After 35 Years, Kay Scarpetta Is Finally on TV: Here's What Book Fans Need to Know
If you've spent any part of the last three decades with a Patricia Cornwell novel in your hands, you already know Kay Scarpetta. The brilliant, meticulous forensic pathologist who speaks for the dead, outsmarts the men who underestimate her, and never, ever lets a case go cold. She has been a fixture of the bestseller list since 1990. She has sold more than 120 million copies worldwide. And she has, somehow, never made it to the screen. Until now.
Scarpetta premiered on Prime Video on March 11, 2026, starring Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman in the title role. The supporting cast alone is enough to lift euebrows: Jamie Lee Curtis plays Kay's sisterDorothy Farinelli, Bobby Cannavale is former detective Pete Marino, Simon Baker is FBI profiler Benton Wesley, and Ariana DeBose plays Kay's tech-savvy niece Lucy Farinelli Watson.
So what's the show actually about?
The series unfolds across two timelines, following Kay Scarpetta from her beginnings as chief medical examiner in the late 1990s through to her present-day return to her hometown, where she resumes her former position while investigating a grisly murder. As she pursues justice, she must navigate complicated relationships, including the fraught dynamic with her sister Dorothy, confront long-held grudges, and face secrets that threaten to unravel everything she has built.
For book fans, the dual-timeline structure should feel familiar in spirit if not in exact detail. The present-day storyline draws from Cornwell's novel Autopsy, in which Scarpetta returns to Virginia as chief medical examiner and gets pulled into a disturbing case after a woman's body is found by railroad tracks. The past timeline follows the storyline from Postmortem, the very first Scarpetta novel, in which she works a serial killer case that puts her own life in danger.
A note for purists
This marks the first time the Scarpetta character has ever made the transition from page to screen. This is despite numerous prior attempts, including a brief association with Demi Moore in 1992 and Angelina Jolie contemplating a big-screen franchise in 2009. The show has been decades in the making, and Cornwell herself is on board. She serves as an executive producer, and even has a cameo in the first episode as the official swearing Kay in as chief medical examiner.
That said, book fans should know going in that this adaptation takes liberties. The reviews have been divided. The series holds a 60% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 45% audience score, with some critics finding it overly melodramatic and others calling it a worthy if imperfect debut for the character. Audiences, however, have voted with their remote controls. Scarpetta is currently the number one most-watched show on Prime Video in the United States, and has remained in the global Top 10 since its debut.
The cast chemistry is the thing
Whatever you make of the plotting, the pairing of Kidman and Curtis seems genuinely unlike anything on television right now. Curtis transforms her look entirely for the role, trading her signature white pixie cut for a glamorous blonde wig, making her look like a different person. The sister dynamic between Dorothy and Kay is the emotional driver of the show, which will likely sound familiar for anyone who remembers how richly Cornwell wrote that relationship.
Season two is already in production as of March 31, 2026, so wherever you love or hate this first season, Scarpetta is not going anywhere.
All eight episodes of Season 1 are streaming now on Prime Video.
The '70s Flash Gordon Now & Later Collab Is the Greatest Forgotten Piece of Candy History
The 1970s candy years were a decade of teeth-shattering ambition. Long before the era of artisanal gummies and air-puffed snacks, there was the Now & Later. It was a beloved candy that required a commitment, an undertaking from your molars to endure a brick-hard square until, eventually, it yielded.
But even the candy aisle needs a bit of stardust.
Buried deep within the Ferrara Corporate Archive, a place that must smell like a mix of sugar and childhood memories, is the evidence of a strange but cool collision. The Phoenix Candy Company, the original Brooklyn-born muscle behind the chew, decided that their local hero needed a cosmic upgrade. They tapped Flash Gordon.
The 1974 Flash Gordon T-Shirt: A Prize Worth the CavitiesIn a move that feels like a precursor to modern drop culture, the company launched a limited-time blitz. This was before digital codes or QR hacks; it was the era of the mail-away.
The deal was easy enough for children to remember: eat enough candy to risk a dental emergency, collect the proof, and send away for the Now & Later t-shirt. To a kid in 1974, that shirt was a badge of honor. "The limited time offer included Now & Later candy, Flash Gordon prizes and an opportunity to send in for a Now & Later t-shirt," the Now & Later archives confirm.

