Billie Eilish Exploring Acting Debut in Film Adaptation of Iconic 1963 Novel About Mental Health
Okay, Billie Eilish fans, start holding your breath or wishing on stars or whatever magical ritual works for you! It's being reported that the Oscar-winning songwriter is, according to Deadline, in "advanced talks" to make her film acting debut in an adaptation of The Bell Jar, the only novel written by poet Sylvia Plath.
The Bell Jar, originally published in 1963, is Plath's semi-autobiographical book. Set in the 1950s, it chronicles young Esther Greenwood’s dark descent into mental illness, and her hospitalization and subsequent recovery. Plath tells Greenwood's story using her usual dark wit and dry humor, as well as her own personal experiences with depression and suicidal ideation. On an often-bleak and painful psychological journey, Greenwood (and Plath) questions identity, patriarchy, and the many societal pressures, particularly on women, in the 1950s.
Deadline also reports that Eilish will play the lead.
This book tackles very emotional and complicated material, and taking on the role would require a lead who is impassioned and reflective. Someone like, well, Billie Eilish. I mean, if she can put the same beautiful spell on this role that she does with her music, it'll crush.
Journalist Jeff Sneider, who publishes The InSneider newsletter, also added to The Bell Jar / Billie Eilish chatter.
UPDATE: I'm told that Billie Eilish will, in fact, take on the lead role of Esther in THE BELL JAR. I've updated the story online... https://t.co/LxsiQkQb0F
— Jeff Sneider (@TheInSneider) March 11, 2026 View this post on InstagramTo make this movie news even more exciting, Deadline is also reporting that filmmaker Sarah Polley (Women Talking, Away from Her) is "attached to direct the feature," as well as write the script. Sylvia Plath, Billie Eilish, Sarah Polley = a gloriously feminist trifecta.
In 1979, there was previous film adaptation of the book, in which actor Marilyn Hassett (The Other Side of the Mountain) starred as Esther Greenwood.
1971 Timeless Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 55 Years Ago Today
In 1971, The Temptations delivered one of the most memorable songs of their legendary career.
Their single, "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" became a massive success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart. The dreamy ballad, released in early 1971, marked the group's third No. 1 pop hit and remains one of the most recognizable songs in Motown history.
Written by the legendary Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, the track was featured on the Temptations' album Sky's the Limit. Known for its lush orchestration and tender storytelling, the song centers on a narrator who fantasizes about a perfect life with the woman he loves, only to reveal that the romance exists entirely in his dreams.
"Whatever their walk of life, people can identify with that," said Temptations member and singer Otis Williams told The Guardianin 2012 "We really didn't think much of it at first, though, certainly not in the sense of: 'Wow! This is going to be a hit.' But then we recorded it, and Norman added the orchestrations and the strings and horn arrangements. After that, I thought: 'This is spectacular.'"
The song is also notable for marking the final Temptations single to feature original members Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams, both of whom soon left the group shortly after the recording. Kendricks' signature falsetto lead vocal helped give the song its distinctive emotional pull.
"Otis and Eddie [Kendricks] were having big disagreements," said guitarist Eddie "Chank" Willis. "Otis was the band leader, so Eddie left the building and came back on his own to finish the vocal after Otis had gone. He put everything he had into it."
Released during a period when the Temptations were experimenting with psychedelic soul, "Just My Imagination" stood out for its return to the group's earlier romantic style. The result was a timeless ballad that resonated with fans across generations.
More than five decades later, the song remains a cornerstone of the Temptations' catalog and a defining moment in the legacy of Motown Records, continuing to capture listeners with its heartfelt lyrics and unforgettable melody.

Legendary ’80s Star Says ‘Rodent Issue’ Led to $60K Rent Standoff and Eviction
Mickey Rourke is speaking out after losing his Los Angeles apartment in a legal battle with his landlord, claiming serious maintenance problems—including a rodent infestation—made the living conditions unbearable.
The 73-year-old actor and boxing legend recently had a judge rule in favor of his landlord, ordering that he vacate the property after falling behind on rent. According to court filings, Rourke owed roughly $60,000 before the dispute reached a breaking point.
But the actor said there’s more to the story. Rourke told TMZ on Wednesday, March 11 that his decision to stop paying rent was tied directly to ongoing problems inside the apartment that he claims were never properly fixed. "The reason I stopped paying rent was because the living conditions in the apartment had become unacceptable," he said, explaining that he repeatedly raised concerns with management.
Among the most troubling issues, Rourke says, was a persistent rodent problem that never seemed to go away. "There were ongoing rodent issues that required multiple visits but were never fully resolved, and the bathroom and plumbing frequently did not work," he added to the outlet. According to the actor, requests for repairs were made several times, but he says the problems continued and "basic maintenance was never properly handled."
Rourke says refusing to pay rent wasn’t something he took lightly. "Withholding rent was not a decision I made lightly. I simply could not continue paying for an apartment that was in such poor condition after so many attempts to have these issues corrected."

