‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Opens Up About Her Beloved Easter Traditions
The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond has opened up about her beloved Easter traditions in a new video that centers around family, togetherness, and, of course, food.
In a YouTube video, Drummond invited fans into her kitchen as she prepared a full Easter menu. She shared that these are the same dishes she makes every year, family favorites that help keep loved ones close.
"From a beautifully glazed ham to a creamy, herby side dish, to a special dessert passed down from my mom’s dear friend decades ago, this episode is all about simple, comforting recipes that make this bright spring holiday feel extra special," Drummond wrote in the video's description.
She told her followers she would "walk you through ideas and recipes to help you put together a classic Easter lunch that’s delicious without being complicated. Because at the heart of it all, Easter is about gathering with the people you love and enjoying the good times!"

Drummond concluded that after a delicious meal, the family takes part in a "wild" Easter Egg hunt. She added that the event is "always interesting, especially now that the kids are all grown."
The video was shot in the kitchen of the home she built on her Drummond Ranch property in 2024. Prior, she lived in a 50-year-old home on the property with her husband, Ladd, and their four children, Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd.
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Drummond shared, "It wasn't a charming 50-year-old house. We loved raising our kids in the house, but it had foundation problems and had developed a few problems that were going to be pretty overwhelming to fix."
Instead, they built a home on the very same spot as the old home. In a blog on her Pioneer Woman website, it was revealed that the original home where the couple raised their family was the same home Ladd grew up in with his brothers.

1984 Rock Classic Collab Hit No. 1 41 Years Ago Today
During this week in March 1985, 41 years ago, one of the most popular rock‑pop duets in music history finally reached the top of the U.K. Singles Chart and stayed there for four weeks.
"Easy Lover," the hit track from Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire and Phil Collins of Genesis, became a defining anthem of the ’80s. It quickly soared up the music charts and took over the radio airwaves, both in the U.K. and around the world.
While an exact date for the song becoming No. 1 is hard to pinpoint with old music chart records, "Easy Lover" was first recorded in the top spot on the Official Singles Chart released on March 23, which tracked the music from the week prior.
The rock duet kept its spot at the top for a month, making a clear impact on the decade and its memorable music scene. In a few other countries, including the Netherlands, Ireland, and Canada, the song was a true chart-topper as well. In the U.S., it didn't hit No. 1 but came close, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Easy Lover" was the lead single for Bailey’s third solo album, Chinese Wall. The album was released in October 1984, with the track released as an official single the next month. Chinese Wall also featured the singles "Photogenic Memory" / "Children of the Ghetto" and "Walking on the Chinese Wall."

Bailey and Collins' song also got a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, although they lost to "We Are the World" by USA for Africa.
"We Are the World" was a charity single written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. Quincy Jones produced the song, and many of the biggest names in music history took part in the track, including Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen, and more.

2000s Music Icon Shares Rare Photo of Her Stylish Mom: ‘The Legend Is Still Rocking’
Fergie shared a glimpse of her personal life, but this time, through the lens of being a daughter.
Known for her powerhouse vocals and commanding onstage presence, the former Black Eyed Peas singer proudly introduced her mother as she celebrated her special day.
The 2000s music icon delivered a heartwarming tribute to her mother, Theresa Ann Ferguson, as she rang in her 75th birthday.
In an Instagram post, both women looked elegant and chic in their all-black outfits.
The 50-year-old pop star stunned in a mini dress, showing off her slender legs while an off-the-shoulder detail highlighted her neckline and shoulders.

