Ryan Reynolds Made a Surprise Comic-Con Appearance — But No One Knew It Was Him

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:48pm

Before Marvel’s annual Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, Ryan Reynolds pulled off a prank that left fans stunned.

Dressed in a denim Deadpool costume, Reynolds walked the exhibit floor, taking pictures with Deadpool fans who thought he was a cosplayer. While he did have a badge around his neck, wristbands were slipped inside to cover his name. Fans had no idea it was him until he appeared in Hall H, his name fully visible on the badge.

During the presentation, Reynolds jokingly asked Robert Downey Jr. when Avengers: Doomsday would begin filming.

“It’s in the can, bro, look around you,” Downey replied. “Did you bump your head?”

“I see,” Reynolds replied. “So there’s no additional photography, no overages, hot costs — maybe last-minute additions?”

Leaving Downey no time to respond, Reynolds abruptly said, “No further questions. Happy Hogan, fetch the Audi. We’re leaving.”

Although Reynolds hasn’t confirmed if he’ll be in Doomsday yet, he did take to social media to express his gratitude for being able to attend Comic-Con.

“The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago,” Reynolds captioned an Instagram Reel. “Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world. No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT. Thanks to everyone I met, who aren’t only cosplaying but world-building.”

Fans who met Reynolds during Comic-Con have also taken to Instagram Reels, with one user saying they were “crashing out” because they didn’t realize it was him in the suit.

“Same thing happened to us in the exhibit hall,” a fan commented. “We were [complimenting] his Canadian tuxedo suit, and he was all for it, like Deadpool emoting and nodding his head. Little did we know it was him.”

“Walking around Comic-Con without telling anyone is such a Deadpool thing to do,” another said.

Suri Cruise, 20, Officially Drops Estranged Father Tom Cruise’s Last Name

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:46pm

Suri Cruise has traded her father's last name for her mother's, and now it's official.

The 20-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes legally changed her last name from Cruise to Noelle — her mother's middle name — according to voter registration records obtained by People

Tom, the Mission: Impossible star, and Katie, the Dawson's Creek alum, welcomed Suri in April 2006 and married that November. Their marriage ended in 2012, and Suri has largely grown up out of the spotlight since.

When Did Suri Cruise Start Using the Name Suri Noelle? Katie Holmes gets a visit from daughter Suri Cruise on the set of "Happy Hours" in Alphabet City in Manhattan on August 07, 2025, in New York City.

Suri, now a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, registered to vote in Allegheny County during her freshman year in October 2024. Her registration lists her as Suri Noelle. The switch wasn't sudden. Suri had already walked at her high school graduation under the name Suri Noelle back in June 2024, Page Six reported.

Katie Holmes Opens Up About Her Daughter's New Chapter

Katie rarely discusses Suri publicly, but she made an exception when her daughter left for college. "I'm proud of my daughter," she told Town & Country. "Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy."

She added, "I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It's exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that."

Katie has also moved fast to protect her daughter's privacy. After a report claimed Suri had accessed a trust fund from her father, Katie shut it down directly on Instagram, calling the story "completely false".

Katie has hinted at this protective streak before. In a 2023 interview with Glamour, the then-45-year-old shared how she's approached raising her daughter in the public eye, saying, "What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her."

Inside Suri Noelle's Life Away From Her Famous Parents

TMZ reported on July 24 that Suri is also tied to a Carnegie Mellon student production of A Midsummer Night's Dream set to travel to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe next month, though her name doesn't appear on the cast or crew list.

While her professional updates continue to make headlines, her relationship with her father remains distant. Suri and Tom haven't been seen together publicly in over a decade, The Sun reported in 2023.

Tom stays closer with his two adopted children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

YouTube Premium Will Soon Add a Popular $11-a-Month Streaming Service at No Extra Cost

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:41pm

YouTube Premium subscribers are about to get a lot more for their $15.99 a month.

On Monday, July 27, YouTube announced that eligible subscribers in the U.S. will soon get ad-supported Peacock Premium included with their membership at no extra cost, a streaming service that runs about $11 a month on its own.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

The perk comes through an expanded partnership with NBCUniversal, announced by YouTube chief business officer Mary Ellen Coe. YouTube Premium already strips ads from videos and adds background play, downloads and YouTube Music. Now it folds in Peacock's lineup of live sports, Universal movies and hit series, including the NFL, NBA, Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA and Law & Order: SVU.