Court records obtained by TMZ indicate that the judge ultimately sided with the landlord and ordered Rourke to vacate the property.
The housing drama surrounding the veteran star has been ongoing for months. Earlier this year, Rourke was reportedly staying in a West Hollywood hotel with his dog after leaving the apartment. Around the same time, a GoFundMe campaign surfaced online claiming to raise money to help him avoid eviction—something the actor quickly distanced himself from.
“I’d rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger,” the Sin City actor said in a previous Instagram video. His manager, however, lamented that Rourke knew about the campaign and approved it. He vowed that the money would be returned to the original donors.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Detail ‘No One Is Talking About,’ According to Retired FBI Agent
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing going on six weeks after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and a retired FBI agent recently pointed out a detail about the case that "no one is talking about."
On Wednesday, March 11, Jennifer Coffindaffer, a retired FBI special agent, took to X with a valid observation about the 84-year-old’s investigation.
"Another point no one seems to be talking about: There is a kidnapper (at least 1) and a potential murderer (maybe more) on the streets," she began her update. "Who will be their next target? Yes, this seems to be [a] very targeted abduction (like the Idaho murders), but you still have an individual(s) capable of extreme violence on the loose."
Coffindaffer continued, "Finding Nancy alive was objective 1. Objective 2 was getting an abductor (and likely murderer) off the streets. Will this person(s) strike again? This is a big issue. Not trying to raise hysteria, just saying that protecting the community seems to be lost in the hubbub. "
View this post on InstagramTo conclude her thoughts on the topic, the ex-FBI agent shared her opinion on what the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) should do next.
"[Law enforcement] needs to have a brief presser just to let the public know if there are any more details they can offer so the public can assist in terms of a vehicle/time parameters/any other important days to be aware of," Coffindaffer stressed. "The public is one of LE's best tools when it comes to solving who took Nancy."
One day before, the ex-FBI agent speculated about the PCSD being "close to an arrest."
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on Jan. 31, with the PCSD officially launching its search on Feb. 1.

Psychologist Says These Are the 7 Habits To Avoid With Your Adult Child—and Why They Can Damage Your Relationship
The days felt long, but the years were—in the end—too short. It's completely normal if you feel that way about your now-adult child, who you could have sworn ditched diapers yesterday.
"Many parents struggle [in relationships with adult children] because their caregiving instincts are deeply wired. For years, their role was to guide, protect and sometimes correct," explains Dr. Ernesto Lira de la Rosa, Ph.D., a psychologist and Hope for Depression Research Foundation media advisor. "That does not just switch off when a child becomes an adult. There is also an emotional component. Parents may feel anxious about letting go, worried about their child’s well-being, or unsure how to stay connected without being as involved."
That said, he highlights that it's crucial for parents to gently hit the "let go" switch to avoid or break certain habits that can damage a relationship with an adult child.
"Adult children are at a different developmental stage," he points out. "They are building autonomy, identity and independence. When parents continue patterns that feel controlling or dismissive, even if well-intentioned, it can create distance, resentment or emotional shutdown."
Distance from an adult child can be devastating. After all, as Dr. Lira de la Rosa reminds us, the parent-child relationship is one of the longest we will ever have.
"What often gets overlooked is that the relationship is supposed to evolve," he adds. "What worked when your child was 8 rarely works when they are 28."
He has a point. Evolution and change can be scary—but your growth as a parent will benefit you, your adult child and the bond you've built over the decades. Understanding how certain behaviors can pose issues is an important early step. Dr. Lira de la Rosa walks us through the seven habits to avoid with your adult children and why they are damaging to your relationship.
Related: 9 Things Boomers Do That Drive Their Adult Children Away, Psychologists Reveal
What Are the Most Common Issues Between Parents and Their Adult Children?Dr. Lira de la Rosa explains that many of the issues between parents and adult children stem from an inability for one or both sides to shift their expectations, communication, boundaries and approach to their relationship.
- Mismatch in expectation. He shares that this issue is one of the most common he hears from parents and adult children. "Parents may still see their child through the lens of who they were growing up, while the adult child is trying to be seen as capable and self-directed, which can create tension," he says.
- Communication breakdowns. Communication is a pillar of strong relationships, but he says it often stays stagnant as adult children grow, leading to regression and strife. "Many families fall back into old roles during interactions," he explains. "An adult child may suddenly feel like a teenager again when visiting home, and parents may slip into lecturing or problem-solving mode without realizing it."
- Boundary encroachment. Dr. Lira de la Rosa describes this pain point as a "major theme" in fractured relationships between parents and adult kids. "Questions about finances, relationships, living choices or career paths can quickly become emotionally loaded," he states. "Often, these conflicts are not really about the specific topic."
- Love underneath the friction. Honestly? Many parents who are struggling with their relationships with adult kids are actually super loving, and vice versa. "Most parents are acting from concern, and most adult children still want connection," he reports. "However, when the relationship does not evolve alongside the child’s development, good intentions can still lead to strain."

