After the untimely and shocking death of Bon Scott, AC/DC considered disbanding. However, in the end, the remaining band members gathered together with new lead singer Brian Johnson to create their seventh studio album “Back in Black,” and “Hell’s Bells” was the first track on that.

It turned out that AC/DC wanted to do something outlandish to capture the real sound of the bells at the start. The original intention was to have a bell forged, but there were fears that it wouldn’t get done in time, so sound engineer Tony Platt looked at the Loughborough War Museum's Denison Bell in the UK for the sound, but there was one problem they didn’t anticipate: pigeons.

Every time they would clang the bell, pigeons would fly out of the bell tower, and that distorted the audio. Platt shared, “However, after placing microphones in the belfry, I discovered that what no one had considered were the birds living inside there. As soon as the bell was hit, the first thing we’d hear was this mad fluttering of wings as pigeons flew away. Then, by the time the bell stopped ringing enough for us to hit it again, all of the birds had returned.”

In the end, a bell had to be forged, and it was a seven-week turnaround time to make it happen. The bell that was created was an octave higher than anyone wanted, so it was slowed down on the track to make it sound lower and more like the bell in the belfry. That’s why the bell on the stage — the one that was forged — always sounded higher live compared to the track.

The forged bell included a large AC/DC logo, which created its own problem: a change in frequency. It added what bellfounders call a “wobble,” and it meant that the bell had to be hit in distinct places to sound right for the rest of the track. Red X’s were placed around the bell where it could be hit to create the perfect sound. Platt even tested different hammers to use to make sure everything worked out just right — using everything he'd learned from hitting the Dennison Bell despite the pigeons!

In the end, the classic rock hit didn’t hit big in the U.S. charts, with some believing it was just too soon after Scott’s death. However, the track would go on to become one of the best for AC/DC, and is still beloved by many.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelosmarked their daughter, Lola Consuelos',birthday with a look back at some very sweet family memories.

On Tuesday, June 16, Ripa shared an Instagram tribute for Lola's 25th birthday, posting a montage of rare home videos of her daughter over the years.

The clips showed Lola as a child with her family, including her parents and brothers Michael and Joaquin.

Ripa captioned the birthday post with a loving message for her daughter.

"Happy birthday to the love of our lives @theyoungestyung! Lola, you make everyday a party," she wrote.

The tribute was also set to Lola's own song, "End of the World," giving the post a personal connection to her music career.

Ripa and Consuelos also celebrated Lola during Tuesday's episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

"It is our daughter's 25th birthday!" Ripa said at the top of the show.

Consuelos chimed in with his own birthday message, saying, "Happy birthday, Lola! 25 years ago!"

Ripa then joked that Lola, who lives in London, might not even see the shoutout. Still, she added a familiar family line, calling Lola their "favorite daughter."

Consuelos added, "We love you."

After nearly two decades of avid fan anticipation, the Shrek franchise is officially set to return with its first official sequel in 17 years with the upcoming release of Shrek 5.

Debuting its first official trailer just yesterday, Shrek 5 is set to follow Mike Myers' titular ogre and his wife Fiona (Cameron Diaz) who join their three teenage children (Zendaya, Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo) on a magical adventure to the kingdom of Further, Further Away.

In addition to providing a quick glimpse into the story of the new sequel, the trailer for Shrek 5 also shows off the return of certain familiar faces, including Eddie Murphy's fan-favorite Donkey and Conrad Vernon's breakout Gingerbread Man.

As exciting as certain details about the movie might be, one key aspect of Shrek 5's new trailer that has been dividing longtime fans of the franchise has to do with its animation style.

Like the more recent Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Shrek 5 introduces a new art style that offers a radical departure from the more simplistic look of the original Shrekmovies.

While most fans appreciated The Last Wish's vibrant animation style, however, many viewers quickly criticized Shrek 5's new look, calling for the producers to "redo" the film with its older animation presentation.

On Instagram, one user responded to the new trailer by writing, "I see they still don't listen to their fans that want the ORIGINAL ART STYLE BACK!!"

Numerous other accounts echoed the above-mentioned fan's sentiments. "It's like describing Shrek to someone who's never seen Shrek, and telling them to draw it...," one user added.

