In the early ‘70s, lightning struck for Jethro Tull not once, but twice.

First, in 1972, the band topped Billboard’s album chart with Thick as a Brick, an album that featured a single nearly 45-minute song that was split into two parts to accommodate both sides of a vinyl LP.

The album held the pole position for two weeks on top of such classics as Roberta Flack’s First Take, Neil Young’s Harvest, Crosby & Nash’s self-titled effort and Manassas by their sometimes bandmate Stephen Stills.

If that wasn’t odd enough, Jethro Tull managed to achieve the feat again a year later with Passion Play, an album, like its predecessor, that only includes one song split into two parts to fill both sides of an LP. (These days on streaming services, the album is broken up into 15 tracks).

After Thick as a Brick hit No. 1, the band’s label, Chrysalis Records, released Living in the Past, a compilation album of the group’s earlier recordings. The title track from that album became the band’s first hit single, reaching No. 11, while the album peaked at No. 3.

Yet, A Passion Play was the true follow-up to Think as a Brick and followed that album’s template of featuring a single lengthy song for the entirety of the album.

While Jethro Tull leader Ian Anderson has high praise for Thick as a Brick, he considers A Passion Play a misfire, despite its commercial success.

“When we came to A Passion Play, we probably fell into the trap and made that slight error in judgment of coming with something that took itself much too seriously,” he said in an interview for The Billboard Book of Number One Albums. “The follow-up concept album probably lacked the little element of humor and self-parody, which was apparent on Thick as a Brick.”

The sessions for the album, which were initially held at Chateau D’Herouville in France, located on the outskirts of Paris, also proved to be troublesome due to health and technical problems.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think a week went by without somebody in the band being really seriously ill with some sort of gastrointestinal problem,” he recalled. “The food and catering were not what we were used to.”

The band returned home to England and entered a studio there but were unable to recapture the magic. “We had overworked that music to the point that it was really easy to start again with a completely clean sheet and move on to something else,” Anderson added.

The album featured the members of Tull offering an elaborate musical soundtrack, featuring numerous instruments, including saxophone, glockenspiel and marimba, and lyrics that attacked religion along with the fairy-tale-like “The Story of the Hare Who Lost His Spectacles.” However, the album was panned by critics, many of whom had praised Thick as a Brick. “That certainly did the album a lot of harm,” Anderson recalled, noting the album reached No. 1 in a mere five weeks in August 1973, but then quickly fell down the chart.

Richard Gere got emotional talking about his 26-year-old actor son Homer. He told People how good he thinks his son is. Homer, whom the 76-year-old Pretty Woman star shares with his second wife, Carey Lowell, recently starred in two episodes of Euphoria. Homer played Dylan Reid in the HBO show and shared a racy scene with Sydney Sweeney.

"One, he's really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he's doing. But he's also handling it really well. He's a good kid. He's a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So I think he can stay," Richard told the outlet.

Although Richard admits he has yet to see those scenes with Sweeney. "I still need to see his second episode of Euphoria, but he has this big thing coming up with Ryan Murphy, and he just finished shooting a film with Oliver Stone," Gere said.

Homer is next set to star with Kaia Gerber in the Ryan Murphy-produced series The Shards, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. Kaia is the daughter of Richard's ex, Cindy Crawford.

"So I can retire now. I'm passing the torch," Richard joked.

When asked whether Homer is committing to staying in the industry, Richard wasn't sure because "he's got to make a life choice to commit to this if he's doing this now." He added: "He's good at it and he's having fun, but he can become a rock climber if he wants to do that."

The Primal Fear star admitted he never had his sights set on Hollywood, in fact, he was also a musician. "I was a studio musician and had a lot of other things going on. But acting was the one that kind of brought it all together — my interest in psychology, philosophy, music, art."

Homer did tell Peoplein a separate interview that his dad is someone who "gives great advice" and that he calls every day as a "sounding board."

"It's not necessarily related to like the craft, but more like how do you carry yourself, how do you make this work in a positive way," Homer explained.

If you've seen a certain movie from the 1980s, chances are you've pulled the "ghostbusters" joke in everyday conversation. Whenever someone asks, "Who are you gonna call?" you can't help but reply with the in-universe answer.

Monday, June 8 marks exactly 42 years since Ghostbusters premiered, becoming both a critical and commercial success and ultimately launching a massive franchise — which is still going strong today with additional film entries.

