Sia Will Pay Ex-Husband Daniel Bernad Over $40,000 in Child Support
Sia reached an agreement with her estranged husband Daniel Bernad regarding child support.
According to court documents obtained by People filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, April 6, the singer will pay Bernard $42,500 monthly in child support. The two share a son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, who was born on March 27, 2024.
Sia began the payments on Wednesday, April 1, and will continue the monthly payments to Bernad until their child turns 18, or, if he is still attending high school full time, until he graduates or turns 19. The agreement may also end under certain conditions such as death, marriage, emancipation or further court order.
The singer will be responsible for paying for their son's private school tuition, extra-curricular activities, and healthcare expenses not covered by insurance. She will also be required to establish a $5 million life insurance policy with her son as beneficiary.
Sia and Bernad will share joint legal custody of their son, while physical custody will follow a set schedule that began on Wednesday, April 1. Bernad will have custody on holidays such as Father's Day and Hanukkah and Sia will have custody on Mother's Day, Easter, and Christmas.
Sia first filed for divorce from Bernad in March 2025 after three years of marriage. In Oct. 2025, Bernad filed a request seeking sole legal and physical custody of their son alleging Sia was, "an unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse and addiction."
Sia responded to Bernad's claims at the time stating that she was six months sober and actively in recovery. A judge then denied Bernad's request for sole custody stating there was, “sufficient exigency for the requested emergency relief has not been shown at this time."
Additionally, according to the Monday, April 6 filing, a previous issue regarding spousal support was resolved separately in Dec. 2025.
Best-Selling Classic Novel Ranked Among Most ‘Disappointing’ Books Ever on Goodreads
Classic novels can be a tough sell for some readers, with older writing styles and complex storytelling challenging many modern book lovers. While some people think it's worth it to read the beloved old books, others would rather skip them altogether.
In the case of one coming-of-age novel often found in high school English lesson plans, thousands of readers found the book to be one of the most disappointing reads ever, and that's The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
The book was officially ranked in the top five positions on the Goodreads list of most "Disappointing Books." While more recent releases like Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the Westby Gregory Maguire ranked above Salinger's book, the classic took the fourth spot on the list.
The Catcher in the Rye was originally released in 1951, and the story follows a boy named Holden Caulfield as he spends a long weekend in New York City after being expelled from his prep school. The book explores teenage angst, loneliness, and a desire for authenticity and personal identity.
The novel explores a lot of complicated topics and themes through Caulfield's weekend adventure, and there are many different interpretations of the boy's story. While some people see the ending as hopeful, others feel like Caulfield exhibits no real growth by the end of it.

There's not a lot of action in the book, and the end doesn't provide an answer or a big realization that might leave readers feeling satisfied. Overall, it's not hard to see how so many readers might be disappointed in The Catcher in the Rye.
Along with Salinger's well-known novel, there were other classics on the list as well, including The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

‘The Voice’ Season 29: Who Went Home Tonight? Who Won the 'All-Star Showdown'?
The Knockouts concluded tonight for Season 29 of The Voice: Battle of Champions with coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend deciding which of their paired teammates will make it through to the semifinals and which one went home.
What differentiates the Knockouts from the Battles is they aren’t duets. Each artist sings solo and rather than a song that their coach selected for them, they have the chance to select their own song. The other difference is that there are no Steals or Saves this season.
Then, The Voice All-Star Showdown began, in which all-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special contest, coaches call upon original Voice coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown. CeeLo also served as Mega Mentor for the Knockouts for Team Adam and Team Legend, while Michael Bublé assisted Team Kelly.
Here's our spoiler-filled recap of who went home on The Voice Season 29 tonight, plus what happened during the first "All-Star Showdown" of the season.