"In what world did they think this is an upgrade? They all have too much movement, it's Uncanny Valley vibes but for animation," another fan said.

"Nope, redo it," wrote a third. "Keep the same design like Toy Story did."

Right now, Shrek 5 is currently slated for release on June 30, 2027.

Olivia Wilde has reflected on her 'crazy' relationship with Harry Styles. The pair dated in 2021 after meeting on the set of Don't Worry Darling, which she directed. Despite splitting in 2022, she had only kind words to say about the One Direction singer.

Arnold Schwarzeneggerjust made a rare public appearance alongside his stunning girlfriend, Heather Milligan.

Schwarzenegger, who was previously married to Maria Shriver, met Milligan back in 2012 after he underwent shoulder surgery while preparing to film Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone, PEOPLE shared. Milligan, a physical therapist, was recommended by Stallone to aid with his recovery. After the movie was done, Schwarzenegger reached out.

“I went to her, and then after my therapy was finished, after I was finished with the movie, I called her back and took her out for lunch to say thank you,” Schwarzenegger said. “And then one thing led to the next.”

Schwarzenegger has nothing but love for his girlfriend, who rarely makes public appearances alongside him. That's likely due to her busy schedule running Elite OrthoSport, one of the largest physical therapy clinics on the West Side of Los Angeles.

“We have so many things in common,” he said in 2023. “I think the world of her. I love that she’s into working. She’s clearly independent. She just is driven as hell.”

The Austrian icon has an exciting new project coming up alongside Geena Davis. Deadline just reported that Schwarzenegger is set to join The Kellys, a new action film from Amazon MGM. He'll star alongside Davis, Liam Hemsworth, Kelsey Asbille, and Abby Elliott. According to the provided synopsis, The Kellys follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced NYC cop whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. “He’ll have to join forces with the people he fears most to save her: His family,” the synopsis reads.

Robert Thurman, the father of actress Uma Thurman, has died at the age of 84.

The sad news was announced on social media by Tibet House US, which is the cultural center he co-founded.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Robert A.F. Thurman @bob__thurman, prominent American Buddhist scholar, co-founder of Tibet House US, author and translator whose teachings shaped countless lives, died Tuesday morning, June 16, in Woodstock, New York,” the statement read. "The Thurman family requests privacy at this time."

The post also included a Tibetan Buddhism mantra, “Om Mani Padme Hum,” which translates to “the jewel in the lotus."

Under the post, many paid tribute to the scholar.

"A lifelong inspiration for me, I chose to move to New York when I was searching for visual art master's programs because I knew if I went to Columbia I could sneak into his classes, which I did and which were by far the best part of my education. He did so much good work for the world. I know he'll shoot right through the bardos," one person wrote.

"Om Mani Padme Hum. I have immense gratitude for having known Robert Thurman and his generosity and teachings. My sincere condolences to his family," another person commented.

According to the website, Thurman became interested in Tibetan Buddhism as a Harvard University student, which sparked his career path. After traveling to Asia and meeting the Dalai Lama, he became a monk, but renounced his status to marry. From there, he became a professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, where he taught for three decades.

In 1997, he was named one of Time Magazine's 25 most influential Americans and was also named by The New York Times as the leading American expert on Tibetan Buddhism. He was awarded the Padma Shri Award in 2020.

In a 2005 interview with theIrish Examiner, Uma Thurman opened up about her childhood.

"There's been a lot written about my upbringing, making it sound as if it were some hippie-dippy childhood, but that's totally absurd," she said. "There's an assumption that because someone is a Buddhist, they are a leftie loose cannon, unusually weird, and that's complete baloney!"

"I was brought up in academic housing," Uma added. "I went to school, my father was a professor. It was all extremely normal."

Jon Bon Jovi has a lot to be grateful for these days.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is enjoying life after a harrowing four-year period where he wasn't sure if he would ever sing again. He was diagnosed with vocal cord atrophy and had a plastic implant placed on the outside of the vocal cords to push the muscles together and help them close properly.

Today, he has recovered and can take on his biggest challenge in years, a nine-date stand at New York's Madison Square Garden beginning in July 2026, followed by dates in Edinburgh, Dublin, and London. The entertainer is embracing a new chapter and reflecting on the challenges that tested both his career and his resilience.

