Taco Bell is bringing back a discontinued fan favorite—but only for one day.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, the fast-food chain is reviving the beloved Meximelt for the first time since it was removed during a menu simplification effort in 2019. Even better, fans can grab one for just $1 for a limited time.

For those who need a refresher, the Meximelt features seasoned beef, a melted three-cheese blend and fresh pico de gallo wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. The menu item debuted in 1988 and remained a Taco Bell staple for more than 30 years before being discontinued.

Here's everything to know about the limited-time deal—and how to claim yours before the offer ends.

How to get a $1 Meximelt from Taco Bell

$1 Meximelts will be available while supplies last at participating locations through the Taco Bell app or website from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. PT on Aug. 4.

And that's not all. Starting at 2 p.m. PT, Taco Bell Rewards members can also get a $1 order of regular sized Nacho Fries on the app that same day.

According to the chain's website, the golden, crisp Nacho Fries are seasoned with bold Mexican spices and served with nacho cheese sauce for dipping.

The Taco Bell app is available to download on the App Store or Google Play.

The Meximelt deal is the chain’s latest attempt to win customers back after a recent parasite scare.

According to a report published by The New York Times the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked a recent outbreak of cyclosporiasis—a parasitic illness that can cause severe diarrhea—to iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms that was supplied to Taco Bell.

On July 17, the fast-food chain addressed the situation on Instagram, sharing a notes app apology and confirming it had removed the affected produce.

“We want you to hear it from us,” the apology read. “We take your health and safety very seriously and have removed all affected Taylor Farms lettuce from Taco Bell stores. So go ahead and enjoy your Taco Bell today.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) later announced that the Taylor Farms lettuce had falsely tested positive for Cyclospora. Even so, the company said it is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market.

On Friday, July 24, Taco Bell thanked fans who stood by them amid the controversy by offering $1 lettuce-free enchiritos all day.

More than 60 years after it first introduced America to Jed Clampett and his unforgettable family, The Beverly Hillbillies is getting a major television revival.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 3, FETV will begin airing the complete series of the beloved sitcom, allowing viewers to watch all 274 episodes from the very beginning. Episodes will air weekdays at 8:10 a.m. ET and 12:50 a.m. ET, with the network promising every episode will be presented in its original, uncut format.

For many longtime fans, that's significant news.

While The Beverly Hillbillies has never entirely disappeared from television, many rerun packages have focused on the public domain episodes from the show's first two seasons. Those versions have often featured replacement music and left hundreds of later episodes largely unseen by modern audiences. FETV's announcement means viewers will once again be able to follow the Clampetts' entire nine-season journey from beginning to end.

"The Beverly Hillbillies is one of those rare sitcoms that is just as funny today as it was more than 60 years ago," Adam Sumrall, Executive Vice President of FETV and FMC, said in a statement.

"If you know the story of a man named Jed, you know why The Beverly Hillbillies has remained a television favorite for generations. It's a timeless comedy built around unforgettable characters and family-friendly humor, the kind of programming our viewers love."

Starring Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett, Irene Ryan as Granny, Donna Douglas as Elly May and Max Baer Jr. as Jethro, the sitcom premiered on CBS in 1962 and quickly became one of the biggest hits in television history. It finished as America's No. 1 show during each of its first two seasons and remained among television's 20 most-watched series for eight of its nine seasons. Sixteen episodes are still counted among the 100 most-watched television episodes ever broadcast in the United States.

The show's premise remains one of television's most enduring. After striking oil on their Ozarks property, the Clampett family leaves behind country life and moves into a Beverly Hills mansion, where their common-sense values repeatedly clash with the customs of wealthy Southern California society. The fish-out-of-water comedy made household names of its stars while creating one of television's most recognizable theme songs, "The Ballad of Jed Clampett," which even reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country chart.

Starting Aug. 3, fans will once again be able to watch every chapter of that story as The Beverly Hillbillies returns to FETV in its entirety.

One of the most talked-about moments in Christopher Nolan's blockbuster The Odyssey isn't actually, er, all Matt Damon.

According to The New York Times in an August 2 report, the muscular arms featured in one of the film's pivotal battle scenes actually belong to Devyn Dalton, the Canadian stunt performer who doubled for Damon during the movie's epic fight against the man-eating Laestrygonians.

