Beloved '90s Actress, With Major Emmy Award Nomination, Turns 71

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:40pm

Few actresses of the 1990s brought as much depth and quiet intensity to the screen as Lena Olin.

The acclaimed star, known for her powerful performances in both film and television, is celebrating her 71st birthday.

Born on March 22, 1955, in Stockholm, Sweden, Olin was raised in a family deeply connected to the arts. Her parents, actors Stig Olin and Britta Holmberg, helped shape her early interest in performance. She initially studied at Sweden's National Academy of Dramatic Art before beginning her career on stage and eventually transitioning to film.

Olin's international breakthrough came with her role in The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988), where her performance drew widespread attention. She continued to build momentum into the early 1990s, receiving critical acclaim for her role in Enemies, A Love Story, which earned her an Academy Award nomination.

Her success carried into television as well, most notably with her Emmy-nominated role in the hit series Alias. Playing the complex and mysterious Irina Derevko, Olin captivated audiences and proved her ability to command both the big and small screen.

Throughout her career, Olin became known for choosing roles that emphasized emotional depth and layered storytelling rather than chasing mainstream fame. Whether in romantic dramas, thrillers, or character-driven films, she consistently delivered performances that resonated with audiences.

Now at 71, Lena Olin's work continues to stand as a testament to her talent and lasting influence. Her career reflects a rare balance of artistic integrity and international success, earning her a place among the most respected actresses of her generation.

1974 Classic Hit No. 1 52 Years Ago Today

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:34pm

On March 23, 1974, a now-classic country song climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, marking another major milestone in Conway Twitty’s extraordinary run of hits.

The song, "There's a Honky Tonk Angel (Who'll Take Me Back In)", had been released earlier that year and quickly connected with country audiences. It became Twitty’s 10th No. 1 hit as a solo artist and his 13th overall, holding the top spot for one week and spending a total of 12 weeks on the chart.

Written by Troy Seals and Denny Rice, the track was first recorded by Seals in 1973. But it was Twitty’s version that turned it into a radio staple. His smooth, expressive vocal delivery gave the song an emotional pull that resonated with listeners and helped push it to the top of the charts.

By 1974, Twitty was already firmly established as one of the biggest stars in country music. After launching his career in the 1950s rockabilly scene, he scored a massive crossover hit with "It's Only Make Believe" before shifting his focus entirely to country music in the mid-1960s.

That transition proved to be a turning point. Beginning in the late 1960s, Twitty became one of the most consistent hitmakers in the genre, rarely missing the Top 10 and frequently landing at No. 1. His ability to deliver deeply emotional, often romantic songs made him a favorite with fans and radio alike.

"There's a Honky Tonk Angel (Who'll Take Me Back In)" is a perfect example of that formula. The song blends heartbreak, longing and storytelling in a way that became a hallmark of Twitty’s sound throughout the decade.

Elvis Presley also recorded "There's a Honky Tonk Angel (Who'll Take Me Back In)", cutting his version in 1973 at Stax Studios. While it wasn’t released as a single until 1979—after his death—it still found success, reaching No. 6 on the country chart. Presley’s take brought a slightly different energy to the song, but its strong showing years later underscored just how powerful the track was across generations and artists.

Over the course of his career, Twitty would go on to earn 40 No. 1 hits on the country chart, a record that stood for 20 years. His influence on the genre remains significant, particularly for artists who followed in his footsteps with similarly emotional, narrative-driven songs.

Martha Stewart Makes Appearance at Knicks Game After Accident

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:24pm

Martha Stewart made a lively appearance at the New York Knicks as the team went against the Washington Wizards.

The lifestyle guru was among the fans who witnessed the team claim their sixth consecutive win, defeating their opponent with a 145-113 victory.

During the game, the crowd erupted with excitement as Madison Square Garden came alive on Sunday.

Beyond the enthusiasm and the energy of the jam-packed arena, the iconic TV personality’s presence drew attention from fans and media alike.

In an Instagram post shared on the Knicks' official account, the team featured the star-studded lineup of celebrities.

Joining Stewart on the courtside were Susan Sarandon, The Sopranos star Steve Schirripa with wife Laura Schirripa, Tracy Morgan, rapper and songwriter Kurtis Blow, former NBA players Stephon Marbury and Tim Thomas Sr.