However, the one constant in his life has been his wife, of 37 years, Dorothea Bongiovi. He told PEOPLE Magazine, "My wife Dorothea. I got it right the first time."

"I am so lucky. It will be 37 years now. Together 46. It's been a long time. It's awesome, just great."

Dorothea was recently awarded the James Beard Foundation Award for Trailblazer of the Year for her creation of the Soul Kitchen. The honor recognizes her ongoing commitment to fighting food insecurity and supporting communities in need.

"Giving back was always important, but doing it through food, which we realized many years ago, you didn't need a scientist to find a cure. [Dorothea] created the model of the restaurants. We have four and are about to do a fifth," Bon Jovi explained.

"Her great dream is that we go out of business. But unfortunately, we never well,: he explained.

"It's thriving and we are expanding into different areas. Getting housing, getting expungements...45 people's criminal records were expunged because of the Soul Kitchen."

"Getting them off the street on Code Blue nights, where we pay for a warming center. We've built 1000 units of affordable housing. That's all because of the foundation, which led to the kitchens, which led to other things," the entertainer added.

Jon Bon Jovi concluded, "All the kitchen and the second phase of it was all Dorothea. So, to be able to celebrate her this way is going to be a wonderful treat for her."

The couple is parents to Stephanie, Jessie, Jake, and Romeo, and grandparents of two. Bon Jovi released their 16th studio album, Forever, on June 7, 2024.

Chicago has lost one of the musicians who helped create its unmistakable sound.

Walt Parazaider, the band's founding saxophonist, flutist and woodwind player, died Wednesday at the age of 81.

"Thank you for loving my father, even if you didn’t personally know him," wrote his daughter, the Rev. Felicia Helen Parazaider in a Facebook post announcing his death. ""I'm in shock and disbelief and yet not at all. This was the worst six years."

Parazaider had stepped away from touring in 2017 because of health issues and revealed in 2021 that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

"Five months ago, I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease," he wrote in a statement at the time. "Needless to say, my wife, daughters and myself were shocked and devastated. It has taken a while to process this news and the fact is, we still are. The good news is we have a wonderful medical facility here and I have a very good doctor. I am working hard and not going to give up. With new treatments and therapy, along with my family's love and support, I feel very positive about the future."

For nearly 50 years, Parazaider remained a constant presence in Chicago, helping the band evolve from an ambitious rock group with a horn section into one of the most successful acts of the classic rock era. His saxophone, flute and woodwind arrangements became an essential part of the band's sound, appearing on classics including "25 or 6 to 4" "Saturday in the Park," "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" and "Colour My World."

Born in Chicago in 1945, Parazaider studied clarinet before helping form the band that would eventually become Chicago in the late 1960s. At a time when few rock groups featured a full horn section, the band's fusion of rock, jazz and pop helped set it apart, paving the way for a string of hit albums and singles throughout the 1970s and beyond.

As Chicago's popularity grew, so did its influence. The band went on to sell more than 100 million records worldwide, earn multiple No. 1 hits and become one of the most commercially successful American rock bands of all time. In 2016, Parazaider joined his bandmates in being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, recognizing a career that spanned nearly five decades.

"I wish that the band could have been put in a time capsule and we were doing right now what we were doing then," trumpet player Lee Loughnane told Rolling Stone in April. "It's just not the way life works."

Throughout that remarkable run, Parazaider was rarely the focal point of the band, but his contributions were woven into its identity from the very beginning. Whether adding a soaring flute melody or helping build the horn arrangements that became Chicago's trademark, his musicianship played a key role in defining the sound generations of fans came to know.

Parazaider's death marks the loss of one of Chicago's last remaining founding members. More than half a century after helping launch the band, the music he created continues to define one of classic rock's most distinctive catalogs.

It’s all about dystopia right now, so it’s not surprising that Warner Bros. has finally snapped up the rights to a 15-year-old YA dystopian novel series. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is finally getting a movie adaptation.

The news broke on the 15th anniversary of the first novel being published. Since 2011, the series has captured the hearts of readers, and it became a BookTok sensation, leading to more than 15 million copies sold. However, it’s been a long journey to getting the adaptation, for good reason.

