Korn has also released a number of other compilation albums, including the 2006 live album Live & Rare, and 2011's The Essential Korn.

Legendary '70s Singer Details Scary Pneumonia Complications During Lung Cancer Battle

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 10:07am

Barry Manilow has provided a new update on his battle against Stage 1 lung cancer during an upcoming interview with Good Morning America.

The legendary singer shared the news of his diagnosis in December, which was followed by surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his lung later that month.

“I’m doing good,” Manilow told Chris Connelly, adding some new details about his recovery.

“It took longer than I thought it was going to take to get past this lung cancer thing,” he explained. "I didn’t know about pneumonia. I was in [the] ICU for seven days because they couldn’t grasp this pneumonia that was just about killing me."

However, despite his health ordeal, Manilow admitted that he's "one of the lucky ones," during a March interview with PEOPLE.

“I’m one of the lucky ones; I don’t have to have chemo, radiation and all that stuff," he said.

As a result of his diagnosis, Manilow postponed his Las Vegas residency that was set to begin in February, but went on to move his shows in March and February as well on doctor's advice.

“Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I’m making great progress and look great! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off. He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. This means I won’t be able to return for our May shows at Westgate Las Vegas,” he wrote in an update shared to his official Facebook account on May 1.

His Las Vegas Residency is set to run through December 2026. Manilow's Farewell Arena tour has also had to reschedule numerous dates due to his cancer battle.

He is set to release his first new album in 15 years, What a Time, on June 5.

The full interview will air on GMA on Monday, June 1.

What Is Piper Rockelle Doing Now? Inside the Ex-Kidfluencer's Adult Life

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 10:02am

Piper Rockelle was just a child when her mother Tiffany Smith made her a YouTube star, and she still wasn't even old enough to vote when she was at the center of a lawsuit between fellow teen and tween influencers "The Squad" and her own mom.

The "Squad" members varied over time and included YouTubers and influencers Sophie Fergi, Hayden Haas, Symonne Harrison, Corinne Joy, Gavin Magnus, Jentzen Ramirez, Claire RockSmith and Sawyer Sharbino.

In 2022, 11 former members of the Squad sued Smith, alleging a litany of disturbing behavior—from emotional and physical abuse to sexual harassment—during their years filming for Rockelle's channel. YouTube demonetized Rockelle's channel after learning about the lawsuit. Smith denied every allegation and even countersued. The civil case quietly settled in October 2024 for a reported $1.85 million, with all parties disclaiming any liability. No criminal charges were ever filed against Smith.

Still, the story was far from over. While it didn't become major mainstream news at the time, Netflix's 2025 docuseries Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing turned it into a global story. The timing was striking: just months earlier, California had passed new laws to protect child influencers, setting aside a share of their earnings in a trust—proof the questions the doc raised were already reshaping the industry.

So where is Piper Rockelle now? Find out what was behind the lawsuit, who she's dating and what's going on in her life today.

What is Piper Rockelle's real name and age?

Piper's legal name is Piper Rockelle Smith. She turned 18 on August 21, 2025.

What is Piper Rockelle doing now?

Today, Rockelle is still creating content, though her focus is more on TikTok and OnlyFans than YouTube. She continues to stand by her mother.

What syndrome does Piper Rockelle have?

Rockelle has spoken openly about having dyslexia, a learning difference that complicates reading, writing and spelling. She has also struggled with disordered eating. In March 2026, she revealed on Instagram that she's recovered from two eating disorders.

Some viewers have also speculated that she may have "Stockholm syndrome"—a contested psychological concept describing emotional bonds a captive forms with a captor—in the context of her relationship with her mother. But the validity of Stockholm syndrome is debated within the field. Rockelle has never addressed it herself, and assuming a young person is "suffering" from an undiagnosed condition is both insensitive and irresponsible.

Is Piper Rockelle LGBTQ?

During a 2024 live, Piper openly spoke about her sexuality. "It's not like, in my plan to do," she said of dating a woman. "I've met amazing girls, I have a lot of great friends," she said. "But I really like boys. I haven't been with a lot of boys, but I like [boys]. But you never know what could happen!"

