Crow's feet, or the thin lines that extend outward from the corners of your eyes, are somewhat inevitable. "Natural aging ... plays a role, since collagen production, elasticity and dermal support gradually decline with time," Dr. Whitney Tolpinrud, a board-certified dermatologist and Medical Director at Curology and Agency, tells Parade.

What Causes Crow’s Feet?

Dr. Kavita Mariwalla, a double board-certified dermatologist and the 2026 President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, describes crow's feet as "the result of movement, time and the biology of the muscle."

She says that the muscles around your eyes move when you blink, squint and smile—and that repetition adds up, explaining, "Thousands of times a day, the muscle is in motion. It's no wonder that over time that constant folding will create a wrinkle."

In addition to the repetitive movement over time, Dr. Obayomi says that smoking, dehydration, poor sleep posture and even forgetting your sunglasses can add to your crow's feet risk.

She especially highlights sun damage as a major cause. "Cumulative UV exposure breaks down the support structure that keeps skin springy and resilient," she says, adding that "daily sun protection is the single most effective anti-aging step for the eye area.

Can Skincare Products Truly Get Rid of Crow’s Feet or Just Prevent Them?

Dr. Tolpinrud says that "it is important to set realistic expectations" for your skin. She explains that while "topical skincare products can meaningfully improve the appearance of crow's feet and help prevent further progression, deep, established lines can require procedural interventions."

Dr. Tolpinrud adds that because crow's feet "are not one-size-fits-all, and the eye area is uniquely delicate," she often recommends exploring "a personalized prescription approach" like the Agency Eye Formula ($38) with tretinoin, a prescription-strength retinoid.

Still, if you're looking for an over-the-counter solution, there are plenty of options there as well.

Dr. Sejal Shah, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of SmarterSkin Dermatology NYC tells Parade that while "skin care products cannot fully correct crow's feet, especially deeper wrinkles," many topicals can still "soften existing lines and potentially prevent new ones."

What Is the Difference Between Dynamic and Static Crow’s Feet?

There are two types of crow's feet: dynamic and static. Dr. Danny Guo, a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist explains that "dynamic lines are lines that are only visible when you move your muscles," while static lines "are true folds in the skin ... [and] visible even without movement."

He adds that "untreated dynamic lines generally become static lines," which is part of why good skin care now can make all the difference later.

Why the Skin Around Your Eyes Is Prone to "Skin Longevity" Issues

"The eye area has every disadvantage when it comes to aging well," says Dr. Obayomi, adding that it's about four times as thin as your other facial skin. Add in the constant movement of the eye muscles, UV exposure, a lack of sebaceous glands for natural hydration and a thinner protective layer underneath and "all of those forces combine to make the eye area show signs of aging earlier and more visibly than almost anywhere else on the body," Dr. Obayomi says.

How To Apply Eye Products Correctly

If you're ready to give your delicate eye skin a helping hand, it's important that you don't accidentally cause more issues with your skin care product application.

"Use your ring finger, which naturally applies the least pressure of any digit," Dr. Mariwalla says. She recommends gently tapping instead of rubbing, tugging or pulling at the skin. "Start by the orbital bone and never go up to the lash line. The product will migrate on its own with movement and warmth," she continues.

Also, don't use too much of the product at once, warns Dr. Obayomi. "A pea-sized amount of product is more than enough for both eyes," she explains, adding, "Beyond that, product just sits on the surface or gets pushed where it shouldn't go."

She says to be sure to "extend product up to the brow bone and out toward the temple" to address the muscles that can create crow's feet, adding, "Skipping those zones means treating only part of the problem."

Dr. Guo emphasizes that the order you go in also matters. He recommends using vitamin C-based products in the morning, along with sun protection, and saving retinoids for nighttime use.

If you've spent any time on TikTok or Instagram lately, you've probably come across pineapple spears soaked in brightly colored jars of Kool-Aid. The viral snack has exploded across social media feeds, with creators soaking pineapple spears, chunks, and even canned pineapple in mixtures of Kool-Aid powder and sugar to create neon-red, blue, green and purple fruit that looks almost too vibrant to be real.

While the trend may feel like it appeared out of nowhere, many fans trace its popularity back to Florida-based vendor Willie Reynolds, who built a following selling his signature Kool-Aid pineapples in Pompano Beach, FL and sharing videos online. As clips of the colorful fruit spread across TikTok, home cooks quickly began recreating the snack themselves, putting their own spin on the recipe with different Kool-Aid flavors, candies and even one genius creator who added edible glitter to hers (yes, chef).

With millions of views and countless variations circulating online, Kool-Aid pineapple has become one of the internet's latest obsession-worthy food trends. But beyond the eye-catching colors and viral videos, there was one question we wanted answered: Is this sugary snack actually worth making, or is it simply another social media trend that's more fun to watch than eat?

