15 Years Ago This Chart-Topping Pop Diva Had Twins
Grammy Award-winning pop diva Mariah Careywelcomed twins, Moroccan and Monroe, 15 years ago—on April 30, 2011. The iconic performer shares her son and daughter with her ex, Nick Cannon.
Carey and Cannon shocked fans when the couple married in 2008. While they initially met at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards, romance wasn’t immediately in the air.
After only weeks of dating, the pair tied the knot in a seaside ceremony at Carey’s Bahamian estate. The newlyweds spoke to People after their nuptials, explaining why they married so quickly. Cannon said, “In our minds, it was a love-at-first-sight thing. Since we’ve been together, we’ve been inseparable, and Carey noted, “I don’t think anyone realized what we already knew, that we were going to get married.”
During the 2008 interview, People also asked the couple about having children. While it was still three years before their twins would arrive, both Carey and Cannon were all in. Canon led with a definite “Absolutely,” and Mariah answered the question, “So have you thought about having kids?” with a straightforward “Yes.”

According to reports, Monroe, whose name was inspired by big screen legend Marilyn Monroe, was born first. Moroccan followed shortly after.
Carey and Cannon later parted ways, separating in 2014 and finalizing their divorce in 2016. Cannon is famously now the father of 12 children with several women. Along with Carey’s kids, his brood includes Golden Sagon, Rise Messiah, and Powerful Queen Cannon (with Brittany Bell), Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin (with Abby De La Rosa), Onyx Ice Cole (with LaNisha Cole), Legendary Love (with Selling Sunset’sBre Tiesi), and Halo Marie Cannon (with Alyssa Scott). Cannon and Scott’s son, Zen, tragically lost his life at only five months old following a battle with brain cancer.
Who Are Mariah Carey’s Twins?Like their famous mom, Carey’s twins seem to enjoy the spotlight. Both have joined the pop star on stage, and in 2021, Monroe started modeling, starring in a campaign for OshKosh B’Gosh. The proud mommy recently posted a sweet family Easter snapshot on Instagram. Moroccan commented on the pic, joking, “Y'all, I am tall, I had to do the splits to take this photo.”

What Kacey Musgraves Just Called 93-Year-Old Willie Nelson Has Country Fans Smiling
Kacey Musgraves just gave Willie Nelson the absolute perfect moniker, and country fans couldn't agree more.
In a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the Grammy-winning star opened up about working with Nelson on "Uncertain, TX" from her upcoming album "Middle of Nowhere. "Her description of the 93-year-old legend? "Everyone's favorite gangster great-grandpa."
"Anytime I can have everyone's favorite gangster great-grandpa on anything. I mean, I love him so much. He's the patriarch of truth, country music," Musgraves, 37, explained.
The endearing nickname perfectly captures what makes Nelson so beloved to all — he's warm, slightly rebellious, wise beyond measure, and someone literally everyone loves. As Musgraves mentioned at a previous Grammy event honoring Nelson, "Underdogs, outliers, republicans, rappers, presidents — everyone loves Willie."
This marks the third time the duo has collaborated, following "Are You Sure" from her "Pageant Material" album and "A Willie Nice Christmas" from "A Very Kacey Christmas.”

Working with Nelson comes with one notable requirement: efficiency. "He walks in, does the take, and literally, that's it. So it better work. He's like, 'I'm in my 90s... I'm giving you 30 seconds, and then I'm out,'" Musgraves shared, laughing.
Her response to that? "I f---ing get it. He's earned that. He's a true American legend; the man transcends space and time. He's absolutely amazing.”
Nelson's one-take approach isn't about being difficult — it's about professionalism honed over six decades and more than 200 albums. At 93, he knows exactly what he wants and delivers it perfectly the first time.
Willie Nelson's Ability to Unite Everyone Makes Him Country Music's Most Beloved LegendMusgraves also talked about her experience "in a recreational smoking situation with Willie Nelson," noting that you have to "be really careful" because "you're just like, I don't know how to form sentences anymore. My motor skills are completely gone."
Photo by Houston Chronicle/Hearst Newspapers on Getty Images
But beyond the legendary stories and efficient studio sessions, what makes Nelson truly such a special human being is a point that Musgraves emphasized: "He brings so many different kinds of people together, which is one thing I really love about him."
At 93, Willie Nelson continues touring consistently and collaborating with artists across multiple genres and generations. His ability to unite people — from underdogs to presidents, rappers to country purists — remains unmatched in American music. He truly is one of a kind. They broke the mode when they made Willie.