But that had changed by March 2026, when TMZ reported that she was openly dating fellow TikTok creator Madi:

That's a tough question because we don't know her spending or investing habits. Here's what we do know: At the height of her YouTube stardom, Rockelle reportedly made between $300,000 and $500,000 per month—including endorsement deals and streaming revenue. While working with the Squad, she brought home the bulk of that bacon, and before the Squad sued Smith, Rockelle made between $4.2 million and $7.5 million annually, according to the Los Angeles Times.

On January 1, 2026, she launched her OnlyFans account and reportedly made $3 million within her first 24 hours on the platform. “The amount of money I get every single day is so incredible and so unreal that I just want to try to make sure I don’t become numb to it,” she told The Guardian. “It feels like it’s a game.”

As of May 2026, she has not shared any content with nudity or sexual activity.

Who is Piper Rockelle's boyfriend?

She dated Gavin Magnus after meeting him on the set of his music video for "Crushin,'" which premiered in February 2019. However, their relationship was short-lived, Magnus alleged, because Smith was controlling and threatening—and, in part, because after Rockelle allegedly gave him a vape, Magnus's own parents thought it best to steer clear of her. He went as far as to describe their relationship as "abusive," noting that he wasn't allowed to hang out with anyone that Rockelle and Smith didn't approve.

After their split, Magnus says that Rockelle started a hashtag urging her own followers to unfollow Magnus, which cost him thousands of followers.

However, the pair eventually reconciled. As of April 2026, they are dating again.

‘I’m a Gastroenterologist—This Is the One Thing I Tell Every Patient With Bloating To Do Before Breakfast'

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:50am

Bloating is something you know you might have to deal with after a particularly big or greasy meal that’s washed down with soda or beer. But experiencing a bloated belly right when you wake up? What gives?

According to gastroenterologists we talked to, there are a few possible reasons for morning bloating. Dr. Ritu Nahar, MD, a gastroenterologist with Allied Digestive Health, says that a major one is eating a large meal late at night. Her pro tip: If you’re going to have a big meal, plan on eating it at least three hours before going to bed.

Dr. Nahar explains that consuming gas-producing foods (like cruciferous vegetables or beans) or foods you know you have an intolerance to (such as dairy or gluten) too soon before going to bed can also lead to morning bloat. If you have irritable bowel syndrome or regularly experience constipation, these are two other potential causes, she says. “In some cases, hormonal fluctuations or poor sleep can also contribute to bloating,” Dr. Nahar adds.

Pinpointing the root cause of your bloating is an important step in preventing morning bloating from happening again, but it’s still helpful to know what to do in the moment for immediate relief. What should you do in the morning if you feel bloated? Here’s what really works, according to gastroenterologists.

#1 Thing To Do Before Breakfast if You Have Bloating

If you wake up feeling bloated, Dr. Carmen Fong, MD, FACS, a colorectal surgeon and the chief medical officer of Bummed, recommends starting your day by drinking a big glass of water—a great morning habit to have even if you don’t experience bloating.

“Drinking water helps flush out toxins and sodium,” Dr. Fong says, explaining why this simple habit helps with bloating. While hot and cold water are both beneficial in this way, she explains that drinking hot water in particular can help jumpstart the digestive system, which can also help with morning bloating.

Related: I Ate Dinner at 5 PM for a Month—Here's What Happened to My Belly Bloat

Other Morning Habits That Can Help With Bloating

After you drink your water, both doctors recommend doing some form of gentle movement, such as stretching, yoga or a morning walk. “Light physical activity, such as a morning walk, can stimulate intestinal movement and help move gas through the digestive tract. Even 10 to 20 minutes of walking may help reduce bloating and improve digestion,” Dr. Nahar says.

A small scientific study published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology backs up the connection between light physical activity and bloating relief. Research also shows that going on a short walk after eating can help prevent bloating, so going on a post-meal walk is a helpful habit for preventing bloat from happening in the first place.

What To Eat for Breakfast When You Feel Bloated

Feeling hungry and bloated at the same time is tricky. You feel uncomfortably full, but you still need to eat something. In these moments, Dr. Fong recommends eating simple foods that don’t have a lot of ingredients, like overnight oats with berries. She explains that oats and berries settle the stomach and help with constipation, which is a primary cause of bloating.

