4 Key Personality Traits of People Born in August

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 10:45pm

As the final full month of summer, August often boasts blazing temperatures, weekends ripe for planning a family vacation, and the feeling that open-ended, fun-filled days are slowly but surely moving into the rearview mirror. That sense can fuel a fiery push to make the most of the final days of the steamiest time of year by prioritizing activities that bring you more pleasure and joy, whether that’s seeing your favorite band in concert or sneaking in as much beach time as possible with your S.O. August’s latter half often offers up back-to-school season energy, which, even if you aren’t a student anymore, can turn your attention to pragmatic to-dos. This is the effect of the astrological forces at play during the eighth month of the year.

Whether you’re an August-born person yourself or you care about someone who is, read on to learn how the seventh month of the year influences a person’s perspective, strengths, and even challenges.

The Astrology of Being Born in August

People born in August fall under one of two zodiac signs: sunny Leo (July 23 - August 22) or analytical Virgo (August 23 - September 22). People born when the sun was in its home sign of Leo, symbolized by the Lion, are charismatic, optimistic, charming, driven, passionate, spotlight-loving, loyal, warm, and confident. As the fixed fire sign, they are resolute when pursuing their most ambitious goals, but they might also suffer from obstinacy. Meanwhile, those who came into the world when the sun was moving through Virgo, symbolized by the Maiden, are analytical, cerebral, service-oriented, sensitive, intuitive, helpful, nurturing, thoughtful, and detail-focused. As the mutable earth sign, they are both adaptable and grounded, but they might struggle with indecisiveness, which frequently stems from being innately worrisome.

That said, those born in August are wired to plan out what they want to achieve and then create bold, step-by-step game plans for crossing the finish line. Born to lead and accomplish, they believe they can reach heights that many signs wouldn’t even dare dream of, and they’ll likely also have the receipts to back it up. They’re also typically adept communicators who have a flair for entertaining and storytelling.

4 Core Personality Traits of Those Born in August1. Self-Expressive

People who came into the world with a lot of Leo influence can thank their ruler, the confidence-bolstering sun, for the fact that they’re innate entertainers and creatives who have a hefty amount of self-assuredness when it comes to owning and sharing their voice. And those who were born under the influence of Virgo have their ruler, messenger Mercury, working in their favor to bolster their supercommunicator abilities, which often fuel their ability to be impressive, engaging writers, speakers, and conversationalists. That said, people who celebrate their birthday in August are often born creatives — or at least enjoy channeling their emotions and thoughts into some kind of art, whether dance, filmmaking, theater, or their private sketchbook or journal.

2. Social and Lively

Born in a month that lends itself to a full of a vast array of activities — from late summer vacations to pre-fall wardrobe refreshes, get-togethers with family and early season football games — August babies are people-oriented, energetic, and generally full of life. They’ll find it easy to connect with just about anyone they encounter out in the world, and they’re also loyal to their forever social circle. You can also count on an August-born person to offer up lots of engaging conversation.

3. Whimsical and Full of Heart

As a passionate fire sign that’s associated with the Fifth House of Self-Expression, sunny Lions often daydream about their lives mirroring their favorite romantic comedy. Similarly, cerebral Virgos who are wired to be of service to others can come up with detailed fantasies that they’ll apply their pragmatic planning skills to making concrete. In turn, August-born people are some of the most imaginative and romantic around. You can count on them to not only think of a truly magical date night experience but fully bring it to life in a way that turns out even better than their original vision.

4. Magnanimous

Whether you want to make the most of its abundant sunshine and warmth, its invitations to soak up summertime or kick off an early harvest season, it’s easy to think of August as one of the most “generous” months in terms of the activities and opportunities it has to offer. This trait happens to be baked into the personalities of people who are born during the eighth month of the year. They’re eager to show up for the people they love and strangers, whether through charitable acts, donating their time, energy, or research-savvy, or just lending a warm, wise shoulder to lean on.

NAACP Image Awards: Delroy Lindo and Ryan Coogler Respond to Support After Slur Fiasco

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 10:11pm

Last week, the Sinners cast attended the BAFTAs since they were nominated for their work. The night unexpectedly took a turn when a slur was yelled at Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, who were presenting on stage.

The cast was recognized on February 28 at the NAACP Image Awards. Fellow actors gave Jordan, 39, and Lindo, 73, love. Lindo later thanked them on stage with Ryan Coogler.

Delroy Lindo Says a Negative Became a Positive

Regina Hall presented an award on stage and acknowledged the actors in the audience. "I feel like also to just take a moment to the two kings who are in this audience and just send you so much love for your class and that is Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo," Hall said on stage. The audience gave a roaring applause then a standing ovation.

Coogler, 39, and Lindo took the stage later to present an award. The audience once again clapped for them. Lindo happily clapped too.

"Thank you, thank you," the actor said. "Before we start, I just like to officially say that we appreciate [...] all of the support and the love we've been shown in the aftermath of what happened last weekend. It means a lot to us. It is an honor to be here amongst our people this evening, amongst so many people who have shown us such incredible support. And it's a classic case of something that could've been very negative becoming very positive."