7 Habits To Avoid With Your Adult Child, According to a Psychologist1. Giving unsolicited adviceHonestly, you're probably not surprised to see unsolicited advice here. It's one of the most well-known habits that can damage relationships with an adult child. Yet, even if you hated it when your own parents doled out advice you didn't ask for, you may find yourself doing it yourself. This habit comes from a place of love, but Dr. Lira de la Rosa urges parents to avoid it with their adult children.
"Many parents offer advice as a way of caring, but adult children often experience it as a lack of trust in their judgment," he explains. "Over time, constant advice can make conversations feel one-sided and can lead adult children to share less about their lives. When advice is only given when asked for, it tends to land much better."
2. Treating them like they are still a kidMaking this behavior a habit can have a profoundly damaging effect on your relationship with a grown child. Dr. Lira de la Rosa shares that using a condescending tone, reminding them of past mistakes or making decisions for them are all ways parents treat adult children, and describes these habits as "deeply invalidating."
"Adult children are especially sensitive to moments that make them feel 'put back' into a younger role," he says. "This habit can quietly erode respect on both sides of the relationship."
3. Overstepping boundaries around personal choicesDr. Lira de la Rosa urges parents to avoid excessive comments on an adult child's relationships, finances, parenting style or career path. He notes conversations on these topics often cross lines that "belong to the adult child [and] can create defensiveness."
"Even when parents disagree with a choice, repeated intrusion often pushes adult children further away rather than closer," he reports.
4. Using guilt to maintain closenessAs tempting as it is to guilt-trip an adult child, avoid this unwanted family vacation.
"Statements that imply obligation, such as highlighting sacrifices or expressing hurt when the adult child prioritizes their own life, can create emotional pressure," Dr. Lira de la Rosa explains. "Guilt may produce short-term compliance, but it often builds long-term resentment and emotional distance."
5. Dismissing their stress or life challengesDr. Lira de la Rosa is begging parents not to compare generations or minimize a grown child's struggles.
"When adult children feel their experiences are brushed off, they are less likely to open up in the future," he notes. "Validation does not mean agreement. Rather, it means acknowledging that their experience is real to them."
6. Expecting constant access or immediate responsesWe often talk about how younger generations don't understand what it was like to wait online for the grocery store, hail a cab or deal with dial-up Internet. Yet the desire for on-demand everything knows no generational bounds.
"With adult children building careers, relationships and families of their own, availability naturally shifts," Dr. Lira de la Rosa says. "Parents who expect the same level of access they once had may unintentionally put pressure on themselves. This can make communication feel like an obligation instead of something the adult child looks forward to."
7. Avoiding necessary relationship updatesDr. Lira de la Rosa explains that sometimes it's less about what parents do than about what they don't do: adjust.
"Holding on to outdated roles and communication patterns keeps the relationship stuck," he notes. "When parents do not intentionally shift toward a more adult-to-adult dynamic, both sides can feel misunderstood."
Related:10 Phrases To Avoid With Your Adult Kids To Transform Your Relationship, According to Psychologists
Questions are an underrated tool in fostering healthier relationships.
"I often recommend that parents practice asking more than telling," Dr. Lira de la Rosa shares. "Curiosity communicates respect and keeps conversations open. When adult children feel genuinely heard, they are far more likely to seek out their parents’ perspectives on their own."
2. Explicitly acknowledge their adulthoodDr. Lira de la Rosa notes that simple language and behavioral shifts go a long way in preserving (and even improving) your bond with an adult child.
"Statements that communicate trust in their decision-making help reset the tone of the relationship," he explains. "Psychologically, feeling seen as competent strengthens the connection rather than weakening parental influence."
3. Focus on connection, not controlDr. Lira de la Rosa shares that, when your child has grown, it's time to retire from "management."
"The goal in this stage of parenting is no longer management," he states. "It is relationship maintenance. Prioritizing warmth, shared experiences and emotional availability helps preserve closeness over time. Parents who make this shift often find that their adult children stay more engaged and communicative."

