Packing a carry-on always sounds simple until you’re actually trying to fit everything you need into one bag. Over time, I’ve learned that the right essentials can completely change how a trip feels, helping you save space, stay organized and actually relax once you’re on your way.

As someone who has covered shopping and travel for outlets like Coveteur, Martha Stewart Weddings and Harper’s Bazaar, I’ve tested countless suitcases, organizers, beauty minis and accessories. These are the carry-on essentials I come back to every time because they maximize space, keep everything in its place and take the stress out of traveling. Even better, you can get all of these on Amazon!

Luggage Scale

A luggage scale is one of those things you don’t think you need until you’re repacking your suitcase on the airport floor. This one is compact, easy to use and takes the guesswork out of staying under weight limits, especially on the way home or if you end up checking an extra bag. It takes up virtually no space but is always worth having on hand.

Shop it on Amazon!Vaccum Travel Bags and Pump

If you’re trying to maximize space, these are a game-changer. They compress bulkier items like sweaters or workout sets down to a fraction of their size, and the mini pump makes them easy to use. I like to keep one or two bags empty in case I pick up anything on my trip and need the extra room.

Shop it on Amazon!Mini Umbrella

This compact umbrella is small enough to fit in any bag but sturdy enough to withstand unexpected showers. I always keep a compact umbrella like this with me because getting caught in the rain while traveling is never ideal and hotels don’t always have extras. And when they do, they’re usually oversized and not easy to carry around.

Shop it on Amazon!Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes

These individually packaged wipes are key for travel because they're gentle, effective at removing makeup and grime and instantly make you feel more put-together. You can throw them in your purse, carry-on or personal item and end up using them more often than you think. They’re especially great when you’re on the go and need a quick refresh.

CorneaCare Rest: Self-Heating Warm Compress for Dry Eyes

An underrated essential for flights and winding down at your destination. These gently warm up to help relieve dry eyes, especially after long hours of screen time or cabin air. I also find them helpful when trying to fall asleep; they’re calming and make it easier to fully relax.

Travel Cable Organizer Pouch

This cord-organization bag helps keep all your cords, chargers, and smaller tech items in one place, so you’re not juggling multiple pouches or digging through your bag mid-flight. It’s structured, compact and makes staying organized feel effortless.

Shop it on Amazon!Portable Charger with Built-in Cables

This slim portable battery lasts a long time and can charge multiple devices at once, which is key when you’re traveling. I love that it has built-in cables so you don’t have to pack extras cords and it takes up more space in your bag.

Foldable Neck Pillow

I love this neck pillow because it takes up barely any space and is easy to pack. It’s much more supportive than traditional styles and actually helps you rest comfortably for a few hours on longer flights.

Shop it on Amazon!Hair Tools Travel Bag

If you travel with hair styling hot tools, this keeps everything secure and organized. You can pack your tools without worrying about messy cords and this rolls out into a heat-resistant mat so you can style your hair without damaging counters.

Queen Elizabeth Reportedly Didn’t Hold Back Her Feelings About Prince Harry’s Royal Exit: Expert

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 7:05am

Queen Elizabeth was reportedly upset about Prince Harry's decision to exit his role as a senior royal in 2020.

According to royal expert Hugo Vickers, author of the book Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History, the monarch opened up in a rare moment about her grandson's life-changing decision.

Vickers appeared on the YouTube channel Palace Confidential, where he revealed what he says the monarch told him privately. He reportedly met the queen over 40 times throughout his career.

"Well, I do remember what the queen said at one point was, you know, one I'm not sure she's used these exact words, but basically, you know, sort of, 'One minute he's captain general of the Royal Marines and the next minute he's just a childminder,'" Vickers claimed.

Vickers added that the queen believed that her grandson was "doing a good job before he left." Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal roles in March 2020, moving to California with their son, Prince Archie. They later welcomed a daughter, Princess Lilibet.

The royal author believes that Harry, along with his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, caused the queen "a lot of anguish" in the last years of her life. "It's one thing I will never forgive the Sussex's for is the amount of stress they caused the queen."

Vickers concluded that it would be difficult to "work out what's going on in [Harry's] head. As far as I can see, he wasn't that unhappy until his wife [Meghan] came around and told him he was unhappy. That's my reading of it, but that may be unfair."

Prince Harry shared a statement about his beloved grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, following her death in September 2022. He wrote, per PEOPLE Magazine, "Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings — from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren."

He continued. "I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over. And as it comes to first meetings, we now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III."

Ciara Miller’s Scorched-Earth Response to the West-Amanda Bombshell: ‘Who Can You Trust?’

