Trader Joe’s Luxurious $6 Freezer Find Is a Delicate Fusion of Buttery French Flatbread Flavors

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:30pm

While I'll never be torn away from a good pepperoni slice, one of my favorite things about pizza is just how many ways it can be made. From breakfast-inspired pies and regional favorites to protein-loaded builds and veggie-heavy options, a good pizza isn't just about toppings or preparation. It should cater to your personal preferences, with no version truly better than the one you love most.

For this reason, I always find myself browsing the frozen pizza section at Trader Joe's. While not every option is a hit, there are a few diamonds in the rough, and I'm always on the hunt for something new. This week, however, I took a chance on a familiar face I somehow had never tried before: Trader Joe's Maître Pierre Tarte d'Alsace. Straddling the line between pizza and a rich, delicate French pastry, to say this $6 freezer find impressed me would be a complete understatement.

Maître Pierre Tarte d'Alsace, $5.99 at Trader Joe's

Nathan Hutsenpiller

Perfect as a light bite shared between two friends or a heavier meal for one, Trader Joe's Maître Pierre Tarte d'Alsace comes in an eight-ounce box and heats in as little as 10 minutes. Based on a 100-year-old recipe from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, this unique, rich and crispy creation truly exists in a lane of its own. And with a 20-year history of being a regular in Trader Joe's freezers across the country, it's amazing it can still find its way into someone's kitchen and completely catch them off guard.

Pizza or Tart?

Nathan Hutsenpiller

So is it a pizza or a tart? In short, it's both. This French-style flatbread starts with a thin, delicate, folded crust that's fired for just the right balance of rich flavor and crisp texture. From there, it's topped with crème fraîche, caramelized onions, thinly sliced ham and Gruyère cheese for an elegant flavor profile that will leave you wondering where it's been all your life. Best of all, in an oven preheated to 450°F, you can have it piping hot and ready in just eight to 10 minutes.

Generously Topped and Well-Executed

Nathan Hutsenpiller

Speaking of toppings, this is where this frozen find first impressed me. After removing it from its box and peeling away the plastic wrapping, I was pleased with both the amount of toppings and the way they were arranged. The ham slices, albeit small, are nice and plump, while the caramelized onions, dollops of crème fraîche and Gruyère cheese fill the remaining surface area evenly, with none overpowering the others.

If you have any experience with frozen pizza, you know this is not something every brand gets right. And for a humble serving meant to be shared, this one knocks it out of the park.

So, Is It Worth It?

Nathan Hutsenpiller

Promising a satisfying mouthfeel, soft yet crispy bite and an amalgamation of rich, inviting flavors, I'd say Trader Joe's Maître Pierre Tarte d'Alsace is absolutely worth the purchase. It's a classic thin-crust design that works perfectly as an appetizer to impress guests or paired with a hearty side salad and breadsticks for a cozy dinner for two. That said, all it takes is one look at the perfectly charred bottom crust to realize the attention to detail throughout the pie is totally on point.

If you find it in stock at your neighborhood location, grab it and try it for yourself. And while you're there, why not snag one of these 12 Best TJ's Baked Goods, too? Or, for easier dinner ideas, Trader Joe's Spicy Alfredo Fusilli Pasta is also a solid option.

2000 Box Office Flop Ranked Among the ‘Greatest Movies of the 21st Century’

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:27pm

One of the greatest movies of this century was beloved by critics but fizzled at the box office. Collider has ranked the 2000 comedy-drama film Almost Famous one of the greatest movies of the 21st century. The Cameron Crowe film, which was semi-autobiographical, followed a teen journalist (Patrick Fugit) hired to follow the fictional band Stillwater for a cover story for Rolling Stone magazine in the 1970s. It featured a star-studded cast with Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Frances McDormand.

Collider described Almost Famous as “a remarkable character study across multiple creative facets of the music industry that is powered by sensitive and sharp writing and outstanding performances.”

“Funny and touching, but also poignant and considered, Almost Famous is an immersive gem about the mania and magic of music and the people who make it,” the review concluded.

'Almost Famous' received positive reviews but failed at the box office

Writer and director Crowe had high hopes for Almost Famous. In an interview with Empire shortly before its release, he said he had one goal for the film. “I want people to leave the movie remembering, feeling a little bit of the way they feel when they hear a song that they feel was written just for them,” he shared. ‘That was what I was chasing.”