As Musgraves joked about once suggesting Nelson run for president, his response was perfect: "Because I'd win."
Of course he would. Because when you're everyone's favorite gangster great-grandpa, that's just what happens.
"Middle of Nowhere" releases May 1 and features additional collaborations with Gregory Alan Isakov, Billy Strings and Miranda Lambert.

D’Angelo, 74, who originated the role of Ellen Griswold alongside Chevy Chase‘s Clark W. Griswold in the first National Lampoon’s Vacation film in 1983, played the iconic role of Ellen in several follow-ups, including 1989’s beloved holiday version, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Last weekend, the duo got back together to celebrate the actor’s big 86th birthday, Page Six reported. Now that’s keeping the friendship alive!

What Has D’Angelo Said About Having Twins at 49 With Pacino? When asked about raising kids in Hollywood, D’Angelo said that lifestyle wasn’t for her.
“I did not raise my kids in that culture,” D’Angelo told PEOPLE. “If I would have been more focused, maybe I would have had a bigger career, but I was focused on my kids, to tell you the truth.”
D’Angelo previously spoke about giving birth at 49, a rarity in any culture.
“I had kids really late — I gave birth to twins six weeks after I turned 49,” she told Fox News Digital. “It was really important to me to place them at the center of my world. So, I wouldn’t do any films that would take me out of town for any amount of time. I did television, I did some indie films and things like that, but my focus was really to always be emotionally and physically available to my kids.”
D’Angelo went on to say that she was inspired as a parent by the stable childhood her parents gave her while growing up in Ohio.
“There’s this thing that happens when you have kids,” D’Angelo shared. “All of a sudden, you go, ‘Oh, wait a minute, my parents.’ You look at how you were raised. Maybe some of the things that you thought were a drag when you were a kid turn out to be exactly what you want to pass on. And my value system has never included a lot of hype or a lot of focus on fame.”
Ultimately, D’Angelo chose to put her children before her acting career.
“And I’ve got to make a confession: I’m not a careerist,” she told the publication. “I have never been. Everything I’ve done is because I love a script or a character. But as far as pursuing a career, I wasn’t somebody who had a dream like, ‘One day I’m going to grow up and become an actress.’ That’s not me. I never thought, ‘If I do this role, maybe I’ll get this other role.’ I’ve always just been motivated by a profound need to express myself.”

Chobani’s Unexpected New Creamer Stirs a Commotion
Chobani has a new coffee creamer heading out and fans are beyond curious about the classic dessert-inspired flavor.
The cult-favorite yogurt and creamer brand is always looking to impress consumers, offering a wide assortment of flavors that tap into hot trends and reimagine nostalgic favorites. The company also recently debuted a new "Flavor Drop" series that it said would bring many "unique" flavors to the creamer aisle for an extremely limited time—we're not talking a seasonal, limited-edition drop, but one that's set to be around for only a few weeks at a time.
Its first Flavor Drop—Raspberry Rose—hit the market in mid-January and disappeared shortly after Valentine's Day. Now, Parade has learned that its second Flavor Drop creamer is due out in a few weeks, just in time to kick off summer, and fans seem rather impatient to just get it in their hands already.
Just as they rallied around Raspberry Rose, Chobani's upcoming American Blueberry coffee creamer flavor is getting a similarly warm welcome.
Chobani Fans Have a Lot to Say About New Blueberry CreamerChobani hasn't yet debuted the flavor, but 24-fluid-ounce cartons have already hit the Target app, which led to the flavor going viral earlier this week. Presumably, it was inspired by the classic combo of topping blueberry pie with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and we expect it to taste something like a mixture of blueberry and sweet cream.
"OMG I NEED," one excited Instagram user wrote. "I had a blueberry white chocolate mocha before and it was soo good."

