One legendary '90s alternative rock anthem was once covered by country music superstar, Lainey Wilson.

In 2022, the "Heart Like a Truck" songstress lent her powerhouse vocals and country twang to "What's Up?" the angsty signature song from the female-fronted band 4 Non Blondes.

Wilson, 34, included her country rendition of the song on her album Bell Bottom Country, giving the song an entirely different sound while still honoring the intense rock chorus made famous by Linda Perry's iconic vocals.

"I love this song," Wilson previously told Pure Country Radio about her decision to include her cover of "What's Up" on her album. "I love 4 Non Blondes. I love Linda Perry. I think she is just a badass. I mean she's just cool."

"I've been singing this song for years," Wilson continued. "It's just one of those songs that when we kick it off and when we come out with those 'hey heys' and that chorus, everybody's hands go up in the air and it just seems like there ain't a worry in the world."

Wilson also said she met Perry and asked for her "blessing" to put her "own little spin" on the song. "And she gave it to me. She's cool. She is so cool."

Released in 1993 as the second single on 4 Non Blondes' debut album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More! in 1992, "What's Up?" peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 1993, only to have a major resurgence more than 30 years later.

In November 2025 — thanks to a viral TikTok trend — the song appeared on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart for the first time ever, debuting at No. 182. It also rose to No. 1 on TikTok's Top 50 chart around the same time.

In June 2026, the song experienced yet another resurgence after it was nominated for an American Music Award nomination for Best Throwback Song, reminding fans of the song's enduring appeal across multiple generations.

Viola Davishas built a career that seems almost unimaginable when you know where her story began. Born on Aug. 11, 1965, in St. Matthews, South Carolina, Davis was the fifth of six children. When she was an infant, her family moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island, where her father worked as a horse groomer and her mother worked as a maid, factory worker, and homemaker. The family struggled with extreme poverty, and Davis has been incredibly candid about what it was like to grow up without many of the things other children took for granted.

In her powerful memoir Finding Me, Davis put that childhood into words: “We were ‘po.’ That’s a level lower than poor. I’ve heard some of my friends say, ‘We were poor, too, but I just didn’t know it until I got older,’ she says. “We were poor and we knew it.” She describes living in apartments with unreliable plumbing, frequently having no hot water or gas, and relying on food stamps and secondhand clothing and furniture.

The shame and hardship of those years followed Davis into school. She writes, “We had bed-wetting issues, our clothes were rarely washed, and we didn't have hot water to bathe. The smell of urine, old sweat, and mold followed my sisters and me into the classroom. The shame of smelling bad is a specific kind of trauma that sticks to your ribs. You try to shrink yourself so no one will notice you, but the smell always gives you away.”

But Davis also found something that would eventually change the trajectory of her life: acting. After discovering her passion for performance as a teenager, she studied theater at Rhode Island College and graduated in 1988. She then attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, beginning the professional training that would launch an extraordinary career onstage and onscreen.

From those difficult beginnings, Davis went on to become one of the most acclaimed actors of her generation. She earned her first Academy Award nomination for Doubt, received another for The Help, and won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Rose Maxson in Fences. In fact, she is one of the few people on the planet to achieve the coveted EGOT status, having won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.

Nick Reiner — the youngest son of the late Rob and Michele Reiner — is facing the death penalty for the murder of his parents. While the alleged killer has seemingly been cut off by his siblings, Romy and Jake Reiner, he has received support from another family member.

"His aunt, Annie Reiner, has visited him [in prison], according to reports," Brian Entin revealed on Sunday, August 9. "[She has] tried to support him during the entire process, which is an interesting new element to all of this."

According to Entin, Annie's support of Nick "isn't going over well with other members of the family."

Attorney Mark Geragos, who previously represented high-profile defendants like convicted murderers Erik and Lyle Menendez, claimed that "it's not unusual."

"Unfortunately, I've had way too many of these parricide family kind of death cases. And they're always, I always say the worst...When the parent gets killed by the child, it's just awful. There's no winners in that. The family is torn apart. They're shook. They never get over it," he explained.

Rob and Michele were found brutally slain in their Brentwood, California, home on December 14, 2025. Nick was tracked down and arrested later that day in connection with the killings.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty in February.

In April, Nick's older brother broke his silence on his parents' murders in an emotional Substack essay.

