"This song has been in my pocket for a few years now," he captioned the update, which also included a clip of the new track. "I have loved it, been inspired by its message and thought that there couldn’t be a better time to release it for ya’ll."

McGraw concluded, "In the times we live in, sometimes a gentle reminder of what the 'message' really means can hit home in many ways. I hope you have a wonderful, grateful and fulfilling Easter weekend."

In December, the "Live Like You Were Dying" singer, 58, debuted "Different" at a Las Vegas concert.

The lyrics speak of a man who is ostracized for being different. McGraw sings in one verse, "Some like to criticize the way I live my life. /You see, I like my wine and I spend my time with a bunch of guys. /I ain't ashamed to admit, that some of my best friends /Live their lives and sometimes die out on the edge. / You might call them whores and freaks. /But they're just like me, different."

At the end, however, the narrator reveals that he is Jesus Christ. McGraw sings:

"My name is Jesus /I live in Galilee /There's an angry crowd right now coming after me /You've never seen such fear /You've never seen such hate /And if I'm right, before tonight, I will be betrayed / With a kiss from another man / That's how I'll know I am different."

In the comments of McGraw's Good Friday post, fans praised the country crooner for his meaningful message amid political turmoil in the U.S. and globally ahead of the Christian holiday.

"Perfect for the day and for our times❤️❤️❤️," one Instagram user wrote.

Another fan shared, "Absolutely beautiful song! Brought tears to my eyes! Then full on sobbing when we saw you perform this song in Vegas! Please, please, everyone, please listen to this beautiful, moving song! 🎧."

Someone else echoed, "Great song, Tim! Perfect tune for this season of difficulty. Happy Good Friday, and wishing you and your family a blessed Easter."

A different fan declared, "Song is incredible."

Meanwhile, yet another follower commented, "Thank you for this thoughtful song with its special message, especially in times like these. 😍❤️ I wish you and your family happy Easter 🐣🌼☀️❤️."

Nancy Guthrie Update: FBI Pursuing 'Best Lead' in the Case (Report)

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:24am

The FBI is zeroing in on what it believes could be the most promising lead yet in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, according to a new report, as the case enters its third month. On a recent episode of Crime Stories With Nancy Grace, the latest developments in the case were discussed.

During the episode, Grace said that authorities are working their "best lead" in the case, which has been ongoing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

“Many people believe that Bitcoin cannot be traced, and tonight, we are learning the FBI believes that’s their best lead on who took Miss Guthrie," Grace said, referring to the Bitcoin ransom requests that were sent to the family early on in the investigation.

During the episode, Grace spoke with Ari Redbord, the Global Head of Policy at TRM Labs, who discussed how the Bitcoin address set up—presumably by the people responsible for Guthrie's disappearance—can be used to aid in the investigation.

"Anytime that there’s a cryptocurrency address involved in a case, it’s an immediate lead,” Redbord said. “And what most people don’t understand about cryptocurrency is, every transaction occurs on a public blockchain, particularly Bitcoin."

"Meaning, every transaction is traceable, trackable, and immutable. In other words, it’s there forever. In other words, crypto is the ultimate crime scene," he added.

Back in February, Parade interviewed Tony Yazbeck, co-founder of The Bitcoin Way, for some insight into Bitcoin as it relates to the Guthrie case.

“Asking for ransom in Bitcoin lets the person demanding payment avoid banks, chargebacks, and identity checks that normally come with wire transfers or cards. It also works across borders instantly, so they do not have to deal with exchange rates or international banking rules,” Yazbeck explains.

“Another big factor is that Bitcoin feels anonymous to most people, which gives the person making the demand confidence that they are harder to identify and stop," he added.

Royal Caribbean Cancels Over 20 Cruises For 2027

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:21am

There's nothing worse than receiving that unexpected message from your selected cruise brand informing you that your scheduled voyage has been canceled.

Sadly, such a fate has fallen on hundreds of travelers slated to sail aboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, as revealed in a recent story by both People magazine and TravelPulse.

While this news might prove understandably frustrating for some travelers who previously set their cruise with Royal Caribbean, the cruise line informed passengers that the cancelation was due to recent redeployment changes, allowing Freedom of the Seas to make increased demands for Southampton sailings.

"Deployment planning is dynamic and regularly reviewed based on demand, capacity requirements, and broader fleet considerations. As part of this process, we’ve made the decision to redeploy Freedom of the Seas to Southampton in 2027," the cruise line informed passengers. "Guests and travel partners are being contacted directly with details about their sailings and available options."

The planned cruises included several Caribbean voyages from May into September 2027. Any guests affected by the cancelation are being offered an alternative four-night cruise on the Wonder of the Seas out of Miami, with other optional sailings including a five-night Western Caribbean cruise on the Adventure of the Seas or a three-night cruise to the Bahamas on the Jewel of the Seas.