“Star-studded Sunday,” the caption reads.

The comment section was filled with reactions from fans buzzing about the OG lineup of guests.

“I’m sorry, MARTHA STEWART?!” one wrote.

“Awwwwe Nana Susan Sarandon looks so cute,” a commenter added.

“Ok @susansarandon. I see you. That jacket is on fire,” another user remarked.

“the OG’s are in the crowd tonight,” a follower noted.

While the recent game marked the Knicks’ consecutive victory, this is also Stewart’s return to watch the team after a minor accident during her last visit.

Back in 2025, she was spotted courtside for the team’s Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Indiana Pacers.

However, her outfit did not quite match the occasion, as her open-toe shoes had caused the accident in which she suffered a broken toe.

The best-selling author revealed that the person behind it was the Knicks star Jalen Brunson.

“See those open-toe shoes? Never ever wear open-toe shoes to a game like that when you’re sitting on the floor,” she told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon host as she warned the public not to commit the same mistake that she did.

“He broke my toe,” she confessed, referring to Brunson, adding, “and it was like in the last five minutes of the game with the Pacers, and they went into overtime, which made it even more painful because I couldn’t get up and leave to take care of my toe.”

Calling it the “Brunson fracture,” she also mentioned informing the father of the Knicks guard, Eric Brunson, who is also the team’s assistant coach.

“They were laughing,” she said, adding, “They thought it was so funny.”

To make amends for the mishap, Stewart revealed that she had gotten a signed basketball for her grandchild. This is also a lesson to her to steer clear of open-toe shoes in the future.

Iconic '70s Singer, With Classic No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 83

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 10:11pm

Renowned as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, George Benson rose to the top with nothing but pure talent.

George Benson, best known for his No. 1 hit "Give Me the Night," is celebrating his 83rd birthday.

Born on March 22, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Benson demonstrated his musical skill from a remarkably young age. He won a singing contest at only four and began performing at nightclubs by the time he was eight. As he continued his early career, he developed a deep love for jazz guitar and quickly built a strong reputation for his incredible skill and passionate playing.

In an interview with Red Bull Music Academy, Benson explained his introduction to guitar. "My stepfather was a guitar player, and ... that sound was like the most incredible thing I ever heard," he said. "He later made my first guitar. We were impoverished in those days, and the electric guitar I wanted cost $55. ... I drew the guitar on a piece of brown paper, and he traced it on a piece of oak wood and carved it with hacksaw blades."

Despite his humble beginnings, his devotion to music drove him to pursue a serious career. He began performing as a singer and guitarist in a series of bands, strengthening his performing abilities and growing his audience. Over time, he expanded his sound, blending jazz, pop, and R&B into a signature style that would eventually lead him to great success.

His most significant breakthrough came in 1980 with the release of "Give Me the Night," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart. The iconic title track became beloved for its celebratory, positive vibes delivered by Benson's velvety voice and brilliant jazz guitar. It gained a massive audience and marked a major turning point in the guitarist's career.

The album itself was also an outstanding success, earning multiple Grammy Awards and highlighting Benson's versatility by blending his jazz roots with more mainstream pop music.

It cemented the musician's role as one of the most influential guitarists of all time, a status already suggested by the impressive catalog he had built in the '70s. His album Breezin' helped define jazz throughout the era, with its title track becoming one of the decade's most recognizable tunes.

With a career spanning over six decades, Benson has won 10 Grammy Awards and contributed to some of the most memorable, beloved music of the '70s and '80s. His deep appreciation for music is evident in his work, setting him apart in the industry and drawing millions of fans who still love him today. Whether through intricate guitar solos or radio hits, his music has remained both accessible and extremely impressive.

Now at 83, George Benson’s legacy is still felt across jazz, R&B, and pop, influencing and uplifting listeners across generations. His remarkable story continues to inspire artists to pursue their dreams.

There's a reason Jericho looks so familiar and why so many are thrilled with his casting for the CBS hit drama.

The pro-wrestler first rose to fame in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) during the late ’90s and 2000s, becoming the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion in 2001.

Later in his career, the Canadian wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), going on to become the inaugural AEW World Champion.