“A simple, easy-to-digest breakfast is often best, such as plain yogurt, bananas, oatmeal and kiwi. These foods are generally gentle on the digestive system and may support healthy bowel function,” Dr. Fong adds, giving some other breakfast ideas. She says that kiwi, in particular, has been shown to help promote regularity in bowel movements.

Foods To Avoid When Dealing With Morning Bloating

Similarly to how some breakfast foods can help relieve bloating, there are some foods that can make it worse. Both doctors say to steer clear of any foods you know you are intolerant or sensitive to, like dairy or gluten. Beyond that, Dr. Nahar says that artificial sweeteners (which can be found in some flavored oatmeals, flavored yogurts and sweet coffee drinks) can increase gas production and make bloating worse.

In terms of morning beverages to pair with your breakfast that can help with bloating, Dr. Nahar notes that sipping on peppermint or ginger tea can be beneficial. “Peppermint may help relax intestinal muscles and reduce cramping, while ginger can support stomach emptying and reduce feelings of fullness,” she says. Dr. Fong adds that both of these teas are helpful for people with IBS, too.

Wondering if it’s still safe to drink your morning coffee? Both doctors say that coffee shouldn’t make bloating worse—as long as you aren’t drinking it instead of water.

While occasional morning bloating isn’t anything to lose sleep over, both doctors say that if it’s something you are experiencing regularly, it’s a good idea to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist so you can work together and get to the bottom of why it’s happening and what to do about it. After all, no one wants to go through life feeling bloated. But if it’s just a once-in-a-while occurrence, all of the tips the doctors shared here should work just fine.

1930 Classic Song Featured in the New ‘Spider-Noir’ Soundtrack Is Still Enchanting After 96 Years

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:46am

Spider-Noir, which premiered globally on Amazon Prime on May 27, has an incredible soundtrack filled with iconic songs. One of the most memorable in the series is performed by actress Li Jun Li, who sings a cover of “Dream a Little Dream of Me.”

This song, which was originally copyrighted in 1930, was first recorded by Ozzie Nelson. However, it gained the most popularity when it was covered by The Mamas & the Papas in 1968. Over the years, it was also recorded by Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Michael Bublé, and Ella Fitzgerald.

When speaking about the origin of the lyrics with Donald Kahn, the son of lyricist Gus Kahn, he told NPR, "Johnny Mercer, who was one of the really other great lyric writers, used to call my father the tune hog because my dad wrote with everybody and 'Dream a Little Dream' is a sterling example of it. My dad would get tunes from people and my mother would play the tunes for him and he would sit and grumble mostly. He always tried to keep his lyrics simple, but he also said that young men and women do not know how to say 'I love you' to one another so we say it for them in 32 bars.”

“Dream a Little Dream of Me” isn’t the only iconic tune on the Spider-Noir soundtrack. The series is filled with excellent music, thanks to composers Kris Bowers and Michael Dean Parsons.

Related: 1973 Classic Rock Song That Became a Massive Hit in the US Was Banned by the BBC

When speaking about the music in the show, Bowers told Variety, “Showrunner and executive producer Oren Uziel and the team trusted us to shape this world through its music, and we shared an enthusiasm for using clear, memorable melodies to carry character and story. For Michael and me, Spider-Noir was a rare chance to put everything we love about scoring to picture into a single show.”

Parsons added, “Spider-Noir is the kind of musical opportunity a composer dreams about. It gave us the chance to not only write music that is emotional and thematic, but also to freely blend genres and sounds that wouldn’t normally coexist. The more we leaned into these juxtapositions – combining noir and superhero sensibilities, then layering in experimental synthesizers, electric guitars, and other modern textures – the more natural it all felt within this unique world.”

Spider-Noir is a live-action series about Spider-Man that takes place during the Great Depression, starring Nicolas Cage. Li plays Cat Hardy, a nightclub singer. The entire first season is streaming now.

Iconic Marvel Star Denies Botox Rumors Behind His Youthful Look

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:43am

Paul Rudd is setting the record straight.

The Marvel actor appeared on the Therapuss podcast with host Jake Shane where he was asked about his ageless appearance and whether there was anything behind it.

"Are you vegan?" Shane asked, to which Rudd replied No. That led to a follow-up question from Shane, asking the actor, "So then why don't you age?"

"I do [age]," Rudd replied. "You're kind for saying that, but I really do."

From there, Shane asked the question many have wondered: Has Rudd gotten Botox?