The unexpected change in Royal Caribbean's planned sailings come only a short time after Carnival similarly announced the cancelation of 11 scheduled cruises later this year. The cruises were originally expected to take place aboard the Carnival Firenze in fall 2026.

“Due to changes to itinerary plans, we have cancelled sailings aboard Carnival Firenze scheduled between October 12, 2026, and November 16, 2026,” a spokesperson for the cruise line told People at the time.

“We have apologized to our impacted guests and are offering them the option to rebook another Carnival cruise with their cruise fare protected on a comparable sailing in similar accommodations, along with an onboard credit,” Carnival continued.

Tokyo DisneySea Strips $2 Billion Rapunzel Attraction After Viral Bird Attack

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:19am

The window is dark and the golden hair is gone. Visitors drifting through the Tangled forest at Tokyo DisneySea this morning found the centerpiece of the park’s newest land missing. Rapunzel has been hauled out of her tower, leaving a hole in the skyline of the $2 billion Fantasy Springs expansion.

What brought down Rapunzel was a pair of neighborhood crows with an eye for high-end nesting material, not a mechanical glitch.

The trouble started earlier this week when guests filmed a scene that looked less like a fairy tale and more like a nature documentary gone wrong. A couple of local crows landed on the tower’s ledge and began systematically ripping chunks of hair out of the animatronic’s head.

The birds were brutal. They didn't care about the singing or the expensive engineering, they wanted that fiber for their nests. While the figure swayed and performed its programmed sequence, the crows tugged and tore at the scalp, leaving the Princess looking ragged and definitely not camera-ready.

After the video went viral, the park had seen enough. New footage from the ground shows the tower window completely empty. Disney didn't tuck the hair away; they yanked the entire figure.

View this post on Instagram

The Lantern Festival boat ride is the crown jewel of the park's new expansion, but right now, the climax of the trip is a bit of a letdown. Visitors float toward the tower expecting the big reveal, only to find the shutters open to a vacant room.

It’s unknown how long Rapunzel will be out of commission. Replacing seventy feet of animatronic-grade hair isn't a quick fix. Technicians have to re-thread the fibers and ensure the crows can't treat the tower like a local hardware store again.

Tokyo’s crows are famously smart and aggressive. They’ve spent years outsmarting city planners and trash collectors, and it seems they’ve finally found a way to bridge the gap into Fantasy Springs. Disney has to figure out how to keep the birds off the ledge without ruining the look of the 17th-century masonry.

For now, the ride stays open. The music still plays, and the lanterns still glow over the water. But the girl in the window is MIA, proving that even a billion-dollar budget can’t always hold its own against a few birds looking for a place to sleep. If you're heading to the park to see the hidden princess, you'll find she’s actually tucked away this time.

KATSEYE Star Addresses Temporary Hiatus After Grammy Nomination

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:19am

Manon, one of the Grammy-nominated stars of KATSEYE, spoke out after her abrupt hiatus announcement last month, addressing fans via Weverse DMs.

The singer began by assuring fans of her well-being. "I’m healthy, I’m okay, and I’m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture,” said Manon.

Despite growing rumors that her departure was due to friction within the group or with the label, Manon revealed she is still in contact and is having "positive conversations" with her management, HYBE and Geffen Records.

"HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she added.

The rising pop group announced Manon's temporary departure on February 20, just weeks after they performed at the 68th annual Grammy Awards, where they were nominated for Best New Artist. The official statement followed rising fan suspicion after Manon was omitted from several promotional materials.

The message revealed the decision stemmed from mental health considerations, with KATSEYE members assuring fans they will continue to support one another through the next phases.

"After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,” the notice read. “We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right. Thank you to our EYEKONS for your continued love, patience, and understanding.”

As of Friday, no additional comments from remaining KATSEYE members have been made.

Bobby Flay & Brooke Williamson to Face Off on 'BBQ Brawl' Season 7

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:14am

A major shakeup is coming to BBQ Brawl—and it’s tied to a real-life relationship that’s changing the dynamic of the show.

Food Network has officially announced that Brooke Williamsonwill no longer serve as a judge in season 7 of BBQ Brawl. Instead, she’s stepping into a brand-new role as a team captain—where she’ll go head-to-head with none other than Bobby Flay.

The shift comes after Williamson and Flay went public with their relationship in March 2025, creating an obvious conflict when it comes to judging. As Flay told People, "Brooke has been a judge since almost the beginning, the second season, and she's always wanted to be one of the mentors and cook on the show, and there was never sort of an opportunity for that

"But now, our rule between us is that we can't judge each other, because how can we judge each other? We can compete against each other in kind of friendly ways. She's becoming one of the captains on BBQ Brawl, so I have to actually compete against her. And she, as you might imagine, is very competitive, so she's tough to beat.”

Season 7 will feature three captains—Flay, Williamson and Maneet Chauhan—leading teams of pitmasters through a nine-episode culinary showdown at Star Hill Ranch in Austin, Texas.