Fergie completed the outfit with sheer stockings, black pointed kitten heels and a beret that gave off a sexy Parisian look.
As for her mother, Terri Ferguson went almost twinning, but in a long black dress with lace detail on the hem. Like her daughter, she sure knew how to spice up her look with a stack of long pearls and feathered hair accessories.
In addition to their stunning portrait, the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” hitmaker also shared a heartfelt message to her mother, whom she called a “legend.”
“Hi, Mommy. 75 years and the legend is still rocking<” she wrote, as she recalled the good times they had. “When I look into your eyes, I see all the years and memories we’ve shared together. I know all the sacrifices that you’ve made in your life to make mine and Dana’s better, and I want you to know I see you truly and appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. You are a forever beauty queen that has lit up every room with your smile and exuberant personality ever since I can remember.”
Lastly, Fergie expressed how “lucky” she is to have her as her mom and as a grandmother to her kids.
View this post on Instagram“I hope with your 75 years under your belt, you feel as loved as you are by so many, including your beautiful grandchildren. You only get one momma, and I’m so lucky that you are mine. Happy birthday, Miss Terri,” she added.
The post drew positive reactions from fans, who also greeted Fergie's mom on her birthday.
“Both absolutely Stunning!! Happy Birthday, mama Terri!” a follower wrote.
“Mama @bepterri still got it!! Happy birthday, queen!!” another added.
“Hi, Mom, you both look stunning,” one wrote.
“Lovely. Beautiful mother, beautiful daughter!” a commenter added.
“You girls always look amazing!” said another Instagram user.
Last year, Fergie also shared a heartfelt tribute to her mom on Mother’s Day, posting a throwback that showed exactly where she gets her signature aura.
The California-native officially left Black Eyed Peas in 2017 to focus on motherhood.
Jaime Gomez, William Adams, Stacy Ferguson and Alan Pineda of Black Eyed Peas arrive at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on February 8, 2004 in Los Angeles, California.Former bandmates will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo told Billboard they are fully supporting her decision to be "a great mom” to her son Axl Jack Duhamel, whom she shares with ex-husband Josh Duhamel.
"We love her, and she's focusing on being a mom,” they told the outlet as cited by E! News, adding “That's a hard job, and that's what she really wants to do and we're here for her... It's really the way Fergie designed it, so we're respecting her design. We love Fergie, and we don't want anything but awesomeness for her."
Before she officially stepped back from Black Eyed Peas, she had a successful solo career in the mid-2000s, where she released smash hits like "London Bridge," "Glamorous" and "Big Girls Don't Cry.”

“It’s the perfect solution for casual get-togethers, family nights, grazing dinners, and late-night cravings where variety and shareability are key,” a Little Caesars representative told Parade.
The new item will be available Hot-N-Ready from 4 to 8 p.m. at Little Caesars restaurants nationwide beginning today, March 23. “Four-N-One Stix is designed for the moments when people want a little of everything,” said Greg Hamilton, Chief Marketing Officer at Little Caesars, in a statement shared with Parade. “It brings together variety, dipping, and shareability in a format that feels new, while staying true to the great value and convenience our fans expect.”
Similar items are currently available at Little Caesars, like Italian cheese bread, which comes with ten pieces of freshly baked bread, covered with cheese, and the pepperoni cheese bread, which adds pepperoni to the shareable item. The Slices-N-Stix offering, which lets customers order four slices of pizza combined with eight Italian cheese stix, is also in the same family, but none have the variety the new Four-N-One Stix menu item brings.

The brand promoted the launch with a tongue-in-cheek social media campaign ahead of Valentine’s Day, joking that fans should send it to their single friends as the item was “way too good to share.”

Danielle Fishel Names the ‘Boy Meets World’ Star She Thinks Would Shock Fans on ‘Dancing with the Stars' (Exclusive)
Going on Dancing with the Stars was a big step for Danielle Fishel. Of course, we're not just talking about the many she would take during her deep run on the last season of the hit ABC reality series. The Boy Meets World star not only entered worlds completely unfamiliar to her in both ballroom dance and reality TV, it also put her back in the spotlight after years away.
"Dancing with the Stars was the first on-camera job I had done in a long time, almost a decade, and I was nervous," the actress tells Parade in an exclusive interview. "I didn't know if I was going to enjoy it, and I just loved it. And the way my fans and the people who've always been there for me showed up to support me, I'll never forget. It was week after week, seeing the comments and reading the Reddit posts, getting the emails, everyone was so supportive. So I'm really lucky."