"No. Look at my face," Rudd said, lifting his eyebrows.

This isn't the first time Rudd has been questioned over his youthful look, with Chris Evans even joking about it during a 2020 interview with Variety.

"Why don’t you age? Are you drinking baby blood," Evans asked.

" I most certainly age," Rudd replied.

Then, in a 2023 Interview with Men's Health, where Rudd was the cover star, he explained that part of it is getting eight hours of sleep each night.

"People ask me, 'Can you send me your meal plan? How many times a week do you work out? Do you drink? Do you eat carbs? Do you have a cheat day?' The most important part of training is sleep," Rudd said. "People will set their alarm and then sleep for four hours, and they’ll get up so that they can train. They’re doing themselves a disservice. If you can somehow get eight hours of sleep . . .””

He also added that when he wakes up, he has a cup of coffee and then immediately does cardio before eating anything.

Throughout his incredible career, Rudd has portrayed many iconic characters, including Scott Lang (AKA Ant-Man) for Marvel. His breakout role was as Josh in the hit movie Clueless, and he also played Mike Hannigan in the popular show "Friends." And in each role, it's hard to deny that Rudd looks like he's barely aged.

Angelina Pivarnick Miscarriage: Jersey Shore Star Opens Up About Pregnancy Loss

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:17am

Jersey Shore’sAngelina Pivarnick recently shared the heartbreaking news that she suffered a miscarriage on Thursday's episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The reality TV star previously revealed an unexpected (but very welcome) pregnancy on the show earlier in May.

On the May 28 episode, Pivarnick said, during a confessional, “I’m just not feeling myself.” She continued, “Some stuff’s happening with me and my pregnancy, and I don’t know what’s going on, and I don’t even know what to do.”

Pivarnick shared her concerns with castmate Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, saying, “I’m spotting.”  Sammi, who was also expecting at the time and had previously experienced a pregnancy loss, encouraged Pivarnick to get medical help ASAP, telling her friend, “I’m going to be honest with you, when I miscarried, like a chemical pregnancy, I was spotting right away, and then it like just happened.”

Giancola added, “I don’t want to think the worst, but for your own peace of mind, go to the ER.”

Fans have questioned whether Angelina had already lost the pregnancy. The show was filmed in 2025, and the Jersey Store star has kept mum about any baby news.

In contrast, co-star Sammi Giancola announced the birth of her first child, baby boy Vincent Keith May (with husband Justin May), last August. This left the show's viewers wondering, given that she had already revealed the pregnancy, if Pivarnick may have, in fact, lost the baby.

Angelina initially confirmed her pregnancy on the show, during Mike ‘The Situation Sorrentino's daughter Luna’s birthday bash. Angelina and Sammi went into the bathroom for Pavarnik to take a pregnancy test, which turned out to be positive. The reality TV star was shocked by the news and couldn't believe it, saying, "I did not think I was going to be able to get pregnant, but wow."

Along with her recent confession, the current episode of the show included a trailer for next week that offered a more definitive answer. In the sneak peek, Angelina says, “I woke up in the middle of the night, I’m actively miscarrying.”

This is not the first pregnancy or loss for Pivarnick. The 39-year-old had a miscarriage in 2011, telling fans on theFather Albert Show, “It was just really like hard, and you know, everybody in the tabloids and the media, they weren’t really leaving me alone about it.” She continued, explaining, “It was really hard, and I went through a lot of stress, and I wound up losing the baby.”

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:14am

Ella Bleu Travolta, the daughter of John Travolta and the late actress Kelly Preston, is the latest young beauty to take over the red carpet.

John Travolta is a film legend with diverse roles ranging from Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever to Grease and Look Who’s Talking under his belt. Preston, who appeared in over 60 films and television shows, died in 2020 at age 57, two years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But her memory lives on in her daughter, whose stunning looks resemble her mother’s beauty. Ella Bleu joined her dad at the Los Angeles premiere of his directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, at the DGA Theater, and shut down the red carpet with her chic style and stunning beauty. Naturally, her dad wore a beret next to her. It's his new signature style!

If you prefer to spend the actual holidays out at sea, a second 15-day Christmas cruise features overnight celebrations in Hamburg and Copenhagen, scenic cruising along the stunning Elbe River, and a journey through the breathtaking, snow-dusted fjords of southern Norway, making stops in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger.