Meanwhile, the judging panel is getting a refresh. Carson Kressley returns, joined by Adrienne Cheatham and season 3 winner Rashad Jones.

The season kicks off with a twist introduced last year: the winner of the first challenge earns the power to choose their team captain, flipping the usual dynamic and forcing the captains to fight for top talent.

From there, 12 pitmasters will battle it out week after week, with eliminations narrowing the field down to three finalists. In the finale, they’ll face an intense, ingredient-packed gauntlet for the title of “Master of ‘Cue.”

This Oscar-Nominated Drama Film Ranked No. 1 'Best Movie of 1999'

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 10:12am

When it comes to films, 1999 was a considerably good year with the release of a multitude of future cult classics across various genres. Among a long list of worthy contenders, there's one movie that was tagged as being the best release of the year and starred an impressive ensemble cast.

Rolling Stone's list of the 'Best Movies of 1999' includes some no-brainers likeKeanu Reeves' blockbuster hit The Matrix and the quirky yet bizarre comedy Being John Malkovich. The Top 5 also includes The Insider starring Al Pacinoand Sofia Coppola's debut feature, The Virgin Suicides.

Taking the No. 1 spot is the American drama film, Magnolia, by Paul Thomas Anderson. It has an impressive ensemble cast starring Jeremy Blackman, Tom Cruise, Melinda Dillon, Philip Baker Hall, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ricky Jay, William H. Macy, Alfred Molina, Julianne Moore, John C. Reilly, and Melora Walters. Legendary actor Jason Nelson Robards Jr. also starred in the film as his last role before his death in December 2000.

Magnolia interconnects the lives of multiple characters over the course of a single day in the San Fernando Valley. Their storylines deal with regret, loneliness, and the search for forgiveness, as the characters' stories collide in unexpected ways. It all leads to an unforgettable and surreal ending climax.

Related: 1993 No. 1 Hit Ranked as a ‘Classic Rock Song’ That Had Fans Laughing

"It was gloriously messy, magnificently obsessive and excessive, and wore its emotions not just on its sleeve but its whole jacket. His attempt to weave disparate threads into a tapestry depicting society having a collective nervous breakdown — asked by the studio head about balancing six storylines, Anderson corrected him by saying, 'I’m trying to make one story' — was still expansive enough to encompass love, death, loneliness, trauma, addiction, forgiveness, magical realism, game shows, and toxic masculinity before it had a name," said Rolling Stone.

The film was also inspired by the music of '80s pop icon Aimee Mann, who also contributed songs for the main soundtrack. Her song, "Save Me," ended up being nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song and a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal. Magnolia was a moderate box office success, having made $48.4 million against its $37 million budget. It was a success among critics and led Cruise to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and he later won a Golden Globe.

‘Happy Days’ Star Says DWTS Isn’t Happening 50 Years After Iconic Classic TV Episode: ‘No Dancing, Thank You’

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:59am

Henry Winkler just made it clear: he has no interest in competing on Dancing With the Stars. The Happy Days legend made the comment in a funny social media exchange with pal William Shatner in April 2026.

On April 2, Winkler, 80, reposted a clip from the 1976 Happy Days episode “They Shoot Fonzies, Don’t They?" In the episode, his character Fonzie competes in a dance marathon—after pushing his broken motorcycle 12 miles to make it to the event. In the end, the magical Fonz gets a burst of energy to prevent a snooty opponent (Charlene Tilton) from beating him and partner, Joanie Cunningham (Erin Moran).

Hours after his repost, Winkler playfully commented on a photo Shatner posted of himself on X, with, “Is it BILL or SUPERMAN???'

Shatner replied to note that he had seen the post of the Happy Days scene in which Winkler showed off his dance moves 50 years ago. “Henry! Speaking of Superman, I saw your repost of the Fonzie dance. I’m sure you can still do that,” Shatner wrote. “You want me to see if they have an opening on Dancing With The Stars next season?🤔🤷🏼😉🤣 .”

It didn’t take Winkler long to reply, “Love to you but NO dancing thank you.”

RELATED: ‘Happy Days’ Guest Star’s 1978 Debut Changed Everything

Shatner definitely has some Dancing with the Stars connections. The Star Trek legend is close friends with former show host Tom Bergeron, for starters.

And at age 80, Winkler wouldn’t be the first octogenarian to compete on Dancing With the Stars, should he change his mind. Past contestants have included astronaut Buzz Aldrin, then 80, and late actress Cloris Leachman, who was 82 at the time she competed on the celebrity ballroom show.

None of the core Happy Days cast members, such as Ron Howard, Marion Ross, Anson Williams, or Don Most, has competed on DWTS. In 2008, later cast member Ted McGinley was a contestant on the ABC dance-off.

In 2011, Winkler told The Hollywood Reporterthat he enjoyed watching Dancing With the Stars, with an emphasis on “watching."

