Kelly Osbourne Reportedly Ends Engagement From Sid Wilson

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:42am

Kelly Osbourne is reportedly facing another major life bombshell during an already emotional period.

According to new reports from Daily Mail and TMZ on Monday, March 23, the 41-year-old has reportedly split from her fiancé, Slipknot musician Sid Wilson, just seven months after he proposed. The engagement took place during what was meant to be a celebratory moment—her father Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert with Black Sabbath last summer.

A source said  the breakup comes amid an “incredibly difficult” time for Osbourne, who is still grieving the loss of her father. Ozzy died in July 2025, and Kelly has been open about how much the loss has affected her.

The former couple share a 3-year-old son, Sidney, adding another layer of complexity as they navigate the reported split.

In recent months, Osbourne has also found herself addressing public scrutiny, particularly surrounding her appearance. After attending the 2026 BRIT Awards in February and accepting a lifetime achievement award on behalf of her father, she faced a wave of criticism about her weight loss rather than support.

“There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,” she wrote on Instagram. She went on to call out those who were “kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.”

“None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,” she added.

Osbourne didn’t shy away from acknowledging her current state, sharing, “I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life.”

This is a developing story, and Kelly has not returned Parade's request for comment at this time...

Sofia Coppola's Daughter Romy Alleges Babysitter Gave Her Weed When She Was 11 Years Old

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:40am

Trying to charter a helicopter for a dinner date apparently was the tip of the iceberg for Romy Mars’ chaotic childhood. The 19-year-old daughter of Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars just gave her followers an inside look on her upbringing, and it looks less like a filtered Parisian dream and more like a high-stakes indie coming-of-age script. In a series of candid responses on Instagram, the daughter of Hollywood royalty alleged that her childhood was shaped by a revolving door of babysitters, one of whom reportedly introduced her to marijuana at just 11 years old.

The admission came after a follower took to the comment section of a recent Instagram post to ask about Romy's childhood. "Can you tell us about ur experience of smoking weed at 11 years old?" Romy, who is big sister to Cosima, 16, was happy to oblige. The standout memory was a late-night fire escape session that sounds more like a scene from Euphoria than The Virgin Suicides.

According to Romy, the encounter happened during a routine bedtime. “I was in my Dylan’s Candy Bar robe after a nice bath and went to where my babysitter was sleeping to say goodnight and she offered it to me.” Most 11-year-olds are negotiating for ten more minutes of Disney Channel; Romy says she was navigating the complexities of adult relationships. "We smoked together on the fire escape and talked about her boyfriend's mommy issues until I fell asleep."

Romy Mars Instagram

It’s a startling image: a pre-teen in a luxury candy-themed bathrobe getting a crash course in illicit substances and psychoanalysis. While the internet is currently reeling from the casual delivery of the story, it fits the dry, self-deprecating brand Romy has built since she became a household name in 2023 for getting grounded after trying to use her dad’s credit card to rent a helicopter from New York to Maryland.

Mom Sofia Coppola recently went on the record with Elle to praise her daughter’s online presence, seemingly unfazed by the public airing of their family laundry. Sofia referred to Romy’s digital footprint as a “persona,” telling the magazine, “She’s a performer in a way that’s really fun for me to see.”

As Romy continues to share more about her childhood her recollections give a rare look at life inside the Coppola-Mars home. If Sofia sees a performer, the world sees a young woman reclaiming the narrative of a childhood spent in the middle of a Hollywood dynasty. Romy has her mother’s eye for detail and her father’s rock star attitude; she’s using her gifts to pick apart the public image fans have spent decades speculating on.

NYC Solo Traveler Proves Jamaica, Turks and Cacaos, and Even the Swiss Alps Are Doable as Day Trips

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:38am

There is a certain kind of traveler who plans for months, builds itineraries in spreadsheets, and saves every receipt. And then there is Kevin Droniak, who looks at a map, a flight deal, and a free day and decides that the Swiss Alps or Turks and Caicos are simply doable.

Scrolling through his videos, I felt equal parts inspired and slightly skeptical. The idea that someone can wake up in New York City, land in Jamaica for a few hours, and still make it home the same night feels like bending time. But his trips are tightly engineered around flight schedules, airport efficiency, and a willingness to sacrifice comfort for experience.

What stands out is not just where he goes, but how he defines “being there.” It is a swim in impossibly clear water, a quick espresso in a European city, a walk through a landscape most people spend days reaching. These are not deep dives into culture. They are snapshots. And yet, for many travelers, that snapshot is enough to spark something bigger.

How Kevin Droniak Makes Extreme Day Trips Work

Kevin Droniak, the New York City–based content creator known for his viral “micro travel” videos, has turned a seemingly impossible idea into a repeatable approach: visiting far-flung destinations in less than 24 hours. In his own words captured from a podcast known as 'Creator', “Micro travel is going somewhere typically for less than 24 hours and not spending the night at that destination.”

Making these trips feasible requires meticulous planning and strategic preparation. Droniak emphasizes the importance of packing light, keeping everything to a single personal item or backpack. Essentials include toiletries, a portable charger, travel documents, and a few spare clothes. Checking luggage is simply not an option when your schedule allows only a few hours on the ground. He also stresses the need for sleep on planes, explaining that without rest during transit, even the most efficient itinerary becomes exhausting.

Your next trip starts here—get curated travel stories when you sign up for our newsletter.