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 7:03am

Ciara Miller doesn't drop the mic when it's passed to her. She uses it. While the rest of the Bravo universe is picking up the pieces of Amanda Batulas explosive dating announcement, Miller is on red carpets dropping hints that could cut glass.

The receipts don’t lie. Batula is newly separated and apparently moving full steam ahead with West Wilson. Yes, that West Wilson. The one who spent a summer tangled up with Miller before things went south in the most public way possible. But instead of a tear-filled Instagram Live or a notes-app statement, Miller took to the red carpet.

Miller showed up at the premiere for Apple TV’s Friends and Neighbors looking like the main character she is. She wasn't there to hide. She was there to work. She posted a clip of herself interviewing the cast with a caption that was a heat-seeking missile aimed directly at her former inner circle.

“If you can’t trust your Friends & Neighbors, who can you trust? Season 2 premieres Friday on @appletv #AppleTVPartner,” she wrote. It’s a paid partnership that doubles as a side-eye. Because if you’ve followed the Hamptons drama for five minutes, you know that trust is a rare currency in that house. Seeing Batula go public with Wilson is a move that nobody, especially Miller, saw coming.

View this post on Instagram

The comment section didn't read the room; they burned it down. Within minutes, the post was a war zone of support for Miller, and the vitriol for the new couple was loud. “Girl we’ve always been Team Ciara, we ride at dawn!!!,” wrote one fan.

Another follower went even harder, writing, “Honey you got more talent, grace, beauty, smarts and integrity in one finger than both those buffoons put together!!!”  “When they go low, C goes high,” agreed another.

Reality TV is built on these kinds of betrayals. Batula and Miller were the fan favorites of Summer House. Seeing a friend date an ex is a violation of the girl code.

Miller isn't playing the victim. She’s leaning into the professional pivot and her brand is stronger than ever. If Batula and Wilson expected Ciara’s silence, they haven't been paying attention to how Miller operates. She doesn't need to yell when the caption does all the heavy lifting. The next episode of Summer House can't come soon enough. Because everyone’s watching now.

This cabinet is as much about the aesthetic details as it is about the organizational features. On the outside, it's a mid-century modern masterpiece that keeps things simple with a slightly boxy silhouette and hardware-free exterior. The lean ribbed texture lends the doors a distinctive edge, infusing the design with a hint of modernity. It even channels the cozy comfort of a farmhouse with its warm-toned wood. Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni Caught in Something They Can’t Escape: Exclusive

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 7:00am

As the focus around the Nancy Guthrie tragedy continues to grow, Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni are facing more than just personal grief. With limited answers and increasing public attention, Dr. Jenny Shields explains that a familiar pattern is beginning to take shape—one that can add a new layer of strain for families already navigating loss.

During Savannah Guthrie's interview with Hoda Kotb that aired on Today, she discussed the emotional toll having the public speculate about her sister and brother-in-law has been especially hard.

Parade reached out to Shields, licensed psychologist, certified healthcare ethics consultant, and founder of Shields Psychology & Consulting, PLLC in The Woodlands, Texas, to discuss the aforementioned emotional toll and how Annie and her husband might be navigating this situation, given the public scrutiny and blame.

Why Do People Look for Someone to Blame in the Middle of Tragedy?

"When something terrible feels random, people instinctively search for a reason," Shields says. "If they can point to a mistake, a lapse, or a person to blame, they get to feel that the world is still orderly and predictable. Psychologically, blame often works as a form of self-protection. It helps the observer create distance from the terrifying thought that this kind of tragedy could happen to anyone."

"Blame is often just a thin veil for fear. When a tragedy feels random, the mind demands a reason. By identifying a 'mistake' or a 'lapse' in the family, the public restores a sense of order. We tell ourselves, 'As long as I don't make their mistake, I am safe.' It is a tool for self-reassurance, but it comes at a devastating cost to the family left behind," she continues.

“The human brain abhors a vacuum. When there are no facts to fill the void of a disappearance, the public mind will inevitably fill it with a narrative of suspicion. We would rather have a 'guilty party' than accept the terrifying reality of a random, senseless tragedy.”

Annie and Tommaso Aren’t Just Grieving—They’re Grieving Under Scrutiny

"For Annie and Tommaso, the public dimension changes grief completely. Grief normally requires vulnerability. It requires room to be disoriented, inconsistent, numb, angry, or quiet. Public scrutiny does the opposite. It keeps the nervous system on high alert," Shields tells Parade.

"When every expression, every silence, and every decision is being interpreted, the bereaved are forced to manage two realities at once: the private pain of loss and the public pressure to appear as though they are grieving in the 'right' way. You cannot fully process a tragedy when part of you is still bracing to defend yourself from it," she adds.