Never," he replied when asked if he’d ever compete on the show. “Not with someone else’s legs. I watch it. I enjoy it.”

The TV legend then admitted there would perhaps be one way to get him to do Dancing with the Stars. “I would do it if Ron [Howard] was my partner,” the Happy Days star joked. “He’s like my younger brother.”

There's an 'Allergy-Like' COVID Symptom Spreading This Season

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:50am

COVID-19 often peaks in the fall and winter when life moves into closed, indoor spaces. Yet the virus doesn't ever go away completely—it's possible to catch it any time of year. For this reason, it's crucial to know not only the differences between COVID, cold and flu symptoms, but also between COVID and allergies. Allergy season generally peaks twice annually, in the fall and the spring, and there's an overlap between signs of COVID and allergy flares.

And, don't get doctors wrong: COVID is generally less scary than it was in the spring of 2020, thanks in large part to vaccines. But distinguishing it from allergy symptoms is still crucial.

"Current versions of COVID are more likely to be similar to a cold or an upper respiratory infection," reports Dr. Libbat-Tzion Shaham, MD, a board-certified family physician with Medical Offices of Manhattan and a contributor to LabFinder.com. "But it's important to remember that while often cases are mild, COVID still has the potential to cause severe, life-threatening...and debilitating conditions."

Of course, allergies aren't fun, either. Therefore, understanding precisely what's triggering your symptoms can ensure you get the best and quickest care possible.

"COVID…flu, allergies or even the common cold [have] different treatment strategies, so it’s important to distinguish them from each other," states Dr. Natasha Bhuyan, MD, a family physician.

Also, keep in mind that COVID-19 remains a public health concern. Even if you're not in a high-risk population, others around you may be.

"Early recognition also helps protect vulnerable people around you, like older adults and people with chronic illness, by reducing the chance you transmit the virus before you know you have it," says Dr. Raj Dasgupta, MD, the chief medical advisor for Sleepopolis.

For these reasons, doctors are raising awareness that this "allergy-like" COVID-19 symptoms are spreading this season. Here's what you need to know.

The ‘Allergy-Like’ COVID Symptom Spreading This Season

Doctors say people are mistaking runny noses for allergies when they actually have COVID-19. It turns out, the telltale cough and scratchy throat aren't all there is to COVID. "A runny nose is a common symptom of COVID," states Dr. Michael Dosik, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician with Medical Offices of Manhattan and a LabFinder.com contributor.

He explains that COVID can trigger inflammation in your airways, leading to increased mucus production and a runny nose. "A runny nose usually happens a few days into the COVID infection," Dr. Bhuyan adds. "It’s not always the first symptom."

A runny nose may be one of the first things you notice if you're having an allergy flare-up, too. "Allergies happen when your immune system reacts to an otherwise harmless substance," Dr. Dasgupta states. "This releases chemicals such as histamine, which cause blood vessels in your nasal tissues to dilate and the glands to produce more mucus. The mucus and swelling are what make the nose run and feel congested during allergy flare-ups."

Related: Doctors Say This Common Habit During COVID Recovery Could Be Making You Sicker

How To Tell the Difference Between a COVID Runny Nose and Allergies

A COVID-19 infection and allergy flare can both involve a runny nose. However, doctors share it's possible to get an idea of what you might have based on other symptoms.

"With allergies, people often also have itchy eyes and sneezing," Dr. Bhuyan says. "The symptoms change throughout the day, with certain periods of the day worse than others. COVID might have more severe symptoms, including fever, cough, body aches and chills. The symptoms stay constant for several days."

Dr. Shaham shares that COVID also has some other distinct symptoms, including:

  • Rashes
  • Loss of taste/smell
  • Bad headaches
  • Numbness/tingling
  • Acute chest pain
  • Shortness of breath

Dr. Shaham shares that environmental allergies generally:

  • Last longer than COVID (like for a month during peak season)
  • Track with past patterns of possible seasonal or environmental allergies
  • Are worse when you are around the allergen (such as getting a runny nose while or right after going outside)
  • Don't include fever and flu-like symptoms

Still, the only real way to know whether or not you have COVID or allergies is to take the important step of getting tested.

"This can be done with a rapid test or a more accurate PCR test," Dr. Dosik says. "These tests are available at your local pharmacies and doctors’ offices."

Treatment for COVID vs. Allergies

Once you figure out whether it's COVID or allergies causing your runny nose, you can start to take steps toward feeling better.

"Allergy treatment often includes avoiding known triggers when possible," Dr. Dasgupta says. "Over-the-counter antihistamines, nasal steroid sprays and saline rinses can help reduce symptoms like sneezing, runny nose and itching. For persistent or severe allergies, prescription medications or allergy immunotherapy may be recommended by an allergist."

Dr. Dasgupta says that two of the best things you can do for yourself if you test positive for COVID are rest and stay hydrated.