The director acknowledged the importance of the diverse award show. "There’s something powerful about standing in this room — a room where we don’t have to explain ourselves, or our stories aren’t footnotes," Coogler said. "They’re the main text."

Jordan was awarded Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for Sinners. Lindo was awarded Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. Sinners was award for ensemble.

Shanna Moakler Claims ‘Lines Were Crossed’ in Co-Parenting With Kourtney Kardashian

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 10:07pm

Shanna Moakler just made a bold claim about her kids' stepmother Kourtney Kardashian.

During the Friday, Feb. 27 episode of the When Reality Hits podcast hosted by Brittany Cartwright, Moakler alleged that Kardashian is not a good stepmother to her children.

Moakler and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were married from 2004 to 2008 and share sonLandon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20. Shanna also has daughter Atiana, who considers Barker her father figure, from a previous relationship

Barker went on to marry Kardashian in 2022 and the pair have since welcomed son Rocky, 2.

When Cartwright asked Moakler whether the two women had ever sat down to talk through co-parenting, the former Miss USA quickly explained that those conversations never occurred.

"I don't think those women have those conversations with anybody," Moakler replied.

“At one point in time, I felt it wasn’t respectful,” the former Miss USA added. “At certain times, I felt, ‘Wow, if I had your kids, I wouldn’t be doing some of the s–t you’re doing with my kids.'”

Moakler went on to say that if she were watching Kardashian's children, she “would have made sure there were certain lines that weren’t crossed.”

“I feel like there were some lines that were crossed,” she added, without sharing specifically what those lines were. “It is what it is. It’s happened. And I feel like we’ve all moved forward from it now.”

Kardashian, for her part, has maintained she has a positive relationship with her stepchildren.

"Alabama and I are super close. I've known her since she was 8 years old," she said during an episode of Hulu's The Kardashians.

As for Landon and Atiana, she described their dynamic as "balanced," noting she tries to be supportive when needed without overstepping.

1989 No. 1 Hit Ranked Among 'Worst Songs of All Time' Has Over 600 Million Streams

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 10:00pm

While critics and fans alike will claim that one song is "better" or "worse" than another, the truth is that musical opinions are just as subjective as any other type of preference. How else to explain the fact that so many number one hits have been ranked as some of the worst of all time over the years?

That's why when Rolling Stone explored some of the "worst songs ever" on an episode of the podcast Rolling Stone Music Now, hosted by Brian Hiatt, plenty of bestselling singles were discussed. But, as music journalist and guest Rob Sheffield pointed out, "bad" songs aren't always a bad thing.

“Bad taste is timeless,” Sheffield said. “Terrible songs are a long and proud pop tradition. It wouldn’t be nearly as much fun to be a fan of pop music if there was some kind of quality control that prevented songs like this from happening.”

Instead of choosing one "worst" song in particular, Hiatt, Sheffield and fellow music writer Brittany Spanos talked about some of their personal least-favorite tunes, even admitting that they've come to appreciate several of the songs they once detested (like Train's "Drops of Jupiter").

Some of the other songs to come up in conversation included such classics as Cat Stevens' "Wild World," The Eagles' "One of These Nights," Styx's "Come Sail Away," and Bob Dylan's 14-minute-long "Joey"...but one song that really brought back memories for Hiatt was Billy Joel's 1989 number one hit, "We Didn't Start the Fire."

"When I was in like 7th, 8th grade, I thought that 'We Didn't Start the Fire' by Billy Joel was a masterpiece," he said. "You know, only later did I realize how many people despise that song and see it...as a part of this thing, which, you know, it is very funny if you read it that way. It's like nothing was actually the Boomers' fault. It's a very funny reading of the song...look at all the stuff that happened, not us."

"It's just a litany of excuses for all stuff that happened to the Boomers, but...is it terrible?" Hiatt continued, adding, "I recently heard it and still enjoyed it, but I recognize why people hate it. It's a weird, weird thing."

As it turns out, even Joel himself isn't a big fan of the song. As Smooth Radio reported, he once called "We Didn't Start the Fire" a "terrible piece of music" in conversation with documentary maker David Horn.

“But, it started as a whole different song," Joel continued, adding, "The original song I had was this country idea that I had. But when you take the melody by itself, terrible, it’s like a dentist drill.”

While many critics have agreed with Joel, nothing changes the fact that "We Didn't Start the Fire" was a massive success. Not only did it become his third single to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989, but it was also nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year. And it's still popular: At the time of this writing, it's been streamed 685,077,182 times on Spotify. Not too shabby for a song that apparently sounds like a trip to the dentist.

The Classic Rock Star That Matches Your Vibe, Based on Birth Date

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 9:44pm

Whether you’re a Baby Boomer who vividly remembers Woodstock, a Millennial raised on The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac, or a member of Gen Z who learned everything there is to know about ‘70s and ‘80s hits from your Gen X parent, passion for classic rock spans generations. It’s tough not to find yourself head over heels in love with melodies, lyrics, and performances that are truly timeless. And learning about the icons behind these tracks is equally appealing.