Part of the appeal is the dramatic transformation as well as the "wow" factor. All of a sudden, your next summer party, pool day or backyard cookout just got a lot more, well, colorful. And it's a very easy trend to try, too: after just a few hours of soaking, ordinary pineapple takes on a bold color and an even sweeter flavor that's been described as tasting a bit like a Sour Patch Kid. That's all we needed to hear to head straight to the grocery store for our own pineapple and powdered drink mix and get to experimenting.

What Is the Viral Kool-Aid Pineapple?

Kool-Aid pineapple is exactly what it sounds like: pineapple soaked in a mixture of Kool-Aid powder, sugar and pineapple juice until the fruit absorbs both the flavor and the color.

The trend has evolved in a number of ways. While it originated from the back of Silly Willie's truck on the beach (where he sells the jars for $20 a pop!), some people are making the at-home version with canned pineapple chunks and simply dump the fruit and juice into a container with Kool-Aid powder. Others buy the same large plastic jars of pre-cut pineapple spears as Willie (sold at Costco and Sam's Club).

One TikTok user summed it up best, writing, “Bruh on a hot summer, a jar of these straight out of an ice-filled Yeti… shut the front door, that sounds so damn refreshing.”

Another Instagram user commented, “Perfect beach/pool snack!! Definitely making a boozy version of these ASAP!! 🔥”

Ingredients For the Viral Kool-Aid Pineapple

All you need are three ingredients for this one: Kool-Aid (any flavor you want), pineapple (either a large jar of pre-cut spears, canned pineapple or a whole fresh pineapple) and granulated sugar.

How to Make the Viral Kool-Aid Pineapple

Start by opening your jar of pineapple spears (or cutting your fresh pineapple into spears). Remove the spears and mix the juice with the Kool-Aid and about 1/2 cup of sugar. Add the spears back into the jar and give it a good shake. Refrigerate anywhere from 2-24 hours.

My Honest Thoughts About the Viral Kool-Aid Pineapple

I've made many, many viral TikTok trends over the years: cheese-wrapped pickles, the sleepy girl mocktail, and cottage cheese, well, everything. And while TikTok trends don't surprise me anymore, this is one that I was genuinely shocked by. As soon as I saw the brightly colored pineapple spears, I was transformed straight back to childhood. Well, not my childhood (I wasn't allowed Kool-Aid), but the childhood of all the cool kids in my neighborhood whose tongues were permanently stained blue, red or green all summer long. This was my chance (sorry, Mom).

I went the budget route and purchased a whole pineapple. It was significantly cheaper, and after cutting it into spears, I submerged the fruit (and all of the juice released during cutting it) into a large glass pitcher filled with a mixture of Kool-Aid, sugar and a bit of water to help everything mix together.

After a stint in the fridge, the pineapple became tangy, sweet and slightly sour all at the same time. The Kool-Aid flavor wasn't overwhelming, but it definitely changed the character of the fruit. The bright colors, the candy-like flavor and the transformation from ordinary pineapple into something completely different after only a couple of hours was magical.

There is a fair amount of hate online for this trend, mostly from people horrified by the food coloring, sugar content or sheer artificiality of it all (not to mention the $20 price tag from beach vendors selling it). While I’d rather spend about $5 making my own version at home, there’s something undeniably clever about turning pineapple and Kool-Aid into a viral side hustle and I have to respect the entrepreneurial spirit of the beach vendors selling these colorful jars.

Would I eat it every day? Probably not. Would I happily bring a jar to a pool party this summer? Absolutely. If you’re not afraid of a little food coloring (and a lot of sugar) viral Kool-Aid pineapple might just be the ultimate summer snack.

Tips for Making Viral Kool-Aid Pineapple

1. Customize it. Social media users are customizing this trend just like all the other TikTok food trends. Some are adding a pinch of salt to amplify the flavors, a squeeze of lemon for brightness or a splash of rum or vodka to make it "dirty."
2. Try a lower-sugar version. Some creators are swapping the sugar for 2 to 4 tablespoons of Stevia or another zero-calorie sweetener. Others are using sugar-free Kool-Aid mixed with water instead of the full-sugar version.
3. Wear gloves. Within minutes, my fingers were stained cherry red, a bright reminder of why I wasn't allowed Kool-Aid as a kid. Don't be like me; wear gloves when mixing this one up.

Heartbreak, politics, triumph, loss: Classic rock’s greatest power ballads pull from all kinds of intense emotion. But a certain chart-topping Van Halen anthem found inspiration in something far stranger. 

The 1986 hit “Love Walks In” owes its existence, at least in part, to the concepts promoted by Eternal Values, an alien-believing group that recruited aspiring models into its orbit and quietly built a following in the fashion world. The surprising connection is one of many revelations in Bring Me the Beauties: How to Leave a Cult, the HBO Max docuseries currently streaming with a100% Rotten Tomatoes critics score.