Dalton, 34, said she woke up at 4 a.m. last week to find her phone "going crazy" after Damon unexpectedly praised her during an interview.

"What was going on was that the actor Matt Damon... had said in an interview that she had 'the greatest arms I have ever seen,'" she told the outlet.

Damon made the revelation while explaining how Nolan used movie magic to create the illusion that Odysseus and his army were tiny as they battled giants. Using a technique known as forced perspective, Dalton — who stands just 4-foot-6 to Damon's 5-foot-10 — doubled for him during the sequence, with a shot of her holding a sword even appearing on one of the film's official posters.

Although Dalton has worked as a stunt performer since 2011 on projects including The Last of Us, Weapons and the Planet of the Apes franchise, this marked the first time she had doubled for a male Hollywood leading man.

"This is the first time doubling for a Hollywood leading man," she said. "I never thought I would have that on my résumé."

Dalton also said public recognition is rare for stunt performers, whose job is often to remain invisible.

"If you've done your job right, the audience shouldn't know it's you," she said. "Part of our job is being hidden. I have to say a huge thank-you to Matt for being so generous."

It’s a beautiful thing when parents and grandparents want to support their children and grandchildren as much as possible. They might buy the kids a special meal, comfort them when they're crying or talk to their teacher when they're struggling in school. Plus, let’s be honest: Sometimes, helping them is the logistically smart thing to do (for both of your sakes). Maybe the child isn’t able to do something, takes a long time to do it or struggles with the confidence to do so. 

Those are real, valid experiences you might be familiar with—but can always stepping in to help actually hurt their development?

Over time, kids need their parents and grandparents less (or in different ways). If that’s hard for you to read, that’s fair. Letting go of the comfort that comes with helping kids and supporting their independence can be two emotional experiences. 

At the same time, helping too much, and/or for too long, is real, occupational therapists warn. It can lead to various consequences, such as learned helplessness in children, low confidence and self-esteem, motor delays and more. 

Ahead, occupational therapists share a particular daily task they want you to stop helping kids with and why, an age-by-age guide on what kids should be doing independently (and when), along with additional tips.

The Task We All Rush: Why OTs Beg Parents To Stop Dressing Their Kids

Pediatric occupational therapists want parents to stop dressing their kids—but to be clear, not cold turkey. If you’re wondering “What age should a child get dressed alone?” it’s not super soon, but it’s also not as late as you might think.

“I encourage families to gradually give children more opportunities to participate in dressing as they're developmentally ready,” says Sydney Bennett, MS, OTR/L, a pediatric occupational therapist and co-founder of BabyFIT Providers. 

This is based on a more general understanding among occupational therapists. 

“One of the hallmark phrases in occupational therapy is that we help someone more when we help them less,” shares Dr. Beverly H. Moskowitz, DOT, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, pediatric occupational therapist and CEO of Real OT Solutions. “In other words, letting kids stumble, fall, scrape themselves off and start again is a significantly better learning experience than when adults plan, problem-solve and execute the task for them.” 

The Developmental Cost: Motor Planning and ‘Learned Helplessness’

Dressing yourself is an important life skill, but it’s also more than that for kids.

“It’s an everyday opportunity to develop skills such as motor planning, coordination, balance, body awareness, bilateral coordination, fine motor skills, visual perception, sequencing, cognition, sensory processing and independence,” Bennett says.

Motor planning is our brain’s ability to plan, organize and execute a movement. Dressing helps with that in various ways—from determining how clothing should be oriented, coordinating both sides of the body, adjusting movements and more. 

“Regarding motor planning skills, first allow them to fumble and experiment,” Dr. Moskowitz advises. “Figuring out a new motor skill, like fastenings, right-side-outing a shirt or donning pants, is a complex interplay of motor, sensory, cognitive and perceptual skills.”

After a child practices this, she encourages you to acknowledge their efforts.

“Even if they are not properly matched, oriented or sequenced, [this] promotes feelings of completion and confidence,” she explains. 

By dressing your child too much or for too long, you’re taking away that learning opportunity, leading to a long-term concern.

