Challenging Weather Threatens Easter Weekend Travel Plans— Especially in These Popular Areas
Traveling over Easter weekend is always busy, but this year, the weather could make things even more complicated. From airport delays to hazardous driving conditions, travelers across the U.S. should prepare for disruptions, especially in key regions where storms are expected to hit hardest.

A Perfect Storm for Travel TroubleEaster weekend falls right in the middle of peak spring travel season, with millions of Americans already on the move. Add in volatile April weather patterns, and you’ve got a recipe for delays across multiple forms of transportation.
Recent storm systems have already caused major disruptions, with thousands of flights canceled and delayed due to severe weather across the eastern U.S. Even after storms pass, the ripple effect can linger for days, delaying travelers far beyond the original weather zone.
Biggest Problem Areas for Air TravelIf you’re flying this Easter, the eastern half of the U.S. is where you’ll want to pay the closest attention.
For example:
- Airports in the Southeast (like Atlanta and Orlando) have already seen cancellations tied to thunderstorms and heavy travel demand
- Mid-Atlantic and Northeast hubs often experience delays when storm systems move up the coast
- Florida airports are dealing with a mix of weather disruptions and heavy holiday traffic
The key issue isn’t just cancellations, it’s the domino effect. When flights are delayed early in the day, it can snowball into widespread disruptions by evening.

Driving Could Be Just as ChallengingIf you’re hitting the road instead of the airport, conditions may not be much easier, especially in certain regions.
Storm systems moving across the central U.S. into the Midwest and East are expected to bring:
- Heavy rain and thunderstorms
- Strong winds
- Possible localized flooding
Areas like Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas could see the worst conditions Friday into Saturday, with storms potentially making highways dangerous and reducing visibility.
Meanwhile, parts of the Northeast and New England may deal with rain and a sharp temperature drop by Easter Sunday, which could create slick roads and less-than-ideal driving conditions.
Even if you avoid severe storms, wet roads, and heavy holiday traffic can significantly slow travel times.
When Travel Will Be WorstTiming your trip could make a big difference this weekend.
- Friday (Good Friday): One of the busiest travel days, with storms beginning to develop in parts of the U.S.
- Saturday: Peak weather impact in many regions, especially central and eastern states
- Sunday (Easter): Lingering rain and cooler temperatures in the Northeast
If possible, traveling earlier in the week or very early in the day can help you avoid both crowds and the worst weather.

What Travelers Should Do NowWith both weather and crowds working against you, preparation is key.
- Check your flight status frequently: Airlines often issue travel waivers during major weather events, allowing you to change flights without fees.
- Arrive at the airport early: Security lines can be long during peak travel periods, and delays only add to congestion. Some travelers have faced wait times of over two hours during recent disruptions.
- Have a backup plan: If your flight is canceled, know alternative routes or even nearby airports. Being proactive can save hours of frustration.
- Monitor road conditions: If driving, check weather apps and traffic updates regularly, especially if traveling through storm-prone regions.
- Stay flexible: Sometimes the best move is adjusting your plans altogether. Leaving earlier, delaying your return, or rerouting your trip can make a huge difference.
Easter weekend travel in 2026 is shaping up to be a mix of heavy crowds and challenging weather, especially across the central and eastern United States. From flight delays in major airport hubs to stormy driving conditions in key regions, travelers should expect disruptions and plan accordingly.
73 Years Ago Today, Lucille Ball and Baby Desi Arnaz Jr. Made History With Iconic Magazine Cover
On April 3, 1953, history was made with the publication of the very first issue of TV Guide. And the iconic television programming magazine went big with its first cover.
Founded by Walter Annenberg, TV Guide’s 1953 launch featured one of the most famous babies of the time—Desiderio Alberto Arnaz IV—in his first published photo, with a small insert of his famous mom, Lucille Ball, at the top. The cover was captioned “Lucy’s $50,000,000 Baby.” The fifteen-cent magazine featured program listings for April 3-9 in addition to the photo of the tot who wasn’t even a TV star.
Julien’s Auctions credited the famous cover for the magazine’s success from the jump. “That first cover, featuring Lucille Ball – arguably television's first megastar – and her son, cemented its place not just as a utility, but as a chronicler of American popular culture,” the post from the auction site stated.
Following the iconic launch, TV Guide became a weekly staple for more than 20 million American households and earned more than $3 billion dollars over the years, according to The Deseret Sun.