Public Suspicion Can Become a Second Trauma

"The search for 'why' can deepen the harm for the people closest to the tragedy. A family already living through fear, heartbreak, and uncertainty can end up carrying a second burden: the pressure to defend themselves inside a story the public keeps trying to simplify before the facts are clear," Shields explains.

"That is what makes this kind of grief so psychologically exhausting. The pain is not only the original loss. It is also the experience of having your worst moment watched, interpreted, and turned into something other people feel entitled to explain," Shields continues.

"When we rush to find a villain, we can inadvertently create a 'second injury.' A false accusation might give observers a temporary sense of control, but it does not create justice. It only isolates the family at the very moment they need the most support," she adds.

Will you choose the eternal sparkle of a diamond to represent your birthday month? Or will the mystical allure of a sapphire speak to your soul? These questions have no wrong answer, as both April birthstones have an undeniable appeal.

The April birthstone is actually colorless or "near colorless." Diamonds are clear, like a droplet of water. Meanwhile, the alternative April birthstone is a sapphire, which can be described as royal or midnight blue.

Is the April Birthstone Rare?

While ubiquitous in jewelry stores, diamonds are still considered rare gems.

"The conditions required to form a diamond are as specific as they are extreme," Harri explains. "They're geological marvels formed deep within the Earth's mantle, under intense heat and pressure. It's nature's way of saying, 'Good things come to those who wait ... a few million years.'"

Diamond Meaning and History

"Diamonds have come to represent everlasting love," says Harris. "They are strong, resilient and shiny! As a matter of fact, they are one of the hardest materials on Earth."

Brilliant marketing campaigns like "Diamonds are a girl's best friend," popularized by Marilyn Monroe, have helped keep diamonds at the top of the list of most beloved jewels.

But diamonds also carry spiritual significance across cultures. Gemologist Sacha Jarmon, and co-founder of LOVE SARO, elaborates.

"Metaphysically, diamonds are used to amplify and enhance energies of stones around them," she says. "They are effective at cleansing both the mind and body, as well as removing negative energy and obstacles to help the wearer realize their own self-worth."

Where Are Diamonds Found?

“Diamonds are found in kimberlite pipes created as a result of volcanic and tectonic activity,” shares Olivia Landau of The Clear Cut.

But as far as actual locations, Jarmon says diamonds are primarily sourced from India, as well as Russia, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Canada.

You can even try your hand at diamond mining stateside.

"Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas allows visitors to dig on their own for only $15 a day!" Harris shares.

Jarmon explains the sapphire's long history of mystical reverence.

"Kings and queens in ancient Greece and Rome believed the blue sapphires would protect them from harm and offer guidance when seeking answers," she says. "Buddhists believed that it brought spiritual enlightenment, and Hindus used it in worship practices. Each color of sapphire exhibits its own unique metaphysical properties and vibrational patterns, yet all are Stones of Wisdom."

Where Are Sapphires Found?

Sapphires derive from various locales, though some sources are particularly prized.

"Our sapphires are primarily sourced from Thailand. Most sapphires are found in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and Madagascar," Jarmon notes.

The rarest and most coveted sapphires hail from Kashmir.

"Kashmir sapphires from the Himalaya Mountains are extremely rare and valuable, many of them being displayed in museums," Harris adds. "Right here in the U.S., gorgeous sapphires are being mined in Montana."

So, for those born in April, will you opt for the brilliant resilience of a diamond or the profound wisdom of a sapphire? With two such breathtaking birthstones to choose from, you can't go wrong.

Kate Middleton, Princess Diana Had to Pass the ‘Balmoral Test’ to Fit Into The Royal Family

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:25am

From Princess Diana to Kate Middleton, women entering the royal family have reportedly been put through a rigorous unofficial tradition known as the “Balmoral Test,” a quiet measure of whether they truly fit in.

Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, discussed the tradition in his memoir, The Royal Insider. He described the "Balmoral Test," where senior royals use their family traditions to see if outsiders can transition into life behind palace doors.

FOX Newsshared details from Burrell's book. He wrote, "The ‘Balmoral Test’ was cruel. Outsiders, most importantly potential brides, were brought there like specimens to be inspected by the family to see if they came up to scratch and if they were suitable."

The former butler added that this type of compatibility comparison has "been this way since Queen Victoria’s day. Which is no surprise, as the castle hasn’t changed much either."

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told FOX News that Balmoral is important to the royal family as it remains one of the most traditional elements of their private lives. Balmoral is located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and has been a place where the royals can get away from official duties and spend time together enjoying country life.