“This pattern can contribute to learned helplessness, where children become less likely to try challenging tasks because they don’t yet believe they're capable of succeeding,” Bennett states. 

You can offer support when needed, of course, but allow them to participate as much as possible.

Age-by-Age Guide: What They Should Actually Be Doing (And When)

Kids can do more and more as they get older, and it’s helpful to be aware of what those specific things are. So, occupational therapists provide guidelines on what kids in different age groups “should” be able to do independently.

The guide can also help if you’re wondering how to teach kids to put on coats and shoes, as it provides steps and explains “the Montessori coat flip trick.” 

Just one quick clarification: Bennett doesn’t want you to forget that these guidelines are general; every child develops at their own pace. Primarily, she encourages families to think about gradually increasing their child’s independence and participation. 

2 to 3 years

• Undress
• Put clothes in the hamper
• Pull off socks
• Put shoes in the closet
• Raise their arms above their heads in readiness for their shirt to be put on
• Offer one foot at a time when parents are putting on shoes
• Unzip jackets
• Put on simple clothes with assistance 

3 to 4 years

• Pull up pants
• Put pants on (though they might be backwards)
• Pull down a shirt after it’s placed over their head
• Insert feet into shoes (though they may be on the wrong feet)
• Unsnap clothes
• Button larger buttons (this is one of many fine motor skills activities for toddlers)
• Put on socks and shoes without laces
• Zip a jacket after an adult has started the zipper

Note: Struggling to zip a zipper or button a button can be signs of fine motor delay in preschoolers. 

5 to 6 years

• Pick out clothes each day
• Pull pants on all the way (especially pants with elastic waistbands)
• Put on jackets using the overhead technique (this is the Montessori coat flip trick, in which kids lay the jacket upside down, put their arms in, then flip the coat onto their backs.)
• Zipper
• Undo fastenings like buttons, snaps and buckles
• Practice tying their shoes

5 Genius OT Tricks To Make Independent Dressing Faster

Since one reason you might want to dress your child is to keep things moving in the morning, occupational therapists share tips on making the process quicker for kids.

1. Create pictorial sequence lists

Dr. Moskowitz encourages first selecting the child’s outfit (including their socks and shoes). Then, create a sequence of pictures with what steps they need to take. For example, pants first, then socks, then shoes.

2. Lay their outfit out flat

When you're selecting your child’s outfit for the day, lay it out flat and ensure the backs of the clothes are face up. “

This helps kids visualize their whole outfit and where everything goes,” Dr. Moskowitz explains. 

3. Teach the sequence for putting on a shirt

Bennett encourages teaching them these steps:

1. Put your head through first (you can help with this step by placing the shirt over their head).
2. Pull the shirt down.
3. Find one sleeve at a time. 

For taking off a shirt, she shares these steps:

1. Pull one arm out at a time.
2. Lift the shirt over your head.

Sticking with this step-by-step guide is helpful for another reason, too.

“Children learn motor skills best through repetition, and keeping the same sequence each time helps build an automatic routine,” Bennett notes.

4. Encourage them to sit down before putting on their clothes

Reduce the balance challenge by asking kids to sit down first.

“Sitting removes one layer of difficulty so children can focus on the dressing skill itself,” Bennett explains.

5. Have them practice when they aren’t busy

When you’re in a rush, it makes even more sense why you’d want to dress your child or speed up the process. So, when you’re not in those moments, have your child practice so they're better prepared. 

“When children have the time to try, make mistakes and problem-solve without everyone feeling rushed, they're much more likely to stay regulated, build confidence and enjoy the learning process,” Bennett explains.

How To Gently Set Boundaries With Well-Meaning Grandparents

The big takeaway with grandparents and boundaries, according to Dr. Moskowitz, is recognizing the pleasure that grandparents feel when interacting with their grandchildren. 

“Guide the grandparents to ask questions instead of making assumptions,” she suggests. “Remind them that the task is the child’s to complete. Their job is to enjoy the process.” 

Some questions they can ask include:

• What do you want to wear today?
• Would you prefer this top or that top?
• Do you want to show me how you dress yourself?

Then, she encourages the grandparent to provide genuine and specific accolades, such as “I love how…”

• …you matched your socks with your pants.”
• …you buttoned the shirt yourself.”
• …you figured out how to turn the pants around when you discovered they went on backwards.” 

