Bestselling Author Was Goodreads Readers' No. 1 Fiction in 2025
Finding something new in the world of fiction is more than just finding a book you haven’t read. It’s about finding something that is enjoyable, and so, you’ll start looking at reviews. There are only so many hours in the day, and that means you likely missed a lot of great books from 2025.
Goodreads put together the awards of 2025, just as it has done in previous years. These are all voted on by the readers, and it’s led to some top books to check out. At the top of general fiction is one from the mind of A Man Named Ove, Fredrik Backman.
‘My Friends’ Is Named the Favorite Fiction of 2025The readers voted, and My Friends by Backman made it to the top of the list. It won with 167,509 votes out of 638,200, and the book in second place was a good 60,000 votes behind it. That’s a pretty sure thing when it comes to finding something great to read.
Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy and The Correspondent by Virginia Evans came in second and third place, respectively. The entire list is packed with wonderful fiction from last year, and this covers a variety of genres within the world of storytelling.
‘My Friends’ Is a Story of Friendship and TimeIf you’ve just watched A Man Named Otto, then you’ll have an idea of the type of stories Backman tells. In My Friends, we get a story of friendship. It starts with four teenagers who create a bond so powerful that it changes the life of a stranger 25 years later.
We get a story told across the years. Louisa is an aspiring artist and is captured by a painting of three people at the end of a pier. For most people, the piece of art is all about the sea in the beyond, but Louisa is captivated by the three friends standing together.
Sure enough, the story of these friends comes from 25 years earlier, as we learn about their time telling silly jokes and hanging out on an abandoned pier. Little would they realize that their lives would become something Louisa would find herself enamored with.
There’s no time like the present to read it. My Friends by Backman is not one to sleep on.
'The Pitt' Season 3 Faces Major Shake-Up as Key Cast Member Reportedly Departs
The emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center will be looking a little different come next January, when Season 3 of The Pitt is anticipated to drop.
One series regular since the start is reportedly headed out the door, while another minor player is getting promoted to fill in the gap left behind.
According to a source who spoke with Variety, Supriya Ganesh, who plays resident Dr. Samira Mohan, will not be returning next season. This is reportedly a story-driven decision, rather than a personal one, which makes sense as her character has spent a good deal of the season worrying about what specialty she'll pursue.
Meanwhile, Ayesha Harris, who you'll recognize as senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis (the doctor deposed alongside Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden) over Season 1's measles case) will return as a series regular.
Who Else Is Leaving 'The Pitt'?This marks the first casting update for The Pitt's third season, which was renewed shortly before Season 2 even aired on HBO Max. While technically anyone could be on the chopping block, other faces we consider likely to announce their departure include doctors-to-be Joy Kwon (Irene Choi), who has made her disdain for emergency medicine clear over and over, and potentially James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson), who is eager to learn but not so popular with the rest of the department. However, Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) is also a medical student and has managed to stick around, so we may find ourselves surprised.
There are just three more episodes left to air of Season 2, and then, of course, some downtime for the cast before filming commences on Season 3, so we can likely expect additional casting announcements to trickle in throughout the summer.
What Will Supriya Ganesh Do After 'The Pitt'?Ganesh herself has not addressed the news of her departure, and she currently has no credits in the works on IMDb, so her first post-Pitt project is not yet known.
Who Else Has Left 'The Pitt'?No one else from the current cast has been confirmed to be departing, but after Season 1, Tracy Ifeachor, who portrayed Dr. Heather Collins, left the show, which was also reportedly a creative decision meant to illustrate the nature of a teaching hospital's staffing evolution.
Who Is Pooh Shiesty? Rapper Named in Alleged Gucci Mane Kidnapping
Rapper Pooh Shiesty — real name Lontrell Denell Williams Jr. — was arrested in connection to the abduction of former friend Gucci Mane, TMZ reported on Thursday, April 2.
According to the outlet, Shiesty and pal Big30 "kidnapped and robbed several alleged victims at gunpoint in a Dallas music studio," including the "Wake Up in The Sky" artist.
The alleged incident took place back in January.
Who Is Pooh Shiesty?Shiesty is a Memphis, Tennessee-based rapper, who was previously signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 label.
According to the Department of Justice, which executed warrants in Memphis, Nashville and Dallas on Wednesday, April 1, Shiesty allegedly "executed an armed takeover" of a Dallas studio and forced one of the victims to sign a release letting him out of his contract at gunpoint, TMZ reported.
Pooh got his start with his debut single, "Hell Night," which featured friend Big30, in 2019. He went on to release hits such as "Shiesty Summer," "Choppa Talk," and "Day One."
The Tennessee native has found himself in legal trouble in the past, including a October 2020 arrest in connection with a shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida.
View this post on InstagramHe later pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes, according to Rolling Stone.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime but was released in October 2025 after serving three years, XXL Mag reported.
1993 No. 1 Hit Ranked as a 'Classic Rock Song' That Had Fans Laughing
The '90s were full of resonating rock hits that have stood the test of time as powerful ballads, but not all of them made the most sense. In 1993, rock singer Meat Loaf released a track from his sixth album that was a hit on the charts, but its lyrics and music video made it one of the funniest songs to be released.
American Songwriter published a list of three classic rock songs that reached infamy among fans, but were also so bizarre that they were tagged as such. Bloodhound Gang released the 1999 track "The Bad Touch," which dominated MTV for its music video of the band wearing monkey onesies. The list also includes "Tubthumping" by Chumbawamba, which had many questioning why it even became famous.
Out of the entire list, Meat Loaf’s "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" became a long-lasting rock classic about love—and a mysterious promise fans still debate. The track struck a chord not just for its theatrical sound, but for the lingering question at its core: what exactly won’t he do? To this day, Meat Load has never revealed what he won't do. The song became a massive, resonating hit, blending powerful vocals with a dramatic, almost operatic style that elevated it beyond a typical rock ballad.