Whether you’re a hopeless romantic pleasure-seeker (I’m looking at you, fellow people who came into the world on the 6th, 15th, or 24th) or an industrious, resilient, pragmatic person who’s wise beyond your years (hey there, people born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th), there’s a classic rock star you can relate to. Though they may be legends in the world of rock ‘n roll, their voice and perspective might truly resonate with your heart, mind, and spirit.

Read on to find out which iconic rock star matches your energy and personality best, based on your birth date.

Which Classic Rock Star Legend Matches Your Vibe, Based on Your Birth Date

Read on to learn which classic rock star mirrors your personality, based on the date you were born.

EXPLORE: The 4 Most Friendly Birth Months

Born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th: Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones)

As a person whose birth date is associated with the sun, which serves as the main character in the solar system and in turn bolsters vitality, confidence, and self-expression, it’s actually probably a bit of a struggle for you to not command the spotlight — much like Mick Jagger, who is of course The Rolling Stones’ iconic frontman. Born July 26, 1943, his super-stellium in Leo reflects his ability to lead the charge of one of the biggest bands in rock ‘n roll history for the last 60+ years, always claiming center stage, entertaining, and even transfixing audiences.

OTHER: Which Bird Mirrors Your Soul, Based on Birth Date

Born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th: Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac)

As someone who came into the world on a day that’s aligned with the emotional compass of the zodiac, the moon, your personality is connected to feminine energy, an innate desire to nurture others, and a whimsical, even sentimental, perspective on the world. Fleetwood Mac’s keyboardist Christine McVie, whose sun was in moon-ruled Cancer, penned some of the iconic band’s most heartfelt, emotionally intelligent tracks, including "Don't Stop,” "Little Lies,” "Everywhere," and "You Make Loving Fun.” People whose birth date reduces down to the number two can relate to McVie’s artistic eye and romantic point of view.

OTHER: 4 Birth Months Bound for Success, According to Experts

Born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, or 30th: Freddie Mercury (Queen)

As someone whose birth date reduces down to three, you’re bold, bright, gregarious, and frequently in pursuit of a bigger life, because three  is ruled by Jupiter, the “Great Benefic” in astrology which bolsters growth, fortune, abundance, and joy. British rock band Queen’s magnetic frontman exuded this same big-hearted, optimistic energy. Mercury actually had a super-fortunate Jupiter aspect in his natal chart: It was conjunct romantic Venus in beauty- and art-loving Libra, which speaks to his joie d’vivre, innate kindness, and dazzling on-stage persona.

Born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st: David Byrne (Talking Heads)

David Byrne headed up the 1970s and 1980s hitmaking band, The Talking Heads, and endeared himself to fans by marching to the beat of his own drum, whether by dancing with a lamp, wearing an oversized suit, or singing about a psycho killer. Byrne’s unique point of view mirrors the personality of people whose birth dates reduce down to four, because the number is associated with Uranus, the planet of rebellion, revolution, and change. People born on these dates are quirky, innovative rulebreakers.

NEXT: Your Emotional Strength, Based on Birth Date

Born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd: Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac)

Fleetwood Mac frontwoman and solo star Stevie Nicks embodies the cerebral, ethereal, changeable vibe that’s instilled into people born on a date that reduces down to five. The planetary ruler of this birth date is Mercury, which oversees how we think and trade notes on our brightest ideas. It’s the planet of curiosity and information. Whether you’re a fan of her memorable lyrics (think: “Silver Springs,” “Dreams” and “Gypsy”) or her imaginative on-stage performances, Nicks, who was born with her sun (and Mercury!) in Gemini, has made her mark in history as a true Mercury-ruled supercommunicator.

Born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th: Paul McCartney (The Beatles and Wings)

If you came into the world on one of these dates, your birth date reduces down to the number six, and is therefore aligned with Venus, the planet of pleasure, beauty, art, music, poetry, and romance. And who better to mirror that energy than the optimistic, romantic Beatle who went on to write “Silly Little Love Songs”? McCartney, who was married to and started the band Wings with first wife and love of his life Linda Eastman McCartney, is best known for penning heartfelt lyrics that celebrate love, pleasure, and all things Venusian.

OTHER: Your Lucky Crystal Stone, Based on the Week Day You Were Born

Born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th: Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship)

You’re imaginative, mystical, intuitive, and imaginative, thanks to your birth date reducing down to seven, a number aligned with Neptune, the planet of dreams and illusion. Your spiritually astute, even a bit psychic perspective is reflected by Jefferson Airplane frontwoman Grace Slick who is thought of as the Queen of Acid Rock and an absolute cultural icon. Her ever-evolving, wildly psychedelic, and Alice in Wonderland-inspired art are all aspects of her legacy that anyone born on these birth dates would likely connect with.