The cover caused confusion for Baby DesiIn a 60th anniversary retrospective about the famous cover, TV Guide noted that the photo of Ball and husband Desi Arnaz’s “chubby-cheeked newborn” helped make son Desi Arnaz Jr.’s life “confusing.”
"Because that cover was so widely seen, everyone thought I played Little Ricky, and that's stuck with me throughout my life," Arnaz Jr. explained to the outlet.
Throughout his life, Arnaz Jr. was confused for I Love Lucy character Little Ricky Ricardo, who was played by a series of infants before child actor and drummer Keith Thibodeaux took over the role.
The confusion came, in part, due to the fact that the Arnazes’ real-life son was born on the same day that Little Ricky was born on I Love Lucy. The highly rated January 19, 1953, episode, “Lucy Goes to the Hospital,” aired on CBS as the beloved sitcom star underwent a cesarean section at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles.
In an interview with The New York Post, Thibodeaux, now 75, recalled going on public outings with the Arnaz family and being mistaken for their real-life son. “We’d go to Disneyland and of course go to the front of the line with Lucy and people would look at Lucy and say, ‘Wow, there’s Lucy and Little Ricky!’ People always confused me and Desi Jr.," he said.
Thibodeaux also revealed that he “grew up” with Arnaz Jr. and became good friends with him. “There was always that dynamic of people getting us mixed up,” he said in the 2025 documentary TV We Love. “I think in [Desi Jr.’s] mind, it was very hard. He wanted to do what I did.”
Arnaz Jr. wasn’t a child star, but he later co-starred on Ball’s 1970s sitcom here’s Here’s Lucy, where he played her son Craig Carter in 67 episodes.

Desi Jr. joked about his famous magazine coverAs for that TV Guide headline that described Arnaz Jr. as a $50 million baby, the magazine explained that the child's birth unleashed “an avalanche” of merchandising that included dolls, records, books, maternity wear, and nursery sets.
As an adult, Arnaz Jr. said of the cover line, "A $50 million baby? Really? Not only does that sound like some kind of sci-fi show, I can't imagine anyone thought I was worth that much. It's a lot of money, especially in 1953!"
He also joked that he was the “innocent victim in a massive publicity stunt,” but noted that he embraced it all. "I wouldn't trade any of it — not even the confusion — because it's all been a blessing,” Arnaz Jr. said.

United Just Launched a First-of-Its-Kind TSA Tracker
If you’ve ever stood in a standstill security line wondering if you’re actually going to make your boarding group, United Airlines just dropped a digital lifesaver. Starting today, April 2, 2026, United is rolling out a real-time TSA Wait Time Tracker directly inside its mobile app, making it the first major U.S. airline to give travelers this kind of granular, live data.
The goal is to strip away the "airport anxiety" that comes with the unknown. Instead of guessing how early you need to leave for the airport, United customers can now see live estimates for both standard security and TSA PreCheck lanes. This isn't just a general airport average, either—the tracker focuses specifically on the checkpoints United flyers are most likely to use at the airline’s major U.S. hubs.
Related: United is Turning Economy Seats Into a Bed and We’re Obsessed
The pilot program is currently live for travelers moving through:
- Chicago (ORD)
- Denver (DIA)
- Houston (IAH)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- New York/Newark (EWR)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Washington D.C. (IAD)
“Our customers rely on our mobile app for all their travel needs, and this new feature lets them know what to expect and better plan their trip,” says Jason Birnbaum, United’s Chief Information Officer. The move comes at a particularly savvy time; while most TSA agents have begun receiving back pay following the recent Department of Homeland Security shutdown, the ripple effects on staffing and line lengths are still being felt across the country.

Pro-Tip for Your Next FlightTo find the new feature, just head to the Travel section of the United app on the day of your flight. While the estimates are based on United’s internal data and real-time sensors, remember that "airport math" is still an art, not a science. Even if the app shows a green light, I always recommend giving yourself that extra 20-minute buffer—especially during the current spring break surge.
This tracker joins a suite of recent tech upgrades from the airline, including the "Virtual Gate" for boarding updates and the integrated Apple AirTag tracking that helps United’s customer service team locate your bags if they go rogue. If you haven’t updated your app in a while, today is the day to do it before you head to the terminal.