The track was written by Jim Steinman and sung by Meat Loaf, withLorraine Crosby as additional vocals. It was released in late August 1993 as part of his Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell album and is considered a "power ballad." Crosby recorded the guide vocals after visiting the MCA studios, but never received any royalties from the song's popularity. Meat Loaf also never fully acknowledged her role and promoted the single with Patti Russo.
"I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" became a commercial success and Meat Loaf's only No. 1 chart-topping hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It also landed in the Mainstream Rock charts at No. 10 and Adult Contemporary at No. 9. Meat Loaf's hit also landed him a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo.
Beyond the track's interesting lyrics, fans also couldn't help but laugh at the accompanying music video. Action director Michael Bay was behind the camera for the music video, and Daniel Pearl from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as cinematographer. Its overall style is based on Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera, with fans laughing at Meat Loaf's heavy beastly prosthetics.
'Age of Attraction' Star Pfeifer Hill Gets Real About Why She Skipped the Tell-All Reunion
Age of Attraction star Pfeifer Hill is setting the record straight after skipping the show's tell-all reunion—and she's doing it on her own terms. In a recent Instagram reel, Hill opens up about the real reason behind her absence, making it clear that her decision wasn't about drama, but about staying aligned with her own values.
In the candid video, Hill explains that she personally declined the reunion invitation. The reunion—hosted on The Viall Files—didn't feel like the right platform for her to share her story. She emphasizes the importance of authenticity, telling followers she only wants to speak in spaces where she feels fully comfortable and genuinely enthusiastic.
View this post on InstagramThe reel carries a calm but firm tone, with Hill reiterating that her choice was not meant to throw "shade" toward host Nick Viall or the cast members who did choose to attend the reunion. She also makes it known that she and her ex—Derrick Fleming, the 43-year-old father of two from Dallas, Texas—ended on good terms. To that end, she frames her decision to back out of the reunion as merely a boundary—one rooted in self-respect and emotional well-being. A key message she leaves viewers with is simple but powerful: Protect your peace.
That mindset mirrors how Hill carried herself throughout the show. She consistently handled inevitable relationship challenges and difficult conversations with composure, calmly expressing her concerns, needs, and boundaries. Throughout the series, she struck an impressive balance—bringing a goofy, fun, and refreshingly real energy while also showing emotional maturity in how she communicated and carried herself.
In her reel, Hill hints at wanting to share her full experience from the show at a later time, on a platform of her choosing, reinforcing her desire to control her own narrative.
Beyond the reunion, Hill's reel also reflects a new chapter in her personal life. She confirms that she has moved on from her on-show relationship and is now in a new one. And she is consciously choosing to prioritize that relationship over media appearances.
View this post on InstagramDuring the reunion, she was exploring Japan with her new partner—a trip that she didn't want to reschedule simply because it was important to her.
View this post on InstagramUltimately, rather than leaning into reality TV drama, Hill is choosing intention over attention. And we're here for it.
Is the Rumor That TSA Is Requiring All Travelers To Use Clear Carry-on Bags by Summer Real?
If you’ve seen social posts claiming that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will soon require all travelers to use clear carry-on bags at airport security, there’s good news and bad news:
Spoiler: That requirement is not real. It originated from an April Fools’ Day article, not an official announcement from the TSA. But the fact that so many people believed it highlights how confusing airport security rules can feel and why travelers need clear information before their next flight.
Stay in the loop with fresh travel stories and updates—subscribe to our newsletter.
The idea that every traveler will be required to use transparent luggage started with a piece on UpgradedPoints.com titled “TSA Announces New Policy: All Travelers Will Need Clear Carry-On Bags Starting This Summer.”
That article sounds official at first glance, but it carries a surprising detail buried near the end: it was published as an April Fools’ Day joke. The author even refers to it as part of an annual tradition and tells readers to “breathe a sigh of relief” because their ordinary carry-on bags are fine for now.
Related: What Is the Fastest Way to Get Through the TSA Today?
Despite that disclaimer, some posts on social platforms and comment threads took the claim seriously, reposting it as fact. This kind of confusion is exactly why travelers often find security rules more frustrating than helpful. On Reddit, one viewer reflected that they initially believed the clear-bag rumor until they realized the date it was posted.
It is worth repeating clearly that the TSA has not announced any requirement for all travelers to carry transparent luggage. No official TSA site, fact sheet, or press release supports that claim.
What TSA Actually Requires in 2026Instead of a clear carry-on mandate, the TSA continues to enforce long-standing security rules and is also gradually introducing modern technologies to improve the experience. Here’s what you should know before you fly:
The Real “Clear Bag” Rule: The 3-1-1 Liquids RuleOne rule that does involve a clear bag is the TSA’s 3-1-1 liquids requirement. This rule limits passengers to liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). All of these containers must fit into one quart-size, clear, plastic, resealable bag per passenger before screening.
This is the rule most people think of when they hear “clear bag,” but it applies only to the bag containing liquids in your carry-on, not your entire suitcase. And the requirement has not changed for 2026.
TSA Travel TipsThe TSA Travel Tips and Travel Checklist emphasize essentials like prohibited items, the liquids rule, acceptable ID, and how to prepare your carry-on for screening. They show that the agency’s focus remains on safety and predictability, not imposing transparent luggage for everyone.
New Technology and Evolving ScreeningWhile there is no clear carry-on mandate, TSA is rolling out new technologies designed to streamline screening. Some airports now use advanced CT scanners, which can create 3D images of carry-on bags. In lanes with these machines, travelers may be allowed to keep certain items, like liquids or electronics, in their bags because the scanner provides a clearer view of what’s inside.
In July 2025, TSA also ended its long-standing requirement that travelers remove shoes at security checkpoints. This change reflects improvements in screening technology and aims to make the experience faster and less intrusive.
At the same time, programs like TSA PreCheck® and private services such as CLEAR+ continue giving frequent flyers options for expedited screening. TSA PreCheck allows eligible passengers to keep shoes, laptops, and liquids in their bags during screening. CLEAR+ uses biometric ID to speed travelers to the front of the line.
How Smart Travelers Navigate TSA TodayInstead of worrying about fake policies, here’s what you can do to make TSA screening smoother and more predictable:
- Pack with the 3-1-1 Rule in Mind: Pack your liquids in one quart-size, clear, plastic bag and know that this is the only baggage transparency requirement at normal checkpoints.
- Keep Your ID Ready: Make sure you have an acceptable ID, like a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, passport, or other TSA-approved ID, before arriving at the airport.
- Consider Trusted Traveler Programs: Programs like TSA PreCheck® and CLEAR+ are not mandatory, but they can significantly reduce wait times at security checkpoints if you travel often.
- Check Security Wait Times Before You Travel: If long lines stress you out, some airlines, like United, provide real-time TSA wait-time estimates in their mobile apps. This feature helps travelers plan arrival times and choose the shortest lane.
- Stay Updated With Official Sources: Always refer to the TSA’s official travel tips page or the agency’s “What Can I Bring?” resource before a trip for the most accurate and current guidance.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s Daughter Has Strong Opinions on Her Dad’s Music
ModelGigi Hadidand singer-songwriter Zayn Malik’s five-year-old daughter Khai has some pretty strong feelings about her dad’s music. With all the music critics out there, Malik probably wasn’t expecting his kiddo to have the biggest opinion. But as it turns out, hers is the most important one—at least when it comes to this celebrity parent.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Pulse, host Brady asked the 33-year-old singer, “I’ve noticed the biggest, um, judge of like new music when you’re testing it out, and like, what do you think of this? They always go to their child…Do you go to her?” Malik replied candidly, talking about his soon-to-be-released new album ‘Konnakol.’
“Definitely. Yeah, there’s some songs like I’ve said a few times that like I don’t want to play to her cuz obviously there’s cuss words and stuff in there. Concepts a bit adult.”
View this post on InstagramSo what does the little girl think about the music that he dad can play for her? The former One Direction boy band star adds, “But she loves my music, um, and she definitely gives me an opinion, you know?” Malik continues, explaining, “She does this thing where she does like the thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs sideways. And if you get a thumbs up and a thumbs sideways, it means it’s pretty good.”
When asked how many of those thumbs up/thumbs sideways did Malik get on his album, the dad answered, “She gave me a double thumbs up for a few songs and there was like a side, side one for one or two.” And if you’re wondering what that double side thumb means, Malik continues, “I think that she wasn’t really into it.”
The interview touched on more than Malik’s music. He opened up about what other performers the five-year-old likes, saying, “She’s into Twice, she’s into Blackpink…that was kind of, you know, a big reason behind why I did the feature with Jisoo, if I’m being honest, cuz my daughter’s such a big fan and I wanted to be cool.” And of course he got, “good dad points for that.”
If you aren’t entirely familiar with who this famous dad collabed with, Jisoo is a South Korean singer who rose to fame as a member of the K-pop girl group Blackpink. Malik also admitted that at five, Khai doesn’t truly understand her dad’s fame. But he does say, “She knows that dad’s a pop star, you know? And that dad sings.” We’re pretty sure that may be more than a bit of an understatement!