Born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th: Janis Joplin

If you were born on a date that reduces down to the number eight, you’re strong, resilient, responsible, pragmatic, and deeply devoted to industrious work, because this birth date is associated with taskmaster Saturn. Janis Joplin, who served as the frontwoman of the psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company before becoming a solo star, was known for pouring a great deal of time and energy into her art, often calling the shots in the studio. And it’s no wonder she put her nose to the grindstone, given that she was born with her sun in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Tragically passing at just 27, Joplin has gone down in rock history as a hardworking, ambitious, and dynamic singer.

MORE: This is Your Lucky Number, Based on Birth Month

Born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th: Steven Tyler (Aerosmith)

If your birth date reduces down to nine, you’re courageous, full of stamina, drive, and lots of passion, because the day you were born is associated with Mars, the red planet that oversees sex, energy, action, and war. Steven Tyler, frontman of Aerosmith, was born when the sun was moving through Mars-ruled Aries, and in turn, he’s become a rock legend best known for his flamboyant style, wild and fiery on-stage performances, steamy lyrics, and unique vocal range. His off-the-charts energy and rep as a trailblazer is something anyone born on these dates can relate to and often strives to maintain.

4 Key Personality Traits of People Born in July

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 9:23pm

From date nights spent under a sky full of a patchwork quilt of fireworks and stars to long, brightly lit days spent next to a pool or at your favorite beachy spot, July sets the stage for mid-summer fun, family time, and romance. It’s a month that invites you to hit pause on work to revel in abundant sunshine and big, blue skies, and in turn, you could be inspired to connect on an even more heartfelt level with your nearest and dearest. This is owed to the astrological energies coursing throughout the seventh month of the year.

Whether you’re a July-born person yourself or you care about someone who is, keep reading to learn how the seventh month of the year influences a person’s perspective, strengths, and even challenges.

The Astrology of Being Born in July

People born in July fall under one of two zodiac signs: nurturing Cancer (June 21 - July 22) or charismatic Leo (July 23 - August 22). People born when the sun is moving through Cancer, symbolized by the Crab, are caregiving, intuitive, emotionally intelligent, and home- and family-oriented. They care deeply for their families, crave security, and will shower any living being with lots of warm, thoughtful, cozy love. As the cardinal water sign, they’re also the most action-oriented, big-picture thinkers of the water sign crew. Meanwhile, those born when the sun was in its home sign of Leo, symbolized by the Lion, are theatrical, charismatic, dynamic, driven, fiercely loyal, confident, and upbeat. As the fixed fire sign, they are laser-focused on achieving their ambitious goals, but they might also struggle with flexibility or adopting a more nuanced approach.

That said, those born in July are often people who are both the life of the party and a caring shoulder to lean on. They’re magnetic, big-hearted, action-oriented, and creative. Their self-expressive, affable nature makes them easy to be around, and they also generally find it easy to make their mark, which reflects the luminous, joy-filled vibe of this summertime month.

4 Core Personality Traits of Those Born in July1. Captivating

Whether because they’re so kind and loving or because they find it easy to claim center stage, people born in July tend to attract attention and come off as both mesmerizing and memorable. If they’re more influenced by the fixed fire sign Leo, their presence may be downright commanding, as these people are often natural-born leaders. And if they have more of a Cancerian vibe, they’ll catch your eye because they’re big picture visionaries who happen to be so genuinely giving.

2. Generous

Born in a month that offers up 31 days that are often filled with sparkly sunshine and plenty of opportunities to get outside and potentially even travel, it’s no wonder that people who are born in July wear their hearts on their sleeve and aim to shower their loved ones — and often, just about anyone they encounter — with gifts, words of affirmation, or acts of service. Consider that these people are ruled by the intuitive, emotional moon or the vivid sun, both of which illuminate our sky. That could be one reason they’re compelled to love on others.

3. Romantic

People who have a strong Cancer influence are incredibly sentimental, often remembering and taking pleasure in the smallest detail, like the way their lover’s hair looked in a particular light on a vacation they took many “moons” ago. They’re passionate about holding on to sweet notes, photographs, and other keepsakes. So, when it comes time to show someone they love how much they care, they’ll thoughtfully lean on these details. And people who have a lot of Leo in their birth chart crave experiences that mirror the greatest love affairs ever seen on the silver screen. They believe life can mirror art, and they live for — and will go out of their way to set the stage for those dramatic, heart-stopping moments with someone special.

4. Charming and Funny

Naturally comedic Cancerian people will put in serious work to make someone laugh, and Leos are effortlessly entertaining, so you can count on someone born in July to be humorous. They’ll also enjoy laughing along with you, finding that to be one of the loveliest ways to bond with someone they care about. And like the warm, often quite comfortable days of the month they were born during, July people are often truly delightful to spend time with, thanks to their innate charm and sunny, glass-half-full, proactive perspective on life.

Sterling K. Brown was awarded for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Paradise at the NAACP Image Awards on February 28. The award was given to him after Samuel L. Jackson remembered Reverend Jesse Jackson.

