see.

This year, I was able to meet with some of the biggest names in toys, including Mattel, Hasbro, Jazwares, Pokémon and LEGO. Plus, I roamed the convention center a bit to see what was out there. Here are my key takeaways for 2026.

Toy Fair 2026: The 4 Biggest Trends I Noticed

C

1. All things KPop Demon Hunters

KPop Demon Hunters merch is finally here. With the movie being a surprise (to some—not to me!) global hit, manufacturing has finally caught up. There are many people who say it is "too little too late," but I disagree. Look at the staying power of Frozen, which I also saw new toys from, despite it not having a release this year (Mattel’s Disney Frozen Light Up Singing Elsa Doll is coming this spring).

Courtesy Devon Sherer

Fans big and small are still going to show up for the Nerf KPop Demon Hunter weapons, dolls and figures from Mattel, plushies from Jazwares, color pages and activities from Crayola, and even slime from Gui Gui.

@devonsherer

New affordable KPop Demon dolls from @mattel . They have their How it’s done outfits, Joni’s soda pop outfit, golden singing dolls, and premium collection Rumi in her demon hunting outfit that has the bandage from Jinu!! The sculpt of their faces is sooo good. Zoey even has such cute little freckles. And the details are incredible on the outfits. These will be available this fall. Happy to answer questions! #kpdh #kpopdemonhunter #mattel #dolls #newtoys

2. Bag charms

If you didn’t have bag charms at your booth, then what were you even doing showing up to Toy Fair? Everyone was trying to get in on the Labubu craze and produce the next bag accessories that everyone wants. I had to stop collecting them as my pants were starting to get heavy with each one I added to my belt.

Douglas, a company well-known for incredibly soft plushies, are diving into bag charms this year. I also had to check out TikTok-favorite Nommi. She’s like a Labubu but a much sweeter, high-fashion version. (Madonna even was seen popping open a Nommi blind box recently.)

3. Pop culture and nostalgia aimed at adults

There were a lot of nostalgia plays for 80’s and 90’s kids at many booths. As a millennial parent, I understood why, as I prefer to get my daughter a lot of the toys I grew up playing with—though some of these toys were aimed at adult collectors rather than children.

For example: Schitt’s Creek, Ted Lasso and Golden Girls Bumbumz. They are truly adorable but I don’t see kids yearning for a plushie that says “Fold in the cheese.” They are targeting people who want something cute for their desk or home collection.

4. Cozy sensory toys

Clicking, fidget, squishy—toys that calm the mind and distract the senses were everywhere. I know that personally, my kid’s classroom has a whole section dedicated to calm sensory toys to help little ones navigate through big feelings. Toy makers have seemed to expand on creating this for all ages, aiming to help anyone/everyone find their cozy state-of-mind. I see this trend staying popular for a while.

My 4 Favorite Toys That Are Available Now1. The New Tonies Box

I love the Tonies box. Any toy that can entertain my kid, without a screen for longer than 20 minutes is a huge win in my book. The updated Tonies box can now be even more interactive with games through the Tonieplay controller. They have new games coming this year along with Pokémon Tonies and plush Disney characters Tonies.

2. Squish-a-longs

These are cute little Squishmallow figures that have the perfect amount of squish and stiffness to play with. They are greatly expanding their line up of these critters in 2026, but you can get some now. Many sets even come with a way to wear your Squish-a longs as an accessory.

3. Fisher-Price Little People My Mario Mario’s Adventure Playset

Who says kids toys only have to entertain the child? This is a fun, nostalgic set filled with creative nods to the original Mario video games. Little ones will have fun with the bright colors and hidden tunnels and parents can enjoy reminiscing about the joy of beating the Nintendo 64 game. Plus, the "Little People" versions of all the characters are too cute.

4. Pikachu and Poké Ball LEGO set

For Pokémon’s 30th anniversary (feeling old yet?), they are releasing a lot of fun goodies to celebrate. My favorite has got to be the LEGO sets featuring Pikachu, of course, and the Eevee set. I got to see the Pikachu one built in person and it looked perfectly adorable and impressive.

My 4 Favorite Toys Launching Later in 20261. Crayola Adult paint and alcohol markers

As someone who *maybe* got her daughter paint markers I saw on TikTok shop that are mostly for myself, I think this is genius on Crayola’s part—a brand I trust that also isn’t going to break the bank.