Imagine the scene at a Brooklyn stoop: a pack of kids, jaws locked in a battle with a grape-flavored square, waiting for the mailman to deliver a piece of the planet Mongo. It was a time when Flash Gordon prizes were the ultimate currency of the playground.
Inside the Phoenix Candy Companyâs Brooklyn-to-Mongo PipelineThe Phoenix Candy Company wasn't trying to be subtle. They were a scrappy outfit that understood a truth of the seventies: everything was better with a space hero. "The Phoenix Candy Company (Now & Laterâs original parent company) partnered with comic strip characters in the 1970s like Flash Gordon to promote its candies, including Now & Later," a spokesperson said in a statement. Flash Gordon, with his blonde tuft of hair and intergalactic swagger, was the perfect mascot for a candy that refused to be eaten quickly. You didnât just eat a Now & Later; you survived it.
Finding Rare 1970s Now & Later Memorabilia in the Ferrara ArchiveWhat remains of this partnership are the memories. The grain of the vintage photos in the Ferrara archive tells a story of a specific American moment, when Brooklyn manufacturing and sci-fi fantasy shook hands.
Those t-shirts are off the shelves now. They are likely sitting in the back of a cedar chest in a Queens basement or being worn by an original ownerâs grandchild who has no idea they're wearing a piece of confectionery history. But the memory of that sugar-induced high persists.
Looking back at the Flash Gordon era of Now & Laters reminds us of a time when flavor was earned, and the best things in life required a three-week wait for the post office to deliver your prize. It was a sweet, slightly dangerous time to be a kid with a nickel in your pocket and a hero in the stars.
This No. 1 Hit From 1969 Has One of Rockâs Most Recognizable Drum Riffs â And It Was Improvised
Few opening drum riffs in rock history stop you in your tracks quite like the one on The Beatles "Come Together." But what most fans don't know is that Ringo Starrhad never played it before that exact moment in the studio.
Appearing on Dana Carvey and David Spade'sFly on the Wall podcast, Starr revealed how the now-legendary riff came to be. "John was sort of sitting over there on the floor and he had the guitar," Starr recalled. "And so I just sort of wentââbobity, bobbity, bobbity, bobbity.â"
John Lennon's reaction was immediate. "He goes, 'Oh. Oh yeah,'" Ringo said, acting out the moment with delight. And that was it. No second takes and no grand plan. Just a drummer following his instincts and accidentally pulling together one of the most iconic songs in the process.Â
Released as the opening track on Abbey Road in 1969, "Come Together" became a massive commercial success, spending 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching No. 1.It remains the second-longest charting No. 1 Beatles hit of all time, behind only "Hey Jude."The song has since been covered by everyone from Aerosmith to Michael Jackson, cementing its place in rock history.
For Starr, that instinct has always been the whole point. "The two things I'm blessed with is that I don't play a lot," he told Carvey and Spade. "I keep good time. It's all in here." He even admitted he can't replicate his own fillsâevery performance is emotional and in the moment, making each one essentially a one-of-a-kind fingerprint.
Starr, now 85, is showing no signs of slowing down. His new albumLong Long Road, due out April 24, is his second consecutive collaboration with producer T Bone Burnett, following 2025's Look Up, which topped both the Country and Americana charts in the U.K. The 10-track record was cut between studios in Nashville and Los Angeles and features an impressive roster of guests including Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, and St. Vincent, with first single "It's Been Too Longâ already out now.
"I'm blessed to have T Bone in my life right now," Starr said previously in a statement. "I like to say sometimes I make the right movesâone of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone."Â
Michael Strahan's Surprising Confession About His Daughter's Cancer Documentary
Michael Strahan is opening up about a deeply personal topic, and his honesty is resonating.
During an appearance on Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast, Strahan, 54, revealed that he has never watched the documentary about his daughterâs cancer journey.
"Honestly⌠Iâve never watched it," he admitted. "I lived it⌠itâs too hard to watch."
The documentary, Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahanâs Fight Against Cancer, follows his daughter Isabellaâs battle with brain cancer and her decision to document the experience to help others facing similar diagnoses. The emotional special offers an intimate look at her treatment, resilience and recovery, and is available to stream on Hulu.
While Strahan hasnât been able to watch the documentary himself, his daughterâs decision to tell her story continues to have a powerful impact, helping to raise awareness and support others facing similar battles.
"Being there every day and seeing it every day⌠that is the one project that I said, 'Hand it to the team. 'This is my babyâtake care of my babyâbut I canât be involved in it daily and look at this.' It was tough."
The former NFL star also shared how difficult it was to balance his public-facing career with what was happening behind the scenes at home.
"It was hard going to work smiling⌠knowing what was happening at home," he said.
His candid comments offer a glimpse into the emotional weight many families carry during serious health challenges, especially when those experiences are shared publicly.

