Joseph Duggar’s Attorney Breaks Silence on Child Molestation Case: ‘Nervous, Anxious and Worried’

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:54pm

Joseph Duggar is "nervous, anxious, and worried" about what his future looks like following his arrest for alleged child molestation, according to his attorney Al Sauline.

In an interview with TMZ, Sauline said it's been a whirlwind since Joseph was first arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, on Mar. 18.

Two days later, Joseph and his wife Kendra were hit with additional child endangerment charges—unrelated to Joseph’s initial case.

Sauline noted that with all the media coverage surrounding his ongoing court cases, Joseph is feeling the weight of the unknown that lies ahead.

The defense attorney told the outlet that Joseph has no idea what evidence Florida prosecutors have on him, and that his legal team is not allowed to see it until formal charges are filed. However, Joseph and his defense are aware of who the alleged victim is.

The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred with a nine-year-old girl—who is now 14—during a vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020.

Sauline noted there's a lot of conflicting evidence and speculation, making it difficult for the defense team to know what's real and what's not. They're also unsure of who is leaking information online and to the press.

Despite these challenges, Sauline said the defense team's top priority is that Joseph is treated fairly throughout the legal process. The 19 Kids and Counting star and his team are also standing by his not guilty plea, which was entered on Sunday, Mar. 29.

Joseph was released from jail after posting a $600,000 bond on Tuesday, Mar. 31.

Sauline said Joseph has "good family support" following his release back to Arkansas and they are helping him stay in "good spirits."

Joseph is due back in court on May 18, pushed back from his original court date of Apr. 20.

How Michael Jackson's Nephew Got Major Role in Upcoming Biopic

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:52pm

The role of Michael Jackson for the upcoming biopic about the King of Pop was given to the perfect person.

Jaafar Jackson, the son of Jermaine Jackson and nephew of Michael Jackson, will be making his film debut in Michael, playing the "Thriller" singer. Jaafar Jackson appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night to tell the story of how he got the lead role.

The 29-year-old actor and singer revealed that he first heard about the movie when he read an article online that film producer Graham King, who was also behind Queen's biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, got the rights to tell Michael Jackson's story. Two months later, King called Jaafar Jackson and told him that he wanted to have a Zoom meeting with him, and Jaafar already had a feeling about "what this was going to lead" to.

While getting lunch with King, Jaafar revealed to him that he "never wanted to be an actor" and he actually wanted to become a professional golf player, but got into music. But, he mentioned that he grew up watching his uncle's music videos and movies. Six months later, King got Jaafar Jackson an acting coach and started working on certain scenes for the upcoming film, and it ended up being a two-year process of auditioning and turning into Michael Jackson.

While filming Michael, Jaafar Jackson described "spending all those hours in the makeup chair" as "surreal and a spiritual moment at the same time."

"That process of seeing me slowly transform into Michael was emotional," he admitted. He also gave credit to Bill Corso, the head of makeup for the biopic.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jaafar Jackson started singing and dancing at 12 years old. In 2015, he was the main cast member of his family's reality show Living with the Jacksons, where he sang covers by Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. In 2019, he released his debut single "Got Me Singing," and appeared in various Jackson-related projects such as The Jacksons: Next Generation and the music video for Tito Jackson's "Love One Another."

It was confirmed in December 2023 that Jaafar Jackson was cast in the lead role of Michael, which is directed by Antoine Fuqua. The ensemble cast also features Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo, and will be released in theaters on April 24.

Best known for his songs, performances, fashion taste and popularizing street dance moves like the moonwalk and robot, Michael Jackson has been regarded as one of the most culturally significant figures in the 20th century. During this 40-year career, he released 10 studio albums and appeared in several films. The "Billie Jean" singer passed away in June 2009 from a cardiac arrest that was caused by a propofol overdose.

His upcoming biopic about his life and career, Michael, will be out in theaters on April 24.

Mark Harmon Continues To Take a Leaf Out of an ‘NCIS’ Character’s Book With New Release

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:36pm

As much as we would love to see Mark Harmon return to NCIS, the actor is happy with his life the way it is now. It’s not like he’s completely left the franchise either, offering the voiceover for NCIS: Origins, as it gets into Gibbs’ origin story.

Harmon is busy with a few other projects, and one of them is taking a leaf out of an NCIS character’s book. For the longest time, Tim McGee had to defend his love of writing, but for the actors, it’s different. Harmon has non-fiction book coming out.