1994 Career-Defining Classic Was a Hit No. 1 Hit 32 Years Ago Today

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 8:15pm

Pantera, the legendary American heavy metal band, sent fans on a major nostalgia trip as they looked back on a career-defining moment that occurred over three decades ago.

Known for their heavy and rhythmic riffs and considered among the driving forces in the 1990s heavy metal scene, the four-member band cemented their legacy when they scored a rare No. 1 album milestone.

In an Instagram update, Pantera spotlighted one of their most standout releases.

Thirty-two years ago today, the Grammy-nominated band released their third studio album, Far Beyond Driven.

The 1994 album contains their smash hits "5 Minutes Alone" and "I'm Broken," with the latter being one of the group’s signature songs and peaking at No. 19 on the U.K. Singles Chart.

Beyond the songs’ success, the parent album made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

“‘Far Beyond Driven’ was released on this day, 32 years ago! We shattered expectations and debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts,” the caption reads.

The post resonated with fans, with many responding to the throwback.

View this post on Instagram

“I’m Broken is my favorite Metal song ever,” one wrote.

A follower couldn't believe that it had been over three decades since the release, noting, “Can’t be that long ago because I’m only 23 still.”

“This album is iconic,” a commenter said.

“This record is a masterpiece,” a fan echoed.

The same goes for another who wrote, “The best metal album of all time. Coincidentally, it is also the most well-done mixed/mastered heavy album. The louder and better your stereo, the better it sounds.”

Far Beyond Driven was Pantera’s only studio album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

“All of a sudden, the media was going, 'Who's this Pantera band?'” former drummer Vinnie Paul told Revolver as he recalled the album’s release.

At the time, Paul spoke about the pressure to “sell out,” but instead of being discouraged, it motivated the band to push boundaries and embrace an even more extreme sound.

“Everybody expected us to write the 'sell-out' record and kind of go the Metallica route, with a more commercial sound," he shared with the outlet, adding, "That made us want to approach it even more from the other side of the spectrum and be even more extreme. That's where the title came from. We had the name before we even started working on the record."

With Pantera’s continued legacy, it proved that a heavy metal band willing to bet everything on pure conviction could redefine what it means to win.

'Marshals' Episode 4 Ending Explained: Kayce Dutton Faces Investigation — And a Possible New Romance

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 8:00pm

Episode 3 of Marshals raised the stakes in a major way by putting Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) at the center of an escalating conflict with the Clegg family. What began as tension surrounding the Broken Rock mining dispute turned violent when two of Randall Clegg’s (Michael Cudlitz) sons opened fire on civilians and later targeted Kayce himself, prompting him to chase them down and kill one of the brothers. By the end of the episode, Kayce was facing the fallout of his actions with the Cleggs positioned as an even more dangerous threat moving forward. The episode ends with a single bullet left on Kayce's doorstep.

In Episode 4, “The Gathering Storm,” the Yellowstone spinoff gives viewers a much clearer sense of who Randall Clegg really is. Determined to damage Kayce after the death of his son, Randall files a complaint with the Department of Justice claiming the marshal violated his son’s civil rights by shooting an unarmed man. Randall insists his son had dropped his weapon before Kayce fired, giving Chief Marshal Harry Gifford (Brett Cullen) all the reason he needs to sideline Kayce and open an investigation.

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news& celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Because of Kayce’s friendship with Cal (Logan Marshall-Green), Gifford puts Cruz (Ash Santos) in charge of the investigation and strongly hints that if she finds the result he wants, it could help get her reassigned to Washington, D.C. sooner. He also warns of "Dutton skeletons” that could bury the team. As Cruz, Miles (Tatanka Means) and Skinner (Arielle Kebbel) dig into Kayce’s past, they uncover one of his clearest examples of “frontier justice” — his retaliation against the militia group that kidnapped Tate (Brecken Merrill), a direct callback to one of Yellowstone’s darker storylines.

Meanwhile, Kayce and Cal help with a Forest Service rescue mission involving Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey), a California transplant who crashes his helicopter in the Montana wilderness. But the bigger story remains the investigation, which ultimately collapses when the team finds trail cam footage proving the younger Clegg was armed when Kayce shot him. The evidence clears Kayce for now, but it also makes Randall look even more like the true villain of the season.

