‘Virgin River’ Fan-Favorite Breaks Silence on Unexpected Cast Exits

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 12:34pm

Warning: This article contains Virgin River Season 7 spoilers.

Virgin River Season 8 is officially happening, as the next season was renewed long before Season 7 hit Netflix airwaves.

However, the upcoming season will look a bit different as two longtime cast members are confirmed to be exiting Virgin River following Season 7.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine) and Marco Grazzini (Mike) are not returning for Season 8. Ben Hollingsworth (Brady) recently spoke about losing the two longtime cast members.

“We found out about a month ago, when [showrunner] Patrick Sean Smith reached out to the cast members. He didn’t want us to find out via an article, and I reached out to Marco immediately and offered my condolences. But also, I let him know how much the show won’t be the same without him, and how much he meant to all of us,” Hollingsworth shared with Entertainment Weekly.

The Hallmark star admitted that losing Hammersley and Grazzini stung a bit because the cast is like a close-knit family. It was hard for Hollingsworth to say goodbye to the twoVirgin River stars, but he knows they will both have great futures ahead of them.

Hollingsworth further shared that it was a bit unsettling to lose his two Virgin River cast members after Brady’s Season 7 motorcycle accident cliffhanger.

“You never know. There are a lot of cast members and storylines on the show. Part of what makes any show good is the unexpected!" he expressed.

Mike’s storyline was wrapped up nicely. After Brie (Zibby Allen) finally admitted that Brady was the one man who would always have her heart, Mike reconnected with Victoria (Sara Canning), a former Los Angeles cop turned medical investigator, looking into an allegation against Doc Mullins (Tim Matheson). The season ended with Mike hinting about visiting her in Los Angeles, making way for Grazzini’s exit.

Charmaine has been on the back burner ever since it was revealed that Jack (Martin Henderson) wasn’t the father of her twins. Season 6 saw Charmaine clashing with the baby daddy, Calvin (David Cubitt), and Jack witnessing the tension. In Season 7, Charmaine’s story took a turn when Calvin was killed, and she went on the run, so it makes sense that she won’t be back for another season. She's probably looking for a peaceful life far away from Virgin River.

Virgin River Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on Netflix.

Oscar-Winning ’00s Star Turns 50 — And Fans Still Quote Her Biggest Role

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 12:24pm

It’s hard to believe because of her youthful appearance, but fan favorite actress Reese Witherspoon is celebrating her 50thbirthday.

Ahead of her March 22 birthday, the Legally Blondestar reflected on the decades of her life that have led her to who she is today and hinted at her next chapter.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

In an Instagram post shared before turning the big 50, Witherspoon shared an inspiring carousel of photos. The first one had Witherspoon kicking off her message by saying, “I am almost 50 but I was once.”

On each slide, the actress reflected on a decade of her life and what she learned during that time.

Witherspoon declared her 40s were for trying new things, embracing life fully, and being intentional. “Turning 40 felt like my first deep exhale I know who I am now and what I want. Producing, champion women’s stories and helping others find their voice lights me,” she wrote as part of her reflection.

In her 30s, Witherspoon was balancing motherhood, sharpening her path, and finding her voice. “I was learning how to trust myself more – figuring out how to be a mom while having a career. I started producing because I wanted to tell stories that mattered, stories about women that weren’t being told," Witherspoon declared as a snippet of her look back.

The Sweet Home Alabama beauty called her 20s a time of dealing with fame, feeling anxious, and being ambitious. “I was scared of everything but I kept going. I threw myself into roles like Election and Cruel Intentions, and then I won an Oscar at 20 for Walk the Line. I was working nonstop trying to figure out life how to be a mom and I had no idea what I was doing half the time,” the actress spilled reflecting on the decade her life changed forever.

View this post on Instagram

Witherspoon ended her post with a tease about life in her 50s, admitting there’s still so much she wants to do, especially when it comes to championing women, and she’s excited for the next chapter.

The Morning Show star has had quite a life and career. In her personal life, Witherspoon is the mother of Deacon and Ava with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, and son Tennessee with her ex-partner, Jim Toth.

Professionally, she has over 30 awards and accolades to her name, including an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2006 for her performance as June Carter in Walk the Line.

Throughout her career, she's been a trailblazer in Hollywood, all while reshaping industry standards for women in the business. Her production company, Hello Sunshine, has become a female-driven powerhouse, focusing on telling women-centric stories in film, books and television.

Even though she sold the company in 2021, Witherspoon remains heavily involved, especially in the development of movies and television. Reese’s Book Club has become a major success, as each month she highlights a book with a woman at its center.

At 50, she’s still one of the most quoted stars of the ’00s, thanks to her defining and most recognizable role as the confident and often underestimated protagonist, Elle Woods—and the endlessly iconic line, “What, like it’s hard?

Witherspoon has delivered countless iconic performances on screen while shaping even more stories behind the scenes. And there's plenty more to come!

Happy birthday, Reese!

Did Last Night's Big 'Saturday Night Live' Experiment Work?

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 11:47am

Yesterday, Saturday Night Live was brand new. Just not in the United States.

Fifty years after Saturday Night Live first aired in America, a British version arrived Saturday night on Sky One, live from Television Centre in London, watched by more than 220,000 people in the UK, and already available to stream in the US on Peacock.