‘Ghosts of Sicily’ Will Be Released in April 2026

Harmon has teamed up with a real NCIS vet, Leon Carroll Jr., to bring a nonfiction story about the real Naval Intelligence. The full title of the book is Ghosts of Sicily: The True Story of the Naval Intelligence Agents Who Courted the Mob to Fight Nazis in America and the Battlefields of Italy, which is arguably a bit of a mouthful, but it definitely tells you what you’ll be reading about!

The best thing is that there isn’t long to wait until this book is released. It’s slated to hit shelves on April 14, 2026, and it touches on a part of history that has been burned from existence. It turns out taht all records of how the Office of Naval Intelligence/ONI was involved in World War II, especially the invasion, have been burned from record. This book explores why that was, as well as what happened throughout the time period.

It could be due to the way that gangsters in New York were used as assets to help with the missions. It could also be linked to the fact that the mission wasn’t all that effective. Whatever the reason, we get to know very soon.

Not the First Book from Mark Harmon

This is not the first time Harmon has put pen to paper and followed in NCIS’s McGee’s footsteps. However, all of Harmon’s work has been nonfiction compared to McGee’s fiction.

Harmon and Carroll Jr. worked together on a release in November 2023, which was another look at history long forgotten by many. Ghosts of Honolulu: A Japanese Spy, A Japanese American Spy Hunter, and the Untold Story of Pearl Harbor is a must-read for those who want to learn a little more about the Eastern Front throughout World War II.

Heidi Klum and Seal’s Handsome Son Henry, 20, Is a Rising Musical Star Just Like His Dad

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:34pm

Heidi Klum and Seal's son, Henry Samuel, is eyeing a musical career just like his talented father.

The rising star, 20, whose mom is one of the most legendary models in the entire world, joined his mother on the red carpet at the New York premiere of The Drama at Regal Union Square this week. While he has the good looks of a model and has already started working the runways, Samuel is plotting to take over the world with his musical talent, just like his dear old dad.

Does Henry Want to Be a Musician?

Henry has walked a few runways just like his mother and signed with Next Management. However, his real focus is on building a music career. That’s not a big surprise, considering his father is Seal!

“When I’m playing guitar, it’s usually rock or blues,” Henry told GQ last year. “But when I’m listening to music, it’s usually rap or Steely Dan. I listen to a lot of Steely Dan.”

Of course, it’s a little scary walking the runway when your mom is one of the most famous models in the world.

“I’m very lucky to have a family that can support me in that sense, but also it’s a little bit [nerve-racking], ’cause I’m kind of putting on the show for them, too,” he said.

Take a look at the handsome young man as he walked the runway during the Lena Erziak Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 show as part of Paris Fashion Week at Hotel Le Marois last year in Paris, France.

Who Are Heidi Klum’s Other Children?

The supermodel stunner is also mom to kids Leni, 21, Johan, 19, and Lou, 16. However, with some of them growing up and leaving the nest, the kids are heading in different directions. Johan has started his college career, while Leni is frequently spotted modeling alongside her mom. The duo was even joined by Henry on the cover of Paper last month. Now that’s taking the family business to a whole new level!

This 1967 Sally Field Sitcom Aired Its Final Episode 56 Years Ago Today

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:34pm

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s actually a flying nun. In 1965, ABC premiered an offbeat fantasy sitcom set in a convent, centered on a nun with an extraordinary ability. More than five decades later, the beloved series aired its final episode, wrapping up its three-season run.

It's not every day that nuns have special powers that help them solve problems for the poor. The ABC sitcomThe Flying Nun was originally based on a book that was released that same year, titled The Fifteenth Pelican by Teres Rìos. The Flying Nun is exactly as the title desribes with actor Sally Field in the leading role of Elsie Ethrington, also known as Sister Bertrille.

Its storyline focuses on Bernard as she leaves New York after getting arrested for a life of service among a community of nuns in the Concent San Taco in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The comedy aspect of the sitcom comes from Sister Bertrille learning she can fly thanks to her heavily starched cornette, which serves as the headpiece for her habit. Thanks to her powers, she can solve almost any problem to help the poor and teach the underprivileged.