Navigating airports efficiently is just as critical. in an exclusive interview with People, Droniak strongly recommends TSA PreCheck or Global Entry to save time at security, particularly during busy travel periods. As he puts it, “My number one thing is getting TSA PreCheck… having that saves so much time and relieves so much stress.” He builds his itineraries around early departures and late returns, knowing that even a minor delay can jeopardize the entire day trip.

But no plan is flawless. Droniak is clear that contingency is part of the process. In one example from a trip to Ireland, a flat tire could have ruined the day, but he reframed it to the outlet as part of the adventure: “I was like, okay, this is still fun. I’m on the side of the road in Ireland… I met these Irish people… it just makes it more entertaining.” His strategy relies on flexibility, backup flights, and accepting that sometimes he may only explore airports or nearby neighborhoods if schedules are disrupted. He also ensures a minimum of 10 hours on the ground to make the trip feel worthwhile.

Yes, the beach ranked the BEST in the world is a day trip from NYC. ✈️🏝️

♬ original sound - Kevin Droniak | Solo Travel Budgeting the Impossible: How Day-Long Adventures Add Up

At first glance, this kind of travel feels chaotic. In reality, it is deeply strategic. Routes are chosen based on nonstop or near nonstop availability, and departures are often the earliest possible flights out of hubs like John F. Kennedy International Airport or LaGuardia Airport.

For example, a same day trip to Jamaica might involve a 6 a.m. departure, landing mid morning, spending three to five hours on the ground, and catching a late afternoon or evening return. Caribbean destinations are the most realistic because of flight times, while Europe, like a sprint to Zurich en route to the Swiss Alps, pushes the limits of what is physically and mentally sustainable.

Economically, the pattern is surprising. Based on public reporting:

  • Droniak’s eight‑hour Jamaica trip cost $382 total.
  • Reported same‑day Paris flights have been in the $700+ range when booked strategically.
  • Even day trips to Rome have been executed for under $650.

These are far from luxury prices, and far from the thousands of dollars most travelers assume overseas flights require.

What Happens When It Falls Apart

No one posts the version where it fails, but that version absolutely exists. Flights get delayed. Weather shifts. Crews time out. And when your entire trip is built on a narrow window, even a small disruption can unravel everything. Data from the Federal Aviation Administration consistently shows that delays are a normal part of air travel, not an exception.

Related: Delta Flyers Are Snagging Shockingly Cheap Upgrades: '$16 Comfort+ Is Wild'

The difference with this style is that there is no cushion. A missed connection might mean you never leave the airport at all. The smartest travelers build in contingency plans. Flexible tickets. Alternate routes. A mindset that values the attempt as much as the outcome. Maybe you do not make it to Jamaica. Maybe you end up exploring a terminal instead. That still becomes part of the story.

The Bigger Question: Is It Worth It?

After sitting with this for a while, I think the answer depends on what you want from travel. If you are looking for depth, connection, and immersion, this is not it. But if you are chasing moments, spontaneity, and the thrill of possibility, it makes a strange kind of sense.

I am not sure I would attempt the Swiss Alps in a single day. But I understand why someone would try. There is something undeniably compelling about proving that the world is closer than it looks.

Legendary Guitarist ‘Insulted’ After Moby Criticizes One of ‘the Greatest Songs of All Time’

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:37am

Kinks guitarist Dave Davies has come to the defense of his brother, singer/songwriter Ray Davies after Moby criticized the Kinks’ 1970 crossdressing classic hit “Lola” in a recent interview with The Guardian.

Moby singled out the Kinks’ classic when asked about “the song I can no longer listen to.” He responded, “‘Lola’ by the Kinks came up on a Spotify playlist, and I thought the lyrics were gross and transphobic. I like their early music, but I was really taken aback at how unevolved the lyrics are.”

Part of that quote was used as the headline of The Guardian piece.

Dave Davies took to X to air his grievance with Moby, writing in part, “I am highly insulted that MOBY would accuse my brother of being ‘unevolved’ or transphobic in any way.”

The Kinks guitarist also shared words that were sent to him and Ray from their “dear friend trans icon” Jayne County.

— Dave Davies (@davedavieskinks) March 22, 2026

“Lola,” which was a top 10 hit in the U.S. for the Kinks in 1970 and has appeared on the 500 greatest songs of all time lists by Rolling Stone and NME, is a tale about a romantic encounter between a transgender woman or drag queen in a Soho nightclub. In the song, Ray Davies sings that the title character “walks like a woman and talks like a man.”

Adding more drama to the beef, Music Radar mistakenly reported that Dave Davies’ called Moby “the little idiot,” but Davies clarified in a post on March 23, writing, “I did not call Moby ‘little idiot’ that is his twitter/x name/handle. I would never insult someone over their stature” and requesting a correction.

— Dave Davies (@davedavieskinks) March 23, 2026

In another post on March 22, Dave Davies shared additional thoughts on the controversy. “I don’t wanna show the guy up, but Moby should be careful what he says. the cockettes And their friends used to follow us around on tour. We appreciated them. Why is Moby being so rude about this simple song? We’re not trans phobic. Why does he have to have a go at us?”