Furniture Flipper Reveals Her Four Biggest Restoration Fails—'The Last One Is Tragic'

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 9:00am

If you've ever watched the @builditlikebecker channel on TikTok, you know that the Becker family's videos typically focus on their impressive furniture flips. However, daughter Amanda Becker decided to peel back the curtain for a recent video, where she revealed four of her biggest furniture flip fails of all time.

Keep reading to learn about these mistakes — so that you can hopefully avoid repeating them in the future!

Becker Accidentally Poisoned Herself Working on a Tall Chest of Drawers

After accidentally dropping her sander on a tall chest of drawers, Becker put the piece aside and let it sit in her garage for nine months. But unfortunately, that accident wound up being the least of this chest's problems. Firstly, she accidentally poisoned herself with the toxic chemicals in the lacquer finish she used, since she didn't wear a proper respirator.

Then, she set out to stain the wood. This should have been simple, but due to high humidity and accidentally using a penetrating wood stain, everything went wrong. After trying a few fixes, Becker gave up and just covered the entire chest with white paint and wallpaper.

She Let This Dresser Sit in Storage for Two Years After Her First Flip Attempt

Becker made mistake after mistake when trying to upgrade an old orange wood dresser. She accidentally sanded through the tabletop's veneer, she used the wrong primer and she chose a questionable mint green paint color with clashing gold hardware. She was so unhappy with how this piece turned out that she kept it in storage for two years before taking another whack at it.

The second time around, she stripped the piece down, replaced the bun feet with new feet, had her dad help her make an ornate trim and then she painted the piece black — and it turned out gorgeous!

Never give up đŸ«Ą #furnitureflip #furnituremakeover #DIY #TiktokLearningCampaign #LearnOnTiktok

♬ original sound - Builditlikebecker Pole Wrap Saved This Midcentury Modern Dresser

Becker says she let this flip "haunt her" for several years. On her first attempt to restore this vintage midcentury modern dresser, Becker tried filling in chips and dings with wood filler — which only made things worse. So when she returned to this dresser years later, she decided to simply cover each drawer front with bamboo pole wrap, which she painted black. She also restored the tabletop and the legs, and the final product turned out modern and so much better than the original.

Counterfeit Brass Brushes Almost Destroyed This Dresser

Becker called this furniture flip a "tragedy." After stripping the black paint from the top of a $50 walnut dresser, she used what she thought was a brass brush to scrub paint out of the walnut wood grain. However, it turned out that the brush was counterfeit, and was actually made with steel bristles — which interacted poorly with the water-based finish that Becker used.

So just as Becker thought her project was almost over, she had to start over. A few months later, she returned to the project — and in the end, she managed to turn the dresser into something truly stunning, which she sold for $1,250.

"While mistakes did happen — some of which were not my fault but most of them were — I learned something from all of them, and it's made me better," Becker concluded at the end of her video.

Soundtrack to Pivotal Season of TV's 'Most Confusing Show' to Be Released

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:59am

Fans of a certain long "lost" TV show might be enjoying From on MGM+ these days, a mystery series with a somewhat similar vibe.

Twenty years ago, however, Lost was in full swing on ABC — more specifically, its groundbreaking third season.

Die-hards of the mind-trip saga, co-created by J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, may also recall the emotionally charged musical score that helped boost the Season 3's second half — which offered a number of eye-opening and shocking episodes with twists we certainly didn't see coming.

And now, in honor of the season's 20-year milestone, composer Michael Giacchino’s iconic score for the pivotal third season of Lost will debut on vinyl this summer, hitting stores July 24.

The 2-LP set is pressed on “Forest Green” vinyl and comes packaged in a gatefold jacket featuring creative notes from the original 2006 CD release by Giacchino, 58, and others. The release is set to hit stores on July 24 and is available for pre-order today.

Giacchino became known for his remarkable speed in developing themes and ideas for an essential score in the fast-paced TV production world.

“We never really spotted any of the episodes for the entire run of the show," he told IndieWire in 2024, amid the first season's 20th anniversary. "There just wasn’t time to discuss music episode by episode, as the showrunners were cranking out scripts and shooting episodes, so I would receive the episode and have (in many cases) three to five days to write and turn it around — meaning recording as well.”