Keep reading for our spoiler-filled recap of Marshals Season 1, Episode 4, "The Gathering Storm."

That Yellowstone callback

The kidnapping of Kayce’s son that comes up in Episode 4 of Marshals is a direct nod to one of the most intense storylines from Yellowstone Season 2. In Episode 9, “Enemies by Monday,” the Duttons’ feud with Malcolm (Neal McDonough) and Teal Beck (Terry Serpico) takes a horrifying turn when Tate is kidnapped from the Yellowstone Ranch, leaving Kayce and Monica desperate to get him back.

That story continues in Episode 10, “Sins of the Father,” when Kayce goes into full rescue mode, tracks down Teal and learns Tate is being held by a militia group in the Crazy Mountains — then shoots Teal while he’s sitting on the toilet in one of the episode’s most unforgettable moments. Kayce then joins the mission to rescue his son, while John Dutton (Kevin Costner) confronts Malcolm and shoots him in the stomach, leaving him to die. It’s one of the darkest and most emotionally charged stretches of the series.

Cal and Maddie's shocking connection

Throughout the first three episodes, Cal has had a tense, often awkward dynamic with Maddie (Morgan Lindholm), the bartender at the local watering hole, the Bullet ’n Barrel Saloon. At first, it seemed like Maddie was simply keeping her guard up around a customer she viewed as abrasive. But as the season went on, her jabs at Cal became more pointed, while his response — mostly sitting quietly and nursing a beer — suggested there was more going on beneath the surface.

Episode 4 finally explains why. While sitting at the bar with Skinner, Cal starts talking about Tom and Dolly Weaver’s close father-daughter bond and suddenly blurts out, “The bartender’s my kid. Been out of her life for more than 20 years. I took this posting to move closer to her, but it’s becoming clear she’d rather have me out of her life than in her bar.” The confession reframes all of Maddie’s earlier hostility and turns what first looked like random tension into something more personal. Skinner, caught off guard by the revelation, offers the best advice she can: “Give it time.”

A new Kayce Dutton romance?

Throughout his time on Yellowstone, Kayce Dutton’s heart belonged to one woman: his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille). Even after Monica’s offscreen death, Marshals didn’t seem in any hurry to introduce a new romance for him, especially with one teammate married (Skinner) and another (Cruz) already starting something with a local. Episode 4 changes that, thanks to Tom Weaver and his daughter Dolly (Ellyn Jameson). Dolly appears mid-episode while helping search for her missing father, and after Tom is rescued, both father and daughter are grateful for Kayce’s help.

The bigger surprise comes later at the saloon. After repeated nudging from the team to finally join them for a night out, Kayce shows up — and he doesn’t come alone. The episode closes with the two sharing some easy, flirtatious banter, and when Dolly asks if Kayce might teach her more about Montana, he answers with a teasing, mysterious: “Maybe.”

5 Traits of Parents Whose Kids Rarely Get Sick, Psychologist Shares

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 7:41pm

One of the main traits of a good mom or good dad is working to keep their child well. No one is perfect at this, of course, and that’s OK. We all get sick at times and just have to do what we can. For example, you might encourage your child to wash their hands thoroughly or add a couple of extra immunity-boosting foods to their dinner plate. You probably taught them to cough or sneeze into their elbow, and you might encourage them not to touch surfaces when you two are running errands. These are all key steps that help prevent a kid from getting sick (at least not as often or as seriously).

What’s interesting, though, is that’s far from all you can do to help your child stay healthy. According to a psychologist, certain emotional traits and behaviors can help your child stay in good physical shape, too. Yep, your emotional health and your physical health—just like your mind and body—are more tightly connected than you might realize. When you’re supporting their emotional health, you’re not only supporting them with emotion management.

Ahead, that psychologist shares with Parade what it can mean if your kid hardly ever catches a cold, stomach bug or flu, five traits of parents whose kids rarely get sick and other ways you can boost their emotional and social health.

What Can It Mean if Your Kids Rarely Get Sick?

As mentioned, helping your child avoid sickness is more about encouraging them to wash their hands and wipe surfaces.

“When children rarely get sick, it is often a reflection of the ‘biological safety’ created by their environment,” says Dr. Golee Abrishami, PhD, a psychologist and the Vice President of Clinical Care at Octave.