They purposely priced them lower than professional grade alcohol markers which is great for those of us who might want to dip our toes into yet another artistic hobby without spending too much.

Ok I’m obsessed with both of these. I almost forgot to take video because I was so busy coloring at the booth. Really excited for these to come out later this year. 2. LEGO SMART brick

The LEGO Group has unveiled LEGO SMART Play, an innovative new technology that brings interactive features to brick builds—without requiring screens or apps. The system uses a tiny SMART Brick with patented responsive technology to create real-time sounds and reactions as kids interact with their builds.

The first wave has Star Wars sets coming to life through lightsaber duels, cantina dancing and droids screaming during spaceship battles.

This is available for pre-order, with shipping beginning on March 1.

3. American Girl Modern Era Dolls

American Girl is introducing six reimagined versions of historic American Girl personalities as part of its “bold” new line of 14.5-inch collector dolls, revamped through a contemporary lens. Yes, that means Felicity, Addy, Molly, Kirsten, Samantha and Josefina—all with new outfits and accessories that are reimagined for today. This is a great way for millennials to introduce their kids to the world of American Girl without having to completely bequeath your pristine Samantha doll.

Preorders are open, and they'll start shipping May 1.

New play offerings from @Play-Doh this year. Loved their Barbie collab last year so I’m glad they are expanding it. The doughnut maker is so cute and thoughtful. Tara Lipinski Says She Nearly Quit ‘The Traitors’ to Save Natalie Anderson: 'That Was the Hardest Part' (Exclusive)

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:54pm

The Traitors Season 4 has arrived! Throughout the season, Mike Bloom will speak with someone from the star-studded cast who was murdered or banished on the iconic Peacock reality series.

Tara Lipinski has made a career out of keeping her balance on the most precarious ice. But it's safe to say she got quite spun around on The Traitors. The gold medalist came into the season in arguably one of the best spots, joined by fellow Olympian and incredibly close friend Johnny Weir. However, the two decided to keep their bond a secret to avoid becoming public enemies number one and two. And so they skated largely under-the-radar for the first half of the game, trying (and struggling) to successfully find Traitors.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Their routine changed, however, once Johnny was targeted as a Traitor due to his close relationship with Candiace Dillard Bassett. Feeling the heat, the two decided to come clean about how close they were, clearing each other as Faithful. With her bestie out of the line of fire, Tara then redirected her suspicions onto Rob Rausch. And for someone who outright said, "I'm so bad at this," it turned out she was right on the money. Waking up and choosing violence, she went to Natalie Anderson with her theories. And, after squabbling over an antidote at the "Black Banquet," the two decided to work together to take the Love Island star down.

Going into the Round Table, it had all the makings of a power shift that made Natalie a Survivor champ. Unfortunately, the ice skater got cold feet. Tara and Johnny chose to back off of targeting Rob, which instead shone a spotlight on Natalie. The Survivor winner was blindsided and incensed, accusing Tara of "taking advantage" of her. Despite the Round Table leaving her emotionally distraught, Tara and Johnny had to keep their eyes on the prize: Swaying Maura Higgins to their side to take out Eric Nam. Going into the vote, Tara was confident she had made a successful pitch, laying the path for them to take down Eric and Rob and secure a win for the Faithful. But, ironically, it was Maura also relenting on a vote that spelled doom for Tara's game. She chose to side with the Traitors, taking down Johnny and Tara in the process. It's only fitting that the "skating twins" left one after the other, representing their hand-in-hand journey in this game.

Now out of the game, Natalie talks with Parade about her reaction to Tara and Johnny turning on her (and where they stand now), her relationship with Rob and how it changed

Related: Everything to Know About The Traitors Season 4

What made you so confident that Maura was on your side going into the final Round Table? And what was your reaction when that turned out not to be the case?
I would say I was 100% confident — naively, clearly. But I had a lot of talks with her, and she was all in. She's like, "Eric's gonna be so surprised that I do this. This is insane." But yes, we got this together, because I told her, "What's most important is Johnny and I get to the end game. And that there's no way I will ever throw in for you. Whatever the situation is. I promise. I've never voted for you. I will never vote for you." And I thought we had it. So I went back to Johnny like, "We just won the game. We have it."