The Flying Nun also starred Madeleine Sherwood as Reverend Mother Placido, Marge Redmond as Sister Jacqueline, and Alenjandro Rey as Carlos Ramirez. An ensemble of actors also made up the rest of the cast in the roles of nuns at the convent, priests, doctors, and more.

Field landed the role in the sitcom after the cancellation of ABC's Gidget, where she played the leading character. Wanting to keep her on the air, the network developed The Flying Nun, and Field initially found the concept ridiculous and rejected the role. She took the role at her father's insistence, but wasn't happy during her time working on the sitcom due to its humor and ill-received criticism.

Due to better-performing series at the time, the sitcom was cancelled. On April 3, 1970, The Flying Nun aired its final episode after three seasons and 82 episodes. Field was also reportedly pregnant at the start of filming the third season, with props and scenery used to hide her growing bump. The sitcom did moderately well in its first two seasons and led Redmond to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Grey's Anatomy Teases Yet Another Major Character Exit

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:32pm

WARNING! Grey’s Anatomy spoilers ahead!

Grey's Anatomy has never been shy about shaking things up—and season 22 is proving to be one of the most turbulent in recent memory.

The latest episode, which aired Thursday, April 2, ended on a cliffhanger that has left fans wondering whether two more beloved characters could be on their way out. Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Dr. Benson Kwan (Harry Shum Jr.) are now caught in the crosshairs of an FDA investigation, and the fallout could cost them everything.

Long story short, the drama stems from Kwan injecting patient Quinn Durston with an experimental hydrogel that the FDA had specifically rejected, without the patient's consent. Bailey, aware of what happened, chose to cover for her resident rather than report him. "He was just trying to help and we had a treatment that could," she explained to her husband Dr. Ben Warren (Jason Winston George). "We've all done things we shouldn't have, but we're still here. He's paying for his mistake with notes and orders. He doesn't need to upend his training."

But keeping secrets at Grey Sloan Memorial never stays easy for long. When Durston developed a pulmonary embolism and his son revealed the truth about the experimental treatment, intern Dr. Dani Spencer took it upon herself to report the situation, turning Bailey in to the chief. Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) wasted no time. "The institutional review board will want every detail," he told Bailey as the episode cut to black. "They're launching an investigation."

The timing couldn't be more loaded. Just a week earlier, Kevin McKidd and Kim Raverconfirmed their departures from the show at the end of the season, with their characters Dr. Owen Hunt and Dr. Teddy Altman heading for the exit. McKidd has been on the show for a whopping 18 seasons, and Raver not far behind at 16 (though she had some breaks in between).

Fans will have to keep watching season 22 to find out whether Bailey and Kwan survive the investigation, or whether Grey Sloan is about to lose two more of its own.

Teen Baseball Player Heroically Smashes In Car Window to Save Woman Having a Seizure

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:32pm

Some kids are just built differently. When most would panic in stressful situations, others rise to the occasion with a tenacity that few adults could match. Philadelphia teen Jaheim Warner, 17, is one of the few.

Peoplerecently reported that, while the high school junior was finishing up a baseball game at Tacony Academy Charter High School on March 26, 2026, he was walking home when he noticed a woman in a white pickup truck who looked less than okay.

"There were people around it, like, trying to bang on the window saying, 'Wake up, wake up,'" he toldFOX 29. "The lady was, like, seizing—her arms were tight, and her head was back."

To make matters worse, the truck was slowly moving down the road in neutral, and the doors and windows were locked. A Ring camera caught him jumping into action. Without hesitation, Warner smashed the back window and climbed into the car. He reached the cab with the woman and unlocked the doors, staying with her until help arrived.

"I just felt like I had to stay with her, like, to make sure she wasn’t alone through that rough time and to make sure somebody could sit there and comfort her in the way that I could," Warner told FOX. "So I sat there. I held her hand. I said, 'It’s going to be okay. I’m not going to leave you.' And I never did."

The teen went on to tell the outlet that his instinct to help was basically second nature, and he plans to become a firefighter when he gets older.

"I care a lot about people, and I saw her going through something that I didn’t want to see anyone going through," he said.