âOutlanderâ Villain Kieran Bew Says Cunningham Actually 'Admires' Jamie (Exclusive)
On this weekâs âSend for the Devilâ episode of Outlander, Captain Charles Cunningham (Kieran Bew) hatches a plot to kidnap Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and take him to Captain Ferguson of the Kingâs army to be tried and hanged as a traitor and then take over command of Fraserâs Ridge.
It is a Machiavellian scheme at its best, producing the best episode of Outlander so far this season, in my opinion, and hate-watching Cunningham is a big part of it. Heâs doing a great job playing the villain in the story.
âI am so glad to hear that,â Bew tells Parade when itâs mentioned. âTo be fair, people adore Jamie and Sam. So that is great because itâs something to play against and with.â
In the story, Cunningham doesnât hate Jamie. Rather, he believes that Jamie is on the wrong side of the Revolutionary War. And as a Loyalist, he sees taking him down and winning the Ridge for the King as his duty.
âI think he admires Jamie Fraser,â Bew says. âHe has a different point of view, but I think he admires his strengths, and I think he would like to be able to use and manipulate those strengths. I don't think that he necessarily comes down to just wanting to take him out because he disagrees with his point of view. I think he's a true Tory. I think he survived that way, and he's very arrogant as well. I think he thinks he could probably control him and manipulate him however he wants, and I think he quite likes him because he's a very likable guy.â
Kieran Bew, Sam HeughanCourtesy: STARZ
But Cunningham also believes he has an ace up his sleeve. When his son died in battle, Cunningham has said that his son came to him and told him that he would see him again in seven years, so Cunningham believes he canât die before then, so he is willing to take chances a normal man might not.
Related:Outlander Author Diana Gabaldon Reveals the Dark Twist She Wishes the Show Didnât Cut (Exclusive)
âHe believes heâs impervious, which gives him an extra arrogance on top of having the King's money, the King's blessing, the King's orders, and the King's backing, which he genuinely thinks is the right direction for the good of the people at Fraserâs Ridge,â Bew continues. âThere's an arrogance to his politicking and his manipulation across the board, but this extra thing of this experience that he's had, and I did examine it, and wonder, âIs it genuine?â I think if he genuinely had an experience where he believed this happened, if he hallucinated because he was in battle, he still thinks it's real.â
That invulnerability gives Cunningham a swagger and a smarm that makes it easy for anyone on Jamieâs side to dislike the Captain. It doesnât help that heâs reached heights in his life â his rank of Captain, for instance â so he feels justified in trying to take over the Ridge. And heâs really shocked when his plan doesnât work â warned ahead of time, Jamie planned a counter offensive â and Cunningham winds up with a bullet in his spine and may be paralyzed for life.
Related:Sam Heughan Reflects on How âOutlanderâ Has Changed Everything (Exclusive)
He turns to Jamie and says, âHow did you know?â To which Jamie responds, âItâs my Ridge.â
âI think he believes it was the right thing,â Bew says. âI think in a short time, he would come around, trying to 'Machiavelli' another angle to get what he wants. He's paralyzed, he's not out of the game and I think that that's the kind of person he is.â
Sam HeughanCourtesy: STARZ
What may have surprised him, because it might not be something Cunningham would do is when Jamie takes him to Claire (CaitrĂona Balfe) to save his life when heâs lying on the ground bleeding.
âI think he knows Jamie is a good guy, an honorable guy, and I think he knows that he can use that and manipulate that,â Bew says. âThat's why in Episode 3, he convinces him to go and look at the people and says, âYou're going to have to shift your point of view' [meaning the majority of the people on the Ridge are Loyalists], but he's trying to work with Jamie. He wants to use Jamieâs strength â some of the strengths are weaknesses â because he's being very kind, but I think he is also touched by that. I think he's affected by him. I think he means it when he says, âThis was never the plan. Plans change.ââ
In Diana Gabaldonâs novel, Cunninghamâs mother takes him back to England. Weâll have to wait to see if thatâs what happens on the TV series or if Cunningham stays around to try to cause more mischief.
Outlander will air new episodes each Friday at midnight ET on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms; and at 8 p.m. ET/PT/7 Central on the linear network.