The ambition behind the project is hard to overstate. Like it's US counterpart, Saturday Night Live UK is written, rehearsed, and performed entirely within the week of each broadcast, staged before a live studio audience and featuring an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music, and a British take on Weekend Update. Executive producer Lorne Michaels has unmatched experience in this area, and is hoping to make this jump across the pond a success. In a vote of confidence, before a single episode aired, Sky extended it from six to eight episodes.

Tina Fey hosted the premiere, with indie rock band Wet Leg as the musical guest. The cold open depicted Prime Minister Keir Starmer, played by cast member George Fouracres, as a nervous, hand-wringing figure trying to avoid a call from President Donald Trump, a sketch that immediately established the show's intent to bite.

Fey's opening monologue drew celebrity cameos from Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan, who questioned from the audience why an American was hosting the inaugural episode, and Michael Cera, who probed Fey about the post-watershed freedom to swear. Graham Norton appeared to help manage the crowd. When Coughlan suggested a British icon, Beckham, Judi Dench, or Shrek, should have been the one to open the show, Fey's response drew the night's biggest laugh: "None of you f***ers would do it."

The cast drew from more than 1,200 applicants and includes Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young. Magliano and Young anchor the UK's Weekend Update segment.

The critical reception landed where many suspected it might: cautiously positive, with room for doubt. The Telegraph awarded four stars, calling the debut 'shockingly competent' and noting that predictions of a transatlantic crash-and-burn 'proved wide of the mark.' The Financial Times also gave four stars, saying the debut 'shows promise' and that British comedians 'deserve' a show like this. Comedy site Chortle gave four stars as well, calling the debut 'impressively strong' and adding, 'whisper it, but I think they might just have nailed it.'

Related: Ryan Gosling Sneaks a Marching Band Into the Tonight Show for Eva Mendes' Birthday

Variety's Scott Bryan noted that the show wisely took the American template's core elements and handed them to British performers, observing that the sketches skewed darker and more deadpan than the US original.

The Guardian awarded three stars, with critic Lucy Mangan writing that the cast of 11 actors and a 20-strong writing team 'only just got away with it', or perhaps 'managed a bit better than that.' The Independent matched that score, noting 'some hits, some misses,' while observing the show displayed 'a willingness to push the envelope' and that 'borrowing a beloved American format might feel a bit stale, but there are notes of new ingredients that could offer something fresh.'

The Sunday Times was the harshest major voice, declaring simply: 'Britain is funny but this isn't yet.'

Viewer reaction online split along similar lines, with some calling it 'brilliant' and others 'utter slop.'

Jamie Dornan hosts next week with musical guest Wolf Alice, followed by Riz Ahmed with Kasabian on April 4. The bigger question is whether the show can find its footing before the season is done, and whether British audiences will stick around long enough to let it.

Michelle Pfeiffer Teases 'Messy' Upcoming Season of Taylor Sheridan Series

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 11:34am

Yet another season hit western series has descended on Paramount+.

It's expectedly tied to the great Taylor Sheridan, a TV titan who rose to fame through the creation of Yellowstone years earlier. One of his latest projects is The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.

And while the first season was a mere six episodes, Variety reports that the second was filmed before the pilot even premiered. Leading-lady Pfieffer, 67, was thus able to share a few details recently about what fans can expect in future episodes.

“It’s after the initial stage of raw grief passes, and some time has gone by,” the ageless actress told Variety in an interview article published Saturday, March 21. “It’s the messy and profound rebuilding of everything that you knew after everything that you knew has fallen apart and what that looks like.”

View this post on Instagram

Russell, 75, also dished on what lies ahead in the second batch of episodes.

“I think it’s fair to say that in Season 2 — and I believe Michelle will agree with me — what happens is the level of real danger goes up,” he told the magazine. “Things begin to become dangerous in realistic ways.”

The Escape from New York actor also noted that the script’s relatability in season 1 was a main element that appealed to him about the project initially.

“It was a matter of reading it and saying, ‘Wow, at what point was [Sheridan] a fly on the wall in our house?'” he told Variety. “We lived part of the time in Los Angeles, but I did move to Colorado when I was 26 years old to live the way I wanted to live and still be in the business. When I read it, I realized how, for the first time, I was going to play somebody similar to myself, as opposed to somebody who was a broad character or something in a very different genre."

I Made Copycat Cheesecake Factory Avocado Egg Rolls and They're Just as Delicious

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 11:20am

Heading to The Cheesecake Factory is always a scrumptious treat. Flipping through the massive menu feels like an adventure as I browse the 250-plus menu items and more than 30 decadent cheesecake flavors. There’s something for everyone—from Crispy Chicken Costoletta to Fettuccini Alfredo to Strawberry Cheesecake, The Cheesecake Factory truly has it all. But no matter how many times I try to branch out and order something new, I always tend to return to one of my go-to favorites: the restaurant’s iconic Avocado Egg Rolls.

This longtime menu staple has become a cult favorite among Cheesecake Factory regulars—and for good reason. The crispy egg roll exterior is the perfect complement to the avocado, sun-dried tomato, onion and cilantro filling. It’s melt-in-your-mouth good—and a true staple everyone who loves The Cheesecake Factory must try.

That said, some nights, staying cozy in my PJs is far more appealing than heading out to dinner. So, I decided to recreate this famous menu item with Love Kari Cooking’s copycat recipe on deck. I brought The Cheesecake Factory’s Avocado Egg Rolls into my own kitchen to see whether this homemade version would taste as good as the original.

What Are The Cheesecake Factory's Avocado Egg Rolls?