Brown, 49, gave an acceptance speech about being honored during President Trump's presidency.

Sterling K. Brown Says “They Can’t Erase Us” View this post on Instagram

"Thank you to the National Association for the advancement of colored people," the actor said on stage. "I spent a lot of time in predominantly white spaces. So it's always a joy to be in a room with us. We are living under an administration that has an attack on diversity, equity, inclusion, justice. That's trying to erase critical race theory. But like [Samuel L. Jackson] said, they can't erase this because there's no country without us." This is Brown's third NAACP Image Award. He thanked Disney and Hulu behind Paradise.

My best half doing her very, very best, Vanessa Bell Calloway with Prince Hakeem asking her to bark like dog, a big dog," he joked. The actor shouted out his mother, Aralean Brown, who was at home living with ALS.

Paradise follows a Secret Service agent named Xander Collins (Brown) in a bunker after an apocalyptic event. Season 2 premiered on February 23. Duplaix has been central to several major storylines during Beyond the Gates’ first year as Dr. Nicole Richardson Dupree.

When the series began, Nicole was married to Dr. Ted Richardson (then Maurice Johnson, now Keith. D. Robinson). The couple share two children, Kat Richardson (Colby Nixon) and Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon), who is raising a family with Bradley ‘Smitty’ Smith (Mike Manning) and their two adopted children.

The marriage later unraveled after it was revealed that Ted had an affair with Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant), Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle). The secret was exposed during Nicole and Ted’s wedding anniversary celebration.

Since then, Nicole has embraced single life and begun dating again, including a growing connection with Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan) and Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley)

Elsewhere in Nicole’s life, her mother Anita Dupree (Tamra Tunie) was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.

Because the disease can be hereditary, Nicole was tested for the BRCA gene mutation. While her results were negative, her sister Dani Dupree Richardson (Karla Mosley) tested positive, bringing new challenges for the family.

The 57th annual NAACP Image Awards airs on February 28, 2026 on BET and CBS. The event will be hosted by Deon Cole.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS with episodes premiering weeknights on Paramount Plus. Viewers can catch all of the drama from the beginning of Beyond the Gates on Paramount Plus or on Pluto TV’s dedicated 24/7 FAST Channel.

What Is Astrocartography? Your Guide to Finding the Best Places to Live and Travel

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 8:39pm

Fans, students, and practitioners of astrology know full well that you can use knowledge of your birth chart or planetary transits to identify your own strengths, challenges, opportunities, and uphill battles. Astrology is an amazing tool for bolstering self-awareness and better understanding your nearest and dearest. But did you know you could leverage the language of the sky to get a read on how you’ll experience certain locations around the world?

“While people might go to astrology to answer questions like, ‘What is my life’s purpose?’ or ‘What are the characteristics of my soulmate?’, locational astrology seeks to answer place-based questions rooted in the individual’s birth chart, such as: ‘Where should I move to achieve a specific goal?’ ‘Why has this city been so challenging for me?’ ‘Is this a good place to start a brick-and-mortar business?’” explains KJ Atlas, a certified astrologer who specializes in locational, business, and lifestyle astrology.

Yes, locational astrology, or astrocartography, can offer valuable intel on whether you should travel to a specific place for your dream vacation or make a bold move that could transform your professional path, relationships, personal growth, and even your health. Read on to learn more and find out how to use astrocartography to find your forever home or plan your next transformational trip.

What Is Astrocartography?

Pioneered in the 1970s by astrologer Jim Lewis, this form of astrology compares your astrological birth chart to a map of the globe to offer insight into how you might feel or fare when you’re traveling or living in a particular location.

“This unique niche within astrology shows us our best places in the world for different areas of life,” explains Helena Woods, a locational and predictive astrologer and author of Slow Living: The Secrets to Slowing Down and Noticing the Simple Joys Anywhere (Happiness and Wellness, Meditative Lifestyle). “[An astrocartography] map shows us a set of crisscrossing lines based on where the planets were when we were born. These colorful lines show us where planetary influences are strongest for us personally, as well as where specific life themes are most prominent. We can use this tool to plan our ideal vacations, investments, business growth locations, including where it would be best to live and thrive. Places have lifelong stories for us, and our map shows us where these stories and callings are located.”

Astrocartography is also a way to pinpoint specific “stories or life themes,” explains Woods.

“For instance, we might have a lot of relationships or friendships come from specific parts of the world,” she elaborates. “We have our best career and visibility locations that are best for collaborating, public speaking, taking on jobs, signing with business partnerships, or even going viral online.”

Woods herself travels full-time, using her ideal astrocartography locations to launch projects, host meetups and retreats, and even write books. She’s also seen people use locational astrology to invest in businesses, real estate properties, and commodities.

For her part, Atlas says she learned from growing up on a debilitated, limitation-spurring Saturn IC line that some locations just aren’t a good fit. “By the time I was 17, I had multiple run-ins with authority, endured significant trauma, and was eventually diagnosed with lupus after my body collapsed,” she recalls. “I felt like I had no one but my tiny family.”