1968 ‘Magnetic’ Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 58 Years Ago Today
Barbra Streisand can do it all: attract every award under the sun, hit high notes from the back of a speeding tugboat, and make several months pregnant look glamorous in a wedding dress.
A prime example of her versatility came in 1968, when she made her "magnetic," "marvelous," and "magnificent" big-screen debut in William Wyler’s Funny Girl.
View this post on InstagramA classic musical, Funny Girltells the story of Ziefield Follies star Fanny Brice, whose meteoric rise to fame in the early 1900s coincided with a turbulent relationship with con-man Nick Arnstein. Brice’s real-life narrative, which had already brought down the house on Broadway, was the source material for a smash hit that would become one of the greatest musicals of all time.
Released in September 1968, the film camped out at No. 1 on the box-office charts for weeks and weeks. A top performer for its release year, it also ranked as the top-grossing film of 1969 in the U.S. with $11,096,561, per IMDb. It was so good that, friends, months later in March1969, the dang thing returned to No. 1 in its 19th week of release, per Variety.
The film, directed by William Wyler (Roman Holiday, Ben-Hur) and written by Isobel Lennart (Meet Me in Las Vegas), was nominated for eight Academy Awards, with its leading star winning Best Actress in 1969. The soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy. And the stage musical, which also starred Streisand, received eight nominations at the 18th Tony Awards.
In 2024, Streisand sat down with Criterion to reflect on her time playing Fanny Brice on the big screen. The interview is wide-ranging, with the Star Is Born actress taking audiences behind the scenes. In addition to sharing that her dog, Sadie, was on the train with her lifelong best friend, she dropped the following interesting tidbit.
“Did you notice the number on the tugboats?” she asks about the film’s iconic boat scene, in which she wears a bright orange dress and carries a bouquet of flowers. “I didn’t until I saw it in the dailies. It’s 24, my lucky number, since I was born on the 24th. Can you imagine?”
Catch that lucky scene and rest of Funny Girl on Prime Video.
An Etiquette Expert Is Begging You to Never, Ever Show Up to a Party at This Time
We’ve all heard the term “fashionably late” when it comes to social functions. No one wants to arrive at a gathering too early and hover anxiously around the host, or interrupt them as they put the final touches on the decor. But when it comes to arriving late to a party, it can be difficult to discern what an acceptable arrival time is. Should you follow the start time listed on your invitation as closely as possible, or hold off until more people have arrived?
Although every party host’s expectations are bound to be different, etiquette expert Lisa Mirza Grotts of Golden Rules Gal warns that it’s often better to be safe than sorry when it comes to planning your arrival time. As she puts it, being too “fashionably late” isn’t an indicator of your busy social life. Instead, it’s often plain disruptive.
“Arriving late to a party isn’t a grand entrance,” Grotts says. “It’s a gamble, impolite and poor timing.”
Still, you might find yourself wondering what a good rule of thumb is for event timing. At what point should you notify the host that you’ll be late? If you insist on being fashionably late, exactly how late can you be without being rude? And what’s the ideal arrival time to aim for in the first place?
Below, an etiquette expert answers all the questions you might have about party arrival timing. Find out if you've been showing up at the right time!
Related: An Etiquette Expert Is Begging People To Think Twice About This Common Social Habit
As a rule of thumb, it’s better to arrive early and wait for the party’s official start time than to show up long after your fellow guests have already made themselves comfortable. That being said, it’s best to avoid showing up before the host has said the party will start unless you’ve been specifically invited to do so.
“A good guest honors the host’s rhythm, not their own watch,” Grotts says. “If you must, drive around the block until the set time.”

What Arrival Time Should You Shoot For?If you’re aiming to be on your best behavior, being as punctual as possible is key.
“There’s a fine line between fashionably late and rudely disruptive,” Grotts notes. “Respect the invitation as much as you’d want your own time to be respected.”
Related: 7 Things You Should Hide Before Guests Come Over, According to Home-Staging Experts
Your “fashionably late” window depends on the exact event you’re going to. For instance, Evite professionals note that guests at gatherings like dinner parties should arrive within 15 minutes of the stated start time, while the arrival time for larger parties or New Year’s gatherings is more flexible. However, when in doubt, Grotts recommends showing up slightly earlier than you think just to be safe.
“Remember it this way: Behave a little better than what is asked of you,” she says. “To be fashionably late should be stylishly timed, not selfishly timed.”

How Late Is Too Late?Grotts recommends letting your host know if you’ll be more than 30 minutes late to the party, since “anything beyond that is inconsiderate.”
When in doubt, she says, “reply early, arrive graciously.”
“One of my favorite memes [is]: An invite is a gift,” Grotts adds .”Responding on time is how you unwrap it!”

