Season 4 Love on the Spectrum couples: Who is still together?Madison & Tyler Tyler and Madison on 'Love on the Spectrum'

Netflix

Madison and Tyler are definitely a Love on the Spectrum success story, as the happy couple began Season 4 with Madison moving closer to her "cowboy sweetheart" and ended with the pair now engaged.

Early in the season, Madison confirmed that she had found "her person," in Tyler, which is what she had set out to do beginning in Season 3, when she first joined the show. Madison, who is known for her love of Disney princesses, is now getting a fairytale love story of her very own.

On their Valentine's Day date, which Madison shared marked her first Valentine's Day in a relationship, Tyler serenaded Madison with the country song "Livin' on Love," which Madison joined in on. She suspected that Tyler might be about to pop the question then, but the proposal came a few months later, during their Christmas in July-themed one-year anniversary celebration.

James has had the longest run on Love on Spectrum so far, as he first appeared in Season 1 and was among the returning cast members in Season 4. Although James had a few dates that didn't work out earlier in the show, in Season 3, he confirmed his relationship with Shelley. The two hadn't met on the show—Shelley had actually reached out to him after seeing him on the show—but they found love all the same.

Season 4 confirmed that James and Shelley are still happily together. During the season, the couple was on a house hunt, reflecting their readiness to take the next step. Like their romance, their search for a home had a happy ending, as the two are currently homeowners. James and Shelley have now been living together in their new home for several months, and they express continued love and admiration for each other, referring to each other as soulmates.

Connor and Georgie got together during Season 3, and they concluded that season feeling happy, compatible and hopeful for the future. However, at the beginning of Season 4, Connor expressed some concerns about the status of their relationship. Specifically, he worried that Georgie was keeping him at a distance, which left him feeling confused about how she felt about him—although he still had strong feelings for her, he shared.

Ultimately, Connor and Georgie decided to bring their relationship to an end, calling things off two weeks after their trip to London, which was depicted in Season 4. The two reportedly remain amicable, but they found that they had too many differences in the end. Georgie has since found love with a new person, Luke, while Connor is back on the search for love after taking some time to work on personal growth.

Logan was a newcomer to Love on the Spectrum in Season 4, and he was entering the dating world for the very first time. His first date was with Hailey, and after a pre-date preparatory chat with Love on the Spectrum's on-screen autism expert Jennifer Cook, Logan felt more ready to find his Hannah Montana love story.

Although Logan and Hailey had a first kiss and even began a relationship when Logan asked Hailey to be his girlfriend, Hailey eventually ended the relationship, telling Logan she would prefer to be friends. Logan is currently single, but he hasn't lost hope for love.

Emma was also a Love on the Spectrum newcomer, and she was looking to find love with someone who shared her Mormon faith. She had a first date with Austin early in Season 4, but she ultimately decided that they would be better as friends than romantic partners.

After her date with Austin, Emma found a romantic connection with Eric, with whom she had her first kiss. In the end, though, Emma preferred a friendship with him as well. Currently, Emma is single, but she ended Season 4 hopeful that she will find love in the future, as these experiences have helped her better understand what she is looking for in a romantic partner.

Dylan, the last newcomer on Love on the Spectrum Season 4, went on dates with two women during the season. His first-ever date was with Caroline, with whom Dylan felt a strong connection, even feeling that she may be his "one" on their first date. However, Dylan and Caroline ultimately didn't work out.

Dylan's next date in Season 4 was with Melissa, and although the two went on a second date, they eventually decided they weren't the right fit for each other. Dylan is now single, but he feels ready to keep dating and looking for love, and he remains friends with both Caroline and Melissa.

‘Jury Duty’ Star Reveals 9 Behind-the-Scenes Secrets Fans Never Knew (Exclusive)

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 5:12pm

Back in 2023, Jury Duty brought to our screens one of modern TV's most cavalier concepts. In a day and age filled with social media, and cameras in our pockets at all times, could an entire show be created around one guy who doesn't know he's in a TV show?

Of course, old-school reality TV fans are familiar with the concept, given the four seasons of The Joe Schmo Show that have aired to this point. But Jury Duty aimed to take a step beyond. Rather than putting someone on an entirely fabricated reality show, one if they created a real-life situation, something as mundane as getting called for jury duty, and truly make it out of the ordinary?

🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Jury Duty was a runaway hit for Amazon, who aired it on their Freevee service at the time. After raking in commendations, and Emmy nominations, the question became: Could they do it again? And, three years later, they provide the answer in Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat. The "hero" of our story now is Anthony Norman, who thinks he's hired as a temp to assist the annual company retreat for a hot sauce company called "Rockin' Grandma's." He has no idea that he's in for the wildest week of his life, and it's all built around seeing how he would react to every outlandish situation thrown his way.

The tightrope act that is Jury Duty only exists with the tireless talents of the actors who are tasked with playing believable, yet ridiculous characters. One of those actors in Company Retreat is Alex Bonifer, whose character Dougie is a black sheep of the family, looking to prove he deserves inheriting his father's company. Bonifer sat down with Parade to talk through the process of filming Jury Duty Presents Company Retreat, and reveal some of the biggest things you may not know about how this high-stakes social experiment comes together.

The actors were not told the show they auditioned for

The entire conceit to bring Anthony into the Company Retreat fold began with a fake job listing, leading to thousands of applications. Of course, those who sought out the temp position at Rockin' Grandma's wouldn't be able to know what their on-camera work would actually involve. But, according to Bonifer, the actors were left a fair amount in the dark as well when it came to auditioning for the gig.

"When I got the breakdown, it was 'Untitled Anthony King Project,'" Bonifer reveals, referring to showrunner Anthony King. "But given the nature of the breakdown, meaning the role and the sort of vague description of the project, and the fact that we had to improvise for a full minute in the initial self-tape request, I kind of read between the lines.

Interestingly, throughout the entire process, Bonifer was not given any scenes that would wind up playing out in Jury Duty. Instead, he was given a couple of different scenarios and characters and told to improvise, clearly a test to see if the actors could sink or swim in the world of improv. But the ultimate trial came at the final callback. According to Bonifer, the production office was filled with cameras, much like the show proper would. It's then the actors were informed about the corporate setting — albeit at a coffee company rather than hot sauce. And they were told to simply walk in and interact with as many people as they wanted to while in character.