Reviews were positive. Roger Ebert gave Almost Famousa four-star review and called it “a lovely film.” The film was also nominated for four Academy Awards, winning the Oscar for best screenplay for Crowe.

But it didn’t do well at the box office. In October 2000, the Los Angeles Times noted that Almost Famous cost $60 million to make and then “failed to find an audience.” At the time, it had only grossed $23 million and was expected to cap out at $35 million, which was well below production costs.

“Everybody went to see this rerelease of The Exorcist instead,” Crowe told Rolling Stone in 2020. “It wasn’t a surprise when the movie didn’t do that well in the theater.  …It felt like the long arm of 1973 came back to slap us down.”

“We were an underdog that gathered support over the years,” he added of the film’s later popularity.

In 2025, Crowe said Almost Famous was “a love letter to music” and expressed gratitude for seeing his dream come to fruition. “I'm just so grateful that we had the gift of being able to make it,” he told People magazine in an interview. “We did whatever it would take to get us to the story that we wanted to tell, which is about loving music. And everybody in that movie loved music.”

'American Pie' Star Earned $1 Million in 1 Week After Major Career Shift: Report

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:18pm

Years after becoming a household name thanks to American PieShannon Elizabeth has found massive financial success through a completely different career path. According to Page Six, the actress earned nearly $1 million in a single week after joining OnlyFans, marking a surprising new chapter.

"Over half of that was earned through direct messages to OnlyFans users, while tips and posts accounted for the rest," a source told the outlet.

In an interview with People magazine that was published on April 15, Elizabeth, 52, explained her reasons for joining the adult platform.

“I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career," she told the outlet. "This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans."

"I'm choosing OnlyFans because it allows me to connect directly with my audience, create on my own terms, and just be free. I really do think this is the future," she continued.

Elizabeth's OnlyFans profile is a bit flirty as she entices fans by calling herself "a little mischievous." Her bio promises a "more playful, spontaneous, and completely unscripted" look at her life.

The actress' OnlyFans news came shortly after Elizabeth filed for divorce from Simon Borchert. As for what she plans to do with the money she earns from the site, her rep told Page Six that some of it will go to her charity, the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation.

Viewers Sound Off on New Zorro and Django Crossover Movie: 'Just Crazy Enough to Work!'

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:18pm

Twelve years after its initial debut as a limited-issue comic book series, a planned movie adaptation of Django/Zorro is officially moving forward in production, as recently revealed by Variety.

While the project itself remains in very early production, Brian Helgeland, the Oscar-winning writer of L.A. Confidential, has recently been tapped to provide the movie's script.

The film, which would act as an official crossover between Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and 1999's The Mask of Zorro, would mark the second sequel to a pre-existing Tarantino movie without the Pulp Fiction filmmaker's direct involvement, following the upcoming release of the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, on Netflix.

While Variety reported the new movie would incorporate a new central story, the overall concept of a crossover between Zorro and Django originated with Tarantino and Matt Wagner's 2014 comic book series, Django/Zorro.

Within the context of the series, Django/Zorro focused on the unlikely partnership between the two fabled Western legends in the American Southwest, this time battling a corrupt aristocrat using Indigenous Americans as enslaved laborers.

Over the past few years, an official adaptation of the comic has periodically been discussed, although no concrete headway has been made until this year. While it's not yet known who might star or direct the film, it is clear that Tarantino won't be returning to helm the project in any major directorial capacity.

While most audiences might be bogged down in crossover fatigue from all the mainstream superheromovies making their way to theaters, some viewers expressed their personal excitement at the possibility of a Django/Zorro adaptation.

"I actually don't hate this," one fan wrote on Facebook. "Django always felt a bit untapped... But yeah, a Django followup that's also a Zorro crossover? Just crazy enough to work!"

18 Years Ago Today, Katy Perry Kicked Off Her Career With a Controversial Hit That Defined Late 2000s Pop

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:17pm

Noted as one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, Katy Perry was not an overnight sensation. Still, after minimal success with the release of her gospel album Katy Hudson in 2001, the "Queen of Camp" made a mainstream splash on this very day in 2008 with her debut hit single, "I Kissed a Girl."