The Cockettes are a legendary troupe of San Francisco drag queens, whose leader is known as Hibiscus, and is an acquaintance of Maureen Van Zandt, the wife of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band guitarist Little Steven. Maureen Van Zandt entered the fray by posting: “Because people who have nothing better to do sit around and pass judgment on others. Others who are more talented and accomplished ! One of my friend’s brother was Hibiscus , the leader of the Cockettes. They were groundbreaking. Sending all the best to you and Rebecca xx.”

For Moby’s part, he hasn’t responded to the controversy, but on March 21, the day before The Guardian piece was published, he took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos that included a photo of himself and what appears to be his home along with the caption, “as the world gets angrier and crazier and more irrational i just want simplicity. less stuff. less noise. less.”

Baseball is Back: How to Stream MLB Opening Day & Opening Night 2026

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:15am

I love the spring, not because it means warm weather is upon us, but because it means baseball is back! Spring to me means freshly mowed outfields, perfectly drawn straight white lines from home-to-first base-to-second-to-third and back home again. While I'm priced out of going to a ball game lately (have you seen how much it costs just to park at Dodger Stadium these days?!), I take my enjoyment from catching games on the radio or on TV.

🎬  🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox

I would subscribe to MLB.tv's streaming package, but if you live in your favorite team's city, your home games are likely blacked out due to broadcast rights and restrictions. So if a Dodger fan can't watch a Dodger game on a baseball subscription service, why subscribe? I'm better off going to my local sports bar.

Broadcast rights for Major League Baseball are spread all over the place: TBS has rights to Tuesday games, Fox has rights to some of the weekend games, and NBC just signed a three-year deal with MLB to broadcast games on NBC/Peacock. ESPN has some rights, while MLB will broadcast other games. Then there are local networks that have rights to local home team games (though there are about ten MLB teams whose cities still haven't locked in broadcast deals).

Netflix has recently entered the arena of live sports. Last year, they aired a Christmas Day NFL game, several WWE Raw events, a couple of high-profile boxing and MMA fights and various exhibition events in golf, F1 and tennis. Now, they're entering the ballpark and will be airing three baseball events—including an Opening Night game. Yes, this year's Opening Day is actually Opening Night! Read on for more about this year's MLB coverage.

How many MLB games will Netflix broadcast?

Netflix will stream three events—including the Opening Day matchup between the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants on March 25, the home run derby during the All-Star break and the Field of Dreams game at the iconic Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa on August 13.

When is Opening Day?

Opening Day this year is technically Opening Night and will take place on the evening of Wednesday, March 25 with a game between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park in San Francisco, CA. The traditional Opening Day will happen on Thursday, March 26 with games taking place at stadiums across the country.

Which games will Netflix broadcast?Wednesday, March 25 — New York Yankees vs. San Francisco Giants

The New York Yankees—led by seven-time All-Star and three-time American League MVP Aaron Judge—will venture to the Bay Area to face three-time All-Star Rafael Devers and the San Francisco Giants LIVE on Netflix for MLB Opening Night on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET and the game starts at 8:05 ET.

Monday, July 13 — All-Star Weekend's Home Run Derby

The T-Mobile Home Run Derby will be held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Monday, July 13. The Derby debuted in 1985 as part of MLB’s All-Star festivities and has featured memorable performances from the game’s top sluggers over the last 40 years— including three-time champion Ken Griffey Jr. and current stars like 2025 NL home run leader Kyle Schwarber, Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, two-time champ Pete Alonso, Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and reigning champ Cal Raleigh.

Thursday, August 13 — MLB at Field of Dreams

The 2026 MLB at Field of Dreams game will feature All-Star outfielder Byron Buxton and the Minnesota Twins taking on eight-time All-Star and two-time MVP Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies. Streaming live from Dyersville, Iowa, on Aug. 13, 2026, MLB brings a regular season game to the iconic Field of Dreams movie set for the first time in four years!

Who will be the analysts for Netflix?

Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds, Anthony Rizzo, Hunter Pence, CC Sabathia, Lauren Shehadi, and Elle Duncan will serve as analysts for Netflix for the three events.

How to watch Opening Day games on March 26

NBC will broadcast a double-header on Opening Day on both NBC and Peacock. Bob Costas and recently retired Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will be in studio for pregame analysis before the Dodger matchup. Matt Vasgersian will call the Pirates-Mets game, with former Mets pitcher Al Leiter and former Pirates infielder Neil Walker serving as analysts. Meanwhile, Jason Benetti will handle play-by-play for the Dodgers game, with former Dodger pitcher Orel Hershiser and Diamondbacks outfielder Luis Gonzalez serving as analysts.

  • 1 p.m. ET: Pittsburgh Pirates at New York Mets
  • 8 p.m. ET: Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers
NBC will have more baseball this year!

NBC signed a three-year exclusive deal with MLB and is bringing back Sunday Night Baseball! On top of that, Peacock subscribers will have access to Peacock-exclusive games throughout the season.

Where else can I watch Major League Baseball games?

Several networks will carry various games throughout the season. Fox, ESPN and TBS all have deals with MLB to broadcast games. Check their websites for the most updated information and schedules. You can also subscribe to MLB.tv and catch most of the games—though your local team may be blacked out due to rights issues with another broadcast service.

Actress Brenda Song Calls Out Airline for 'Splitting Up' Family—And No, It Wasn't Southwest

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:11am

Stars, they're just like us! Brenda Song says that she and fiancé Macaulay Culkin faced a common airplane annoyance recently, when the airline gave away the family's seats right before they were about to board for a long-planned getaway.