Grace song: “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole

John said: “His tone was beautiful. He’s such a skilled singer. He made my choice for me. He really stepped up to this moment. I love my team. I feel like they’re really ready.”
Knockout Round 3: Mikenley Brown vs Jonah Mayor from Team KellyMikenley song: “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan
Jonah song: “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins
Winner: Mikenley Brown
Kelly said: “I am so stoked to see what Mikenley does moving forward because she’s inspiring to work with. I’m very excited about Team Kelly because my three artists are very different from each other and I love that. I am exited for any one of them to move forward and I love that being the case. Team Kelly could definitely win this show.”
What happened on the "All-Star Showdown" on The Voice tonight? The first-ever All-Star Showdown will have three rounds: Adam vs Kelly, Kelly vs John, and John vs Adam.
Representing Team Adam will be Javier Colón (Season 1 winner) and Jordan Smith (Season 9 winner); for Team Kelly, it will be Jake Hoot (Season 17 winner) and Girl Named Tom (Season 21 winner); and for Team Legend, it ill be Maelyn Jarmon (Season 16 winner) and Renzo (Season 27).
Each artist will perform a song that they previously sang on The Voice and the winners were decided by CeeLo Green, who promised to call it like he sees it.
All-Star Showdown Round 1: Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly vs Renzo from Team LegendGirl Named Tom song: “Dust in the Wind” by Kansas
Renzo song: “Dream On” by Aerosmith
Champion: A Girl Named Tom
CeeLo said: “Renzo, you showed great heart. I wish there could be more of you. I wish you could be duplicated and multiplied. Girl Named Tom, you remind me of a time in music that’s almost erased from our memory. The three-part harmony – Crosby, Stills & Nash – that wholesome folk sound of the ‘60s. It’s so beautiful and nostalgic. What you do with the three-part harmony is so necessary and you did a wonderful performance. Renzo, when I see you, I see my reflection. When I see Girl Named Tom, I see my resolve because it’s peaceful and tranquil and I loved it. I appreciate art. I can’t say anything less than impressed for both of you guys.”
All-Star Showdown Round 2: Maelyn Jarmonfrom Team Legend vs Jordan Smith from Team AdamMaelyn song: “Fields of Gold” by Sting
Jordan song: “Chandelier” by Sia
Champion: Maelyn Jarmon
CeeLo said: “It is such an honor to be in the presence of what God has done for you both. This might be a kooky comparison, but it reminds of Star Wars, the bar scene where all the animals were making music. We are all that different, that unique, individualistic and idiosyncratic, one-of-one work of art. Music is a means of communication, so thank you both for being spirit animals to us all. Jordan is a great vocalist. He’s unmistakable, but I ultimately chose Maelyn because she touched me. She moved my soul. I can appreciate her poise, her voice control, her charisma. She projected as if she was singing in front of 100,000 people.”
All-Star Showdown Round 3: Jake Hoot from Team Kelly vs Javier Colónfrom Team AdamJavier song: “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper
Jake song: “Desperado” by Eagles
Champion: Jake Hoot
CeeLo said: “I enjoyed myself. Javier, you were that revelation that we all had. It was an iconic moment, and you have an iconic voice. It’s a timeless voice. Then, this charming cowboy comes out and kills it. I am surprisingly impressed with you. I am totally blown away.”
Who won The Voice All-Star Showdown?Kelly ClarksonAs Jake Hoot and Girl Named Tom both won their showdowns, Kelly made a clean sweep of the "All-Star Showdown." As a result, she will get two of her singers in the finale, as opposed to just one, doubling her chances of becoming the winning coach this season.

CBS Announces Replacement for 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'
The Late Night With Stephen Colberthas found its successor.
Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen will take over the network's 11:35 p.m. time slot on May 22. The talk show will then be followed by another series produced by Allen, a comedy game show Funny You Should Ask, at 12:35 a.m.
"I created and launched Comics Unleashed 20 years ago so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love — make people laugh," Allen said in a statement. "I truly appreciate CBS' confidence in me by picking up our two-hour comedy block of Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask, because the world can never have enough laughter."
Comics Unleashed first premiered in 2006 and Funny You Should Asked, hosted by Jon Kelley, premiered in 2017. Comics Unleashed had previously had a limited run on CBS from 2023 t0 2024 after The Late Late Show With James Cordon came to an end. The show then returned to CBS for the 2025-2026 to take over After Midnight With Taylor Tomlinson.
Allen's upcoming arrangement with CBS is unique as The Hollywood Reporter explained that he is buying airtime from the network in exchange that his company, Allen Media Network, can sell any available advertising spots during Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask.
CBS had announced in July 2025 that the Late Show franchise would come to an end and cited the decision as "purely a financial" one.
"The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will end its historic run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season," CBS said in a statement at the time. "We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television."
The statement continued, "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount."
Colbert addressed the cancellation during a taping at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York.
It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away," he told the audience.
Colbert continued, We get to do this show for each other, every day, all day, and I've had the pleasure and the responsibility of sharing what we do every day with you in front of this camera for the last 10 years. "Let me tell you, it is a fantastic job. I wish somebody else was getting it. And it's a job that I'm looking forward to doing with this usual gang of idiots for another 10 months. It's going to be fun."