The Unexpected European City That Just Stole the Sin City Crown: Why Vegas is Losing the Bet
The neon flicker of the Las Vegas Strip is starting to look a little dim, at least to the bank accounts of savvy travelers. As the cost of a weekend in Nevada reaches record highs, a migration is underway. According to a provocative April 2026 report from gaming studio Galaxsys, the world’s nightlife epicenter has crossed the Atlantic.
Travelers are looking to escape $25 cocktails and the resort fees. The data shows that European capitals are now outperforming high-cost American hubs by offering a trip to the casino at a fraction of the price. The Vegas experience hasn't disappeared; it has moved to places where the bankroll lasts until morning.
The Belgian Upset: Brussels Takes the JackpotWhile most people think of Belgium for its chocolate, Brussels is hub of after-dark adrenaline. Scoring a near-perfect 99 out of 100 in the study, Brussels has been named the best alternative to traditional gambling capitals.
The numbers are hard to ignore: the city boasts 18 casinos and gambling venues, supported by a dense network of 45 bars and pubs per 10 square kilometers. But it’s the affordability that’s the kicker. While some complain that a night out in Vegas can feel like a financial shakedown, Brussels offers dinner for roughly $23 and cocktails for about $6.40. With 253 hotels and over 150 shopping venues, it’s a playground that doesn’t demand a second mortgage to enjoy.
Cheap Drinks and Coastal Chaos in Barcelona and PortoFor those chasing a high-energy scene without the desert heat, the Iberian Peninsula is calling. Barcelona sits in the top three, leading the pack with 64 distinct nighttime activities. The real draw? The $4.65 drink. It’s a price point that makes the transition from a seaside dinner to one of the city's seven major casinos almost too easy.
Further south in Portugal, Porto is proving that "budget" doesn't mean "boring." "Exceptional dining and affordable beverages make Porto, Portugal, the best choice for travelers seeking a high-energy, late-night scene on a budget," the report notes.
In Porto, dinner will set you back $12.22, and drinks average $3.49. For the player who wants their entire travel budget to end up on the gaming floor rather than the bar tab, Porto is a winner. It’s the kind of math that makes a flight to Europe look like a sound investment.
Safety First: The Dubrovnik DefenseFor many, the biggest gamble in a nightlife city isn't at the tables, it's the walk back to the hotel. Dubrovnik, Croatia, has solved that problem. Ranking fourth overall, the city is the safest destination on the list with a security index of 82.
It offers a "big night scene with a small-town vibe," catering to tourists with 10 casinos and an incredible 716 hotel options. It’s the sanctuary for those who want the thrill of the bet without the edge that usually comes with a late-night urban trek.
The New Map of NightlifeThe 2026 travel landscape is being rewritten by travelers who are tired of being priced out of fun. Whether it’s the casino density of Bucharest (which features 17 gambling venues) or the refined nightlife of Paris, the house may always win, but in Europe, the house lets you keep more of your money.
James Marsden’s Relationship History: Divorce and a New Age-Gap Romance
James Marsden isn’t the type of guy to “hard launch” a relationship. The Paradise actor waited two years before even making his first red carpet appearance with his current girlfriend, Dutch model Frederique Brons, at the 2025 Emmys — and still, he hasn’t publicly addressed their romance. They most recently attended the Season 2 premiere of Your Friends & Neighbors, which stars Marsden, in New York.
He did offer a rare glimpse into his dating philosophy back in 2015. “I find as I get older, I'm more traditional and old-fashioned,” he said. “I prefer face-to-face conversation as opposed to texting. You need to go out of your way to spend good time with one another… for a relationship to thrive, it's about making time for each other.” It tracks, then, that he’d be more focused on real-life connection than public displays of affection.
Keep reading to learn more about Marsden’s relationship history, including his 2011 divorce from ex-wife Lisa Linde and his current age-gap romance.
Is James Marsden currently in a relationship?Yes. He’s dating Dutch model Frederique Brons. The pair was first linked in October 2023, when they were photographed kissing in New York City. Although neither has publicly commented on their romance, they essentially confirmed it by showing up hand-in-hand to the 2025 Emmy Awards.

What does James Marsden’s girlfriend, Frederique Brons, do for a living?Brons is a full-time model who hails from Amsterdam and currently lives in New York. Judging from her Instagram account, she travels frequently for both work and pleasure, whether she’s on location in Marrakech or the Dolomites, or “beaching in March” on a trip to Spain.
What is James Marsden’s age gap with his current girlfriend, Frederique Brons?Brons’ birthday is not widely publicized, but she’s believed to be around 27 years old. Meanwhile, Marsden—born Sept. 18, 1973—is 52. That means he’s about 25 years her senior.
Who else has James Marsden dated? Before his romance with Brons, Marsden was linked to a handful of women following his divorce from actress Lisa Linde. He dated Rose Costa from 2011 to 2012; had a long-term relationship with British singer Edei (a.k.a. Emma Deigman) from 2015 to 2023; and was reportedly seeing model Kelsey Merritt shortly before he and Brons were first linked.
That said, Marsden has long kept his personal life under wraps, so the full picture of his dating history is blurry at best.