"My goal was just to do 'hard funny,' but believable," he explains. "Extract the comedy out of every single moment. And it was really an improviser's dream, because I got to put my 'stink' all over this character and all over this project."

Most plot points were scripted — but quite a few weren't

Bonifer confirms that, while the Jury Duty was speaking weeks getting into character, they were also being given the scripts of the season. The writers' room had already crafted the overall arc of the company retreat, from Kevin's (Ryan Perez) botched proposal and sudden departure to Doug (Jerry Hauck) refusing to sign over his company at the eleventh hour. That meant that the skeleton of the season would remain the same, no matter what Anthony said or did.

That's not to say, however, that every beat in the show came from the written page. In fact, as Bonifer reveals, the "PJ's Snack Attack" running segment was something that was not in the initial scripts, instead crafted on the fly during filming. Some plot points even unintentionally came from Anthony himself.

"The spicy applesauce that wasn't anywhere to be found [in the script]," Bonifer says. "That was something that Anthony said. And my first time meeting him in the conference room, which we don't see, he had mentioned, 'Oh, I think I wonder if my son would like spicy applesauce.' And so that took us down a whole path."

The show was nearly entirely improvised

Of course, in finding out that there was a writing team and scripts behind Jury Duty, the next question becomes: How scripted was it? And Bonifer clarifies that the script served much more as a recommendation rather than a mandate.

"I would say, for every five pages of the script outline, there might have been a small chunk of scripted dialogue," he says. "But even that was like, 'Here's the broad stroke.' But it was mostly like, 'Here's the journey, and you guys fill in the rest.'"

Bonifer says the moment he's the most proud of improvising came from a group interview that actually became the last line of the trailer. A straight-faced Dougie describes becoming the impending CEO, saying, "People think this job was handed to me. And I'm just excited to prove that it's not a hand job, it's an earned job."

"That's something that I fully improvised," he says. "It's a feeling I often get in improv, where I'm like, 'Don't say that. I don't know if that's gonna be funny. I don't know. Bail on it.' And I had that same feeling come up in that moment during that group interview. But I was just like, 'Screw it. Trust your instinct. Say it.'"

While Bonifer was worried that the crew would say the line was too over the top, he pulled it off, which he credits to the surprising humanity he brings to a man who dropped out of business school to join a reggae band — which he was subsequently kicked out of.

"I prided myself on my portrayal of Dougie," he admits. "He has his crazy moments, but ultimately, he was a grounded, real, believable character with a lot of heart. And so I trusted that, even in a line like that, it's funny because he missed the innuendo completely. But it would still be believable and grounded and real."

Bonifer went undercover in character before getting the part

Bonifer credits his ability to create zany, yet believable characters due to his extensive improvisational background and work in the Groundlings. But there's a certain suspension of disbelief when it comes to seeing an improv show. In order for Jury Duty to be pulled off correctly, these characters had to pass the smell test in the real world. And that's exactly what Bonifer set out to do while he was auditioning for the part that would ultimately become Dougie.

"When I had my that in-person callback I was referring to, my hair was a little longer," he recounts. "And I had teased it out, so it was nice and big and floofy and unprofessional. I didn't have a full beard, but I had kind of like a five o'clock shadow. I was wearing my big suit that I wore in the client cookout. And I was so nervous, like, 'Are people gonna think this is phony?'

"So one of the things I did, and I'm so glad that I did, was that there was a Vons down the street on Ventura Boulevard, and I was early to my audition by about an hour. So I pulled into this Vons, and I just full-blown, in-character was walking around this Vons for 20 to 30 minutes. Interacting with people, asking them if I could use the bathroom, if they thought this cereal was any good. And it really, really helped my confidence to go like, "Oh, wow. Everyone thinks I'm real."

Alex Bonifer says the secret to the success of 'Jury Duty: Company Retreat' comes from the amount of downtime the cast would spend in character.

Anthony committed to Rockin' Grandma's much quicker than expected

Of course, much of the plot this season hinged on Anthony's support of Dougie, through his various attempts to prove to his dad that he's the perfect person hand-picked to take over the company. And it's something Bonifer credits to the 24/7 immersive experience this wound up being. Every time the cameras and/or Anthony were around, they had to be in character. And that profuse amount of downtime allowed for connections to easily manifest.

"We lived there around the clock, so you're only actually getting to see a fraction of what our experience was," he says. "That's how we were able to forge such a real friendship. Our interactions were largely casual. And I was just saying truths about my life."

Even so, it's safe to say that Anthony went all-in for people he met a week ago at an alarming pace. Bonifer recalls watching back Episode 3, where Doug pulls Dougie aside after the latter leads a disastrous attempt at a new product launch. Anthony's face expresses palpable hurt and concern, which moves the actor.

"It's because he's just a good guy," he says. "He's just a guy that cares about people. And that was really the first moment where I was like, 'Oh, wow.' He's upset for Dougie. He's feeling for Dougie in this moment, because he genuinely cares"

"Was I surprised that we had that strong of a connection? Probably," he admits. "We have a lot of similarities. He's an athlete. I'm an athlete; I played football in college. Our sons are just a few months apart in age. That was the hardest secret to keep, honestly, the whole time. He would talk about his son, and I had to play dumb. But I was like, 'Dude, I know exactly what you're you know talking about, what you're going through.'

"I think we were all initially surprised, at first, at just how engaging Anthony was. But once we all got to know him, after a day, everything he did became very unsurprising, because he just proved to be who he was. And then when he would start pulling us aside and checking in with us, and being there for Claire and being there for PJ with his 'snack attacks,' at that point, we weren't surprised. We're like, 'Of course Anthony would do this. That's just who he is.'"

Bonifer was never worried Anthony would figure everything out

To pull off something like this is a high-wire act, to say the least. As highlighted in the finale, the scale of production massively multiplied compared to Season 1, meaning more possibilities for things to go wrong. Regardless, when it came to the characters, even during some of their most ridiculous moments, Bonifer never doubted that Anthony would hear what someone was saying and clock that something was up.