The supernatural comedy holds an impressive 95% average critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which offers this synopsis:

"After the members of a team of scientists (Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray) lose their cushy positions at a university in New York City, they decide to become 'ghostbusters' to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York from complete destruction."

The late film critic Roger Ebert gave the flick 3 1/2 stars out of 4, writing at the time: "Ghostbusters is a head-on collision between two comic approaches that have rarely worked together very successfully. This time, they do. It’s (1) a special-effects blockbuster, and (2) a sly dialogue movie, in which everybody talks to each other like smart graduate students who are in on the joke."

Then there's the iconic theme song, by Ray Parker Jr. He once opened up in a MusicRadar article about being approached by the senior vice president of Columbia’s music division for the rather unique opportunity.

"He thought that I was the guy to do it so much that he said, ‘There will be 20 songwriters at the meeting but we’re going to pay you 50 grand, to just to write a song,'" Parker, 72, said in the 2024 article. "'Whether we use or not you get to keep the money. I want you to stay here three more days and do this.' I thought he was crazy."

There was a catch. They needed it done in just three days. But he got it done, and the rest is history.

Kimiko Glenn is best known for her acting roles, but the Orange Is the New Black star is now stepping into a new role: pop singer.

Known for her roles across Broadway and TV shows and films like Orange is the New Black, Liza on Demand, Baby Shark and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the 36-year-old actress has been working on a new project — a music career. Under the name KIMIKO, Glenn independently released her latest single “Just Like That” on May 29, where she sings about getting emotionally fixated on someone who gives inconsistent attention. It is set to be one of the tracks in her debut EP, Modern Dance, which is scheduled for release sometime this summer.

In mid-May, Glenn performed a mix of unreleased songs at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, where she was one of the openers for rising pop star Maty Noyes. One week later, I met Glenn via Zoom, where she was chatting with me from her friend’s apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Glenn states that her “eclectic” taste was shaped by her parents and her own interest in musical theater. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, before living in New York City and Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. 

“I feel like I grew up with a lot of Queen and Celine Dion. Obviously, The Divas. I loved The Carpenters, [and] just a lot of random stuff. [And] Michael Jackson,” Glenn tells me. Her friends also introduced her to Regina Spektor in high school, and she has always been her top artist. “I just think she’s so descriptive and interesting and specific, and her stories are so bizarre and also so moving. Her musicality is just epic.”

As for the music she is releasing under KIMIKO, Glenn is very inspired by the female artists that are popular today, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Lily Allen, Chappell Roan, St. Vincent and Taylor Swift. 

On her upcoming EP, Modern Dance, which she hopes to release in July, Glenn explores the awkwardness and complications of modern dating and situationships.

“If you’ve seen modern dance, really, it’s the opposite of ballet. It’s kind of like experimental, almost artistic-looking. It’s not as fluid and beautiful and gorgeous and perfect as ballet,” Glenn said. “At times, it’s stiff and disjointed and weird and awkward, and that’s what dating feels like in this modern day, and so that is the metaphor of modern dance.”

That theme was on full display during her Hotel Cafe set, where several songs drew directly from her own dating experiences. Before singing her second song of the night, “Threw Up In A Bush,” an unreleased song about a guy Glenn was seeing at the time who literally threw up in a bush after a night out, she tells the audience that some of her songs are about a guy friend she was hooking up with, but he was in a relationship with another girl for seven years.

Though Glenn says that 95% of her dating experiences have been horrid and it’s become an inspiration for her art, it was never fun to go through. But with Modern Dance, Glenn hopes that listeners sense that, compared to her acting work, Glenn is really playful and finds humor in the situation. 

“I think there will be a poignancy, but also, I don’t want it all to feel gloom and doom, so that’s why there always has to be a sense of humor with it all,” Glenn explains. “Also, hopefully, they’ll be like, ‘Oh, she sings, and I really like her lyrics, and I want to hear more.’ Hopefully, that’s what people leave with too.”

Despite how difficult it is to date these days and how expensive it is to bring a child into this world, Glenn has hope and still desires to get married and become a mother one day. 

“I’ve always felt a maternal calling. I’ve always wanted to be a mother. I thought that was my life’s purpose, and it sucks because I think the world has informed me otherwise,” she admitted. “Not only is it incredibly difficult to find a partner who can be a partner, like, that’s kind of a major issue. Like, I don’t see many men looking like husbands or fathers.”