What Were the Challenges on 'Top Chef' Season 23 Episode 5?The Quickfire Challenge had Fortune and Kristen task the chefs with an improv cooking challenge. Fortune brought with her three little girls—Kinsleigh, Wolfe and Anna Cate—to be the extra guest judges.
Based on the kids' answers to some questions, the improv cooking parameters were "Christmas, Colorado and 'Puffified," which was based on Wolfe loving Cheetos. The words were left up to the chefs for their own individual interpretation. And at the last minute, the kids sprung a wildcard ingredient on them: corn nuts. Oh dear.
Jennifer ended up ducking out of the competition because her shoulder is still really bothering her. That's such a bummer.

The least favorite dishes went to Rhoda, Oscar and Sherry. The top 3 dishes were:
- Sieger with his peppermint and white chocolate crema Catalana with corn nuts, puffed sorghum, strawberries and pomegranate seeds.
- Jonathan with his puffified pizza with pita bread, andouille sausage, and cheese "snow" with a blueberry and grape salad on the side.
- Brandon with his Colorado vanilla ice cream with Nutella, corn nut crunch and maple syrup. He was declared the winner and earned $10,000. Top Chef also donated $10,000 to Comic Relief.
The Elimination Challenge tasked the chefs with going to the largest outdoor center in the area, the U.S. National Whitewater Center, which has the largest human-made whitewater river for rafting. The challenge was to create a dish using dehydrated components. They had to dehydrate at least one component themselves in the Top Chef kitchen ahead of the cook at the Whitewater Center.

Top Chef: Wisconsin finalist Savannah Miller joined them for the Elimination Challenge as a guest judge.
The Top 3 dishes of the day went to:
- Sherry with her sea bass and summer cassoulet with smoked kalamata olive crumble, tomato skins and tomato chips.
- Duyen with her coconut-braised pork belly, radicchio, Thai basil chimichurri and rice with dehydrated shrimp and aromatics.
- Anthony with his cured salmon with banga broth and dehydrated smoked oyster-infused rice. He earned Best Dish and he will have immunity next week.
The Bottom 3 dishes went to:
- Laurence with his brassica salad with trail mix, creamy sesame dressing and pomegranate glass.
- Rhoda her roasted monkfish with adobo sauce and dehydrated squid ink and garlic chips.
- Oscar with his lamb chops with grits, asparagus and mole sauce.

However, before the judges decided who to eliminate, they had to speak with Jennifer about her injury. They told her there's no more skipping the Quickfire Challenges and if she chooses to leave the competition, she will be invited back to compete on a future season whenever she wants.
In the end, Jennifer decided to stay in the competition. The judges told her that if she chooses to sit out any competition from here on out, she will be eliminated.
They showed a quick excerpt from the "stew room" where the other competitors told her they would each help her do one item of prep during the Quickfire Challenge. Wow, that is so kind.
The person sent home turned out to be Rhoda, who will now face off with Nana on Last Chance Kitchen.

Susan Lucci, 79, Shows That Age Is Just a Number in a Strapless Floral Gown on the Red Carpet
Susan Lucci is 79 and looking better than ever on the red carpet.
The All My Children legend, who rose to stardom portraying Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama, owned the legendary role from 1970 to 2011. While her soap opera reign may be complete, her time in the spotlight continues to get brighter. Lucci hit the world premiere of Apple's Outcome at AMC Lincoln Square Theater this week in New York City, and looked like a floral goddess in a strapless blue gown covered in pink flowers. She's 79 and still setting the red carpet on fire!