Bennett agrees and adds another suggestion.

“I encourage parents to invite grandparents to be part of the learning process instead of asking them to step back completely,” she says. “Rather than saying, ‘Don’t help them get dressed,’ try giving one specific goal to focus on.”

For example, the child putting on their shoes or zipping their jacket.

“Focusing on one skill keeps expectations realistic, allows grandparents (and children) to celebrate the child’s progress and creates consistency across caregivers without making anyone feel criticized,” she explains. “These small amounts of practice may seem simple, but over time, they build confidence, independence and lifelong skills.”

At the height of his Hollywood career, Stephen Baldwin says he had everything he needed to become a major movie star. Instead, he chose a very different path.

"I probably could have pointed myself in the direction of becoming a big star," Baldwin, 60, told People in an August 2 interview "But that wasn't me. I didn't want to be Tom Cruise, and have to make $100 million at the box office. I'd rather be a schmuck from Massapequa!" he added with a laugh. "I'm good at that!"

After earning acclaim for The Usual Suspects in 1995 and appearing in films including The Flintstones and the cult comedy Bio-Dome, Baldwin said many assumed he would continue climbing the Hollywood ladder. Instead, he found himself pulled in another direction.

His life changed in 2001 after embracing born-again Christianity, a journey he says ultimately led him away from mainstream Hollywood and into ministry.

"Jesus and the Holy Spirit fascinated me," Baldwin told the outlet, recalling how a Christian skateboarding outreach inspired him to launch his own youth ministry. "I felt a calling."

That calling eventually led him to leave the entertainment industry he had spent years building.

"So that's when I left Hollywood," he said after churches across the country began inviting his skate ministry to speak to young people.

Today, Baldwin is producing Christian films, hosting his One Bad Moviepodcast and enjoying life as a husband, father and grandfather. Looking back, he says he has no regrets about choosing a different definition of success.

"I've done 100 movies, I've made more money than I could have wildly imagined, and I'm married to the hottest chick I've ever seen in my life," Baldwin said. "Jesus is my rock. My wife is my anchor."

"I'm happy to be where I'm now at 60," he added. "I'm so blessed. And I absolutely believe that the best is yet to come."

Emily Ratajkowski’s Viral Essay About Sex and Single Motherhood

In her viral essay for New York Magazine, Ratajkowski revealed that after her 2022 split from Sebastian Bear-McClard, she entered a period of “compulsive dating,” and “decided to f— my way into a new kind of woman.”

“Six months after my son was born, my husband and I stopped having sex,” Ratajkowski wrote. “Less than a year later, we separated.” She went on to say, “Before my separation, I’d never had a one-night stand. In 1982, yacht rock legend Michael McDonald released his debut solo single, “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You're Near).” Twelve years later, Warren G and Nate Dogg sampled the track for their own iconic hit, “Regulate,” immortalizing the foundational melody, bridging the gap between musical genres, and launching one of the greatest commercial crossovers of all time.

Written by McDonald and Ed Sanford, “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)" officially marked the end of the former’s Doobie Brothers era. It features background vocals from his sisterMaureen and actually borrows from another song itself: Chuck Jackson’s 1962song of the same name.

“As a jumping-off point, [McDonald and Sanford] borrowed the refrain melody and phrase from a 1962 song called “I Keep Forgettin’” by R&B legend Chuck Jackson,” American Songwriter explained. “That original song was written by the iconic songwriting duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, and the pair received songwriting credit on McDonald’s song because of its debt to the earlier track.”

In McDonald’s version, he sings of a jilted lover who forgets he and his significant other aren’t together any longer: “I keep forgettin’ we’re not in love anymore / I keep forgettin’ things will never be the same again,” he sings.

It actually became the solo artist’s biggest song, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, following the Jackson original’s climb to No. 55. But the hip-hop original McDonald inspired more than a decade later did even better.

“In 1994, ‘I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near),’ which itself owed much to a song from many years earlier, was able to pay it forward,” AS shares. “The hip-hop song ‘Regulate’ by Warren G featuring Nate Dogg soared to No. 2 on the pop charts, and it featured a foundational sample of McDonald’s solo classic.”