The Cheesecake Factory’s Avocado Egg Rolls are a timeless, crowd-pleasing appetizer that will never go out of style. The egg rolls are filled with avocado, sun-dried tomato, red onion, and cilantro; then, they’re fried in a crispy egg roll wrapper.

The restaurant slices the rolls diagonally and serves them alongside a tamarind-cashew dipping sauce for an aesthetically pleasing presentation.

Ingredients Needed for Copycat Cheesecake Factory Avocado Egg Rolls

To prepare copycat Cheesecake Factory egg rolls, you’ll need just a few simple ingredients: half of a red onion, a small bunch of cilantro, four ounces of sun-dried tomatoes, four ripe avocados, salt, the juice of half a lime and egg roll wrappers.

While there are copycat recipes for Cheesecake Factory’s tamarind-cashew dipping sauce, tamarind puree, a main ingredient in the sauce, was challenging to find. So, I went with the next best thing: A creamy premade cilantro avocado yogurt dressing—similar to Karina's choice in her video—which was perfect for dipping.

How To Make Copycat Cheesecake Factory Avocado Egg Rolls

This recipe is simple to pull together. Start by chopping the onion and the small bunch of cilantro. Add them to a large mixing bowl.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Next, chop the sun-dried tomatoes and avocado before adding them to the mixing bowl. Sprinkle in some salt to taste, then add the juice of half a lime. Mix everything until well-combined.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Now, it’s time to assemble the egg rolls. Place a tablespoon of filling on the top corner of an egg roll wrapper.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Fold the top corner over the filling, then fold each side toward the center. Gently roll the wrapped, stopping before you seal the “envelope,” as I like to describe it. Add a bit of oil to the final tip and gently press down to seal.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Once the egg rolls are assembled, set a large skillet over medium heat and generously coat the bottom with oil.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Once the skillet is hot, add the egg rolls, cooking for roughly one and a half minutes on each side, or until golden.

When the egg rolls are cooked, remove each one from the pan, slice (or enjoy whole, in true egg roll fashion), plate, and serve!

Copycat Cheesecake Factory Avocado Egg Rolls: My Honest Review

Dare I say, these homemade egg rolls turned out just as delightful as the restaurant original! The real flavor comes from the sun-dried tomatoes—they bring the entire dish together. My entire family is completely obsessed—and we all agreed this copycat recipe is a total keeper. The egg rolls looked as professionally prepared as they tasted.

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

Although the chopping and rolling can feel a tad tedious at first, after I make this recipe a few more times, I know it will become second nature. Next time, I may buy pre-chopped onions to save time. I’m also considering serving these egg rolls with a few different sauces, like a Thai peanut dipping sauce and Ranch.

All in all, avocado egg rolls serve as the ultimate low-fuss appetizer whether you’re whipping them up for a cozy night in playing games or hosting friends for a casual dinner party.

Final Thoughts and Tips

A couple of key tips for this recipe come into play during the rolling process. Egg roll wrappers are incredibly delicate, so handle them with care. (My long nails easily poked through some, so be mindful of this!)

Courtesy Alexa Mellardo

While rolling, be sure to seal the bottom tip with a little bit of oil—Karina recommends using the oil from the jar of sun-dried tomatoes—to keep each roll neat and tidy while preventing any filling from escaping. I also added a bit of extra oil on the outside of the final tip for a finishing touch.

Fans Claim Trader Joe's Cult-Favorite Seasonal Brioche Makes 'Killer' French Toast

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 11:15am

Trader Joe's has built a near-cult-like following around its ever-changing lineup of seasonal products—items that appear briefly, spark frenzy and often disappear just as quickly. That constant rotation is by design, as the grocer regularly introduces limited-time goods that keep shoppers coming back to see what's new.

The latest addition to that lineup is the Sliced Double Chocolate Brioche, a rich, cocoa-infused twist on the classic French-style bread that's already generating buzz among fans. Introduced as part of the grocer's spring offerings, the loaf features chocolate dough smattered with chocolate chips, making it an indulgent option that blurs the line between breakfast and dessert.

Sliced Double Chocolate Brioche, $5.49 at Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's

On Reddit, where Trader Joe's devotees often gather to review new finds, reactions suggest the bread is a huge hit. One user described it as "a little more dessert-like, but not overly so," noting that the sweetness feels "sophisticated rather than sugary." That balance seems to be key to its appeal—it's rich enough to feel special, but not so heavy that it becomes overwhelming.

Related: Trader Joe's Is Bringing Back Serious Childhood Snack Nostalgia With This Find

But what's really capturing shoppers' attention is how well the brioche transforms into French toast. In the same Reddit thread, commenters quickly began swapping serving ideas, with multiple users pointing out that the chocolatey slices make for an especially decadent breakfast when dipped in custard and cooked on a griddle. The consensus? This bread isn't just good—it's "killer" when used for French toast, elevating a simple dish into something closer to a brunch-worthy dessert. Fans also note it's delicious simply toasted with nothing on it.

That versatility is part of what makes brioche such a staple in the first place. Known for its buttery, tender crumb, brioche readily absorbs liquid, making it ideal for recipes like French toast or bread pudding. The addition of chocolate only amplifies that quality, creating a finished dish that's crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and packed with cocoa flavor.

As with many Trader Joe's seasonal items, the biggest challenge may simply be finding it before it disappears. If early reactions are any indication, this double chocolate brioche will most definitely follow the familiar path of fan-favorite products—flying off shelves and leaving shoppers eagerly awaiting its return.