What Has Susan Lucci Said About Losing Her Husband? It hasn't been all fun and games for Lucci in recent years. The actress lost her beloved husband, Helmut Huber, in March 2022. In her new memoir, La Lucci, which was released on Feb. 3, Lucci shared that she never fully understood the depth of grief until she experienced it herself.
“I realized that grief is not something you can really understand until you go through it — until you experience it. Until it’s your grief and you’re sitting in the front row at the funeral,” she writes in the new memoir, AARP reported. “I spent the whole month of March with Helmut, and I am forever grateful for the time I had with him every day. I felt lucky to share that time together."
What is Susan Lucci's Health and Wellness Regimen?Lucci started doing Pilates when she was 40 and has never stopped. But following the fitness regimen also helped her adopt a healthier way of living.
"I continue Pilates for a lot of reasons. Certainly, the results are something that I really like, but it also helps manage stress. There's a great mind, body, spirit connection," Lucci told Yahoo Life back in February. "But also it changed the way I eat. Before Pilates, which I started in my 40s, I was a cheeseburger-, ice cream-, taco-eating girl. Two weeks in, I suddenly didn't crave those things anymore, which shocked me. I wish I had started sooner."

1969 Career-Defining Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 57 Years Ago Today
Tommy Roe is celebrated as one of the most successful artists of the ’60s, known for capturing the public’s hearts with his timeless hits.
With his music career spanning decades, one of his most notable singles is the 1969 hit “Dizzy.”
57 years ago today, the song, originally released on Feb. 2, topped the Billboard Hot 100 on March 15, holding the No. 1 song position for four weeks, displacing Sly & the Family Stone’s single "Everyday People" from the top spot for the past four weeks.
Per Billboard, “Dizzy” spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart.
Beyond its massive success in the U.S., the song also climbed the UK Singles Chart in June 1969, reaching the No. 1 spot for a week. At the time, it spent a total of 20 weeks on the chart, establishing it as his most successful UK hit.
Written by Roe himself, he collaborated with Paul Revere & The Raiders’ member Freddy Weller as a co-writer on the track.
“Dizzy,” with its upbeat and highly melodic pop sound, became an infectious hit in the late ’60s to early ’70s, captivating listeners and becoming the quintessential example of bubblegum pop.

The song’s massive success was evidenced by the multiple artists who also covered the 1969 single.
In 1984, Boney M., the German disco-reggae group, recorded an electro-disco version of “Dizzy,” which became part of their seventh studio album Ten Thousand Lightyears.
Wreckless Eric added a touch of punk influence to the song, which he released in 1978 and included on his debut album The Wonderful World of Wreckless Eric.
However, the most successful cover was by Vic Reeves & The Wonder Stuff in 1991.
At the time, their cover version reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and held the top position for two consecutive weeks.
Prior to Roe hitting his second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, his first was the 1962 track “Sheila,” which was also the title track of his debut studio album.
At the time, the single peaked in September and spent two weeks at the top of the chart and a total of 14 weeks on the charts.
It was in 2018 when he announced his retirement, expressing nostalgia and deep gratitude for his long music career.
“I have so many great memories of the music and of my fans who have supported me through the years. Fifty-five years, to be exact. What a gift it has been for me to share this time with you,” he said, as cited by Best Classic Bands.

On This Day in 1987, This 'Days of Our Lives' Supercouple Welcomed a 'Miracle'—And Salem Was Never the Same
On April 6, 1987, fan-favorite super couple Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) welcomed their son, Shawn Douglas Brady, on Days of Our Lives.
The highly anticipated storyline was promoted by NBC at the time as a “miracle come true,” reflecting Bo and Hope’s long-running romance, which had seen the couple overcome multiple separations and dramatic twist before starting a family.
Shawn was named in honor of both of his grandfathers: his first name comes from Bo’s father, Shawn Brady (Frank Parker), while his middle name, Douglas, pays tribute to Hope’s father, Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).
Over the years, Shawn has been portrayed by multiple actors. The role was originated by child actor Noel Bennett Castle in 1987, followed by Paul Zachary and later Scott Groff, who played the character for several years.
In 1995, Collin O’Donell took over the role before the character was rapidly aged, a common soap opera practice known as SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome). Jason Cook then portrayed Shawn as a teenager beginning in 1999, remaining in the role until 2006. Brandon Beemer later assumed the role and has portrayed Shawn on and off in the years since.