Despite being eliminated in eighth place alongside Pasha Pashkov, Fishel still has DWTS close to her heart. Most recently, she served as a special guest co-host on the 2026 tour (an engagement she'll be returning to from April 9 to 12). And it's the aspect of sharing a living space with so many people that has the actress partnering with Lysol Lavender and Cotton Blossom scented products, which both kill 99.9% of germs and provide a refreshing fragrance to help set the stage both at home and on the road.
"The Dancing with the Stars Live Tour really showed me how my cleaning needed to evolve now that I had a very small little space," the 44-year-old says. "The spaces that I was using, the kitchen and the bathroom, were now shared spaces. So Lysol was a constant companion on the road."
Fishel humorously cites pro Daniella Karagach as the messiest on tour, due to her cooking skills. As she puts it, "She would make me breakfast every morning. And I felt like if Dani was going to make me breakfast, I was going to clean up. So I was the cleaner. Dani made me breakfast, and I always cleaned up."
Related: Dylan Efron Reveals How Reality TV Changed Him and Talks New Kohl’s Partnership (Exclusive)
If that symbiotic relationship is not clear, the intimate and intense environment of DWTS creates a clear family dynamic. When Parade spoke with Season 34 winner Robert Irwin, he said Fishel was the cast member he got the closest with, and that she had given him a lot of sage wisdom to navigate the world after the show.
"Danielle is just an absolute light," the 22-year-old said. "She's just absolute sunshine whenever she walks into any room. And she was really there to give so much advice to me and to so many other people. She has Irwin vibes. She feels like she's just one of us."
Courtesy of Lysol
When asked about the close bond they had created last fall, Fishel replies, "Robert and I have a very special friendship. We've been in communication many times since the end of the season. He and his mother so generously invited me and my whole family to come and visit them at the Australia Zoo. We're now in the process of trying to find a time to make that trip happen."
"He is such a special man," she continues. "And I told him, 'If my children grow up to even be half as amazing as you are, I will feel like I have more than succeeded.' He's just so kind and sweet and funny and smart and cares about the people around him. He is the biggest green flag you've ever seen."
Related: Robert Irwin Reveals the ‘DWTS’ Castmate He Bonded With Most — And the Life-Changing Advice They Gave Him (Exclusive)
Considering how life-changing Dancing with the Stars was for Fishel, it's only appropriate Parade ask her about crossover from another life-changing project: Boy Meets World. Which of her former cast members does she feel should come back to primetime on ABC to follow in her footsteps on the dance floor?
"I do really think Will Friedle should do Dancing with the Stars," she answers. "Mostly because he swears he cannot dance at all. He's like, 'I'm a terrible dancer,' and I think that makes for the best television. And I think he has no idea how good these pros are and what they'd be able to get out of him."
To clarify, despite the playful dynamic between the two, who currently host the retrospective podcast "Pod Meets World" alongside fellow BMW actor Rider Strong, her choice of Friedle is not to watch him flounder doing a fotrot on national television. Rather, she wants to give the chance for the 49-year-old to surprise people — including himself.
"I think his trajectory of where he would start to where he would finish would be so inspiring," she says. "I think they could make him a decent dancer. From where he's gonna start to where he's gonna end is gonna be quite a difference. I would really love to see him on the show."

This Antique-Inspired Hobby Lobby Find Is an Easy and Stylish Way to Elevate Your Home Decor
Creating a focal point in a home often requires a delicate balance between architectural interest and personal style. For many homeowners, the fireplace mantel or a grand entryway console serves as the heart of the room, yet these spaces can often feel unfinished without a significant statement piece to anchor the design. Achieving a high-end, stately home aesthetic usually involves hunting for antiques or investing in custom pieces, but a shift toward accessible traditionalism has opened up new possibilities for the everyday decorator.
The resurgence of ornate, classical silhouettes in contemporary interiors has brought a sense of grandeur back into the modern home. Large-scale reflective surfaces are interior designers' favorite trick for manipulating light and perceived space. Strategically placing a wide, horizontally oriented piece above a mantel or sofa augments the natural light in a room and creates the illusion of higher ceilings. A quiet luxury approach to decorating emphasizes intricate details and rich finishes that suggest a sophisticated taste without requiring a full room renovation.
Baroque Wood Mantel Mirror, $94.99 at Hobby LobbyHobby Lobby
The Baroque Wood Mantel Mirror is a stunning example of how to bring this grand aesthetic into your home for a remarkably affordable price. Currently priced at $94.99, this piece offers the heavy, substantial look of a gallery find at a fraction of the expected cost. It features a classic crowned-top shape that adds an architectural element to any flat wall, instantly elevating the room's vibes from simple to spectacular. The rich bronze finish provides a warm, metallic glow that complements both moody, dark paint colors and bright, airy neutral spaces.