And I was very surprised at the Round Table. I had no idea. Een walking into it, it felt like we were on the same page. And obviously, again, it's a game. But I gave it one more try. I was a little less sure at this point after the Round Table, but I still thought maybe there was a 50/50 shot [at the "Fire of Truth"]. Because she did seem to be on the fence a bit. And with me openly talking about things, it wasn't like, "Oh, just shut down. I'm not going there."

So I really thought when I looked at her, she could see it. Especially since I played the game, obviously crying all the time, and so vulnerable and sort of transparent. I was like, "She's got to know that I'm so serious on this that she's gonna come my way." But the hardest part was walking away. I wasn't upset. I was just knowing what was to come. And I thought, "Oh, this is going to be heartbreaking."

Well, let's talk about how we got to that point. From our perspective, it seemed like the round before, you woke up and talked with Natalie about targeting Rob. But, by the Round Table, you had backed off of doing so. So what prompted you to ultimately choose not to go forward with the plan?
Well, this is an hour show, so you can't put in everything that happens inside the show. That day, I was onto Rob. But I made it clear, and I think there were several lines they put in about how, "I don't think that this was the night we should do it. We should do it tomorrow." I also thought that maybe there was a "Bonnie and Clyde" type moment. Before I really honed in on Eric, we thought possibly it could be Maura. So I was also talking a lot about that that day. And Natalie and I went to Maura, as they showed. And we got nowhere there, obviously.

And then Johnny went to Eric and came back and reported that, "Oh my goodness. There is a huge alliance between Mark, Eric, Maura and Rob to take Natalie out with the Dagger." And so there was no Eric. And then I went to Mark. And they didn't show the whole conversation. But I bluntly asked, "Will you commit? If we do this, will you commit?" And he didn't.

So I personally went to Natalie before the Round Table and told her, "It is a no-go. I am not doing this." Because I didn't want her to be surprised at the Round Table. And so I said, "We don't have the votes. It's three against five." We needed either Mark or we needed Eric, [because] Maura was definitely not going there. And Eric was a Traitor, so he wasn't going to go there. But we needed Mark or Eric at the time. And I said, "Yeah, we don't have the votes." And so everything seemed fine.

So then what was your reaction to everythingthat went down at the Round Table, considering Natalie accused you of "taking advantage" of her?
These Round Tables are so long and intense. So everything was kind of fine at the Round Table in the beginning. I voiced right away, "I'm sitting back." Just because I think, for strategy for Johnny and I, we really were going strong a few Round Tables. We got Stephen wrong, and we knew if we kept doing that, if we weren't going to go for Rob with the numbers, and we kept doing that with someone else, if we went after Maura and she was a Faithful, that would really bring suspicion on us.

So when all of a sudden the heat came for Natalie at the table, I respect her gameplay. It was probably the really smart thing to do of, "Okay, I need to now throw something out here and really distract this intention." And so, for me, I was actually surprised, because I had gone to her before. I was like, "Wait a minute. What? I'm definitely not voting for you. What are we doing? Let's figure out what we're doing tonight." But I get it. When heat's on you, it's a very intense feeling in the Round Table, and it's almost like, "What do I do? How do I survive?"

So I realized that it was just coming at me. But at that same time, I knew we didn't have the votes, and I knew she was so angry that she was either going to vote for me or Johnny at that point. And it was really hard, because, especially the way I played, I'm not a real reality star, and I don't really care to be. There's never a point where I want to be a character. I just want to be myself authentically. And there was a part of me that was like, "Oh, should I just forfeit the game and try to save her?" Obviously it would be the worst gameplay ever, but to jump in for her.

And that was the hardest part, because the boat was sinking at that point. And I felt like, for myself to play with integrity, being able to tell her before the Round Table and all that, I feel like I did my best. And that's why, I think, though, watching her get emotional, it's hard. You create relationships, and you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. So I think that's why it was very overwhelming for me afterwards. Because I am a competitor, but I also obviously want to play and know that these are my friends I'm playing with. So there were certain boundaries for me.

But at that point, for gameplay, it would have been over for us. If we just randomly did that with the way that we had no one on board for the votes, it would have been three against five. And it's hard. You never know what could happen. Maybe if the table really swung and Mark changed his mind and voted for Rob there, that could have unfolded that way. So you never know which combination. But in the moment that was what we had to do. It was so hard.