Professionally, Shawn followed in his parents’ footsteps by joining the Salem Police Department, where he worked his way up from patrol officer to detective.

Best-Selling Author’s Novel Ranked ‘Best Non-Fiction’ on Goodreads
Few nonfiction books have captured readers' imaginations quite like The Devil in the White City.
The bestselling work by Erik Larson has been ranked the "best nonfiction" book on Goodreads, based on reader votes. The recognition underscores its enduring appeal, as readers continue to revisit its gripping blend of history and true crime.
Originally published in 2003, the book tells the intertwined stories of two very different men set against the backdrop of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. One is visionary architect Daniel Burnham, who led the effort to design and build the fair, creating a dazzling symbol of innovation and ambition.
The other is H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who used the influx of visitors to the city as cover for his crimes. As the fair brought millions to Chicago, Holmes operated in the shadows, committing a series of chilling acts that would later make him one of the most infamous figures in American history.
The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson (Photo by Bill Tompkins/Getty Images)Larson's storytelling stands out for its ability to weave these parallel narratives together, creating a sense of tension that reads more like a novel than traditional nonfiction. His attention to detail and vivid descriptions bring both the grandeur of the World's Fair and the darkness of Holmes' crimes to life. For Larson, characters are key.
"The way it starts, for me, is you read the broad stuff, the big survey histories and so forth," Larson said in a 2024 interview. "You kind of circle in, getting closer and closer to the nub of things by going into what I call the intimate histories—the published diaries, documents, letters—and all the while you're looking for the right characters. Then you have an idea of who these characters might be; you come down to a half-dozen characters, one of whom could be central to the story."
The book became a massive success upon release and has remained a staple of nonfiction reading lists, praised for its unique structure and compelling subject matter.
"There's always a way to tell an old story in a new way," Larson said in a 2022 interview. "That's my feeling. And it's a good thing I feel that way, because at the rate that people have started doing narrative nonfiction, I sometimes feel like there’s nothing new to write."

Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, rose to fame as one third of the Atlanta-based hip hop trio Migos alongside Takeoff and Quavo. 1962 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time'
In 1962, a young filmmaker introduced the world to a new kind of cinematic storytelling.
Ivan's Childhood, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, has been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, further cementing its status as a landmark in world cinema.
The film follows Ivan, a young boy serving as a scout for the Soviet army during World War II. Having lost his family to the war, Ivan becomes consumed by a desire for revenge, navigating a harsh and unforgiving landscape that has stripped him of his childhood.
Rather than focusing on large-scale battles, Tarkovsky centers the story on Ivan's inner world, using dream sequences and stark imagery to contrast innocence with the brutal realities of war. The film's poetic style and emotional depth set it apart from traditional war narratives of the time.
"Cinema in general always creates a possibility of putting pieces together into a whole," Tarkovsky said in a 2023 interview. "A film consists of all of the separate shots like a mosaic — of separate fragments of different colour and texture. And it may be that each fragment on its own is — it would seem — of no significance. But within that whole it becomes an absolutely necessary element, it exists only within that whole. That's why cinema is important to me in the sense that there is not, there cannot be any fragment in the film which wouldn't be thought through with an eye for the final result."
Ivans' Childhood marked Tarkovsky's feature film debut and immediately drew international attention, winning the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. The recognition established him as one of the most important directors of his generation.
The film's influence can still be felt today, particularly in its approach to blending realism with surreal, introspective storytelling.
More than six decades later, Ivan's Childhood remains a powerful and haunting exploration of war’s impact—one that continues to resonate with audiences and critics alike.