What To Do If You Witness Someone Having a Seizure

Warner's quick thinking absolutely saved the unidentified woman's life. If you ever witness someone having a seizure, your actions could save a life. The CDC recommends:

  • Stay calm: You need to be clear-headed and collected to ensure the person stays safe.
  • Remove hazards: Move anything that could cause injury out of the person's reach.
  • Check for ID: See if the person has a medical bracelet that identifies their condition or any potential prescriptions they are on.
  • Gently turn them onto their side: If they are lying down, make sure their mouth is pointing toward the ground to keep their airway clear.
  • Keep time: If the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes, call emergency services.
  • Monitor for recurrence: If the person has a second seizure within a short time of the first, call for help immediately.

The key is to ride it out with them and assess any patterns for medical professionals. While I certainly hope none of us have to deal with something like that, I know that woman and her family were beyond thankful he stepped in when he did.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Former FBI Agent Points to Clues the Public Is Unaware Of

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:31pm

Jennifer Coffindaffer, a retired FBI Special Agent, says the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance involves far more information than the public realizes—but that doesn’t mean answers are guaranteed. With tens of thousands of leads, complex DNA profiles, and ransom notes that so far remain difficult to trace, Coffindaffer says the most crucial pieces may lie in the images and evidence the public hasn’t yet seen.

"Behind the scenes the FBI knows more than we do by far, but it doesn't mean they have any answers. 30k leads… Imagine 30k items on your to-do list?" Coffindaffer wrote on X on Friday, April 3.

"DNA with more than [two] profiles according to Sheriff Nanos-purportedly near impossible, according to experts, to do IGG on and ransom notes that can't be traced…at least not so far," she continued, adding, "The Public and Porch Guys image are the key."

In early February, Parade spoke with former FBI Special Agent Bryanna Fox who shared some insight into the case.

“This is like an iceberg,” Fox told me. "The amount we know that law enforcement knows is the tip of the iceberg. The rest is below the surface, and they do that on purpose."

"I think that was one of the reasons that [Sheriff Chris Nanos] has decided to go from talking to the media a lot to basically only doing press conferences when there’s a major development, because there is no benefit to sharing so much information with the public," she added.

As the investigation continues, Coffindaffer and other experts emphasize that the most critical pieces of the case may still be hidden from public view. While law enforcement continues to follow thousands of leads and examine complex evidence, Guthrie’s whereabouts remain unknown, and key questions—including the identity of “Porch Guy”—have yet to be answered.

Iconic '80s Hair Metal Singer With No. 1 Album Turns 58

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:27pm

Glam metal singer Sebastian Bach turned 58 on April 3, as reported by This Day in Music.

The Canadian singer rose to fame because of his time as Skid Row's singer in the late '80s and '90s. The metal band's 1991 record Slave to the Grind secured the number one spot on Billboard 200 in June 1991.

People magazine reported that Bach's 2026 North American The Party Never Ends Tour will begin in April and end in October. Ultimate Classic Rock also reported that Bach will be taking on the role of lead singer for Twisted Sister for the band's upcoming fall tour.

According to People, Bach shared he doesn't mind being an older rocker during a February 2026 interview with Loudwire Nights. He referenced that artists such asPaul McCartney, 83, Willie Nelson, 92, Neil Young, 80, and Rob Halford, 74, don't fret about getting on stage.

“Paul McCartney, he's doing amazing. Willie Nelson is 91, and he's rolling up joints and got his long hair, [he 's] on his tour bus and he's on the road again. I mean, 91. Geez ... Neil Young, Rob Halford, there are many, many examples of guys that keep rocking," said Bach during the February 2026 interview.

Sebastian Bach Shared How He's Maintained His Vocals

Bach shared how he's been able to maintain his singing voice over the last 40 years in a February 2026 interview with The Charismatic Voice. He stated that he's been doing the same 30-minute vocal warmup from when he was 19 every day.

"In effect, I'm keeping my voice where it was when I was 19. I'm doing the same exact lesson and I'm not changing it at all," explained Bach.

He also shared that he is constantly drinking water to stay hydrated. In addition, he said he won't ever sing "too guttural or too dirty" like "these death metal singers" because "it makes it sometimes impossible to get back to [his] clean tone." Bach explained that in order to be a good singer, "it's not about volume, it's about tone."

Savannah Guthrie’s ‘Today’ Return Expected To Be ‘One of the Most-Watched Morning-News Telecasts Ever'

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:13pm

Savannah Guthrie's return to Today on Monday is expected to bring in a massive amount of viewers for the beloved morning show.