In the first of three episodes, viewers learn about the cult, its leader, and their teachings. Led by Manhattan socialite Frederick von Mierers, Eternal Values lured primarily models and wealthy professionals with promises of spiritual enlightenment and self-improvement, eventually gaining notoriety for its extraterrestrial teachings, financial exploitation, and bizarre lifestyle rules. 

Among its most famous members was Hoyt Richards, widely regarded as one of the highest-paid male models of the late 1980s and frequently called the world’s first male supermodel. According to Richards, Meirers approached him on a beach in Nantucket when he was 16. Mesmerized by the charismatic Mierers, Richards drank the Kool-Aid. 

Another surprising admirer, the series claims, was Sammy Hagar.

“People from all over the world started to learn who Frederick was,” Dar Dixon, a renowned actor, producer, and director who offers candid insight for the docuseries, says in the first episode. “I mean, we found out even Sammy Hagar from Van Halen had read Aliens Among Usand he loved the idea of walk-ins.”

The “walk-ins” Dixon mentions refer to the belief that alien entities or higher spiritual beings can enter and inhabit human bodies. The concept was popularized in the 1979 book Aliens Among Us, written by journalist Ruth Montgomery. Meirers claimed to be a walk-in from the star Arcturus and taught his followers they, too, were “starseeds” destined for higher purpose.

Released in July 1986, “Love Walks In” was the third single from the landmark 5150, the band’s first album with Hagar following David Lee Roth’s exit. The change also signified a sonic shift toward synthesizer-heavy arrangements and more emotional songwriting, led by Eddie Van Halen’s keyboard work. 

Whether fans knew the song's backstory or not, its lyrics clearly describe a sci-fi experience of profound love, and they ate it up. The track took on a life of its own, peaking at No. 4 on the Mainstream Rock chart and No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. Over time, “Love Walks In” evolved into a radio staple and fan-favorite of the Hagar era.

In an interview with Guitar World, via Songfacts, Hagar explained the origin of “Love Walks In,” saying, “I’m a firm believer — I’ve seen, I’ve felt, I’ve been contacted. I have received information that’s been valuable in my life. They’ve used me in an experimental fashion. The easiest way to put it is that they downloaded my brain information.”

Beyond Van Halen, the docuseries, which streams a new episode every Monday, features a nostalgia-heavy soundtrack including When in Rome’s “The Promise,” Real Life’s “Send Me an Angel,” and The Village People’s “Macho Man.” 

Ultimately, the series underscores how strange stories often travel furthest. Plenty of rock songs have crazy origin stories, but few can claim inspo from an alleged secret alien sex cult and its seedy world of models and mysticism. And that’s what makes “Love Walks In” an extraordinary power ballad.

Evelyn Clarke's "The Ending Writes Itself" was recently selected for Readworthy's June 2026 list of top fiction picks, a roundup highlighting the books generating the most buzz among readers this season. Readworthy is the editorial blog of BookBub, a popular book discovery platform that helps readers find discounted and recommended titles.

The novel has quickly become a hit with mystery fans and debuted as an instant New York Times bestseller. It also earned an early endorsement from horror icon Stephen King, who praised it months before publication.

What Is 'The Ending Writes Itself' About?

The novel centers on Arthur Fletch, a world-famous mystery author whose death leaves his final manuscript unfinished.

Six struggling writers are invited to Fletch's private Scottish island under the impression they're attending a literary retreat. Instead, they discover that the bestselling author's final novel lacks an ending.

Fletch's publisher and agent offer the group a life-changing opportunity: Whoever can write the best ending to the unfinished manuscript will receive a massive payday and the chance to relaunch their career. There's just one catch. They have only 72 hours to do it.

As the competition unfolds, the writers find themselves trapped on the island while a series of deadly events begins to unfold.

Why Readers Are Talking About It

During an April appearance on Barnes & Noble's "Poured Over" podcast, Clarke described the book as the story of "six midlist struggling authors" who arrive on a private island expecting a literary gathering before discovering their famous host is dead. The writers are then forced into a high-stakes competition to finish his final novel while isolated from the outside world.

Clarke and co-creator V. E. Schwab said they intentionally leaned into classic mystery elements while creating a story that also explores publishing, ambition and the pressures faced by working authors.

"We weren't trying to reinvent the mystery book wheel," Clarke said during the interview. "We were playing with a lot of the tropes of mysteries and we just had fun with that."

The novel has also earned praise from bestselling authors including Karin Slaughter, who called it "smart, original and completely addictive," and A. J. Finn, who described it as "the most fun I've had with a book in a very, very long time."

For mystery readers looking for a locked-room thriller with strong Agatha Christie vibes and plenty of twists, "The Ending Writes Itself" is quickly becoming one of 2026's breakout novels.

Simone Biles is opening up about a recent health scare.

On Saturday, June 6, the Olympic gold medalist, 29, shared on her Instagram Story that she was recently hospitalized for an undisclosed reason, revealing she nearly died during the ordeal.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age," Biles wrote alongside of a photo of her arm wearing hospital bracelets. "But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week."