Well, let's talk about a far-less complicated relationship: Johnny. Talk to me about how you were able to navigate keeping your friendship a secret for so long. Were you surprised more people didn't know?
Yes, we never expected that. We thought we would probably be going home very early, just because we were a duo and an alliance. And of course, you're going to be targeted at that point. And you saw, once we came out of our about our friendship, we were a target. All the talk about, "Oh, if Johnny's a Traitor, then he's recruiting Tara." All of that converesation started happening. But thank goodness it was later in the game and we were able to stick it out for long enough to get to the end and try to really go for a swing for it.

But I think we thought going in, either someone's gonna know, follow our socials, know how close we are, and there's no secret. Or they just don't know, and they don't follow figure skating, and they don't know that we're that close. And we had our go-to lines of, "Oh, we know each other. We're both in the same sport. But Tara won very early, and I started much later, so we were in different generations. And I live on the East Coast, and Tara lives on the West Coast. We work together sometimes." We would just kind of phrase it like that. And we just thought, hopefully they would think that we were part of the same sport, but just competitive people that wanted to play their own games. And I think that kind of worked for us for a while.

You mention at the beginning of the finale the difficulty you had in playing with your head versus your heart. And you talked before about the number of times you would get emotional in the castle. Did it surprise you to be so invested, considering how many times you've mentioned it's a game?
Yes! I watched Season 3 before I left, and I was like, "Guys, why are you crying? Pull it together. What is happening? It's a game. It's so easy." But when you're in that castle, it doesn't feel like a game anymore. You're spending a month of your life there, and you're isolated, and you're making friends with people and forming real relationships.

And obviously, at this age and phase of my life, forming relationships and playing the game also with integrity was important to me. Johnny and I are not reality stars. We come from a different background, where I just wanted to play authentically. So it really was emotionally taxing to kind of switch on the heart and mind. Especially when you're in a competition, because we're athletes, so we want to be competitive. But I think for me, there were just certain boundaries that I set for myself. If my daughter watches this and sees her mom on TV playing this game, I want her to be proud of the way that I played. And so that was important to me.

4 Birth Dates That Are Born Caretakers

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:53pm

Nurturing people usually don't have to try to be caring. Rather, it's simply part of their character. Rather, it's simply part of their character. Nurturing caretakers reach out without being prompted or giving a second thought. You can trust these loyal friends to remember the small details and sense when something feels amiss without anyone saying a word.

Natural-born caretakers often do not seek recognition for their efforts. In fact, many prefer to work behind the scenes. However, their impact is undeniable. With their consistent presence, emotional insight, and unwavering loyalty, individuals born on certain dates often embody a nurturing energy that helps hold everything—and everyone—together. While kindness is an intentional trait that anyone can develop, numerologists and astrologers reveal which birth dates seem to heighten one's caretaking instincts. Read on to discover which four birth dates are born caretakers.

Which Birth Dates Are Natural Caretakers?

Check for your birth date. Disregard your birth month.

Born on the 2nd

People born on the 2nd of any month exhibit a unique sensitivity. You’re the friend who brings soup when someone is ill or the sibling who ensures everyone gets home safely. Ruled by Venus, the planet of magnetism and love, you tend to express affection openly. You don’t just talk about caring; you show it. You remember the little details, keep track of important dates, and check in after someone has had a rough week. Your way of nurturing isn’t loud or attention-seeking. It’s steady, dependable, and deeply woven into your character.

Topping the list? A YA novel about a kid whose life is forever changed by an event that happens at boarding school.

He adds, “I wrote the book to attempt time travel. Maybe through fiction, I would be allowed back into the home from which time had expelled me.”

Neil Sedaka’s Biggest Hit Surprised Fans by Topping the Charts Twice

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:35pm

Legendary singer Neil Sedaka has died at the age of 86 after being rushed to the hospitalFriday after “not feeling well.” Sedaka’s family released a statement to Daily Variety saying, “Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka. A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”

Fans of the ‘60s music legend are revisiting his lengthy catalog, diving into his biggest hit song “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do.” Released in 1962, the original version of “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” was an upbeat, doo-wop-influenced pop track that expertly captured the ache of young heartbreak under the guise of a deceptively cheerful melody. Ten years later, in 1975, the singer re-recorded the song as a slow, dramatic ballad, giving it new life and an entirely fresh emotional tone.