‘The Comeback’ Creator Teases Andrew Scott’s Big Season 3 Role: 'Everything You’d Want Him to Be' (Exclusive)

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 11:00am

Fans of The Comeback have a major reason to be excited: Andrew Scott (aka "Hot Priest" from Fleabag) is joining the series.

During a conversation with Parade, creator Michael Patrick King shared what viewers can expect from Scott’s character in Season 3 of the hit HBO comedy, premiering March 22, and it sounds like he’ll play a significant role.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

“Andrew plays the head of the studio, which is interesting because he's in a lot of episodes,” King said.

Michael Patrick King is widely recognized for shaping some of television’s most iconic comedies. The Emmy-winning writer, director, and producer was a driving creative force behind Sex and the City (1998–2004), its feature films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010), as well as the revival series And Just Like That(2021–2025).

He also co-created The Comeback, the HBO comedy that first premiered in 2005 before returning for a second season in 2014. The series became a cult favorite for its sharp satire of Hollywood and its mockumentary-style storytelling, exploring the absurdities of fame, ego, and the entertainment industry with a unique blend of humor and discomfort. King’s work often blends comedy with an incisive look at celebrity culture, a tone that made The Comeback stand out in a landscape dominated by traditional sitcoms.

At the center of the show is Lisa Kudrow, who stars as Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star attempting to revive her career while allowing cameras to document her journey for a reality show. Kudrow, best known for her Emmy-winning role as Phoebe Buffay on Friends, earned widespread acclaim for the performance, which blends cringeworthy comedy with genuine vulnerability. Her portrayal captures the awkwardness, ambition, and occasional desperation of someone navigating the world of Hollywood, making Valerie both relatable and unforgettable.

Andrew Scott has become a fan favorite in recent years thanks to a range of memorable roles across television and film. The Irish actor earned global attention for playing the charismatic priest opposite Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Fleabag. Fans quickly dubbed the character the “Hot Priest” thanks to his undeniable charm and the electric chemistry between the two characters, turning the nickname into a pop culture phenomenon. Beyond Fleabag, Scott has impressed audiences in projects like Black Mirror, Catherine the Great, and the film 1917, showcasing his range from intense drama to sharp comedy. Most recently we saw Scott in the Knives Out franchise as Lee Ross in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, playing a best-selling author who has gone off the grid.

“We didn’t think we were going to do any guest star cameos, and we got a call,” King recalled. “Andrew’s like, ‘Anything?’ He loves The Comeback. We’re like, ‘Yes, everything! You can be in everything.’”

Scott will appear across multiple episodes, and while King kept many details under wraps, he hinted fans will be pleased. “He’s great,” King said. “And you'll be surprised. He's everything you'd want him to be.”

With King’s sharp writing, Kudrow’s fearless performance, and now Scott’s magnetic presence, the new season of The Comeback promises to blend biting satire with unexpected heart, giving fans both laughs and surprises along the way.

‘Sopranos’ Star Aida Turturro, Who Played Tony’s Sister Janice, Looks So Svelte at Reunion With Costars

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:58am

Aida Turturro, who is best known for playing free-spirited Janice on The Sopranos, is looking svelte and healthy these days.

The beloved actress, 63, earned two Emmy nominations for her role as the chaotic sister of Tony Soprano, played by James Gandolfini, on the iconic HBO series. Janice, often known for sweeping into town and creating mayhem wherever she landed, also forged several hectic romantic relationships during her run on the series. Without any major spoilers, let's just say that you won't want to miss Janice's tumultuous storylines on the memorable series.

While The Sopranos concluded in 2007, the cast has managed to stay close. This week, Turturro took to social media to share a photo from a lunch reunion with two of her costars: Steven Van Zandt, who played Silvio Dante, and Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby Bacala on the series. Looking extremely svelte and healthy, Turturro smiled brightly alongside her former costars.

"Lunch with the boys❤️," she captioned the shot.

What Has Aida Turturro Said about Living With Diabetes?

Turturro has spoken openly about her health issues, which have included rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes. In a 2017 interview with Ability Magazine, the actress spoke about how she discovered she had diabetes and came to realize she needed to take it seriously.

Photo by John Nacion on Getty Images

"A couple of years ago, my doctor said, 'Listen, your blood sugars have been out of control. Do you understand that if you don’t take care of this, you’re putting yourself at risk for problems like kidney disease, heart failure, blindness, neuropathy, possibly even death,' and it finally hit me," Turturro shared. "She told me I wasn’t controlling my diabetes with diet and oral medications, and I really needed to start insulin. So I did, and that was really the first time I took charge of my disease. I was scared about taking insulin, but if someone said, “You have cancer, and you really need to start chemo,' would you say no? Of course not."

What's Aida Turturro Up To These Days?

It's quite a departure from her role on The Sopranos, but Turturro is a frequent face on Law & Order: SVU, where she has played Judge Felicia Catano occasionally since around 2013. Who doesn't love to see the star with a gavel in her hand?

Former Prince Andrew Seen Publicly For The First Time Since His Birthday Arrest

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:58am

The former Prince Andrew, now Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has been spotted publicly for the first time since his February arrest, which took place on his 66th birthday. The ex-prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, but he was reportedly released from custody later that same day.

It has been more than a month since that arrest, and Mountbatten-Windsor has now been seen walking his dogs, alongside a bodyguard. Per People, the former royal was spotted in Norfolk, on the Sandringham Estate, on Saturday, March 21.