The third season of Lost — a show that was ranked by Comic Book Resources in December 2025 as one of five "most confusing shows in TV history" — is widely regarded as one of the best in the show’s history. Despite what fans considered a “slow start,” its second half ranks among the series’ strongest.

‘70s Rock Supergroup Released Debut Album 57 Years Ago Today—‘We Knew That It Was Going To Be a Hit’

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:58am

On May 29, 1969, the world was introduced to Crosby, Stills, and Nash. The supergroup formed by David Crosby of the Byrds, Stephen Stills of Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash of The Hollies, released their self-titled debut album on that date, changing rock music forever.

The album, known for its harmony-driven folk-rock sound, produced two Top 40 singles: "Marrakesh Express" peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 23, 1969, and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" went to No. 21 on Nov. 29, 1969. Crosby, Stills & Nash has since been certified four times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and remains one of the most groundbreaking and iconic rock albums of all time.

The trio knew they had a special sound

After first singing together in 1968, Crosby, Stills, and Nash knew they had something special.

In an interview with Rolling Stonein 2008, Nash recalled the trio’s connection as they made their debut album. “We were in love with each other at the time we recorded that album,” he shared. “We were new friends discovering new parts about each other, and we had songs. And we had the ability to translate those songs into records, that was astounding and we knew it.”

“When we walked out of the studio with that two-track under our arm, we knew what it was going to do,” Nash added. “We knew that it was going to be a hit."

Rock's first supergroup

Crosby, Stills, and Nash became one of the first-ever rock supergroups. In 2012, Crosby told Music Radar point blank, “The term 'supergroup' didn't exist until we formed. We were the first second-generation band to form. We had all been in successful bands before, but something like us had never happened. We set the precedent. And for us to become even bigger than our previous bands, that was even more unique."

Still, following the success of their debut album, the band knew they had to make a change in order to perform their songs live.

Speaking on AXS TV’s The Big Interview, Crosby noted that Stills did a lot of instrumentals on the album. “He played lead [guitar], he played acoustic, he played bass, and he played piano,” Crosby shared.

Nash added, “When we had created this album, and we realized we're going to have to go out and play live, what do we do with a man that played all the instruments? We can't, it doesn't work.”

That was when the trip turned to another member from Stills’ former group—Neil Young, who would go on to join them starting with their very next album, making them a quartet.

“And I think there was a lot of questions in our minds whether or not we wanted Neil in the band,” Crosby admitted. “But Neil’s brilliant
he knew what we had, too.”

1987 Surf Rock Song Ranked the Best Classic Rock Instrumental of All Time

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:55am

Although there are too many great rock instrumentals to count, Colliderrecently ranked the “10 Most Perfect Classic Rock Instrumentals of All Time.” The song that came in at number one on the list was “Pipeline” by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dick Dale. Versions of this song have appeared in countless movies and television shows over the years, from The Simpsonsto Gilmore Girls to The Wanderers.

“Pipeline” was a surf rock instrumental recorded by The Chantays in 1962. It was originally called “Liberty’s Whip” after the 1962 Western film, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. However, the band renamed it after watching another movie showing surfers riding the waves in Hawaii. The song rose all the way to No. 4 on the Billboard charts, becoming a major hit.

Over the years, many different artists covered “Pipeline,” including Vaughan and Dale. The 1987 version created by these two guitar legends went on to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

Bob Spickard, from The Chantays, spoke about the success of the song (and its covers) in an interview reported on by Vintage Guitar. “Fortunately for us, ‘Pipeline’ is considered a classic, especially of that era,” he said. “Covers kind of kept us going all those years. It seemed like the Ventures used it on almost every album they released in Japan. We did three weeks there, from one end of the country to the other, including Budokan. We drew 20,000 people at one concert. They treated us like we were the Beatles.”

Related: 58 Years Ago, This Classic Rock Band Released Their First of Many Hit Singles Before Breaking Up

"Pipeline" is still popular to this day. One fan said, “This is one of the best pieces of music ever created in the entire history of humanity.” Another said, “Best version of this tune ever. Sadly both of these great guitarists are gone.”

Vaughan died in a helicopter crash in 1990 when he was only 35. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Dale died in 2019 at the age of 81 after years of battling diabetes, kidney disease, and cancer.