Glenn tells me that she isn’t dating or seeing anyone at the moment and has stopped trying. But if someone were to express interest, she is open to that.

“I’m in a place of, like, I don’t know if there’s hope, but also, I hope that there’s hope. I’m seeking the betterment of men and people learning the right lessons, and hopefully coming to the right conclusions and being better to one another,” said Glenn. “It’s not that I’ve abandoned hope of that, but I had to loosen my grip on it.”

Carowinds, the regional amusement park that sits on the North Carolina-South Carolina stateline, is making a splash in 2027. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has announced Rip Roarin’ Falls, a world-record-breaking super flume attraction.

“The new attraction combines the timeless appeal of traditional log flume rides with revolutionary thrills and immersive storytelling for a new generation of families and thrill-seekers,” a press release shared. One of the tallest water rides ever constructed, it will smash records and welcome the world’s first super flume mega drop at more than 100 feet. Other notable features include the tallest reverse camelback, tallest reverse drop and tallest log flume drop.

At a duration of 6.5 minutes, Rip Roarin’ Falls will reach top speeds of 50 mph and climb over 100+ feet during the 2,240 foot long ride. It is currently under construction and will be on the same site of the former Rip Roarin’ Rapids attraction, a fan-favorite water ride that was retired in 2019. The new ride’s loading station was designed with the guest experience in mind and will have increased rider capacity, ultimately reducing wait times. The minimum height requirement is 35 inches when accompanied by a guest 16 years or older, and 41 inches when unaccompanied.

Rip Roarin’ Falls is part of Carowinds' recent period of significant growth, with more than 20 rides and attractions added since 2015, including Snoopy’s Racing Railway. It will join other signature attractions that have defined the park’s lineup, including award-winning roller coasters Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike.

The park is also launching a membership program which provides a new way for visitors to save money on unlimited admission. The program includes access to seasonal events, including WinterFest and SCarowinds, a premier Halloween event. Admission is included for the rest of 2026, plus 2027 for the debut of Rip Roarin’ Falls.

Since winning American Idol, Hannah Harper has gained a lot. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut with Carrie Underwood, the two singing Harper’s original song, “String Cheese,” which was her audition song for Idol; she released two singles, “String Cheese” and “Married Into This Town;” and she announced her upcoming “String Cheese” tour, which begins June 20 in Willow Springs, MO, and runs through Nov. 14 in Bartlett, TN.

The first female country artist to win American Idol since Underwood’s victory more than 20 years ago still has trouble believing all the life changes, since just a year ago, she was a stay-at-home mom of three with husband Devon Mendenhall, but now she’s getting ready to leave her home in Willow Springs, MO, and  head out on the road.

The one thing she doesn’t have that she wishes she could take with her are the two vocal coaches she worked with during her time on American Idol, Baraka May and Felicia Barton.

“Both of those women taught me so much, I didn't want to end it,” she told Parade in an exclusive interview. “I was like, ‘You guys need to come on the road with me forever, because they did such an amazing job. They’re confidence builders also. They weren't just coaches. They were training me in a lot of other ways to perform.”

Truth be told, the Idol contestants spend more time working with the behind-the-scenes coaches than they do with the judges. May does a lot of voice acting for Disney, and can be heard in Frozen II, Encanto and Coco, to name a few, and Barton, who appeared on the eighth season of American Idol in 2009 and currently sings with the band, has co-written songs for Demi Lovato and Lea Michele, and  is also the lead singer for the theme song of the 2017 reboot of the Disney animated series DuckTales.

“Baraka coached me in Hawaii, and it was probably the first time that I've ever had to physically perform,” Harper continued. “I think she had to coach me more mentally and emotionally than vocally because it was such a challenge for me to overcome moving my body even an inch. I am still stiff as a board -- still working on that. Both of those women just poured into me the entire time, taught me different techniques, whether it's breathing or singing from different positions in my head and my chest, all the things. I went into Idol knowing how to sing, but I didn't know how to do it properly. I was like, ‘OK, there's more to this than just opening my mouth.’”

The other thing Harper wouldn’t mind is some company from her Idol fellow contestants. She has made lifelong friends in Kyndal Inskeep, Genevieve Heyward, and Jordan McCullough, who she claims kept her grounded.