At 20, she moved to her Sun Descendant line, which is associated with relationships, and that’s where she met her partner. When living on her North Node line, which is connected to destiny, she found her purpose through astrology, and her lupus went into full remission. Later, upon moving to her bold, go-getter Mars line in Los Angeles, she saw her business take off.

What to Know About Astrocartography Basics

Locational astrologers used to draw astrocartography maps by hand, but these days, it’s easy enough to head to a website, like Astro.com, which has an AstroClick Travel feature, to see yours. You will notice it’s presented as a series of vertical lines running over continents and oceans. Atlas recommends using this tool to explore the places you feel intuitively drawn to.

Each line corresponds to a planet and its position in the sky at the time of your birth. Planetary lines also offer unique energy that you’ll encounter when you’re near them.

For example, a Sun line is associated with greater confidence and a sense of being more centered in your sense of self. A Moon line may make you feel extra sensitive and intuitive. Mercury lines boost your ability to tap into your cerebral energy and communicate, while Venus lines can help you earn money, feel more charming, and bolster romance.

Another layer to consider: Each planetary or Nodal line is paired with one of the four major angles: the Rising/Ascendant (associated with the First House of Self), descendant (associated with the Seventh House of Partnership), Midheaven, or MC (associated with the Tenth House of Career and Public Image), and Imum Coeli, or IC (associated with the Fourth House of Home Life). For instance, there’s a Moon IC line, which will amplify your emotions (the moon) as well as focus on your inner, emotional life (IC).

How to Use Astrocartography to Find Your Ideal Place to Live

It’s possible to use astrocartography to find a part of the world where you absolutely thrive, and in turn, you might want to call your forever home. Atlas recalls finding herself drawn to Palm Springs, which sits on her abundance-bringing Jupiter line. “Whenever I traveled there, bookings for my business would roll in, and I felt incredible in my body,” says Atlas, who, just last year, made the move to the desert full-time.

That said, you might want to look at the following lines for insight into where you might want to settle down:

  • Moon lines are associated with emotions, intuition, and your perception of the world.
  • IC lines, as these relate to home and family, explain Woods. “Specifically lines involving Jupiter, Venus, or the Sun,” she notes. “For instance, Venus on the IC: Venus represents pleasure, enjoyment, and connection, and the IC represents your home or the land. Those locations where that Venus IC line is going through may be places you find greater connection and enjoyment in terms of living.”

Of course, you might notice that some or most of these lines are all the way across the country or even the globe from where you currently live.

“Relocating across the country to align with a different planetary line is a privilege not everyone has,” acknowledges Atlas.

In that case, you can take advantage of the vibes of these locations in other ways.

“You may notice that people who enter your life can embody the energies of places connected to your chart,” says Atlas. “For example, when I lived in Portland, my neighbor became my mentor in starting my first business. She was born and raised in Mumbai, where I happen to have my Venus Midheaven line. Form alliances with people in your community, especially those who have relocated from places that hold significant or fortunate energy for you. I’ve found these to be some of the most special and fated bonds.”

You can also lean on “remote activation,” says Woods, “which is calling in the energy of locations in the world without ever leaving your house.”

“For instance, perhaps you have a beautiful Venus line, which represents beauty, romance, wealth and pleasure, somewhere in the world and you connect with that planetary energy by watching movies or documentaries set in that location, watching vlogs from your favorite creators or podcasts that are based in that location or having art on your walls from that place,” she explains. “Jupiter lines are associated with spirituality, abundance, optimism, and travel. Watching movies or learning a foreign language based in locations where you have Jupiter lines can support you in feeling more expansive.”

How to Use Astrocartography to Plan Your Dream Vacation

When you spend your hard-earned money on a vacation, you want it to run smoothly, acknowledges Atlas, who has seen Uranus lines disrupt trips with unexpected chaos, strange occurrences, and even illness. “And there’s nothing like a Chiron line to put you in a bad mood when you’re supposed to be relaxing in paradise,” she points out.

Though locational astrologers would generally prefer to look at a person’s full natal chart and individual astrocartography map before making any statements about dream vacation spots, Atlas says she often recommends traveling to Sun, Venus, or Jupiter lines.

The Bottom Line on Tapping Into the Power of Astrocartography

Although there’s a lot to learn and explore around astrocartography on your own, working with a professional locational astrologer is your best bet, especially if you plan to make a major life decision or can’t seem to stop thinking about a certain place, points out Atlas.

“A trained astrologer can differentiate which locations are truly supportive based on your chart, rulerships, planetary aspects, and nuanced factors that take years to master,” she says, noting that having completed over 4,000 chart readings as a pro gives her the perspective to help clients see the full picture of what they might experience in a place.

Ultimately, as with any application of astrology, you’ll do well to get specific about what you want to learn and accomplish.