Biological safety is a mix of the tools and approaches that create safety and protect the environment’s health. That includes various facets and variables, including the three mentioned here:

Low toxic stress load

Remember how the body and the mind are tightly connected? That’s shown here.

“When a child feels emotionally secure, their nervous system stays in a ‘rest and digest’ state,” Dr. Abrishami says. This is known as the parasympathetic nervous system; it helps the body relax and recover.

On the other hand, a stressful environment creates stress in the body.

Chronic stress floods the body with cortisol, which suppresses the immune system,” she continues (cortisol is the stress hormone).

The benefit of co-regulation

When you’re able to regulate and calm your emotions, your child is better able to, as well—and that has health benefits.

“By providing a predictable and nurturing presence, you act as a biological buffer, protecting their developing immune systems from the inflammatory effects of emotional distress,” Dr. Abrishami explains. Chronic inflammation can lead to various diseases, research says, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders and autoimmune conditions.

Attachment and the nervous system

Yet another body-mind connection that deals with inflammation and immunity: “Positive parenting and secure attachment stimulate the vagus nerve, which acts as a direct line between the brain and immune system,” Dr. Abrishami says. “A healthy vagal tone helps the body regulate inflammation and recover from minor pathogens more effectively.”

You can engage your vagus nerve with a deep breathing technique, she adds, which is naturally relaxing and brings you back to the “rest and digest” state.

5 Common Traits of Parents Whose Kids Rarely Get Sick, According to a Psychologist

MoMo Productions/Getty Images

Besides things like cleanliness, what are some emotional traits of parents whose kids rarely fall ill? Dr. Abrishami shares five major examples below.

1. Emotionally predictable

When a child knows what to expect from their parents, their body is less likely to get inflamed from stress. They might be able to trust that their parents won’t yell at them, for example, even when they mess up. That increases feelings of safety. On the other hand...

Chronic hypervigilance floods the body with cortisol, which suppresses the immune response,” according to Dr. Abrishami.

2. Employs active co-regulation

As you may have witnessed, children aren’t fully able to calm themselves independently—but you can help.

“Parents who co-regulate, which means staying calm when the child is upset, help settle the child’s heart rate and breathing,” Dr. Abrishami says. “This prevents the inflammatory spikes associated with toxic stress that can wear down immune defenses over time.”

3. Empathic while holding boundaries

Empathic listening is crucial not only for relationships but also for overall health and well-being.

“These parents can empathize with a child’s distress without becoming overwhelmed by it themselves,” Dr. Abrishami states. “By maintaining their own regulated baseline, they prevent the ‘stress contagion’ effect, ensuring the household environment remains a place of recovery rather than a source of physiological strain.”

Related: 35 Simple, Sincere Phrases To Express Empathy, According to Therapists

4. Committed to their own healing

Parenthood isn’t only about keeping your child well, but keeping yourself well, too.

“Parents who address their own intergenerational trauma through therapy break the cycle of inherited stress,” Dr. Abrishami explains. “By resolving their own triggers, they provide a sort of biological buffer that allows their children's immune system to focus on growth rather than defense.”

5. Consistent and reliable

Parents employing the aforementioned traits (and other positive ones) consistently and reliably also support their child’s health.

“Expectations and routines send a message to their children that they are safe,” Dr. Abrishami shares. “This sense of stability allows a child’s body to spend less time in ‘alert mode’ and more time in other natural states, which support healthy development.”

How To Positively Impact Your Kids’ Social and Emotional Health

Those five traits aren’t the only ways to keep your child healthy in a physical, social and emotional sense. Dr. Abrishami shares additional recommendations.

Prioritize ‘repair’ over perfection

Relationships will have conflict. That’s not only inevitable, but good, because it provides us with the healing opportunity to repair.

“When you lose your cool, apologize and reconnect,” Dr. Abrishami encourages. “This teaches your child that relationships can be strained but still remain safe and mending, reducing the social anxiety that comes from not knowing what reaction to expect.”

Reach toward other people rather than your phone

We get it: Turning to your phone can be incredibly tempting. Challenge yourself not to.