Your Secret Manifestation Superpower, Based on Your Birth Month

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:48am

Every era of life brings with it new aspirations, goals, and ambitions. You could find yourself yearning for more fulfilling friendships, more time with your spouse, a move to a new home, or a career leap. While you may be motivated to map out a step-by-step game plan for making your vision a reality, it can also help to lean into a manifestation practice. By creating an experience in which you begin living and believing in what life will look like at that ultimate finish line, you can set the stage for your desire to unfold in a way that seems almost magical. But not everyone is wired to manifest in exactly the same way. While some people might have an innate ability to speak their big dream into being, others may find they’re most successful when they engage in a spiritually-charged ritual. Read on to learn what your manifestation superpower is, based on your birth month.

How You Can Most Successfully Manifest, Based on Your Birth Month

Be sure to read on for your birth month.

January

If your solar return falls during the first month of the year, you were born while the sun was moving through industrious, grounded Capricorn or quirky, science-minded Aquarius. Both signs are ruled by Saturn, the taskmaster planet, which means that being committed and resolute is in your celestial DNA. In turn, your superpower is your ability to stick to a daily manifestation practice, whether that’s a visualization technique or brainstorming all the ways you’ll feel and act when your dream becomes a reality.

CURIOUS?: The 4 Birth Dates With Divine Energy

February

If you came into the world during the middle of winter, you were born when the sun was in either humanitarian, group-oriented Aquarius or psychic, mystical Pisces. Your imagination is off-the-charts, and you’re inventive, which means you have the potential to be both idiosyncratic and/or deeply artistic. Your manifestation superpower is tapping into your unparalleled creativity and channeling your vision into an beloved artistic outlet, whether that’s drawing, dance, or sketching a new invention.

March

Born during the month that serves as a bridge between the deep, dark winter and lighter, brighter, greener spring, you’re either a sensitive, healer Pisces sun or an action-oriented, direct Aries. You’re innately attuned to your instincts, which makes it possible for you to readily key into your “why.” And whenever your why is aligned with your highest self and purpose, you’re capable of creating positive massive change.

Whether you’re inspired to move at a lightning-fast pace or take your sweet time to center yourself and call in your desire, trusting your inner knowing will set the stage for success.

May

If you mark another year around the sun during the sun’s time in grounded, steady Taurus or curious, lighthearted Gemini, you know that the power of your relationships is at the core of how you win in life. In turn, you manifest best when you’re sharing your vision with others. As a result, you’re capable of soaking up the moment and allowing your heart to guide you. Hold tight to your passion for caring for and showing up for others — and yourself — as it’s integral to success.

The first full month of fall, when cuffing season is in full swing, the sun travels through partnership-loving, elegant Libra and intimacy-seeking, intense Scorpio. You’re deeply in sync with the rhythms of relationships, bonding, and finding common ground with others, especially within one-on-one bonds. This willingness to be vulnerable and give yourself so fully when connecting with others also serves as your manifesting superpower. You’re also a natural at stepping into your personal power and cultivating transformation.

Your inner fire is your superpower when it comes to manifesting. You bring so much passion, joie d’vivre, and intensity to everything you set your mind to, and that bold focus is certain to give you a leg up when it comes to turning even an outlandish ambition into your everyday reality.

December

If you were born when the sun was moving through either unfiltered, jovial Sagittarius or hardworking, grounded Capricorn, you’re intent on living life to the fullest, broadening your horizons, and soaking up knowledge at every turn. Your thirst for learning and ability to ask the big questions supports your spiritual growth while setting you up for blessings from the universe. If you find that you’re not feeling especially aligned to a particular vision or your path needs tweaking, your willingness to pivot and reset will support concrete results.

These 4 Birth Months Wear Their Heart on Their Sleeve

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:31am

There are people are naturally good at concealing their emotions, while others are an open book. You can often gauge their feelings before they even speak. Their facial expressions reveal their thoughts, their tone changes immediately, and if they care about you, you’ll sense it immediately.

According to expert astrologers, four birth months appear to be associated with individuals who rarely hide their emotions. Here are four birth months known for people who wear their hearts on their sleeves, full of sensitive care and emotional depth.