"Balmoral remains the monarch’s most private sanctuary," she explained. "It’s as remote and as private as it can be, and approval there by the family signals inner-circle status. It’s all about loyalty to the family and adaptability to their unique unwritten ways."

Fordwich added, "It’s totally country-oriented. Those who do best are those who understand rural ways, such as Kate [Middleton]. Walking even in inclement weather came naturally to her. She was instantly at home."

"Being sporty and athletic, she enjoyed nature and hiking. She still relishes it. In contrast, Meghan [Markle] reportedly took umbrage at hunting and wasn’t into any of the field sports."

As for Princess Diana, Vanity Fair reported that Burrell said, "Diana was a city girl. She disliked country pursuits: horses, shooting, mud, and particularly hunting, which she thought was barbaric. But she tried so hard to please her husband."

For those invited into the inner circle, particularly romantic partners, the "Balmoral Test" is a crash course in royal customs and unwritten rules, where even the smallest details don’t go unnoticed.

‘70s Child Star Admits He Spiraled Out of Control After Early TV Fame on ‘The Brady Bunch’

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:22am

Mike Lookinland admitted he went “fully off the rails” a decade after his role on The Brady Bunch ended. The former star of the beloved ‘70s sitcom spoke out on the March 31 episode of The Real Brady Bros podcast, co-hosted by his former co-star Christopher Knight.

The actor, who played youngest son Bobby Brady on the ABC sitcom from 1969 to 1974, revealed he struggled to adapt to adulthood following his massive childhood fame, which included the hit TV series, spin-offs, and touring as a musical act.

“I lived my childhood in my 20s because I couldn't when I was a child,” Lookinland, 65, said on the podcast. “And in my 20s, I had a car and money and freedom. And I'm lucky that it got back on [track]. I was fully off the rails.”

Lookinland added that he was lucky he didn’t grow up in the age of cell phones and social media. “I'm just thankful that not every man, woman, and child had a high-def camera in their pocket when I was 25, like they do now, because it would have ruined my life,” he admitted.

Mike Lookinland previously opened up about his struggles

Lookinland was only eight years old when The Brady Bunch debuted in 1969. After the beloved sitcom ended its five-season run, the young star continued auditioning and acting, appearing in the 1974 blockbuster film The Towering Inferno and a 1977 episode of Little House on the Prairie. Several Brady Bunch spinoffs and TV movies also kept him busy.

But by the time he hit his 20s, the former child star struggled to live a life outside of the spotlight. While he married his college sweetheart in 1987, Lookinland also developed an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

During an appearance on Oprah: Where Are They Now?, he explained, “To have that much fame when you're really young, it certainly affects you.”

“The problem for me was, I lived my childhood in my 20s,"  he explained. “You  should really try to live your childhood when you’re a child, because if you do it when you’re 26, it can be dangerous."

"I loved alcohol,” he said. “First time I had a drink, oh boy, I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. When it became clear that the choice wasn’t between sobering up or drinking, but the choice was actually between living or dying, then it became a simple choice for me," the actor added of his decision to get sober.

Lookinland hit rock bottom in 1997 when he was arrested for driving under the influence in Salt Lake City, Utah. A report shared by the Deseret News at the time revealed that the former Brady Bunch star rolled his 1990 Bronco on a highway.

At the time, Lookinland, who was a cameraman on the set of the CBS drama series Promised Land, was clocked at three times the legal alcohol limit and booked at a local jail. The outlet reported that “fellow jailers whistled the theme song from the Brady Bunch television show in the background” as Lookinland was booked and released on bail.

On the Real Brady Bros, Lookinland noted that what happens in Utah usually stays in Utah, but the incident prompted him to get help, and he’s been sober ever since.

When you have limited space at home, coming up with storage solutions that don't involve investing in bulky furniture can be tricky. This is especially true for small spaces like closets, which often need organization that's easy to rearrange. One simple solution we love is modular organizer cubes. Spacious and versatile, cube organizers are handy for decluttering any room where you need to tidy clothing, toys, linens, books, or other household items.

Amazon's Homidec 9-Cube Closet Organizers are now discounted to just $30, down from the usual $40 price for a limited time. With more than 5,400 five-star ratings, the set has earned an Amazon's Choice designation as a top-rated product that's available to ship immediately.

The modular design of these nine cube organizers allows you to use them in a variety of ways, tailoring the design to your space. Build them with three cubes across and three cubes down to create a large square shelving unit, stack them two by two, or use them singularly, lined up or separately — the options are virtually endless.

