In 1975, a single film changed Hollywood forever.

Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg, has been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, further cementing its legacy as one of the most influential films ever made.

The film, based on the book of the same name by Peter Benchley, is set in the fictional beach town of Amity Island, the film follows police chief Martin Brody, played by Roy Scheider, as he teams up with a marine biologist and a seasoned shark hunter to track down a massive great white shark terrorizing the community. What unfolds is a suspense-driven story that blends horror, adventure and character drama.

"The first thing I told Peter Benchley was I didn't see any room in this adventure for the affair between Ellen Brody, the wife of the chief of police, and the ichthyologist," said Spielberg in an interview for Vanity Fair.

"That was like a Peyton Place scandal that I didn’t feel had any place in the kind of movie I wanted to make. But I was mostly intrigued and swept away by Peter Benchley's enormous storytelling skills in the rest of the novel, with a sea-hunt survivors adventure. That's what I wanted to focus on—and I wanted to get there without having to deal with the nonessential peccadilloes going on in a town without pity. So, the affair never really made it even into the early script that Peter Benchley wrote."

Upon its release, Jaws became the first true summer blockbuster, drawing massive audiences and setting a new standard for wide theatrical releases. Its success reshaped the film industry, proving that a single movie could dominate the box office and capture the cultural conversation.

"“I was naive about the ocean, basically. I was pretty naive about mother nature and the hubris of a filmmaker who thinks he can conquer the elements was foolhardy, but I was too young to know I was being foolhardy when I demanded that we shoot the film in the Atlantic Ocean and not in a North Hollywood tank," Spielberg told Entertainment Weekly. "But had I to do it all over again I would have gone back to the sea because it was the only way for the audience to feel that these three men were cast adrift with a great white shark hunting them."

The film's tension-filled storytelling was amplified by its now-iconic score from composer John Williams, whose two-note motif became instantly recognizable. Combined with Spielberg's direction, the film created a sense of suspense that has influenced generations of filmmakers.

Beyond its box office success, Jaws has remained a critical favorite for decades, frequently appearing on lists of the greatest films ever made. Its impact can still be felt in modern thrillers and blockbuster filmmaking alike.

The pair of Hollywood icons have both won Best Lead Actor Oscars two years in a row, with Crowe nabbing his trophies in 2001 and 2002.

It's hard to believe this year marks the 25th anniversary of Gladiator cleaning up at the Academy Awards — with Crowe, now 61, being honored for his heroic turn in Ridley Scott's masterpiece.

Two and a half decades later, the New Zealand-born Australian performer is still keeping busy in Hollywood with yet another fighting-centric film soon hitting the masses.

From Lionsgate, Beast will be released in theaters on April 10. Here's the official synopsis: After years away from the cage, a once-feared MMA champion is pulled back in for the fight of his life when his younger brother is put in danger. Reuniting with the trainer (Crowe) who once made him a legend, he commits to one final showdown against the reigning title-holder — a brutal fighter determined to dismantle the ex-champ’s legacy in front of the world. Pushed to his breaking point, the contender’s stakes are simple: win, or lose everything he’s built.

The film is rated R for language throughout, some violence/bloody images and sexual material/nudity. Tickets are already on sale here.

Fans have taken to the comments section of Lionsgate's YouTube post to express their excitement for the upcoming MMA movie. "HOT DAMN I love me some Russel Crowe!" wrote one user, while another person commented, "reminds me of when Russell was in Cinderella Man."

On that note, fans of Crowe's filmography will recall his 2005 film Cinderella Man, which was also Oscar-nominated and revolved around fighting.

Michelle Dick, the woman against whom the legendary former Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham took out a restraining order, has spoken out following the musician's recent attack in Santa Monica.

In case you missed it, Buckingham was entering a building for an appointment one morning when an unnamed woman, who was lying in wait inside, threw an unidentified substance at him in a surprise attack. While the suspect has not been publicly named, police have confirmed that they know her identity, as she has been involved in prior incidents with Buckingham. An arrest is reportedly forthcoming, though, at the time of writing, it does not seem to have occurred.