Kellie Gerardi Gets Real About Being a 'Generally Brave Person' and Still 'Very Scared' Through Her IVF Journey
Kellie Gerardi has built a reputation on resiliency. As a commercial astronaut and social media creator, she's certainly no stranger to pushing boundaries—from exploring the edges of outer space to exposing the realities of motherhood with millions online. But in a recent Instagram post, Gerardi divulged a different challenge: the emotional complexity of navigating her IVF journey and the uncertainty of her high-risk pregnancy.
In the candid post, Gerardi reflected on a realization that being brave doesn't necessarily mean being fearless. She reminded followers that it's possible to be "a generally brave person and still get very scared." The post followed a previous video in which she talked about needing to schedule her upcoming delivery (which will be her daughter's birthday), which she called "exhilarating and nerve-wracking and surreal."
"Deep breaths," she wrote. "Just sharing this to give some more insight into how my head is spinning because, even though I posted a very lighthearted Reel about it, I'm actually panicking about it. It's just…. a lot."
She shared her anxieties about scheduling her delivery too late and missing the window in which she can safely get an epidural or a C-section.
"I'm scared of having full control over the plan and scared of having no control over the plan," she continued. "And even though I've been waiting eight years for this moment, I'm scared that everything is happening in a month."
View this post on InstagramGerardi has had a long and difficult fertility journey. The astronaut has been transparent about experiencing secondary infertility and the heartbreak of losing a pregnancy after a previous round of IVF. Sharing her story publicly hasn't always been easy, but it's become an important way for her to process the experience and connect with others facing similar struggles.
While the number of babies born from IVF has been increasing—rising from 91,771 in 2022 to 95,860 in the latest American Society for Reproductive Medicine data, and accounting for 2.6 percent of births in the United States—there are still so many stigmas surrounding IVF, infertility, and miscarriages, which many people feel pressured to keep private.
By documenting her journey in real time, Gerardi hopes to help people unpack the deep-seated emotional swings that can come with IVF, loss, and pregnancy after loss. Even routine milestones can feel loaded with pressure when so much effort, hope, and vulnerability have gone into getting there.
Gerardi's willingness to talk openly about her experience has resonated strongly with her audience. Over the past several years, she has built a community around sharing both the triumphs and the painful realities of trying to grow her family—all while shattering the glass ceiling for women in STEM.
Her honesty highlights something that too often goes unspoken in conversations about fertility: Strength and fear frequently coexist. After all, courage isn't the absence of fear. Sometimes it's forging forward in spite of it.
Miranda Lambert Says Goodbye to the ‘Big House,’ Her Beloved Texas Childhood Home — See the Photos
A special piece of Miranda Lambert’s history has hit the Texas market, a two-residence compound that brings together the 42-year-old country star’s childhood home and the neighboring property that she purchased when her music career began to take shape.
According to realtor.com, the stunning Lindale estate, listed by Lee Trowbridge of Compass on February 7, is priced at $1.59 million and includes a range of amenities, from a metal warehouse to a 100-yard shooting range and a private, well-stocked pond.
Nestled in a quiet East Texas setting, the home that helped shape Lambert, affectionately referred to as “The Big House,” sits adjacent to the property known as “The Pink House,” which she still owns and moved into after landing her first major record deal. The remainder of the compound is owned by Lambert’s parents, Beverly and Rick Lambert.
Miranda Lambert Lived in the ‘Big House’ From Ages 14-21Letting go of both dwellings will serve as a major milestone for Lambert and her family, who made the location their primary home for nearly 30 years. The Grammy award-winning country star spent her teenage years at “The Big House” before taking up residence in the “Pink House” at age 21. Though she has been living in Nashville in recent years.
“Until their transition out of the home about a year ago, the property served as the Lambert family home,” Trowbridge confirmed, according to Mansion Global, of the singer's parents. “During their time living there, the property was a home to many, including those who needed a helping hand or a place to land.”
The sprawling compound, spanning nearly 25 acres, includes "covered and open outdoor living areas, an outdoor kitchen, a shop with a bathroom installed, and a brick courtyard," enough to host large gatherings.
The Houses Sit On Nearly 25-Acres of Land That Includes Mature TreesInside the main house, measuring 4,643 square feet, there are four bedrooms and five bathrooms that offer a rustic charm. Pictures show dark hardwood flooring, bright white textured walls, and large windows with luscious pond views. Cabinets are built-in throughout the home, offering plenty of space to store books or personal items.
“Light-filled living spaces connect naturally to porches, decks, and courtyard areas, offering comfortable transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces," the listing states, further detailing the property. "Bedrooms are well-proportioned, and the primary bathroom includes a soaking tub positioned near windows that bring in natural light and views of the landscape.”
One of Miranda Lambert’s Biggest Hits Had Her Reflecting he Memories of Her ChildhoodLambert’s childhood home, first bought as a fixer-upper, found her connection with what would become one of her biggest hit songs, “The House That Built Me.” She has spoken about the home in previous interviews. During one sit-down conversation with theAssociated Press, and with her parents beside her, the singer/songwriter, who experienced homelessness at the age of six, before the family found the house, recalled her feelings of having gone through hardship early on.
"It is a sad story, but it's also a really happy story as it also built our family back," she added. "It made us stronger than ever."
Beverly added, “We didn’t know it at the time, but it was the house that built us all.”

Your Quick ‘Virgin River’ Season 7 Refresher Before the Premiere
Only a few more hours before we can binge watch Season 7 of Virgin River, which will hit Netflix on Thursday, March 12, at 3 a.m. ET.
While the time between seasons is shorter than some series, many of us still need a refresher on what happened in season 6 of the series before we hit "play" on the new season. Here are a few key points to recall from Season 6 of Virgin River.
What to Remember Ahead of the Season 7 Premiere of Virgin RiverMel and Jack said, "I do." Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin HendersonNetflix
Mel and Jack finally tied the knot! After all the ups and downs, the couple persevered and the two exchanged vows at the end of Season 6.
Mel met a young woman named Marley (Rachel Drance) who was going to give her unborn child away to a local couple. The day after her wedding, Mel got a call from Marley, who told her that the couple may be backing out of the adoption. Marley then asked if Jack and Mel would adopt her child.
Mel and Jack may start a family sooner than they thoughtEarlier in season 6, Mel had met Marley (Rachel Drance), a young pregnant women, who was going to give her baby up to a local couple, but the day after their wedding, Mel received a call from Marley saying the couple may not be adopting her baby after all and would she and Jack consider being the baby's parents?