View this post on Instagram

Mountbatten-Windsor and his family have been the focus of public attention for several years now, due to Mountbatten-Windsor's connection to the late convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which resulted in years of legal and personal troubles for Queen Elizabeth II's third-born child.

In addition to a lawsuit brought against Mountbatten-Windsor by Virginia Giuffre, who alleged that the then-prince had sexually abused her when she was a teenager, Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of his royal titles, duties and benefits on a rolling basis for the last several years. Giuffre's case against Mountbatten-Windsor concluded with an out-of-court settlement in 2022.

The same year, it was announced that Mountbatten-Windsor would no longer be using his "HRH" (His Royal Highness) title and that he would be stepping back from royal duties. However, in 2025, King Charles IIIformerly stripped Mountbatten-Windsor of his royal titles and duties, including that of prince.

Mountbatten-Windsor isn't the only member of his branch of the British royal family who has been making headlines of late, though. His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson (often referred to by her nickname, Fergie), was also recently accused of sharing her goddaughter's contact information with Epstein in 2010.

Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson's two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugeniehave seemed to largely keep away from the scandals regarding their parents, although it was recently reported that they were banned from the Royal Ascot amid these allegations against their parents.

Best-Selling Author’s Novel Ranked as No. 1 ‘Most Anticipated Romance' on Goodreads

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:58am

Best-selling author Carley Fortune is once again capturing readers'’' attention with her latest novel, even before it hits shelves.

Her upcoming book, Our Perfect Storm, has been ranked the No. 1 most anticipated romance on Goodreads among titles publishing in the U.S. between March and May. According to Goodreads, the list is based on how many users have added each book to their "want-to-read" shelves, offering a snapshot of which upcoming releases are generating the most excitement.

Fortune is already a fan-favorite in the romance genre, known for bestselling novels like Every Summer After and One Golden Summer, both of which helped cement her reputation for emotionally rich, character-driven love stories.

Our Perfect Storm follows longtime best friends Frankie and George, whose complicated relationship is put to the ultimate test. On the eve of Frankie's wedding, tensions linger between the two until a sudden twist changes everything. After Frankie's fiancé abruptly calls off the wedding, she's left heartbroken and searching for answers.

In an unexpected turn, George suggests they take her honeymoon together, traveling to the ruggedly beautiful coast of Tofino. What begins as a chance to heal quickly becomes something deeper, as the pair confront years of unspoken feelings, buried truths and the possibility that their friendship could become something more or fall apart entirely.

With its mix of emotional stakes, romantic tension and a picturesque setting, Our Perfect Storm, which is expected May 5, 2026, is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about love stories of the season.

"The setting is always a deliberate choice," says Fortune of her process for writing her novels. "The story ideas kind of come out of the setting. One Golden Summer is set in Barry;s Bay, which is a small town in eastern Ontario where I grew up. And it’s teeny tiny, just 1,200 people. I grew up on the lake—very rural, very isolated. My parents sold that house when I was in my early twenties, but I keep going back to the area."

Our Perfect Storm is no exception.

"It takes place mostly in Tofino, which is this incredible, small community on the west coast of Vancouver Island," she said. "It’s as far west in Canada as you can go and it’s surrounded by rainforests and misty beaches. It’s really the story of their friendship and falling in love and trying to figure out where you are. I’m really proud of it. I think it’s my best book.

With early reader interest pushing it to the top of Goodreads' most anticipated list, Fortune's latest novel is poised to be a must-read for romance fans.

Little Debbie’s New Oatmeal Creme Pies Treat Is Already Winning Over Fans

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:33am

Little Debbie's famous Oatmeal Creme Pies are getting a "yummy" reimagining, and it's not one shoppers will find in the regular snack aisle.

The famous snack-sized cookie sandwich has been a favorite for decades, and if you didn't know, it was actually inspired by another popular treat at the time of its 1935 debut. Per the Little Debbie website, during the Great Depression, O.D. McKee began experimenting with his bakery's hard oatmeal cookies and changed the recipe to create softer cookies, which he then sandwiched with a "fluffy" and light creme filling.

Now, over 90 years later, the soft, gooey, nostalgic treat has inspired several spin-offs of its own. Ones that bring new flavors (such as Banana Puddin' Creme Pies and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice variety) and new formats (including pints of ice cream) to satisfy fan cravings—even ones they didn't know they had.

Building on its partnership with Hudsonville Ice Cream, Little Debbie is apparently launching an ice cream bar version of its beloved Oatmeal Creme Pies.

Little Debbie's Oatmeal Creme Pies Reimagined as Hudsonville Ice Cream Bars

Eagle-eyed shoppers spotted the new frozen treat in stores this past weekend, with at least one fan grabbing a box to try at home.

"It's a little chewy, but these taste just like you would imagine they would taste," food blogger On Second Scoop wrote in a March 21 Instagram upload. "I definitely thought of Oatmeal creme pies while I was eating these," they added, noting that the "chunks [of Oatmeal Creme Pies] and the ice cream itself are both a bit chewy, but still a fun treat that I will be buying again."

According to a description on the box, the new treat features vanilla creme-flavored ice cream that's packed with "real Oatmeal Cookie pieces." The boxes include four 3.5-ounce bars, and prices start at about $5.69 per its current Instacart listing. Each serving size includes 160 calories, 7 grams of fat, 18 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein.

"OH EMM DEBBIE!🙌🏻," influencer Markie_Devo cheered in a separate upload, "As if the sandwiches were not enough!!"