How "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" Topped the Charts Twice

The 1962 version of “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” became Sedaka’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, making him a fixture in early pop and rock history. The 1975 version also became a hit, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbing to No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, a rare achievement. Sedaka became the first artist to record two completely different versions of the same song and have them both become major chart hits.

“Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” still holds its place as one of the ultimate breakup songs and has been featured in film and television shows for decades, including 9-1-1: Lone Star, Beverly Hills 90210, and Saturday Night Live.

Neil Sedaka’s Musical Legacy

The song catapulted the Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter and pianist to fame. Classically trained at the Juilliard School of Music’s preparatory division before transitioning to pop music, Sedaka became known for crafting melodic, emotional hits that blended pop, rock, and the Brill Building songwriting style that defined much of pop music in the 1960s.

Sedaka is also famous for writing hits like “Calendar Girl,” “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” “Laughter in the Rain,” "Love Will Keep Us Together," and “Bad Blood.”

Despite Sedaka’s decades-long career and extensive catalog of genre-defining hits, “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” remains Sedaka’s signature song that fans will undoubtedly be listening to on repeat as they mourn his passing.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's Lookalike Daughter Ramona Sarsgaard Is All Grown Up in Rare Red Carpet Photos

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:26pm

Maggie Gyllenhaal enjoyed a rare public outing with her daughter Ramona Sarsgaard as the pair celebrated their new movie.

Gyllenhaal, 48, and Ramona, 19, posed for photos together on the red carpet at the premiere of The Bride! on Thursday, February 26, in London, twinning in black dresses. Gyllenhaal exuded elegance in a full-length, short-sleeve gown with a keyhole cutout, while Ramona looked equally as stylish as her mother in a spaghetti-strap frock, black tights and coordinating heels.

The duo also joined Gyllenhaal’s husband and Ramona’s father, Peter Sarsgaard, for a photo op on the carpet. While posing with her actor dad, 54, Ramona added a black coat with a white feathered neck to her ensemble. As the teen stood alongside her famous parents, her physical similarities to both of them were apparent.

Just like the film itself, the premiere of The Bride! was a family affair. Maggie wrote and directed the movie, which stars Peter and her brother Jake Gyllenhaal and features cameos from Ramona and her sister, Gloria, 13. (The cast also includes Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Annette Bening, Penélope Cruz and Julianne Hough.)

Earlier this month, Maggie explained why she invited her daughters to be in the film.

“I just thought if they want to, come be in the movie!” she told Entertainment Weekly. “And they did. I love having them be in it. My little daughter—she’s 13 now, but she was 11 then—is sitting on the bar at the end. And my other daughter was, for a long time, a really serious dancer, and so she’s with the dancers.”

The Bride! follows Frankenstein’s monster (Bale) as he finds a companion in the Bride (Buckley), who ignites a cultural revolution. According to Maggie, the characters’ refusal to be confined by labels reminds her of her daughters.

“They don’t fit in their boxes, and they were really the inspiration for making the movie,” she noted, referring to her kids.

Grant Buchanan/Dave Benett/WireImage

As for Peter, he was proud of his daughters’ work ethic on the set.

“At school, they make things and stuff like that, and they do theater, but they haven’t expressed a lot of interest in being in our business,” he told the outlet. “I wonder why.”

While Peter enjoys “working with people I’m close with,” his desire to land a role in The Bride! went beyond his personal connection to Maggie, to whom he has been married since May 2009.

“With Maggie, she’s just such an extraordinary talent that even if I were not married to her, I would be trying to get the part,” he insisted. “We’re all slightly different people at work than we are at home, so I would say that my wife probably prefers my home self to my work self—I ask ‘why’ too many times at work. I’m a little tougher, maybe, at work. But that’s also just a lot of experience in acting.”

Not only does Maggie consider Peter a “brilliant” actor, but she also credited him with “helping me think things through” during the creative process for The Bride!

Despite being a new experience for the couple and their daughters, the family collaboration felt natural to Peter.

“It didn’t seem like a big deal, to be honest,” he said. “It had the feeling of a bunch of people coming together to do something really special.”