Which Classic Rock Queen Matches Your Personality, Based on Birth Month
Whether you grew up worshipping Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie after seeing Fleetwood Mac reunite in 1997 for The Dance or you’ve heard stories from your Boomer parent — or grandparent — about how powerful Janis Joplin was behind the microphone, it’s easy to fall madly in love with the women who ruled classic rock in the mid-20th century. Their legacies continue to influence music to this day.
But which classic rock queen’s vibe matches your own? Look no further than your birth month for valuable intel on the classic rock icon whose perspective and point of view best resonates with your own. Read on to find out which legendary female rock star matches your energy and personality best, based on your birth month.
LEARN MORE:
Which Classic Rock Queen You Are, According to Your Birth MonthBirth months are listed. Disregard your birth date.
January: Janis JoplinIf you were born during the first month of the year, you were born while the sun was moving through industrious Capricorn or progressive Aquarius. Both signs are ruled by Saturn, the planet of hard work, and are focused on forward movement — a vibe that matches that of Janis Joplin, who was the frontwoman of the psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company before becoming a solo star. Born with her sun in Capricorn and Mercury, Venus, and ascendant in Aquarius, Joplin was ahead of her time and was known to be resolutely hardworking and ambitious.
February: Debbie HarryIf you came into the world when the sun was spending time in either eccentric Aquarius or deeply empathic, emotional Pisces, you’re artistic, inventive, imaginative, and probably even a bit ethereal — or slightly psychic. Not only do you not mind being different, but you’re bound to make your mark as a result of it, which echoes the M.O. of Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry, whose natal moon is in Pisces. Harry blended punk, disco, reggae, and hip-hop to create a revolutionary (aka Aquarius-coded!) new sound and served as a highly Piscean creative muse for Andy Warhol.
RELATE?: Which Beatles Song Matches You, Based on Birth Month
March: Pat Benatar
If you were born in March, the sun was either in empathic Pisces or go-getter Aries, offering you the ability to be in tune with your heart, spirit, and instincts. You’re equal parts artistic, romantic, dynamic, and playful. With her natal Venus and Mars in ethereal Pisces, Pat Benatar epitomizes these traits. The hitmaker’s vocal range, feistiness, and creative, covetable aesthetic has made her one of the most popular, badass, and fun-loving female rock stars of the late 1970s and 1980s.
If you were born in April, the sun was moving through either action-oriented, wide-eyed Aries or sensible, grounded Taurus. You’re lighthearted but down-to-earth, heartfelt, optimistic, and proactive — much like The Mamas and the Papas’ “Mama Cass” who made her mark as a standout icon in the 1960s and ‘70s. Although Elliot was born with her sun in Virgo, her Mars was in Aries and she had a Taurus ascendant, which speaks to her earthy voice, signature sense of humor, upbeat, bubbly, “life of the party” personality (Tarantino got it right in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and youthfulness.
May: Stevie NicksWhether you were born when the sun was moving through pragmatic Taurus or social Gemini, you’re eager to make the most of every moment and tend to explore the world through all five senses. You’re whimsical and curious, a vibe that’s reflective of Gemini sun and Mercury Stevie Nicks, the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman and solo star whose unparalleled, game-changing lyrics (think: “Silver Springs,” “Dreams” and “Gypsy”) and epic on-stage performances showcase her supercommunicator powers and joie d’vivre.
FUN!: Your Stevie Nicks Song, Based on Birth Month
June: Ann Wilson (Heart)Born when the sun was in either buzzy Gemini or heartfelt Cancer, you’re in touch with your emotions and able to pivot from one thing to the next without too much trouble. You’re also a visionary like Ann Wilson, who, along with her sister Nancy, has gone down in rock ‘n roll history as a lyricist who transformed the power of emotion into honest, iconic tracks like “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man.” Considered one of the most talented singers in the history of rock, Wilson’s hard rock sound was also considered ahead of her time. She also happens to have been born with her sun and Mercury in Gemini (just like Stevie Nicks).
July: Christine McVieWhether you came into the world when the sun was in caregiving, sentimental Cancer or sunny, bold Leo, you have no trouble letting your heart run the show. Your emotions run deep, and you pour all of who you are into loving others — and expressing your feelings, to boot. That said, your personality syncs beautifully with the late Fleetwood Mac keyboardist and master lyricist, Christine McVie, who was born with her sun in Cancer and a stellium (featuring Jupiter and her north node!) in Leo. McVie wrote some of the band’s most romantic, heartstopping tracks like "Songbird" and “Everywhere” as well as go-getter anthems (“Don’t Stop”) that are like pure caffeine for a Leo person.
August: Linda RonstadtWhether you were born when the sun was in theatrical Leo or thoughtful Virgo, you’re charming, intuitive, and adaptable — not unlike the Queen of Country-Rock, Linda Ronstadt, who was born with her Mercury in Leo and Mars and Venus in Virgo. Known for her versatility and unparalleled showmanship, Ronstadt earned 11 Grammys and a slew of other awards as a heartfelt, authentic voice across genres, including country, folk, pop, rock, and soul. Her music has been beloved for its warmth and ability to speak to the human experience. It’s no wonder she put out platinum and multi-platinum albums in the ‘70s, dethroning some of the most hitmaking male stars like Elton John and Led Zeppelin.
September: Joan JettBorn under either sensitive Virgo or partnership-oriented Libra, you are a perfectionist when it comes to the contributions you share with the world. Joan Jett’s 29 degree Virgo sun (the mark of someone destined to rise to the top) is just one of several placements the rock star has in the mutable earth sign. It’s no wonder she carefully crafted a lasting image as a raucous guitar-playing, bold, take-charge trailblazer that began all the way back when she started the Runaways at 16 years old. And given her longtime partnership with producer Kenny Laguna, she’s also clearly a fan of pairing up with the right people in typical Libra fashion.
October: Grace SlickDuring your birth month, the sun moves through harmony-loving Libra and powerful Scorpio, allowing you to be a truly commanding presence, just like the Jefferson Airplane frontwoman Grace Slick who is thought of as the Queen of Acid Rock. Slick’s psychedelic, Alice in Wonderland-inspired art mirrors the transformative, creative, and spiritual perspective that you possess. Born with her sun, Mercury, and Venus in Scorpio, it’s no wonder she is a fearless force of nature who dominated rock for decades across three bands.
EXPAND: Which Country Song Best Matches Your Personality, Based on Birth Month
November: Chrissie HyndeWhether you were born under transformation- and intimacy-loving Scorpio or wanderlust-filled, buoyant Sagittarius, you’re a fiery, adventurous pioneer who is rarely satisfied with the status quo. A Virgo sun who also happened to be born with her moon in fearless, mysterious Scorpio, Chrissie Hynde reflects all of these attributes as the trailblazing frontwoman of The Pretenders who penned cutting lyrics, offered up rollicking guitar riffs, and consistently challenged the status quo to go down in history as one of the key figures in the birth of punk rock.
December: Tina TurnerBorn with your sun in either globetrotting Sagittarius or industrious Capricorn, you’re a forward-thinker who won’t shy away from going to bat for your biggest, most ambitious aspirations. Whether you tend to be more glass-half-full or grounded and pragmatic, you have what it takes to face down adversity and become a groundbreaking star — a label that undoubtedly fits the late Queen of Rock ‘n Roll whose sun, Mercury, and Venus were all in Sagittarius. In typical December-born style, Turner believed in picking herself up and moving forward at all costs; in her 1987 autobiography, I, Tina, Turner wrote, "I cried and cried, but it didn't do any good. It never does, you know."