“Genevieve went home the first week we were there, but those girls were my roomies,” Harper shares. “Once we got on set, we shared a dorm together. I don’t know what you’d call it, like a dressing room. I got to know them and it was really nice. And Jordan, he was like a therapist the whole journey. He’s a worship leader and he also does counseling. I am well aware of what the Word says, but he would make sure I stayed in touch with reality. He’d say, ‘The Bible says this, this and this,' if you need me, let me know. He prayed over me several times during the competition. So, those are lifelong relationships.”

American Idol has not yet been given an official pickup for 2027, but auditions are taking place just in case.

After more than a decade away from the stage, one of rock's most beloved bands is officially back.

On Sunday, June 7, Rush kicked off its highly anticipated Fifty Something tour in Los Angeles, marking the group's first run of performances since 2015. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson returned to the stage alongside acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles, who stepped into the role once occupied by the late Neil Peart.

The opening night set featured 24 songs spanning the band's decades-long career, including fan favorites like "Tom Sawyer” and "Limelight." Longtime listeners were also treated to several deeper cuts that hadn't been performed in years, including "Freewill," "Vital Signs," and "La Villa Strangiato."

Singer-songwriter Aimee Mann also joined the band at one point for the first-ever live performance of "Time Stand Still," the 1987 track on which she originally appeared—another incredibly big deal.

“Rush brought out Aimee Mann for Time Stand Still I’m losing my sh*t,” one person on X shared.

Another wrote, “This is so bittersweet. Amiee Mann joining Rush for Time Stand Still and the tribute to Neil Peart on the screen.”

“The roar that the crowd gave when @realaimeemann first hit the mic during Rush’s Time Stand Still” was the correct response,” a fan claimed on Threads.

And Peart's presence was still felt during the show. According to concert reports, the legendary drummer appeared in a series of digital tributes projected throughout the performance, including images of him drumming among the stars. Peart passed away in 2020 following a battle with brain cancer.

The return didn't happen overnight. In a recent interview with Rick Beato, Lee admitted he essentially had to relearn much of Rush's catalog once the setlist was finalized. Even after decades of performing the songs, some still present a challenge.

"There’s complexity in performance due to the fact that I’m very rarely just the bass player," Lee explained while discussing the band's music. He specifically pointed to "Anarchist" as one of the most difficult songs to perform because of the demands of singing and playing simultaneously.

With dates scheduled through April 2027, all that preparation appears to be paying off.

To mark National Best Friends Day on Monday, June 8, the country icon shared a sweet throwback photo with her longtime best friend, Judy Ogle, along with a heartfelt message about everything Ogle has meant to her, on Instagram.

In the caption, Parton credited Ogle with carrying a little piece of their home state of Tennessee with her throughout her career. She wrote that Ogle traveled with her, worked as her assistant and was always there when she needed her, and that the two shared years of adventures and laughs along the way.

Parton and Ogle's bond goes all the way back to childhood. The two met as kids in Tennessee, growing up together long before Parton became a superstar, and have stayed close for more than six decades. Ogle has been a steady behind-the-scenes presence throughout Parton's career, sometimes traveling with her to quiet, remote spots so the singer can work far from the spotlight.

For fans, the tribute is a sweet reminder that even one of the most famous women in the world treasures the same thing the rest of us do: a friend who has been there since the very beginning.

While the 1980s produced plenty of pop radio hits, the decade is also known for its exploration of grittier genres, like punk rock. Far Out magazine recently spotlighted some of the top punk albums released in the '80s. The publication's ranking of "the 10 best punk albums from the 1980s," included popular records like The Clash's Combat Rock from 1982, Milo Goes to College by the Descendents, also released in 1982, and Black Flag's Damaged from 1981.

According to Far Out magazine, the top '80s punk album is Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables by the Dead Kennedys, released in 1980. The publication complimented the album for its songs, like "Kill The Poor," "When Ya Get Drafted," and "Chemical Warfare," which are steeped in biting social commentary.

Jello Biafra Shared What Some of the Songs From 'Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables' Meant

Shortly after Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables was released, the San Francisco punk band's singer, Jello Biafra, discussed the album during an interview with British musician Julian Miles Holland. When asked about "Kill The Poor," he explained that the song "is sarcastic," and meant to unmask "villains causing certain problems," specifically individuals with great wealth and power who don't have any regard for those affected by poverty. In addition, he said that the album's song, "California Über Alles," "warns of fascism in disguise."

While speaking to Holland, Biafra also explained that he and his bandmates did not mean to offend members of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy's family when coming up with the Dead Kennedys name.