Perry's song from her pop album One of the Boys spent seven consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 2008 and topped international music charts. The singer-songwriter also earned a Grammy nod for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 2009 and five 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, including one for Best New Artist and another for Best Female Video.

From the music video for the lead single itself to live performances, Perry was on a consistent roll, showcasing bold, kitschy looks to match the audacity of the song in the late 2000s. "I Kissed a Girl" brought queerness to the forefront of the music industry and world in a way that captivated audiences, for better or worse.

The success of Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" was met with controversy. In 2008, conversations around gender fluidity and bisexuality were not as prevalent as in today's society, and the song caused conversation and debate both in pop culture and nationwide churches. As reported by the Advocatein September 2008, a Christian church in Blacklick, Ohio exchanged Perry's lyrics from the song, "I kissed a girl and I liked it," with its own spin — "I kissed a girl and I liked it, then I went to hell." Perry herself was raised by "evangelical-minister parents" and in 2011 famously told Vanity Fair she "didn't have a childhood," due to her religious upbringing.

In addition, late singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, who released her chart-topper of the same title in 1995, had unveiled her own scathing opinions about "I Kissed a Girl" and Perry.

In a 2009 interview with The Rumpus, she stated, "As a musician, I have always refrained from criticizing another artist. I was, 'Well, good for her.' It did bug me a little bit, however, when she said she came up with the idea for the title in a dream. In truth, she wrote it with a team of professional writers and was signed by the very same guy that signed me in 1995. I have not mentioned that in interviews as I don't want to sound bitter or petty — 'cause, that's not me. Okay, maybe, if I really think about it, there were a few jealous and pissed off moments. So here goes, for the first time in an interview: F—k you Katy Perry. You f—ing stupid, maybe 'not good for the gays,' title-thieving, haven't heard much else, so not quite sure if you're talented, f—ing little slut."

Ten years after "I Kissed a Girl" turned the music world upside down, Perry herself criticized it in an interview with Glamour. While watching a Ramona Rox cover of the triumphant single she once celebrated, Perry admitted, "That was in 2008 when it came out, and I think we've really changed conversationally in the past 10 years. We've come a long way. Bisexuality wasn't as talked about back then, or any type of fluidity."

"If I had to write that song again, I probably would make an edit on it. Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes in it. Your mind changes so much in ten years, and you grow so much. What's true for you can evolve," she added.

Lena Dunham Bursts Into Tears on Camera After Learning 'Famesick' Hit #1 on the NYT Bestseller List

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:10pm

Lena Dunham never quite expected this.

The creator of Girls released her long-awaited memoir Famesickon April 14, and it sold nearly 60,000 copies in its first week alone. Then came a phone call that left her in tears.

Dunham shared a video on social media this week of the moment her team broke the news: Famesick had debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list. In the clip, she puts her head in her hands and starts crying. 'You're joking, guys,' she says. 'No way!'

View this post on Instagram

The memoir covers the decade between 2010 and 2020, tracing Dunham's rise from selling the pilot of Girls at 25 to navigating the physical and emotional wreckage that came with it. She writes about chronic illness, a Klonopin addiction, a relationship between ambition and self-destruction that she couldn't always separate, and the particular cruelty of being a young woman whose flaws were adjudicated by the internet in real time. Her first book, the 2014 essay collection Not That Kind of Girl, reached number two on the Times list. This one went one better.

The book comes at a moment when Dunham has been rebuilding momentum. She created the Netflixseries Too Much in 2025 and has a romantic comedy, Good Sex, in the pipeline. But Famesick is the most personal thing she's released, and by her own account, the hardest to get right.

Reviewers have largely agreed that she found it. The Irish Times called the book a sharp-eyed account of how public shaming shaped, and warped, a generation's relationship to female ambition. Harper's Bazaarpraised its honesty.

What the bestseller milestone reflects, more than anything, is the passage of time. Girls ended in 2017. A lot has happened since to Dunham, and to the culture's understanding of what she was actually doing. The women who watched that show in their 20s are now in their late 30s, and many of them, it turns out, were waiting for this book.