Documentaries To Check Out Ahead of the Upcoming Jeffrey Epstein Limited Series
If the headline-grabbing attention of the last batch of Epstein files taught us anything, it’s that the public interest in the horrific crimes of the late sex trafficker is still at an all-time high.
Despite various documentaries on Jeffrey Epstein detailing his decades-long crimes, Hollywood is now stepping into the scripted arena to tell his story courtesy of a new limited series.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Academy Award and Emmy winner Laura Dern will star in and executive-produce a limited series about Jeffrey Epstein from Sony Pictures TV.
The project, which is currently untitled, is based on investigative reporter Julie K. Brown’s New York Times best-selling book Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story. Dern will play Brown in the series.
In 2018, Brown’s reporting on the case for the Miami Herald led to a wave of new charges for Epstein and his currently imprisoned accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as the call for the Department of Justice to release the complete files on Epstein and his high-profile associates, such as Donald Trump.
However, before the limited series graces television screens, there are some notable documentaries to check out about Epstein that take a deep dive into his crimes.
Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring was the subject of the four-part Netflix documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich in 2020, which chronicled how he used his billionaire lifestyle of wealth and moving in high-profile circles to conduct a highly organized sex-trafficking operation. The documentary features interviews with his abuse victims, including the late Virginia Giuffre.
Lifetime also released an Epstein documentary in 2020, which was part of the network’s Surviving series. Surviving Jeffrey Epstein is a four-part doc that also has first-person accounts from survivors of Epstein’s sex-trafficking and examines how he got away with his crimes for decades.
In Investigation Discovery’s Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein? the billionaire financier's July 2019 death in prison is the focus. The documentary puts the spotlight on the myriad of conspiracies surrounding his death and breaks down his final moments before being found hanging in his prison cell.
Although Epstein is not the central subject, the 2022 Netflix follow-up to his Filthy Rich documentary, focusing on his accomplice, is also highly informative regarding his crimes. Ghislaine Maxwell: Filthy Rich takes a look at the close bond between the two and how they worked together to orchestrate the abuse of dozens of young women.
Woman’s Terrifying Solo Travel Experience Is a Stark Reminder To Check Your Surroundings at the Airport
Airports are made for movement, for waiting, for the limbo between places. But sometimes that familiar rhythm can lull you into a false sense of security, especially late at night.
A viral TikTok video from user Peyton captured a frightening experience that feels like it could happen to any traveler who thinks they are just “passing through.” Her story isn’t just a cautionary tale; it’s a reminder that airports can feel safe and still contain real moments of unease.