Mel and Jack won't be the only new parents in town Kai Bradbury, Sarah DugdaleNetflix
If their adoption is successful, Mel and Jack won't be the only new parents in Virgin River. Lizzie seems ready to burst. The two are prepping to be first time parents and while they have the support of their loved ones, the two young adults still seem a little unprepared for parenthood.
Preacher was on trial for murder Colin Lawrence, Kandyse McClureIn the early seasons of the series, Preacher (Colin Lawrence) helped Paige (Lexa Doig) bury the body of her abusive and manipulatuve ex-husband, whom she killed in self defense. When the body was uncovered after the fires, Preacher was arrested for murder and went on trial. Brie (Zibby Allen) worked a deal or two that eventually got Preacher off with community service.

Doc's medical license is suspended and his clinic is in jeopardy Tim MathesonPhoto credit: Courtesy of Netflix
When Doc (Time Matheson) performed a risky medical procedure in the field and then later questioned about at the hospital, his medical license is suspended and the future of his cliinic is in jeopardy. He later learns that a big medical conglomerate is interested in expanding into Virgin River with an eye on his clinic so Doc begins to prepare for some legal battles ahead.
Brady got conned Elise Gatien, Ben HollingsworthAt the end of Season 6, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) learned that Lark (Elise Gatien) had left the wedding, checked out of the B&B, quit her job, and was planning to leave town. When he grabbed his phone to call her, he saw a notice on his phone that his account had been emptied.
We learned earlier in the season that the father of Lark's child is none other than Jimmy (Ian Tracey), who has a contentious relationship, at best, with Brady. Jimmy had been using Lark to get back at Brady. Brie discovered this info which led to Brady breaking up with Lark but then they got back together when Lark told him she really did love him. When Lark heard Brady confess to Brie that he would always love her regardless of who else he loved in the future, this did not make Lark happy and spurned her into action.
Questions remaind about CharmaineIn the final scene of Season 6, Jack goes to check in on Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), who was a no-show at their wedding and was not answering any of Mel's texts and whose calls were going straight to voicemail. Upon arriving at her house, Jack found the door was slightly ajar. As he entered, it looked liked there might have been a struggle and we're left with seeing Jack's stunned face as he opens the door to the nursery. Is Charmaine there? Are the twins there? Remember, Charmaine was in the process of getting a restraining order against Calvin (David Cubitt), the twins' biological father.
Season 7 of Virgin River premieres on Thursday, March 12 on Netflix, with new episodes dropping at 3 a.m. ET.
Disney Appoints New Parks and Cruises Chief as Josh D’Amaro Prepares for CEO Role
While the spotlight at The Walt Disney Company has largely been on the transition in the executive suite, a sweeping reorganization is officially taking place at the helm of the brand’s most tangible experiences.
On March 11, Disney announced a new roster of leaders for its Disney Experiences division—the powerhouse arm responsible for theme parks, the rapidly growing cruise fleet and Walt Disney Imagineering. Leading this new era is Thomas Mazloum, who has been named Chairman, Disney Experiences, succeeding Josh D’Amaro as D’Amaro prepares to step into his new role as Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company.
The promotion of Mazloum comes at a pivotal moment as the company navigates what D’Amaro describes as an “unprecedented period of growth for Disney Experiences.” Mazloum, a hospitality veteran with a background in European luxury hotels and a former tenure as COO of Crystal Cruise Line, is widely credited with developing the strategic plan that doubled the size of the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

The leadership shift also brings Jill Estorino back to the company’s original destination as she is named President, Disneyland Resort. These transitions are set to begin in the coming weeks, with all roles officially becoming effective on March 18, 2026. Fans like @targetbabefinds have started spotting sweatshirts inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas at Target stores across the U.S.
Target Is Leaning Into the ACOTAR Obsession View this post on InstagramThe bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series, often abbreviated by ACOTAR by fans, has become one of the defining books of the romantasy genre. Blending fantasy with romance, drama and plenty of addictive plot twists, the series has exploded in popularity thanks in part to BookTok.
Now Target has dropped a small collection of ACOTAR-inspired sweatshirts that fans are spotting in stores.
According to videos circulating on TikTok and Facebook, shoppers have found multiple designs referencing the A Court of Thorns and Roses universe. One navy blue pullover reads "Velaris," the beloved city in the series. Another gray sweatshirt reads "Property of Rhysand," a reference to one of the most popular characters in the books.
There's also a cream-colored design that reads "House of Wind Book Club," a playful nod to one of the iconic locations in A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Why Target Shoppers Are So ExcitedPart of the buzz is that the sweatshirts appear to be in-store discoveries for now. Shoppers say they've found them while browsing Target stores, but online listings haven't surfaced widely yet.
That makes the sweatshirts feel like a true Target find, especially for fans who love stumbling across unexpected bookish merch during a casual shopping trip.
The cozy designs also fit perfectly with the aesthetic many readers associate with the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Oversized sweatshirts, comfy reading nooks and a stack of fantasy novels are basically the unofficial uniform of BookTok.
With the popularity of A Court of Thorns and Roses continuing to grow—and a potential screen adaptation often rumored—the fandom doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