"We lost more than half of our family that night in the most violent way imaginable," he wrote. "Sure, any loss of a parent is devastating, but nothing compares to losing both of them at the same time and, on top of that, having your brother be at the center of it. It’s almost too impossible to process."

Jake continued, "I understand that people have questions about what happened. Some of those answers will come in time. But some parts of this belong only to our family, and keeping them private is the only way to protect what little remains of something that was taken from us."

Move over, Wordle, Connections, Connections Sports Edition, and Mini Crossword—there’s a new NYT word game in town! The New York Times' recent game, "Strands," is becoming increasingly popular as another daily activity fans can find on the NYT website and app.

With daily themes and "spangrams" to discover, this is the latest addictive game to cross off your to-do list before a new one pops up 24 hours later.

According to the New York Times, here's exactly how to play Strands:

Find theme words to fill the board.

• Theme words stay highlighted in blue when found.
• Drag or tap letters to create words. If tapping, double-tap the last letter to submit.
• Theme words fill the board entirely. No theme words overlap.

Find the “spangram.”

• The spangram describes the puzzle's theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. It may be two words.
• The spangram highlights in yellow when found.
• An example spangram with corresponding theme words: PEAR, FRUIT, BANANA, APPLE, etc.

Need a hint?

• Find non-theme words to get hints.
• For every three non-theme words you find, you earn a hint.
• Hints show the letters of a theme word. If there is already an active hint on the board, a hint will show that word's letter order.

A seasonal wreath is one of the easiest ways to change the look of your entryway since it doesn’t require rearranging anything else on your porch. You can hang it on the door on its own, or pair it with mums, lanterns, or pumpkins later in the season if you want to add more. Plus, the wreath can stay up through both Halloween and Thanksgiving. Just be mindful that if you’re displaying it outside, the brand recommends keeping it under a covered porch to protect it from direct sun, rain, and snow.

Having kicked off Monday, August 10, guests can mix and match two half-portion entrée selections, coleslaw and a Bottomless Side — plus their choice of a select appetizer or dessert — all for just $17.99. Sounds more filling than an overpriced sandwich, eh?

Red Robin reports that 180 meal combinations are possible, thus giving guests the freedom to satisfy two cravings in one complete dinner. Check out one possible combination in the Red Robin-provided photo below.

"Dinner shouldn't have to be a choice between variety and value," said Dave Pace, president and CEO of Red Robin, in a statement, per Monday's news release. "With the Dinner Double Feature, guests can mix and match their favorites, enjoy a complete meal and get the generous portions and hospitality they expect from Red Robin, all for $17.99."

Every Dinner Double Feature reportedly comes with coleslaw and a choice of one Bottomless Side, including steak fries, Yukon chips or steamed broccoli. Guests then choose two half-portion entrée selections from Red Robin favorites, including:

• Frank's RedHot Buzz Sauce Crispy Chicken Strips with Bleu Cheese dressing
• Crispy Fried Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce
• Whiskey River BBQ Ribs

To complete the meal, guests can choose one select appetizer or dessert. Appetizer options include a snackable portion of Chips & Salsa, Crispy Fried Pickles, Pretzel Bites and Queso Fundido. Dessert options include the Warm Brownie Sundae or Warm Cookie Sundae.

As the concert industry continues to test the faith of music fans with ticket prices and steep added-on costs, this generation's rock stars have had enough. Queens of the Stone Age took the stage during the second night of the Foo Fighters shows at Ford Field in Detroit and frontman Josh Homme took the mic to address the stuffy corporate rules testing rock music culture.

According toConsequence of Sound, Homme called out Ford Field as they closed their opening set with "A Song for the Dead,” he told the crowd of 65k fans, “Don’t let these f——-’ corporate assholes tell you what to do; do whatever the f—- you want,” Homme claimed defiantly. “F—- that s—-. You paid for parking, and you’re paying for overpriced drinks, these f——-g scalpers. F—- having some corporation tell you what the fuck to do, you guys do what you want!”

And before lighting up a cigarette onstage, something Ford Field stipulated could incur $10,000 fine, the rock star added, “And f—- Flock cameras too,” he said of the dangers they posed as surveillance state tools to get anyone on anything, including potentially smoking at a rock show.