Who is James Marsden’s ex-wife?Marsden was married to former actress Lisa Linde, whose short list of credits includes Pacific Blue, Days of Our Lives and The Darkling. They started dating in the mid-’90s, when they were in their early 20s, and tied the knot in 2000, when Marsden was 26.
Why did James Marsden leave his wife?Speaking to Men’s Health in 2018, Marsden said he and Linde were “really young” when they started dating and simply drifted apart over the years. Although the split was apparently mutual, Linde was the one to file for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
“It’s sad and heartbreaking,” he told Men’s Health, looking back on the end of his marriage. “I was separating not only from my wife but also my kids and the bonds of home and family. Those are things you’re painfully reminded of every day. It’s like, s--t, what lesson is this? What’s to come from this?”
How long was James Marsden married? The Enchanted star was married to Linde for 11 years, from 2000 to 2011. “It was scary and sad and made me pull everything into focus," he told Men's Health of their divorce. "I needed to focus on what was important. So that’s who I am now because of that. I know regrets can be catalysts for good things.”
Does James Marsen have children?Yes. Marsden and his ex-wife share son Jack, 25, and daughter Mary, 20. He also has a 13-year-old son, William Luca, with ex-girlfriend Rose Costa, whom he dated for a brief period after his marriage ended.
Who is the mother of James Marsden’s third child?Marsden shares his youngest kid with Brazilian model Rose Costa. The pair had a brief romance after he split from his wife, and welcomed a child a year later.
“Of all my achievements in life, being a father is the one thing I’m most proud of,” Marsden has said. “It is the most fulfilling. I’m always self-deprecating, but I don’t have a problem saying that I am a great dad.”

‘Outlander’ Author Diana Gabaldon Explains Jamie's Life-Saving Deal — And Its One Major Catch
In the “Send for the Devil” episode of Outlander, it was nice to see that good deeds were rewarded, rather than punished.
Mr. Whittaker (Tomisin Ajani), the father of the twin babies that Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) helped birth in a previous episode, paid them back by coming to Jamie to warn him about a Machiavellian plan that Captain Charles Cunningham (Kieran Bew) had in the works. Whittaker overheard Cunningham plan to capture Jamie and take him to Captain Ferguson, a member of the King’s army, who would try him for treason and hang him, thus giving Cunningham control of Fraser’s Ridge.
Jamie concluded that the attempted kidnapping would take place following the Lodge meeting, and he came up with a countermeasure, part of which included making a deal with the devil, i.e., Cleveland (Turlough Convery), to keep that from happening and to keep Fraser’s Ridge under his control.
But did he have enough men on his side? Jamie had just taken a trip outside of the Ridge to try to recruit Patriots to his militia since there weren’t enough men on the Ridge. And will his deal with Cleveland mean he will have to fight at King's Mountain, where he is allegedly killed per Frank Randall's book?
“As per book, Jamie does have enough men still on his side—he’s the landlord and knows everyone who lives on his land, most of whom also know (and like) him, though some may be swayed toward Cunningham, either because of political beliefs, or doubt as to who might come out on top in a struggle (self-preservation being usually No. 1 when it comes to making this sort of decision),” Outlander creator and bestselling author Diana Gabaldon tells Parade.
Kieran Bew, Sam HeughanCourtesy: STARZ
“On the other hand, he can’t be sure how many men will follow Cunningham; most folk in those days wouldn’t share their political opinions outside their family and close friends. This is why the Masonic Lodge is important; Masons acknowledge a mutual loyalty, and the gathering [outside of the formal meeting] brings all the men in Lodge [nearly every male of age on the Ridge] into close contact with each other—things can be spread in a very short time. On the other hand, it also means that Cunningham is betraying the brotherhood of the Lodge, which presumably he would only do if he had a real belief in loyalty to the Crown.
Related: Outlander Author Diana Gabaldon Reveals the Truth Behind Fergus’ Shocking Twist (Exclusive)
“And yes, Jamie’s deal with Cleveland will take him to King's Mountain. (Thus adding to Jamie’s sense of impending doom).”
One reason that Cunningham has no doubt in moving ahead with his plan is his conviction that he won’t die for seven years, so he should come out of the conflict with no problem. His belief was from a message he had talked about previously at Lodge, saying it was told to him by his son, who died in battle. He seems to truly believe he got a message from the other side.
“Captain Cunningham does indeed believe it,” Gabaldon says. “As per book, Captain Cunningham was a sea captain. The show decided he should be an army man, presumably so they could play up his having fought for the British at the same time Jamie was fighting for the Americans, so, a natural animus.
“The thing is…Cunningham is a sea captain. A man who will take on the sea is a man who will take on anyone else, too. More importantly (for purposes of the book), a sea-captain is used to making his own decisions in the midst of chaos and danger—unlike an army commander who’s always within a day’s ride of Headquarters. (I laid out this description in an online group talking about this issue, and got a reply from a retired rear admiral, saying, "Unsurprisingly, I agree with you.")
Related:Outlander Author Diana Gabaldon Reveals the Dark Twist She Wishes the Show Didn’t Cut (Exclusive)
“But he’s also (in the book) described (by himself) as a “Blue Light” captain. A Blue Light captain would be an evangelical Christian, who insists that his crew abide by his principles, i.e., no grog, no swearing, etc. Ergo, we know (if we have been reading the book…) that Cunningham is a) very tough-minded and independent, and b) has a deep belief in Christianity, including a belief in the afterlife.
“So yes, when his son (apparently drowned) suddenly opens his eyes and tells his father that he’ll see him again in seven years—and then promptly closes his eyes and dies for good—he certainly believes it.
“And as Jamie says to Claire, ‘A man who believes he can't die is dangerous.’"