In terms of scale, this mirror makes a bold impression, providing a generous reflective surface that is perfect for over-the-mantel placement. It is crafted from a durable blend of MDF, wood and glass, ensuring that the frame remains sturdy while maintaining its intricate, carved appearance. Designed for a horizontal orientation, it fills the wide space above a headboard or a buffet table perfectly, acting as a window into the rest of your beautifully styled home.
Installation is straightforward but requires attention. The back of the frame includes 2 D-Rings for secure mounting. It is important to note that the manufacturer advises against hanging with a wire. Using the D-rings directly on wall hooks ensures the weight is distributed evenly across the wood and MDF frame, preventing warping or accidents. At $94.99, this baroque-style treasure is an unbeatable value for anyone looking to add a touch of old-world charm and expansive light to their favorite living area.
55 Years Ago Today, History-Making ‘60s Sitcom Ended Its Three-Season Run
It's been 55 years since Juliaended its groundbreaking TV run. The NBCsitcom, which starred Diahann Carroll, aired for three seasons, from September 17, 1968, to March 23, 1971. The series made history as the first to feature a professional, independent Black female lead, and it scored Carroll an Emmy nod in 1969.
Carroll played Julia Baker, a nurse at an aerospace company and single parent of a six-year-old son, Corey (Marc Copage). After her husband is killed in the Vietnam War, Julia raises her son in an upper-middle-class apartment building.
A 1968 feature in Ebony described Julia as “television’s first Black family series.” But the show was also criticized for being an unrealistic portrayal of the life of a single Black woman.
Diahann Carroll received backlash over ‘Julia’In an interview with the Television Academy Foundation, Carroll admitted she initially "ran away" from doing Julia because she wasn’t sure it would work.
"Everyone was on the line, and everyone was scared,” she admitted of the series. “[It was] a very upper-middle-class Black woman raising her child, and her major concentration will not be about suffering in the ghetto."
Some viewers were put off by the premise of the series, deeming it a sanitized view of a Black woman’s life.
“You can't believe [the response we received]", Carroll recalled. "People wrote columns. How could she live in THAT apartment? And where did she get those clothes?"
"It's television! We're not doing a documentary,” she pointed out. “You have to change that thought. I said, 'Where does Marlo Thomas get those clothes [on That Girl]? She's an out-of-work actress.' We began to say, 'You must stop believing that the only thing that is valid for Blacks on television is a documentary. We're doing a comedy! Let us do a comedy.' …So, while the criticism was heavy, and sometimes, very unkind, sometimes threatening, we stuck with that premise."

Copage, who was one of TV’s very first Black child stars, agreed with his TV mom’s assessment. In an interview with ABC 7, he recalled that viewers would ask, “How would a nurse be living in this apartment? How would she dress so nice?"
"The show was not 'Black' enough. It's not a realistic portrayal of African Americans. There's no male figure, positive male figure for the child," he added.
“There were certain stations that wouldn’t even carry [Julia], especially in the South,” Copage told CNN in an interview.
Carroll, who received death threats over Julia, also admitted on the Dick Cavett Showthat the responsibility she was burdened with on the show “was a bit too much.”
The show’s cancellation 'shocked' CopageDespite the controversy, Julia aired for three seasons, and there had been hope for a fourth after more Black writers were added to the sitcom. Speaking with the Television Academy, Copage admitted that the cancellation of Julia “was a shock” to him.
Per Copage, NBC’s formal press announcement stated that Diahann and show creator Hal Kanter wanted to pursue other endeavors. “But I think the reality was that the stress was just too much for Diahann,” the Julia actor added.
‘Sister Wives’ Star Shares Hopeful Message After Devastating Home Accident
A star of TLC's Sister Wives shared a hopeful message after a devastating accident turned their lives upside down weeks after moving into their dream home.
Maddie Brown Brush shared the story of a flood inside the new home she built alongside her husband, Caleb Brush. The incident caused a mess within her kitchen, and the couple scrambled to clean up the unexpected disaster.
After discovering the flood was caused by a faulty dishwasher plumbing line, Brush took to her Instagram story to explain how her family tackled the problem. She also shared how leaning on family helped them stay positive through the messy ordeal.
On March 22, she shared a photo on Instagram that showed her family members gathered on her front porch. Their support was invaluable during this difficult week.