"Your body needs the energy to fight the infection, and fluids help thin mucus," he says. "Monitor your symptoms and seek medical care if you start to have trouble breathing, persistent chest pain or if your oxygen saturation drops, because these can be signs of more serious illness."

Dr. Dasgupta adds it's important to isolate to prevent the spread of the virus, especially to higher-risk people. The good news is that you should start feeling better soon—maybe even in less than a week.

"For most people with mild illness, COVID symptoms last about 5 to 10 days, with the worst phase typically in the first few days," he says. "Some symptoms, such as fatigue or cough, can persist longer. A smaller percentage of people may develop post-acute symptoms that last weeks to months, which clinicians sometimes refer to as long COVID."

Your doctor can help you find help for long COVID should you have it.

New Costco Bakery Find Gives Classic Danish a Fun Twist

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:45am

If you’ve ever picked up a Danish from Costco’sbakery, you already know they deliver on both freshness and flavor. And at $11.99, they’re easy to add to your cart.

The only catch is choosing the flavors. And larger pastries can feel like a bit much, especially if you’re not shopping for a group.

That’s what makes this latest bakery find worth a closer look.

Costco is now offering an assortment of Danish Rolls, including cinnamon, pecan, cherry, cream cheese, and chocolate, giving you a mix of flavors in a more approachable size.

An April 2 TikTok from Sandra (@costcofinds_family) shows the assortment up close, with each flavor packed into a single container.

The video also highlights a few other great finds, including DiGiorno Supreme pizzas for $11.99 and Annie’s Neapolitan Bunny Cookies for $2.99, but the Danish rolls are the main focus here.

Instead of one oversized pastry, this setup makes it easier to share, sample different flavors, or spread them out over a few days with something new to try each morning. It also makes them more practical for families that don’t want to commit to just one or two options.

At $11.99, the price aligns with what shoppers expect from the bakery section, especially given the variety included. Having multiple flavors in one package means you can switch between something sweeter, like cherry or chocolate, and something richer, like cream cheese or pecan.

What Gives Danish Pastries Their Light, Flaky Texture

Danish pastries are made using laminated dough, which creates those light, flaky layers. That texture holds up without becoming too dense or overly soft, which is part of why bakery items like this stand out when they’re fresh.

Like many Costco bakery items, availability may vary by location, and newer items often roll out to different warehouses over time. If you don’t see these right away, they may still be making their way to your local store.

If you have been looking for a bakery option that offers variety without going overboard on portion size, this is one of those finds that fits nicely into a weekend routine or quick breakfast plan.

KFC Brings Back 'Legendary' Chicken Sandwich For the First Time Since 2013: 'I Used to Only Go There Just For This!'

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:34am

Everyone has their favorite fast food orders that seem to eventually phase out of existence.

Whether you're partial to Taco Bell's fan-favorite Quesarito or KFC's classic potato wedges, there's no shortage of standout snacks and other dining items that have since vanished from nationwide menus.

Fortunately, in the case of KFC, the iconic fast food chain has officially brought back their beloved Snackers sandwiches as part of their new Value Feast lineup, delighting dedicated chicken lovers across the country.

As fans of the brand might remember, the Snackers sandwiches can essentially be described as a miniaturized version of KFC's regular chicken sandwich. Featuring a mini brioche bun, a crispy tender, a thin layer of mayo and accompanying pickles, the sandwich was a mainstay at KFC up to 2013, when it was sadly removed from the restaurant's menu.

According to Allrecipes, KFC is once again bringing back their Snackers sandwiches for the first time in 13 years. Only this time around, the sandwich will be featured as part of KFC's Value Feast, which includes the following budget-friendly menu options:

  • $7 Box Feast: Includes one Snacker, 5-piece nuggets, fries and a medium drink.
  • $9 Box Feast: Includes two KFC Snackers, 5-piece nuggets, fries and a medium drink.
  • $11 Box Feast: Includes a Chicken Sandwich, two chicken tenders, fries and a medium drink.

Alternatively, you can always order the Snacker by itself for just $3 from KFC's menu. Of course, anyone looking for a little extra kick to their sandwich can customize their Snacker accordingly, such as by adding spicy mayo or coleslaw (or both if you're feeling extra adventurous).

If past reactions to the Snackers are any indication, KFC has once again knocked it out of the park with the return of the fan-favorite chicken sandwich.

"Omg the snackers were the best! That sauce thooo….," one fan said on Reddit.

"I used to only go there just for this," another user agreed. "Then they got rid of it and I didn’t go back but 1-2 times since then lol I love them."

'The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum' Confirmed to Officially Recast Viggo Mortensen's Character

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:33am

The Lord of the Rings fans have kept their hopes up on what will be the newest movie installment to the franchise, with The Hunt for Gollum. To their dismay, Andy Serkisconfirms original cast member Viggo Mortensen will not return to his fan-favorite role as Aragorn.