"Ooh I need this," a second echoed. "Right now I make homemade blueberry syrup for my coffees. This sounds amazing."
"Ooooo interesting 🤔," a third shared. "I like blueberry but not sure how it would taste with cream lol."
Others who appeared more hesitant called it "Intriguing" and said it "sounds interesting."
View this post on Instagram Where Will Chobani's New Limited-Edition Creamer Flavor be Available? So far, Chobani's American Blueberry Flavor Drop Creamer has been spotted in the Target app for $5.99 (prices may vary), with an estimated rollout date of June 14. As of now, it's unclear whether the flavor is limited to Target stores or will be available at other Chobani retailers.

Kate Hudson & Justin Theroux Reveal Why Catherine O’Hara Was Truly Irreplaceable
Actors Kate Hudson and Justin Theroux are remembering Catherine O'Hara's warmth and grace, recalling what made her completely irreplaceable both on set and off it.
Theroux worked with O'Hara on the Tim Burton-directed 2024 film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, sharing that he witnessed her genius firsthand on set. "Every take she did, she would produce something different," he recounted on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen AfterShow. "She's one of those people. It's just sort of like a fire hose. And any director who works with her or any editor, I'm sure it's literally just about like siphoning off the gold that just flowed out of her when she was doing comedy."
He went on to describe her as a "treasure," admitting he was nervous to work with her. "I was happy to work with her, and she's one of those people, like Kate too, that when you're working with her, you can't believe you're getting to work with the person that you've seen so long be so funny and wonderful. And she and the person really did match the exterior, as far as how she presented."
What really stood out to Hudson was how O'Hara was as a mother. "Can I add just because she was the best mom, and she's a family woman. She has the most beautiful family, and I just know that she's going to be so profoundly missed both creatively and personally, like she was just such a wonderful..."
Theroux couldn't help but interject, sharing that while O'Hara was shy, she wasn't a recluse. "She went to work, and she did press, and she did events, but she really, when she wasn't working, she kind of her and [husband] Bo [Welch] I think turned off and she was the least kind of Hollywood person you know that I'd met."
He added, "She's just a wonderful, wonderful woman. Sorely missed."
Neil Patrick Harris' Twins Are All Grown Up In Rare Red Carpet Appearance: 'Weren't They Just Babies?'
The Burtka-Harris's had a family night out over the weekend.
On Sunday, Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka along with their twins Gideon and Harper Grace, all attended the opening night of 'The Lost Boys' on Broadway.
The twins, who are 15-years-old ,posed for photos along with their parents at the show's red carpet. Dressed up for the occasion, Gideon sported a blazer jacket and Harper donned an edgy mesh top paired with a bright red skirt and lace leggings, perhaps as a nod to the rebellious teens in the show.

While both Harris and Burtka share photos of their kids on social media somewhat regularly, fans still couldn't get over how old the siblings were in pics of the premiere that circulated online.
"I can't believe how grown they are now," one Reddit user wrote. "I remember seeing them as babies in their annual Halloween photos"
"Oh, so actually his kids are 5 years old tops," another joked. "Thank you very much. Put this photo away you're messing with my timeline."
"Cute family. I must be elderly. I thought they were toddlers," another said.
"Holy sh-- weren't their kids just babies?? Where does the time go!!" a fan in disbelief added.

I even joined the team as a Co-Producer and investor (something I’ve never done before). I’m that convinced. And we can soon share it with the world at the legendary Palace Theatre."