Brush wrote, "This is what I hoped for. This was my lemonade."
View this post on Instagram"After a hellish week of flooding dishwasher and crazy water filters, today was a reminder of what I needed! It was a reminder of what we are hoping to build! Cheers to amazing siblings!"
Brush cited sisters Mykelti Brown Padron, her husband Tony Padron, her sister Savannah Brown, and brother Paedon Brown. She thanked them for helping her "finish out the week with productivity and positivity." Also in the photo was Brush's mother, Janelle Brown.
Fans reacted to Maddie putting a positive spin on a challenging experience. They shared their remarks in the photo's comments.
"What a beautiful pic. Family is where the heart is," shared one follower.
A second wrote, "The end, and a new beginning! Perfect! So happy to see you all together."
However, a third follower found the image ironic. "Well, ain’t this ironic. Robyn, eat your heart out. There’s the big porch with the rockers and the grandbabies. That’s because it’s where the love is."
The fan cited a statement Robyn Brown made on a Sister Wives episode during Season 18. She expressed her wishes for a family compound where she sat on rocking chairs on a porch with her sister wives, as she shared her disappointment over the ending of her plural marriage dream.
Sister Wives is currently on hiatus. The series airs on TLC.
Nancy Guthrie Update: Sheriff Makes Confusing Statement About Suspect's Possible Motive
Nancy Guthrie has been missing for more than 50 days and, while authorities continue working leads in the case, a suspect has yet to be named. As the investigation presses on, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has become more selective with which media outlets he does interviews with. One thing that hasn't changed, however, is Nanos' confusing statements about the case.
"Sheriff Nanos has said many things during the course of this investigation that are problematic. And this is another one because Sheriff Nanos says, yeah, we know the motive. We know why this happened, but he is not willing to share that with the rest of us," investigative reporter Dave Mack said on the March 21 episode of Nancy Grace's Crime Stories podcast.
"But he adds, this is a targeted event. He also says, well, wait a minute. Kidnappers could still be out there. He's actually saying to watch out for yourself. So in one breath, he says, we know the motive and we know it's a targeted event, but then turning right around to say, nobody's safe. I mean, not something you want to hear from the sheriff of your county," Mack added.
Most recently, Nanos appeared to make contradicting statements about the possible motive in the Guthrie case.
"We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted, but we can’t — we’re not 100% sure of that, and so it’d be silly to tell people, 'Yeah, don’t worry about it. You’re not his target.' No, you could be," Nanos told NBC News in mid-March.
Then, in another interview with with Bill Buckmaster and Arizona Daily Star columnist Tim Steller on KVOI AM 1030’s Bill Buckmaster Show, Sheriff Nanos seemed to walk back that statement.
"When I tell you that I believe that this occurred or that occurred, that is my opinion. That's all that is," Nanos said. "The case will get us there. We let the evidence show us the way, and that’s what we base everything on. Right now, everything is speculative. We don’t have anything in front of us that says 'this is who did this, and this is why'."
Nanos said the Guthrie case is "unlike anything" Tucson has seen in years.
"We are working it hard. And we are working it with some really good, quality teams," he said. When asked what his opinion about what happened to Guthrie is, Nanos replied, "I believe that Nancy Guthrie was removed from her home against her will. That is a kidnapping. Beyond that, everything else is just—we'll see."
Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Anyone with information on her whereabouts or who might be behind her disappearance are asked to call the FBI (1-800-CALL-FBI).

1970 No. 1 Hit, Once Named Best Country Song of the Year, Turns 56
It's been exactly 56 years since Conway Twitty released one of his biggest hits.
On March 23, 1970, the iconic country music singer released what would become a career-defining smash hit: his beloved track, "Hello Darlin.'"
"Hello Darlin'" was the lead single off Twitty's 1970 album of the same name, and it would go down in history as one of the most popular songs of his career.
The signature track soared to the top of the music charts shortly after its release, before earning the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in June 1970. It spent four weeks at the top, and was later crowned the #1 country single of the year, according to Billboard’s 1970 year-end charts (Dec. 26, 1970 issue).
View this post on Instagram"Hello Darlin'" was Twitty's fourth No. 1 song, following "It's Only Make Believe," which topped the Hot 100 chart for 2 weeks in 1958, plus the 1968 country chart topper "Next in Line," and 1969's "To See My Angel Cry" and "I Love You More Today."
Even decades after its initial release, Twitty's "Hello Darlin'" continues to be a fan-favorite country track, and has been included on a number of lists ranking "best country songs of all time."
In 2025, "Hello Darlin'" was ranked #44 on Billboard's list of the 100 Best Country Songs of All Time. It also earned the #18 spot on Taste of Country's Top 100 Country Songs, published in 2012.
Parade has "Hello Darlin' ranked at #76 on the 101 Best Country Songs of All Time list, published in 2026. It also includes Twitty's 1973 hit "You've Never Been This Far Before," ranked at #63.