'Screaming, crying, throwing up,' Dunham wrote in the caption of the video. 'Which, to be fair, I do a lot of in this book — but this time it's for a much more joyful reason.'

1971 Cult Classic Ranked Among ‘Greatest Action Movies of All Time’

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:00pm

Countless action movies have been released over the decades, some that take the thrill of fight sequences to new heights, and others tagged as cult classics. A 1971 action-thriller film was a box office success that led to a franchise in the police genre and ranked among the best action movies of all time.

IMDb and Collider ranked a list of action movies from hits like Die Hard to the sci-fi juggernaut Aliens. Ranked among the list is one of Clint Eastwood's iconic roles outside the Western genre, with the Don Siegel-directed film Dirty Harry. The film was a commercial success, having only been made using a $4 million budget, and made make $36 million at the box office. Dirty Harry became Eastwood's signature role and for good reason, but it also had its controversy.

The film follows Eastwood as SFPD Inspector Harry Callahan, as he becomes the lead investigator of a brutal murder by a sadistic sniper called Scorpio. The killer begins to terrorize the city with random killings and ransom demands. As the investigation unfolds, Callahan uses aggressive, often controversial tactics to pursue the killer, putting him at odds with legal authorities and civil rights concerns. The film's ending leads to tense confrontaton.

Dirty Harry is said to have taken inspiration from the real-life cases of the Zodiac Killer, who terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area from 1968 until 1969. The horrendous crimes took place only a year before the film's release. Its script was written by the husband-and-wife team of Harry Julian Fink and Rita M. Fink, with the role of Callahan having originally been intended forJohn Wayne and Frank Sinatra, and later for Robert Mitchum, Steve McQueen, and Burt Lancaster. It's safe to say that Eastwood's ending up in the role is what led to its cult-classic status.

Related: 2017 Hit Film Once Deemed ‘Unfilmable’ Ranked Among the ‘Best Horror Movies of All Time’

While Dirty Harry was well-received by critics, it caused controversy among audiences. Many debated over the film's use of police brutality, victims' rights, and overall tactics of law enforcement. It even led to a protest outside the 44th Academy Awards by a feminist group. It's believed the film even inspired more than a few real-life crimes.

Dirty Harry was ultimately ranked by multiple media outlets as being one of the greatest movies of all time and recognized by the American Film Institute for having one of the greatest movie heroes. Its infamous line of  "You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?" is still legendary. Outlets called it "a stunningly well-made genre piece" and the actor's "best performance."

The movie's success also led to a franchise with four sequel installments and set the style for a whole genre of police films. It even popularized the Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver Eastwood uses in the film. Dirty Harry was preserved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2012.

'90s Rocker Makes Personal Admission 35 Years Into Career

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 12:00pm

Candlebox vocalist Kevin Martin opened up about his personal reflections on life, music and growth.

The 57-year-old frontman rose to fame in the early 1990s after forming the four-member rock band in Seattle, which included original members Peter Klett on lead guitar and backing vocals, Bardi Martin on bass guitar and Scott Mercado on drums and percussion.

Throughout their career, Candlebox released songs that eventually became signature hits, such as "Far Behind," "You" and "Cover Me".

Apart from that, the band also released a multi-platinum debut album and became a cornerstone of the post-grunge era.

Over his decades-long music career, the frontman spoke about the changes he has experienced, including how his creative process and sources of inspiration have evolved over the years.

Kevin Martin discusses his new album, "Candlebox: Disappearing In Airports" during AOL BUILD Presents Series at AOL Studios In New York on May 20, 2016.

During his guest appearance on Chile's Radio Futuro, Martin revealed that the current driving force behind his music and songwriting is his life experiences.

"Well, really, for me it's always been about experiencing and taking those life experiences and turning them into songs,” he said, as transcribed by Blabbermouth. “And, of course, I was 21 years old when I did the debut album. Now I'm 57, so I've learned so much about myself. I've learned a lot about life, and there's so much still to learn. And I think that with the music that I've created over the past 35 years, it's really just been growing.”

He also mentioned legendary bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, whom he thinks “always grew musically” instead of sticking to a single sound or identity.

“You have to push yourself and you have to use those influences and inspirations to create new music and to go in directions that maybe your fans don't really understand,” the frontman added.