"It's a name not meant to be a slap on the Kennedy family, so much as to call attention to what happened after they were killed. Why people in this country turned more and more inward and became more and more self-centered, and as a result that set themselves up to be the corporate-serving rodents that they are today," said Biafra, now 67.

For months, the residents of Fairmont Crest on CBS Daytime’s Beyond the Gates have been unknowingly terrorized by an illegal organization stealing plasma from both Garland Memorial Hospital and the Phoenix Street Clinic. At the top of the organization was a mysterious boss, known simply as The Impaler. Today, June 8, 2026, the mastermind was finally unmasked when Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) came face to face with his sister, Heather Armstrong, played by daytime icon Ashley Jones. Now, Jones speaks exclusively to Parade for the first time since joining the soap opera about what led to her becoming the Impaler, when she found out about the role, what it's been like joining the soap and working with legends such as Lindstrom and Lauren Buglioli, and whether she is still filming episodes.

For nearly five months, Jones has kept her role and identity a secret from Beyond the Gates fans, and she is excited to finally break her silence and see fans’ reactions on social media.

From Holiday Parties to Fairmont Crest

For Jones, the journey to Beyond the Gates started over the Christmas holiday. “I have known Michele Val Jean, the creator, for a very long time, and we often go to the same parties and events, especially surrounding TheBold and the Beautiful,” she explained. “I saw her at Christmas, and she kept staring at me. We were talking, but she was looking at me differently. Finally, she said, 'I’m putting you on a list. Are you available? Would you want to work together for a little bit?'”

Jones jumped at the chance of once again working with the Daytime Emmy-winning show runner. But it wasn’t as simple as signing on the dotted line, as Jones had to audition for the part. “The last time I read for daytime was The Young and the Restless when I was 17 years old,” she shared. The reason for that? Jones explained that this character would be very different from the role she is most recognized for, Bridget Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Unmasking Daytime's Newest Villain

Jones revealed that she learned very early on, in the audition scenes, that she would be the Impaler; however, she didn’t really know what that meant. “I hadn't watched enough of the show, so I did a little research, and I was like, ‘Oh, they talk about the Impaler a decent amount,’ and then I knew that I was somehow related to Joey Armstrong.”

“So, I knew those two things, and I knew she was the head of a crime ring, and that was kind of all the information I got.” Jones elaborated that she began gathering more information once she arrived on set.

She explained how those around her helped catch her up on what is going on. “Julie Hanan Carruthers, the executive producer, Michele Val Jean, as well as Jon Lindstrom and Lauren Bugiloli, have all been really helpful and kind of catching me up to date on what’s been talked about.”

Jones explained that she had many questions to play into, “Not only where did the letter she wrote Joey come from? But where has she been for so long? What has she been doing, and why does she want to be near Joey?”

She was excited to find those answers out together with the audience and her co-stars. “I'm a very lucky girl to get to work with all these people right now.”

Jones hopes that audiences will take the time to get to know and invest in Heather. “This is probably one of the more complicated characters I've ever played. There's a lot to her,” she shared.

“Obviously, at this point, people will know she's the Impaler. She's kind of the villain. I haven't played this in Daytime really ever,” she added.

Humanizing 'The Impaler'

Despite playing Daytime Television's newest villain, Jones doesn’t believe Heather is all bad. “The thing about people that do stuff like this is that no one walks around thinking they're all bad. Jones explained that viewers will get to see how complex of a character Heather really is, “They'll dive into her childhood; they'll dive into the backstory. You're gonna get a lot of her, and I hope people relate to her on some level. So that's my hope. I hope they invest in her,” she said.

Thankfully for the actress and fans, there will be plenty of time for fans to get to know Heather and see the story unravel, as Jones revealed, “I'm still shooting episodes, so she stuck around,” Jones explained with a smile.

A suspect was just named in a kidnapping less than 7 miles from Nancy Guthrie's house in Tucson, Ariz., as Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom remains missing.

On Monday, June 8, Fox News Digital reporter Michael Ruiztook to X to report that a 40-year-old woman, Coral Michelle Smith, is wanted by the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Smith is wanted "in connection with a kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon case less than 7 miles from Nancy Guthrie's home," Ruiz reported. "There's NO indication that the cases are connected."

The alleged incident happened on May 29 at the intersection of River Road and La Cholla Boulevard in Tucson, roughly 6.8 miles from Nancy's home, per Fox News Digital.