J.R.R. Tolkien's world will further expand with the movie taking place between The Hobbitand The Lord of the Rings. Its storyline is set to explore one of the franchise's beloved characters, Gollum, with Serkis not only as the creative mind behind the film, but also returning as his original character. The film will explore Aragorn's treacherous journey to find Gollum before Sauron does at the request of Gandalf.

By all accounts, not many fans see anyone but Mortensen playing his beloved on-screen character. In an interview with ScreenRant, Serkis confirmed they are recasting the role and are currently looking for the next Aragorn.

"I don't know what's out there at the moment, but I know there's a lot of speculation, but let's just say we are recasting the role and we are on the way to finding someone," he said.

Original star Elijah Woodhinted in an episode of Happy Sad Confused that Mortensen might not return. The actor neither confirmed nor denied the recasting, but admitted that following in the actor's footsteps won't be easy. Rumors circulated that Tuner star Leo Woodall was being eyed for the role, with no official news yet.

“Those are tough boots, man. That is tough. I can’t imagine. But that’s going to be great," he said.

When it comes to the rest of the original cast returning, Wood has kept his lips sealed, with Ian McKellen having already hinted that he would reprise his role as Gandalf. Both actors expressed a similar sentiment of wanting to play their Lord of the Rings characters for as long as possible. The series has also officially cast Kate Winslet in an undisclosed role, with Serkis promising the new side quest film will feel close to the original trilogy.

"So it will feel like a proper Middle-earth film, there's no question, but there is a much more internal psychological investigation into one of Tolkien's most complex characters, i.e. Gollum. So it's a very interesting mix, and I think it is a tightrope for sure," he said.

The crew behind The Lord of the Rings is also on board with the new installment, with Serkis sayinf its a "great marriage of a new story and an intimate story within the lore and world of Middle-earth that we all love."

How I Pack for a 7-Day Europe Trip With a Single Carry-On

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 9:10am

Once you start traveling with only a carry-on, you’ll never go back to your old, over-packing ways again. I’ve been traveling this way for close to decade, and find it to be useful in more ways than one. I don’t have to worry about checking my baggage at the airport, I don’t have any anxiety about losing my bag in transit, I can leave the airport as quickly as possible, and I don’t have to lug around a giant bag with me the whole time. For me, it’s a win in every single category.

Some people might think that packing with a carry-on only can be very restrictive, but I don’t view it that way. If you get strategic about what you pack, and plan your outfits ahead of time, you will see that you will have more than enough things available to you on your trip. I’ve been forced to pack extremely light a few times in my life: when I traveled for a year on a Broadway tour with just one suitcase, and when I lived onboard cruise ships. Both experiences truly taught me that less is more, and now, I travel light whenever possible.

I’m getting ready for a ton of trips this summer, so I thought I’d take you all through how I pack for a 7-day Europe trip. Let’s go!

View this post on Instagram Four Tops And Four Bottoms

Melissa Cabey

I like to keep it extremely simple when it comes to tops and bottoms. It can get very easy to feel like you want to throw in an extra t-shirt or tank top, or add another pair of shorts. However, if you pack four tops and four bottoms that all match each other, that actually adds up to 16 possible outfit combinations. On a 7-day trip, you don’t even need that many! This keeps your packing small but your options open.

I usually choose two pairs of shorts, a pair of jeans, and a pair of linen pants that can be worn day or night. Then, I choose a few tops that are simple and go with each bottom, but still provide variety in my outfits. At its core, this is a capsule wardrobe, and it's the perfect way to pack.

Choose Your Dresses Wisely

Melissa Cabey

Dresses for a European trip (particularly in the spring and summer) are an absolute must. I first start with choosing two extremely nice dresses, reserved for the nicest dinners of my trip. Since these two dresses will solely be used for this purpose, this is where you really get to shine with your style. Choose your absolute favorite items, something that you’ll be excited to wear, and it will feel extra special for the evenings that you put them on.

I then pick two to three sun dresses that will be perfect for exploring the cities, throwing on over a bathing suit, or can be dressed up as an option for the evening as well. The key here is to choose things that can be versatile, aren’t bulky, and match the style of your trip.

Don’t Go Crazy With Shoes

Melissa Cabey

My number one rule with packing shoes is that every single pair must match every single outfit that you are planning on packing. This makes it incredibly easy to mix and match things, create variety in your looks throughout the week, and not feel limited by what you can wear.

For a warm-climate Europe trip, I usually bring four pairs of shoes with me, but pack three pairs. The first pair is a pair of walking sneakers (I wear white) and I wear them on the plane. This way, the bulky shoes don’t take up room in my carry-on. Then, I choose three shoes for other parts of the trip. One pair of heels for my dressier going-out moments, a pair of sandals for the beach and walking around, and a pair of ballet flats for when I want to look nice but don’t want to wear heels. All of these items are nude-colored, so they match every single item that I am bringing with me.