This ‘Oldie-but-a-Goodie’ Royal Caribbean Ship Just Returned to Galveston with Fresh Upgrades
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Port of Galveston lately, you might have noticed a very familiar face looking a lot fresher. The Mariner of the Seas has officially returned to its Texas homeport after a 2026 dry dock refresh that proved even a 22-year-old "classic" can learn a few new tricks. While the ship already underwent a massive $120 million "Royal Amplification" back in 2018, this latest touch-up was all about the small, high-impact details that make a vacation feel seamless.
The most visible change for sun-seekers is on the pool deck, where Royal Caribbean has added brand-new, colorful private casitas. If you’ve ever participated in the 7:00 AM "chair hog" dash for a poolside lounger, these are your new best friends. They offer a shaded, reserved home base for your group—though, being "in the know" means knowing they start at about $150 on port days and jump to $400 for sea days.
Beyond the pool, the ship has also leveled up its tech game by finally introducing RFID Wow Bands. This is a huge win for anyone who hates digging for a SeaPass card while carrying a tray of tacos from El Loco Fresh. You can now tap your wrist to open your cabin door or pay for a round of drinks at the Polynesian-themed Bamboo Room. Inside the staterooms, travelers are also noticing "stealth" upgrades like motion-activated closet nightlights and new thermostats that make the older cabins feel a lot more like the newer Icon or Wonder classes.
Related: Royal Caribbean Announces a Fan-Favorite Ship is Heading to Singapore
The ‘Glow-Up’ Strategy: Why Old is the New NewWhile the Mariner’s news is a win for Galveston fans, it’s also part of a much larger trend. In recent years, there's been a massive shift where savvy travelers are intentionally seeking out these "modern classics" over the record-breaking megaships. In fact, four of the eightmost popular ships in the world right now are older, "amplified" vessels that have received these recent glow-ups.
As the experts at Cruise Critic recently noted, these ships are "reaping the benefits of recent refurbishments" because they offer the best of both worlds: the "hits" like the Sky Pad bungee trampoline and Jamie’s Italian, but with a smaller, more intimate feel.
The Mariner will be sailing short 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean itineraries out of Texas through October 2026, making it the perfect, high-value "short getaway" for anyone who wants the "new ship" feel without the new ship price tag.

47 Years Ago, a Gritty Love Song Hit No. 1—And Became an Instant Classic
In 1979, a heartfelt ballad about unwavering devotion struck a chord with listeners, climbing all the way to No. 1 and becoming one of the era’s most unforgettable love songs.
Kenny Rogers was coming off a huge hit with the song "The Gambler" when he released the tender track. The storytelling song became famous for its life lessons of knowing when to play your hand or walk away.
Therefore, to follow that up with a gritty ballad about a struggling songwriter who wrestles with self-doubt seemed like an unlikely choice. However, it's that message of how love can overcome that resonated with Rogers' fans.
"She Believes in Me" became a hit because of the song's quiet message—a man's uncertainty in the face of his love's unwavering faith. Listeners fell in love with Steve Gibb's lyrics, and the song raced up the Billboard Country Chart to No. 1 in June 1979.

The song also reached the top of the Adult Contemporary Chart, peaking in May of that same year. However, it only reached No. 5 on Billboard's Top 100.
In 2012, during a two-night performance as an Artist-in-Residence at Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Rogers declared that "She Believes in Me" was one of his favorite songs he had ever recorded, according to The Boot.
RELATED: 49 Years Ago, a Single-Word Country Hit Broke Hearts and Conquered the Charts
U Discover Music said the song "has the kind of chorus that sticks in your head even if you don’t think you’ve ever heard it before." In 1979, “She Believes in Me” was Rogers’ biggest hit to date.
The song was included on the LP The Gambler. Released in 1978, the album became a major crossover breakthrough, soaring to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart and climbing into the Top 15 on the Billboard 200 on the success of its title track, and "She Believes in Me."
RELATED: 1978 Unforgettable Country Warning Song Beat Its Own Songwriter to No. 1
The concept of The Gambler would spawn a series of five television movies over 17 years. Rogers played the lead character of Brady Hawkes in the films The Gambler (1980), The Gambler: The Adventure Continues (1983), The Gambler Part III: The Legend Continues (1987), The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw (1991), and Gambler V: Playing For Keeps (1997), per the singer’s official website.
Rogers discussed "She Believes in Me" with the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "The ballads I did, you know I came up through jazz, so I had a little more experience in singing those types of songs, which I think really helped me on like ‘Through the Years’ and ‘She Believes in Me’ and ‘You Decorated My Life.’ They were song songs. They weren’t country songs. They were just songs with great messages.”
Kenny Rogers died on March 20, 2020. He was 81.