Mel B Has Eyebrow-raising Response To Potential Spice Girls Doc: 'Not Everybody Wants To Be Honest'
When it comes to documentary cameras following the Spice Girls nearly three decades since their music hit first the radio waves, Melanie Brown, known as Mel B, said she's not sure if her bandmates would "Wannabe" involved.
"I think weâve all been asked and were all thinking about it at some point," she told Hello! in an exclusive interview. "But it has to be done in the right way, and it has to be honestâand not everybody wants to be honest."
The Spice Girls, which along with Mel B, includes Mel C,Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell, who were at the height of their fame in the mid-to-late 90s, have reunited throughout the years, most recently for a UK tour 2019. When asked if the group will be coming together again for a 30th anniversary tour as rumors have speculated, Brown shut them down.
âI can tell you itâs not happening,â she said. âIf it does, itâll be a shock to me, letâs put it that way. When I look at that [2019 tour] and at the feeling it gave me, I was in my element, but there comes a time...Iâm 50."
"You canât be nagging everyone to go on tour if they donât want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50," she added.
Photo by Mondadori Portfolio on Getty Images
Besides, when it comes to reuniting everyone has to be on board, a fact that Brown said she was unsure of.
âI honestly don't know," she said, adding that while she loves the group she doesn't think she'd be up for performing.
"Iâve got a lot of respect and love for those girls," she said. "I wouldnât be sitting here if it wasnât for me being part of the Spice Girls. Theyâve done a lot for me as a person and in my life. Iâve got fond memories, but I donât know if I would want to go back up on stage.â
Mel C, for her part, said on The Kelly Clarkson Show last year that she "would be there tomorrow, obviously,â if a reunion tour were to come about.
While the "Spice Up Your Life" singers have gone on to pursue their own careers, as Beckham is at the helm of her synonymous fashion line and Mel C continues to enjoy a solo music career, Mel B emphasized that the group is still very much connected.
"I canât even begin to tell you what our bond is, itâs just something that will always be there," she said. "Weâre like family; our umbilical cords are all tied together."