Song shared her story on social media, calling out the airline for forcing her to get separated from her young children as they were heading out of town to celebrate her toddler's birthday. This isn't the first time that parents have blasted airlines for doing this, but it is the first time I can remember Macaulay weighing in on things. Phew, I would not want to be in charge of this airline's social media after this!

Brenda Song Blasts Alaska Airlines for Splitting Her Kids Up

On Mar. 21, Song took to her Instagram Stories to share a frustrating experience she had with Alaska Airlines. In the since expired story, E! News says that Song put the airline on blast, calling them out for giving away the seats she had booked for a special trip for her son's birthday.

“I didn't know when you book your first class tickets 6 months in advanced [sic] for your family of six for your son's birthday @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning splitting up you and your 3 and 4 year old kids,” the 37-year-old wrote. “We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you.”

Culkin quickly jumped in to support his wife, sharing the story on his own page and adding the caption, "Hell hath no fury like a Brenda scorned.”

Alaska Airlines Responded With an Apology

The age of the couple's children likely added to the frustration of the incident, prompting such strong words for the airline. It seems like for its part, Alaska Airlines agreed that this was not the best way to handle things, and the company issued an apology via E! News.

"Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families,” a rep told the publication a day after Song's message appeared online. “We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience. It sounds like they also attempted to contact the couple to see if they can make things right. "We appreciate that guests have a choice in the airline they select and we take our responsibility to deliver a safe, reliable and caring experience every single time," the rep added in the statement.

What You Need to Know About Last Minute Seat Changes

Unfortunately, Song and Culkin's experience are hardly rare. There are plenty of horror stories out there about families being separated at the last minute when their seats have been split or given away, prompting a lot of last minute chaos and confusion.

However, in many cases you can advocate for yourself to stick with your family, especially when you're traveling with young children. Additionally, you may be owed a refund or financial compensation when this happens, especially if this new arrangement also causes your seat to be downgraded in the process.

So, how do you know what you're owed, and what to do, if this happens to you? You'll need to check your airline's contract of carriages to see what the rules are. These are legally binding agreements that you agree to when you purchase your tickets (located in many of the "check here" boxes you'll see throughout the booking process). You can also find the details of these contracts on the airline's website, which will explain what happens in different situations.

In Song's case, the airline does have a section on reservations, where it states that the airline can't guarantee seating arrangements on its flights. "Seat assignments, regardless of class of service, are not guaranteed and are subject to change without notice," the contract says. "Alaska reserves the right to reseat a Passenger for any reason, including from a seat for which an additional fee has been paid, and if a Passenger is improperly or erroneously upgraded to a different class of service."

As a mom, I can only imagine how upset Song was on that flight. In a time when it seems like these issues are only getting worse for travelers, hopefully she is able to use her story to raise more awareness so that other parents and caregivers don't have to deal with the same thing.

Zoey Deutch, 31, Daughter of ‘Back to the Future’ Star Lea Thompson, Is Luscious in Leopard Print

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 10:09am

Zoey Deutch, the daughter of Back to the Future icon Lea Thompson, is an absolute stunner.

Deutch, 31, started her career as a teen on the Disney Channel, but scored serious creds with roles in indie flicks like Everybody Wants Some!! and Flower. Last year, she reunited with Texan director Richard Linklater in 2025's Nouvelle Vague, in which she played screen legend Jean Seberg. The brunette beauty headed back down to Texas this week to attend the Austin Film Society's 10th anniversary of Annapurna Pictures' Everybody Wants Some!! at AFS Cinema, and rocked the red carpet in a high, leopard-print dress. Showing off a little leg, the beauty smiled brightly for the camera.

While she may not bear a striking resemblance to her mother, a screen legend and memorable redhead, Deutch is an absolute beauty in her own right.

Deutch occasionally hits the red carpet with her mom. Here's a fun shot of the two beauties alongside each other a couple years back.

Deutch Inherited Her Mom's Acting Skills

Thompson, 64, who is married to Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful director Howard Deutch, is best known for her roles as Lorraine Baines-McFly in the beloved Back to the Future trilogy. The iconic first film, which came out in 1985, introduced us to wild teenager Lorraine, whom sweet Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) meets when he travels back in time to 1955 in a DeLorean. Who could forget the iconic scene when his mom tries to kiss him as they sit outside the school dance in his car? Now that's an awkward run-in!

What's Next for Zoey Deutch?

Deutch will likely score a goal with her next project. Back in January, Deadline announced that the rising star will play Marla Messing, the U.S. Women’s soccer executive who oversaw the 1999 World Cup tournament that set attendance and TV viewership records. Titled The 99’ers, the U.S. Women’s Soccer drama will be directed for Netflix by Nicole Kassell.

Popular Airport Closed After Deadly Collision Between Air Canada Plane and an Emergency Vehicle Kills 2

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:58am

There’s a certain rhythm to New York travel. Even at midnight, especially at an airport like LaGuardia Airport, things rarely feel still. Planes land, taxis queue, travelers check their phones for gate changes with a kind of resigned choreography. That rhythm broke late Sunday night.

An Air Canada Express flight arriving from Montreal collided with a Port Authority emergency vehicle on the runway shortly after landing, killing both the pilot and co-pilot and injuring dozens of passengers and responders. The aircraft, carrying 72 passengers and four crew members, struck a fire truck that had been responding to a separate incident, raising immediate questions about runway coordination and timing.