There's a Catch

It is not available yet. YouTube said the rollout will happen "in the coming months," and the company will share official launch dates and eligibility details closer to then. So there is nothing to activate today. YouTube has not yet detailed exactly how eligible subscribers will get access, only that it will come at no extra charge.

More to Come

YouTube also teased additional options down the line, including international bundles and the ability to upgrade a Peacock membership beyond the ad-supported tier. As part of the same deal, a selection of live NBCUniversal sporting events will stream free on the NBC Sports YouTube channel for everyone, not just Premium members.

One thing to keep in mind: the ad-supported tier means most Peacock titles will still play with commercials. Even so, the deal reflects a broader shift, with streaming giants increasingly teaming up on bundles to keep subscribers from hitting cancel.

For anyone already paying for both services, the change effectively erases a monthly bill. For everyone else, it makes one of YouTube's pricier subscriptions an easier sell.

1967 Rock Classic, Originally a Flop, Became a Surprise Hit 5 Years Later

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:41pm

While Procol Harum might be best known for their iconic 1967 hit "Whiter Shade of Pale," that wasn't the only song to land the British band on the charts. Another track on the group's self-titled album, the song "Conquistador" became Procol Harum's second highest-charting hit...but it took years for that to happen.

As Keith Reid told Songfacts, "Conquistador" was written before Procol Harum was officially a group.

"Gary Brooker and I, before we formed Procol Harum, when we were just working together as songwriters and getting into it, we had this regular deal where he lived about 40 miles from London near the ocean, and I'd jump on a train once a week and go visit him," Reid recalled.

"He'd have a bunch of my lyrics and he'd play me whatever he had been working on," Reid continued.

"This particular time, though, I'd got down there and he'd been working on a tune. He said, 'What does this sound like to you?' And I said, 'Oh, conquistador.' It had a little bit of a Spanish flavor to it. I went into another room and started writing the words there and then. 99 out of 100 of those Procol Harum songs were written the words first and then were set to music. But that particular one, the words hadn't existed before he had the musical idea," he explained.

The lyrics are from the perspective of someone who comes across a dead Conquistador lying on a beach:

Conquistador, your stallion stands in need of company
And like some angel’s hallowed brow, you reek of purity
I see your armor-plated breast has long since lost its sheen
And in your death mask face, there are no signs which can be seen

While the song didn't make a major impression with the masses right away, its status as one of the band's most popular tracks was cemented when it was released as a single from the band's 1972 live album Procol Harum Live: In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Exactly five years after "Whiter Shade of Pale" hit #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 (on July 29, 1967), "Conquistador" peaked at #16 on the same date in 1972, spending 13 weeks on the chart overall.

Years later, in a 2010 interview, Brooker said Edmonton Symphony Live featured his best vocal performances with Procol Harum.

Keystone / Getty Images

"It always gives one a great deal of pleasure if you know that when you sing live, that you sing as well or better than you did in the studio," Brooker explained.

"And, of course, when you get excited, when you're playing on stage, a bit more adrenaline, it always fits well in with the feeling," he continued. "When we played in Edmonton with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra that first time, it was a very inspiring evening, and there was a lot of good music going on from everybody, and the vocals had to get over it all."

Brooker went on to say that "usually, what you're singing in a studio, you haven't really sung before. You are recording that song for the first time. Sometimes I walk up to the microphone and it's the first time I've had a serious go at it with the backing going on. When we record in the studio, we always have a vocal mike up at the keyboard, so I always sing all of them the same time as playing. And very often those guide vocals are what gets used on the finished recording. So it's much easier to sing and play and just be natural about it — which is what it's like on stage — than standing in a booth crafting something."

Grammy-Winning Rock Band, Touted as the Next Led Zeppelin, Releasing New Single

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:21pm

Valid or not, the old adage "distance makes the heart grow fonder" may turn out to be true not only for bickering couples, but the internet's favorite band too.

Greta Van Fleet put rumors to rest that they are indeed staying together. To prove it, they not only dropped a new single this May, but another one this week.

Here's a snippet from their official Instagram page:

View this post on Instagram

This one is titled "Saw You Stand". Just as you'd expect if you're already a fan, lead vocalist Josh Kiszka belts out the chorus with tonal flashbacks to Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant in his heyday.

"We are like a bunch of old men," Josh told Rolling Stone of the comparisons in 2018.