“Clarify your personal goals,” advises Atlas. “Avoid generalizing that all Sun lines are ‘good’ or that Venus lines are automatically where you’ll find love. Astrology of any kind is personal and nuanced. It’s essential to consider the whole chart before jumping to the map.”

Samuel L. Jackson Honors Rev. Jesse Jackson at NAACP Image Awards 2026

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 8:25pm

Black activist ReverendJesse Jackson, died at 84 on February 17. The NAACP Image Awards honored his work by giving a detailed description of his career with a video.

Samuel L. Jackson then took the stage to give touching words about what Rev. Jesse Jackson meant to him. The crowd then repeated one of Rev. Jackson's famous saying back to him.

Samuel L. Jackson Says Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Mission Will Continue Samuel L. Jackson

The award show highlighted the Civil Rights leader's work with Martin Luther King Jr. He later ran for president as a Democrat in 1984 and 1988. His work to protect the Voting Rights Act led to President Obama's later success. Rev. Jackson also focused on inspiring overlooked students.

"Some of you may have not been around when he took up the mantle from Dr. King that tragic day in Memphis. But for over half a century, which is a long damn time to be on the front lines, he advocated for the poor, the disenfranchised, for those who need work," Jackson, 77, said. "And found jobs for our community in every endeavor, including entertainment."

Rev. Jackson inspired the three-time NAACP Image award winner, coming from a poor background. "And even though we no longer hear his voice, whenever we see that wrong must be made right," he said. "All of us can ask ourselves, WWJD? What would Jesse do?" The actor told the audience to say, "I am somebody" and they did.

"And we will continue his mission and carry the torching lit and keep both alive, and we will not be erased from this country's history. Come on dancing because of you. We are," the actor finished.

4 Key Personality Traits of People Born in June

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 8:12pm

Whether you look forward to family get-togethers spent poolside, see summertime as the perfect opportunity to hit the road and sneak in as much travel as possible, or look forward to soaking up as much sun as possible as the number of daylight hours per day reach their peak at the Summer Equinox. No matter which of those aspects of late springtime and early summer feels most thrilling, June is a month that you can’t help but feel is full of possibility as it closes out one season before ushering in a new one. It also sets a super-social, communicative, and intuitive vibe brought to you by the astrology of the sixth month of the year.

Whether you’re a June-born person yourself or you care about someone who is, keep reading to learn how the sixth month of the year influences a person’s perspective, strengths, and even challenges.

The Astrology of Being Born in June

People born in June fall under one of two zodiac signs: buzzy Gemini (May 21 - June 20) or heartfelt Cancer (June 21 - July 22). People born when the sun is moving through Gemini, symbolized by the Twins, are curious supercommunicators who adore soaking up and trading information. As the mutable air sign, they’re incredibly social and thrive when they’re flitting from one thing to the next. As adaptable as they are, they can find it tough to see plans through. Meanwhile, people born when the sun is moving through Cancer, symbolized by the Crab, are caregiving, intuitive, emotional homebodies who are naturally inclined to nurture others — from their closest family members to their own and other people’s pets. As the cardinal water sign, they’re also the most action-oriented, big picture thinkers of the water sign crew.

That said, people born in June are often enthusiastic, fun-loving, and family-oriented, eager to devote plenty of time and energy to their social circle as well as their loved ones. They’re often big-hearted, charming, and deeply invested in understanding more about the world and other human beings in general. They also find it easy to be imaginative and fun-loving, which mirrors the excitable and even somewhat magical energy of this month that serves as a bridge to summertime.

4 Core Personality Traits of Those Born in June1. Curious

Born in a month that serves as the culmination point of a season of growth and the kickoff of a season full of warmth and abundant sunshine, it’s no wonder people born in June are generally lovers of life who are interested in learning more about anything and everything. Whether they’re studying psychology, metaphysical practices like Tarot, music, geography, or a new technology, their minds are wired to soak up knowledge and then connect with others to talk it all through. They also know the value of a shared learning experience, being among the first to plan an eye-opening day at a museum or trip to see a favorite band play at a venue that’s off the beaten track.

2. Intuitive and Emotionally Intelligent

People who have a strong Gemini influence tend to be cerebral and in their heads, but this can often be leveraged into better understanding others in an intuitive way. Ruled by messenger Mercury, the planet of communication, they’re so socially adept that they’re often able to read between the lines in conversations, and they find it easy to nurture an intellectual connection with others. Similarly, people who have a lot of Cancer in their birth chart are instinctual, emotionally aware, and capable of understanding others on a heartfelt level. This is owed to their ruler, the moon, which oversees instincts, nurturing, and emotions.

3. Enthusiastic and Adventurous

When you think of months that lend themselves to getting out into the world and exploring outside of your comfort zone, June is one of the top moments that come to mind. So it makes sense that June-born people are animated, energetic, and upbeat about life. Gemini brings the influence of Mercury, which rules travel, to the mix, and Cancer is often passionate about spreading their wings and checking out new sights as a cardinal sign.