"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life," she continued. "Especially since [husband] Jonathan [Owens] was in [Indianapolis] for practices."

Owens, 30, is a safety in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts following stints with the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears. He and Biles married in 2023 after three years of dating.

"I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later but [shoutout] to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers," Biles added. "Loooovveeee y'all."

The gymnast hasn't provided any additional details on her health scare just yet, but she did post a screenshot from an app tracking her heart rate, which showed it currently sitting at 126 beats per minute.

According to Harvard Health, a normal resting pulse rate for adult women typically ranges between 60 and 100 beats per minute, though the range for most healthy adults is between 55 and 85 beats per minute.

In addition to her last victory, Andreeva won the 2026 Linz Open, the 2026 Adelaide Invitational, the 2025 Indian Wells Masters, the 2025 Dubai Championships, and the 2024 Iasi Open. 

Following her latest win, Andreeva said, “I still cannot believe that I’m doing a press conference with a Grand Slam trophy by my side. And it’s been one of my biggest dreams in my life, and I’m just super happy that I was able to give my best and win the match and win this tournament.”

She continued, “ I’ll be honest. I've done a lot of visualizations before. Not just this tournament, but just, you know, I’ve had dreams. I’ve had a lot of thoughts on how it’s going to happen, when it’s going to happen, where. So, it’s kind of I would say that feeling in real life is so much better, obviously, than in your dreams. And it just feels amazing looking at this trophy, and you know, realizing that this is actually true and I can call myself a Grand Slam champion.”

The 19-year-old also opened up about her age, her career, and something almost every teen has in their life, social media: “I’ve obviously felt in the beginning it always feels like oh my god wow. You know, people get to know me here and there, and you know I’m here on social media here on the Internet, and everyone you know gets to know me, but also at the same time, at some point I felt like I just really wanted to be off social media and really wanted to like completely forget that all of that stuff exists.”

Andreeva added, “But I wouldn’t say that to you know, it was bothering me a lot. I would be honest, like I like that attention. So, um, when they would post me on social media, I always liked it. So, um, there was just one moment of my career where I felt like I don’t really, you know, want people to post me, but most of the time I don't mind.”

Mirra isn’t the only famous player in her family. The French Open winner’s older sister, Erika Andreeva, is also an accomplished tennis star.

And if you’re wondering about the adorable pup Andreeva was photographed with after winning the Roland-Garros, that’s her coach, Conchita Martinez’s, 11-year-old dog Luna. 

In 2003, Anna Faris was thrilled to have a role in her first "serious" film. The actress was known for comedy after starring in the first two Scary Movie films. After auditioning six months before, she learned she had won the role of Kelly in Sofia Coppola's semi-autobiographical film, Lost in Translation.

"I got the role, I think, last minute," she told Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast. "They were in Japan shooting, they were already shooting."

After telling him that she'd heard that Coppola had "offered the role to Naomi Watts" first, she addressed a rumor that she'd never been able to shake: that she'd based her performance on Cameron Diaz.

The Rumor She Couldn't Shake

The speculation made sense, as the Oscar-winning film was loosely based on Coppola and her ex-husband, Spike Jonze. A few years earlier, Jonze had directed Being John Malkovich, which starred Diaz.

As Faris portrayed her as a loud, shallow blond actress whom her husband, John, had recently worked with, many assumed Kelly was really Diaz. The question was so persistent that even Coppola addressed it in 2023, telling Rolling Stone that "It really wasn't based on her. It was a combination of a bunch of people. It was a type, so it wasn't a diss on her."

Setting the Record Straight

Now, Faris is also attempting to set the record straight, insisting she wasn't trying to parody Diaz, and she's found the persistent gossip frustrating.

"Can I tell you, I was always a little annoyed with that accusation?" Faris said. "Yeah, because it felt like it took a little something away from my flavor. And because I had auditioned for it, and earned it as that performance, I always felt like, no, I'm not part of some grand weird sabotage."

A Regretted Encounter

Years later, a perfect opportunity for closure presented itself, yet the weight of the past proved difficult to shake. Diaz came on Faris's Unqualified podcast in 2023 to talk about her new wine company, Avaline. She considered bringing it up, but ultimately decided against it. It was a decision that a part of her regretted.

"I only had 25 minutes with her, I didn't know if I should launch immediately into, like, I'm really sorry that I wasn't doing that," Faris said. "Anyway, I don't know if I handled it well."

Snickers just released a new offering that has fans racing to stores to snag them before they're gone.

As of writing, folks have found them at Walmart, specifically in the frozen section of its bakery, Instagram user @Snackgator confirmed.

The bite-sized treats, which are stored frozen but can be thawed in the refrigerator, according to the bag, are described as "dry roasted peanuts in nougat caramel cheesecake, covered in milk chocolate and topped with Snickers pieces."