"In terms of Anthony believing in the reality, I never really questioned that," he says. "I don't think any of us did. I think that he was fully invested in us as people. Even for me, as an actor who knew what was going on, what being at this very real, very peaceful, very tranquil, recruit retreat facility with limited access to phones, you almost forget about the world outside of this little retreat. That's what businesses go on retreats for. Like, 'Let's strip away the world for a period of time. Let's bond, let's get close.' And you really become fully invested in the thing that you're doing on the retreat. So in terms of that world, we were literally living in that bubble the entire time around the clock. So I was never worried about him questioning the reality.

...but there were a few times they almost got caught

All that said, even if Anthony was all-in on the reality of Rockin' Grandma's, it didn't mean there wasn't a chance of things going wrong. We saw in the finale the moment when things came the closest to crashing down, with the notary pretending to lock his keys in his car, but with the window rolled down. We get taken inside the Jury Duty control room at that point, as the producers hurriedly radio Marjorie (Blair Beeken), telling her to roll the window up and lock the car while Anthony is preoccupied.

But Bonifer says there was another revealing moment caught off-camera earlier in the season. After the documentary crew (and the show proper) "wrapped" for the day, they would schedule a variety of nighttime events for the "company." One of the first nights, they did a "sound bath," which was an immediate hit, so much so that they brought it back towards the end of the retreat. It's a decision they would later regret.

"We went to turn off all the lights, and there was one light bulb that was not going off," he explains. "S it was me, Anthony and Warren Burke, who plays Steve. And we were getting it set up. And Warren gets up on the ladder, and he's like, 'Well, just let's just unscrew it. We'll just take out the light.' So he goes to unscrew it, takes it off, and the light is still on. And we're like, 'What?' And we look, and it's got the production tape with writing on it.

"It really felt like in The Truman Show, when the light falls down on this guy. I was like, 'What?! Then he was like, 'What the hell?!' And I was like, 'Oh no, dude, let's just get out of here and get our sound bath.' And I literally hid it under a pillow. And we were like, 'Let's just not talk about this.' But that was the one moment where on the production side where I was like, 'Oh my god. This is a production light that they didn't tell us about, that they of course, didn't want us to take down. But here we are, so...crisis averted."

When Anthony found out he was on a TV show, Alex Bonifer says his response was 'in grace and in understanding and in joy.'

Courtesy of Amazon

Anthony's reaction to the reveal was not a surprise

Everything that the actors and crew had spent weeks, nay months, prepping for finally reached its peak (or second mountain) in Episode 7. The climax of the story had arrived, as Anthony and Dougie discover Truikas's true intentions in acquiring Rockin' Grandma's mere minutes before the contract would be signed. What follows is a madcap sprint to the finish, complete with multiple trips up the hill, and Bonifer crashing through a banner.

As he describes it, "I had to be snuck down the mountain, hide in my room for Anthony to come back with the coffee, intercept him, go to Triukas, go around the building in a certain specific way so that we could hear them talking in the vents, run up the hill, not find Doug, run back down the hill. So when I got that script, I remember my first thought being like, 'I mean...okay, good luck! I don't know who's going to make this all happen.' And, sure enough, we pulled it off."

Considering how much Bonifer had to compartmentalize as he literally ran through the endgame like a chicken with its head cut off, he didn't pay much mind to what would happen next. After all, while the story of Rockin' Grandma's had come to an end, the story of Jury Duty would not without its final act: The reveal.

When asked about his anticipated reaction from Anthony, Bonifer says, "There were no expectations. I had so much adrenaline rushing through my body, and I was still so present in the halting of the signing of this deal that it kind of caught up to me pretty quickly. But I think I had a lot of confidence that Anthony wouldn't feel hurt or betrayed. I knew that there would be a large degree of shock. But I think I was confident in the relationship that we had built over the course of this experience, and the relationship he built with every other person."

"I thought it was beautiful," he continues. "I thought that he received it in a very unsurprising, very Anthony way, in grace and in understanding and in joy. He was constantly making the joyous choice. And so when it was revealed that he was going to get money right at the end of this, we all just started bawling. And that's what I held on to. I knew that we were going to change Anthony Norman's life for the better. That's what I held on to throughout the whole time of this little layer of deceit that there was to this project. Like, 'No, the world is going to see what a good human he is, and his life is going to change.' And any preconceptions that I had about that reveal, everything else he did, he surpassed it for the better."

Is Anthony close with the Jury Duty cast today?

Jury Duty Season 2 filmed nearly a year and a half ago, timestamped by the fact that the XYZ wildfire nearly derailed the plot of an outdoor search for Dougie halfway through the season. But, even though months have passed since the fourth wall broke and the entire ruse was revealed, Anthony is still in good company with the Company Retreat cast.

"Anthony is going to be a friend of mine for the rest of my life," Bonfier says. "And I'm going to be friends and connected with everyone else at Rockin' Grandma's for the rest of my life. We've all stayed in touch. Rachel Callie, who plays Claire, has a stand-up show next week that a couple of us are going to. Anthony's come out to see me perform at the Groundlings.

"The nature of what we did really bred a closeness unlike any other set or any other project that I've ever worked on. And, honestly, I think the time that has passed since we've wrapped, now that we are able to talk about it, we were all living with this secret that we could only talk to each other about it. And so anything that came up, or any feelings, we were all there for each other to navigate the long wait. And now we're all getting to enjoy it together."

It seems that, even if Rockin' Grandma's is not an actual company, the family feeling behind it remains the biggest reality coming out of Jury Duty.

1981’s Country Cool Classic Sent Barbara Mandrell Straight to No. 1

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 5:10pm

In 1981, Barbara Mandrell reigned as country music’s queen and further solidified her stardom with a song inspired by the sounds that shaped her as a young girl.

On July 4, 1981, Mandrell celebrated a Billboard Country No. 1 hit with the song "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool." The song was written by Kye Fleming and Dennis Morgan after a particularly poignant conversation with the country superstar.

According to American Songwriter, Mandrell was teased at school for loving what the other kids called "hillbilly music." This experience later helped shape the heartfelt message behind her chart-topping hit.

“(Kye) and Dennis wrote it after a visit we had had about my early years as a little grade schooler in California,” Mandrell told CMT as reported by American Songwriter. “I was doing live television on a Saturday night and going back to school on Monday morning and being teased about that hillbilly music. Just things of that nature, little stories.”