1974 Rock Hit Sent a 1962 Classic Back to No. 1 52 Years Ago Today
On this day in 1974, a song that had already been a No. 1 hit once before pulled off something almost unheard of—it climbed all the way back to the top again.
Grand Funk Railroad’s version of “The Loco-Motion” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 28, 1974, 12 years after the original recording by Little Eva first topped the chart in 1962.
Related: 1974 Smash Made History When It Hit No. 1 52 Years Ago Today
At the time, it was only the second song of the rock era to reach No. 1 in America by two different artists—a rare feat that put it in elite company.
The story behind the 1974 version is almost as unlikely as its chart success.
Related: 1968 Hit Ranked Among ‘Best Road-Trip Songs’ of All Time
Producer Todd Rundgren reportedly heard members of Grand Funk Railroad casually “messing around” with the song in the studio and immediately pushed them to record it as a single. What had originally been a light, dance-driven pop tune was reimagined with heavy drums, layered harmonies and a harder rock edge. It was a complete transformation that still somehow preserved the song’s infectious core.
It worked.
The band’s version climbed steadily before reaching No. 1, where it stayed for two weeks. It also became one of the defining hits of their career and helped push their album Shinin’ On into the spotlight.
Related: 1964 Song Ranked in ‘Greatest Songs of All Time’ Became a Powerful Anthem
Even John Lennon took notice during a 1974 interview about current hits, saying, “I like ‘Loco-Motion,’ thought that was a great record.”
But the song’s chart story didn’t end there.
Nearly 15 years later, in 1988, Kylie Minogue released her own version, which became a global hit and reached No. 3 on the Hot 100, which gave “The Loco-Motion” an extraordinary distinction.
It remains one of the only songs in history to reach the Top 3 in three different decades—and the only one to appear three separate times on Fred Bronson’s “Top 3000 Songs of the Rock Era” ranking in Billboard’s Hottest Hot 100 Hits.
Not bad for a song that started as a demo recorded by a babysitter, which Little Eva was when Carole King and Gerry Goffin wrote it in the early '60s.
More than 60 years after its debut, “The Loco-Motion” still stands as one of the clearest examples of how the right song, at the right moment, can keep finding new life no matter the decade.
The Greek Islands, Hotels and ‘Secret’ Beaches Chef Suzy Karadsheh Is Loving Right Now
For Suzy Karadsheh, the founder of The Mediterranean Dish, traveling through Greece isn’t about checking off the most-liked spots on Instagram; it’s a culinary pilgrimage. While the world flocks to the blue-domed heights of Santorini, Karadsheh finds the true soul of the country in philoxenia—the ancient Greek concept of "love for the stranger." "The Greeks have this word for hospitality—Philoxenia—and it literally translates to ‘love of stranger,’" Karadsheh says. It’s a philosophy that transforms a standard vacation into a series of deep, authentic connections, starting with the largest island in the Mediterranean: Crete.

Mountain Traditions and the Art of the Cretan FeastSuzy Karadsheh, the founder of The Mediterranean Dish
Karadsheh notes that while most travelers use Crete as a quick cruise stop, the authentic Crete reveals itself in the mountains. She recommends a 48-hour deep dive into the village of Livadia, where you can visit working shepherd homes to witness the making of lamb antikristo. This traditional method involves salting the meat heavily and slow-cooking it on vertical spits over an open fire for six hours. "We visited a working shepherd’s home and ended up spending the good part of the day making cheese and cooking lamb," she recalls. Finding the Authentic Side of SantoriniWhen it comes to the "classic" Greek aesthetic, Karadsheh suggests skipping the crowded center of Oia and heading to Kamari Beach on Santorini’s eastern coast. This black-sand haven offers a quieter home base just 15 minutes from the action. For a meal that feels like a secret, she points travelers 30 minutes south to The Cave of Nikolas at Akrotiri. This family-owned taverna was literally carved by hand out of a cave by "Uncle Nikolas" and serves fresh fish caught that morning. "It's a family-owned taverna where they serve you fresh fish that’s caught and you get to go pick the fish from a bin," Karadsheh explains. You won’t find a standardized menu here; instead, you tell the family exactly how you want it grilled or fried.

In Athens, Karadsheh’s recommendation is the Electra Metropolis Hotel. While it’s a modern five-star property, its entrance is home to a tiny 16th-century church—one of the few surviving Ottoman-period Christian sites—that you literally have to walk around to enter. It's just Athens—it’s really where old and new meet," she notes. The rooftop breakfast offers what she calls a "worshipful" view of the Acropolis before the city’s bustle begins. To truly eat like a local in the capital, she suggests a visit to Kuzina, where Chef Aris Tsanaklidis blends his global culinary background with traditional Greek flavors, creating modern icons like feta-stuffed loukoumades (savory honey dumplings). Whether you are exploring the cobblestone streets of the Plaka or sourcing Koroneiki olive oil in Kythera, Karadsheh insists that the best souvenir isn't an object, but the realization that in Greece, you are never truly a stranger at the table.
Suzy’s Insider Tips for a Seamless Greek EscapeNavigating the islands can often feel intimidating for first-timers, but Karadsheh insists that the best strategy is simply to lean into the local hospitality. She suggests making fast friends with your hotel concierge, who can often arrange car services or ferry logistics that aren't always obvious on a standard booking site. When it comes to packing, skip the heavy wardrobe and prioritize a reusable water bottle—the tap water in Greece is excellent—and a pair of reliable walking shoes for those steep, cobblestone climbs. Most importantly, Karadsheh advises travelers to embrace the "student" mindset. If you aren't sure what to order, ask the server for the day’s freshest catch or a local specialty not on the main menu. In her experience, the most memorable moments happen when you stop acting like a tourist and start letting the locals lead the way.