In the '90s, Warren G and the late Nate Dogg were on top of their game, rising from local West Coast underground associates to mainstream international stars, fueled by the monumental success of their smash rap anthem, “Regulate.”

Speaking to Billboard in 2014, Warren G explains that he pulled from McDonald’s classic because he thought it was “incredible.”

“I’m a fan. I’m still a fan,” he said. “I really love his work, man. I think he’s one of the greatest of all time. His voice is incredible. … Plus, it’s a record my stepmom and my pops used to play. It brought back feelings for me of living with my parents, when we lived in North Long Beach. They used to jam with some good music, man.”

Featured on the Above the Rimsoundtrack in March 1994, the track, which also samples dialogue from the 1988 cult western Young Guns, was then released as a single on Warren G’s solo debut album, Regulate… G Funk Era, in June 1994 via Def Jam Recordings and Violator Records. The track helped boost the record to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination in 1995 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Widely considered one of the defining songs of G-funk, or gangsta funk, “Regulate” sold more than a million copies and was certified platinumin August 1994 by the RIAA. It has since earned triple platinum honors. Perhaps even better, though, McDonald has said publicly that he loves the rap song.

“There’s great stuff that’s taken the genre to a new level over the years, and ‘Regulate’ was one of those tracks that was kind of a landmark,” McDonald told Billboard in 2014.

Dancing With the Stars: Juniors alum Kamri Peterson is officially joining the dance troupe for Season 35!

At DWTS Con in Palm Springs, Calif., on Sunday, Aug. 2, it was confirmed that Peterson will join the troupe for the upcoming season of the competition series.

Troupe dancers perform in group numbers and serve as background dancers throughout the season but are not paired with celebrity contestants. Last year's troupe included Hailey Bills, Onye Stevenson, Carter Williams, and Jaxon Willard, though it has not yet been confirmed whether any of them will return for Season 35.

Peterson, 18, competed on the short-lived spinoff Dancing With the Stars: Juniors in 2018, finishing in sixth place alongside former Scripps National Spelling Bee champion Akash Vukoti under the mentorship of reigning Dancing With the Stars champion Witney Carson.

Following DWTS: Juniors, Peterson continued her ballroom training and has worked with DWTS pros Rylee Arnold and Ezra Sosa, as well as the DWTS tour's choreographer Mandy Moore.

The rest of the pro and troupe lineup has not yet been revealed. The first four celebrity contestants announced for Season 35 are Summer House star Ciara Miller, Love Island alum Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez.

The remaining celebrity cast will be announced in September. Dancing With the Stars returns with a two-night premiere on Sept. 15 and 16 on ABC and Disney+.

More than three decades after starring in one of Hollywood's most unforgettable psychological thrillers, Juliette Lewis says revisiting the film left her with one unexpected response: an apology.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly in an August 2 interview, the actress reflected on rewatching Martin Scorsese's 1991 film Cape Fear during a recent screening and Q&A, admitting she couldn't help but address the audience afterward.

"The first thing I did was apologize to the audience because it was so disturbing," Lewis said with a laugh. "'I'm sorry!'"

The conversation comes as Lewis returns to the Cape Fear franchise in Apple TV+'s new series adaptation, where she plays the mysterious character Crystal after portraying Danielle Bowden in the 1991 film opposite Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, and Jessica Lange.

Lewis told the outlet that keeping her appearance in the new series a secret proved to be one of the biggest challenges.

"Very difficult," she said. "We worked hard. They left my name off the credits."

She even altered her voice for the role and embraced appearing behind a mask during her character's early scenes to preserve the surprise.

Reflecting on the original film, Lewis credited Scorsese with shaping her confidence as a young actress.

"I think of Scorsese as someone who gave me my creative wings," she said, explaining that the legendary director encouraged her to trust her instincts at a pivotal point in her career.

Now 53, Lewis says one thing has changed most since those early days in Hollywood.

"I don't beat myself up as much because now I'm older," she told the outlet. "I'm looking for more peace of mind."

Some songs take months to perfect. Others arrive almost all at once.

That was the case for Elvis Costello's "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes," which the singer-songwriter has said he wrote in about 10 minutes. Released in 1977, the song became one of the standout tracks from his debut album and remains a cornerstone of his remarkable catalog nearly five decades later.