While Dick has not been named as the suspect in this incident, and while she has not admitted to any involvement in this case, she spoke with Los Angeles news affiliate KTLA5's Sandra Mitchell in the wake of the news breaking, where she did admit to approaching the musician sometime last week.

She also revealed that sometime after the restraining order against her was granted, she returned to Buckingham's home, "one time...last year."

“But I didn’t know I had a restraining order on me," she clarified. She also told the publication that she's been living in her car.

Buckingham was granted a temporary restraining order against then-52-year-old Dick in December of 2024, which ordered her to stay 100 yards away from not only him, but his wife Kristen and their son, William. It was quickly upgraded to a permanent restraining order, though it does expire in December 2029.

Dick allegedly started harassing the rocker and his family in 2021, tracking down all of their phone numbers and leaving threatening messages on a daily basis. She claims Buckingham is her father, and eventually started showing up at the home—and even reportedly once swatted the family.

YES, the British progressive rock band has issued a concerning update, prompting fans to send their healing thoughts for a member.

Set for a major tour with five members, the “Owner of a Lonely Heart" hitmakers announced sad news to the public, especially those who are looking forward to their upcoming tour.

In an Instagram post, YES updated fans on the health status of guitarist Steve Howe, who will undergo an “essential operation,” which will require time for his recovery.

Due to this, the band was forced to make major changes for their 2026 U.K. and European leg.

According to their statement, they will be postponing the scheduled tour, which was supposed to kick off on April 22 in Glasgow.

“The upcoming YES ‘Fragile’ UK and EU Tour, due to commence on 22nd April, has had to be postponed as guitarist Steve Howe requires an essential operation that requires recovery time. This decision has been made to ensure that Steve can return to the stage in full health and deliver the performances that fans deserve,” the caption reads.

Despite the sudden changes, the band assured fans that they are working to reschedule the UK and EU  shows and advised the public to wait for full details.

Lastly, YES also expressed their gratitude to fans and hoped for their continued support, especially during this time for their recovering band members.

“We are working hard to reschedule the UK and EU shows to a later date, with full details to be announced after Easter. Please retain your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Tour dates currently being arranged for later in 2026 will proceed as planned. Steve Howe and YES would like to thank their UK fans and hope for their continued support at this time,” the message says.

The unexpected post received overwhelming support from fans who were wishing Howe a speedy recovery.

“Prayers ascending for Steve!! He inspired me to start playing,” one wrote.

“Wishing Steve a full & speedy recovery,” a commenter said.

The same goes for another follower who mentioned “Prayers for a successful surgery, speed recovery, and for all those caring for you, and for you and your family, Mr. Howe.”

“I wish Steve a full and quick recovery. However, don't reschedule the tour, simply bring in a new guitarist and keep on touring as you have in the past,” an Instagram user added.

Although the band did not disclose the reason for the surgery, he previously canceled a solo performance in 2023 due to health issues

"I’m so very sorry to have to cancel tonight’s performance due to a cut on my left thumb that inhibits any guitar playing,” he confirmed through a Facebook post.

As mentioned, YES are set for a jam-packed April and May schedule for their UK and EU tour and were supposed to perform in major cities like Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, London, Paris and more.

The X-Files star David Duchovny is set to star alongside Laverne Cox in the upcoming film Soapbox, and his transformation for the role leaves him unrecognizable.

Duchovny, 65, appeared in photos from the Los Angeles set, which were obtained by Daily Mail, in full drag.

The beloved actor nearly went unnoticed as he donned a blonde wig, a lacy black button-up top, which was left halfway undone, and a sequined black mini skirt. The look was completed with black sunglasses, pantyhose with a seam down the front of his leg and red lipstick.

According to Deadline, the film — which will also star Duchovny's 26-year-old daughter, West Duchovny — is "a satirical comedy following an aging soap opera star who finds himself caught in the absurdities of today’s culture wars."

While little else is known about the film's plot, Duchovny is credited as a co-writer on the project along with Max Barbakow.

Randall Park, Jimmi Simpson, and Jennifer Grey are also set to appear in the Andrew Jay Cohen film.