Alone at the Gate: When Normal Travel Feels CreepyPeyton’s flight was a red‑eye departure. She arrived at Denver International Airport around 11 p.m. and found herself alone in the terminal. The gate area was almost entirely empty. She sat close to the windows with one AirPod in, scrolling and waiting for her boarding call. She didn’t immediately realize that her assigned gate had changed. With no crowds around, she was already slightly disoriented, but nothing in the environment felt threatening yet.

♬ original sound - Peyton Williams | St PeteThen a man walked up and stood in front of her. He asked where she was traveling. Moments later, he lit a cigar inside the airport, an action so unusual that Peyton later said it glaringly set off her alarm bells. “Red flags everywhere,” she said in the video. “Who does that? I’ve never seen anything like that.”

The stranger returned to his question, asking where she was going. After she answered that she was headed home, he kept pressing for details. Then another man sat down just two seats away. Shortly after that, a woman approached from behind, so close that Peyton felt crowded and edged in. The woman sternly reiterated the question: “My friend asked you where you are traveling to.”
Peyton described how her heart began racing, how her voice got choked up, and how an instinctive fear set in when they started asking rapid‑fire questions such as “Why are you nervous?” and “Why won’t you answer us?”
At that point, Peyton pulled out her phone, with 911 already on speed dial, and began frantically calling loved ones, all while these people watched her. The woman reached toward her arm and insisted, “I need you to come to the bathroom with me.” Peyton declined, saying, “Get off me, don’t touch me.” She fled, sprinting toward the Frontier Airlines desk where staffers immediately helped her.
Airport staff kept her safe and ultimately involved an air marshal. According to her recounting and what the agents told her, security footage showed that these individuals had been near her since she first entered the airport.
People got chills as they heard her harrowing tale.
"I would literally think I’m hallucinating," wrote one follower.
"This is terrifying," added another. "I’m proud of you for how you handled this, as a people pleaser, I’m not sure how I would have handled this myself, and this is a great reminder that we don’t owe anyone anything and to always look out for ourselves. So glad you are safe!
Why Airports Can Feel Safe and Still Present RisksAir travel is among the most heavily regulated forms of transportation. Airports follow structured safety procedures, and security systems are designed to keep people safe. For instance, Denver International Airport’s stated safety goals include detecting and proactively addressing hazards, and they encourage travelers to report anything suspicious to staff.
This infrastructure helps minimize major threats, but it can also create a kind of “comfort bubble.” Travelers often assume that once they’ve passed a security checkpoint, the environment is somehow entirely risk‑free. The truth is more subtle. Airports are public spaces with thousands of people moving through them every day, and safety is a partnership between systems and individuals.

How Travelers Can Enhance Their Personal AwarenessIf there’s a lesson from Peyton’s story, it’s this: awareness is as important as your boarding pass. You don’t need to be fearful to be attentive.
1. Trust Your InstinctsWhen something feels “off,” it probably is. Your brain picks up on micro‑cues that your gut processes long before your rational mind catches up. Don’t ignore that feeling.
2. Keep Your Location and Plans CloseIn crowded or quiet airports alike, try to sit in visible areas near staff or other travelers. Avoid isolating spots if something about the situation feels strange. If you must shift seats, do so deliberately and with purpose.