Another major story point in Episode 5, albeit one with a little foreshadowing, is when Bree (Sophie Skelton) said to William (Charles Vandervaart) that a lot of his friends were Patriots after they met Denzel Hunter (Joey Phillips) in the Patriots camp. William then saw his cousin Ben (Alex Bhat), who he thought was dead, but Ben was wearing a blue uniform.
Ben is the heir to the title Duke of Pardloe, but now he's a traitor to the crown. What does that mean for William? When he first saw his cousin, he hugged him, but then he punched him. Plus, William has had carnal knowledge of Ben's wife, Amaranthus (Carla Woodcock), in that same episode. Should he confess it? That didn't work out well for Lord John (David Berry).
Carla Woodcock, Charles VandervaartCourtesy: STARZ
Poor William. He just can't catch a break where women are concerned.
“Well, William has had relatively little experience with women,” Gabaldon explains. “He had sex (and something emotional going) with Jane [Silvia Presente], but then failed to save her from death, which would probably dampen anyone’s spirit for a bit…
Related: Outlander’s Caitríona Balfe Says Final Season Was Her Most Difficult Yet — Here’s Why (Exclusive)
“He has rapport with Rachel [Izzy Meikle-Small], but she’s a) in love with, and b) married to Ian [John Bell]. Fanny [Florrie May Wilkinson] has a crush on him, but she’s much too young for him to consider.
“As to his relations with Ben, he’s outraged: 1) Ben pretending to be dead, thus causing deep sorrow to his family, and 2) having done it to conceal the fact that he’s changed sides (which is even worse, to a more or less career soldier like William -- and Ben’s father and uncle).
“On the other hand, since Ben has (apparently) abandoned his family, what’s going to happen with Amaranthus (for whom William has a strong attraction, evidently reciprocated). So, he more or less has to go home and tell Lord John (at least) that Ben is alive, and -- not being without finer feelings -- doesn’t feel he should go on messing with Amaranthus (especially if she already knew about Ben’s not being dead—she does, in the book, but may really not, in the show). “So, if he has to tell Lord John, for reasons of conscience and family loyalty, I don’t think he can reasonably ask Lord John to NOT tell Amaranthus. (Assuming she didn’t know already, and in fact [per book], she does.)
Outlander will air new episodes each Friday at midnight ET on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms; and at 8 p.m. ET/PT/7 Central on the linear network.

The mom of two (daughter Stormi Webster is eight-years-old and son Aire Webster is four) got real, talking candidly about fame, living her life in front of cameras, work-life balance, and parenting.
Unlike other celebs, Jenner didn’t choose to live in the spotlight. As she points out, she was only one year older than her daughter, Stormi, was when she started filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
So, how does the lifelong reality TV star/entrepreneur manage her fame? She told Kid Cudi, “I don’t know if there’s a perfect recipe to that… I think that just protecting the things I feel need protection, or just like parts of my personality…I have my family, I have my kids that I go home to that I’m like love me so much and have no idea what’s going on in this world. They definitely keep me grounded.”
Kid Cudi went on to ask something we’re all thinking—how does someone like the Kylie Cosmetics founder juggle parenting and work? After all, running a multi-million dollar company and caring for two young kiddos can’t be easy. But Kylie seems to have work-life balance down.
While she did admit, “It’s definitely a lot,” the mom also gave some practical tips that work for her: “If I don’t wake myself up, they’re waking me up. I also like to be up 20 minutes before them…I want to have my coffee…Get a little dressed.” And if you’re wondering what Kylie’s go-to coffee order is for that all-important morning wake-up drink, she prefers a hot latte with oat milk and vanilla.
For years, fans watched superparents, Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner, raise Kylie. But now that she’s the mom, it’s her turn. When Kid Cudi asked about her parenting style, she admitted, “I didn’t think that I would be, but I’m the strict one…I have a good balance…I feel like my daughter, who’s a little bit older, she can definitely talk to me about anything, but she has this big personality. So I have to like keep her kind of in check… She will push her boundaries.”
Even though she’s the youngest Kardashian, big brother Rob comes to her for parenting advice. And what does strict mom Kylie have to say when the kiddos are clamoring for something special? “This is just my advice. I think every parent, like you, just knows their kid the best. But I was like you could still give her everything, but just like not right away. Say okay, if you have an amazing week at school. And then, like give it to her on Friday.”
And here’s what we all want to know…what did Kylie tell her daughter, Stormi, when she asked why their whole family is famous? Not an easy question to answer! Instead of watering down the explanation, Kylie chose to show the eight-year-old her reality show, telling her, “We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that’s why we’re all in this together, because we were all on the show together.”
Jenner went on to add that after Stormi left the room, “I was so emotional after. Like I don’t know what hit me, but I was like weeping in my bed. Like I don’t know why that happened to me. Maybe it’s my daughter being the same age I was. And just seeing like my family and I’m like, you know just feeling so grateful for all that we’ve built and mourning that closeness when we were all living under the same roof.”
’70s Icon Freddie Mercury's Move on Beloved Actress Receives Clear Response
Jane Seymour looked back on what she describes as one of the “greatest memories” of her life, which involved music legend Freddie Mercury.
The British-American actress is celebrated for her memorable roles in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and for being a Bond girl in the 1973 film Live and Let Die, where she played the character of Solitaire.
From her memorable on-screen roles to her award-winning recognition, one of the memories that the 75-year-old star could never forget was her encounter with the late frontman of Queen.
In a TikTok post, Seymour recounted the time when she “married” Freddie Mercury.
Although it wasn't an official walk down the aisle-type of ceremony, the duo took part in the mock wedding as part of the Fashion Aid charity event in London in November 1985.
At the time, the actress was dressed in a lavish wedding gown designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel.