What is Neil Sedaka's cause of death?

An official cause of death has not been confirmed. Earlier on Feb. 27, however, TMZ reported that Sedaka was transported to a hospital by ambulance that morning after not feeling well at home.

Before news of his death broke, the outlet reported that Sedaka was “recovering” at the hospital.

TMZ also said it spoke with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood station, which confirmed there was a “medical request” call on Friday morning. Deputies assisted the fire department on the call, and Sedaka was taken to the hospital by paramedics around 8 a.m. PT.

No additional details about the health issues that prompted the call have been released.

Tributes and legacy

Sedaka's high school sweetheart, fellow musician Carole King, paid tribute via Instagram.

“Neil Sedaka was so talented, and he inspired me to follow my dream of being a songwriter,” she wrote. “With love and gratitude and condolences to his family.”

"I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Neil Sedaka,” wrote The Monkees' Micky Dolenz on Instagram.

“I’ll never forget when he showed up all the way from the East Coast to pay tribute to Davy at his LA-based memorial with a performance of ‘Love Comes Knocking at Your Door,'” Dolenz continued. “Sending my thoughts to his family, friends, and everyone who loved his music.”

Sedaka is survived by his wife, Leba Strassberg, whom he married in 1962, and their children Dara and Marc.

Fitness Influencer Lee ‘Malibu’ Markham Admits He Falsely Claimed IED Injury

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:12pm

Fitness influencer Lee “Malibu” Markham is speaking out after admitting that a key part of his public story is not true.

Markham, who rose to viral popularity in recent months under the handle @malibufitmaxx, built a strong following across both fitness and military communities on Instagram. As his platform grew, so did scrutiny, particularly surrounding his appearance.

While online critics frequently speculated about plastic surgery and facial fillers, a narrative circulated that Markham’s facial features were the result of injuries sustained in combat, specifically from an improvised explosive device.

But on Friday, February 27, Markham addressed the controversy directly in a video on Instagram.

“I wanted to talk to you directly about the claim that I made, taking an IED blast to the face,” he began. He clarified, “I want to be clear I did serve between 2005 and 2010.” He added that his military service remains something he is proud of and that he has “always had deep respect for the men and women who served alongside me, especially those who suffered more than I ever have.”

However, Markham acknowledged that the IED claim was fabricated. “Instead of facing that right away, I made a bad decision and put ‘IED Survivor’ in my bio. That was not true and it was wrong.” He continued, “Truly I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart.”

View this post on Instagram

The influencer said criticism about his appearance contributed to the decision, admitting he “didn't handle it well” while adjusting to public attention. “I take full responsibility for it,” he stated, adding, “Trust is earned. It's not owed.”

Despite the controversy, many followers appear to be extending grace in the comment section of his apology video.

“We forgive you bro all love ❤️🙌,” one fan wrote, while another agreed, “Immediate accountability, no excuses, no perfectly curated video. Good stuff man.”

Another shared, “The guy just wanted to stop being bullied. So sad people have to hate and be mean.”

“We’re good bro. I get it and you’d never expect to be at a million followers in a few weeks. We all cope with our stuff in different ways. You handled this as best as anyone could,” a third replied before thanking the fitness guru. “Thanks for being a ray of sunshine, now that this is cleared up you got the world ahead of you.”

Others were still a little shocked at the admission, however.

“Bro to make a lie like that though cmon....” one user said. Another commented, “Not cool. 😢.”

Another stated, “Idk anyone that would make up that lie. Yall are saying good job for owning up to that which is odd to me. He lied for a minute about that now and so many people blew up his page because of it.”

While questions remain about how the narrative initially spread, Markham has said he intends to move forward with transparency, telling viewers, “All I can do is be honest with you guys going forward and let my actions speak for myself over time.”

The Quality You Can't Resist, According to Your Birth Month

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 4:11pm

Attraction might seem random, but what draws us in is often linked to personality traits that align with our desires, values, and the emotions we seek. Birth month astrology can influence what captures our interest, as well as the energy, traits, and qualities that make our hearts take notice. While everyone is unique, each birth month tends to gravitate towards general personality traits and attractions. Read on to discover more for your birth month and your secret attraction.

What is Each Birth Month Most Attracted to?