On Instagram, @Markie_devo's followers were very interested in getting their hands on a bag of the Snickers Dipped Cheesecake Bites, with one declaring, "Those cheesecake bites look 🔥."

Another shared, "The Snickers cheesecake bites and the Parmesan garlic chicken soup sound amazing." (Just hopefully not together.)

Someone else commented, "On the hunt for the @snickers cheesecake bites!"

A different Instagram user pointed out, "Saw them tonight in the ice cream cake section at Walmart."

However, one follower pointed out, "Snickers Cheesecake Bites are $7 in the Walmart in my state, and IDK if I wanna pay that price."

On Facebook, fans were equally thrilled by the new Snickers offering, with one follower, who was practically drooling over the concept, writing, "The cheesecake bites🤤."

Another shared, "I just had the Snickers cheesecake bites yesterday, soooo yummy."

In 1977, a song so controversial that some radio stations refused to play it became one of the most memorable cult classics of the punk era.

"Jet Boy, Jet Girl" by Elton Motello shocked audiences with its explicit lyrics and rebellious attitude, helping cement its place as one of the most provocative records of the decade.

Nearly 50 years later, it remains a favorite among punk fans and a lasting symbol of the genre’s anything-goes spirit.

The song was fronted by songwriter and performer Alan Ward, who adopted the stage name Elton Motello, and formed a band under the same moniker. Motello recorded the track, which started as just an instrumental demo, as part of the emerging European punk movement.

“[Producer Lou Deprijck] tried to sell the idea of doing a punk single in Belgium," Ward told The Financial Times. "But it was just a track — no lyrics." Elton Motello added the lyrics, which proved to be particularly controversial.

While it never became a major mainstream hit, the song quickly developed a reputation thanks to its unapologetic lyrics, which were considered far too risqué for many broadcasters at the time.

As a result, several radio stations declined to play it, giving the song an outlaw reputation that only increased its appeal among fans.

Part of what makes "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" fascinating is its unusual relationship to another famous 1977 hit.

The song shares its backing track with "Ça Plane Pour Moi," the international smash credited to Plastic Bertrand, also known as Roger Jouret. The two recordings emerged from the same creative circle and used essentially the same music, but featured entirely different lyrics and vocal performances.

While "Ça Plane Pour Moi" became a worldwide hit thanks to its playful French-language lyrics, "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" took a far more provocative direction. The two songs became parallel versions of the same musical idea, with Bertrand's recording finding mainstream success while Elton Motello's version became the cult favorite.

Over time, many critics and fans have come to view "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" as the more daring and influential of the two tracks.

"We have all been ripped off at some point in our lives but judging by the emails I receive my lyric has touched many more people and seems to ring a chord in many more hearts than the French one will ever do," Ward said in an interview. "That's why I wrote it. If I was meant to be rich it would have happened. But I am rich in the knowledge that my thoughts will never disappear."

Its raw energy, punk attitude and willingness to challenge social conventions helped it stand out during a period when the genre was redefining what popular music could say and do.

Although it never achieved the commercial success of "Ça Plane Pour Moi," the song has enjoyed a remarkable afterlife through punk compilations, alternative radio stations and retrospective collections celebrating the genre's formative years.

Today, "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" is remembered not only for the controversy it generated but also for its lasting influence. What began as a banned record became a timeless power anthem, one that continues to embody the rebellious spirit at the heart of punk rock nearly five decades after its release.

As one of the most influential bands in the progressive rock genre,Yes is known for being rather fearless when it comes to recording a song. This is especially true with one of their most beloved hits, "Heart of the Sunrise," off the band's fourth album, Fragile. In 2023, the publication Ultimate Classic Rock ranked the 1971 epic, which lasts 11 minutes and 27 seconds, as the 19th best long rock song ever recorded.

Former singer and songwriter of Yes, Jon Anderson, opened up about writing the 1971 song in a 2009 interview. Anderson, now 81, said the song conveys the stress of living in a large city. He explained that he grew up in "the country," which made residing in London a jarring experience.

"The idea of the introduction was like a juggernaut of energy, like the city. Then at that time, you know, I was exhausted with the city of London. I just wanted to get out of there and live in the country part of England," said the musician. "So living in the city after a while, it just was getting too much."

He clarified that he and his bandmates didn't "set out to make music" about wanting to leave London. Anderson also shared the song's lyrics are about the power of meditation.

During the interview, Anderson commented on the unique musical changes throughout the song.

"Suddenly it's lovely, a very simple song. But eventually, it becomes very symbolic at the end," noted the British singer during the 2009 interview.

Anderson explained that he and his bandmates wanted "Heart of the Sunrise" to impress their audiences during live performances.

"I think in those days, it was all about what's really going to sound great on stage. 'You know, we'll record it. This is a great track, but man, it's going to sound great on stage. And the performance will be really electric, to perform this kind of music,'" said Anderson.

In 1970, one of rock music's greatest supergroups released a song that offered a softer, more intimate side of its sound.