3. Know Where Help IsEvery airport has staff desks, airline counters, and signage for assistance. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, approach an official representative. They have protocols and communication tools to help resolve suspicious interactions quickly.
4. Use Technology WiselyKeep your phone charged, location sharing active with trusted contacts, and emergency numbers accessible.
Madison Marilla and Tyler White of 'Love on the Spectrum' Are Officially Engaged
Love on the Spectrum stars Madison Marilla and Tyler White have officially taken the next step in their love story, announcing their engagement in a heartfelt moment captured on the show's latest season. The couple, both 28, got engaged during a romantic return to Sunken Gardens in Tampa, Florida—the very place where they first met one year earlier.
During episode six of Season 4, which dropped on April 1, the couple celebrated their one-year anniversary. Tyler surprised Madison with a "Christmas in July"–themed setup at the gardens, complete with thoughtful details that reflected their shared love of the holiday. There, he presented her with a heartfelt letter expressing his feelings before getting down on one knee, a moment that left them both in tears.
"I knew in my heart when I met you, that I found someone special, unique and precious," Tyler shared. "With this being our one-year anniversary, I would like to give you a gift to express just how much you mean to me. From the moment I met you, I knew I had met my person, and I don't want to wait another moment to let the world know just how I feel."
From there, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
Madison responded in disbelief and joy. The couple later described the engagement to People as "the best feeling ever," highlighting just how meaningful the milestone was for them.
View this post on InstagramThe couple's journey began on a blind date arranged by the show, where their connection quickly became clear. Since then, their relationship has continued to grow both on and off screen, with Madison even relocating to Florida to be closer to Tyler. They now see each other every day, go on regular dates to dinner or the movies, and attend church every Sunday, according to People. With each other's help, they've learned how to better communicate and have discovered new interests together.
Built on shared passions (largely for country music and the holidays), faith, and mutual understanding, their bond has resonated with viewers and stood out as one of the show's most genuine love stories. Now engaged, Madison and Tyler are looking ahead to their future together, with fans eagerly following along as their story continues to unfold.
After Bobby Flay’s ‘No Marriage’ Declaration, Brooke Williamson Responds: ‘We Have to Be on the Same Page'
Food Network chefs Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson are head-over-heels in love with one another.
Williamson and Flay aren't shy about admitting that now that they have gone public with their romantic relationship. What they are also quite open about is that they have no plans to marry.

The two opened up about that decision in the March 31 episode of the Elvis Duran Show.
Flay said he's "in a great place in my life right now," and he attributes that to Williamson. Duran joked that Flay is "a lot nicer these days, Brooke...He's not as cantankerous and evil as he used to be."
View this post on InstagramFlay refers to Williamson as his "life partner," and she indicated she loves that. When Duran brought up that Flay has said he'll never get married again, Flay interjected, "I wouldn't do that to her."
Williamson shared, "I've been married...I don't have a major emphasis on marriage where I feel like it's a necessary thing."
Regarding Flay's insistence that he will not wed again, Williamson said, "It's a conversation. We both need to be on the same page, and we are."
This took the duo back to when Flay presented Williamson with a huge diamond ring that was not an engagement ring. She has admitted that it was a little confusing.

Williamson explained they were in London, England, together, and Flay asked her again if she was sure she was fine with never getting married. When she reassured him that she was, he said he had a gift for her to show her how committed he is to her and their relationship.
Flay then gave Williamson a "little blue box," and when she saw the ring, she asked him, 'What the f*ck is happening?"
During the podcast, Flay explained he had thought about the idea of the ring for a long time. "I wanted to give her something ot show her that I was committed to this relationship in a way that was bigger than just, like, let's date.
View this post on InstagramWilliamson added that Flay told her, "Just because I don't want to get married again doesn't mean that you don't deserve the big, beautiful ring."
She also noted, "I don't think marriage equals happiness, and I don't think that not being married doesn't mean you can't be the happiest you've ever been."
Fans are loving the dynamic they see between Flay and Williamson.
One fan commented on YouTube, "Bobby is SO IN LOVE and that's beautiful."
On Instagram, another fan wrote, "Love love love Bobby n Brooke together. The smiles on their faces are awesome!!"
‘Love Story’ Legend Ali MacGraw, 88, Is a Gray-Haired Beauty in Birthday Post With Dolores Robinson
Ali MacGraw became an icon of the '70s thanks to her role in Love Story alongside Ryan O'Neal, but she's more beautiful than ever these days.
MacGraw, who turned 88 on Wednesday, earned an Oscar nomination for her role in the beloved 1970 film, which broke hearts around the world. She followed Love Story with films like Players, Just Tell Me What You Want, and The Winds of War. Also known for her romantic relationships with men like Steve McQueen and Robert Evans, MacGraw even accompanied her ex-husband, Evans, when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In the present day, MacGraw is still shining brightly. TV legend Dolores Robinson took to Instagram to honor MacGraw and shared a series of fun photos of the duo, including several throwbacks. In the current pic, MacGraw can be seen looking absolutely stunning with her long, gray hair pulled back.
"Happy Birthday, Ali MacGraw! 🎈We have been girlfriends since 1974! I cherish our friendship!" Robinson captioned the sweet photo set.
View this post on Instagram What is Love Story About?Based on the 1970 novel by Erich Segal, Love Story follows two students from different backgrounds as they fall in love at Harvard. Oliver Barrett IV, played by Ryan O'Neal, is a wealthy jock, while Jennifer "Jenny" Cavilleri, played by MacGraw, is a Radcliffe student studying classical music from a more working-class background. The tearjerker film became a sensation in the '70s and catapulted the phrase "love means never having to say you're sorry" into the lexicon.