The much-adored host, 54, whose mother, Nancy Guthrie, was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona home in February, will return to the NBC anchor chair on Monday, April 6. In a revealing new spread in Variety, experts predict that Guthrie's return to the studio will draw big crowds.

"Monday’s Today may be one of the most-watched morning-news telecasts in recent memory," the piece predicts.

What Has Savannah Guthrie Said About Returning?

During a sit-down interview with her close friend and colleague, Hoda Kotb, Guthrie shared that she was apprehensive, but hopeful, about returning.

“I don’t know if I can do it,” Guthrie said last week to Kotb. “I don’t know if I’ll belong anymore, but I would like to try. I would like to try.”

Guthrie also shared additional information that previously hadn't been shared with the public, including the fact that back doors to Nancy’s house were found open and that two ransom notes the family received are believed to have been real, the piece shared.

Insiders told Variety that producers are prepared to “play it by ear,” trying to work segments around their suitability to Guthrie. That means potentially avoiding anything too dark or too light during show segments.

Advertisers are Eager for Guthrie's Return

The piece continued by noting that advertisers are eager for Guthrie to come back to the show. Since sponsors are wary of political commentary, Today is viewed as a “valuable, trusted environment” that doesn't take sides. Guthrie has the rare capability to do lighter segments with celebrities and athletes, as well as more complex topics that include legal issues and hard-hitting news, including an interview with President Donald Trump. Thus far, advertisers have been sympathetic to Guthrie's experience as she navigates an impossible situation.

“I have not had one client pull or walk away,” the buyer told Variety.

William Shatner, 95, Sends Strong Message After AI-Generated Cancer Hoax

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:12pm

Legendary Star Trek actor William Shatner wasn't going to wait around, hoping that fans would ignore all the fake stories claiming that he had stage IV glioblastoma, a dangerous type of brain cancer. Instead, he took to social media to sound the alarm that he's neither dying nor sick.

"There is a page on [Facebook] that is using AI to create horrible fake news stories about me," Shatner wrote on X on April 2. "The page is by The Beanstalk Functions Group which is allegedly an Event Planner in South Africa. They have created stories that say I have stage 4 brain cancer, was in some kind of fight with Erika Kirk and that I’m dying."

I wanted to put this out yesterday but given the day and the possibility that it would look like a joke I waited for today. There is a page on @facebook that is using AI to create horrible fake news stories about me. The page is by The Beanstalk Functions Group which is… pic.twitter.com/q0zjSjYkMy

— William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) April 2, 2026

Shatner claimed that he had already contacted both Facebook and Guillermo Rauch, the CEO of Versel, which manages the open-source web framework Next.js, where the stories originated. However, the false stories have continued to circulate.

He explained that the photos were AI-generated images of him, and then posted several pictures of the offending stories. "They apparently seem genuine enough for fans to repost them across social media and send messages of support to me and my family all while the culprits behind the account make money," he added.

He reminded his fans and followers that, unless they hear it directly from him or one of his verified accounts, "take it with a grain of salt."

Several hours later, he shared a photo showing him sitting on a patio, smiling, and looking decidedly not ill. "My daughter came over to tell me her daughter heard that I had brain cancer," he captioned the photo. "She took this photo and sent it to me to upload to prove I'm not ill."

Thanks in part to the more than 130,000 people who read his story on X, not counting the other accounts where he posted it, Facebook finally listened and took action. Andy Stone, Meta's communications manager, responded to Shatner's post with a Star Trek pun, writing, "Our apologies for not moving at warp 7 or faster, Mr. Shatner. The page is now down."

Luckily, the 95-year-old has plenty of people looking out for him, including his devoted fans. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time he's had to refute reports that he's sick or on his deathbed, and it most likely won't be the last.

The report included the results of a workplace harassment complaint against Nanos by PCSD Lt. Heather Lappin, whom he defeated in a 2024 election.

In it, Northstar cleared Nanos of bullying, writing that the evidence "does not support a finding that the responding party acted for the purpose of creating a hostile or abusive workplace."

However, the firm did confirm that Nanos "used his authority and department resources for political gain." It added, "The evidence includes considering Lt. Lappin's political campaign in investigation and disciplinary decision making, culminating in using a press release that included information obtained in his capacity as Sheriff."

Northstar also found that Nanos "violated applicable code of conduct rules." It explained, "By including confidential information in a press release about the reasons he placed Lt. Lappin on paid administrative leave for political gain, he did not maintain rules about courtesy and civility."