Susan Seaforth Hayes, the longtime icon of Days of Our Lives, recently shared a glimpse into a family trip to Disneyland with fans on social media.

Hayes posted photos and videos from the outing on Instagram, writing, “Spent an enchanted time at Disneyland yesterday, hosted by my imaginative grandson, David Samuel, of Freestyle Capital.”

The actress noted that she hadn’t visited the park since she was 35, over 47 years ago.

Nurse and case manager Noelle Hastings, played by Meta Golding, has been popping in and out of the emergency room all season of The Pitt. The Beach Boys delivered a surprising announcement to fans ahead of their highly anticipated tour.

As the band continues their 2026 international tour, the “Wouldn’t it Be Nice” hitmakers shared an exciting collaboration for a good cause.

In a social media update, the band’s official Instagram account revealed the upcoming promotional giveaway contest in support of the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting oceans and beaches.

The mechanics include donating to the foundation, which automatically gives participants entries or chances to win the giveaway.

The winner will be selected randomly. Only one winner will be chosen and they may bring one guest.

As for the lucky winner and their guest, they will receive a special themed vacation experience inspired by the band, plus other exciting surprises.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, led by founding member Mike Love, is pressing on with its tour in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the album Pet Sounds.

Following a string of shows in South Carolina and Florida last January, and performances in New Mexico and Arizona last February, The Beach Boys will return to Florida in March. They will bring their timeless hits to the United Kingdom for shows starting June 14.

Moreover, the band has also expanded their upcoming tour to major cities in North America, kicking off on April 3 in Utah, including new stops in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Ontario and more.

Exactly seven decades ago, Johnny Cash strolled into Sun Studio in Memphis, Tenn. to record a track that helped build not only his own foundation, but that of country crossovers.

His hit track "I Walk the Line," which was only the third single of his career, after “Cry! Cry! Cry!” and “So Doggone Lonesome,” would go on to become his first No. 1 country single later that same year, and also served as his first Hot 100 hit, spending 43 weeks on the Billboard pop charts and selling over two million units.

Wide Open Country describes it as "one of the most recognizable songs in country music," while fellow legend Bob Dylan once gushed to Rolling Stone that it was "different than anything else you had ever heard." The publication shared a unique piece of history about the legendary record—part of its individuality stems from the fact that the original tape was damaged somewhere along the line (pun intended). Cash was into the sound, though, adding a genius beat to it by slipping some wax paper through the strings of his guitar.

"I Walk the Line" stands the test of time, with countless artists putting their own spin on it throughout the years. Dolly Parton covered the track in 1984, Joaquin Phoenix in 2005, and Halsey in 2015 — and that barely scratches the surface.

It also essentially snowballed him into a hitmaker, with many more No. 1s to follow, including “There You Go,” “Home of the Blues,” “Ballad of a Teenage Queen,” and “Guess Things Happen That Way.” 

Cash wrote "I Walk the Line" after marrying his first wife, Vivian Liberto, at just 22 years old. After signing with Sun Records, he was slated to open for Elvis Presley on tour. Given his rabid female fanbase, Cash penned the track as a reminder and a promise to be faithful.

But, since it hit it so big, he raked in a new fanbase of his own, and just months after its release, he met his second wife, June Carter. The two began an illicit affair a few years later, and Liberto eventually filed for divorce.

On April 2, 1979, dance floors across the United States pulsed to one unforgettable beat. The disco track “Dancer” by Gino Soccio climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Disco chart, marking a defining moment in music history that still echoes 47 years later.

Released as part of his debut album Outline, “Dancer” quickly became more than just a hit; it became a club phenomenon. The track held the No. 1 position for six straight weeks, proving its massive popularity at the height of the disco era. While it reached only No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100, its dominance in clubs told a much bigger story: this was a song made for movement, energy and connection.

Soccio, a Canadian multi-instrumentalist and producer, crafted “Dancer” almost entirely on his own. He wrote, produced, arranged and performed the track, showcasing his rare ability to control every part of the music-making process. 