Fleming said the idea for the song struck her immediately. “I’m looking around like, ‘Anybody hear that?’” Fleming said of the inspiration for "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool."

Fleming added, “I did at that moment think, ‘Wow, this could be really corny. It could be really good. So let’s take our time with it.’”

Artemis II Astronauts Share Breathtaking Earth Photos

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 5:06pm

NASA’s Artemis II mission lifted off on April 1, marking the first time NASA has sent astronauts to the moon since 1972. Today, they shared their first photos of Earth.

Artemis II Commander, Reid Wiseman, shared four photos of Earth that NASA posted on their website and Instagram.

The first photo shows “One-third of Earth peeking through the window of the Orion capsule,” NASA posted. “The planet is a dreamy pale blue, swirling with white clouds and reflected sunlight. Although Earth only fills a fraction of the image it is the brightest object in the image by far.”

The second photo is “A full disk image of Earth, as seen from the Orion capsule,” NASA said. “The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light.”

View this post on Instagram

The two other photos from Wiseman were posted on NASA’s Instagram page a few hours later. In one of them, the divide between night and day, known as the terminator, can be seen cutting across the Earth. The other photo was taken from the Orion capsule, with sunlight illuminating from the limb of Earth.

Wiseman is on the Artemis II mission alongside Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Glover is the first Black astronaut to travel to deep space, and in a video call with ABC News, he said about Earth, “Trust us, you look amazing, you look beautiful, and from up here you also look like one thing
 you're all one people."

As of 6 a.m. on Friday, April 3, Artemis II is over 70,000 miles away from Earth. Their 10-day mission has the astronauts traveling at 4,880 miles per hour, and currently, they have over 180,000 miles left to go before they reach the moon.

According to USA Today, the crew will be conducting “safety demonstrations such as CPR and evaluation of the medical kit” today. They will also run through “the observations they plan to make of the lunar surface.”

The crew is scheduled to return to Earth on April 10. They will splash down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California. The official broadcast of the Artemis II launch is still available to watch on NASA’s YouTube:

Tom Holland Gives Candid Take on Zendaya’s New Movie

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:59pm

Zendaya’s latest movie, The Drama, was released to theaters today, and Tom Holland can’t help but show his support.

In a recent Instagram story, the Spider-Man actor posted, “The Drama is out today. I couldn’t be more excited!”

On March 21, Holland also posted a photo of The Drama poster, along with a clip of the trailer.

“I honestly couldn’t be more excited for you to see this movie and believe me when I say it’s gonna floor you,” Holland posted. “Get your tickets now!”

View this post on Instagram

With over 4 million likes, fans have been buzzing over Holland’s supportive post.

“His wife’s biggest cheerleader,” one fan commented. “As he should be.”

Another fan joked, “Could you guys adopt me?”

Since Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, claimed that Zendaya and Holland privately got married, speculation has been running rampant that the couple did, in fact, tie the knot. However, in a recent interview with The New York Times’ Modern Love podcast, Zendaya explained why she won’t reveal if she’s married yet.

"There is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand, and I'm aware that I'm a public person, and so is he," Zendaya said. "And I'm also aware that we've grown up in front of people, and we've done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that. I don't want to dismiss that, like, 'Stay out of my business,' or whatever."

She continued, saying that she’s a private person, and while she and Holland try not to hide themselves, they want to “preserve things for [themselves]” to maintain joy within themselves and their family.

Holland’s public excitement for Zendaya’s The Drama comes on the heels of the release of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. In it, Spider-Man is longing to rekindle the flame between himself and MJ (portrayed by Zendaya). The film will be released in theaters on July 31. Watch the trailer here:

Josh Duhamel’s Kids Can’t Get Enough of These Trader Joe’s Treats

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:49pm

Actor Josh Duhamel’s family may be famous, but they’re kind of just like us. While dad is a celeb well-known for roles in Ransom Canyon, Safe Haven, Las Vegas, and Transformers, he also enjoys some fan-favorite Trader Joe’s treats.

Duhamel recently took to Instagram, posting what he captioned, “Family taste test after a Trader Joe’s grocery haul.” The actor made it clear that this wasn’t just another influencer moment courtesy of a paid celebrity. Wagging his finger, he says, “We’re not sponsored by Trader Joe’s, they’re not paying us.” In the background, you can hear his 12-year-old son, Axl (with ex-wife Fergie), shout, “Yet!”

View this post on Instagram

As the camera starts rolling, Duhamel’s younger son, two-year-old Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel (with his current wife, model Audra Mari) cutely interrupts dad in the masterful way only a true toddler could.

The family starts with TJ’s sweet springtime snack, the sprinkle-covered Pinks & Whites. Duhamel explains, “One is not good, five is great.” Axl takes a tween-sized bite (in other words, a stuffed mouthful) of the cookies and gives the treats a solid four. Mom/stepmom Mari only gives the frosted flowers a three. Duhamel goes lower, giving the Trader Joe’s snack a 2.5. Then the camera turns to Shepherd, who says, “I like it!”

Next up? Trader Joe’s Chocolate Truffle Eggs. Axl unwraps the foil, tries an egg, and gives it a 2.5, Mari rates it as a two, Duhamel says a 4.5, and Shepherd sweetly smiles (clearly enjoying the chocolate Easter treat).

The family moves on to TJ’s Bamba. Even though Axl calls it “Pretty weird,” he still gives the stuffed peanut and corn snacks a 3.5. Mari agrees with his assessment, and Duhamel says he “likes it very much,” giving it a four.

Fans flocked to Duhamel’s post, raving about the clip. One commenter gushed, “The little one going, “I like it” is everything!”, while another wrote, “Will this family taste test become a regular thing on social media? Because I can't wait to see the next episode!”

Along with comments about TJ’s tasty treats, one fan remarked, “Wow, Axl looks so much like his mom now!” Of course, his mom is Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie. Duhamel recently opened up on The Megyn Kelly Show, talking about the demise of his past relationship, “She was a massive star at the time. It was a big adjustment for me.” He went on to say, “It’s probably my own ego more than anything
I don’t think it bugged her as much as it probably did me...suddenly you’re in that shadow.”

1974 Career-Defining Classic Was No. 1 Hit Song 52 Years Ago Today

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:39pm

In 1974, Charlie Rich released a song that would become one of the most beloved hits of his career.