In 2023, Candlebox confirmed ending their 30-year run after announcing their retirement through a final tour, The Long Goodbye Tour.

Three years later, Kevin Martin came out of retirement in early 2026, revealing that the band is back for an exciting project. This includes the Can't Quit You Tour, which kicked off in February, and the development of their ninth studio album.

“But at the time, for me, even now when Pete and I are writing for a new record, we are just different human beings, and we have different understandings and different ideas about life,” Kevin Martin revealed to Radio Futuro, hinting at what fans can expect from Candlebox moving forward.

On This Day in 1968, Muhammad Ali is Stripped of His Heavyweight Championship After Refusing U.S. Army Draft

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:52am

You don't necessarily need to have opened a textbook to recognize just how tumultuous the late 1960s were for America.

With the Vietnam War continuing to rage with no clear end in sight, millions of American youths find themselves suddenly drafted into a conflict most citizens wanted no part of.

While most were unable to fight the draft, boxing champ Muhammad Ali used his public presence to publicly refuse to be drafted into the American military, costing him his world title in one of the most controversial moments of modern sports history.

Rising to the forefront of the boxing industry throughout the 1960s, Ali (known under his birth name Cassius Clay until 1964) went on to defeat then champion Sonny Liston in a major upset on February 25, 1964.

Holding the title for the next three years, Ali went on to gain renewed media attention for his opposition to the Vietnam War and the ongoing military draft in general. Ali cited both his religious convictions and moral disdain for the conflict as the primary reasons for his lack of participation in the draft, famously saying, "I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong" by way of explanation.

As a result of his publicized opposition to the war and its related draft, the U.S. government charged him with draft evasion, leading to Ali being stripped of his boxing titles. To prevent going to prison, Ali appealed his decision to the Supreme Court, prompting a lengthy legal battle (Clay v. United States) that helped overturn his conviction by 1971.

While Ali did not fight for another four years, his public stance on the Vietnam War helped make him an icon of the growing counterculture movement sweeping across the United States. On October 20, 1970, he eventually returned to the ring, picking up a victory against Jerry Quarry and eventually regaining the title from George Foreman at the famous 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle."

1983 Smash Hit Helped Launch a New Era of Music Videos—and Changed Everything

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:48am

Michael Jackson didn’t just release a hit with "Billie Jean"—he created a boundary-breaking cultural moment that still shapes music today. With renewed interest in his legacy following the release of the film Michael, fans are rediscovering the iconic video and its lasting influence on how artists connect with audiences through visual storytelling.

The Moment "Billie Jean" Changed Music Videos

Released in 1983, the "Billie Jean" video was initially met with pushback from MTV executives, who claimed the video and song did not fit the channel’s rock-focused format. Jackson pushed for it to air, and it soon became one of the first videos by a Black artist to receive heavy rotation on the network.

Breaking Barriers and Redefining the Industry

The success of "Billie Jean" helped open the door for other artists, including Prince with "Little Red Corvette" and Eddy Grant with "Electric Avenue." More importantly, it helped redefine what a music video could be, shifting it from simple promotion to a powerful form of storytelling still used today.

Turning Music Videos Into Must-See Events

A master showman, Michael Jackson turned the release of his videos into major events. Each new premiere became something fans anticipated, watched together, and talked about long after. The "Billie Jean" video helped set that standard, transforming music videos into shared cultural moments.

Why "Billie Jean" Still Feels Ahead of Its Time

From the glowing sidewalk squares to the minimalist yet cinematic style, the video remains instantly recognizable. Jackson’s performance, perfectly timed to the song’s rhythm, created a visual experience that still feels modern.

The Lasting Impact on Music Today

"Billie Jean" didn’t just raise expectations—it set a blueprint. Today’s artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and Carrie Underwood continue to treat visuals as an essential part of their music.

In today’s visual-first culture, where platforms like YouTube and TikTok dominate, the influence of "Billie Jean" is everywhere. Artists now build entire narratives around their songs, using video to deepen the connection with fans.

A Blueprint That Still Defines Music

It’s hard to imagine modern music without the influence of music videos, social media clips, and viral moments. "Billie Jean" didn’t just break barriers—it changed expectations. Decades later, it remains a powerful reminder that one video can transform not just a song, but the entire way audiences experience music.