“They decided I should be Freddie Mercury's bride,” she said, after the designers chose Seymour as their muse for the collection.
Recalling the experience, she shared that she was dressed in an “extraordinary gown” that she could barely walk in, had a “really huge” hairstyle and a wreath of flowers around her head, plus a huge bouquet that she “could barely carry.”
“I remember at one point I'm backstage and suddenly, I think I'm flanked by David Bowie, Boy George and Freddie Mercury,” she added. "I think they looked right through me, which was hard to do, considering the amount of hair and glamour they had put into it. I was, you have to understand, I was as bridal as you could ever get.”
At one point, the British actress also remembered how Freddie Mercury stole the spotlight with his signature flair on stage.
“Freddie's just prancing off doing Freddie Mercury and I'm supposed to be his bride," the Emmy-winning star shared.
As for her, she matched the late singer’s energy by “running behind like crazy” and as fast as she could, adding that she wore “this huge dress, with this headdress that's killing me, and the flowers I can barely carry, but with a smile on my face."

“And Freddie just suddenly turns into, like, the groom - and he kisses me! He kisses me. Right in front of everyone,” she reminisced, “And then he grabs my flowers, and he looks at the audience, and he throws them. This thing - if it hit somebody, it could seriously have hurt them.”
Seymour saw the experience as something incredibly special and unforgettable.
The fashion event was among the music legend’s philanthropic moments following the success of the Live Aid concert on July 13, 1985, where he stunned fans with a solid 21-minute set, singing the band’s timeless hits from "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Radio Ga Ga" and "We Are the Champions,” and more.
This was also cited as one of the greatest live rock performances in history, according to People.

1973 Hit Everyone Loved, But Few Realized Was by the Beach Boys
In 1973, The Beach Boys released a song that everyone loved, but few realized hailed from the hitmaking band.
"Sail On, Sailor" was included in the band's LP Holland. The group traveled to the Netherlands to record the LP after finding success there on the charts.
According to American Songwriter, the Beach Boys' record company, Warner Bros., didn't believe there was a single to promote Holland on the LP. Van Dyke Parks, Brian Wilson's writing partner during the Smile sessions, encouraged Wilson to write a song that they could use as a single.
Several years prior, Wilson had penned "Sail On, Sailor" alongside Ray Kennedy and Danny Hutton for Three Dog Night, who never recorded the song. Wilson retooled it alongside Tandyn Almer and Jack Rieley.

As reprinted by American Songwriter, Wilson wrote in the liner notes for Beach Boys Classics Selected by Brian Wilson, “Van Dyke really inspired this one. We worked on it originally, and then the other collaborators added some different lyrics."
"By the time the Beach Boys recorded it, the lyrics were all over the place. But I love how this song rocks.”

The song was first released in February 1973, peaking at just No. 79. Two years later, a rerelease saw it climb higher, and by May 1975, it reached No. 49 on the charts.
However, no one realized it was the iconic group upon first listen. That's because the lead singer on the song is Blondie Chaplin. "Sail On, Sailor" is one of the band's few well-known songs not sung by Mike Love, Brian Wilson, or Carl Wilson.
Richard E. Aaron/RedfernsAccording to fans discussing the track in a 2013 Steve Hoffman Music Forum, the song does echo the band's sound. However, upon first listen, many didn't make the connection.

"I was hearing this song in my head and was trying to remember who sang it...was going to add it to my smooth/yacht rock playlist. When Googling I kept seeing Beach Boys pop up but I just kept whizzing by convinced that it couldn't be them. I eventually clicked on it and couldn't believe it. I had no idea," one listener wrote.
"I remember being surprised it was the Beach Boys when it was first released. I had heard the song quite a bit and had no idea whose song it was," a second penned.
A third noted that "Sail On, Sailor" was "not your typical Beach Boys release. Love it."
Despite not being a massive hit at first, the song has endured over the years, becoming a beloved part of the Beach Boys’ legacy that still surprises fans today.