Which Birth Months Wear Their Heart on Their Sleeve?March

People born in March tend to feel everything deeply, and they rarely fake indifference well. They can walk into a room cheerful and glowing one minute, then completely retreat into their thoughts the next. Their emotions are usually tied to the people around them, which makes them incredibly compassionate but also easy to hurt. Whether you’re a dreamy Pisces or bold Aries, March-born people often lead with emotion before logic.

March personalities are usually the friends who check in first, remember tiny details, and genuinely want everyone around them to feel included. The downside is they often absorb stress like a sponge. Even when they try to hide disappointment, it still shows in their voice, expressions, or silence. They care too much to pretend otherwise.

FUN: The National Museum You Need to Visit, Based on Birth Month

June

People born in June are emotional in a very open, conversational way. They process feelings out loud, ask questions, and often wear their mood throughout the day. When they’re happy, everyone feels it. When they’re upset, the atmosphere changes instantly. Whether you’re a curious Gemini or sensitive Cancer, June personalities rarely keep emotions locked away for long.

What makes June-born individuals stand out is their honesty. They’re not usually trying to be dramatic; they believe feelings are meant to be expressed instead of buried. They love hard, fiercely defend the people they care about, and can become deeply attached to relationships and memories. That emotional transparency is exactly what makes them so lovable.

EXPLORE: The Message Your Spirit Guides Have for Your Birth Month

October

October-born people may seem calm on the surface, but their emotions are surprisingly easy to read once you know them. They crave connection and harmony, so when something feels off, they struggle to hide it. Their energy shifts quickly when they’re hurt or disappointed. Whether you’re a balanced Libra or intense Scorpio, people born in October tend to feel relationships very personally.

They’re often the type to replay conversations in their head and wonder if they upset someone without meaning to. At the same time, they’re generous with affection and compliments. If an October-born person loves you, you’ll never have to guess.

RELATE?: The 4 Birth Dates With Divine Energy

December

December-born people experience emotions loudly, honestly, and without much filtering. They laugh hard, argue passionately, and react in real time. Even when they try to play it cool, their excitement or frustration usually slips through immediately. Whether you’re an adventurous Sagittarius or a determined Capricorn, those born in December are known for emotional sincerity.

Something refreshing about them is that what you see is what you get. They don’t always have the patience for emotional games or hidden meanings. If they care, they show it. If they’re hurt, you’ll probably know. And honestly, that kind of openness is rare these days.

1982 New Wave Classic That Sparked a Major Record Label Bidding War Became a Timeless Anthem

Fri, 05/29/2026 - 8:31am

Before alternative music became truly mainstream, the English rock band The The delivered one of the genre’s most emotional and enduring songs with “Uncertain Smile,” which became a cult classic despite not reaching No. 1 on music charts.

Released as a single in 1982, the moody new wave classic helped transform the Matt Johnson-led project from an underground act into one of the most talked-about names in Britain’s music scene. It was later re-recorded for The The's debut album, Soul Mining, which came out in late 1983.

The song became so buzzed about in London that it reportedly sparked a fierce bidding war among record labels eager to sign the band. In a 2014 interview with The Quietus, Johnson talked about the making of "Uncertain Smile," which was originally titled "Cold Spell Ahead" during the demo phase, and how he decided what label to represent him.

He recalled how the English recording company London Records loved the demo, and Stevo Pearce, a music producer and owner of Some Bizarre Records, got the company to pay for a trip to NYC without anything in writing guaranteeing that Johnson would sign with them.

As Johnson put it, "He did what I refer to as a Tin Pan Alley sleight of hand deal... it wasn’t a good thing to do." Looking back, he didn't agree with Pearce's methods.

But during the NYC trip, CBS Records heard the demo and loved it as well. Because Johnson hadn't truly signed with London Records ye, the two fought for The The to join their label in a bidding war, and in the end, Johnson chose CBS Records for his band.

While the story of how The The, and in turn, "Uncertain Smile," found its label is an interesting one, the song on its own cemented its strong legacy. The track is one of the rare rock or new wave songs to use a xylimba, an instrument similar to a xylophone but with a deeper tone. It also features some flute, a long piano outro, and Johnson's memorable vocals.

"Uncertain Smile" was The The's first charting song, peaking at No. 68 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart, although it didn't chart in the U.S. While its chart history might not be as impressive as other songs, the track went on to become a fan-favorite, still beloved decades after its release.