Yes. While O'Neal died in 2023, MacGraw had the chance to work with him again when the duo reunited for a tour of the play “Love Letters,” about two childhood friends’ relationship over nearly 50 years as they grow old.
“To sit there and really absorb that perfect piece of writing for us — with somebody that I’ve had a long, long friendship with, multi-layered — was absolutely a privilege,” MacGraw told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in 2019.
‘Matlock’ Star Skye P. Marshall Promises Jaw-Dropping Season 2 Finale: 'It Is Going to Knock You Out' (Exclusive)
Some series that are hits in their freshman season then suffer from sophomore slump. But such is not the case with CBS’ Matlock, which gave us a twist in its premiere episode that is still playing out in Season 2 and keeps fans tuning in to find out just who was responsible for keeping certain discovery out of the Wellbrexa opiod trial, which is what brought Matty Matlock (Kathy Bates) to Jacobson Moore in the first place.
We’ve come a long way since then. And in an interview with Skye P. Marshall, who plays Matty’s boss Olympia Lawrence, Parade got the exciting news that the end is in sight. All will be revealed at the end of this season.
“You’re getting our answer,” Marshall said. “The Wellbrexa case is closing at the end of Season 2. There are going to be so many twists and turns, and who you think is involved and not involved is going to send you to the floor. The finale is going to knock you out. Season 3 is a new day.”
But there are still several episodes to watch until the April 23 finale, including tonight’s “The Cavalry Isn’t Coming,” in which Olympia is removed from defending jury consultant Shae Banfield (Yael Grobglas) following Shae’s arrest for jury tampering, and Matty is asked to take lead.
Last week, there was a scene between Shae and Senior (Beau Bridges) in which he told her she had to win the case they were currently trying, implying Shae’s job depended upon it. That left viewers with a little doubt as to her innocence, but not so Olympia.

“Olympia wasn't present for that conversation, was she?” Marshall points out. “Olympia is looking at it very black and white. There's no grey. Our history doesn't matter when it comes to business affairs. We know Shae and Shae would not bribe a juror. That does not add up, but what does add up is that we are going toe-to-toe with criminals and we've proven that. They have found so many different loopholes around us that we just must keep up the fight. The fact that Jacobson Moore taps out and won't allow Olympia to lead this case, Matty Matlock is the next best thing.”
Related: Matlock Sneak Peek: Olympia Visits Shae Behind Bars After Jury Tampering Arrest (Exclusive)
Olympia believes that wholeheartedly, despite the lack of trust she had in Matty at the beginning of the season. During Season 1, Olympia discovered that Matty was really Madeline Kingston, not Matty Matlock, and that she had taken the job at Jacobson Moore in search of answers that she felt led to the death of her daughter, who overdosed on opioids. When Matty told Olympia that it was either Senior or Olympia’s ex-husband Julian (Jason Ritter), who were responsible, Olympia agreed to work with her to try to keep Julian out of jail. At this point in time, their relationship is such that Olympia is 100 percent with Matty taking over the case.
“One thing they will always trust is our ability to fight for justice. That has never been questioned,” Marshall says. “What has been questioned is her authenticity, her character, her identity, but never her ability to fight for justice. She has proven that time and time. It's how she was able to not just get on my team but stay on my team during Season 1. She was clever. She's always been ambitious and always has had the attributes to get the job done. Something that I feel Olympia is really great at is compartmentalizing the personal from the business -- church and state.”
Related:CBS Announced 2025-2026 Broadcast Season Finale Dates
Speaking of compartmentalizing, Marshall has had to do a little of that herself since her real-life husband, Edwin Hodges, has been brought on, starting in tonight’s episode, to play Langston Wright, a smooth-talking, intelligent character who is introduced to Olympia in a hallway by his cousin. First, he serves as an expert witness for Olympia's, but who knows where it goes from there.
Skye P. Marshall as Olympia Lawrence and Edwin Hodge as Langston WrightPhoto: Michael Yarish/CBS
“[Showrunner] JennieUrman loves my husband,” Marshall says. “She knew him, and CBS knew him before I did. I met him at a network test for Good Sam, which was a CBS series, so Jennie was there. She may have actually seen my knees buckle. So, for him to be walking on the set of Matlock, it's extremely exciting. I did not know what he was going to do with the Langston character. So, when he came around that corner in that outfit with that smile, I was captivated. Truly. That reaction was a very honest reaction and I even improvised the look back at the end after walking down the hall because he really did look that fine and that sexy to me. I was, ‘We need to get you a personal shopper. I need that whole outfit in your closet.’”
Hodges will be returning in Season 3. It’s too soon to know whether or not their romance will blossom, especially since Olympia was warned by Langston’s cousin that he was a player, but he's been the first man in Olympia's life since her divorce to make her weak in the knees.
“What I think would be really beautiful is for them to show how Olympia finally attempts to balance both worlds and refuses to shrink in either one of them,” Marshall says. ‘Being a working woman and having an intimate partner like you see with Matty Matlock and Edwin Kingston [Sam Anderson]. At the end of 212, Matty chose Shae over her 50th anniversary. I think that we forget that for working women, they're constantly shaping the space for ambition and intimacy to coexist, and I would love to see Olympia take on that task and be able to find that balance.”
Matlock airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Streams next day on CBS.

'Bachelorette' Contestant Denies Rumor Taylor Frankie Paul Stormed Off Set
Bachelorette contestant Casey Hux is setting the record straight on Taylor Frankie Paul.
According to TMZ, Hux brought up Paul’s 2023 domestic violence arrest during a one-on-one date on the show, and the outlet claimed she became very emotional while talking about it.
Another source told TMZ that Paul had a “full-fledged meltdown” when the arrest was brought up and even stormed off set.
However, during the Thursday, Apr. 2 episode of the BachelorHappy Hour podcast, Hux denied the story—and instead offered up his version of events.