The song arrived during a transformative period in Costello's career.

After signing with Stiff Records, the young songwriter was assembling the material that would become My Aim Is True, the debut album that introduced his razor-sharp lyrics and distinctive blend of punk, new wave, and classic pop influences. "Red Shoes" quickly emerged as one of the record’s most memorable compositions.

"The idea for 'Red Shoes' came to me fully formed, with the song's summarizing chorus line—'the angels wanna wear my red shoes'—appearing first," Costello told The Wall Street Journal. At the time, Costello was on a train from London to Liverpool. It was as the train arrived at Runcorn station, its second-to-last stop, that Costello pulled out his notepad and got to work.

"In the minutes that followed, I worked backward from the chorus line on the rest of the lyrics," Costello explained. "I could write snappy lines like 'Oh I used to be disgusted / and now I try to be amused' in my sleep, but it perplexed me a little to be suddenly writing this song about mortality at only 22."

Despite its upbeat melody, the lyrics tell a far more complicated story.

Inspired in part by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Red Shoes, Costello transformed the familiar image into a biting tale of jealousy, heartbreak, and emotional manipulation. The contrast between the song's bright, infectious arrangement and its darker lyrical themes became one of Costello's signature songwriting techniques.

"As I walked through the Liverpool Lime Street station to find a cab, I must have looked deranged," Costello said. :I was muttering and singing the song to myself over and over, trying to block out noise and distractions. Fortunately, the cab ride was quiet. The driver wasn't playing the radio or eager to talk. When I arrived at my mother's house, I shouted a brief hello and rushed upstairs to my old room. I pulled out my old Spanish guitar and tuned the steel strings carefully, since I didn't have spares if these snapped. I also didn't have a tape recorder to capture what I was playing. By playing it over and over, I had it down."

Although "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes" was never a major chart hit as a single, it soon became one of Costello’s defining songs.

Its clever wordplay, memorable chorus, and energetic performance helped establish him as one of the most exciting new voices to emerge from Britain's late-1970s music scene. The track has remained a fixture of his live performances for decades.

The song's influence has only grown with time.

Generations of musicians have praised Costello's songwriting, and "Red Shoes" continues to appear on lists celebrating the greatest songs of the new wave era. It also introduced many listeners to the literary wit and emotional complexity that would become hallmarks of his work.

Few groups captured the sheer, screaming excitement of the 1970s quite like the Bay City Rollers. As beloved '70s teen superstars, the tartan-clad Scots ruled radio stations around the world at the height of Rollermania.

While they built their fan base on massive originals like "Saturday Night," the group also knew how to take an older track and make it feel completely new. In 1976, 13 years after soul legend Dusty Springfield first released "I Only Want to Be with You" in 1963, the Rollers delivered a high-energy cover for a brand-new generation of fans.

In a bizarre twist of chart history, lightning struck twice in the same spot for both artists. Springfield's original and the Bay City Rollers' cover peaked at the same position on the Billboard Hot 100, landing right at No. 12 over a decade apart.

The song launched Springfield's career on the charts, reported Express. The outlet reported that the song was written for Jean Westwood by her songwriter husband, Mike Hawker. However, the song was later sent to Springfield.

Westwood once told Express, “I have no regrets. The record has been huge, the song is massive, and I still hear it in the supermarket in Spain."

She added, “People sing along to the track, and it’s surreal to think that the song was written about me. It’s a lovely feeling, even after all of these years. When I read the lyrics that Mike had written for the first time, I was very moved."

Springfield's version of the song hit No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1964. It remained on the charts for ten weeks.

Thirteen years later, the Bay City Rollers also reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their reimagining of the Springfield hit song. It was the Rollers' third chart hit following the success of "Saturday Night" and "Money Honey."

The song was featured on their 1976 album Dedication, the band's first LP for Arista Records. The label's president, Clive Davis, reportedly suggested the Rollers remake the song; that's how certain he was it would be a hit for them.

The Scottish hitmakers weren't the only ones who saw the magic in the track. Over the years, Samantha Fox, Tourism, and Volbeat put their own spin on the tune, proving its staying power across entirely different decades and musical styles.