It is not known if Ford Field has decided to pursue fining The Queens of the Stone Age, who told the crowd that they too had to deal with a silly search for a legal smoking area on the property. An experience they shared with the crowd that appears to have been on Homme's mind throughout the QOTSA set, which included “Little Sister,” “No One Knows,” “My God Is the Sun,” “Paper Machete,” and “I Appear Missing". The 2013 track was introduced with a jab at "$45 beers" before the closer, where he went on his anti-corporate rant. Ford Field has a no-smoking and no-vaping policy across the venue, including seats, suites, lounges, and bars.

Julianne Moore, known for her Academy Award-winning performance in Still Alice and her Golden Globe-nominated role in Boogie Nights, will make her long-awaited return to the stage in a “lusty new play,” according to Deadline.

Moore will star in Faydra, a play written by Tony nominee Sarah Ruhl. The logline states that Faydra is a modern take on the Ancient Greek myth of Phaedra — the daughter of King Minos and Queen Pasiphae of Crete. After being struck with an arrow of love, Faydra begins to lust after her soon-to-be stepson.

“Faydra explores the impossibility of reconciling logic and longing — especially for a woman unwilling to deny desire,” Deadline wrote.

While Moore is best known for her work on the screen, she’s no stranger to the stage. She appeared in The Vertical Hour, an original play written by David Hare, as well as a stage workshop of Uncle Vanya. Faydra will mark Moore’s first time back on the stage since those projects.

Performances of Faydra begin off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) starting Feb. 2, 2027, and will open on Feb. 25. It will be directed by Les Waters, known for his work alongside Ruhl on In the Next Room.

Waters took to social media with the announcement, saying that he’s “Proud to be a part of this and to reunite with Julianna Moore and Sarah Ruhl and MTC.”

MTC’s artistic director, Nicki Hunter, also expressed excitement for Faydra.

“There’s nothing like watching a homegrown Manhattan Theatre Club commission become a magnet for talent,” Hunter said in a statement obtained by Parade. “Sarah Ruhl’s bold, funny, and devastating reimagining of this classic tale will draw the immensely gifted Julianne Moore back to the stage, and mark Les Waters’ return to MTC after three decades.

Hunter continued, saying that MTC is looking forward “to announcing additions to this exciting company in the months ahead.”

While general sales haven’t been announced yet, tickets are available now for MTC subscribers and patrons.

The Nancy Guthrie investigation continues more than six months after her disappearance, and based on a recent report, the FBI is not giving up.

"FBI teams have been back in Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood in the last couple of weeks," Brian Entin of News Nation was told by Guthrie's Tucson neighbors on Monday, August 10. "I'm told that the FBI agents were in an area kind of behind Nancy's house."

According to Entin, there is an alley-like dirt path that trails behind Guthrie's home.

"One of the neighbors was telling me that she saw an FBI agent back in that area," he revealed.

While it's unclear exactly why the FBI has a renewed interest in the area, Entin theorized that the rainy season in Arizona may have shifted or uncovered previously buried evidence.

Entin's latest report comes nearly three weeks after former FBI agent Steve Moore claimed the case had gone "completely cold."

"They don’t close those cases ever, but they’ll give them to new agents who are coming in with a new set of eyes who are not indoctrinated into the way the FBI necessarily investigates everything," Moore told Entin on July 21. "And sometimes people see them in a different light.”

He explained that a case going cold is "not acceptable" within the FBI, who are under "immense" pressure to solve every case.

"What you’re probably looking at is the FBI is evaluating not just the case, but how they work the case and trying to find what they can do to look at it from a different standpoint," Moore said. "And so I don’t see right now that they are giving up on the case by any stretch of the mind, but I do believe if I were them, I’d be evaluating whether we had the right people on it."

Guthrie was first reported missing on February 1. She was last seen the evening prior during a family dinner hosted by her daughter Annie Guthrie.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has been working alongside the FBI's Phoenix Division to solve the case.

The destination music vacation will also see Styx perform two headlining shows, with supporting bands including Tesla, The Marshall Tucker Band, the Eagles’ Don Felder, 38 Special, Jefferson Starship, The Outlaws, and so many more. Renowned rock personality Eddie Trunk will be on hand to lead exclusive guest experiences, again, all curated by Styx themselves.

The event is set for Oct. 8-10 in Miramar Beach, Florida, with single, lawn, and pit passes available. This year marks the event’s second gathering and promises a memorable weekend of classic arena rock, yacht rock, and progressive rock hits.