“We were hanging out at an undisclosed place at an undisclosed time, and she brought up what happened and went into it in very intensive detail, just like with the incident with her kid,” Hux began.
Paul’s season was scheduled to premiere on Mar. 22. On Mar. 19, ABC pulled the plug on her season after TMZ released a never-before-seen video of the incident that led to her arrest.
In the clip, Paul can be seen throwing a bar stool at her ex-boyfriendDakota Mortensen which accidentally struck her daughter, who was 5 at the time.
“When that video came out, she had already very fully described it to me. Like, I had a mental image of that same scene. So it was not something she shied away from,” Hux continued. “She was asking us these same questions. She would ask the tough questions and needed to know these, and as someone that’s here with intentionality and someone that’s like, ‘I’m making a lifetime decision,’ you should know these things and should ask these questions.”
He added, “She was the one that brought it up originally, and when she did, it took me a little while to process it. So she brought that up, and we were having a really good night at that time, and it just wasn’t the time or the place, and I didn’t really know how I was feeling.”
Hux then recalled bringing up the situation again the next time he saw Paul, and he claims she was “super cool, calm and collected about it.”
"There was no storming off,” he said. “There was no anger. There was sadness. The only thing that I could imagine is being worse than the person on the receiving end of that is the person that knows they did that and has to live with that for the rest of their lives. If it was me, I would be beating myself up over that every day, and it would make it so hard, like, not to go back to that and not to lose control again because you’re just on edge all the time.”
“But I brought it up and explained like, ‘Hey, this is why I ended my relationship. This is kind of a sore subject for me. This is probably something that, I don’t know, is close to me,'" he continued. "And she was like, ‘Yeah, it was the worst day of my life, and I did something about it. I gave up drinking after that.’ And it’s like, to me, that was enough.”
Hux also noted that the reality star “took an actionable change about what happened and showed intention and has followed through on that and was accountable for it.”
“That meant the world,” he concluded. “I thought it was a really powerful moment between us two, and I’m really glad we got the opportunity to just sit down one-on-one and and talk about it like that because if it was me reading a news article and coming up with my own opinions on what happened with limited information and not being able to talk to her in a vulnerable state, who knows what I would have thought.”
If you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, help is available 24 hours a day through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

1959 Fantasy Epic Ranked No.1 'Best Movie Adaptation of Popular Novels' by Goodreads
Some of Hollywood's biggest movie franchises are thanks to hit novels that developed a die-hard fanbase. Among the many that became box office successes and sold millions of copies, only one novel was ranked as having been the best movie adaptation of a novel.
J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" took the No. 1 spot in a list by Goodreads where readers voted on the "best movie adaptations of popular novels." The hit fantasy novel released in 1959 may not have been a shocker, with the movie franchise having sparked an entire pop culture craze and fandom to match the novels.
The epic high fantasy novel was created as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's book "The Hobbit" and is tagged as one of the best-selling books ever written. Its title is in reference to the book's main antagonist, the Dark Lord Sauron, who created the One Ring who would "rule them all" as the Rings of Power were given to men, dwarves, and elves. The crux of the novel's story begins in the Shire, a hobbit land where the hobbit Frodo comes into possession of the ring.
He, alongside his devoted friends,Sam, Merry, and Pippin venture across Middle-earth with the help of the wizard Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, the elf Legolas, and the dwarf Gimli to destroy the ring in the fires of Mount Doom. Along the way, they formed the Company of the Ring with the mission to fight against Sauron's army.
"The Lord of the Rings" is generally known as a trilogy consisting of three volumes: "The Fellowship of the Ring" (1954), "The Two Towers" (1954), and "The Return of the King" (1955). In 2001, director Peter Jackson brought Tolkien's popular novels to life with the fantasy film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It starred Elijah Wood as Frodo, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn,Sean Astin as Sam, Liv Tyler, Orlando Bloom, and many more.

The movies were considered one of the most ambitious film projects as all three film installments were shot simultaneously in New Zealand from 1199 until 2000. The Lord of the Rings quickly became known as the greatest and most influential film series ever made, with the first installment having made over $897 million worldwide. Overall, all three films grossed $2.964 billion at the box office. It also won 17 Oscars over the span of its movie releases.
It resonating and long-lasting success is one of the biggest novel and movie fandoms, and even led to a prequel series titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and the live-action The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
Goodreads' list also includes none other than J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", "Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell, "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins, and "The Godfather" by Mario Puzo.
1990s Country King Celebrates 31 Years of Hit Album Full of Timeless Love Anthems
Few artists defined the sound of 1990s country romance quite like John Michael Montgomery. With his smooth baritone and heartfelt delivery, Montgomery became a staple on country radio, crafting songs that captured love in its most sincere and vulnerable forms. Now, fans are celebrating 31 years since his 1995 self-titled album, John Michael Montgomery, first topped the charts, cementing his legacy as a "country king."
From first dances at weddings to quiet moments on long drives, Montgomery's music has found its way into the most intimate corners of listeners' lives. His tracks have withstood the test of time as some of the genre's most beloved love songs. And they continue to be rediscovered by new generations.
Montgomery made an immediate impact with his 1992 debut album Life's a Dance, which produced hits like "I Love the Way You Love Me" and the title track. He followed it with the hugely successful 1994 album Kickin' It Up, featuring career-defining No. 1 singles like "I Swear" and "Be My Baby Tonight."

Released during the golden era for country music in 1995, his self-titled album stood out for its emotional depth and storytelling. It features timeless love songs like "I Can Love You Like That," which helped define 1990s country romance. In fact, "I Can Love You Like That" debuted on the Billboard Hot Country chart in early March 1995 and, by April, it was already gaining massive momentum and radio play. Just a few weeks later, it would hit No. 1, and then return to No. 1 again in May.
Other big hits from John Michael Montgomery include No. 1 singles like "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)" and "Cowboy Love," along with fan favorites like "No Man's Land" and "Long as I Live."
As the album marks its 31st anniversary, it serves as a reminder of a moment when country music wore its heart unapologetically on its sleeve. For longtime fans, it's a nostalgic return to a defining chapter in their lives. For newer listeners, however, it's an invitation to experience the sincerity that made John Michael Montgomery a household name in country music.