This Gorgeous 4-Piece $10 Bowl Set at Hobby Lobby Is Bursting With Spring Style
There's something about warmer weather that makes you suddenly crave lighter fare, like a vibrant spring salad or a bright, zippy ceviche. Not that we'll ever turn down a heaping plate of homemade lasagna, but what we really want is an endless supply of citrus-roasted cod with herby pearl couscous and several glasses of sauvignon blanc with an embarrassing amount of sliced jalapeĂąos chucked in. You get it. It's like a switch goes off and suddenly short rib shepherd's pie sounds like it would put us into a food comaâand not in a good way.Â
Regardless of what you crave once spring has sprung, thoughâwhether it's a cooling bowl of gazpacho or something hearty like shrimp and gritsâthe most important thing to consider is the actual dish you plan to serve it in. Although you can eat whatever you want, your choice in serveware is a non-negotiable. You could go for something plain and expected that allows your food to be the star of the show, or you could take a chance on something a little more kitchsy that'll bring some extra personality to your tablescape.Â

King Charles Reportedly Questioned His Feelings For Princess Diana Ahead of Their Wedding: Author
King Charles reportedly questioned his true feelings for Princess Diana ahead of their wedding, claims a royal author.
Hugo Vickers, author of Queen Elizabeth II, discussed this titular moment in Diana and Charles' relationship. The Daily Mail serialized the book, sharing a statement made by Charles that exposed his doubts about his relationship with Diana.
During Ascot week, ahead of the royal wedding, Prince Charles reportedly asked this question to a person seated next to him. "Do you think you can fall in love after youâre married? I am not sure that I can handle this.â

However, Charles was reportedly not the only one expressing relationship doubts. Diana believed her fiancĂŠ didn't give their relationship the proper care and attention in the months leading up to their July 1981 wedding.
In February 2024, PEOPLE Magazine published an excerpt from Ingrid Seward's My Mother And I, published by the Daily Mail. The author shared her thoughts on the couple's relationship issues.
Seward wrote that in June 1981, "Diana was in despair. Her fiancĂŠ had been away in America for most of the previous week, yet he clearly had no desire to dance with her. Feeling emotionally drained, she threw herself into dancing frantically with one man after another â and finally just dancing by herself."

The book claimed that Diana was "distraught, flustered, angry, and had no intention of ever going back. As far as Diana was concerned, the royal wedding was off."
"But when she explained her decision to her father, Earl Spencer, he was appalled. After calming her down, he pointed out it would be an act of gross discourtesy to break off her engagement to the future king so close to the wedding."
Princess Diana and King Charles married on July 29, 1981. They were married until August 1996, when they were officially granted a divorce.