"I’m not sure if many of you know this, but during her PhD, she studied a protein called RHAMM, and found out that it could help detect ovarian cancer early," he said, adding that it was "one of the first things that made [him] fall in love with her," and sharing her dissertation on his page.

He also applauded how Buttermore made "people feel less alone" in their food and body image struggles on her YouTube account, which she stopped posting to in 2024 to protect her own mental health.

Nippard also revealed the special way the family honored Buttermore, saying. "We built this backyard garden in her honour (purple was her favourite colour) and it means so, so much to me."

The bodybuilder shared how he's been coping throughout the tragic loss, including reading fans' messages of support, and leaning on Buttermore's mother, with whom she had "an especially loving bond."

"Stephanie’s mom loves hearing stories about the difference her daughter made," he said. "We talk almost every day, and it’s been incredibly difficult, but we’re making it together."

"If you were a fan of Stephanie, then I’m a fan of you," he concluded. "I hope she made your life better in some way. She made my life amazing and I’m so grateful for the time we had."

Nippard announced Buttermore's death on Instagram on March 6, 2026, writing, “It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Jeff’s fiancée and partner of ten years, Stephanie." No cause of death has been shared.

Fans and friends alike sent lots of love and support in the comments of Nippard's new post. "Brother stay strong for her! I’m so sorry for your loss," commented bodybuilder Johny Münster, with coach Tony Mcaleavey adding, "Prayers are with you and her family at this difficult time! Sending love your way."

Nippard and Buttermore's romance began when he slid into her DMs. “Our first date was a shoulder workout and I will never forget it,” Nippard once joked on Instagram. “We got along like best friends right away because we established a foundation of shared interests and values from the beginning.”

The pair got engaged in October 2022, and he shared the happy news on his social media page, writing, “Last month, I asked Steph to marry me and she said yes! It’s been an amazing journey of growth and love. Can’t wait for the next chapter together.”

Aldi Debuts New $2 Greek Chickpeas That Fans Are 'Eating By the Can': 'I'm Going to Eat This All Summer Long'

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:24am

Like its mainstream competitors Trader Joe's or Sam's Club, Aldi continuously finds new ways to appeal to customers across a wide demographic.

Whether you're in the mood for something sweet, salty or somewhere in between, the fan-favorite grocery chain has no shortage of excellent options when it comes to memorable (often conveniently-priced) snacks, treats and other related meals.

To that end, Aldi might very well have released their most exciting item yet with the recently unveiled Greek Chickpeas with Parsley and Cumin.

A favorite item for frequent Trader Joe's shoppers, Aldi's latest product delivers the same great taste shoppers know and love from their competitor's chickpeas, right down to the savory flavor profile consumers absolutely adore.

What's more, the new Aldi find even offers a comparatively lower price tag to its competitor's chickpeas, with Trader Joe's selling the item for around $2.79 per can while Aldi retails its 9.88 oz cans at around $2.29.

The new item was pointedly shared across social media, with multiple Reddit users favorably comparing it to Trader Joe's own chickpeas. Additionally, several accounts also shared helpful advice on potential recipes to incorporate the chickpeas with, allowing shoppers everywhere to build their own ultimate chickpea delicacy.

"If these are the same as Trader Joe's, I'm gonna eat them all summer long," one account wrote. "Toss with chopped cucumber, tomato, feta crumbles, fresh parsley and/or dill and a few splashes of red wine vinegar."

"So if those end up being like the ones at Trader Joe’s, they are an amazing shortcut to a summer bean salad," another user added. "Pour in a bowl with the oil; toss with either canned chicken or tuna (those should be drained) and sliced grape tomatoes and whatever else you want."

"It says 'Greek' but it’s more generically Mediterranean and that should give you more ideas on how to use them," the user continued. "You could also drain and roast them for a snack; drain, but don’t rinse or wash."