Liquid Toiletries Are A Thing Of The Past

My toiletry bag is extremely small, and that is thanks to bars of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I have fully transitioned away from liquid soap products. They cause less waste overall for the environment, last a long time so they are cost effective, and they’re great for travel. These little bars save so much space, and they also don’t limit me for airport security’s rules on liquids.

Beyond that, I just pack a razor, toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, a wax hair stick in lui of hairspray, and deodorant. All of this can fit in a small toiletry bag, and it’s easy to squeeze in small spaces in my carry-on. I pack a small bag of makeup separately, and those also don’t take up much room in my carry-on.

The Remaining Items

Melissa Cabey

I always keep underwear, socks, and bathing suits in a packing cube together. For a trip like this, I try not to overdo it with bathing suits, either. I choose two to three suits and call it a day. Then, I throw in a pair of pajamas that will last me for the week. Finally, I pack any electronic items I’ll need (like my laptop, chargers, a camera, etc).

If you have extra room in your carry-on: STOP! That is a great thing. You’re going to want a little bit of room for souvenirs, aren’t you? This is another reason why carry-on packing can be a great thing. It doesn’t give you a ton of extra room to the point where you will buy way too many things on your trip. Instead, it gives you a little bit of space (if you follow my tips) so you can be selective with your souvenir buying, and that way you will only end up with items that are special and useful to you.

Some Final Tips
  • The "Heavy" Rule: Always wear your heaviest items on the plane. This usually means your walking sneakers, your jeans and a light jacket or sweater. Not only does it save massive space in the bag, but European flights (and trains!) can get surprisingly chilly.
  • The Laundry Hack: Since you’re sticking to a tight 4x4 capsule, throw a few sink-wash detergent packets in your bag. If you spill gelato on your favorite linen pants on Day 2, you can do a quick sink-wash and they'll be dry and ready by Day 4.
  • The "Flat" Layer: Pack your flat items (like those ballet flats and your laptop) last, sliding them into the outer pockets or right on top. It keeps the structure of the bag balanced so it doesn't tip over when you're racing to catch a train.
  • The Digital Backup: Before you zip up, take a quick photo of your open suitcase. If you are forced to gate-check at the last minute due to a full flight, you have a digital record of exactly what was inside for insurance purposes.

Dr. Pepper Brings Back Creamy Coconut Flavor – But It's Only Available For a Limited Time

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 8:42am

There's nothing quite like kicking back and enjoying a freshly opened can of Dr. Pepper, especially in the middle of summer when the heat is high, the pool water is warm and the relaxing vibes are just right.

As delicious as Dr. Pepper's regular soft drinks are in and of themselves, the iconic soda brand has occasionally released more seasonal beverages that perfectly tie into spring and summer.

Case in point with the upcoming return of Dr. Pepper's limited-time flavor, Creamy Coconut, following its incredibly popular run in both 2024 and 2025.

As dedicated fans of the soda might remember, Dr. Pepper first released its Creamy Coconut flavor back in May 2024 as a limited-edition summer offering. Following its instant popularity among mainstream shoppers, the brand decided to bring the flavor back for a similarly limited run last summer.

An inventive twist on the ever-popular "dirty soda" trend that has taken social media by storm, Dr. Pepper's Creamy Coconut combines all 23 original flavors of Dr. Pepper into one unforgettable combination, paving the way to a tropical drink unlike any other.

As with years past, the new drink is available in both standard and Zero Sugar options, arriving this coming April among nationwide grocery suppliers.

"Consumers want beverages that fit every need throughout their day, and our 2026 lineup does exactly that while offering even more ways to enjoy the brands they love," said Katie Webb, VP of Innovation at Keurig Dr Pepper, in a previous press release.

"Our State of Beverages 2025 Trend Report uncovered that 44% of Americans, and an impressive 72% of Gen Z, try new beverages each month, underscoring the tremendous opportunity for flavor exploration and fan‑driven innovation," Webb continued. "In fact, Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut was inspired by viral social media trends and its comeback is powered by pure consumer love – when fans rally this hard for a flavor, we listen."

Dave Ramsey's 'Sage Advice' Has People Calling Him a Giant Hypocrite

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 8:40am

Financial guru Dave Ramsey is known for doling out budgeting advice to his adoring fans through his books and YouTube show. And while many of his followers hang on his every word, often tweaking their saving and spending habits in response to what the 65-year-old says, Ramsey's latest advice is garnering some backlash.

That's because people are calling Ramsey out for his comments about the "human spirit" and our insatiable need to gather more things. But, instead of agreeing with the sentiment, many of Ramsey's followers are calling him out for doing the exact opposite of what he advises others to do. Here's what people are saying.