These 4 Zodiac Signs Are The Most Dangerous When They're Angry
Astrologers say that every zodiac sign has its own unique traits and personality quirks, especially when it comes to dealing with frustration, annoyance, or outright irritation. By looking at each sign's ruling planet, element, and modality, we can get a better idea of how they might react when theyâre triggered. So, which zodiac signs tend to express anger in the most intense way? Keep reading to find out which signs might be the most "dangerous" when theyâre upsetâyou definitely want to think twice before getting on their bad side!
LEARN MORE:
Which Zodiac Signs Can Be Scary or "Dangerous" When Upset?Check for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs for pro insights.
AriesÂAries is the first sign of the zodiac, and they often act impulsively without considering the consequences. Minor issues can quickly make an Aries grumpy, but they tend not to hold onto those feelings for long. They express their feelings and move on with their day.
Due to their fiery nature, Aries can experience rapid shifts in their emotions, filled with intensity and passion. They are ruled by Mars after all, the planet associated with warrior-like strength, motivation, and passion.
Engaging with an Aries can feel like battling an opponent you wonât easily defeat. Aries are direct and straightforward, not one to mince words. However, worth noting that an Aries will recognize their role in a situation and apologize when necessary. They tend to resolve conflicts as quickly as they become upset. While they may initially react strongly when challenged, they're skilled at strategic conflict resolution. Defending themselves at the moment is simply part of their nature.
CURIOUS?: Your '70s Hit Song, Based on Your Birth Month
ScorpioÂIf you poke a bear, you'll get in trouble. The same applies to Scorpio. This water sign has venomous stingers, so when you push them to the limit, no holds barred! Not only will an upset Scorpio showcase intense brooding, but they're also known to seek revenge when a major injustice has struck, which may be the most nerve-racking part of upsetting them.
On one hand, they might be forgiving, but a day later, after the scorpion reprocesses the situation and mulls over it again and again, they can easily revert to a frustrated outlook. After all, its planetary rulers are combative Mars, the planet of fierce willpower, and destructive Pluto, who destroys to rebuild.
Scorpios won't stab you in the back; they'll do it in the front, with you watching and knowing. To say they have tempers is an understatement. There is a reason why most other signs are afraid of them on a bad day. If you stay on their good side, great for you. If not, you'd better hit the ground running!
RELATE?: People Born on These 3 Dates Only Get More Magnetic As They Age
CapricornÂCapricorns don't play games, so when someone tries to stir the pot and creates theatrical moments in their lives, they can build up anger. When this happens, they often assert themselves instinctively and then quickly emotionally disconnect from the person.
Capricorn is known to work hard. They have so much going on in their daily lives that they feel too overwhelmed to take on anything additionally intense at home (unless it's in the bedroom, wink, wink).
This earth sign likes to work hard and play hard. Bickering on their time off? It begins to feel like another chore. Capricorns often silently feel that they must win at any cost. Even though the sea goat doesn't often participate in drama, they will end it with a few cutting words or by blocking someone entirely from their lives.
That said, they don't often look back in anger, only with minimal annoyance if triggered again. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the authority planet. Do you really want to irritate Daddy? Their punishment can be severe. Words of advice: Stay in your lane and never anger a Capricorn.Â
FUN!: Which National Park Mirrors Your Soul, Based on Your Birth Month
PiscesÂPisces cast their magnetic spells in ways that can manipulate the minds of others. Although the enigmatic zodiac sign has a good reputation for controlling their anger, they will swim away and never look back. What's worse than never getting closure or having a confrontation? Getting nothing.
This water sign prefers to avoid messiness. They'll ghost when upset because they aren't great at expressing anger. Their anger often turns into playing games and gossip on the DL. Yes, planting the seeds of rumors or doubt in others' minds counts as revenge. The way they get even when aggravated is by causing the same amount of frustration and drama on the person who disturbed their peace.
How do they get away with it? Confusing responses, not responding, or passing the blame to others are their tells. Be careful! An angry Pisces appears innocent. On the inside, they're not feeling so sweet.

At the end, however, the narrator reveals that he is Jesus Christ. McGraw sings:
"My name is Jesus /I live in Galilee /There's an angry crowd right now coming after me /You've never seen such fear /You've never seen such hate /And if I'm right, before tonight, I will be betrayed / With a kiss from another man / That's how I'll know I am different."

Nancy Guthrie Update: FBI Pursuing 'Best Lead' in the Case (Report)
The FBI is zeroing in on what it believes could be the most promising lead yet in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, according to a new report, as the case enters its third month. On a recent episode of Crime Stories With Nancy Grace, the latest developments in the case were discussed.
During the episode, Grace said that authorities are working their "best lead" in the case, which has been ongoing since Sunday, Feb. 1.
âMany people believe that Bitcoin cannot be traced, and tonight, we are learning the FBI believes thatâs their best lead on who took Miss Guthrie," Grace said, referring to the Bitcoin ransom requests that were sent to the family early on in the investigation.
During the episode, Grace spoke with Ari Redbord, the Global Head of Policy at TRM Labs, who discussed how the Bitcoin address set upâpresumably by the people responsible for Guthrie's disappearanceâcan be used to aid in the investigation.
"Anytime that thereâs a cryptocurrency address involved in a case, itâs an immediate lead,â Redbord said. âAnd what most people donât understand about cryptocurrency is, every transaction occurs on a public blockchain, particularly Bitcoin."
"Meaning, every transaction is traceable, trackable, and immutable. In other words, itâs there forever. In other words, crypto is the ultimate crime scene," he added.
Back in February, Parade interviewed Tony Yazbeck, co-founder of The Bitcoin Way, for some insight into Bitcoin as it relates to the Guthrie case.
âAsking for ransom in Bitcoin lets the person demanding payment avoid banks, chargebacks, and identity checks that normally come with wire transfers or cards. It also works across borders instantly, so they do not have to deal with exchange rates or international banking rules,â Yazbeck explains.
âAnother big factor is that Bitcoin feels anonymous to most people, which gives the person making the demand confidence that they are harder to identify and stop," he added.