Check for your birth month. Disregard your birth date.

January - Ambition

It’s no surprise that January-borns are often driven and purposeful. Capricorn values hard work and long-term goals, while Aquarius appreciates vision and originality. Those born in January are attracted to individuals who have a clear direction in life. Indifference or a lack of purpose can be unattractive to them. They seek partners who are enthusiastic about building and shaping their reality together.

February - Creativity

People born in February have elevated ideals. Aquarius individuals love innovation and big ideas, while Pisces individuals are artistic and imaginative. February-born individuals are attracted to creative minds, including musicians, writers, thinkers, and dreamers. They're intrigued by originality and authentic self-expression. Predictability does not excite them. Where's the fun in that? They require imagination.

March - Emotional Depth

March-borns are often soulful intuitives. They're either a Pisces, known for their deep feelings and sensitivity, or an Aries, who is straightforward and unafraid to express their thoughts. People born in March thrive in meaningful relationships and struggle with shallow connections. They value honesty, genuine conversations, and emotional transparency. If you openly discuss their feelings without avoiding the vulnerability, you'll check their boxes.

April - Confidence

People born in April are lively. Whether they are Aries, known for being direct and action-oriented, or Taurus, who embodies a steady and self-assured presence, those born in this month value confidence. They have a keen eye for noticing when someone is secure in themselves, and trying too hard to impress is a definite turn-off. What stands out to them the most is someone who feels solid, genuine, and comfortable being exactly who they are.

May - Loyalty

May-borns require steadiness and communication. Whether they're a committed Taurus or a social Gemini, this birth month values meaningful connection and conversation. May-borns pay close attention to consistency. Do you keep your promises? Do your actions match your words? They're attracted to people who follow through and keep their word. Grand gestures are nice, but reliability is what truly matters to them.

June - Humor

People born in June are known for their playful whimsy. Either a witty Gemini or a warm Cancer, they connect through curiosity and lightheartedness. June-born individuals are attracted to those who can make them laugh. Save the rehearsed jokes. They look for natural humor, chemistry, and playful banter. For them, sharing joy is a meaningful connection in itself. If a conversation flows easily and feels engaging, they're naturally drawn in.

July - Protectiveness

Cancer and Leo wear their heart on their sleeve. Either a caring and protective Cancer or a Leo, loyal and strong-hearted, they require emotional transparency. July-born individuals are attracted to people who make them feel secure. Psychological safety is a must. They appreciate someone who is both gentle and strong — the type who shows up, speaks up, and stays steady when things get hard.

August - Passion

August-borns have bold personalities. Whether they're a Leo with fire and expressiveness, or a Virgo who carries focus and intensity more quietly, you can't ignore their presence. People born in August notice similar passion. They're drawn to those who care deeply about something, whether it's their work, relationships, or personal goals. A lack of enthusiasm turns them off. Drive and purpose draw them closer.

September - Intelligence

Born in September? You carry intellectual grace. This birth month is either a thoughtful Virgo or a relationship-oriented Libra who moves through the world with refined thoughtfulness. September-born individuals are attracted to fellow sharp minds. A detailed discussion stirs up their passion. Most of all, they respect someone who can teach them something new or offer a different perspective.

October - Mystery

October-borns look at what lies beneath the surface with an inquisitive mind. Whether they're a socially aware Libra or a private Scorpio, their desires can be intense. To pull them in, know they are intrigued by what isn't immediately revealed. Tasteful depth and subtlety go a long way. If someone gives everything away too quickly, their interest fades.

November - Authenticity

People born in November are either mysterious Scorpios or freedom-seeking Sagittarians. They value emotional honesty, truth, and personal freedom. November-born individuals have an instinctive ability to sense when someone is not being genuine, which makes them particularly drawn to authenticity. If you try to hide your flaws, they may build a wall between you. To them, truth is far more important than hearing what they want to hear.

These earrings are the definition of glam and elegance. Each earring features six rhinestone crystals that slightly decrease in size from top to bottom. The crystals also boast various hues, allowing these earrings to stand out and add a pop of color to your look. The cream versions have a warm color palette with amber, coral, blush pink, and milky white tones, while the moody dark earrings are adorned with crystals in black, green, and blue hues.