Quote of the Day: Robert Frost on Resilience and Life Lessons
Robert Frost was an American poet who was born in 1874 and moved to Massachusetts as a boy; New England ended up influencing a lot of his poems, per the Poetry Foundation. He wrote a lot about rural life and complex themes having to do with society and philosophy. Frost was also known for writing about the ordinary and using colloquial language in his poems. He was authentic and spoke about so many life lessons, which makes today’s quote particularly insightful.
Even if you can’t remember the name of Frost’s poems, you have definitely heard of him and most likely studied him in high school English class, since he is regarded as one of the great American poets. He straddled the line between 19th-century poetry and modernism, writing down-to-Earth prose while still using traditional poetry formats, as the Poetry Foundation wrote.
Frost lived to be 88 years old, and even though he’s criticized for focusing on the past a lot, and in melancholic, dark ways at times, it’s undeniable that he had the wisdom that a long life yields. For someone who often contemplated the past, it makes sense that he had something pretty meaningful to say about resilience and the direction life moves: forward.

Quote of the Day by Robert FrostCanvaPro/Parade
“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”
Robert Frost reportedly said this quote to journalist and author, Ray Josephs. Despite Frost’s birthday being in March, this was published in September 1954 and touted as part of his 80th birthday celebration. It appeared in the Sunday newspaper supplement “This Week Magazine,” with the title “Robert Frost’s Secret.”
In it, Josephs asked him, “In all your years and all your travels… what do you think is the most important thing you’ve learned about life?”
The full quote that Frost replied with was:
“In three words, I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on. In all the confusions of today, with all our troubles… with politicians and people slinging the word fear around, all of us become discouraged… tempted to say this is the end, the finish. But life—it goes on. It always has. It always will. Don’t forget that.”

Deeper Meaning of Robert Frost’s Quote: ResilienceFrost lived to be 88, living several years past when he said these words to Josephs. While being 80 years old doesn’t mean you’re basically at the end of your life, especially nowadays, being that age comes with a lot of life lived and potential wisdom to share. And Frost doesn’t disappoint with this one.
After 80 years on Earth, he says that the most important life lesson that he’s acquired can be summed up simply as, “It goes on.” Life goes on.
And looking at his longer quote, he says that things can get so hectic, and world events or even just everyday life can bring lots of stress and anxiety. In 1954, the United States had just gotten out of the Korean War, but the Cold War was going strong and brought about the Second Red Scare. But even without bringing global conflicts into the mix, the 1950s were a prosperous and fast-moving time. The decade saw a lot more inventions and technology, along with a rise in disposable income for the average American, post-World War II, leading to more things people wanted to buy and just generally more things to worry about. The “simple life” of the early 1900s was long-gone, and the world was lurching toward innovation at breakneck speed.
He goes on to finish his thought, saying that even though politicians and regular people were talking all about their fear that the end of things was near, it isn’t in his eyes. Life goes on, “it always has. It always will. Don’t forget that.”
Even when life seems dire or like the end of the world (or your own personal world), it usually isn’t. Yes, horrible things happen, and sometimes you can’t recover from it, or that event changes your whole life, and not for the better. But life keeps moving forward; it keeps going. And you can choose to be a part of that and move on, too. It all goes on, and if you have the resilience to keep on moving forward, then you might just find something better on the horizon.
More Quotes from Robert Frost- “Most of the change we think we see in life / Is due to truths being in and out of favor.”
- “The greatest thing in family life is to take a hint when a hint is intended—and not to take a hint when a hint isn't intended.”
- “Happiness Makes Up in Height for What It Lacks in Length.”
- “Home is the place where, when you have to go there / They have to take you in.”
- “A jury consists of twelve persons chosen to decide who has the better lawyer.”
- “Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire / I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate / To say that for destruction ice / Is also great / And would suffice.”