Royal Caribbean Cancels Over 20 Cruises For 2027
There's nothing worse than receiving that unexpected message from your selected cruise brand informing you that your scheduled voyage has been canceled.
Sadly, such a fate has fallen on hundreds of travelers slated to sail aboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, as revealed in a recent story by both People magazine and TravelPulse.
While this news might prove understandably frustrating for some travelers who previously set their cruise with Royal Caribbean, the cruise line informed passengers that the cancelation was due to recent redeployment changes, allowing Freedom of the Seas to make increased demands for Southampton sailings.
"Deployment planning is dynamic and regularly reviewed based on demand, capacity requirements, and broader fleet considerations. As part of this process, weâve made the decision to redeploy Freedom of the Seas to Southampton in 2027," the cruise line informed passengers. "Guests and travel partners are being contacted directly with details about their sailings and available options."
The planned cruises included several Caribbean voyages from May into September 2027. Any guests affected by the cancelation are being offered an alternative four-night cruise on the Wonder of the Seas out of Miami, with other optional sailings including a five-night Western Caribbean cruise on the Adventure of the Seas or a three-night cruise to the Bahamas on the Jewel of the Seas.
The unexpected change in Royal Caribbean's planned sailings come only a short time after Carnival similarly announced the cancelation of 11 scheduled cruises later this year. The cruises were originally expected to take place aboard the Carnival Firenze in fall 2026.
âDue to changes to itinerary plans, we have cancelled sailings aboard Carnival Firenze scheduled between October 12, 2026, and November 16, 2026,â a spokesperson for the cruise line told People at the time.
âWe have apologized to our impacted guests and are offering them the option to rebook another Carnival cruise with their cruise fare protected on a comparable sailing in similar accommodations, along with an onboard credit,â Carnival continued.
Tokyo DisneySea Strips $2 Billion Rapunzel Attraction After Viral Bird Attack
The window is dark and the golden hair is gone. Visitors drifting through the Tangled forest at Tokyo DisneySea this morning found the centerpiece of the parkâs newest land missing. Rapunzel has been hauled out of her tower, leaving a hole in the skyline of the $2 billion Fantasy Springs expansion.
What brought down Rapunzel was a pair of neighborhood crows with an eye for high-end nesting material, not a mechanical glitch.
The trouble started earlier this week when guests filmed a scene that looked less like a fairy tale and more like a nature documentary gone wrong. A couple of local crows landed on the towerâs ledge and began systematically ripping chunks of hair out of the animatronicâs head.
The birds were brutal. They didn't care about the singing or the expensive engineering, they wanted that fiber for their nests. While the figure swayed and performed its programmed sequence, the crows tugged and tore at the scalp, leaving the Princess looking ragged and definitely not camera-ready.
After the video went viral, the park had seen enough. New footage from the ground shows the tower window completely empty. Disney didn't tuck the hair away; they yanked the entire figure.
View this post on InstagramThe Lantern Festival boat ride is the crown jewel of the park's new expansion, but right now, the climax of the trip is a bit of a letdown. Visitors float toward the tower expecting the big reveal, only to find the shutters open to a vacant room.
Itâs unknown how long Rapunzel will be out of commission. Replacing seventy feet of animatronic-grade hair isn't a quick fix. Technicians have to re-thread the fibers and ensure the crows can't treat the tower like a local hardware store again.