The success of “Dancer” wasn’t just about chart numbers; it was about how people experienced the song. In New York City’s famous Paradise Garage club, DJ Larry Levan turned the track into a legendary moment for partygoers.

“They would play that song three times in a row sometimes, and it was already an eight-minute song,” Soccio recalled in a 2013 interview. “It was twenty-four minutes of ‘Dancer,’ and people just would not get enough of it. It really was something. It blew me away.”

That moment captured the spirit of disco in 1979. Clubs were places where music lasted longer, energy stayed high, and songs like “Dancer” became shared experiences. The extended mix, with its looping beats and hypnotic rhythm, made it perfect for long nights of dancing.

Beyond the U.S., the song also performed well internationally. It reached No. 6 on Canada’s RPM Top Singles chart and No. 46 in the United Kingdom. Despite being his only entry on the Billboard Hot 100, “Dancer” remains Soccio’s most recognized work.

Decades later, “Dancer” continues to influence music and culture. Its reputation as a disco classic has only grown stronger over time. In 2022, it was ranked No. 22 on a list of the “Best Disco Songs of All Time,” proving its lasting appeal among fans and critics alike.

The track also crossed into pop culture shortly after its release. It was featured in a club scene in the 1979 film Suhaag, helping introduce its sound to wider audiences.

Soccio himself became known as a “one-man band” during his peak years from the late 1970s to early 1980s. He played multiple instruments, programmed synthesizers and handled production duties on his records. His debut album Outline helped launch him into international fame, with “Dancer” leading the charge.

Despite his success, Soccio later stepped away from the spotlight. After the mid-1980s, he chose a private life, rarely appearing in public or releasing new music.

Today, 47 years after topping the charts, “Dancer” stands as a reminder of disco’s golden age. It captures a time when music brought people together under flashing lights and pounding beats, creating memories that still live on.

There are some songs that never fail to make you cry, no matter how many times you hear them...and no matter what's going on in your life at the time. A perfect example is the heartbreaking hit "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)" by Phil Collins, which was inspired by a devastating real-life breakup.

Phil Collins originally wrote the song for his first solo album, Face Value, but decided against including the track. It wasn't until he was asked to provide a tune for the movie Against All Odds that he found himself going back to his unused demo.

"I was really hot at the time, and they said, 'Have you got a song for this movie of ours?' I said, 'I’m not able to do it on the road, but I have a demo of this ballad.' It was basically like saying, 'Here’s $10 million. Would you want it?'" Collins told Rolling Stone in 2016.

Even if Collins wasn't initially a huge fan of his own song, everybody else liked it quite a bit: "Against All Odds" became his first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It could be that part of what made the song so relevant was that Collins poured his own heartbreak into the tune, which was penned while he was divorcing his first wife, Andrea Bertorelli.

“That song was written during my first divorce,” Collins once said, per Far Out. “My first wife and the kids had gone, and I was left there. The song was written out of experience as opposed to a ‘what if’ song."

“If that personal stuff had not happened to me at the time, I probably would have never made an album, and if I was to have made an album eventually, it probably would have been a jazz-rock thing," he continued.

Collins went on to say that he didn't like "Against All Odds" as much as "You Know What I Mean," and he "thought there was only room for one of those on the album. I don’t know what would have happened to it if [director] Taylor Hackford hadn’t got in touch.”

Interestingly, Collins had already written the lyrics before he saw the film.

"When I think about the movie, the first thing that comes to mind is the size of Rachel Ward’s breasts," he quipped. "I thought they were fantastic. I like Jeff Bridges, too."

While Against All Odds the movie didn't win any major awards, the song did win Collins the 1984 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance and was nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar (it lost to Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You").

The tween (she’ll turn 13 this summer) joined Ye onstage while performing at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 1. And no, this isn't a nepo baby stunt. The daughter of two ultra-famous high-profile celebs has some serious talent. And props to the 12-year-old for venturing out onto the stage of a packed arena. 

At a time when most kiddos tremble at the thought of singing in front of parents at a school talent show, North had the courage and confidence to perform in front of thousands. And it looks like Ye’s fans were more than happy to hear North’s songs ‘Piercing On My Hand’ and ‘Talking.’ 