Small but mighty, hitting his signature screeching notes without breaking a sweat, the song already sounds like the band is staying true to form, which led them to become one of social media's most viral artists on their last tour.

New Single is Slated for Release July 31

So far, the band has only teased fans with under-minute clips on various social platforms.

According to Blabbermouth, "Saw You Stand" is set for an official release date at the end of the month.

To commemorate the new song, GVF will be performing a special one-night only show at Chicago's Metro on July 31.

This comes after the band did the same for their first new release in three years — "Play Your Games", which was played live in May at New York's renowned Bowery Ballroom.

With no official tour being announced just yet, we can expect them to go back to the lab in Nashville, where they're reportedly based nowadays, to finish off what's assumed by fans to be a new album in the works.

Bassist Sam Kiszkarevealed the band's direction was to 'return to their roots', aiming for 'exciting, raw, and energetic' music.

As for fans, one wrote, "How did they go from Led Zeppelin to the Bee Gees?" as another added, "oh gvf, that Grammy is yours."

Keke Palmer Opens Up About Sean Evans Chemistry and Those Viral Dating Rumors

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:11pm

After appearing on Hot Ones, public interest in Keke Palmer's relationship with host Sean Evans exploded. People everywhere became invested, even other celebrities.

"Everybody, including us," Sheinelle Jones told Palmer when she appeared on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle. "Everybody was weighing in."

Palmer admitted that she was baffled by the intensity.

"I was gagged that everyone was ready to marry me off," she exclaimed. "Guys, let it cook! They married your girl off in two seconds."

After the pair were spotted out together in public, the scrutiny just got worse.

Navigating Modern Parasocial Culture

"For us, you know, it's just, like, life," Palmer said. "Essentially, we met at work. It's like, work husband/work wife. You just have that chemistry with people. You know, we hang out, and then. They write the story quicker than you can live it."

View this post on Instagram

"I see someone at the airport, I'm going through TSA, they're like, 'So, girl, what's going on?' And I'm like, 'Girl, you've gotta let time pass!' This just happened yesterday," she continued. "So it's like this thing, it's so interesting. It's so parasocial, the world we're living in now."

The Chemistry Is Genuine

After Palmer appeared on Hot Ones in September 2025, fans immediately noticed the flirtatious vibe between the two. Her remarks at the end of the show convinced fans that something was potentially brewing.

"There's one more thing I'd like to say, Sean, because I saw an interview where you said I was your favorite guest, and all this really sweet stuff," she said. "And I know we've just had some wings, but I thought maybe we could just have a quick smooch to see if there's a spark."

While chatting withBush Hager and Jones, she admitted that nothing about their adorable interaction was fake.

"The chemistry is genuine. Our chemistry is genuine. I couldn't force it. We always felt that chemistry," she said.

Martha Stewart’s Stackable Storage Bins Make Any Space Look ‘So Cute and Tidy’

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 10:01pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you’ve been looking for a better way to organize the small items scattered around your home, the Martha Stewart 3-Pack of Clear Storage Bins is worth a look while it’s on sale at JCPenney. The set is regularly $36 but is currently marked down to $25, and applying the code TEXTBOOK lowers the price even further to $22. It’s available in two lid colors: white and light natural, which offers a more wood-like appearance.

The set includes three stackable bins made from BPA-free, crack-resistant plastic with sturdy engineered wood lids. They measure 7.5 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 2 inches high, making them ideal for smaller supplies that can easily get lost inside a large drawer. The transparent sides make it quicker to find what you need, while the lids offer flat surfaces that allow the bins to stack vertically. They can also be easily wiped clean with a dry cloth.

These bins make use of vertical space without taking over your desk, counter, or vanity. Each one can hold a different group of small items, like pens and charging cords in an office or cotton pads, hair accessories, and cosmetics in a bathroom. And since the sides are clear, you can quickly see what’s inside, while the lids keep everything covered and allow the bins to stack neatly.

Shoppers said they’re “very pretty” and “durable,” with one person calling them the “perfect size.” “It makes my area look so cute and tidy!,” they wrote, adding that the set comes with sticky gel pads for the bottoms to help keep the bins from sliding around. Another reviewer said, “They are good quality and are great for a minimalistic look.”

The shallow dimensions make these bins best for small, easy-to-misplace items rather than bulky products. They’re a good fit for pens, clips, jewelry, makeup brushes, and other compact essentials. They likely won’t hold full-size bottles or larger office supplies, but the low-profile build makes them easier to fit on narrow shelves, inside cabinets, or along the back of a desk.