Little Debbie Debuts Three New Nerdy Nuts Flavors That Fans Are in Love With: 'I Need to Try These'
It's always an exciting time whenever Little Debbie announces a brand-new expansion of its increasingly versatile product lineup.
Such is especially the case when we're talking about the iconic brand's recent collaboration with Nerdy Nuts, paving the way to multiple accessible peanut butter flavors sweet enough to eat with a spoon.
Just as their previous collab with Nerdy Nuts yielded some memorably delicious results, Little Debbie has once again given fans good reason to celebrate with three new snack cake-inspired flavors within Nerdy Nuts' portfolio.
According to a recent Instagram post from the company, Nerdy Nuts is cashing in on their continued partnership with Little Debbie by rolling out three new flavors based on some of the brand's most famous treats. This includes:
- Star Crunch Peanut Butter Treat: "'Smunchy' sweet dark chocolate peanut butter is layered on gooey caramel topping, topped with chocolate crispy rice cereal, and caramel bits! One of the most popular Little Debbie treats in peanut butter mode."
- Cosmic Brownie Peanut Butter Treat: "'Smunchy' sweet cocoa milk chocolate peanut butter is layered on chocolate sauce, topped with rich chocolate icing, brownie bites and those nostalgic rainbow candy-coated chocolate gems."
- Strawberry Shortcake Peanut Butter Roll: "'Smunchy' vanilla cake-flavored peanut butter is layered on strawberry sauce, swirled with whipped cream flavored mallow frosting, vanilla wafers, & a dusting of strawberry powder!"
All three flavors are currently available on Nerdy Nuts' official website, with prices listed around $13.99 per 16 oz jar.
As expected, the brand-new treat has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from longtime peanut butter lovers and Little Debbie fans out there, many of whom were quick to voice their excitement on social media.
"I NEED TO TRY THESE," one fan commented on Instagram.
"Y'all are sabotaging my summer body," added another user with a laughing face emoji.
How 'Game of Thrones' Broke a Massive 'Lord of the Rings' Record
Comparisons are often made between HBO's Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. They're both epic sci-fi/fantasy worlds that have accumulated a huge number of fans over the years. They both have otherworldly characters and a power struggle. But when it comes to the battle scenes, GoT took the top spot from LOTR when it released Season 8, Episode 3: "The Long Night."
The episode was aptly named, as the battle between the Night King and his Army of the Dead and the living was filmed at night over 11 weeks. Clocking in at 81 minutes, "The Long Night" surpassed The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' Battle of Helm's Deep's (also known as the Battle of the Hornburg) 44-minute run time when it was released on April 28, 2019.