Mafi shared in an Instagram post that she wanted to make sure the adaptation remained faithful for the readers. That’s why she is joining the production as an Executive Producer, so she will have a say in the direction and the storytelling.

Shatter Me follows Juliette Ferrars, a teenage girl in an oppressive totalitarian world where she has something special about her: a lethal touch. After years of dealing with The Reestablishment taking control of its citizens, Juliette decides that it’s time to fight back, and so she finds the strength to navigate the rebellion.

It’s viewed as a great option for The Hunger Games or Divergent fans. It focuses on inner strength and the wish for something better, creating a strong and independent female character for readers to root for. There’s also a love triangle that many fans have wanted to see play out on the screen, and fans are already making suggestions for the actors who could be cast, such as Tom Blyth for Aaron Warner.

Mafi has created a whole universe to dive into, and not just from Juliette’s point of view. There are six books in the series as a whole, and then there are five novellas that focus on stories from different POVs. 

Mafi has also continued the story after the end of the main series, with the Shatter Me: The New Republic series, which starts with Watch Me. The third book in that series will come out in September 2026, so there’s plenty of material for Warner Bros. to create a whole cinematic universe.

So far, only Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are part of the production team. There is no director or scriptwriter attached.

Pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness are ubiquitous these days. They're especially prominent in May (around Mother's Day) and in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), and this awareness can remind women over 50 that it's time to schedule their annual mammogram, which is recommended starting at age 40 for people with an average risk for breast cancer and sooner for people with factors like a genetic history. Oncologists aren't complaining about the emphasis on breast cancer awareness—mammograms are vital.

"Breast cancer screenings and mammograms have been part of the cultural conversation around women's health for decades," Dr. Rahul Gosain, MD, MBA, the co-host of The Oncology Brothers, tells Parade. "That mainstream visibility has saved many lives, but it's also created a blind spot. Women over 50 face meaningful risk from a range of other cancers, and many of those screening tools are just as effective, just as accessible and far less utilized."

Another oncologist echoes these sentiments—it's vital for women, especially those over 50, to understand their risk for other cancer forms so that they can get screened.

"Women are also at risk for other cancers, such as colon and pancreatic," states Dr. Daniel J. Boffa, MD, a professor of thoracic surgery at Yale School of Medicine. "If you think about all of the women who lose their battle with cancer each year, two-thirds are from cancers other than breast cancer."

One simple screen that takes less than 30 minutes to complete can detect one form of cancer and other health issues. But oncologists say that many women over 50 don't know they qualify for it. Below, oncologists reveal why they're begging women over 50 to get this one test if they're eligible.

Oncologists want women over 50 to discuss a low-dose CT scan with their doctors. The United States Preventive Services Task Force currently recommends that any adult aged 50 to 80 years who has a 20-pack-year smoking history (roughly equivalent to one pack a day for 20 years), currently smokes or has quit within the last 15 years.

"The screening guidelines may change, so we recommend that patients who are 50 or older, who smoked in the past or are still smoking, ask their primary care clinician about screening," Dr. Boffa tells Parade.

He adds that a low-dose CT scan is a radiology test. It takes images of "everything inside your chest, from the tops of your shoulders, to just above your belly button." It can detect abnormalities in the lungs, including cancers or pre-cancerous growths. But Dr. Boffa says it can even detect changes in the heart, such as artery hardening (atherosclerosis) and blood vessel enlargement, including aneurysms.

"The scan also commonly catches the top part of your abdomen and may pick up abnormal areas in the top of your liver and adrenal glands," he says. "It is called low dose because it uses less radiation than a normal CT scan, which is roughly the radiation you would be exposed to on a flight from New York to California and back, from being closer to the sun."

Dr. Gosain concurs—the low-dose CT scan does a lot with just a bit of radiation. He points out that lung cancer is actually the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. for men and women.

"It also kills more women each year than breast, ovarian and uterine cancers combined," he shares. 