‘80s Screen Legend, 70, Who Ditched Hollywood Is a Gray-Haired Goddess in Rare Red Carpet Appearance
Debra Winger was one of the most famous actresses of her generation, but she rarely hits the red carpet these days.
The iconic actress, 70, who is known for roles in films like An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, and Urban Cowboy, became a mainstay of the film industry back in the ’80s. She has only taken on occasional roles in more recent years, but blew fans away with an outstanding performance as Anne Hathaway‘s mother in the 2008 film Rachel Getting Married. Winger frequently shares that she doesn’t consider herself part of the Hollywood scene, but when we get a glance of the lovely star out and about, we love to embrace it. Winger appeared at the "Festival De La Cinémathèque" photocall this week in Paris, France, and looked absolutely stunning with full gray hair.

Did Debra Winger and Shirley MacLaine Get Along on Terms of Endearment? One of Winger’s most iconic roles was in 1983’s Terms of Endearment alongside Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson. In a recent interview, the film’s director, James L. Brooks, reflected on the tense set of the beloved film, which chronicled the tumultuous relationship between a mother and daughter throughout the decades.
Brooks told PEOPLE that the film’s set felt like “when mom and dad are fighting, and that kind of frozen feeling you get in the pit of your stomach that you can do very little about it… it was a little like that.”
MacLaine and Winger didn’t get along, but the film ultimately triumphed, earning critical acclaim and a place in the hearts of film fans forever.
Take a look at one of Winger's memorable scenes from the film:
Did Debra Winger Win an Oscar for Terms of Endearment? While Nicholson, MacLaine, and Brooks took home statues for Terms, Winger didn't.
“At the end, there was enormous grace on Debra’s part, because we went to the Oscars,” Brooks reflected. “Everybody came home with an Oscar except Debra.”
Brooks went on to say that “People were posing with their Oscars, and she (Debra) sat there posing with an imaginary one,” he recalled. “So she had great grace at the end of it, but for a while there it was as rocky as it gets.”

'Vampire Diaries' Co-Stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley Make Rare Appearance Together
Fans are freaking out over this unplanned Vampire Diaries reunion that happened on Wednesday.
According to reports and a photo shared on social media, The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley were seen hanging out together by fans at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris. Pop Base, a popular social media and pop culture news account, shared the picture on Wednesday morning.
Dobrev stunned in a black short-sleeve crop top and a pair of black pants under a brown trench coat. She accessorized her look with a pair of black sunglasses and a black leather purse. Meanwhile, Wesley is seen posing next to his former co-star wearing a white t-shirt, a dark wash pair of jeans, a navy blue baseball cap and a navy blue zip-up jacket.
The duo worked together on The CW Network's The Vampire Diaries for a total of eight years, spanning the show's run from its premiere in 2009 until its conclusion in 2017. Dobrev portrayed the main character, Elena Gilbert, while Welsey played Stefan Salvatore.

— Pop Base (@PopBase) March 11, 2026The last time Dobrev and Wesley were seen together publicly was in September 2024, when the duo had dinner in New York City with a couple of friends. Seperate from Wednesday's photos, the two actors have been attending multiple Paris Fashion Week events over the past few days. The 37-year-old actress was photographed at the Chloé Women's Wear Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show on Thursday, while Wesley and his fiancée, Natalie Kuckenburg, attended the Elie Saab Women's Wear Fall/Winter 2026–2027 show over the weekend.
Wesley even shared the photos from Fashion Week on his Instagram on Monday, writing the simple caption, "🇫🇷 Paris."
View this post on InstagramThough the two are close friends now, for the first five months of filming The Vampire Diaries in 2009, it was known that Dobrev and Wesley did not get along.
"Long story short, I was taking the role very seriously. She was taking the role very seriously. We were all young actors, and we could tell this was gonna be special," Wesley told Podcrush back in September 2025. "We just conflicted, not about our personalities offscreen, it was more onscreen. The way in which she wanted to do a scene was not the way in which I wanted to do a scene."
They later became very close friends and have maintained a strong friendship long after the show ended. Due to their great on-screen chemistry in The Vampire Diaries, fans speculated about a real-life romance between Dobrev and Wesley, but the actress famously dated her other Vampire Diaries costar, Ian Somerhalder, from 2010 to 2013.
The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural drama that follows Elena Gilbert (Dobrev), who falls in love with centuries-old vampire brothers Stefan (Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Somerhalder) in the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. It follows their love triangle and the town's hidden supernatural dangers, including witches, werewolves and other vampires. Other cast members included Candice King, Kat Graham, Zach Roeig, Michael Trevino and Matthew Davis.
The Vampire Diaries can be streamed on Peacock, HBO Max and Hulu.