Although the PCSD didn't release details about Smith's alleged crimes, she reportedly has a rap sheet dating back more than a decade—including a different kidnapping allegation, robbery, disorderly conduct, and drug charges. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, and has blond hair with blue eyes.

"Notably—no wrist tattoo," Ruiz added, referencing photos and videos of a masked suspect that the FBI released from a doorbell camera on Nancy's front porch.

A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to Smith's arrest. Meanwhile, more than $1.2 million in reward money is up for grabs in Nancy's case.

Nancy, 84, was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, DNA evidence, including a hair sample, is still being processed as investigators continue to pore through tips. No suspect has been named in Nancy's case.

Sweet revenge is Hannah Berner turning her firing from Summer House and Bravo's Chat Room into comedy gold, ultimately landing two hit stand-up specials.

After being able to put some distance between that tumultuous time, Berner is reflecting on the tough moment that she now views as "iconic."

"It was a matter of, ‘You need everyone to be friends.’ Not everyone was getting along. It was a choice … I was gonna be the one kiboshed,” Berner said on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast. “I just say, getting fired [equals] star power. It’s a thin line between love and hate. Getting fired, they were like, ‘You’re too much for reality TV.’ I was like, ‘Iconic.’”

Chat Room was Bravo's short-lived, Zoom-based talk show launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. The series struggled to find its footing and lasted just one season. Meanwhile, Berner's star was rising during her final season of Summer House, where she returned to the Hamptons hoping to explore unresolved feelings for Luke Gulbranson—only for him to arrive with newcomer Ciara Miller, setting the stage for one of the show's most memorable love triangles. She left both shows in 2021.

While some reality TV stars may have felt the firings were a gut punch, Berner said it only fueled her goals of letting her comedy career soar.  

"I get a call, ‘You’re fired from Summer House, you’re fired from Chat Room.’ And I remember thinking, ‘Now I need to get a Netflix special,’” she recalled. “I got such a chip on my shoulder. ‘Cause you have to be crazy to stand up every night. You have to have some kind of addict mentality. And I remember thinking, ‘I love when people put me down or cut me out, or I feel like no one wants me here.’ And to come back stronger. I just love that. I love the rising of the phoenix. I love the underdog.”

She added, “Also, no one in reality TV gets a Netflix special. So I was like, ‘Let’s f—king go.’ I never put any of my energy towards hurting anyone. I literally was like, ‘And now we’re moving on.’”

Fast forward a few years, and Berner has multiple stand-up specials on streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu. She's also the cohost of the Giggly Squad podcast, which boasts about half a million listeners every month.

The attack Lizzo is referring to is the lawsuit filed against her, her production company and her dance captain by three backup dancers in August 2023. The lawsuit accused them of sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, false imprisonment, creating a hostile work environment, and body-shaming. Later, a similar lawsuit was filed against the star and her management team, alleging more inappropriate backstage behavior.

Lizzo has always denied these allegations. Parts of the first suit were thrown out of court, while others are still part of an ongoing case. The second case was dismissed after a judge ruled that the plaintiff couldn’t sue Lizzo because she technically worked for the tour company, not the singer herself.

Earlier this month, Lizzo released her fifth studio album, with the bold title B----. She has been open about her frustrations with the album rollout and promotions, claiming TikTok was suppressing her career.

"My album is out today, and TikTok continues to be a hater," she said, claiming that when she posts about her new music on her account, it's suddenly "ineligible for recommendation."

According to the 38-year-old, when she posts random clips of herself off duty with friends or playing around, TikTok pushes them out to the algorithm. She claimed the algorithm punished her for posting her own content.

"And when I want to promote my album, you don't want to recommend it to my fans?" she asked. "Well, honey, I'm on my main page to let y'all know that my album is out TODAY. Go run it up. To all of the 26 million people who love me, go get my album; it's out today. Woo!"

Lizzo has taken to TikTok to urge her followers to support her music so it wouldn't "flop." When asked why her music wasn't getting a bigger marketing rollout. "Baby, I'm asking the same question because I definitely approved the billboards in the marketing meetings. I definitely approved ads, but crickets," she said.

Cher's stepbrother and her snobby classmate are back together, decades later.

Paul Rudd and Jeremy Sisto, who both appeared in the 1995 teen classic Clueless, have reunited for a new movie 31 years on, and Sisto says his old co-star has not changed a bit. "Paul was really the same guy that I met all those years ago," Sisto, 51, said. He praised Rudd, 57, for the grounded warmth and generosity he brings to a set.