“Parents who are present rather than ‘distractedly present’ (physically present but distracted on a screen) foster deeper attachment with their children,” Dr. Abrishami explains. “In our hyper-digital world, 10 to 15 minutes of undivided, child-led play where the screen is away and the child picks the activity can be a powerful way to connect and keep sickness at bay.”

Model self-regulation

As mentioned, emotion regulation is huge for helping your child avoid getting sick. Your emotional regulation is key, too, because your kids are watching and learning. For example, you might say something like, “I’m feeling a bit stressed, so I'm going to take three deep breaths before we drive.” This is a real-time tutorial in nervous system management that Dr. Abrishami recommends.

“[Kids] learn that emotions are manageable moments in time, not permanent states,” she adds.

Model sleep hygiene

Sleep hygiene, not just personal hygiene, is crucial. After all, not getting enough sleep increases inflammation in the body, which, again, can contribute to the development of disease. So, keep up with sleep hygiene tips, such as limiting screen use and engaging in a relaxing bedtime routine.

“When parents prioritize their own rest and digital boundaries, they are modeling nervous system stewardship,” Dr. Abrishami shares. “By visibly showing that you value sleep, you teach your child that rest is a non-negotiable pillar of health, not a chore to be avoided.”

As evidenced here, emotions and safety are non-negotiable pillars of health, too, reducing the likelihood of sickness. Consider keeping that in mind as you go about your day.

Taylor was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint in Brazos County, Texas. According to arrest records obtained by Entertainment Weekly, the arrest was in relation to Taylor's previous assault charges in 2024. Taylor was released on Friday on a $10,000 surety bond.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' 2000s Hit Returns to Multiple Charts Amid New Documentary

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 6:55pm

It is widely considered to be one of the band's best songs.

"Can't Stop" by Red Hot Chili Peppers is an ultra-catchy blend of funk rock, alternative, rap rock and perhaps even other genres as it leaped off the Grammy-winning group's 2002 album By the Way as its second single.

More than two decades later, the Chili Peppers have remained busy creating new music and still performing around the world — with "Can't Stop" still a go-to song they play during live sets. Check out the official music video below.

And with an all-new documentary, The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel, having just dropped on Netflix about the band's formative years, it's no surprise that certain jams have resurfaced on Billboard's coveted music charts.

The big winner is "Can't Stop," has established new high points on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, Forbes reports. And while the smash hit doesn't rank as the highest-peaking Chili Peppers single on either of those surveys, it does stand out as the group's longest-charting.

Meanwhile, in terms of Billboard's U.S. charts, Forbes also noted on Saturday, March 21 that the Anthony Kiedis-led outfit's single "Scar Tissue" (1999) has returned to the Alternative Streaming Songs list, surging to No. 24 on the 25-space rundown and celebrating its first month among the top performers.

Interestingly, out of all the catchy tracks from Californication, "Scar Tissue" served as the lead single from that Chili Peppers album, which is still regarded as perhaps the most beloved LP by the band to this day.

Two and half decades later, fans can now check out Netflix's The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which features interviews with Kiedis, 63, and famed bassist Flea, 63. The documentary focuses on original bandmate Hillel Slovak, who died in 1988 at the age of 26. People who were close to the original guitarist also make an appearance.

'Tournament of Champions' VII Episode 4 Live Updates: 4th Secret Icon Revealed

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 6:47pm

The main event of Tournament of Champions VII continues with the final set of eight chefs out of the field of 32 battling it out in four matchups to see who advances to round 2—and who packs their knives and leaves. Plus, the fourth and final "Secret Culinary Icon" will be revealed in the last matchup of the night.

ICYMI, last week we saw Shirley Chung soundly defeat Dale Talde, Bryan Voltaggio take out Carlos Anthony, Dan Jacobs pull the upset over Sara Bradley, and Viet Pham become the second 8-seed to take out a culinary icon when he took down Jonathan Waxman.

Judges this week are Scott Conant, Kenny Oringer and Marcus Samuelsson.

Beware of spoilers ahead: Don't keep reading if you don't want to be spoiled.

Related: ‘Tournament of Champions’ Season 7 Bracket Revealed: Here Are the Official Matchups

Matchup 1: No. 2 Lee Anne Wong vs No. 7 Stephanie Izard

Randomizer categories: Venison tenderloin for protein, corn for produce, microwave for equipment, earthy for style and Audience Choice for wildcard. The audience chose to move the microwave (at the urging of the chefs) and they wound up with a French press for equipment. That's a tricky basket even without the microwave.