However, despite the GoT episode breaking LOTR's record, director Miguel Sapochnik admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he rewatched the Battle of Helm's Deep scene to get an idea of how to create a battle scene that wouldn't give the audience "fatigue."
"For my reference point I watched [The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers] because the siege is a 40-minute sequence, but it’s actually three different battles in three different places intercut," he explained. With a runtime that was twice as long as LOTR, he decided the best solution was to switch things up.
"There’s suspense and horror and action and drama and we’re not stuck in killing upon killing because then everybody gets desensitized and it doesn’t mean anything," he said.
When The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was released 17 years before "The Long Night," fans marveled at the detail, CGI, and emotional depth of the Battle of Helm's Deep. King Théoden (Bernard Hill) led his people to the fortress, believing they'd be safe from Saruman's Orcs, Uruk-hai, and Dunlendings. "The Hornburg has never fallen to assault," Théoden infamously declared.
After the fortress is breached by an explosion, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and a group of Elf warriors fight to keep the enemies out. Eventually, Gandalf (Ian McKellen) shows up with the Rohirrim, and they win the battle.
According to executive producer Mark Ordesky, it took 120 days to shoot the memorable and epic scene; it definitely paid off. Thanks to the Battle of Helm's Deep, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers won twoAcademy Awards—one for Visual Effects and another for Sound Editing. To this day, it's still considered one of the greatest battle scenes in cinematic history.
Inside Every ‘Stranger Things’ Spinoff So Far — And What’s Coming Next
Thought we were done with the Upside Down? Think again: It's back to Hawkins, Indiana we go with Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, the animated spinoff of the Netflixsci-fi juggernaut Stranger Things, which capped its five-season run on the streamer with a very action-packed (albeit polarizing, especially regarding Eleven’s ambiguous ending) series finale on New Year's Eve 2025.
The first screen spin-off in the Hawkins universe, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 will reunite fans with beloved characters like Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max, just in cartoon form. The series is executive produced by original Stranger Things creatorsMatt and Ross Duffer, who have called the animated spin-off "a dream."
In a statement to Netflix’s Tudum, the Duffers said: “We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling...The scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
But that's not the only spinoff reportedly in store for fans, as the Duffer brothers have also teased a live-action extension of the Stranger Things universe. With Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 officially now on Netflix, here's everything you need to know about all of the Stranger Things spinoff reportedly in the works.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85COURTESY OF NETFLIX
What's Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 about?“In the winter of 1985, snow blankets the town and the horrors of the Upside Down are finally fading,” the official synopsis for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 reads. “Our heroes Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into a normal life of D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days. But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab? Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins in this untold story set in the Stranger Things universe.”
According to showrunner Eric Robles, the spin-off expands the mythology of Hawkins while keeping the vibe playfully nostalgic, taking place between the second and third seasons of the live-action original, in the winter of 1985.
Speaking with Empire Magazine, Robles explained: “We wanted to go back to Hawkins and feel like a lost season.” The TV exec also added that the new show will hark back to the franchise's early days, “when the kids weren’t trying to save the world — they were just trying to save the town.”

Who's in the Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 cast?Let's get the bad news out of the way, shall we? No, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp nor any of the other original Stranger Things cast members are reprising their roles for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.
But good news, that just means that you have the opportunity to meet an entirely new vocal cast as they take on characters you already know and love: Brooklyn Davey Norstedt stars as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will and Brett Gipson as Hopper. (Additional voices include Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo and Lou Diamond Phillips.)
Is Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 out yet?Yes, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 premiered on Netflix on Friday, April 23. Graciously, unlike the split-release nature of the last season of Stranger Things, all 10 episodes dropped in one fell swoop and are already available to stream. (Here's what fans are saying so far about the animated series.)

What's the untitled live-action Stranger Things spinoff about?Aside from Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, the Duffers are also reportedly developing a live-action Stranger Things spinoff for Netflix, though few concrete details have been released thus far from the powers that be. Here's what we do know: "It's different characters, different town, different story. But it's connected in some ways to the flagship," Ross Duffer revealed in a December 2025 interview with Comic Book Resources. "We really wanted [season 5 of Stranger Things] to be the end of the story of Hawkins and the Upside Down and these characters and close the door."
The new show will include a detail from the old one, though: the rock Henry Creel finds in that briefcase in the final season of Stranger Things. "The spinoff is going to delve into that and explain that, and you’re going to understand it," Matt Duffer told Variety in January. "But it’s a completely different mythology. So it’s not a deep exploration of the Mind Flayer or anything like that. It’s very fresh and very new, but yes, it will answer some of the loose threads that are remaining."
"It’s an idea we’ve had for years and something we’re just really excited and passionate about," Ross Duffer shared with The Hollywood Reporter. "We won’t be showrunning that show, but we’ll be heavily involved. So, as the new year comes around, we’re going to start spending more time on that. Hopefully it’s something announced soon-ish.