In conclusion, the independent firm found Nanos' actions "inconsistent with the listed policies; however, the sheriff is not subject to these policies as an elected official."

A spokesperson for the PCSD said Nanos is aware of the report's results, Ruiz reported. "The findings do not support allegations of bullying but note additional concerns," they said in a statement. "The Sheriff has requested the full report for review."

The workplace harassment investigation results came amid ongoing criticism of Nanos and the PCSD as Nancy's case passed the two-month mark. Savannah's mother remains missing after she was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, no suspect(s) have been made.

Tragic Murder of Florida Single Mother Ajike Owens Subject of Tonight’s ‘20/20’ Episode

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:08pm

An ongoing dispute between Florida neighbors resulted in a single mother of four, Ajike Owens, being murdered in the summer of 2023 by Susan Lorincz.

The shocking murder immediately grabbed national attention and went viral across social media, largely due to the racist motivations behind Owens’ death. Already the subject of the Netflix documentary, The Perfect Neighbor, the case is now the central focus of the latest episode of ABC’s 20/20, titled The Neighbor From Hell.

This examination of the case features interviews with authorities, neighbors, and loved ones of Owens, including her mother, Pamela Dias.

"I'm told over the phone that my daughter has been killed," Dias recalls in the episode. "I cried. I screamed. I screamed."

The tension between Owens and Lorincz began one year before her murder. Lorincz had repeatedly called the police on Owens’ four children, and the other children in the neighborhood, who were all mostly Black, and Lorincz is an older white woman.

"Moms knew each other because all the kids were at the bus stop together," Kimberly Robinson-Jones, who was one of Owens' best friends, explains. "It's a family neighborhood."

The neighborhood children frequently played outside in the field near Lorincz’s home. Still, in her frequent calls to police, she accused the children, specifically Owens’ kids, of trespassing and being loud and disruptive.

"All of us live out here. Nobody else is complaining. Nobody else. She's the only one," neighbor Phyllis Wills said of Lorincz’s behavior towards those who lived in the community in Ocala, Florida.

Detective Ryan Stith, of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, backs up the depiction of Lorincz’s attitude in the neighborhood. "The picture was painted that Susan was a problem in the neighborhood," he says in the episode.

The simmering feud boiled over on June 2, 2023, when Owens knocked on Lorincz's door after Owens’ son told his mother that Lorincz screamed and threw a pair of roller skates at him.

Refusing to open the door, Lorincz instead shot Owens to death through her locked front door as her nine-year-old son, Israel, nicknamed “Izzy,” stood beside her.

"I cannot imagine for Izzy to be standing there next to his mom, and a gunshot pierces the door and hits his mom. I cannot imagine what that had to be like for him," show co-anchor Deborah Roberts says to Dias in the episode.

When police first arrived at the scene, Lorincz admitted to throwing the skates, but said that she did not aim them at anyone, and claimed that Owens’ children were once again trespassing.

Body camera footage released after Owens’ murder revealed the truth, that her behavior was not only racially motivated, but that she was consistently the aggressor in the neighborhood disputes.

Per footage from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the neighborhood children told the officers that Lorincz called them names, specifically racial slurs.

Their claims were confirmed when Lorincz admitted to using racial slurs and other derogatory names in reference to the children, according to the police report.

In 2024, over a year after Ajike Owens was murdered, Susan Lorincz was convicted of first-degree felony manslaughter with a firearm and sentenced to 25 years in prison, per ABC News, which she is currently appealing.

20/20: The Neighbor From Hell airs Friday, April 3, on ABC and is available to stream on Hulu the following day.

'80s 'Brat Pack' Star Reveals Alternate 'Pretty in Pink' Ending and We're Shook

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 1:06pm

At the end of the '80s classic movie Pretty in Pink, fans will recall that (spoiler alert!), tortured popular guy Blane (played by Andrew McCarthy) shows up at late to the prom, just in time to tell Andie (played by Molly Ringwald) how he really feels about her and, presumably, they live happily ever after. However, according to a recent interview with McCarthy, that isn't how the 1986 John Hughes movie originally ended.

In fact, McCarthy says, the creators reshot an entirely new ending after the first ending bombed with test audiences.