Sheryl Lee Ralph Says Timothée Chalamet Was 'Mad at His Mother' When Making Controversial Ballet and Opera Comments
Sheryl Lee Ralph is weighing in on the recent controversy with Timothée Chalamet's comments on ballet and opera.
The actress and Abbott Elementary star spoke to People at the TIME Women Of the Year Gala on Tuesday, March 10, and expressed that she has "always loved" the Ballet of The Dance Theatre Harlem.
"The Dance Theatre of Harlem always went above and beyond to show that the arts were not just for some people, but the arts were for all people," she said.
Ralph commented on the controversial comments made by Chalamet where he said "no one cares about this anymore."
"And I think when young Timothée Chalamet spoke about ballet and all of that, he was just mad at his mother that day," Ralph said. "He was just mad at his sister that day. He was just mad at his aunt that day. He didn't mean what he says, because I know that boy has loved a few ballerinas. Yes, he has."
Chalamet's mother, sister, and grandmother all come from a ballet background which contributed to the backlash he received.
Ralph is not the only celebrity to speak on Chalamet's comments, professional ballet dancer Misty Copeland said, "First I have to say that it’s very interesting that he invited me to be a part of promoting Marty Supreme with respect to my art form. But I think that it’s important that we acknowledge that, yes, this is an art form that’s not ‘popular’ and a part of pop culture as movies are. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have enduring relevance in culture."

Musician Doja Cat also responded to the controversy in a recent TikTok video where she said, "Hey, by the way, opera is 400 years old, ballet is 500 years old. Somebody named Tim-oh-tay Cha-lam-et had the nerve — big guy, by the way — had the nerve to say, on camera, that nobody cares about it." She then said she was "not proud" of how she criticized Chalamet and admitted she had never seen ballet or opera performed live.
'I Slap When I'm Excited' - Nathan Fillion Continues Mystery Firefly Videos with THAT Crewmember
Nathan Fillion wasn't doing this without Alan Tudyk. He said so himself.
The final video in Fillion's month-long Fireflyrecruitment campaign dropped Wednesday on the Once We Were Spacemen Instagram, the podcast the two co-host together, and it's one fans have been wondering about. Fillion shows up, looks at Tudyk, and delivers the line that cuts straight to it: 'I'm not going to do this without you.' Tudyk's response is a stunned, quiet 'Oh.' Then a beat. Then: 'So, are you in?'
He's in. He's also, apparently, a slapper.
View this post on InstagramWhen the reality of whatever this is lands on Tudyk, he slaps Fillion in excitement. 'I slap,' he explains, mid-slap. 'I'm just excited.' Fillion takes it. The clip ends with both of them acknowledging they have places to be, which is very on-brand for two of the busiest actors working in genre television right now.
The Tudyk video closes out a campaign that has run since late February, when Fillion began showing up unannounced at castmates' doors through the same Instagram account. Gina Torres was first, opening her door and asking 'Does this mean it's time?' Fillion confirmed it did. Videos with Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Jewel Staite, and Adam Baldwin followed. Each clip is short, fun, but really reveals nothing, which has made the internet absolutely unhinged for two weeks.
The captions have been equally cagey. One post shot down the most obvious theories directly: 'Some of you have guessed convention, podcast, or cross-over. You are wrong.'
Related: Why Is Nathan Fillion Gathering His Firefly Co-Stars?
The Tudyk inclusion matters beyond just completing the roster. His character, pilot Hoban "Wash" Washburne, was (SPOILOER ALERT) killed in the 2005 film Serenity, meaning any live-action continuation would have a Wash-shaped problem to solve. The fact that Fillion specifically said he wouldn't proceed without him adds another wrinkle to the mystery.
The announcement is set for Sunday, March 15, timed to a Firefly reunion panel Fillion and Tudyk are headlining at AwesomeCon in Washington, D.C. Disney, which now holds the rights through its acquisition of 20th Century Fox Television, has been reviving dormant Fox properties, most notably The X-Files for Hulu, which has kept a revival in the realm of possibility.
Fillion is currently in his eighth season on ABC's The Rookie and played Guy Gardner/Green Lantern in James Gunn's Superman. Tudyk starred in Resident Alien and Creature Commandos, and also appeared in Supermanas the film's robot.
Few shows canceled after a single season still command this kind of devotion two decades later. Whatever Sunday brings, Fillion made sure his whole crew would be there for it, slapping and all.
Shiney!