4. Clever and Entertaining

Although June-born people may not be innately vying for the spotlight, they might naturally land there, because they’re witty, engaging, and have a way with words. This might be the result of their supercommunicator Gemini wiring and/or compassionate, ingratiatingly funny Cancer influence. This stands to reason, given that the Summer Equinox-hosting month is one of the top times of year for seeking out and soaking up entertainment, whether it’s a theatrical event at your favorite city venue or a jazz festival at a nearby park.

1970 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 56 Years Ago Today

Sat, 02/28/2026 - 8:06pm

Simon & Garfunkel delivered a number of hits that captured the spirit of a generation and shaped the sound of modern folk rock.

56 years ago today, the highly influential American duo introduced one of the defining anthems of the ‘70s, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” which peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, dominated the chart for six weeks and was the top song on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1970.

The release of the gospel-influenced pop ballad earned them multiple recognitions, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 13th Annual Grammy Awards, further cementing its legacy in music history.

Written by Paul Simon, it was part of the duo’s fifth and final studio album, Bridge Over Troubled Water, which also featured their most successful single.

Due to its massive global popularity, Simon & Garfunkel’s song has been covered by music legends such as Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley.

In a report mentioned by BBC, Simon described “Bridge Over Troubled Water” as his “greatest song” and even compared it to a classic hit of The Beatles, calling it his “Yesterday.”

“I have no idea where it came from,” the singer-songwriter mentioned in the 2011 documentary The Harmony Game, as cited by the publication, adding, “It just came, all of a sudden… I remember thinking. This is considerably better than I usually write.”

The iconic hit was not simply the product of a whim; it was inspired by the Swan Silvertones’ rendition of "Mary Don't You Weep”, which Simon listened to repeatedly while the duo worked on their album in the spring of 1969.

It was the line “I’ll be your bridge over deep water…” that moved him and became the song’s central idea.

“Every time I came home, I put that record on, so it was in my mind. I started to go to gospel chord changes, and took the melody even further,” Simon shared, as cited by Louder Sound. “Then there was one song where the lead singer was scatting, and he shouted out: ‘I’ll be your bridge over deep water/If you trust in my name.’ And, well, I guess I stole it.”

In 2020, marking the 50th anniversary of their iconic masterpiece, they released a digital EP through Legacy Recordings featuring four early live versions of songs from Simon & Garfunkel’s then-upcoming fifth studio album.

This gave fans a rare glimpse of the journey and also showcased the recorded performance during the sold-out show at Carnegie Hall in 1969.

Walsh, who has worked closely on many missing persons cases, said the fact that Savannah's mom hadn't been found makes it "very much a unique case." Additionally, he noted that not many seniors go missing, and if they do, they typically wander off or aren't able to navigate back home after driving somewhere.

"The way this investigation has ebbed and flowed, it’s gone from hot, to cold, to hot [and] back to cold again," Walsh explained. "Our hope is that Nancy is found alive [and] that she is brought home and reunited with her family."

A newly released police report from the scene ofAnne Burrell's death disclosed that paramedics did not attempt to revive her with Narcan.

According to TMZ, Burrell was already deceased when paramedics arrived at the scene. Naloxone, which is sold under the name Narcan, is a drug that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose if administered in time.

Burrell's husband, Stuart Claxton, discovered her lying face up on the shower floor in the bathroom of their home on June, 17, 2025. Burrell was pronounced dead by emergency responders shortly after Claxton found her body.

Claxton reportedly told officers that his wife had, "never attempted suicide in the past," had "never talked about it," and hadn’t shown "any signs that she would do something like this."

In a statement to Us Weekly after her death, Burrell's family said, "Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered. Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal."

Given the movie's high box office earnings, series creator and Scream 7 director Kevin Williamson is hinting there's some tentative ideas in the work for a prospective Scream 8, as reported by Variety.

As is customary in Hollywood, Williamson specifically said the potential for Scream 8 depends entirely on the success of Scream 7, indicating whether fans still wish to see additional installments of the franchise.

"If this film is successful and there's an audience for it, you know we'll make it because 1, I think the studio would like to make it, and 2, we the people who make these movies would make it because... they're a blast to make and they're so much fun," Williamson said.

Debuting in theaters on February 27, Scream 7 enjoyed the highest-opening week for the franchise, making a significant splash at the box office. In spite of its impressive financial performance, the film has earned mixed to negative reviews from fans and critics of the franchise.

As of yet, there's no word yet on when or if Scream 8 is officially a go at Paramount. As with its previous installments, however, multiple cast and crew members have weighed in their thoughts on a potential Scream 8, hinting a possible sequel somewhere down the road.

"I think everyone should want to do another Scream," original Scream star Courtney Cox, who has returned for every subsequent sequel, shared. "It’s fun and it’s great. I don’t think I can make the next one, but maybe we’ll see.”

Aside from Cox, it's currently not known who else might return for a Scream sequel, although it's a safe bet that Neve Campbell would return for any potential follow-up currently in the works.