"Summer is coming Little Debra," another fan teased, "please get your knee off our necks 😭."

A third joked, "Sounds like Debbie is getting kinda personal."

"At least its classified as ice cream not [frozen dairy] dessert," someone else shared.

"Yummy!" another cheered, while a different social media user called it "quite the find."

Others only seemed interested in the bars because they still haven't been able to get their hands on the Little Debbie x Hudsonville ice cream sandwiches.

"I want them sandwiches to show up somewhere. Pass on the bars," one suggested while one more lamented: "I guess I’ll have to take this, since I can’t get the sandwich 😢."

Where Are the Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie Ice Cream Bars Available?

As of writing, it's unclear which stores are stocking the new Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie Ice Cream Bars or whether it's being released as an exclusive to any one family of stores.

While neither Little Debbie nor Hudsonville Ice Cream has officially announced the new ice cream bars, we'd expect them to be stocked at retailers carrying the related ice cream bars, pints and sandwich flavors (Kroger, Giant, Walmart, etc) and will likely become easier to find in the coming weeks, as it appears to have only begun rolling out for the spring-summer season.

A spokesperson was not immediately available at the time of publishing; we will update this story with any relevant information that may be shared.

We Asked 3 Doctors What Habit Matters Most for Longevity—They All Said the Same Thing

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:25am

Why do some people live into the triple digits while others die prematurely in mid-life? It’s a complicated question, and often, it doesn’t boil down to just one factor. Certainly, no one can control how long they live completely, particularly when you consider that accidents are the third leading cause of death in the U.S.

That said, you can control how long you’ll likely live more than you probably realize. The risks of many of the other leading causes of death (including cardiovascular disease, cancer and strokes) can be drastically reduced by having healthy habits in place.

Related: I Took a 'Longevity Vacation—Here's What I Learned, and How You Can Book One Too'

Life-lengthening habits include eating a nutrient-rich diet, exercising regularly, not smoking, wearing sunscreen when you’re in the sun for extended periods of time, consistently getting enough sleep and having effective stress management habits in place.

But which of these habits is the most important when it comes to longevity? Part of what makes this question hard to answer is that many people who prioritize their well-being have more than one healthy habit in place. This can make it difficult to know if their longevity is due more to their diet than their exercise habits, for example.

That said, there’s one habit that’s so intricately connected to healthy lifespans that it’s hard not to believe that it’s one of, if not the, most important habit for longevity.

The Habit That Matters Most for Longevity, According to Doctors

Wavebreakmedia/Getty Images

If you want to adopt one habit that’s repeatedly shown to add years to your life, you can’t top living an active lifestyle. All three doctors and longevity specialists we talked to said that it’s hands-down a crucial habit for longevity.

Physical activity doesn’t just strengthen your heart or burn calories. It reaches into nearly every organ system in your body and fundamentally changes your biology,” says Dr. Dawn Mussallem, DO, a lifestyle medicine doctor, Mayo Clinic consultant and chief medical officer at Fountain Life.

According to a study published in JAMA Network Open, people who live an active lifestyle have a 29 to 36% lower risk of all-cause mortality than people who are inactive. Dr. Massallem says that there are several reasons for this. One is that regular exercise strengthens the cardiovascular system, making it less susceptible to heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in the U.S.

Longevity physicianDr. Jennifer Timmons, MD, echoes this. “It affects you on a physiological level by improving your cardiovascular system, lowering your blood pressure, improving blood flow and supporting your endothelial function, which is the lining of the blood vessels,” she says. Additionally, Dr. Timmons notes that living an active lifestyle lowers the risk of obesity, a medical condition that significantly reduces life expectancy.

Improving Health at the Cellular Level

Dr. Natalia Sadowski, MD, an internal medicine doctor, geriatrician and photobiomodulation advisor to Recharge Health, tells Parade that exercise improves health deep down at the cellular level, improving mitochondrial efficiency, which helps maintain the body’s ability to produce cellular energy as we age.

“In simple terms, movement tells the body to stay adaptable and resilient. Decades of population research consistently show that people who remain moderately active throughout life experience lower rates of cardiovascular disease, metabolic illness and cognitive decline,” she explains.

Dr. Timmons adds to this, saying that on a cellular level, being active protects DNA by keeping the telomeres in cells lengthened. “These naturally get shorter as you age, and walking and staying active increases telomerase activity, the enzyme that helps your telomeres stay strong,” she says.

As if these benefits weren’t enough to motivate you to be more active, Dr. Mussallem adds that exercise majorly benefits brain health too. “A landmark 2025 analysis of more than 4,300 adults followed for up to 37 years found that people with the highest physical activity levels in midlife and late life had a 45% lower risk of developing all-cause dementia—including Alzheimer’s disease—compared to the least active. Critically, this protective effect held even for carriers of the APOE ε4 allele—the strongest known genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s. Exercise is one of the most powerful interventions we have for preserving cognitive function as we age,” she says.

How Much Exercise Is Needed To Actually Increase Longevity?

It’s clear that living an active lifestyle is intricately linked to longevity. But how much exercise should you aim to get regularly for it to have a noticeable impact on your lifespan? All three doctors say that any amount of exercise is beneficial, and the more active you are, the more your health will benefit.

“Benefits begin at approximately 2,600 to 2,800 steps per day, which is roughly 20 to 25 minutes of walking. That’s where mortality risk starts to bend,” Dr. Mussallem says, citing a 2023 scientific study published in Cureus. Both Dr. Mussallem and Dr. Timmons explain that the benefits of exercising make an even more substantial impact on longevity when increased to getting at least 7,000 steps a day.