Who's in the cast of the untitled live-action Stranger Things spinoff? So far, no casting pronouncements have been made regarding the Duffers' live-action Stranger Things spinoff. However, unlike the Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 animated spinoff, don't expect to hear from Eleven, Hopper and the rest of the Hawkins gang. "This is the end of the story for these characters of Hawkins, for the Upside Down," Ross Duffer said to THR about the Stranger Things season finale, which dropped on Netflix on New Year's Eve. Rather, the planned live-action series will feature "a different decade and different characters, but of course, still connected to the Stranger Things universe."
However, it seems like an O.G. Stranger Things star also has intel about the spinoff. Likening the planned series to David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Finn Wolfhard told Variety that the live-action show is "sort of an anthology and different tones but similar universe or same universe. I think set in different places and all tied together through this mythology of the Upside Down. Don’t even talk about Hawkins. Don’t have any mention of our characters," he joked.
"They were toying around with ideas in case Netflix wanted them. I’m sure they do, and I’m sure it will happen, but there’s nothing official," the actor added. "I think the coolest way, the way that I would do it, there has to be labs everywhere. If there was one in Hawkins, there’s one in Russia. Where else could they be?”
When is the untitled live-action Stranger Things spinoff coming out?A release window has not yet been announced for the live-action Stranger Things spinoff, but Parade will keep you posted as soon as we know timeframes!

The first expansion of the Stranger Things universe was actually made for the stage, not the screen: Written by Kate Refry from an original story by the Duffer Brothers and Jack Thorn, Stranger Things: The First Shadow had its official opening night on April 22, 2025 at the Marquis Theatre in New York City and has been playing on Broadway ever since.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow acts both as a prequel to the five-season Netflix series as well as its own standalone story, taking place 20 years before Stranger Things and following Hopper, Joyce Maldonado (later Joyce Byers), Bob Newby and Henry Creel as students.
In 1950s Hawkins, Indiana, “the Creel family seeks a fresh start, especially their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past," reads the play's plot synopsis. "Initially, things go well—he finds friendship and joins the school play. But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a terrifying truth: is something inside him that connects him to the horrors unfolding around him?”
“As this thrilling mystery races forward, shadows of the past are unleashed, relationships are tested, and the town of Hawkins faces the ultimate question: Can the power of friendship outshine the darkness within?” the description continues.

1965 ‘Gilligan’s Island’ Episode, Starring a Rock Band, Was Ranked No. 1 in the Entire Series
Gilligan’s Island aired from 1964 until 1967, lasting only three seasons. Out of the 98 episodes that were released, the highest rated took place during season 2, according to IMDb. It was titled: “Don’t Bug the Mosquitos.”
The episode, which aired in December 1965, was about a rock band called The Mosquitoes (a play on The Beatles), who arrived on the island for a vacation to escape their fans. They planned to stay for a full month, but the castaways, hoping to hitch a ride with them, tried to make them miserable so they would leave earlier. Of course, when they ultimately escape on a helicopter, it’s without the main cast.
The Mosquitoes were portrayed by a real band called The Wellingtons. They sang the theme song for the first season of the show, called "The Ballad of Gilligan's Island." In addition to singing multiple tunes throughout this top-rated episode, their music can be heard over the radio in many other episodes.
However, The Mosquitoes weren't the only band featured in this episode. The Honeybees—which consisted of Ginger, Mary Ann and Mrs. Howell—also performed. They sang “You Need Us,” but Mary Ann’s singing voice was provided by Jackie DeShannon, the iconic singer who is known for "What the World Needs Now Is Love." She also wrote "When You Walk in the Room" and "Bette Davis Eyes."
One reviewer of this episode said, “If you've never seen Gilligan's Island, this is the first episode you should see. It is so funny! Everyone is at the top of their game and the plot hits every base on the field.”
Another said, "To me this is the best episode for a number of reasons. ... The creators of Gilligan's Island produced a perfect time capsule of what music and pop culture were at this time in America."