I keep thinking about that moment travelers know well, when wheels touch down and everyone exhales. This time, that familiar relief never came. Instead, it turned into chaos, sirens, and a long night that would ripple far beyond the runway.

Is LaGuardia Open Right Now? Here’s the Latest Status

For travelers, the most urgent question is simple: can I still fly? As of now, LaGuardia Airport will be closed until at least 2 p.m. Monday, with hundreds of flights canceled and many others diverted to nearby airports like JFK and Newark. Officials shut down operations to allow emergency response teams and federal investigators to secure the scene and begin a full investigation.

More than 500 flights have been canceled, and dozens were rerouted overnight. For travelers, this means a cascading effect. Even if your flight is later in the day or tomorrow, aircraft and crews are now out of position. The disruption does not end when the runway reopens.

If you are traveling today or soon, check your airline app before even leaving home. In moments like this, the airport becomes less of a place and more of a question mark.

What Happened on the Runway

Early details paint a picture that feels almost impossible in such a tightly controlled environment. The Port Authority vehicle had reportedly been cleared to cross the runway while responding to another emergency. At nearly the same moment, the Air Canada aircraft had already touched down and was moving along the runway when the collision occurred. Just before impact, what should have been routine runway coordination unraveled in real time. Air traffic control audio reveals a sequence that shifted abruptly from calm instruction to crisis, as a ground vehicle was initially permitted to proceed across the airfield.

Moments later, the tone changed. “Stop, Truck 1. Stop,” the controller urged over the radio, the urgency unmistakable. At the same time, efforts were underway to wave off an approaching aircraft, a last-second attempt to create space where there was suddenly none. The exchange offers a stark glimpse into how quickly tightly managed systems can become overwhelmed.

The result was catastrophic. The front of the aircraft sustained severe damage, and two crew members were killed. At least 41 people were transported to nearby hospitals, though many were treated for minor injuries and later released. The firefighters inside the vehicle survived and were reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are now working to understand how two supposed authorized movements ended up intersecting in the same space at the same time. It is a reminder that aviation safety is built on layers, and when even one falters, the consequences are immediate.

What Travelers Should Expect Next

Even after reopening, airports do not simply reset. Delays will likely stretch across the Northeast corridor. Aircraft that were supposed to land in New York are now scattered across other cities. Crews may time out. Connections will be missed. And if you are flying through New York this week, flexibility is your best currency.

If I were traveling today, I would avoid tight connections entirely. I would also consider alternative airports proactively, not reactively. John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport are absorbing much of the diverted traffic, and while they are busier than usual, they may offer more predictability in the short term.

There is also the emotional reality. Air travel asks for trust. Incidents like this shake that trust, even for seasoned travelers. But they also trigger intense scrutiny, which is how the system evolves and improves.

The Quiet After the Headlines

By the time most travelers hear about an incident like this, it has already become a headline. But airports carry memory in quieter ways. A delayed departure. A gate change that makes no sense. A crew member who looks more tired than usual.

Today, those small disruptions trace back to something much larger. A moment on a runway that changed dozens of itineraries and, far more importantly, ended two lives. Travel, at its core, is about movement. But days like this remind us how fragile that movement really is.

Livvy Dunne Runs in ‘Slow Motion’ Wearing Iconic Red ‘Baywatch’ Swimsuit

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:32am

Gymnast Livvy Dunne is ready for her next role. The 23-year-old LSU graduate was announced as one of the latest additions to the cast for the upcoming Baywatch reboot, and she's already getting into the role.

Earlier this month, we learned she was cast as the "enthusiastic junior lifeguard" Grace for the upcoming FOX remake. This will be Dunne's first on-screen role, but based on what we've seen so far, she is made for the part.

On Sunday, Mar. 22, the gymnast-turned-actor posted a series of photos to Instagram to show off her new role. In the photos, she is suited up in that iconic red swimsuit. In the first picture, her hair was pulled back into a blonde ponytail as she ran across the wet sand.

The second photo was a group shot that included castmates Ashley Moore, Noah Beck, Jessica Belkin, and Luke Eisner posing in front of a lifted red SUV.

The third photo featured Dunne solo again; this time her long blonde hair was styled down and flowed past her shoulders in contrast with her golden bronze tan. She's still wearing the famous lifeguard uniform and an orange rescue buoy.

Addition photos feature Dunne posing alongside another castmate, Hassie Harrison, and laying on the beach in red string bikini bottoms and a cropped white tank while reading her script. The final photos show the article announcing her role and a selfie where the gymnast excitedly holds her script close to her chest.

She captioned the group of photos, writing, "I only run in slow motion now."

A week prior, she shared additional photos from the buzzy set, writing, "I’m not a lifeguard, but i play one on tv 🛟 @baywatchtv #baywatch"

Baywatch co-star, Shay Mitchell, saw the post and shared her reaction, writing, "Here we goooooo!!! 💕🌊"

Brooks Nader, who also was cast for the upcoming reboot, wrote, "LETS GO BABY."

Steven Amell, who will star as a grown up Hobie Buchannon, also chimed in, "PROJECT"

Clearly, the Baywatch cast is just as excited for this upcoming reimaging as the fans are, and they were also spotted in the comments congratulating Dunne for landing her first role.