While plenty of positive comments poured in on social media, some weren’t exactly glowing. Along with raves such as “The show was absolutely amazing in every possible way,” and “His spitting image…twins!”, some took a different approach. One commenter wrote, on Us Weekly’sInstagram post, “Doesn’t this man have 4 kids?? Why is she the only one he's ever seen with??” 

Regardless of what Ye’s fans thought, it seems like North has her own following. The budding superstar recently posted a clip of her original music on Instagram, captioning the now-viral video, “ep soon.” Commenters gushed, “This is fire,” “Keep going…I need more beats,” and, “She literally has infinite swag.” 

Of course, this wasn't exactly North’s first time appearing in front of thousands of screaming fans. Back in 2024, the then-10-year-old played the role of Young Simba in The Lion King 30th Anniversary concert at the Hollywood Bowl. 

Sure, it’s a very different type of performance than her most recent one. But, like her daddy-daughter duet, it also got plenty of attention. Kardashian fiercely defended her daughter against a nepo baby backlash, “As a mom, just seeing your child have so much fun and not be nervous at all, she did such a great job. And anyone who is hating on a kid is just a hater.”

In 1977, The Marshall Tucker Band released a song that would go on to define both their career and the country rock genre.

Their hit, "Heard It in a Love Song," became one of the band's biggest successes, reaching the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning lasting recognition decades later. The track has since been ranked among the best country rock songs of all time by Ultimate Classic Rock, highlighting its enduring impact.

Written by lead singer Doug Gray, the song stands out for its smooth blend of country storytelling and rock instrumentation. With its laid-back groove and instantly recognizable melody, it captured the essence of the Southern rock sound that defined the era.

"Well, it was kind of strange. I put off singing that song for a year because, here I was thinking to myself, 'That’s just too simple if a song for Marshall Tucker to put out there,' with all these other complex songs that we’ve got out," Gray said in a 2018 interview.

"It finally got to the point where the record was coming out. So they said, 'OK, we got the track. You got to come put the vocal on it.' I put the vocal on it, they put the thing out, and four weeks later it was starting to chart. And everybody, all these teeny-bopper people, were there listening and singing to it." So those teeny-bopper people are now in their 40s or 50s or 60s.”"

At its core, "Heard It in a Love Song" is a breakup anthem, one that leans into emotional honesty without becoming overly dramatic. Its lyrics reflect on love, loss and the fleeting nature of relationships, delivered with a sense of quiet resignation that resonated with listeners.

Formed in the early 1970s in South Carolina, The Marshall Tucker Band became known for their fusion of rock, country and jazz influences, often incorporating flute and extended instrumental sections into their music. Songs like this helped them stand out among their Southern rock peers and build a loyal fan base.

More than four decades later, the track still holds its place as a defining country rock classic, one that captured the sound of its time while delivering a message that feels just as relevant today.

Pillsbury quietly uploaded two new place-and-bake sugar cookie shapes to its website: the new Pillsbury Soccer Ball Sugar Cookies and Spider-Man-inspired print. Both of which add some flair to the original treat, with Pillsbury adding a grid-like pattern to one set, making each cookie resemble a soccer ball. In the new Marvel variety, Pillsbury prints the beloved superhero's mask all over the fan-favorite ready-to-bake sugar cookie, as seen in images on the Pillsbury website.

It didn't take long for fans to notice the update and share their excitement online.

"Give me all the cookies🤲🏻🍪," food blogger Markie_devo gushed on Thursday.

Pillsbury's new seasonal sugar cookie shapes are expected to be available wherever other Pillsbury products are sold later this spring and through summer. That said, the exact release date of either product remains unclear, though it appears some stores may already have packs of the 20-precut cookies in stock for about $4.89 (prices may vary), per Instacart.

Given that the new Spider-Man movie makes its theatrical release on Friday, July 31, and the World Cup kicks off shortly before that, we would assume the distribution of its new cookies would ramp up and become more widely available in the coming weeks ahead of Memorial Day Weekend.