"Our House" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young became one of the band's most beloved recordings, even if it is sometimes overshadowed by larger and more politically charged songs in the groups catalog.

Formed by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and later Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young is frequently cited among the greatest supergroups in rock history.

Each member had already achieved success before joining forces, and together they created some of the most influential music of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

"Our House" showcased a very different side of the group than songs such as "Ohio" or "Woodstock."

Written by Graham Nash, the song was inspired by his relationship with singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. The idea came after the couple returned home from buying a vase at a flea market.

"We collected the vase and drove to our house in Laurel Canyon," Nash said told Song Exploder. "And as I went through the front door, I said to Joan, I said, 'hey, Joan, why don't I light a fire and you put some flowers in that vase that you bought today?' Well, that's all I needed. While Joni was in the backyard trying to find some flowers that hadn't died yet in winter, and I was at her piano, I got the first lines and wrote the song."

That simple moment became the foundation for one of the most heartfelt songs of the era.

Featuring warm harmonies, gentle piano and lyrics celebrating everyday happiness, "Our House" stood out at a time when many rock songs focused on social upheaval, protest or larger-than-life themes.

The song appeared on the landmark album Déjà Vu, which became one of the defining releases of the singer-songwriter era.

While other tracks on the album often receive more attention from critics and historians, "Our House" has enjoyed remarkable staying power.

Its message of comfort, love and home has helped it remain a fixture on classic rock and soft rock radio for decades, a sharp contrast to how quickly it was written.

"Took me about an hour and a half, maybe," Nash said in an interview. "Simple song. It's, I mean, it really does sound does sound like poetry set to music."

The song has also appeared in countless films, television shows and commercials, introducing it to generations of listeners who may not be familiar with the rest of the group's catalog.

More than 50 years after its release, "Our House" remains a reminder that some of the most enduring songs come not from grand statements, but from life's simplest moments.

For Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, it stands as an overshadowed classic, one that continues to resonate long after its era has passed.

How I Tested These White Summer Dresses

Since I wear sundresses religiously throughout the warmer months, testing 13 was easy-peasy—and oh-so enjoyable. Gap is one of my favorite stores for literally everything, from jeans and cozy sweats to chic basics. It’s also one of the first places I shop when I’m searching for a statement-worthy ‘fit, like this stylish yet breezy Lace-Up Corset Maxi Dress. It screams “effortlessly cool" and this one is a total must-have for summer.

I styled mine with brown cowgirl boots from Boot Barn and a beachy cowgirl hat, because the whole WesternDutton Ranch vibe is having a major fashion moment right now.

The dress is incredibly versatile, making it an ideal choice for backyard barbecues, cocktails with the besties or a summer date night with your favorite someone. The fit, length, lining, soft cotton fabric and construction are all notable features. The dress offers minimal sheerness, which I was so happy about. In fact, I wasn't self-conscious at all about undergarments showing through.

The adjustable straps help create the perfect fit, while the lace-up bodice detail gives the dress its flattering shape once you slip into it. Some corset styles tend to look a bit cheap, but this dress is classy—and it’s easily one of my favorite looks this season.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised—and excited—about the sundress finds at Walmart. They’re incredibly budget-friendly, so I ended up grabbing several. (Because, let’s be honest: You can never have too many sundresses!)

This flirty, 100% cotton mini sundress by No Boundaries is embellished with embroidery, and I consider it the best bargain find of the season. With a $15 price tag, you truly can’t afford not to have it in your summer wardrobe rotation. In fact, the dress is fully lined, providing the perfect amount of coverage. It’s perfect for picnics in the park, ice cream dates, breezy beach days and more.

I’m wearing an XS, and I found it fits true to size. Although it’s machine-washable, I prefer to hand wash to help preserve the embroidery.

3. Best Strapless: Poplin Drop-Waist Maxi Dress, $94 (originally $118) at GAP

This soft poplin cotton dress is technically labeled a maxi, but I’d personally describe it as more of a midi, coming in at the perfect length. It comes with optional spaghetti straps, but I prefer wearing it strapless for an extra-feminine touch.

The only feature I wasn’t too crazy about is the zipper, which didn’t go up and down as easily as I’d hoped. That said, I’m totally obsessed with the look—and the length—for elevated occasions like weekend brunch, polo matches or an aesthetically pleasing coastal getaway.

This sundress fits true to size, and the material all-around looks and feels well-made. It's a "thicker" lightweight fabric, so nobody can see through—and I didn't even need to wear a bra.

This dress can seamlessly be styled with kitten heels for a dressier look or flat sandals for savvy plans that give off that effortless, “I just tossed this on” vibe. While I love the off-white, this style is also available in red star, terra brown and navy blue dots.

Sundresses are genuinely my summer uniform. I typically look for ones that are comfortable, effortless and can easily take me from daytime errands and coffee dates to casual evening plans. Essentially, I love that everyday dress kind of vibe, and this pick from American Eagle gives exactly that.