Dave Ramsey Posted About the 'Human Spirit' on Facebook

The notoriously money-minded Ramsey took to Facebook on April 2 to share his thoughts on modern consumerism with his followers. "The human spirit was not created to attain peace, contentment, or fulfillment by gathering more stuff," he wrote in the post.

Ramsey has been a very vocal critic of how many Americans use their money, chiding them for spending more than they save and pointing out that it's next to impossible to get ahead financially without being intentional about their finances. While this post aligns with Ramsey's typical insights on spending, many of his followers were frustrated by what he had to say.

People Call Dave Ramsey Out Over Hypocritical Facebook Post

People were quick to share their thoughts about Ramsey's insights, with one person asking for an example of what would happen when we stopped the chase, writing, "So if more stuff doesn’t bring real peace…why do we keep chasing it like it will? What’s one thing you stopped buying that actually made you feel freer?"

Then there were others who questioned Ramsey's own pursuit of "stuff," asking how he could make those comments when he himself is guilty of the same bad choices he chided others for. "Says the man who had gathered a lot of stuff," one person wrote.

"Says the guy with a car collection," another joked.

Some People Agree With Dave Ramsey's Latest Thoughts

Of course, there are those who are totally on board with Ramsey's post and say that they already follow this philosophy. "Live small so you can give back large," one person wrote.

"Totally agree, got rid of all the stuff that wasn't essential, currently traveling the country in my truck and camper, and couldn't be happier," another follower added. "My kids will be happy I don't have a house full of unwanted collectibles and unnecessary things when I pass. If and when I choose to settle in one place, I won't have anything but what is necessary to live."

While it's clear that there are many different schools of thought on this, Ramsey isn't wrong. According to a 2023 report on Yahoo! Finance, Americans were spending around $18,000 a year on nonessentials. A lot of it is likely that "stuff" that Ramsey was talking about in his post. And for a man whose insights often include making your excess money work for you by putting it into high-yield savings or setting it aside to build an emergency fund, this likely seems like a massive waste of what could be a life-changing investment into your future.

‘Blue Lagoon’ Star Christopher Atkins Is Ruggedly Handsome at 65 Without That Curly Blonde Hair

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 8:38am

Christopher Atkins skyrocketed to fame in the 1980 film The Blue Lagoon, but he's just as handsome without his head full of blonde curls these days.

The former teen heartthrob, 65, starred alongside Brooke Shields in the movie about two teens who were marooned on a tropical island as children, and then grew up and fell in love. Atkins later appeared on the legendary TV show Dallas. While his curls have flown the coop, Atkins is still as blonde as ever. The handsome actor shared a new photo this week from his trip to Pittwater, Australia, and showed off those ruggedly handsome good looks that America knows and loves him for.

Atkins Appeared in Playgirl

Atkins isn’t one to shy away from the camera these days either. He was featured in Playgirl‘s July 2025 issue, Parade previously reported.

Atkins loves to explore the outdoors and frequently shares photos from his travels. Back in January, he shared a black-and-white photo from a hike in Switzerland. In a unique twist, he still went on the hike despite having surgery soon after.

"Simply beautiful hike through the snow and frozen waterfalls!" Atkins shared.

A couple of years back, Atkins joined Shields on her Now What? podcast and talked about how a movie like Blue Lagoon, which had extensive nudity, “wouldn’t be allowed” to be made these days.

“You were right next to me, and that was even stranger because you were only 14 at the time,” Atkins said, Entertainment Weekly reported. “There were scenes that I was butt-naked with you, if you remember, sliding down that slide and things like that. And that was a little awkward, but it was kind of funny for me because, at this point, I just did it. But your reaction was, ‘Ugh, oh God.’”

“I was like, ‘Oh God, why do I have to look at this?’” Shields recalled. “‘I’ve never seen one of those before, and I’m not going to start now!’”

Best-Selling Author’s Novels Ranked ‘Best Series’ on Goodreads

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 8:30am

From the blockbuster movies it inspired to the theme parks set in its universe, there’s no question that the Harry Potter book series has been a global sensation since its first book debuted in 1997.

Telling the story of a wizard boy who is destined to face off against the evil Lord Voldemort time and time again, but who also experiences the typical growing pains pre-teens and adolescents deal with, like bullies and first loves, the Harry Potter series is beloved by children and adults alike. In fact, it’s so popular that it topped the list of “Best Series” on Goodreads.

When readers were asked to name their favorite series on the popular social network for bibliophiles, the Harry Potter series received a score of over 345,000, over twice as high as the second-highest book series on the list, Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Whether it’s the rich magical world that Harry Potter is set in, with the protagonist learning how to cast spells and brew potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Scottish Highlands, or maybe it is that fans love the rotating cast of goblins, werewolves, and magical creatures that are peppered throughout the series, the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, has an average 4.47 out of five stars on Goodreads with over 11.5 million ratings.

The other six books in the series have similar ratings, with the final book in the seven-part series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, getting the highest average rating of 4.62 out of five stars.