Still, it was the Rollers who managed to match Dusty’s exact chart run. In doing so, they turned "I Only Want to Be with You" into one of those rare pop songs that managed to land in the exact same Top 20 spot twice, a full 13 years apart.

At the height of his success, Shaun Cassidy was playing sold-out concerts for tens of thousands of fans. Then, at just 21 years old, he made a decision that surprised nearly everyone: he walked away.

"I didn't love being in the public eye," he explained. "I loved singing, I liked acting, I really loved producing, and more than anything, I yearned, longed, to be a writer."

After performing before 55,000 fans at the Houston Astrodome, Cassidy recalled saying, "Goodnight. See you soon." Instead, he wouldn't perform another concert until 2020 — nearly four decades later.

According to the outlet, Cassidy spent those years raising his family before finding success as a television writer and producer. His work on projects including American Gothic helped establish a second career that allowed him to build an identity separate from his famous family.

"It just allowed me to have something closer to a normal life," Cassidy said. "A normal life, a grounded life, a stable life was something I really didn't have as a kid."

Now, Cassidy is returning to the stage for his 2026 UNWRAPPED Holiday Tour, giving fans another chance to see him perform.

When the Sex Pistols released "Anarchy in the U.K." in November 1976, punk rock was no longer an underground movement: it had announced itself to the world.

"I've got to tell the world this," Lydon said during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored years later. "Everyone presumes that I'm against the royal family as human beings, I'm not. I'm actually really, really proud of the Queen for surviving and doing so well. I applaud her for that and that's a fantastic achievement. I'm not a curmudgeon about that."

Its legacy has only grown with time.

Generations of musicians have cited "Anarchy in the U.K." as a formative influence, crediting its uncompromising energy with helping launch punk into the mainstream. From garage bands to arena rock acts, its impact can still be heard across countless styles of rock music, while its opening riff and defiant chorus remain instantly recognizable.

"I watched the British protesters being removed from Fortnum & Mason's on TV, and police and occupiers were bemused with each other," Lydon told The Guardian "It was like Daffy Duck's day out. It's fantastic that police are now marching against the cuts. Understand that police are human beings too; so don't be willy-nilly throwing a brick at a policeman's helmet. That's not the real target. I don't believe in anarchy, because it will ultimately amount to the power of the bully, with weapons. Gandhi is my life's inspiration: passive resistance. I don't want to live in the Thunderdome with Mad Max."

Fifty years after its release, "Anarchy in the U.K." continues to embody the rebellious spirit that made the Sex Pistols cultural icons. Featuring a 20 year-old Johnny Rotten at the microphone, the song became far more than a hit, it became a rallying cry that forever changed the sound and attitude of rock music.

Ariana Grandeis reportedly ready to hit pause after months in the spotlight.

Following the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine tour in London on September 1, the Grammy winner plans to take a break from public appearances as ongoing discussion surrounding her health and appearance continues to dominate social media.

A representative for Grande confirmed the news to People on Sunday, August 2, saying, "Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour."

The spokesperson added, "She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much."

On Sunday, Aug. 2, the official Dunkin' Instagram account announced, "Now that it’s August... we’ve got some BIG news."

Since 2007, Dunkin' has offered pumpkin-flavored coffee and latte swirls; it introduced its Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte in 2020, and has been expanding its pumpkin and other fall-inspired offerings in recent years.

Kathy Lennon, one of “America’s Sweethearts of Song,” turns 83 today, Aug. 2. As a member of The Lennon Sisters, one of the longest-performing female vocal groups in American pop history, millions watched the singing icon known for beloved recordings including “Tonight, You Belong to Me” and “Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)” grow up on The Lawrence Welk Show.

According to The Great American Songbook Foundation, Kathy, just 12 years old, and her sisters, ranging from 9 to 16, made their debut on the TV show on Christmas Eve in 1955, singing an a cappella version of the song “He,” then became overnight sensations.

The single live performance established The Lennon Sisters as a household name, launching their more than 70-year career in the biz and charming millions who couldn’t wait for Saturday night to watch four little girls from Venice, California, sing their hearts out.