Nancy Guthrie Update: New Details on Suspect Situation Revealed by Law Enforcement Insider
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than eight weeks after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and a law enforcement insider just revealed new details on the suspect situation.
On Thursday, April 2, NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin spoke with someone with inside knowledge of the Pima County Sheriff's Department's investigation into Nancy's disappearance.
The insider—whose identity was protected for fear of retaliation—was an insider from the law enforcement community in Tucson. He offered new insight into whether investigators have named a suspect in the 84-year-old's case, but perhaps are just not publicly sharing that information.
“The people I’ve talked to that are still in the know on this investigation tell me that there’s no direct suspect right now," the source told Entin. "No name on the table.”
When asked if he thought it was shocking that no suspect has been named now that the investigation has passed the two-month mark, the insider began by calling out those leading the case.

“Not with how the investigation has gone so far," he bluntly stated. "I mean, you have individuals that are either lucky as hell or more cunning than a lot of people have seen in the past."
He continued, "If you take the first, extremely lucky, maybe his luck will run out, but so far it hasn’t. But if you take the second one, that he was extremely cunning, there’s a chance that he may have covered his tracks so well that we may not find out what happened.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Entin's anonymous source pointed out that the lead investigator in Nancy's investigation had never worked a homicide case before.
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. Despite a $1 million reward from Savannah, no one has come forward with information leading to her recovery.

'Daredevil' Was Planned as Movies Until One Key Problem Changed Everything
When Marvel's Daredevil returned in 2015, it carved out a darker, grittier corner of the superhero world that felt unlike anything else at the time.
What most viewers never knew is that this version of Daredevil was originally planned as a series of films. The reason that plan was scrapped comes down to one realization. Marvel discovered the story simply could not fit inside a movie.
Early development explored bringing Daredevil back as a two-film arc, designed to reintroduce Matt Murdock with a more serious tone. As the creative team dug deeper, they hit a fundamental problem. The character's world depended on slow-building tension, legal drama, and long-form character development. Compressing that into a two-hour runtime meant losing the very elements that made Daredevil compelling.
A film version would have forced the story into a traditional superhero format, pushing large-scale action to the front while burying the more personal conflicts at the heart of Matt Murdock's journey. Courtroom strategy, moral ambiguity, the gradual rise of Wilson Fisk / Kingpin as a credible villain, much of it would have been rushed or cut entirely. The version of Daredevil that made the character worth revisiting in the first place depended on the kind of storytelling that a film format couldn't sustain.
Marvel chose to completely change the format instead of rewriting the story.
The project moved to Netflix, where a serialized approach let the story unfold across multiple episodes. That decision gave Daredevil room to build, with characters evolving at a natural pace and tension building naturally rather than pushed by a runtime. Wilson Fisk became one of the most fully realized villains in the Marvel universe because the series took the time to build him from the ground up with his background, psychology, and capacity for both violence and vulnerability.

The first season earned widespread praise for its grounded tone and layered storytelling. The hallway fight sequence in Season 2 became one of the most discussed action scenes in superhero television due to its gritty realism. Critics and audiences recognized that the show was fully exploiting the complexity and street-level origins of the comic book source material.
That success opened the door for other Marvel Netflix series and helped establish a template for character-driven superhero storytelling that prioritized depth over scale.
With Daredevil: Born Again continuing that legacy, the significance of that early format decision is even clearer. A concept that started as a two-film pitch became one of Marvel's most influential television productions because the studio recognized what the material required before locking it into the wrong format.
Martha Stewart’s Favorite Luggage Brand Just Dropped a Sleek New Vintage Carry-On
If there's one thing Martha Stewart knows better than anyone, it’s how to travel with effortless, high-performance style. The lifestyle icon has never been shy about her devotion to Rimowa, the German powerhouse behind those iconic aluminum grooved suitcases.
Whether she’s jetting off to the Winter Games in Italy or heading to a weekend at her farm in Bedford, Martha has consistently called the brand her "favorite" for its durability and "smooth-as-silk" wheels that glide over everything from airport tile to uneven cobblestones.
Related: Martha Stewart Just Revealed Her Chic Travel Routine
View this post on InstagramNow, the brand Martha put on the map for a new generation of travelers just dropped a limited-edition piece that feels like a total collector's item. The Rimowa Classic Aluminum Grid Cabin is a stunning, retro-inspired reimagining of an archival design from 1969. While we’ve long seen Martha sporting the classic silver grooves, this new version swaps the stripes for an embossed, geometric grid texture that gives the bag a structured, "conversation starter" vibe.
View this post on InstagramWhat makes us—and likely Martha—so obsessed? It’s the perfect marriage of vintage aesthetic and modern muscle. Each suitcase is individually numbered (from 0001 to 1969), making it feel more like a piece of art than a piece of luggage.
It features Italian full-grain cowhide leather handles for that "old-world" travel feel, but inside, it’s all 2026 tech: a stage-free telescopic handle for custom height adjustment and the legendary Multiwheel System that ensures you’ll never struggle with a snagged wheel again.
Parade.com: Martha Stewart Just Posted Her Travel Look—And It's Peak Effortless Chic
At $2,725, it’s a major investment, but as Martha has proven over decades of frequent flying, a high-quality suitcase is the ultimate travel companion. With a shipping date estimated for April, you’ll want to move fast—because if there is anything that sells out faster than a D23 ticket, it’s a limited-run Rimowa.
The "Stealth Wealth" AlternativeLet’s be real: a four-figure suitcase may only be in the budget for someone with Martha’s empire. If you love the look but aren’t ready to drop $2,700 on a carry-on, there is a "stealth wealth" find we’re currently loving from Quince. Their $275 Aluminum Carry-On is a suspiciously good alternative that gives off serious first-class energy on a basic economy budget.
While it lacks the limited-edition grid embossing, it hits all the high-end notes: a durable aluminum body, Japanese-crafted Hinomoto 360° spinner wheels, and those crucial leather-wrapped handles that make a difference when you're hauling your life up an airplane gate.
It even features a zipperless design with dual TSA-approved locks. As I’ve noted before, the best part of a $275 investment is the "scuff factor"—you can actually let the baggage handlers have at it without the heartbreak that comes with scratching a $2,000 piece of art.