In addition to being a fan favorite, “Don’t Bug the Mosquitos” has also been rated one of the 5 best Gilligan's Island episodes from E! News. It comes in right below “The Producer,” which is about a Hollywood producer who lands on the island, causing the castaways to put on a performance of Hamlet.
1990 Beloved Garth Brooks Classic, Written on a Napkin, Is Ranked His Greatest Song Ever
What began as a quick scribble on a napkin would go on to become one of the most defining and beloved songs of Garth Brooks’ career.
Released in 1990, "Friends in Low Places" quickly resonated with fans and helped solidify Brooks as one of country music’s biggest stars of the decade. Over the years, it has remained a standout in his catalog, consistently ranking among his most celebrated and enduring hits.
In a 2025 list comprised of The Best Garth Brooks Songs by Ranker, "Friends in Low Places" came out on top. The song has taken on a life far beyond its chart success, becoming a defining anthem in country music and a staple at concerts, bars, and celebrations alike.
According to Wide Open Country, Dewayne Blackwell and Earl Bud Lee penned the song while at a Nashville, Tennessee music event. They previously floated the verse "friends in low places" from an idea that came after they couldn't afford to pay a restaurant bill.

Inspiration to write the song's lyrics came quick, but Blackwell and Lee didn't have any paper, only napkins. So they scribbled the lyrics on those temporarily.
According to American Songwriter, Lee admitted, “I’m not the best golfer in the world, but I can write a song. After a couple of bottles of champagne, the song just fell out on the bar. So, it was really a gift.”

Brooks ended up recording the song for as a demo singer while working as a shoe salesman in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He was contractually bound to songs included on his first LP, the self-titled Garth Brooks, but asked Lee and Blackwell to hold the song for him to record for his second album.
“Friends in Low Places” would become the first single from Brooks’ second studio album, No Fences. Brooks talked the song's success, as reported by Center Stage Mag.

“Well, the thing is, you’ve got to take what you’ve won and stick it back up on the table and gamble it again,” Brooks said of his success. "You have to. Once you’ve made it, to sit there and ride it out? That might be for some people. But for me? Why was I given this? I was stupid enough to go: ‘I was given it to gamble it all again!’ Take those chances. Take those risks.”
The song would go on reach No. 1 on Billboard's Country Music Chart in 1990 and spend four weeks at the top spot. The song followed the success of Brooks' first No. 1 hit, "If Tomorrow Never Comes" in late 1989 and the chart-topper "The Dance" in July 1990.
Garth Brooks is scheduled to perform at London's Hyde Park on June 27, 2026.

Following the 10-day mission, the Artemis II crew, traveling aboard the Orion spacecraft, broke the record for the farthest distance traveled in human spaceflight, previously set by the Apollo 13 mission 56 years ago.
In addition, the recent expedition marked the first time in history that the crew featured a diverse four-person team, which included a woman, a person of color, and a non-American astronaut.

1958 Surprise Smash Song, Which Saved a Record Company From Bankruptcy, Became a Hit 68 Years Ago
Ross Bagdasarian, who used the stage name David Seville, is most famous for creating the cartoon band, Alvin and the Chipmunks. He also performed on Broadway and appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window as a pianist. But one of his earliest accomplishments was writing and performing the hit novelty song, “Witch Doctor,” which became a Billboard No. 1 single 68 years ago today. It went on to sell 1.5 million copies.
The song was inspired by a book that was sitting on Bagdasarian’s shelf, called Duel with a Witch Doctor. Bagdasarian created the tune with the help of a $200 tape recorder, which was a large amount of money at that time. He recorded his voice at different speeds in order to create the high-pitched voice for the witch doctor to create the illusion of singing a duet with someone else. This was the same technique he would ultimately use to create songs for Alvin and The Chipmunks. The method was also imitated by other artists, such as Sheb Wooley, who created "The Purple People Eater."

Liberty Records released “Witch Doctor” in 1958, back when the company was struggling. They were close to bankruptcy when Bagdasarian released this surprise hit, which Billboard ranked as the No. 4 song for all of 1958.
As Black Gold Brooklyn reported, “With Liberty hinging on bankruptcy, [Bagdasarian] had successfully convinced the execs to allocate the remaining vinyl pucks and labels in the warehouse to pressing his new record ‘Witch Doctor.’ The song was an enormous number one hit and rescued the company.”
Since its release, the song has appeared in many different films and television shows, including The Rugrats Movie and The Muppet Show. However, it gained the most popularity when covers were released from Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Bagdasarian created many more songs throughout the course of his career. Another huge hit, "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late),” was released in November 1958 and topped the Billboard charts by New Year's Day. It also won three Grammy awards at the very first Grammy ceremony.
Bagdasarian died of a heart attack in his California home in January 1972 at the age of 52.