Dishes: Steph chose to make spice-rubbed venison with fresh corn grits, while Lee Anne went with olive oil-poached venison loin over corn puree with corn mushroom salad.

Winner: By a score of 80 to 77, Stephanie defeated Lee Anne. She won by one point in all three categories.

Related: Fans Think Bobby Flay Is One of ‘Tournament of Champions’ Season 7’s Secret Icons

Matchup 2: No. 3 Marcel Vigneron vs No. 6 David Viana

Randomizer categories: Manila clams for protein, butternut squash for produce, microwave for equipment and glazed for style, with the wildcard coming up Move One Down. They chose to move clams to pork blade steak. Microwave is actually very helpful for butternut squash in this instance.

Dishes: David made grilled blade steak with butternut squash glaze, mashed squash and glazed walnuts. Marcel went with soy sauce and honey-glazed pork steak with a butternut squash puree, diced butternut squash and water cress.

Winner: If it wasn't obvious from the judging, Marcel won by a score of 87 to 81. He won by three points on taste, two on use of the Randomizer and one on presentation. Scott Conant got so excited tasting Marcel's dish that he threw his napkin.

Marcel will now face off with Stephanie in the next round.

Related: Guy Fieri Brings Flavortown to TV for the First Time Ever With New Competition Series

Matchup 3: No. 4Kaleena Blissvs No. 5 Adam Sobel

Randomizer categories: Ground lamb for protein, cucumber for produce, food processor for equipment, crispy for style and Move One Up for wildcard. They moved crispy to layered.

Dishes: Kaleena went with layered, crispy rice paper dumplings stuffed with ground lamb with cucumber and apple kimchi salad. Adam made lamb moussaka with grilled eggplant and eggplant tempura.

Winner: By a score of 79 to 77, Kaleena won, which was a little surprising based on the judges' comments. But it makes more sense once the categories were shown—he obviously beat her on use of the Randomizer because of "layered," but she beat him by four points on taste and that was the difference.

Who is the 4th and Final Secret Culinary Icon?

The fourth Secret Culinary Icon is MasterChef and Chopped judge Aarón Sánchez. I guessed the first three Icons based on their silhouettes and I was right, but this one eluded me. However, it's a tiny cheat to say that the Icons have never competed on TOC before because Aarón just competed on the TOC: All-Star Christmas special alongside Amanda Freitag, so I was discounting all of those people.

Matchup 4: 4th Secret Culinary Icon vs. No. 8 Kenny Gilbert

Randomizer categories: Manila clams for protein, breakfast radish for produce, spiralizer for equipment and crispy for style. They got Protein or Produce Re-Spin for wildcard and chose to re-spin protein (which seems smart). They ended up with Manila Clams, haha. This is maybe the hardest Randomizer of season 7 so far.

Dishes: Aarón decided to make steamed Manila clams in a spicy coconut broth with crispy plantain chips. Kenny prepared crispy Thai collard green salad with crispy fried clams and crispy breakfast radishes. That's smart use of the Randomizer. Aarón is not making enough crispy elements.

Winner: By a score of 81 to 76, Kenny is the third 8-seed to upset one of the Secret Icons. Use of the Randomizer was the major difference, Kenny won by four points on that and one on presentation; they tied on taste.

Kenny and Kaleena will face off in round 2 in two weeks.

The Secret Culinary Icon twist was an incredible idea but they got icons who were so far removed from competition cooking that they were not prepared for TOC. Honestly, the Food Network should make Bobby Flay do it next year. It's kind of bonkers (and anti-climatic) that they got these culinary titans to compete and three of them got upset in the first round.

Why Isn’t ‘The Bachelorette’ on Tonight? The Real Reason Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season Was Pulled

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 6:09pm

If you tuned in Sunday night expecting the premiere of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, you’re not alone.

The show was originally scheduled to debut on Sunday, March 22—but at the last minute, ABC pulled the season from its schedule.

So what happened?

Related: ‘Bachelorette’ May Not Be Dead Yet—Insiders Say Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season Could Still Air

Why Isn’t ‘The Bachelorette’ on Tonight?