If your space could use a little more order, now is a great time to grab the Martha Stewart 3-Pack of Clear Storage Bins. The wood lids give them a more decorative look than standard organizers, while the coupon makes the set even more affordable. 1992 Figure Skating Legend, the 1st Woman to Land a Triple Axel During the Olympics, Started a 'New Era in Women's Skating'

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 9:28pm

As longtime fans of women's figure skating know, the sport has evolved quite a bit over the years. While it's no longer uncommon to see a female skater land a quadruple jump in competition, back in the early '90s, even the triple Axel was a rarely attempted feat. In fact, it wasn't until 1992 that Japan's Midori Ito became the first woman to land a triple Axel during the Olympics.

The diminutive skater's career was packed with firsts, actually: In 1989, Ito became the first figure skater outside of Europe and North America to become World Champion, according to the official Olympics website; she became the first woman to land a triple Axel in competition at the NHK Trophy the year before. When she won the silver medal in 1992 for her history-making performance, it was the first figure skating medal won by an Asian nation in Olympics history.

There's no question that Ito paved the way for the powerful jumpers to come after her, such as Kamila Valieva and Alysa Liu. It's a path the skater seemed destined to take from her early childhood.

Born in Nagoya, her skills were impressive enough at the age of 4 to attract the attention of coach Machiko Yamada. Just two years later, she moved in with Yamada's family after her parents split up. “At that time, she accepted me as one of her children,” Ito told the Los Angeles Times in 1990, adding, "So I didn’t feel that I was a hardship for her.”

With Yamada's help, Ito developed her singular talent for jumping, landing her first triple jump at just 8 years old. By the time she was 11, she landed three triple jumps at the World Junior Championships.

“As a child, I felt I could master some of the jumps quicker than the other children,” she recalled. “Jumps that would take them three hours to learn took me an hour and a half.”

While jumping clearly came naturally to Ito, she sometimes struggled with the more artistic aspect of skating and eventually added ballet lessons to her training regime. Once described as "a smile with wings attached," Ito never lacked for enthusiasm (and was even known to pump her fist after landing especially challenging jumps).

For everybody watching, it was hard not to get caught up in the sheer exhilaration of Ito's performances. "It will be 50 years before we see anything like Midori Ito again," predicted Olympic gold medalist and commentator Scott Hamilton in 1990. As Ellen Kestnbaum wrote in the book Culture on Ice: Figure Skating and Cultural Meaning, Ito heralded the start of "a new era in women's skating" when a variety of triple jumps would become a routine part of competitions.

In 1998, Ito's legacy as Japan's first major star of the Winter Olympics was honored when she was chosen to light the Olympic Flame in the opening ceremony of the Nagano Games while dressed as the Japanese sun goddess Amaterasu.

Now, over 30 years since she took home the silver, Ito remains impressively active in the skating world. In 2024, at the age of 54, Ito won her 20th international medal at the ISU International Adult Championship Masters Elite Women III in Oberstdorf, Germany.

Best-Selling Author's 1984 Novel Ranked Among Best Books of All Time

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 9:11pm

What if the freedom to live without burdens becomes a burden of its own?

More than four decades after becoming an international bestseller, Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being has earned a place in Collider's ranking of the 25 best books ever written. Published in 1984, the philosophical novel remains Kundera's best-known work.

Set in Czechoslovakia around the 1968 Prague Spring and the Soviet-led invasion that followed, the book centers on Tomas, a surgeon who keeps love and sex firmly separated, and Tereza, the woman who challenges the detached life he has built. Their relationship carries them from Prague to Switzerland and back as political upheaval changes the choices available to them.

Two other characters, Sabina and Franz, offer their own answers to the questions surrounding freedom, loyalty and responsibility. Kundera moves among their perspectives while regularly stepping away from the plot to consider the ideas shaping their decisions.

View this post on Instagram

At the heart of the novel is the conflict between "lightness" and "weight." Lightness can mean freedom from responsibility, but it can also leave life feeling empty. Weight brings obligations and pain, yet those burdens may be what give a life meaning.

Kundera once explained the goal behind his writing in an interview with the Paris Review.

"My lifetime ambition has been to unite the utmost seriousness of question with the utmost lightness of form," he said.