Hachette Cancels Release of Anticipated Horror Novel Due To Suspected AI Use
As the debate over AI use in writing goes on and the use of it continues to rise, book publishers and authors are taking steps to protect jobs and creativity. Hachette is the latest publisher to make a move, after complaints that Shy Girl by Mia Ballard was potentially written by AI.
Ballard says that this was not the case, but Hachette has decided to take defensive action. On top of that, the book is being pulled in the UK, after it was originally published in March 2025.
Hachette Has Decided Not to Publish ‘Shy Girl’Despite Ballard’s statement that she did not use AI to write her horror novel, Hachette, one of the Big Five publishers in the United States, has decided not to go ahead with its U.S.-based plan. Shy Girl was set to be released later this month, and now there are questions over whether it will be published at all.
The novel is also being pulled in the United Kingdom. Wildfire is currently publishing the manuscript in the UK. According to the BBC, this is the first time a U.S. publisher has pulled its plan over AI use, making it clear that it protects the creativity of authors.
Before Wildfire took over the publishing in the UK, Ballard had self-published, selling 2,000 copies. This is when some of the comments about it being written by AI came up, although the author kept stating that she hadn’t used ChaptGPT or any other program to write it.
Mia Ballard Admits to a Friend Using AIReaders took to Goodreads to share their suspicions about the book being, what is referred to many, as “AI slop.” Frankie’s Shelf on YouTube then shared a three-hour video detailing the elements that make it look like it was written by AI. However, at first, many readers put it down to being self-published, especially when it came to repetitiveness and errors.
While Ballard has said that her novel is her own work, she has admitted that a friend used AI to help with the editing process. She has also made it clear that she will take legal action against Hachette and others for the events that have transpired, as they have affected her name and her mental health.
1950 Hit Film Ranked Among 'Greatest American Movies of All Time'
It is quite simply "a Hollywood story," as the tagline goes.
Sunset Blvd. was released in 1950 and went on to win three Academy Awards, though it nominated for a whole lot more. The Billy Wilder-helmed masterpiece — sometimes spelled out as Sunset Boulevard — features a stellar cast led by William Holden and Gloria Swanson — and by the turn of the century, the American Film Institute ranked the tragic dark comedy near the top of its "Greatest American Movies of All Time" list.
And don't we just love films that turn the camera on the industry itself? Rotten Tomatoes calls it "arguably the greatest movie about Hollywood." Here's the official synopsis:
An aging silent film queen (Swanson) refuses to accept that her stardom has ended. She hires a young screenwriter (Holden) to help set up her movie comeback. The screenwriter believes he can manipulate her, but he soon finds out he is wrong. The screenwriter's ambivalence about their relationship and her unwillingness to let go leads to a situation of violence, madness and death.
As critics have attested, Sunset Blvd. is celebrated for its dark portrayal of Hollywood's ruthless nature and the tragic fall of silent film stars, per IMDb. Swanson and Holden deliver standout performances, of course, and the film at large is praised for its sharp dialogue, atmospheric cinematography and Wilder's reliably superb direction. Overall, it remains a poignant statement — and critique — of Hollywood's darker side. Oh you didn't know there was such a thing?
Another all-time best that Rotten Tomatoes has boasted over the years is a Ridley Scott stunner that was released nearly 30 years after Sunset Blvd.Alien (1979) stood out for its ability to blend genres, combining the tension of a horror film with the expansive world-building of science fiction. Its slow-building suspense, eerie atmosphere and groundbreaking creature design made it unlike anything audiences had seen before.
Lady Gaga Cancels Show Mid-Tour Over Serious Health Concern
Lady Gaga just shared some bad news with fans.
The pop icon was forced to cancel her Monday night show in Montreal just hours before she was scheduled to perform, citing a respiratory infection that her doctor ultimately deemed too severe to push through. In a lengthy Instagram Story addressed to her fans on April 6, Gaga didn't sugarcoat how difficult the decision was.
"Hey everyone. I'm so sorry to share that I'm unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I've been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover. But it's gotten worse,” she wrote, citing her doctors orders to rest up. “To be honest I don't think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”
A screenshot of Lady Gaga's Instagram story on April 6.The cancellation comes after two previous Montreal shows from her Mayhem Ball Tour that Gaga, 40, described as "magical and deeply meaningful" last Thursday and Friday, making the setback sting even more for fans who had traveled to catch her final Canadian date of the tour.

She made clear that falling short of her own standards simply wasn't something she was willing to do, even under pressure. "To everyone who was coming tonight, I'm absolutely heartbroken and so sorry," she added.
The cancellation comes shortly after Gaga performed her rescheduled Miami show on March 13, which was initially cancelled back in September 3, 2025 due to vocal strain.
Her next scheduled stops are Saint Paul, Minnesota and New York City, and fans are hoping the forced rest gives her enough time to recover and finish the tour on her own terms.
There has been no word yet on whether the Montreal date will be rescheduled.