— á´_á´á´Ęá´_á´ á´á´_Ęá´ĘĘ (@k_maru_dau_baby) April 1, 2026Tokyoâs crows are famously smart and aggressive. Theyâve spent years outsmarting city planners and trash collectors, and it seems theyâve finally found a way to bridge the gap into Fantasy Springs. Disney has to figure out how to keep the birds off the ledge without ruining the look of the 17th-century masonry.
For now, the ride stays open. The music still plays, and the lanterns still glow over the water. But the girl in the window is MIA, proving that even a billion-dollar budget canât always hold its own against a few birds looking for a place to sleep. If you're heading to the park to see the hidden princess, you'll find sheâs actually tucked away this time.
KATSEYE Star Addresses Temporary Hiatus After Grammy Nomination
Manon, one of the Grammy-nominated stars of KATSEYE, spoke out after her abrupt hiatus announcement last month, addressing fans via Weverse DMs.
The singer began by assuring fans of her well-being. "Iâm healthy, Iâm okay, and Iâm taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we donât fully control, but Iâm trusting the bigger picture,â said Manon.
Despite growing rumors that her departure was due to friction within the group or with the label, Manon revealed she is still in contact and is having "positive conversations" with her management, HYBE and Geffen Records.

"HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,â she added.
The rising pop group announced Manon's temporary departure on February 20, just weeks after they performed at the 68th annual Grammy Awards, where they were nominated for Best New Artist. The official statement followed rising fan suspicion after Manon was omitted from several promotional materials.
The message revealed the decision stemmed from mental health considerations, with KATSEYE members assuring fans they will continue to support one another through the next phases.
"After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,â the notice read. âWe fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right. Thank you to our EYEKONS for your continued love, patience, and understanding.â
As of Friday, no additional comments from remaining KATSEYE members have been made.

This Oscar-Nominated Drama Film Ranked No. 1 'Best Movie of 1999'
When it comes to films, 1999 was a considerably good year with the release of a multitude of future cult classics across various genres. Among a long list of worthy contenders, there's one movie that was tagged as being the best release of the year and starred an impressive ensemble cast.
Rolling Stone's list of the 'Best Movies of 1999' includes some no-brainers likeKeanu Reeves' blockbuster hit The Matrix and the quirky yet bizarre comedy Being John Malkovich. The Top 5 also includes The Insider starring Al Pacinoand Sofia Coppola's debut feature, The Virgin Suicides.
Taking the No. 1 spot is the American drama film, Magnolia, by Paul Thomas Anderson. It has an impressive ensemble cast starring Jeremy Blackman, Tom Cruise, Melinda Dillon, Philip Baker Hall, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ricky Jay, William H. Macy, Alfred Molina, Julianne Moore, John C. Reilly, and Melora Walters. Legendary actor Jason Nelson Robards Jr. also starred in the film as his last role before his death in December 2000.
Magnolia interconnects the lives of multiple characters over the course of a single day in the San Fernando Valley. Their storylines deal with regret, loneliness, and the search for forgiveness, as the characters' stories collide in unexpected ways. It all leads to an unforgettable and surreal ending climax.

"It was gloriously messy, magnificently obsessive and excessive, and wore its emotions not just on its sleeve but its whole jacket. His attempt to weave disparate threads into a tapestry depicting society having a collective nervous breakdown â asked by the studio head about balancing six storylines, Anderson corrected him by saying, 'Iâm trying to make one story' â was still expansive enough to encompass love, death, loneliness, trauma, addiction, forgiveness, magical realism, game shows, and toxic masculinity before it had a name," said Rolling Stone.
The film was also inspired by the music of '80s pop icon Aimee Mann, who also contributed songs for the main soundtrack. Her song, "Save Me," ended up being nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song and a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal. Magnolia was a moderate box office success, having made $48.4 million against its $37 million budget. It was a success among critics and led Cruise to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and he later won a Golden Globe.