How They Knew Each Other From 'Clueless'

The two actors did not actually share any scenes in Clueless. Rudd played the stepbrother and eventual love interest of Cher (Alicia Silverstone), while Sisto played Elton, Cher's status-obsessed classmate. The pair represented opposite value systems back then, Sisto noted, and three decades later they are playing far more complicated characters.

Rudd felt the nostalgia too, saying the history the two share made the reunion special. "It really is something to treasure," he said. Off screen, Rudd and Sisto are longtime friends.

What 'Rain Reign' Is About

The reunion comes by way of Rain Reign, an indie drama that premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 6. Sisto plays a struggling single father to a neurodivergent tween who loses her dog, and Rudd plays the girl's loving uncle who helps search for it. Rudd's wife, Julie Rudd, produced the film, which does not yet have a release date.

For a generation that grew up quoting Clueless, seeing two of its stars reunite three decades later is a full-circle moment.

John Corbett and his wife, Bo Derek, may not be big fans of the red carpet, but the low-key couple knows how to make a statement.

Derek, 69, started working as a child, but had her breakthrough role in 1979’s 10, which featured that iconic scene of her running on the beach. In later years, she made us laugh alongside Chris Farley and David Spade in Tommy Boy. Married to Sex and the City and And Just Like That... alum Corbett, 65, the duo looked great while attending the Shania Twain rose ceremony at No Vacancy in Los Angeles, California. Still, people on social media were a little shocked to discover that Corbett has gone full Silver Fox. With long, gray hair and a gray mustache, the handsome actor opened up to the camera about a fun event. No matter what he does with his hair, Corbett is looking good!

A Red Carpet Couple

Back in February, Derek hit the red carpet with Corbett at the 41st annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival to present Stellan Skarsgård with the Montecito Award at the Arlington Theatre. The star simply glowed in a black turtleneck and cream-colored coat. Still an iconic blonde, it’s safe to say this lovely lady is aging like a fine wine.

Where Do Bo Derek and John Corbett Live?

Living in Santa Barbara with Corbett, Derek prefers a quieter pace of life.

“…Right now, if I’m home, I wake up, make coffee, feed the horses, feed the dogs, feed myself, go to my computer, work in the garden, swim in the pool for exercise and then feed horses, feed dogs, feed ourselves,” she toldVariety back in 2020. “John and I watch Jeopardy while we eat and then we watch movies all night.”

No matter how they spend their time, it’s safe to say that Derek is so in love with Corbett, more than 20 years on.

“It’s that twinkle in his eye. His humor. He has a lot of joy in him and I feed off of it,” she told Entertainment Tonight.  “The simplest things can make him so happy, so he makes my day brighter because of that, too. And he’s got a wicked sense of humor.”

In the 1970's, Lobo, also known as Roland Kent LaVoie, was making a name for himself in the music industry as a singer/songwriter. He released a soft rock track that would become a staple in the genre as a ballad and his most-well known charting hit about love.

"I'd Love You to Want Me" appears self-explanatory in what its lyrics are trying to convey. The track was released in 1972 as the second single from the singer's second album, Of a Simple Man. Up until then, Lobo had gained some traction with his debut track "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo," which landed at No. 5 as a bubblegum hit on the U.S. charts.

The soft rock track would end up being Lobo's biggest success of his career, as "I'd Love You to Want Me" landed as No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks. It was on track to become a chart-topper but was bumped from the spot byJohnny Nash's hit "I Can See Clearly Now." It still managed to land the No. 1 spot on Cash Box and the Adult Contemporary chart.

Years before the love ballad was even created, Lobo came up with the inspiration thanks to a crush he had in high school. According to an interview with LoBurn Magazine, he had a forbidden crush on his young art teacher, and his goal was to always write a hit ballad.

"Yeah, 'I’d Love You to Want Me' was pretty much a favorite. I wanted to write the big ballad. There was a conscious effort to do that. The premise behind that was what I imagined in school. I had a really pretty art teacher," he explained.

"I was a high school senior and the teacher was 22. And she looked at me and I looked at her and there was a connection. That line (from “I'd Love You to Want Me”), 'The obligation that you made, for the title that they gave,' was about that. It was the love you couldn’t have. You know?"

The singer added that the track was simply done out of an "emotional standpoint" and was a vehicle to get his feelings out without "trying to be clever or anything." Based on the feelings of unrequited love, Lobo also developed "Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend."