18 Years Ago, Pop Superstar Surpassed Elvis Presley's Record of 17 No. 1 Hits
It's been officially 18 years since Mariah Carey dethroned the King.
On April 3, 2008, the Queen of Christmas knocked the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley out of second place for the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart of any artist.
Carey's hit song "Touch My Body" became her 18th song to hit No. 1, surpassing Elvis' previous record of 17. (Elvis was in the second place position overall, behind The Beatles with 20, but he held the record of the most No. 1's for a solo artist—until Carey, that is.)
"Touch My Body" was released in February 2008 as the lead single of Carey's 11th studio album, E=MC². It became her 18th No. 1 hit, spending two consecutive weeks at the top.
But Carey has since added one more chart-topper to her resume. In 2019 her iconic holiday hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You" reached the summit of the Hot 100 nearly 20 years after its initial release, becoming her 19th career No. 1.

1983 Hit Song Is Climbing the Charts Again Thanks to HBO Max's New Comedy
The ’80s are alive and well thanks to the killer, nostalgia-heavy soundtrack of HBO Max’s new hit comedy Rooster. While the Steve Carellstarrer takes place in the modern day, the soundtrack incorporates some of the best hits of the 1980s, creating an emotional connection with Gen Xers while introducing iconic ’80s tunes to an entirely new generation of TV viewers.
The Soundtrack Behind Rooster Season 1The Season 1 Rooster soundtrack plays a major role in setting the tone of the show and features some of the best of the 1980s, including "Age of Consent" by New Order, "Only You" by Yaz, and "Kiss Off" by Violent Femmes.
The Season 1 soundtrack of Rooster also features Fun Boy Three’s iconic 1983 cover of The Go-Go’s’ "Our Lips Are Sealed." With newfound attention on the track, "Our Lips Are Sealed" is climbing the music charts once again.
The Story Behind "Our Lips Are Sealed"The Fun Boy Three version of "Our Lips Are Sealed" was originally released in 1983 and offers a more stripped-down, reggae-influenced take on the Go-Go’s frothy pop version. The Fun Boy Three version didn’t achieve the same level of commercial success on U.S. charts as The Go-Go’s original version released in 1981, but it climbed the charts in the UK and Ireland and is considered one of the most iconic cover songs of the ’80s.
Why Rooster Is Connecting With AudiencesIf you haven’t yet started streaming Rooster and you’re a fan of Ted Lasso, Shrinking, or Bad Monkey, this show is for you. A character-driven comedy that follows a flawed but charismatic writer—played by Carell—navigating his own relationships as he attempts to right the wrongs of his life. The show, created by Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses of Scrubs fame, blends razor-sharp humor with emotionally driven storytelling, often focusing on themes of reinvention, identity, and the messy realities of getting older.
The Power of an ’80s SoundtrackThe ’80s-heavy Rooster soundtrack is a defining element of the show and serves it both stylistically and emotionally. Tracks like "Our Lips Are Sealed" carry a mix of nostalgia, moodiness, and introspection, which mirror the themes of Carell’s attempts at reinvention.
The retro soundtrack also connects audiences across generations, from those who remember the songs firsthand (raises hand) to those discovering them for the very first time.
The combination of nostalgia and emotional connection turns the Rooster Season 1 soundtrack from background music into a full-on character in the show.