The Lennon Sisters continued to appear every weekend on the network show through 1968, becoming synonymous with nostalgia, the holidays, and family-friendly TV viewing. According to their official webpage, The Lennon Sisters also became the third-most-covered personalities of the '60s—right behind Jackie O. and Elizabeth Taylor, naturally.

Reportedly the longest-running vocal act associated with Welk’s program, The Lennon Sisters branched out into other popular TV shows as well, with their resumes boasting appearances on The George Burns Show,The Tonight Show, and The Ed Sullivan Show. The sisters even scored their own TV variety show, Jimmy Durante Presents the Lennon Sisters, with their mix of vocal talent and wholesome family values earning them the moniker “America’s Sweethearts of Song.”

But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

In 1969, Kathy and her siblings faced one of the darkest times of their lives. Their father, William Lennon, was tragically murdered at the age of 54 by an obsessed fan and stalker named Chet Young, who had become eerily and unhealthily fixated on Kathy’s older sisterPeggy.

The shocking murder is often cited as one of the nation’s earliest high-profile celebrity stalking incidents on record. But through it all, Kathy kept singing. She and her sisters continued to perform after a period of mourning.

Back in the spotlight, The Lennon Sisters became regulars on The Andy Williams Show and enchanted the Las Vegas Strip with a residency at Caesars Palace, which introduced their more sophisticated side.

Though their legacy is tightly tied to their television tenure, they did show up on the Billboard Hot 100. Their highest-charting single was “Sad Movies (Make Me Cry),” which climbed to No. 56 on the tally in 1961. On the Billboard 200, their best-performing album,Somethin’ Stupid, reached No. 77 in 1967.

By 2001, the quartet had become a trio with Kathy, Janet, and little sister Mimi, who joined after Peggy decided to retire, continuing the act for another 20+ years. Still anchored by their signature harmonies and choral blend, the group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.

Over the decades, Kathy and her sisters performed for seven consecutive presidents: from Dwight D. Eisenhower to Ronald Reagan. They received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have had their costumes, artifacts, and memorabilia from their acts preserved in the Smithsonian museum in Washington, D.C.

“After 67 years, there is still nothing like sitting on a stage, and looking at your sisters, and as we blend our voices, we just feel as one heart,” Kathy said, per her website.

Dozens of albums and more than a hundred singles later, Kathy continues to share her life with the public on social media and through special interactions. Though the trio is now mostly retired from regular touring, Kathy stays in touch with fans on Facebook and Instagram.

“It is a very rainy day here in Branson, and I have been thinking how fast Spring is turning into Summer,” Kathy shared in a post back in May. “I pray for your graduation celebrations, and Summer vacations are filled with sunshine and joy. We hope to see more California families, whom we miss so badly throughout the year. The hometown of Venice, SantaMonicaBeach, is always in our hearts. It was always the best.”

At a time when television was becoming the centerpiece of the American living room, Kathy and her sisters offered something rare: four singers whose effortless harmonies and wholesome hearts made them feel like part of the family.

Two years after surviving a life-threatening health crisis, Phil Collins is reflecting on the experiences that matter most—and admitting he's still hopeful about finding love.

In a candid new interview with The Times, the 75-year-old music icon looked back on his extraordinary career, his health struggles and his personal life, revealing that despite everything he's been through, he hasn't given up on the idea of another relationship. 

"I'd love to be in love again," Collins told the publication. "I would love a relationship. Kissing somebody, for example. You know, pretty basic stuff."

The heartfelt admission comes after what Collins described as one of the darkest chapters of his life. He revealed that in 2024 he was hospitalized after alcohol-related organ failure, leaving doctors weighing whether to keep him on life support. His children were called to his bedside to say goodbye, though Collins said he has no memory of those moments. 

Since then, the Grammy-winning singer has focused on rebuilding both his health and his relationships. He told The Times he now enjoys a close bond with daughter Lily Collins, saying the two have repaired their relationship after years of challenges. He's also reconnected with other family members and reflected on the mistakes he's made along the way. 

Physically, the singer continues to face significant challenges following multiple surgeries and nerve damage that left him unable to play the drums, the very instrument that launched his career.

But after surviving one of the darkest periods of his life, the singer says he's choosing to look forward. With a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction awaiting him in November and an open heart, Collins is embracing the possibility that his next great chapter is still to come.