Made of lightweight polypropylene in durable, flexible plastic sheets, connected by rods made of strong styrene, each cube has a maximum load weight of 15 pounds. They're also waterproof, which makes them a great option for bathroom storage.

Should you want to hide away whatever it is you're organizing, each cubby slot is large enough to hold a standard 11-inch-square collapsible storage bin that can be used like drawers. You can even add these cubes to a freestanding portable closet for extra organization. If you only need them for temporary storage, the cubes have a collapsible design that makes them easy to tuck away when they’re not in use.

One raved, "These shelves saved my cluttered closet!"

Hungry Howie's Rolls Out a Bold New Crust Flavor That Could Spark the Next Big Pizza Debate

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:15am

Few food debates are as enduring—or as oddly passionate—as the one over pineapple on pizza. For some, the sweet, juicy bite paired with savory toppings is a stroke of genius. For others, it's nothing short of culinary chaos. The argument has fueled countless memes, late-night discussions and even strong opinions from celebrity chefs.

That same divide may be headed for a fresh chapter. A new limited-edition pizza crust flavor is stepping into the spotlight, and it's bringing both sweetness and heat along for the ride—two qualities that rarely enter the pizza conversation quietly.

Hungry Howie's New Pizza Crust Taps Into the Sweet-and-Salty Flavor Craze

Courtesy Hungry Howie's

Hungry Howie's is testing the waters with a pineapple jalapeño crust, a bold twist on its signature flavored crust lineup. Instead of simply adding toppings, the chain is baking the flavor directly into the crust, meaning every bite—from the first slice to the often-neglected edge—delivers a mix of tropical sweetness and a spicy kick.

The idea feels almost designed to stir the pot. Pineapple alone has long been a lightning rod, but pairing it with jalapeño takes things into even more adventurous territory. It's the kind of flavor combination that makes some people immediately curious—and others skeptical.

Fans of sweet and spicy foods, however, might see this as a natural evolution. After all, the balance of sugar and heat has worked wonders in everything from barbecue sauces to trendy hot honey drizzles. Translating that balance into a pizza crust could be a clever way to win over skeptics who might not normally order pineapple as a topping but are willing to experiment in smaller doses.

This New Crust Will Likely Tap Into The Great Pineapple on Pizza Debate

Of course, not everyone will be convinced. Pizza purists—those who believe crust should simply be a vessel for cheese and sauce—may see this as unnecessary tinkering. And those firmly in the "no pineapple ever" camp are unlikely to be swayed, no matter how inventive the presentation.

Still, limited-time offerings thrive on curiosity, and this one has that in abundance. Whether it becomes a fan favorite or just another fleeting experiment, the pineapple jalapeño crust is almost guaranteed to get people talking. If it intrigues you at all, you may want to give it a try between now and June 28 in case it disappears forever.

And in the end, the great pineapple debate isn't really about being right or wrong. It's about trying something new, arguing about it with friends and maybe—just maybe—discovering a flavor you didn't expect to love.

JetBlue Just Launched a First-of-Its-Kind Monthly Subscription

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:10am

If you’ve ever wished you could pay a flat fee to make the "nickel and diming" of air travel disappear, JetBlue is listening. In a first-of-its-kind move for a U.S. carrier, the airline just launched TrueBlue Subscriptions, a service called "Points on Repeat" that functions like Amazon Prime for the sky. It’s designed for the traveler who wants to stop reaching for their credit card at the airport and start automating their future vacations.

You can choose from three specific tiers based on how often you’re actually in the air.

Related: This Major U.S. Airline Has the Roomiest Economy Seat—but Not for Long

The Three Tiers: From Casual Flier to Commuter
  • The Points Traveler ($13/month or $144/year): This is the entry-level "savings account" for travel. You get 1,000 points deposited into your account every month. If you fly once or twice a year to see family, this ensures you always have a small stash of points ready to cover a seat upgrade or a bag fee without a second thought.
  • The Points Adventurer ($32.50/month or $360/year): This is the sweet spot for the quarterly traveler. You get 2,000 points a month, but the real win is the 2x Flight Accelerator. Every time you book a flight with cash, you earn twice the normal points. If you’re heading from Boston to Miami every few months for a cruise or to see in laws, for example, this tier effectively cuts the "wait time" for your next free flight in half.
  • The Points Trailblazer ($67.75/month or $750/year): For the true frequent flier, this is the definitive "Smart Splurge." You get 2,500 points monthly and a 3x Flight Accelerator, but the secret weapon is the 10% Redemption Rebate. Every single time you use points for a flight or a fee, JetBlue puts 10% of those points right back into your account. (Pro tip: If you have a JetBlue Plus card, that rebate can jump to 20%).