His single, "A Very Special Love Song," quickly climbed the charts, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and crossing over to the pop charts as well. The track's success helped solidify Rich's place as one of the defining voices of country music in the 1970s.

Known for blending country, pop and soul influences, Rich brought a smooth, emotional delivery to the song that set it apart from many of his contemporaries. "A Very Special Love Song" showcased his ability to connect with listeners through heartfelt lyrics and understated vocal power.

The song arrived during a peak period in Rich's career, following the success of other major hits that helped him earn the nickname "The Silver Fox"” His crossover appeal allowed him to reach a wide audience, bridging the gap between country and mainstream pop music.

"I traveled with country music folk and played country music shows and auditoriums," Rich told Terry Gross in a 1992 interview. "I liked country music but that wasn't all that I liked. And I still think there's some great country records out there and some good things come out of country music. I just can't seem to just stay in one particular thing because I kind of - I feel like it kind of makes me stale if I try to stay in one particular category. And so I venture out on a lot of new things. Some work, some don't."

At its core, the song is a romantic ballad that leans into sincerity and simplicity, capturing the feeling of deep, enduring love. That emotional clarity helped it resonate with audiences and contributed to its lasting popularity.

More than five decades later, "A Very Special Love Song" remains a standout in Charlie Rich's catalog, a career-defining classic that continues to be celebrated as one of the era’s most memorable country hits.

Clint Eastwood Turns 96 Next Month and Is Reportedly Done With Hollywood for Good

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:21pm

Clint Eastwood is one of the most celebrated filmmakers and actors in Hollywood history—and by all accounts, he couldn't care less about any of that right now.

The legendary director and actor, who turns 96 in May, has quietly stepped away from the industry, and a source close to him says the transition has been entirely intentional. "His filmmaking days are finally over," the source exclusively told Closer Weekly in an article shared Friday, April 3. "Clint's main hobbies now are playing piano and making art for himself."

According to the source, Eastwood has been splitting his time between homes on the California coast and Hawaii, far from the Hollywood circles he once was a part of. "He's retreated to his beautiful homes far away from Tinseltown, and he doesn't seem interested at all with saying a grand goodbye or even looking back on the library of unforgettable films he has made," the source noted. "Being famous doesn't mean anything to him anymore."

The source added that, "his legacy will be celebrated forever. He's brought joy and entertainment to a lot of people."

Eastwood himself addressed retirement speculation last year, pushing back on a reported interview with Austrian publication Kurier in which he allegedly said he had no plans to retire. He revealed to Deadline: “I thought I would set the record straight.  I can confirm I’ve turned 95. I can also confirm that I never gave an interview to an Austrian publication called Kurier, or any other writer in recent weeks, and that the interview is entirely phony.”

Eastwood first appeared onscreen in 1955 and went on to build an impressive resume—from iconic roles in Dirty Harry and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to directing celebrated films like Million Dollar Baby and Gran Torino. His last project, Juror No. 2, was released in 2024 when he was 94 years old.

1996 Career-Defining Single Gets Acoustic Makeover 30 Years Later

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:11pm

Jewel is giving fans a stripped-down performance of one her most iconic songs.

In a new Instagram post shared this week, the 51-year-old singer revisited her career-defining '90s track, "You Were Meant For Me," delivering an acoustic rendition of the hit song 30 years after its initial release.

"This song changed the course of my life forever," she wrote in her post on Thursday, April 2, alongside a video of her singing an unplugged version of the timeless folk-pop song.

Fans were instantly obsessed with the "magical" performance, which consisted of nothing but Jewel's raw vocals and an acoustic guitar.

"But how is it even better now?" one commenter wrote under the post, while another nostalgic user added, "This song is the soundtrack of my life ❀‍đŸ©č"

"Brings me right back to the 90's!" someone else commented.

While reminiscing on her 1996 hit in her post on Thursday, Jewel pointed out that "You Were Meant For Me," which she wrote with Steve Poltz, held the record for the longest-running single on Billboard's Hot 100 at one point.

"It became the longest running single in history! UNREAL!! Of all the songs in all the world," she wrote in the caption. "And all thanks to YOU ALL."

"You Were Meant For Me" stayed on the Hot 100 for a total of 65 weeks, peaking at No. 2 in April 1997. At the time, it was the longest run of any song on the Hot 100, but that record has since been broken by a number of other songs, bumping it down to 12th place.

Currently, "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals holds the record with 91-week run, after surpassing The Weeknd's 90-week record for "Blinding Lights," in 2022. More long-running chart-toppers include Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" (87 weeks) and "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz (76 weeks).

I Made a Copycat HoneyBaked Ham That Tastes Just Like the Real Thing

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:06pm

There’s something about an Easter ham that just feels like tradition on a plate. The glossy, caramelized crust. The sweet-meets-savory aroma filling the kitchen. The way everyone hovers nearby, waiting for that first slice. Growing up, a HoneyBaked Ham was always on our Easter table (alongside lamb—in keeping with my family’s Southern Italian roots).

But as I’ve gotten older—and now host most holidays—I’ve come to realize just how expensive that tradition can be: A bone-in spiral-sliced HoneyBaked Ham runs about $12 per pound; boneless options can climb closer to $17. Which means an 8- to 10-pound ham for a holiday feast could set you back over $100. And you haven’t even thought about antipasto, sides, dessert or wine. Yikes.

So this year, I decided to try something different. Instead of ordering a real HoneyBaked Ham, I went down the rabbit hole of “copycat” recipes, hoping to find one that could re-create that signature sweet, crunchy glaze and juicy interior at a fraction of the price. After scanning reviews and comment sections (where the real truth lives), I landed on the recipe I wanted to try—and put it to the test.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical. That iconic crackly sugar coating and perfectly juicy interior of a real HoneyBaked Ham seem like something only a specialty shop could pull off. But after making it myself, I realized it’s not only doable—it’s actually pretty straightforward and incredibly satisfying.

So, if you’ve ever wondered whether it’s worth attempting to make a copycat Honey Baked Ham at home, the short answer is yes. Below, what makes this style of ham so special, how to make it and whether it truly lives up to the original. Let’s dig in.

What Makes HoneyBaked Ham Different?