"Originally, I ended up not going to the prom with Molly, and she went with John Cryer [who played Duckie]. I just kinda ditched her through peer pressure," McCarthy explains to Drew Barrymore on her talk show this week. "And so they tested that for a test screening and the audience hated that. They wanted [Blane and Andie] to be together. So we had to reshoot the ending where I come back to the prom and say 'I love you'."

Team Duckie fans are probably rising up with rage and disappointment right about now.

What McCarthy is saying is that in the original ending, Andie did put on her big girl pants, sewn from a million different thrifted prom dresses, and showed up alone to the prom like a feminist champ. He's also saying that Duckie, being the devoted friend and wishful lover of Andie, also did show up like the true warrior in pointy-toed creepers he is, silently saying, I'm here for you, Andie, no matter if you ever love me or not.

But this is where things go off the rails. McCarthy is telling us that when Andie and Duckie walk into the prom together and share that sweet liberating moment, grasping hands and stepping into a world where everyone really can win, and we're like, Ooooh, maybe this could happen between them and we secretly chant, Unpopular kids forever! ... well, McCarthy is saying that's where Pretty in Pink could have ended, and originally did.

In the interview, McCarthy and Barrymore side-discuss the awkward wig McCarthy was forced to wear in the final do-over scene—since they decided to reshoot a new ending six months after the fact and McCarthy had shaved his head for another role.

But then Barrymore asks McCarthy point blank, "How did you feel about the fact that they wanted the happy ending?"

Happy ending? Happy for whom, Drew? Not Duckie ... !

McCarthy laughs and says, "I needed to get the girl, c'mon?"

This is very discombobulating information for Pretty in Pink fans, and, in fact, for the whole world order.

Watch Andrew McCarthy talk about the original Pretty in Pink ending on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Blue Bell Quietly Brings Back Classic 1980s Flavor for a Limited Time

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 12:54pm

Ice cream fans have a new reason to celebrate because Blue Bell just quietly brought back a vintage flavor that's been a fan-favorite for decades.

Making its way back to creameries and freezer shelves just as the weather is warming up is Blue Bell's Tin Roof ice cream.

There's plenty to love about the flavor, as it perfectly blends rich, chocolatey bites with crunchy, salty swirls.

The company describes Tin Roof as "a creamy vanilla flavored ice cream with a rich chocolate sundae sauce and roasted peanuts dipped in a dark chocolate flavored coating."

The sweet and salty combo is hard to resist, which is why fans are always so thrilled when it makes its brief yet impactful appearance.

The flavor, first introduced in 1980, was discontinued in 2019; however, it occasionally resurfaces, with the latest sighting reported over a year ago, in January 2025. At the time, one fan gave it the rating 'tin out of ten,' while another called it their absolute 'favorite.'

Per Blue Bell's website, it is now available in half-gallon size or by the scoop at local creameries.

Perhaps because the flavor is so sought-after whenever it does return, the company kept the news hush-hush, simply sharing the news on a fleeting Instagram Story with a video teasing that "a fan favorite is back for a limited time."

Tin Roof's origins

Blue Bell didn't invent Tin Roof, though it is one of their most beloved flavors.

The flavor actually dates back to a 1930s ice cream sundae invented in Potter, Nebraska at Potter Sundry.

While the modern version simplifies it and cuts out a key indgredient, the original actually featured a marshmallow drizzle, per Tasting Table.

The creator of the flavor was Harold Dean "Pinky" Thayer, whose daughter, Kathy, says the name originated from the tin roof ceiling tiles above the counter where the flavor was first whipped up.

Over the years, its popularity has never wavered. In fact, since it's a limited-time rotating flavor for Blue Bell, meaning it can be hard to find year-round, it tends to sell out quickly as fans stock up their freezers.

If you want to get your hands on it, you'd better act quickly because once it's gone, it's gone... until the next time it makes a surprise appearance, of course.

If your luck has run out, don't worry, Blue Bell has plenty of delicious flavors to scoop into this season, including its latest releases that are perfect for spring: Brookie À La Mode flavor (combining three desserts into one) and Honey Vanilla.

Politician Demands TSA Lift Controversial Policy, Calling It a 'Reckless' Risk

Fri, 04/03/2026 - 12:53pm

If you’ve traveled through a U.S. airport in the past year, you’ve probably noticed something new at the security checkpoint: you can walk through the scanner with your shoes still on your feet. For many of us, that felt like a small victory, a minor convenience gain in an experience that otherwise requires patience, patience, and even more patience.