ABC made the decision to pull season 22 after a 2023 video involving Taylor and her then-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen surfaced publicly on TMZ.

In a statement to Parade, the network said, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

The move came just days before the planned premiere, after ABC had previously indicated earlier in the week that the show was still moving forward.

Related: Why Was Taylor Frankie Paul Arrested? Inside the ‘Bachelorette’ Star’s 2023 Assault Case

What Happened in the Video?

The video shows a 2023 altercation between Taylor and Dakota where she is yelling, throwing chairs and trying to kick Dakota. Her daughter Indy is present in the video, starting to cry as the situation escalates. Indy was reportedly struck accidentally during the incident Taylor later plead guilty to aggravated assault.

The resurfacing of that footage prompted ABC’s abrupt decision to pull the season.

Will ‘The Bachelorette’ Still Air?

Even though the show has been pulled, it may not be gone for good.

According to Variety, ABC could lose tens of millions of dollars if the season never airs, including licensing fees, marketing costs and lost advertising revenue. There’s also a key complication: ABC doesn’t actually own The Bachelorette.

The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television Group, which distributes it internationally. That means the studio still has a financial incentive to find a way for the season to be released.

Insiders told Variety that Warner Bros. is currently taking a “wait-and-see” approach, staying in contact with ABC as the situation develops.

Possible outcomes include:

  • airing the season later in the year
  • moving it to a different platform, such as Hulu
  • or reworking the release entirely

While ABC has pulled The Bachelorette from its Sunday lineup, the situation is still evolving—and the season could still eventually see the light of day in some form.

'The Voice' Battle Revealing the Song Adam Levine Sang to His Bride at Their Wedding

Sun, 03/22/2026 - 6:03pm

Monday night was the second and final night of Battles for Season 29 of The Voice: Battle of Champions and coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend made the final cuts to their teams after the night’s duets.

One very special duet kicked off the night when Adam assigned Stevie Nicks and Don Henley’s “Leather and Lace to his teammates Drew Russell and Jared Shoemaker, which NBC has released as a sneak peek. And Adam revealed it was a song he had performed at his wedding.

John was the first to critique the twosome.

“Not to be superficial, but you guys would make a hot couple,” he pointed out. “I don’t know what your dating status is.”

Kelly interrupted him to say, “Honestly, after hearing you, I think you should be a duo.”

When Drew revealed she was married, the conversation moved on.

“You could still have a group, though,” John said. “It was beautiful. Your harmonies sounded so great. That was such a great song choice, I thought, for both of you. Drew, I really loved at the top of your range that little shred that was in your voice. It sounded so cool. Jared, I just decided that you're one of my favorite male vocalists this season. I just love the tone of your voice, the rasp in it. You just sound like a star to me. You're like the real deal.”

Then it was Kelly’s turn. She said, “Perfect song, so well done, Adam. It was the perfect song for both of you. John was talking about the little break in your voice, Drew, but also the vibrato, it was perfect. Jared, you opened your mouth and I feel like I'm at your concert. I actually think that both of you complement each other and you actually make each other better. That's why I said the group thing. And it's unexpected, which makes it more exciting as a fan.”

Related:The Voice Season 29: Who Went Home and Who Made It Through the Battles Tonight?

Then Adam talked a little bit about what the song means to him before critiquing his team.

“This song to me is just a heavyweight champion of songs in my life,” he said. “I sang this song with Stevie Nicks to my wife at our wedding. That happened. It really happened. I pinch myself sometimes. So, it made it even harder, I think, for you guys because I was going to go and be uber critical of it. In the rehearsals, to be completely honest, the promise was there and the vibe was there, but it just wasn't where it needed to be yet. I was hoping that it would really come to fruition in time for this thing and it really did. It was so beautiful. Thank you guys for really doing it right.

“Drew, there were moments where it was so Stevie-esque and she is obviously one of the greatest ever to do it, and Jared, Don Henley's a beast. It's really, really rangy for a male vocalist and you crushed it. You guys really stepped up and you're both just incredible. Great job."

But of the two, who does Adam select as the winner to go through to the Knockouts? Tune in on Monday night to find out who the winner of the Battle will be.