Courtesy Jo Ann Liguori

What sets a HoneyBaked Ham apart from a standard baked ham is its signature sweet, crunchy glaze. Instead of a thin liquid brushed on during baking, this style uses a thicker mixture of sugar, honey and warm spices that’s layered on and then caramelized to form a slightly crisp coating.

Another defining feature is that a real HoneyBaked Ham is spiral-cut, which allows the glaze to seep into every slice, giving you flavor in every bite—not just on the outside.

It’s also worth noting that authentic HoneyBaked Hams are already completely cooked and meant to be served at room temperature. At home, you’re mostly reheating and enhancing the flavor rather than cooking from scratch.

How Can I Make My Ham Taste Like a HoneyBaked Ham?

To get that classic flavor at home, you need to focus on four things:

  1. Start with the right ham. A fully cooked, spiral-cut ham is essential. It ensures even heating and allows the glaze to penetrate between slices.
  2. Reheat the ham in a relatively low oven. Slow heating is key to keeping the ham juicy.
  3. Build a balanced glaze. Honey and sugar provide sweetness, while Dijon mustard and vinegar add acidity to balance it out. Warm spices like cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg bring depth.
  4. Finish it with high heat. The signature texture comes from caramelizing the glaze. A quick blast under the broiler (or even a kitchen torch) creates that slightly crisp, crackly top.

What To Look for When Buying Ham

Choosing the right ham makes a big difference in the final result. As my grandmother used to say, “What you put is what you’ll find.” Here’s what to look for:

  • Spiral-cut: This is essential for that classic texture and easy serving.
  • Bone-in: The bone makes the ham more flavorful and tends to keep it moister (though boneless is slightly easier to serve).
  • Fully cooked: You’re reheating, not cooking.
  • Size: Plan for about œ pound per person.

This recipe is all about balance: savory, sweet, tangy and spiced. Simple ingredients come together to create a finished product that’s deeply flavorful. Here’s what you need:

  • 1 fully cooked spiral-cut ham (6 to 10 pounds)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • œ cup granulated sugar
  • œ cup brown sugar
  • ÂŒ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • œ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • œ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ÂŒ teaspoon ground cloves

How To Make Copycat HoneyBaked Ham

You can find the exact copycat recipe at Steph’s Real Life, but here’s the gist:

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place the ham, cut side down, in a roasting pan, add the juice to the bottom of the pan, and tent loosely with foil.

2. Bake for 10 minutes per pound, just until warmed through (1 hour for a 6-pound ham).

3. Prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the remaining ingredients and simmer until smooth and slightly thickened.

4. Remove the ham and raise the oven to 425°F. Brush half of the glaze over the ham, making sure it gets between the slices. Bake for 15 minutes.

5. Remove the ham and set the oven to broil. (If the glaze has seized up, reheat it for a minute.) Brush the remaining glaze over the ham and sprinkle with extra brown sugar.

7. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes, but watch closely—this step happens fast.

8. Let the ham rest 10 minutes before slicing.

Copycat HoneyBaked Ham Recipe Review: My Honest Thoughts

I went into this expecting “pretty good,” but not quite the real thing. I was pleasantly surprised.

The aroma while it was cooking was intoxicating; my house smelled like a holiday. The flavor was spot-on: sweet, slightly spiced and rich without being overwhelming. The glaze seeped beautifully into the slices, and the caramelized top added that satisfying texture.

The biggest win? The cost savings. My 6-pound copycat bone-in ham cost $15; the other ingredients are pantry staples and were already in my house. Compared to a $100+ real HoneyBaked Ham, that’s a huge difference.

I also love the flexibility of the recipe. Don’t like cloves? Omit them. Tweak the sweetness by using less sugar. Out of OJ? Sub pineapple juice or water.

If I had one critique, it’s that getting the crust exactly right takes a little practice. The broiler step can go from perfect to burnt quickly, so you need to keep an eye on it. And, I wish I had rotated the ham and put it back under the broiler, so I would have gotten even more of those crispy bits.

Overall, though, this is a recipe I’d absolutely make again. Whether you’re hosting a full house on Easter Sunday (like I am) or just want leftovers for sandwiches all week, this copycat HoneyBaked Ham delivers that nostalgic flavor without the premium price tag.

Make Ahead and Storage Tips
  • Make ahead: Bake and glaze the ham a day in advance, then reheat gently (at around 300°F) covered with foil until warmed through.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers (if you have any) in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four or five days. And yes, you can freeze leftover ham. Wrap tightly and store for up to two months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.
  • Leftover ideas: Use leftovers for sandwiches, omelets or pasta dishes. And don’t forget to save the bone for a pot of split-pea soup.

Scarlett Johansson Reveals the Beloved '90s Actor She Asked for an Autograph

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 4:02pm

Even A-list actors get starstruck.

The Late Show with Steven Colbert shared a previously unreleased clip of Scarlett Johansson during her interview back in September 2025, where the talk show host played his game The Colbert Questionert, where he asks his guests rapid-fire questions. Not only did the duo discuss what animals the Black Widow star thinks are the scariest, apples versus oranges, her first concert and if she prefers the window or aisle seat on an airplane, but Johnasson also revealed an actor she asked for an autograph from.

When Colbert asked the 41-year-old actress, she immediately lit up and answered that she had asked Patrick Stewart, and the audience cheered for her. The award-winning English actor is best known for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation films, where he played Captain Jean-Luc Picard from 1987 to 1994. He also played Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Menfranchise for 22 years.

Johansson explained that she was on a flight to London to promote The Horse Whisperer, the 1998 film that was considered her breakout role. She was 13 years old at the time, and she was sitting in the first-class cabin of British Airways, which was "a big deal" for her and she joked that she "felt like the Queen of England." It turns out, Stewart was also in the cabin, and she said that she "had to ask him."

"I remember he wrote 'Sweet dreams, Patrick Stewart' because we were all going to sleep because it was a transatlantic flight," Johansson said. Colbert then asked the actress if she kept the autograph all of these years, and she responded that "it must be somewhere."

Now the second-highest-grossing actress in history, Johansson started her career as a child actress in the 1990s. After making small appearances in various films such as North, Just Cause, If Lucy Fell, Manny & Lo, Fall and Home Alone 3, she attracted wider attention for her performance in The Horse Whisperer. In the 2000s and 2010s, she started transitioning into more adult roles, working with Woody Allen and eventually gaining her worldwide recognition in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.