The largest crystal is prong-set on the post, acting as the base. From there, the smaller crystals (also prong-set) elegantly cascade down. The crystals are delicately linked, designed to sway along with your movements. With a 2.25-inch drop, these earrings will gracefully frame your face and draw attention.

Made of brass and plated with 14-karat gold, these earrings have a polished finish for a touch of luxury and some shine. They are fixed on a post backing, designed to sit comfortably on your lobes. Because the crystals are rhinestones, they have a lightweight feel and won’t weigh down your ears as much as other gemstone styles.

Costco Shoppers Are Racing to Stores for This Limited-Time Ice Cream Flavor—But There's a Catch

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 3:53pm

When you're a coffee lover, you're often on board with anything in the coffee family. You recognize that Robusta beans have more caffeine, but you still love the taste of Arabica coffee for its smoother, sweeter flavor. You love affogatos -- a "dessert" of espresso poured over ice cream. And, you know that a Vietnamese coffee, which consists of iced coffee served over condensed milk, is delicious.

Imagine our happy surprise when we discovered that Costco is carrying our dream flavor: Mavens' Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream, for $15.99 for two pints. Costco Bay Area Finds posted the news on their Instagram, and fans couldn't contain their joy.

View this post on Instagram

"OMG I love this brand," commented one person. "Need to runnnnn."

"Dang it," wrote another. "I just went there today might have to go back for this."

Mavens Creamery also jumped in the comments to alert everyone that the flavor, made with Robusta coffee and condensed milk, is only available for a limited time. They also had some sad news for the unfortunate souls who don't live in San Francisco.

"At this moment this flavor is only available at select Bay Area Costcos."

She also asked disappointed coffee and ice cream lovers to request "Item No. 2004289 at your local Costco's membership desk in person, by phone, or on the app."

"These requests really help Costco know where there is demand," they added.

Mavens Creamery was founded in 2014 by sisters Gwen and Christine Nguyen. After realizing there weren't many options for Asian-inspired ice cream flavors like Ube, Lychee, or Black Sesame, they set out to create Mavens. Thanks to Google and YouTube, they figured out how to make their first item: macaron ice cream sandwiches.

In 2019, they appeared on Shark Tank, hoping to secure an investment of $400,000 in exchange for 10% equity. They eventually agreed to a deal with Barbara Corcoran for $400,000 in exchange for 25% equity in their company. The sisters told Tasting Table that the deal fell through.

While Vietnamese Coffee sounds pretty fantastic, the company has many other equally bold and exciting flavors, such as Durian, Pandan Coconut, Avocado, and Thai Tea. They're available in either value packs containing two pints or single pints.

Uber Is Launching Flying Taxis—and They’re Arriving Sooner Than You Think

Fri, 02/27/2026 - 3:46pm

Your next Uber ride might not involve traffic at all.

The rideshare company announced on Wednesday, February 25 that it’s partnering with Joby Aviation to introduce Uber Air powered by Joby, an electric air taxi service scheduled to begin operations in Dubai later this year. Instead of hailing a car, users will be able to reserve a seat in one of Joby’s aircraft directly through the Uber app.

“We’ve long believed in the power of advanced air mobility to transform how people move through cities,” Sachin Kansal, Uber’s chief product officer, said in a press release. “With Uber Air, riders will be able to book Joby’s electric air taxi through a simple and familiar, one-tap experience on Uber, seamlessly connecting every leg of their journey—making ground-to-sky travel even more effortless.”

The aircraft are designed to carry four passengers and a pilot, with room for luggage. Using six tilting propellers, the vehicles lift off vertically before accelerating into forward flight, reaching speeds up to 200 mph. The company says the design keeps noise levels low enough to blend into the background of city life.

Joby executive Eric Allison described the initiative as “a new layer of urban transportation.” He added, “Our focus has always been on creating a flight experience that operates quietly and integrates naturally into the rhythm of city life.” He noted that working with Uber makes the concept more accessible to everyday riders.

Dubai will serve as the first test market, with dedicated takeoff and landing hubs planned across the city. Pricing is expected to resemble premium rides on the app, though final details have yet to be confirmed.

While expansion to the United States will require Federal Aviation Administration certification, Joby says it has already logged more than 50,000 miles in flight testing. If all goes according to plan, commercial passengers could be boarding before the end of the year.