Dr. Richard Reitherman, MD, Ph.D., a board-certified radiologist and medical director of breast imaging at MemorialCare Breast Center at Orange Coast Medical Center, says the numbers show a clear message: Early detection of lung cancer through a CT scan can save lives. He points to data that LDCT screening reduces lung cancer-related mortality by 20%, and cancers caught at stage I have survival rates above 70%, compared to less than 10% for stage IV.

"This is like the benefit of screening mammography and reduction of mortality," he says.

For this reason, oncologists like Dr. Reitherman don't recommend waiting to notice lung cancer symptoms, like a chronic cough or trouble breathing. Instead, women over 50 should ask their doctors about a low-dose CT scan.

"The risks are real but manageable, and they're worth understanding so they don't become a reason to avoid screening," Dr. Gosain says, noting that the main risks of a low-dose CT scan are:

• False positives, like a nodule caused by an old scar or healed infection, that require additional imaging (and it winds up not being cancerous)
• Limited radiation exposure ("The risk of the scan itself causing cancer is minimal, and for anyone who qualifies for screening, the benefit of early detection vastly outweighs it," he says.)
• Anxiety from the test

"The key is getting screened at an accredited facility with a shared decision-making conversation with your doctor, so you go in with clear expectations about what a positive result does and doesn't mean," Dr. Gosain explains.

A low-dose CT scan is pretty low maintenance. Dr. Reitherman says you can expect:

• Not to need contrast (You won't need an IV or to take a tablet)
• Not to prepare—no fasting
• No sedation or anesthesia
• A 10-minute procedure, including getting on and off a table

"Before the scan, you'll be asked to remove metal objects like watches and jewelry, as these can interfere with image quality," Dr. Gosain says. "Comfortable, loose clothing is suggested as you may be asked to change into a gown, but you more likely won't need to. You can eat and drink normally beforehand and take all your regular medications as usual."

Dr. Reitherman shares that you'll get your low-dose CT scan results via MyChart, mail or email. You'll get recommendations for follow-up needs. The results will say:

• Repeat the scan in one year
• Repeat the scan in six months
• Consult your doctor for further testing needed.

Dr. Boffa stresses that who you consult matters. He suggests speaking with a lung cancer surgeon, pulmonologist or another member of the lung cancer screening program team.

"It is very important to review results with someone who is a part of a lung cancer screening program," he says. "We breathe in a lot of things that can cause changes in our lungs, so it is not surprising to find abnormalities on the CT scan, but most of the abnormalities are not cancer. Having experts from a screening program review the scan and discuss the findings is key."

According to a press release, HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry are kicking off a summer meal campaign to deliver free, healthy meals and grocery assistance to communities across the U.S.

"Summer should be a time for joy and rest, but instead, it is the hungriest time of year for millions of kids," Rachel Sabella, director of No Kid Hungry New York, said in a press release received by Parade. "We are incredibly grateful for HelloFresh’s continued partnership to address this issue. By combining nutritious meal deliveries with localized youth advocacy, this campaign ensures that families not only get the immediate food assistance they need, but also the long-term resources to navigate the summer months with dignity."

The summer campaign runs in addition to HelloFresh's year-round program, Meals with Meaning, which works with communities to deliver 36,000 meals a week to those facing hardships. HelloFresh also hosts a LimeAid initiative that offers three months of free meal kits to families in need, with applications accepted through both applications and nominations.

"At HelloFresh, our mission is to change the way people eat forever, and a fundamental part of that is ensuring that everyone—especially children—has access to fresh, nutritious food all
year round. "But we encourage families to start with these trusted community resources to get an understanding of what might work best for their family," she continues. "Especially since the tools states have to make programs like SNAP more accessible will likely be affected by recent cuts to the national program."

It sounds like HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry know there's a stigma attached to asking for help with putting food on the table, but Sabella says you shouldn't let that fear or embarrassment keep you from reaching out.

"But having food is a basic human right, and families should stay informed and do what’s best for them based on their circumstances," she says. "These programs exist to help kids when they need it most. And by providing children with nutritious food, SNAP and programs like it are actually helping improve outcomes for kids."

The multi-platinum rock band Skillet has earned a new milestone in their extensive career as one of the 2000s' biggest names. Released in 2009, their signature track "Monster" has become the first to surpass four billion streams and earned a spot in Spotify's Billions Club.