The upcoming Baywatch reboot will air on FOX in the 2026-2027 television season and just began production this month. The series is scheduled for 12 episodes in the premiere season. So far, the only original cast member to return is  David Chokachi, who will reprise his role as Cody Madison.

Flying During a Shutdown? This TSA Tool Can Help You Plan Ahead

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:30am

Air travel in the United States has always required a bit of patience but during a government shutdown, it can quickly turn into a logistical nightmare. With Transportation Security Administration (TSA) staffing stretched thin and wait times skyrocketing, travelers are now turning to real-time tracking tools as an essential part of their journey planning.

The current partial government shutdown, which has affected the Department of Homeland Security since mid-February 2026, has created significant ripple effects across the nation’s airports. TSA agents, many working without pay, have increasingly called out sick or left their positions altogether, leading to fewer open security lanes and longer lines.

The result? In some cases, security wait times have ballooned to two hours or more, with reports of even longer delays at major travel hubs.

Related: TSA PreCheck and Global Entry Suspended Amid Government Shutdown: What to Know Before Traveling

Why Real-Time TSA Tracking Matters More Than Ever

In normal circumstances, travelers are advised to arrive at the airport about two hours before a domestic flight. But during a shutdown, that rule of thumb becomes unreliable. Conditions can shift rapidly depending on staffing levels, flight schedules, and even the time of day.

This is where TSA real-time tracking tools come in.

Travelers now have several ways to check wait times before heading to the airport. Airport websites often provide live updates for each terminal and checkpoint, offering a snapshot of current conditions. Meanwhile, the MyTSA mobile app aggregates data and historical trends to help predict how busy a checkpoint might be.

Third-party websites also track delays across multiple airports, giving travelers a broader view of nationwide congestion. These tools have become especially valuable as uncertainty increases and official staffing levels fluctuate daily.

@cbsnews

As TSA lines get longer and the situation at U.S. airports becomes more uncertain, there's a method for flyers hoping to fast-pass security wait times. In addition to keeping tabs on TSA wait-time trackers, which are often available on individual airports' websites, air travelers can also enroll in the TSA PreCheck Touchless ID program, a verification process that uses biometrics similar to Clear. CBS News' Kris Van Cleave breaks down what you need to know if you're heading to the airport.

♬ original sound - cbsnews The Catch: Not All Data Is Reliable

While these tracking tools are incredibly helpful, they’re not perfect, especially during a shutdown.

In fact, the surge in demand for real-time information has exposed the limitations of some systems. The MyTSA app, for example, has seen a dramatic spike in downloads, but users have reported inconsistent or outdated information due to the same staffing shortages affecting airports.

In other words, the tools designed to reduce stress can sometimes add to the confusion. This means travelers should treat real-time trackers as guides, not guarantees. Checking multiple sources, including airport social media feeds and airline alerts, is often the best strategy.

A New Travel Strategy: Plan Like a Pro

The rise of TSA wait-time tracking signals a broader shift in how people approach air travel. Instead of relying on static advice, travelers are now expected to actively monitor conditions and adjust their plans in real time.

Experts recommend arriving at least three hours early during a shutdown, especially at major airports. Others suggest avoiding checked baggage and using expedited screening programs.

Using TSA real-time trackers during a government shutdown may not be the perfect tools, but it will likely give you a general idea of what to expect. These tools empower travelers with information, helping them avoid missed flights and hours-long lines.

Until long-term solutions address the root causes of these disruptions, travelers will need to stay informed, stay flexible, and, most importantly, plan ahead.

Julia Roberts’ Iconic Rom-Com, Titled After a 1964 No. 1 Hit Track, Released 36 Years Ago

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:28am

When thinking about this 1990 romantic-comedy starring Julia Roberts andRichard Gere, fans instantly sing a No. 1 chart-topping classic. Pretty Woman was released in theaters 36 years ago and gave Hollywood a long-lasting cult classic that was titled after a popular 1965 track by Roy Orbison.

By 1990, Roberts was at the start of her acting career, with Pretty Woman having solidified her Hollywood status and title as a romance queen. Gere, on the other hand, was already a leading man and sex symbol thanks to his role in American Gigolo in 1980. The two actors ended up starring in Pretty Woman as wealthy corporate raider Edward Lewis and Hollywood escort Vivian Ward.

The movie started as a dark drama depicting the reality of prostitution in Los Angeles, with the leading roles having been shopped around to actors like Molly Ringwald, Al Pacino, Daniel Day-Lewis, Winona Ryder, and more before finally landing on Gere and Richards.

Pretty Woman focuses on Edward, unable to drive a stick shift before accepting Vivian's help and leading him to spontaneously pay for an entire night with her and then an entire week. It soon becomes an unconventional love story between social classes that received mixed reviews from critics after its release on March 23, but became the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time.

It catapulted Richards to stardom, earning her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. She also received her first nominations for an Oscar and a BAFTA. The film has another unique history, having been titled after the 1964 Orbison song, "Oh, Pretty Woman."

Related: 1985 No. 1 Hit Became an ’80s Anthem Thanks to a Teen Movie Classic

Written by Orbison and Bill Dees, the track was released as a single in August of that year and spent three consecutive weeks as No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was one of two songs to ever hit No.1 on the charts for Orbison and became certified gold. The track was also ranked one of the top four songs to come out of 1964.

According to reports, the song was inspired by Orbison's wife when she interrupted a conversation he was having. The songwriter asked if she had enough money, when Dees interjected, saying, "A pretty woman never needs any money." A perfect fit for the future 1990 film.