Related: JetBlue Is Now Selling Day Passes to Its BlueHouse Lounge

Turning "Annoyance Fees" Into Point Redemptions

The most practical update arriving alongside these subscriptions is the ability to use your points for the "extras" that used to be cash-only. JetBlue recently hiked checked bag fees to as much as $49 ($98 round trip) and pet fees to $150 each way. Under the new rules, you can use your "auto-saved" monthly points to cover these costs directly at the kiosk or in the app.

If you are a "Trailblazer" subscriber heading to Florida, that $150 pet fee for your dog essentially comes with a $15 rebate in points. If you find yourself paying $60 for a last-minute upgrade to EvenMore Space for that extra legroom, you’re effectively getting $6 back in travel value every time. But for those looking for a bigger win, these points are also redeemable for JetBlue Vacations packages. Since these bundles often have deep sales on flight-and-hotel combos, applying your monthly points to the hotel or car rental portion is a high-value way to stretch your travel budget.

The Bottom Line: Is It Worth It?

If you use JetBlue as often as you use Netflix or Spotify, this subscription can actually put money back in your pocket. For a regular commuter, the combination of the point multiplier and the rebates can save you (or earn you back) upwards of $150 a month in total travel value. By the time your third or fourth trip of the year rolls around, you’ve likely accrued enough points through your subscription to book a totally free flight or a JetBlue Vacation.

Whether you’re looking to snag priority security for a quick weekend getaway or you just want to automate your travel budget rewards a little more, these updates represent a major pivot toward making points feel like actual currency.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Source Describes What Inside the Home Looked Like

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:07am

As the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance continues, new details are emerging about the condition of the 84-year-old's home. According to a source familiar with the situation, there were no obvious signs of a struggle inside, and some rooms were described as "immaculate,” a detail that is now drawing closer scrutiny as authorities work to piece together what happened. The source spoke with NewsNation's Brian Entin, sharing new details about the case.

"This new information sort of makes sense with the big picture of what we know," Entin said on a recent NewsNation broadcast. Entin, who was in Tucson for several weeks in February and into March, has returned to the area to continue covering the case.

"There were no signs of an assault inside Nancy Guthrie's home [and that] most of the rooms were described as 'immaculate.' So, the house was very, very clean," Entin said, explaining what he'd been told by his source.

This new information comes after Savannah Guthrie's interview with Hoda Kotb, during which she said that the back doors of her mother's home had been "propped open."

Nancy has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that Nancy may have been abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. The FBI released pictures and videos of a masked individual on Nancy's front stoop the night of her disappearance. That footage coupled with the blood near the front door suggested that Nancy was taken out of her home via the front door. The information about the back door of the home being open—coupled with the new information that Entin reported, is raising more questions in the case.

1971 Classic Ranked No. 1 ‘Best Album of the 70s’

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:07am

The 1970s were one of music’s most explosive decades—where rock splintered into bold new forms, from prog and punk to disco and soul. Now, a new ranking from BBC Music Magazine has taken on the nearly impossible task of naming the greatest albums of the era.

Related: 1962 Connie Francis Classic Made History When It Hit No. 1 64 Years Ago Today

Before revealing the No. 1 pick, here’s how the Top 5 shakes out:

  • At No. 5 is the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory, the record that helped define a new era of theatrical, shape-shifting rock.
  • No. 4 goes to Joni Mitchell's Blue (1971), widely considered one of the most emotionally raw and influential singer-songwriter albums ever recorded.
  • At No. 3 is Led Zeppelin IV (1971), a towering hard-rock statement that includes one of the most iconic songs in music history in "Stairway to Heaven."
  • No. 2 is Blood on the Tracks (1975), a deeply personal and literate album often described as Bob Dylan’s finest work.

And at No. 1?

A 1971 album that didn’t just define the decade—it helped redefine what popular music could be.

Related: 1965 Bob Dylan ‘Diss Track’ Named ‘One of the Best Songs Ever Written’

What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye was ranked the greatest album of the 1970s, praised as “the moment pop music became high art.”

Released in May 1971, the album marked a dramatic shift for Gaye. Moving away from Motown’s traditional hit-making formula, he created a cohesive, socially conscious work that tackled issues like war, poverty and environmental destruction.

Related: 1957 Buddy Knox Hit Made Rock History With a No. 1 69 Years Ago Today

Built as a concept album with songs flowing seamlessly into one another, What’s Going On follows the perspective of a Vietnam veteran returning home to a fractured America.