The Christian rock band rose to fame in the 2000s alongside bands like Breaking Benjamin, Red, Evanescence, and many more. "Monster" was released as the second track of their ninth studio album, Awake, and became Skillet's breakthrough single. It landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Track charts and No.1 on the Christian Rock radio chart.

"Monster" became Skillet's most successful single of their career and the first to land them on the Alternative Songs chart. Not only was the song popular among fans, but it also became one of the most-played music videos on MTV during its run.

According to SongFacts, frontman John Cooper revealed in a 2013 interview that the track was inspired by Edward Norton's 2008 film The Incredible Hulk. He recalls a scene from the film where Tom Roth's character is injected with the chemicals and becomes Abomination. After being asked how he feels, he says, "Like a monster."

Cooper later elaborated further on the message behind "Monster," saying, "It's a song about being fake and putting on a face for people that's not the real you. But it's basically about the nature of sin and the nature of the divine, which is the duel nature we have as Christians. Everyday we have to strive to throw away the old and be that new person in Christ."

The frontman once revealed how the song had impacted a security guard who was working one of Skillet's concerts. The man was struggling with a heroin addiction and was inspired to enter rehab after listening to "Monster."

The track became a staple of the 2000s, having been used in various pop culture moments and in heavy rotation by the WWE. In 2016, the song had surpassed 2.6 million sales and was recognized as one of the biggest singles in the history of Christian music. Their new milestone of surpassing four billion streams comes on the heels of their sold-out European tour that ended in late May.

Jeremy Clarkson, the former host of Top Gear, shared the news that he is battling an "aggressive" form of cancer. He opened up about the diagnosis in the final episodes of the Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm Season 5.

Clarkson said that he has known about this since May, adding that he had “disappeared off the other week,” to go to the doctor and “had a biopsy.” From there, they found an “aggressive” cancer, but he added that it's “really early.”

“I’ll have to go and have an operation, and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your body’s out of action for a little while," he added, with the show ending by showing him in a hospital bed.

Before the show aired, Clarkson shared a video message on Instagram, where he warned fans that the final episodes were “really, really difficult.” Following the show's premiere, many fans have left supportive comments.

On this day in 1994, O.J. Simpson infamously dodged California police for the alleged murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

On June 17, Simpson and his childhood friend and fellow football star Al Cowlings led police on a low-speed pursuit in Cowlings' white Ford Bronco. For approximately two hours, Cowlings and Simpson drove across Southern California with police in hot pursuit.

In her new viral essay for New York Magazine, Ratajkowski revealed that after her 2022 split from Sebastian Bear-McClard, she entered a period of “compulsive dating,” and “decided to f--- my way into a new kind of woman."

Bennett told Crime Reads that he wanted to look at "what we do to each other when we feel the rules are getting fuzzy, and what steps we have to take to reassert the law—and why." Bureaucracy gets laughs with last year’s winner, Emily Tesh. Her book The Incandescent is a magic school story, but she skips the teenage chosen-one trope to focus on the worst job in the universe: the teacher. Her main character is stuck filling out administrative risk assessments and university applications while trying to keep her students from being eaten by a demonic realm.

Adrian Tchaikovsky went the completely opposite direction by getting tired of Earth entirely. For his new book, Shroud, he marooned two corporate contractors on a lightless, high-gravity moon filled with lethal radiation and zero oxygen. Then he introduces the locals. It is brutal, claustrophobic first-contact sci-fi that makes the universe look like a giant death trap.

If you prefer historical friction, Alix E. Harrow is busy burning down standard fantasy tropes. The Everlasting features an academic who time-travels to meet a legendary lady-knight. Except the knight isn’t a noble, chivalrous hero from a Disney movie. Harrow told Shereads that her childhood imagination crashed hard into her actual history degree. The reality? Knights were often just violent enforcers of state power used later as political propaganda.

The absolute longest book on the table belongs to Antonia Hodgson. The Raven Scholar is her first jump into fantasy after writing historical mysteries. It is a 700-page political page turner about seven rivals fighting for a single throne. Someone gets murdered, and the protagonist has to find the killer while being forced to take the dead person's spot in the line of succession.