After she ended her run in Marvel in 2021, Johansson has continued to act and started stepping towards directing and producing. She made her directorial debut in Eleanor the Great, which was released in theaters in late September 2025. Her upcoming projects include the animated filmRay Gunn, where she voices Venus Star, as well as the upcoming The Exorcist movie coming out next year and Paper Tiger, which is currently in post-production.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs new episodes every weekday at 11:35 pm ET on CBS. The show is also available to stream on Paramount+. After theLate Show franchise had aired on CBS for over 32 years, the network announced they are retiring the show entirely, and the final episode is scheduled for May 21.

The Dude—an iconic, unemployed slob who inspired nothing less than a religion—abides in the Coens' immortal cult classic follow-up to Fargo. Jeff Bridges is El Duderino, who’s entangled in a ransom plot, some sex stuff and lots and lots of bowling. Mostly dismissed when it was released, The Big Lebowski has amassed an ever-growing following that would be hard to overstate.

Hawaii’s 'Forbidden Island' Opens for the First Time in 100 Years

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 3:48pm

For more than a century, Niʻihau—often called Hawaii's "Forbidden Island"—has remained one of the most mysterious and protected places in the United States. Privately owned since 1864 and largely closed to outsiders, the island has preserved a way of life that feels untouched by modern tourism. Now, in a rare and historic shift, Niʻihau is opening its doors to limited outside access for the first time in over 100 years.

Located just 17 miles southwest of Kauai, Niʻihau is home to a small population of Native Hawaiians who have maintained their language, traditions, and cultural practices with minimal to no outside influence. The island has long been off-limits to visitors in order to protect this unique community and its way of life. Unlike the bustling resorts of Oahu or Maui, Niʻihau has no large-scale infrastructure, no paved roads, and no commercial tourism industry.

The decision to allow limited access marks a significant moment in both cultural and environmental history—not just for curious travelers, but for preservation efforts, as well. According to Surfer, the opening is being handled with extreme care, prioritizing respect for residents and the land. Visits are tightly controlled through guided experiences that emphasize education, conservation, and cultural awareness rather than traditional tourism.

For decades, Niʻihau’s isolation has fueled immense intrigue. Stories of its pristine beaches, endangered wildlife, and deeply rooted Hawaiian traditions have made it the subject of fascination among historians, anthropologists, and travelers alike. The island is also known for its intricate shell lei craftsmanship—a tradition passed down through generations and found nowhere else in quite the same way.

Still, this opening does not signal a transformation into a typical tourist destination. Instead, it reflects a careful balancing act: sharing a glimpse of NiÊ»ihau with the outside world while preserving the very qualities that make it so special. For many Native Hawaiians, the island represents cultural resilience. It's a place where Ê»Ćlelo HawaiÊ»i (the Hawaiian language) is still spoken daily, and traditions remain central to everyday life.

As interest grows, the broader conversation will likely center on how to responsibly engage with places that have long been protected from mass tourism. Niʻihau’s next chapter offers a rare opportunity to rethink what travel can look like. For now, the "Forbidden Island" remains largely true to its name—just a little less forbidden than before.

Watch As Meghan Markle Has A Proud Mommy Moment When Prince Archie Hits the Slopes

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 3:47pm

It’s spring break, and everyone is on vacation—including the royals! Meghan Markle recently shared an absolutely adorable video of Prince Archie expertly shushing down the slopes. Okay, so maybe not expertly. But the royal’s son did manage to stay upright for the entire ride.

Of course, the young prince wasn't alone in the clip (which the Duchess of Sussex posted to Instagram earlier this week). He was joined by none other than skiing buddy/dad, Prince Harry.

Markle cutely captioned the clip, “My boys. Quick learner, Archie! So proud.”

Even though Markle and her husband stepped down from their royal roles and moved to the U.S. for some sense of normalcy, the family is still very much in the spotlight. But that doesn’t mean the mom constantly shares photos or videos of her kids. And that makes this candid clip even more special.

When royal watchers are treated to rare glimpses inside Prince Harry and Meghan’s life together, they are certainly not disappointed. The carefully curated content is almost always filled with precious moments that fans can’t get enough of. While Meghan’s Instagram account doesn’t allow comments, how could anyone not enjoy her cute carousels?

The mom of six-year-old Prince Archie and his four-year-old younger sister, Princess Lilibet, recently revealed a behind-the-scenes look at an “As ever” photo shoot. And yes, Markle’s lifestyle brand is just as perfectly polished and classically chic as the Duchess of Sussex is herself.

In a very real mommy moment, she asks sweetly, “Are you having fun, my love?, and almost immediately, there’s a flutter of movement and a child’s shout. Meghan giggles, saying, “Archie,” just as her second child (Lilibet) enters the frame. The Duchess bends down to listen to her little girl as Lilibet whispers something inaudible into her mom’s ear. Meghan replies, “Yes, I think you can. Let’s go, let’s go,” as she whisks her daughter away.

It might seem like Lilibet makes more appearances in mom’s videos and photos than Archie does, but the little prince is not absent from public pics. Last May, on his birthday, Meghan posted a sunset silhouette photo with the caption, “Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie! Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?” Speaking of time flying in just two short months, Prince Archie will turn seven. Hopefully, fans of the family will get to see another sneak peek into their royal lives!

The Murder of Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen: What We Know So Far

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 3:41pm

Nancy Metayer Bowen was a rising star on the Democratic political scene, having already been chosen by voters as the Vice Mayor of Coral Springs, Florida, who was reportedly gearing up for a congressional run, and also the current vice chair of the Florida Democratic Party.

However, her promising future was cut short when she was tragically murdered earlier this week. On Wednesday, April 1, Metayer Bowen was found dead inside her home by officers from the Coral Springs Police Department, her body wrapped in a blanket and a trash bag, per NBC News.

Metayer Bowen, the first Black and Haitian American woman to be a member of the Coral Springs City Commission, initially raised suspicion of her whereabouts and well-being when she did not show up for scheduled meetings on April 1 or respond to repeated text messages, according to an affidavit from authorities released on Thursday, April 2.