But in April 2026, that little change had turned into a big political and security issue, according to U.S. senator Tammy Duckworth, whoCBS News reports is now publicly challenging the Transportation Security Administration’s decision, calling the shoes‑on policy a “reckless act that may be placing the flying public at risk.”

Adventure starts with a click—sign up for our newsletter for travel tips and stories.

How We Got Here: Shoes On Instead of Shoes Off

For nearly two decades, most air travelers were required to remove their shoes before passing through TSA security checkpoints. That rule was born from the infamous “shoe bomber” incident in 2001, when a terrorist attempted to detonate explosives hidden in his footwear on a U.S.‑bound flight.

On July 8, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security under then‑Secretary Kristi Noem ended the mandatory shoe removal requirement for most travelers nationwide. The agency announced that passengers could now keep their shoes on in most cases, saying it would shorten lines, improve traveler comfort, and that updated scanning technology would be just as effective.

Related: Is the Rumor That TSA Is Requiring All Travelers To Use Clear Carry-on Bags by Summer Real?

What the Watchdog Found: A Security Red Flag

According to the CBS News report based on internal documents and interviews, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducted a classified ‘red team’ audit in late 2025 to evaluate how effective TSA screening was nationwide. In those tests, investigators tried to sneak simulated threats past screeners to identify gaps.

That audit reportedly found serious vulnerabilities in certain TSA technologies, including the very scanners that are supposed to see through footwear, per Travel Noire. One key finding was that some scanners simply cannot effectively detect threats concealed in shoes.

One result was a rare ‘Seven‑Day Letter’ issued to DHS leadership, signaling that the issue was urgent and needed quick corrective action. However, internally, the findings were restricted, shared with only a tiny group of officials, and never formally responded to by TSA within the required timeframe. That means no official plan was submitted by TSA outlining how or when the concerns would be remedied.

Senator Tammy Duckworth Challenges TSA Policy

According to CBS, on April 3, 2026, Senator Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat from Illinois and the ranking member of the Senate subcommittee overseeing aviation, publicly demanded a reversal of the shoes-on policy. In her letter to acting TSA administrator Nguyen McNeill, she called the rule “reckless and dangerous” and argued that continuing it in light of the audit results betrayed TSA’s mission to protect passengers.

Duckworth also pointed out that TSA may have even violated federal requirements by missing a legally mandated deadline to respond to the inspector general’s findings. The law typically requires agencies to issue a “management decision” about audit recommendations within 90 days of receiving them. Duckworth wrote that by failing to do so, the agency undermined both public confidence and federal oversight.

She didn’t hold back in her criticism of the former DHS secretary’s decision to eliminate mandatory shoe removal, suggesting that political convenience may have overtaken safety concerns. As she put it in her letter, allowing known vulnerabilities to persist without corrective action is “unacceptable” in an environment where lives could be at stake.

Why This Matters to Travelers

So what does this mean when you’re heading out to your next flight?

Security Is Still (Mostly) the Same for Now

Despite the debate and political pressure, there has been no immediate change to the policy. Travelers are still generally allowed to keep their shoes on at TSA checkpoints unless additional screening is necessary. There is no official rollback of the shoes‑on rule yet, per CBS reporting.

Security Is Not One Size Fits All

Even with shoes on, you may still be asked to remove footwear if there’s an alert, a random check, or if the scanner flags something. Policies may vary slightly by airport, by machine type, or by the discretion of individual officers, as reported by CBS News.

Traveler Confidence and Clarity Are Part of the Experience

For now, the safest bet for travelers is to familiarize themselves with the official TSA rules, arrive at the airport early, and allow extra time if they expect any special screening. Policy fights in Washington may shape future security, but until they do, it’s up to each of us to navigate the system as it stands.

Stay in the loop with fresh travel stories and updates—subscribe to our newsletter.

Looking Ahead: What Could Change Next

Senator Duckworth’s letter marks the first direct call from Congress to rescind the shoes‑on policy. From here, lawmakers could push hearings, request more oversight documentation, or require TSA to justify the change more fully.

Whether that leads to reinstating shoe removal or tweaking how scanners are deployed remains to be seen. For travelers, this debate underscores a bigger point: security procedures are not static. They evolve with technology, threat assessments, and public policy decisions.