The album was also a commercial powerhouse. It spent over a year on the Billboard charts and produced three Top 10 hits—“What’s Going On,” “Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)” and “Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)”—making Gaye the first male solo artist to achieve that feat from a single album.

More than five decades later, its message still resonates—one of the reasons it continues to top lists like this one.

In a decade packed with legendary releases, this 1971 classic didn’t just rise above the rest. It changed the conversation entirely.

These Bath & Body Works Finds Are Bringing Back ‘90s Kitchen Vibes in the Best Way

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:03am

Imagine it: a Shania Twain song is playing in the background, you open a cabinet to grab some McCormick spices, and as you look around at your kitchen decorated with lemon accessories, you think to yourself, “I love living in the ‘90s.”

Maybe the scenario above is a little kitschy (or inaccurate, as your kitchen was all about apples, plaid roosters, or geese in blue bows instead), but the 1990s are having a moment right now. Amid the nostalgic wave, there is a concentrated push for the return of the country aesthetic that took over home decor 30 years ago, and Bath & Body Works is delivering on that in a way that fans say is “so cute.”

While social media buzz when it comes to Bath & Body Works typically focuses on the brand’s body care and home fragrance, a new line of candle holders has caught the eye of fans, with two in particular turning heads.

Related: Bath & Body Works Collab With Cult-Favorite Brand ‘Is Exactly What Fans Want to See’

There’s a round, white pedestal shaped like a vase with juicy red tomatoes on the vine all around it, topped with a burnt orange gingham pattern around the top edge that fans say they need to get. “Ah, I see the 90s kitchen vibe is back,” said one Reddit user as another agreed, writing, “Yes! This is very 90s lol. Looks like something my Mom would have had in the kitchen at the time. I love it.” “This is 90’s mom kitchen chic,” said a third.

More agreed, with some saying that instead of using it for candles, they could see themselves using it for culinary purposes. “I adore it, but it would end up holding a jar of pasta sauce or salsa in my kitchen,” said one, prompting another Redditor to reply, “Waittt that’s such a cute idea to use it for that! Now I want it even more.”

Another Bath & Body Works accessory that’s getting attention leans further into the ‘90s chicken kitchen look, with a literal bird candle holder. The white ceramic rooster has dark yellow flowers all around its base, with Redditors suggesting it if “cozy whimsical kitchen is your thing.” “So cute for a kitchen and it’s not cheap plastic,” said another Reddit user, while over on the official Bath & Body Works Instagram account, commenters couldn’t get enough of the “so cute” design.

“I need this,” said one commenter as another enthusiastically declared, “I got mine and I LOVEEE it!” Other sentiments included commenters that wrote, “I love roosters this is so cute,” and teased, “I’m never going to save money. Now you know I need this.”

Fan-Favorite Author Colleen Hoover Issues 'Incredibly Sad' PSA: 'People Suck'

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 6:00am

New York Times Bestselling author Colleen Hoover is issuing an "incredibly sad" PSA after realizing one of her readers fell for a major scam using her name.

The fan-favorite romance author took to social media earlier this week with a lengthy warning to her followers, revealing that a con artist had impersonated her online and tricked an aspiring author into handing over their own manuscript—presumably to profit off of.

In an email thread with the It Ends With Us author's actual address and "a slightly different version" of that contact information, the budding writer "attached their entire book that they spent a year writing," because they had believed they were speaking with Hoover for the last several months and that she had requested to review it.

"But any minute now, that manuscript is probably going to be uploaded under a fake name and put out into the world for sale," she lamented. "This author spent a year writing this book and now they've shared it with a scammer and there's nothing I can do for them. There's nothing they can do to prevent it."

The Author Warned Fans to Scrutinize All Correspondence With a Keen Eye

Hoover went on to beg her followers to "be very suspicious," assuring them that she'll never "randomly email people [she doesn't] know."

She continued, "This type of scam is incredibly sad because you think you're communicating with someone who wants to read your work, but instead you're handing over your entire manuscript for someone else to steal and publish and do what they want with...Be suspicious. People suck."

It's unfortunately far from the first time fans have been swindled by faux celebrities. Kate Beckinsale was also forced to speak out after a catfish tricked one of her fans into thinking they were dating, while General Hospital star Steve Burton's likeness was used in a series of convincing AI videos that tricked one fan into forking over more than $80,000. And, of course, brands have deepfaked celebrity endorsements, too, like a clip of Al Rokerpromoting a supplement for hypertension and one of Tom Hankspushing "some dental plan" that he actually had nothing to do with.

Her Followers Were Grateful for the 'Great Reminder'

Unfortunately, scammers and con artists are ruthless, and don't care who gets hurt in the process of them raking in a bit of "easy" cash. It was a "heartbreaking" reality check for the author's followers, who called the incident an "absolute nightmare."