In 1991, Orbison posthumously won a. Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for a recording of the track in his 1988 HBO TV special. The No. 1 hit was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and was named one of the 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. The Library of Congress also preserved the song in 2008.

1968 No. 1 Hit Ranked Among the ‘Top Love Songs of All Time’ Remains a Timeless Classic—And It Has No Words

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:13am

In February 1968, the top song in the United States was an unlikely hit by French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat. The song, “Love is A Blue,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Feb. 10, 1968, and remained there for five weeks.

Mauriat, the conductor of Le Grand Orchestre de Paul Mauriat, made history as the first French artist to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and he held that title for nearly 50 years, per Stereogum.

In February 2026, Billboard named “Love is Blue” one of the top 50 love songs of all time, ranking it at No. 16 in a list topped by Diana RossandLionel Richie’s “Endless Love.”

“Love is Blue” was so popular that at the height of its chart-topping success, Mauriat performed the song on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 18, 1968.

‘Love is Blue’ was a cover of a song contest entry

Mauriat’s “Love is Blue” was an instrumental cover of “L’Amor est Bleu,” which was Luxembourg’s entry in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. But the musician’s cover was a pure instrumental. Gone were the lyrics describing love through colors, written by Pierre Cour and originally performed by Vicky Leandros, making its chart success even more of a surprise.

Mauriat spoke about the true origins of the song in a 1970 interview. “First of all, I didn’t compose 'Love is Blue,’” he clarified. “’Love is Blue’ was written by a French composer, Andre Popp. And this song… you know, in Europe, you have each year contests, contest songs, and each country of Europe presents one song. And this song was for Luxembourg, and it got little success. But I loved this song very much, and I took it for my LP. And the LP came into the States.”

“I was very lucky because I got a very big success with ‘Love is Blue,’”  he added.

RELATED: 1960 No. 1 Hit Was So Good It Turned a Movie Theme Into a Timeless Classic

In a 1974 interview with Ya magazine, Mauriat admitted he was stunned when he was told that “Love is Blue” was a hit in the United States.

“The truth is that at first, when they told me, I thought it was a joke,” he shared. “What filled me with intimate joy was to verify that the primary success was due to my own instrumentation, to the impeccable interpretation of my [orchestra], which, excited, shared the bliss, creating the tightest musical ensemble ever desired.”

Mauriat’s hot streak continued later that year with an orchestral recording of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang theme song, which went to No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Away Quietly Launched a Whole New Luggage Category and It’s a Game Changer

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:10am

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you’ve ever spent your first hour in a hotel room wrestling with a temperamental steamer or praying the bathroom shower steam would magically fix your mother-of-the-bride dress, Away just launched the solution you didn’t know you needed. On February 24, the brand quietly disrupted the luggage market by dropping an entirely new category: the Softside Garment Roller.

Think of this as a closet on wheels rather than a traditional suitcase. It is specifically designed for high-stakes travel—weddings, work conferences or Fashion Month—where "looking meeting-ready" is the only option. Instead of the usual folding and rolling, this case uses a "flat-file" logic. You essentially slip your dresses, suits and coordinated outfits into the bag, zip it once and head to the airport.

I actually got a chance to test this out recently, and it is a total game-changer for event-driven travel. It features a built-in compression system and a specialized garment bag that slips perfectly under a multi-part interior structure. It honestly reminds me of Martha Stewart’sfamous packing hack for keeping her clothes wrinkle-free by stowing them upright in her Rimowa. If you aren't a fan of the "KonMari" fold and love the idea of zero-prep packing, this is your case.

Away

Shop it at Away! The "No-Fold" Philosophy

Away

The Garment Roller is built to hold up to 8 to 10 complete outfits (roughly 16 garments) without a single fold. The interior is a "no-search" zoning system with 15 compartments designed for the specific items that usually get lost or tangled:

  • Jewelry and Makeup: Dedicated padded zones so your necklaces don't become a bird's nest.
  • Accessories: Targeted spots for shoes and evening bags.
  • The Lay-Flat Design: When you arrive, you open the case and can see every outfit at once, allowing you to "open, retrieve and close" in seconds.

Related: Away Just Launched New Travel Bags in Rich, Mood-Boosting Colors for Winter

The Reality Check

While the convenience is unmatched, there is a logistical downside to consider: this is a specialized piece of kit. Because of its unique dimensions and the need to protect formalwear, it’s likely not a checkable bag if you want to ensure your gowns stay pristine. However, for the ease of skipping the hotel iron and arriving "presentation-ready," that’s a tradeoff many frequent flyers will gladly make.

The Softside Garment Roller is available in Jet Black and Navy Blue for $495. For the founder, the executive or the wedding guest who values their time as much as their wardrobe, it’s the ultimate "reclaim the hotel-room hour" investment.

Costco's New Crab Cakes With Lemon Slices Has Shoppers Calling It the Perfect Midweek Dinner: 'You Are In For A Treat'

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:09am

For most people (ourselves included), the last thing we want to see on our daily to-do list is to come home after a long day of work and immediately start piecing together an energy-draining dinner recipe.

Fortunately, Costco has shoppers covered when it comes to their quick and easy prepared meals and other easy dinners, leaving us more than satisfied every time we come home, kick up our feet and get to work enjoying the simple pleasures of our personal lives.