Although the fabric is very dainty and carefree, the lining makes this sundress an easy option to slip on without worrying about undergarment lines. The baby doll fit and mini length are flirty, cool and can be dressed up or down. I love wearing mine with a cute pair of flip-flops for running around town. This dress looks just as sweet styled with a baseball cap and white Converse.

5. Best Flirty Silhouette: Cap Sleeve Button Front Mini Dress, $59.95 at Hollister

This lace-trimmed mini is relaxed, oh-so-pretty and everything I love about a sweet little summer sundress. It’s made of a cotton and polyester blend, is fully lined for ideal coverage and features button detailing in the front.

The feature I love most is the cap sleeves, which add an extra-feminine touch and make the dress feel even more graceful. It’s one of those closet staples I just want to slip into and hop on my beach cruiser for a ride to the market for some iced coffee and a fresh bouquet of blooms.

This pick can easily be styled with sneakers and a baseball cap, cowgirl boots and a belt, or flat sandals and a coordinating handbag, making it a great staple for your next summer getaway—wherever that may be. Even though this isn't available in white anymore, fingers crossed that they bring that option back soon.

I’m in love with so much about this dress: from the halter neck and keyhole detail to the soft woven cotton fabric, which feels thicker and more substantial than a lot of the other sundresses I tested. In other words, you don’t have to worry about this adorable little number flying up if you get caught in a gust of wind! (There also wasn’t a need for me to wear a strapless bra due to the fabric's durability.) It was hands-down the most opaque.

The style itself is super unique and stands out against many other sundresses on the market. It’s very flirty and has a subtle Marilyn Monroe vibe to it. I first paired mine with a colorful head scarf, but you can easily style it with a sun hat (as seen above) or loose braids and a pair of statement sunglasses.

7. Best Preppy Look for Less: Cut-Out Apron-Neck Mini Shift Dress, $22.49 (originally $44.99) at Old Navy

This shift dress from Old Navy is one of those classy, timeless pieces that deserve a spot in everyone’s wardrobe. The high, straight neckline is so flattering, and I’m a big fan of the delicate eyelet detailing throughout.

From the minute I put it on, this dress gave me a Lilly Pulitzer-inspired aesthetic—but for a mere fraction of the designer price tag (and with a more versatile color). I paired mine with a vibrant orange beaded bag and coordinating sandals. 

The only caveats? This style runs big. I’m a true XS, and it felt pretty oversized on me, so it will likely need to be taken in. It's also a bit sheer; however, the looser cut is forgiving, making undergarment lines less noticeable.

If you’re always on the go like me, having an active sundress—or a few—on standby is essential. That’s where this sweet little number from Athleta comes in clutch in the bright white/eclipse colorway. 

Whether I’m heading to the airport for a full travel day, getting my steps in on the track or even hitting balls on the golf course, comfort—without sacrificing style—is everything. I also appreciate the sweat-wicking fabric and built-in shorts, which feature a back opening so you can easily pull them down and up to use the bathroom without having to take the entire dress off. (The phone pocket is a total plus!)

This pick from Kohl’s is quite possibly the most perfect flowy summer dress. Whether you toss it on over your swimsuit for the pool, beach or sailing, rest assured, it’s incredibly breathable and seamless to move in. Plus, at the $35 original price point, this purchase is truly a no-brainer.

I purchased mine in a size small, and it definitely ran big on me. Since I’ll likely wear it as a cute cover-up because it's the sheerest out of the sundresses I tested, I didn’t mind the sizing. After all, the relaxed, flowy fit is what keeps it feeling breezy and cool in the sizzling summer heat.

When I think of a playful yet romantic white sundress, this pick from Windsor immediately comes to mind. The lace-up back design and A-line mini-length silhouette are incredibly flattering, and I’m totally in love with the lace fabric and ruffled trim. I was happy this featured a solid lining under the lace.

Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day doesn't open until June 12. The early reactions are already in, and everyone seems to be talking about the same person.

Emily Bluntplays Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City television meteorologist who, in the film's pivotal opening scene, loses the ability to speak on live air, overtaken by something extraterrestrial and entirely unexplainable. It is, by multiple accounts, one of the more electric character introductions in recent Spielberg memory. Collider's Steven Weintraub, who saw the film ahead of its official opening, called Blunt's work flat-out incredible and urged audiences to stop watching trailers and go in fresh. New Rockstars critic Erik Vosssaid it may be 'the best performance of her career.'

The Mary Sue described the film as a spiritual companion to both Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T., noting that Blunt carries the emotional register across comedy, thriller, and something close to heartbreak, sometimes within the same scene. Critic Jairo Jiménezwrote on social media that Blunt and co-star Josh O'Connor form 'a magnetic and beautifully human couple,' calling the performances the best of both their careers.