"Oh this makes me so mad for them," one vented. "Currently working on my first and this is scary 😱."

"As someone working on their first novel, THANK YOU for sharing this!" another praised. "I’d like to hope this would never happen to me, but honestly you really can never be too careful about who you trust and this is a great reminder of that."

Lancôme Scrapped Influencers for Cardiac Surgeons: The End of the Aesthetic Era

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 5:20am

The days of buying a product because an influencer looked radiant in a TikTok ad are over: Lancôme just killed them. The brand recently dropped Absolue Longevity MD, and it aims to bring the science lab to your skincare routine.

Skincare has grown past anti-aging. That’s a term for people who still use landlines. The new science is focused on biological age. Lancôme new product starts with a machine called Cell BioPrint, developed with a tech firm in Korea. The machine doesn't care about the year on your driver’s license. It’s looking for the receipts, the five specific markers that prove exactly how much sleep you’ve skipped and how many hours you’ve spent in the sun. A digital check up that turns your face into a data set.

Once the computer stops judging your late nights and sun damage, it provides out what the brand calls a personalized longevity protocol. It’s data-heavy. It’s clinical. But mostly, it’s a way to stop spending money on products that don't actually do anything for your specific cell health.

For this rollout, Lancôme didn’t ask for a dermatologist's approval. They recruited a cardiac surgeon and an anesthesiologist. Real Housewives of Dallas star Dr. Tiffany Moon was recruited because she knows what a body looks like when it's under local anesthesia and high stress. "With this collaboration, I look forward to sharing my belief that our skin, our human body’s largest visible organ, is a living mirror for our inner health and relationship with ourselves,” Moon said in a statement.

Moon is joined by Dr. David Luu, a cardiac surgeon who looks at skin through the lens of a Longevity Architect and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, a physician who treats muscle as the foundation of health.

The new system is constructed around Mitopure. If you’re a longevity nerd, you’ve heard of it. It’s a version of Urolithin-A, a molecule that helps your mitochondria, otherwise known as the engines in your cells, stay efficient. Think of your mitochondria as the battery life on an old iPhone. After a while, the cells don't hold a charge like they used to. Mitopure aims to be the high-speed charging cable for your cells, trying to keep the power from dipping into the red. Normally taken in pill form. Lancôme partnered with Swiss biotech firm Timeline to put it in a topical cream.

Vania Lacascade, Lancôme’s Global Brand President, is calling this a bridge between the lab and your life. In plain English? They’re betting that in 2026, consumers are done with mystery ingredients. They want the clinical data and science that backs up the claims.

A New Non-Stop Train Directly to Miami's Cruise Port Could Be in the Works

Wed, 04/01/2026 - 5:10am

If you’ve ever found yourself white-knuckling a steering wheel while trying to cross the bridge into PortMiami on a busy Saturday, you know that the "Cruise Capital of the World" has a major congestion problem.

With a record-breaking 8.5 million passengers moving through the port in 2025—and that number expected to nearly triple by 2050—Miami-Dade officials are finally looking at a smart investment for the city's infrastructure: a direct, non-stop train link between Miami International Airport (MIA) and the cruise terminals, according to Cruise Critic.

According to a recent feasibility study from the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, the county is weighing two main options to bridge the gap.

Related: 6 Biggest Cruise Trends Travelers Are Following in 2026

View this post on Instagram

The first is a nine-mile extension of the existing Metromover system. While this is the "easier" fix because it could potentially use existing bridge infrastructure, the cars are relatively small, holding only about 50 people at a time.

The more robust second option is a 10-mile expansion of the Metrorail, which would require a brand-new bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway but would offer the high-capacity, "one-seat ride" that travelers actually want.

The math on why this matters for your wallet is simple. Right now, getting from the airport to your ship usually means a $30 to $50 rideshare bill, and that’s before surge pricing kicks in on a heavy embarkation day.

A direct train would likely cost just a few dollars, mirroring the current $2.25 Metrorail fare. More importantly, it removes the "traffic variable" entirely. We’ve all seen those stressed-out travelers ditching their Ubers and walking across the Port Boulevard bridge with their luggage just to avoid missing their boarding window; a dedicated rail line would make that a thing of the past.

Related: Seasoned Cruisers Are Issuing a ‘Final Warning’ to Same-Day Flyers

While it's never advisable to fly in the day of a cruise—this new train could make it a little easier to not miss one in case you do.

Of course, this is a massive undertaking with a price tag estimated between $600 million and $800 million.