As many great meals as Costco has lining its aisles, the warehouse supplier's newest product might very well be one of its most exciting to date.

According to a new post from the diligent Costco fan account costcobuys, the chain has officially rolled out a new platter of fresh-made Crab Cakes with Lemon Slices at locations across the country.

A delicious spin on the classic Maryland-style seafood dish, the new Crab Cakes feature lump crab meat, soft bread crumbs and other flavorful spices, along with sizable slices of lemon to add some refreshing tang to each and every bite.

"Crab Cakes with Lemon Slices are at the Costco prepared food section and they look restaurant-worthy right out of the container!" costocbuys said of the new product. "They’re loaded with real crab meat and seasoned with dijon mustard, worcestershire, seafood seasoning, and fresh parsley, and you can bake them in the oven or throw them in the air fryer."

At an average price of $21.99 per pound, Costco's new Crab Cakes are a predictably fantastic bang for your buck. And if online shoppers' reactions are any indication, they're also a worthwhile buy when it comes to a fast meal to make in the middle of the week.

As one shopper helpfully pointed out, "You are in such for a treat! I've been making crab cakes for years and these are so delicious. I have a whole folder just for seafood in my Honeydew app and this recipe has certainly earned a spot there."

This Is Hands-Down the Best Milkshake in Pennsylvania (And the Food Is To-Die for Too)

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:06am

Growing up in Philadelphia, I didn't have a shortage of great food around me. My beloved city is known for so many signature dishes, from cheesesteak to roast pork sandwich. But in my humble opinion, we are home to one of the most underrated milkshakes in the entire state.

Nifty Fifty’s was the place we all flocked to growing up. The '50s-style diner was a genuinely unique gem in Northeast Philly. Not only did it have a fun theme, with retro decor and jukeboxes at every table, but the food was (and remains) some of the highest-quality and freshest in the city. They also have a large flavored soda bar that lets you customize your Coke with flavored syrups you won’t necessarily find on shelves.

But above all, the standout menu item is their insanely delicious milkshakes.

What Makes Nifty Fifty’s Milkshakes So Special

My best friend and I had a little tradition every time we went—we always ordered an Oreo milkshake and then picked a second flavor to try. Nifty Fifty’s does not skimp on sizes, so we’d ask for two extra glasses and divide them equally. There are over 100 flavors to choose from, ranging from classic black-and-whites to more adventurous options like green apple and blueberry cheesecake, so there was always something new to try.

The shakes are all hand-spun, with fresh ingredients added to give them a rich, textured variety—many of them rooted in hometown favorites. There are even flavors inspired by Tastykake treats, including Butterscotch Krimpet and Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes, along with seasonal specials Philly locals know and love.

Related: This Is Disney's Best Food Festival—And It's Not In A Theme Park

But don’t just take my word for it. The diner, which has been open since 1987, is a 10-time “Best of Philly” winner—not just for its milkshakes, but for its fresh food, too. Online buzz from platforms like Instagram and TikTok shows an unbridled passion for its sweet treats and classic comfort food offerings.

The diner also offers a bountiful breakfast, complete with fresh-squeezed orange juice and made-to-order dishes. By lunchtime, it shifts into classic greasy-spoon fare, with hand-cut fries and timeless burger options the whole family will love.

“Top tier. I love the burgers and cheese fries,” wrote one longtime customer in the comments of a popular review. “The nuggets are good too, but they have the best milkshakes...”

“Love Nifty’s, they never disappoint on the shakes,” wrote another.

“The staff here is super nice too! Great food and great service—I love going there,” added another.

Currently, there are eight locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, along with two in New Jersey and one in Delaware. While the business is open to franchise opportunities, it hasn’t compromised on its scratch-made ’50s standards or its extremely affordable prices.

These days, I’m living in central New Jersey and recently made the just-over-20-minute drive to treat my son to his first Nifty Fifty’s experience. From the ’50s-style paper hats they give you to the massive portions, it was absolutely worth the trip—and I know I’ll be going back as long as they’re open.

Barry Manilow Announces First New Album In Nearly 15 Years

Mon, 03/23/2026 - 9:06am

Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilowhas just announced a brand-new album titled "What A Time," his first new album in nearly 15 years, to be released on June 5, 2026. The album will reportedly feature almost entirely new songs and promises "Manilow’s signature melodic grandeur with fresh textures and stylistic turns."

The album was announced on the official Barry Manilow Instagram account, and the comments are already flooded with messages of support and excitement.

View this post on Instagram

One comment reads, "Listening from Amelia Island FL…What beautiful start to my day! The same feelings we share when we see YOU Barry❤️. What a Time we are still having…," and another says, "This album is a dream come true for so many fans! ❤️."

One relieved commenter also wrote, "don't ever use a b&w picture of barry again! thought the worst happened." While that might seem grim, it likely has to do with the 82-year-old's recently announced cancer diagnosis. In December, Manilow shared that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, although he remained optimistic.

That original message, among other things, read, "As many of you know, I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks. Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everyone was OK. The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That’s the good news."

He continued, "The doctors do not believe it has spread and I’m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns," explaining that he had a surgery scheduled to remove the spot.

The diagnosis led to the cancellation of some concerts in the "I Write The Songs" singer's ongoing tour, but Manilow shared an optimistic hospital photo shortly thereafter, and he is expected to resume the tour in April.