The key scene opening scene that kicks off the mystery, in which Margaret begins speaking in a clicking, non-human language during a live weather broadcast, required Blunt to make a decision that shows how seriously she took role. On a recent episode of Hot Ones, Blunt explained that she could have taken the AI route to generate the alien sounds. She declined. 'I thought I could make some really strange sounds,' she told host Sean Evans. Instead, she went into a recording session and created the clicks, hums, and consonant patterns herself. 'I did sort of the clicking sounds, I did sort of humming sounds, consonant sounds, breathing strange sounds.' The scene, as shot, runs four minutes as a single take.

Blunt had already offered a clue about the film's existential questions in the June 2026 edition of Empire. 'There are definitely questions posed by Close Encounters that are answered in Disclosure Day,' she said. That idea has increased both the fan speculation around the film's relationship to the 1977 classic and the anticipation around her specific role in it.

Blunt is already well known to audiences from The Devil Wears Prada, A Quiet Place, and her Oscar-nominated work in Oppenheimer. What the first reactions are describing is something different from any of those, a lead performance built on a character Blunt described as someone who has 'walked through life with itchy fingertips', always sensing she didn't belong where she was, until the moment she does.

Disclosure Day opens nationwide in theaters and IMAX on June 12.

Hollywood Vampires, the chart-topping supergroup, delivered an interesting way of updating fans with exciting news ahead of their tour.

With superfans thrilled to see the four-piece band composed of Alice Cooper, also known as the "Godfather of Shock Rock," award-winning actor Johnny Depp, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Crossbone Skully’s Tommy Henriksen reunite on stage, they fueled the anticipation by bringing out Depp’s iconic character.

In the latest video shared on Instagram, Hollywood Vampires featured Captain Jack Sparrow, but instead of the A-lister, acclaimed cosplayer Dan Kneale appeared to unveil the unexpected announcement.

“Im just here to remind you that the Hollywood Vampires are touring this summer in the U.K. and Europe. Have you got your tickets yet?” he asked in the video and mentioned the release of the special tickets.

In addition, Hollywood Vampires have invited a pair of acclaimed acts to join them on stage. Their special guests for the U.K. leg of the tour include The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Damned.

Besides their return on a full-scale tour, the supergroup is also set to release a documentary highlighting how the band was formed and evolved into one of rock’s most celebrated groups today.

“Well, we’re working on a documentary,” Perry told Eddie Trunk of SiriusXM as cited by Blabbermouth. “It’s got some great stuff on it. I just saw a rough cut. And it’s pretty amazing.”

Molly Sims is issuing a warning to women to avoid marrying "cheap" men.

The model and entrepreneur, 53, who just returned to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the eighth time, has strong feelings about the type of men women should avoid. During a conversation on the Hot Smart Rich podcast, Sims issued a stark warning, advising other women to avoid cheap men.

"Don't f---ing marry them," Sims shared, opening up about how she and husband Scott Stuber navigate finances in their relationship. "We were trying to figure out all of our finances and you know he had had a bad situation before he met me and you know his people were very, very hard with me and look, it hurt me, I'm not going to lie," she said, adding, "I can see why, because you want to — when something goes wrong — you want to protect, you know, for the future. You have to know about your financial portfolio. Good, bad, ugly."

Sims went on to say, "If someone is cheap, don't marry them. If someone doesn't align with how you raise your children, how you look at money, how you see things, right? Like, it's so important to be aligned," PEOPLE reported.

What To Know About the Ladder App

If you’re curious about the Ladder app, I’ll take you through my experience signing up and testing out the app so you can see if it’s the right fit for you and your needs.

Signing up involves a series of questions, which ultimately helps Ladder curate the best plan for you. It’s based on your main fitness goal, how many workouts you typically do per week, your strength training experience, how often you lift weights and whether you fall into beginner, intermediate or advanced level.

You can choose up to three exercise preferences, from bodybuilding to kettlebell training to functional training. I chose yoga, Pilates and strength/conditioning workouts. 

The next step is to choose the type of equipment you’d like to train with, taking into consideration what you have at home. I selected dumbbells, resistance bands and bodyweight exercises, but basically every type of equipment is listed.

The app then compiles the perfect training plan—and pairs you with a coach—based on your goals and preferences. Ladder recommends up to three “teams,” which are coaches and programs inspired by your responses.

I was matched up with Coach Maia, who is a strength and Pilates instructor, and Apple Watch users can easily check performance stats right from their device.

Ladder Fitness App Review: My Honest Thoughts

I wanted to be realistic with my capabilities and not over-extend myself. Because of this, I aimed for three workouts per week during my test period. In this way, I was able to make my routine sustainable. I think this is truly essential in any fitness regimen, because if something isn’t seamless to keep up with, it’s all too easy to quit. (I surprised myself one day and felt motivated to even fit in another session without pressure!)

It’s flexible

The Ladder app’s flexibility makes it a perfect fit for my ever-changing but always-busy workload. It’s so convenient to leave my home office and hit up my home gym for a 30-minute session, depending on what time of each day works best for me.