It didn’t take long for Metayer Bowen’s husband, Stephen Bowen, to emerge as the prime suspect in her disappearance.

A person close to Metayer Bowen, who has not been publicly identified, said they repeatedly tried to call her, but she was "not picking up," per the affidavit. That person then called the police for a wellness check at her residence.

Coral Springs police arrived at the couple’s home shortly after, but did not see outside evidence that anyone was home, as there were no cars in the driveway.

Attempts to contact Bowen were also unsuccessful, but there was “outward, explosive-like damage” on the second floor visible from the outside, consistent with force originating within the structure, according to the affidavit.

At 1:39 p.m. local time, Bowen’s car was spotted in a parking lot with someone who “matched Stephen Bowen’s description,” handing a bag to another occupant of the vehicle that “appeared consistent with a firearm carrying case,” the affidavit said.

That’s when police received a call from an individual who identified Bowen as his nephew and told them that Bowen told them that morning that “he did something to” Metayer Bowen and that she “was not alive,” per the document.

A SWAT team was promptly sent to the couple’s home, where they found Metayer Bowen dead inside a bedroom on the second floor. Bowen was arrested less than an hour after his car was spotted, at 2:35 p.m.

As the motive for Metayer Bowen’s shocking murder awaits, Bowen reportedly told an unidentified person what happened to his wife.

He allegedly admitted he shot her “three times with a shotgun the previous night and then slept downstairs,” the affidavit said, adding that he “couldn’t take it anymore.”

This is the second tragedy in Metayer Bowen’s family within the last few months, as her younger brother, Donovan Joshua Leigh Metayer, died by suicide in December 2025.

On Thursday, April 2, Bowen made his first court appearance, where he was charged with premeditated murder and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, according to PEOPLE.

He is currently being held at the Broward County Jail without bond.

1960 No. 1 Hit Inspired by an Italian Classic Was Recorded 66 Years Ago Today

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 3:23pm

Sixty-six years ago today, Elvis Presley walked into RCA Studio B in Nashville and recorded what would become the biggest-selling single of his entire career.

On April 3, 1960, Presley laid down "It's Now or Never" during a late-night session that ran from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. The recording was produced by Steve Sholes with assistance from Chet Atkins, engineered by Bill Porter and backed by the Jordanaires. But it wasn't the technical setup that made this session legendary. It was the song's unlikely origin story and the sheer determination Presley brought to the microphone.

The inspiration came from an Italian classic. While stationed in Germany during his two-year stint in the U.S. Army, Presley became captivated by "'O Sole Mio," a Neapolitan ballad written in 1898. He loved the melody so much that he asked his team to create an English-language version he could record. Songwriters Aaron Schroeder and Wally Gold delivered, reportedly writing the new lyrics in just 30 minutes.

A Vocal Performance That Brought Elvis to Tears

The session itself was intense. Presley insisted on nailing the song's dramatic vocal climax in a single take without any splicing. Co-writer Schroeder later recalled that Elvis "wanted everything to be right, almost to the point of having tears in his eyes because he felt himself to be struggling to get the result that he envisioned."

That perfectionism paid off. "It's Now or Never" was released in July 1960 and shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for five weeks. It also topped the charts in the U.K. for eight weeks. To date, the single has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, making it not only Presley's biggest hit but one of the best-selling singles in music history.

A Song Elvis Loved More Than Any Other

The track holds an especially personal place in the Presley legacy. Priscilla Presley has said it was her husband's favorite song, noting that he loved it more than anything else he ever recorded. And for fans who know the King primarily through his earlier rock and roll hits, "It's Now or Never" showcased a completely different side of his voice: operatic, tender and full of emotion.

More than six decades later, that late-night Nashville session still stands as one of the most important recording dates in rock and roll history.

John Stamos Reveals the Real Reason He’ll Never Play Uncle Jesse Again

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 3:20pm

John Stamos just revealed some information that Full House fans are sure to find disappointing.

In a March 2026 interview with Deadline Hollywood, alongside the cast and crew of his upcoming horror comedy film, Drag, Stamos was asked if he'd ever return to play his Full House character, Jesse Katsopolis, better known as Uncle Jesse. Stamos portrayed the rock-and-roll-loving character throughout Full House's eight-season run, which ended in 1995. The 62-year-old actor reprised the role for the Netflix reboot, Fuller House, which ran for five seasons until 2020, per IMDb.

While speaking to Deadline Hollywood, Stamos referenced that his Full House and Fuller House co-starBob Saget, who played Jesse's brother-in-law Danny Tanner, died in 2022 at the age of 65. According to Stamos, Saget had jokingly shared his morbid plan for another Full House revival after Fuller House wrapped up.

"Saget's passed away now, and he used to do a joke before he died. 'You can do Fullest House with just me and an urn on the fireplace,'" said Stamos to Deadline Hollywood.

He then shared he's not interested in playing wholesome roles like Uncle Jesse after filming Drag, wherein he plays a villainous character.

"After playing this role, I'm never going backward. This is forward. I mean, you know, this is where I'm at with my career. I did just another show, that's not like this, but in this vein, and that's where I'm going," said Stamos in the March 2026 interview.

John Stamos Shared How He Was Able to Accept That Uncle Jesse Was His Most Recognizable Role

Throughout his four decades in the entertainment industry, Stamos has appeared in popular projects like You, Scream Queens, General Hospital, and ER, per IMDb. However, he's still arguably most recognized for his role as Uncle Jesse.

In a 2023 interview on The Howard Stern Show, Stamos suggested he was initially bothered by fans only seeing him as his Full House counterpart. He said, however, he was given some perspective when he worked with late actorJames Earl Jones in the Broadway production of The Best Man in 2012. He referenced that Jones provided the voice for iconic Star Wars villain, Darth Vader.

"One of the moments was when I worked with James Earl Jones and here I am on stage with the greatest living actor. As we're walking out the stage door the first thing I hear, 'Uncle Jesse, Uncle Jesse, say Have Mercy!'" recalled Stamos in the 2023 interview. "And I couldn't look at the guy man. And he was standing next to me and just as I was just ready to throw up, I look over and somebody had their phone and they put it up to James, and said, 'James say Luke I am your father.' And we both looked at each other. I said, 'F--k it. That's it.' I'm never worrying about Uncle Jesse and all that stuff again."