That approach helped the novel examine political oppression, infidelity and mortality without becoming a traditional historical drama. Its nonlinear structure allows private relationships and national events to carry equal importance.

Kundera wrote the novel after going into exile in France in 1975. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked four years later, and his work remained banned in his homeland until the late 1980s. Still, The Unbearable Lightness of Being found immediate success internationally and was eventually printed in dozens of languages.

The novel was also adapted into a 1988 film starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Juliette Binoche and Lena Olin. Yet its most important legacy remains on the page, where a turbulent romance becomes a question readers cannot easily settle: whether a meaningful life should feel light at all.

Crumbl's New Cookie Flavor Is Sparking Backlash From Fans

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 8:58pm

Crumbl just unveiled a new cookie flavor—and fans aren't having it.

On Sunday, July 26, the cookie chain revealed its new Flamin' Lime Crunch Cookie as part of its weekly lineup.

Seemingly inspired by Flamin' Hot Cheetos, the dessert features a lime sugar cookie rolled in a spicy cheese crisp mixture, topped with tangy cream cheese frosting, coated in a spicy cheese crisp streusel, and finished with crunchy spicy cheese crisps and a fresh lime wedge.

After Crumbl shared the new cookie on Instagram, customers quickly flooded the comments section with reactions, many expressing confusion and disappointment over the unconventional flavor combination.

"In this economy, maybe don’t experiment with whether or not the customer wants something that they’ve NEVER asked for. 😅🙃✨," wrote one customer.

"As a Mexican that loves hot Cheetos with lime and Crumbl cookies…. Idk about this lol," said another.

"Not even the hot Cheeto girl in school wants this 😭," added a third.

"Respectfully… what in the pantry clean-out is going on?" commented a fourth.

The early reviews on Crumbl's website haven't been much kinder. The top-rated review called the cookie "disgusting," with the customer claiming they had to buy chocolate milk to wash it down because they thought they were going to throw up.

The polarizing cookie is part of Crumbl's road trip-themed menu for the week, which also includes the Wild Cherry Blue Razz Slushy Cookie, Honey Bun Cookie, Berry Limeade Cookie ft. Nerds Gummy Clusters, Snickers Peanut Butter Cookie and White Drop Cookie ft. Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme.

The Flamin' Lime Crunch Cookie isn't the first Crumbl product to spark criticism. The chain previously faced backlash over its viral line of dirty sodas, with critics taking issue with the drinks' high sugar and calorie content.

Crumbl reveals its weekly lineup of cookies every Sunday.

Ariana Grande Sues Alleged Hackers Over Massive Leak of Unreleased Music and Files

Mon, 07/27/2026 - 8:56pm

Ariana Grande is pursuing legal action against two people who allegedly hacked her collaborators’ private files.

The singer and actress is suing both John Does for allegedly hacking “various personal digital accounts of photographers and producers who have worked closely” with her, according to a complaint obtained by People. It was filed on Monday, July 27, by Grande’s team.

The complaint also states that the alleged hacking is responsible for “unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content.” The John Does allegedly found unreleased songs, photographs, and video and audio recordings taken while working on her music “not intended for public consumption.”

The 33-year-old musician claims the duo profited from the files they stole after they sold “personal data and content on the dark web for significant sums of money.”

“In 2023 alone, 45 unreleased songs belonging to Ms. Grande were hacked, stolen, and leaked by Defendants,” states the complaint. “Since her music debut in 2011, hundreds of similar leaks have taken place.”

The pop star’s lawyers said she is initiating legal action to identify the alleged hackers.

“The lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent against future acts of this nature — not only targeting Ariana, but also the many artists who have faced similar invasions of their privacy and theft of their creative work,” a source close to Grande told People. “Artists deserve the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world. The unlawful theft and distribution of creative work undermines that right and should not be tolerated.”

While promoting her Eternal Sunshine album in 2024, she hinted on an episode of the Zach Sang Show that she would take legal action against hackers.

“He’s just been such an incredible friend these past few years,” she said about MaxMartin, the producer of “Fantasize,” an unreleased song that was leaked in 2023.

“We were — before I left for Wicked — a few studio sessions that I did which are all over TikTok, thank you so much, I’ll see you in jail. Literally,” she continued. “Those were all written for a TV show, for something that was not for me, so ‘Fantasize’ comes out, crazy, was stolen ... these pirates, crooks, illegal!”