That said, Dr. Mussallem recommends aiming for getting at least 8,800 to 10,000 steps a day to really impact your longevity. “[This] represents roughly a 36% absolute risk reduction compared to the least active individuals. That’s about 60 to 75 minutes of walking—but not necessarily all at once,” she shares.

Dr. Sadowski emphasizes that physical activity doesn’t have to be super intense to add years to your life. She says regular walking can be a powerful form of moderate exercise because it activates large muscle groups, improves circulation and supports metabolic health without placing excessive stress on the body.

“From a longevity perspective, consistency matters far more than intensity. Walking is also highly sustainable. It is something most people can continue for decades, and that long-term consistency is exactly what protects health over time,” she notes.

How To Work More Movement Into Your Daily Routine

If you want to live a more active lifestyle, Dr. Sadowski recommends weaving movement into routines that already exist. This can look like walking after meals, while talking on the phone, parking farther away and choosing the stairs instead of the elevator.

Dr. Timmons also recommends walking after meals as a way to integrate more movement into your routine. “Walking after a meal is especially beneficial because, in addition to the general health benefits, it helps lower your blood sugar and manage your glucose from food,” she says.

Dr. Timmons is also a fan of “exercise snacks,” which are small bursts of movement throughout the day. “For example, every time you go to the bathroom, you could do 10 squats, or you could set an alarm and do 10 squats every hour when you get up from your desk,” she says.

If you don’t typically enjoy exercise, using it as a form of social connection could change the way you think about it, such as going on neighborhood walks with a friend or taking a group fitness class at your local gym. Dr. Mussallem says that group-based programs with goal setting, progress monitoring and social support are among the most effective for long-term behavior change.

“It’s important to find something you love to do that involves movement,” Dr. Timmons says. “That could be a sport or any activity that feels enjoyable, rather than just going to the gym and grinding through a workout. It’s even better if it’s social, like tennis, where you can combine movement with connection.”

When you start integrating more movement into your routine, you’ll likely find yourself wanting to live healthier in other ways too, such as eating nutrient-rich meals that provide you with the energy you need to sustain your physical activity levels. This positive domino effect is what will have the biggest impact on your longevity. The more you support your health, the more it will support you!

Iconic '60s Actor, With Major Emmy Award, Turns 95

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 9:58am

Iconic actor William Shatner is celebrating an equally iconic milestone birthday.

Shatner, whose career has spanned more than six decades, turns 95 on Sunday. He first rose to fame in the 1960s as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, a role that would become one of the most recognizable in television history and help define science fiction for generations.

"I thought of Kirk as being so courageous in life that when he faced things that he didn't know about, like the strange, the weird… the entities that the writers thought up, when he faced death, he would face death with a sense of adventure. 'Oh, what's going to happen now?'" Shatner told ScreenRant in 2024.

While Star Trek made him a household name, Shatner continued to build a long and varied career across television and film. Decades after his initial rise to fame, he earned major critical acclaim for his work on the legal dramas The Practice and Boston Legal.

In 2004, Shatner won a Primetime Emmy Awards award for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for his role as the eccentric and sharp-witted Denny Crane on The Practice. The following year, he won another Emmy, this time for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for reprising his role in The Practice's spinoff, Boston Legal. The back to back wins marked a major career milestone and introduced him to a new generation of viewers.

Beyond acting, Shatner has also worked as an author, director and producer, and has remained active well into his later years. In 2021, he even made headlines by traveling to space, becoming the oldest person to do so at the time.

And yet, Shatner never seems to look his age, nor does he show any signs of slowing down.

"I don't have any secret potions," he told The Guardian in 2021. "It must be genetic. I ride a lot of horses and I'm into the bewilderment of the world, so I open my heart and head into the curiosity of how things work."

As William Shatner turns 95, his enduring legacy, from pioneering science fiction television to award-winning performances, continues to captivate audiences around the world.

The Returning Costco Cake You Just Can’t Walk Past

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 9:24am

Costco's bakery is known for rotating through new and returning desserts, which makes it easy to spot something different almost every time you walk through the store. This spring, a returning favorite that was selling out last year is starting to reappear, and it's one that's hard to ignore.

The Tiramisu Cheesecake ($22.99) starts with a graham and cocoa crust, followed by a cold-brew cheesecake filling, and finishes with a whipped mascarpone topping and a light dusting of cocoa.

You can see it in this March 21 Instagram from Jeff @foundinsocal:

Everything about this cake looks delish! Jeff notes that the first bite leans into that familiar tiramisu flavor before the cheesecake comes through. He describes the coffee flavor as mild rather than overpowering. And gives it an 8 out of 10, making it a good option for anyone who enjoys coffee desserts without wanting something too intense.

Viewers confirmed this dessert's appeal. Viewer @bart_raymond_ noted, "It's very good!" And @ruthnajera confirmed, "They had it last year. It is delicious!"

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and cocoa powder. That same flavor profile carries over here, with the mascarpone topping adding a light, creamy finish that balances the richer cheesecake base. The cocoa dusting ties everything together and gives it that recognizable tiramisu look. With Easter coming up, a dessert this size can easily serve a crowd without any extra help.

How to Freeze Costco's Cheesecake to Enjoy Later

If the full 4.8-pound cake feels like more than you need, cheesecake freezes well when handled properly. For best results, slice it into individual portions, then wrap each piece tightly in plastic wrap, followed by foil, or place in an airtight container. This helps protect the texture and prevent freezer burn.

When you're ready to enjoy it, transfer a slice to the refrigerator and let it thaw overnight. Cheesecake typically holds its structure after freezing, making it a solid option to keep on hand for future cravings or last-minute gatherings.

For anyone who enjoys tiramisu flavors and the creamy texture of cheesecake, this returning bakery favorite is an easy one to keep in mind on your next Costco run.

4 Key Personality Traits of People Born in September

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 9:22am

When we flip our calendars to September, a month that marks the end of sultry summer and transition into harvest time, it’s almost as though we’re instantly compelled to begin striking a balance that can feel truly challenging to achieve. Even if school is back in session, and summer clothes are supposed to be shoved to the back of your closet after Labor Day, we still experience a desire to make the most of the dwindling bright, sunny days of an especially fun-filled time of year. At the same time, we want to revel in the beginning of autumn, a brisk, industrious, and social season. We’re equal parts itching to plan ahead, mapping out future trails with great precision, and eager to think in a big picture, initiative-taking way. This is the result of the astrological energies that are at play during the ninth month of the year.

Whether you’re a September-born person yourself or you care about someone who is, keep reading to learn how the ninth month of the year influences a person’s perspective, strengths, and even challenges.

The Astrology of Being Born in September

People born in September fall under one of two zodiac signs: analytical and intuitive Virgo (August 23 - September 22) and partnership-oriented, beauty-adoring Libra (September 23 - October 22). People born when the sun is moving through Virgo, symbolized by the Maiden, are service-oriented, thoughtful, meticulous, analytical, intuitive, and highly adept communicators. As the mutable earth sign, they’ll apply their high mental energy and research-savvy to going out of their way to help others, especially their nearest and dearest, but they can also struggle with indecision and worry. Meanwhile, people who were born when the sun was moving through Libra, symbolized by the Scales, are born to be diplomatic peacemakers, generally seeking harmony, balance, and beauty. They’re innately social butterflies who love to play host for a crowd, but when it comes to their personal lives, they’d prefer to pair up and relate one-on-one — the result of being associated with the Seventh House of Partnership. And as the cardinal air sign, they’re visionaries who enjoy thinking in a big picture way, coming up with sweeping ideas that they’re eager to kick off — but may struggle with follow-through on. In turn, these energies combine to mirror the nature of this summer-to-autumn transitional month that inspires us to gaze down the road, map out where we want to go from here, and what we want to achieve before the year comes to an end.

4 Core Personality Traits of Those Born in September1. People-Oriented

Whether they adore offering their loved ones lots of time spent helping them with their everyday to-dos or planning the ultimate social event, people born in September are devoted to their family members and social circles. If they’re more influenced by the mutable earth sign Virgo, they’ll selflessly pour all their energy into researching and doing all the legwork, including time-consuming minutiae, to help someone they care about and show them how much they matter. (In fact, Virgos tend to be some of the most industrious lightworkers of the zodiac.) And if they have a strong Libran presence in their birth chart, they’ll cast a wide net to become friendly with just about anyone and everyone they connect with, and they’re equally quick to become one half of a dynamic duo alongside a significant other or best friend

2. Inventive

People whose nature is colored by Virgo are brainy, creative, and capable of turning their bright ideas into master game plans. They love to make sense of the world by creating and following to-do lists, writing out their chores and objectives on a master calendar, or diving into rewarding self-work that involves constantly assessing their approach to making their wishes a reality. This confidence mixed with a penchant for planning and organizing reflects September’s frequently sunny days that morph into back-to-school vibes. At the same time, people with a stronger Libra influence naturally come up with grand, sweeping ideas, often related to bringing more peace or beauty into a particular space or experience. Their innovative takes set the stage for them to take up the role of a true leader.

3. Go-getter

Born in a month that flips the script from lazy, sunny summertime to bold, industrious fall, people who came into the world in September are generally fairly driven and eager to make bold moves to conquer their goals. Virgo-informed people are planners who will think through every significant detail of their approach before thoughtfully moving toward their objective while Libra-influenced people, guided by their high ideals and artistic point of view, set ambitious goals they’ll pursue in a competitive — albeit simultaneously diplomatic and harmony-seeking — way.

4. Romantic

People who have strong Virgo in their birth chart are quiet romantics who think through every last detail of how they’d like to be wooed or how they would cherish someone they care about. Though they’re innately rational and analytical, they’re also capable of being quite intuitive and imaginative — two traits that inform their romanticism. And those who have more Libra in their birth chart are huge fans of elegant, heartfelt displays of affection, eager to blend beauty, bliss, and their penchant for partnership into the perfect fairy tale experience with someone special.

Shoppers said it’s "perfect for organizing," "very helpful,” and "easy to put together.” One reviewer described it as "functional and sturdy,” calling it “the perfect storage cart that’s very well made and holds a lot of stuff." It’s also been praised as being "perfect for small spaces."

You might buy it for craft supplies and end up using it in your bathroom. Or maybe it starts in a nursery and later moves into a kid’s room, laundry room, or office. Since it’s on wheels, it’s easy to shift around as your needs change, making it feel much more useful than storage pieces that only work in one spot.

This is a practical under-$40 buy for anyone who’s been meaning to get more organized. The drawers help keep things sorted, the frame is narrow enough for smaller areas, and the rolling design makes it a breeze to use throughout the house.