Best-Selling Author Calls This Classic Novel the Perfect Companion to Her New Book

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:23am

A classic 1950s novel is back in the spotlight, thanks to a little shout-out from today’s buzziest new author, Caro Claire Burke. Praising the book as “astonishingly good” and calling it her “new favorite,” Burke says that Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates is the perfect companion to her breakout novel, Yesteryear

Released April 7, Yesteryear tells the story of a tradwife influencer who has made a killing fetishizing a pioneer fantasy online, then one day awakes smack-dab in the middle of the 19th-century time period she’s been projecting on social media. Bold and suspenseful satire, Burke’s debut novel is literary fiction the author says culminates with a horrifying conclusion.

In a recent interview with Goodreads, Burke cites influences like Anthony Doerr for his “big, meaty literary novels that also move so quickly and have such propulsion,” as well as Gillian Flynn, who is “the archetype for this kind of novel.” As for her “new favorite,” however, honor goes to Yates.

“An older book that I read recently that I think is such a great pairing with Yesteryear is Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates,” Burke says. “It is astonishingly good. It's, like, a come-to-Jesus about the realities of 1950 suburban life. It’s all in the perspective of the husband, and it’s really well done. I think about it all the time — it's definitely a new favorite for me.”

What makes the pairing work so well lies in the way Yates paints a bleak portrait of the American Dream, centered on a seemingly perfect couple who are actually fraying at the seams. A character study rooted in emotional realism, the novel contrasts the pacing and modern themes in Burke’s novel, with both works exploring unfulfilled characters wilting to the stresses of the everyday.

In 2008, Yates’ novel was adapted for the screen by American Beauty director Sam Mendes. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and was nominated for three Oscars the following year. Yesteryear is getting the same attention, with Anne Hathaway set to star. Perhaps we have the perfect double feature in our future.

Revolutionary Road and Yesteryear are both available at bookshop.org.

"Dreams do come true," one fan commented, with another adding that "their voices together sound heavenly."

"Just imagine being Sabrina Carpenter and getting to work with a legend," another fan wrote on the post.

Carpenter has been riding the momentum from her 2025 album Man's Best Friend, continuing into 2026 with singles like "When Did You Get Hot?" and "House Tour," which showcase her playful pop style and evolving lyrical edge. Her new single with Madonna is sure to elevate her already booming career.

Meanwhile, Madonna kicked off her new era with "I Feel So Free," the lead single from her upcoming album Confessions II. The track leans into her signature dance-floor roots, marking a return to the sound that defined one of her most iconic eras. And the new single with Carpenter is being positioned as one of the official singles from the album.

Grammy-Award Winning Singer, 32, Hits Historic No. 1 Billboard Milestone

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:16am

Bad Bunny has once again rewritten the record books, as his track "DtMF" surges to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, surpassing the long-standing dominance of "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee and marking another historic milestone in an already groundbreaking career.

The Puerto Rican superstar continues to dominate not only Latin music but the global music landscape, proving that his influence transcends language, genre, and geography.

According to Billboard, "DtMF," short for "Debí Tirar Más Fotos," has now logged a 57th week at No. 1, setting a new record for the most weeks ever spent atop the chart. The achievement breaks the previous record of 56 weeks held by "Despacito," a song that defined an era of Latin music's global crossover success and remained unmatched for years.

"DtMF" showcases Bad Bunny's signature blend of reggaeton, trap, and experimental sounds, paired with introspective lyrics that resonate deeply with fans. The song's ascent to the top spot reflects both its streaming power and widespread cultural impact, fueled by millions of plays across platforms and strong engagement on social media.

This latest achievement adds to Bad Bunny's long list of chart-topping hits and further cements his legacy as one of the most influential Latin artists of all time. Over the past few years, he has consistently pushed boundaries, and his ability to evolve while staying authentic has kept him at the forefront of the industry.

The success of "DtMF" also highlights the continued rise of Latin music in the mainstream market. Artists like Bad Bunny have helped shift the industry's center of gravity, bringing Spanish-language music to a broader global audience. What was once considered niche is now undeniably dominant, with Latin tracks regularly competing alongside—and outperforming—English-language hits on major charts.

As he celebrates yet another No. 1, one thing is clear: Bad Bunny isn't slowing down. If anything, he's continuing to raise the bar, redefining what global superstardom looks like in the streaming era.

1983 Hit Comedy is Heading to the Stage as a Broadway-Bound Musical

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:14am

Eddie Murphy is still a vibrant presence in Hollywood all these years later, after hit comedies like Trading Places put him on the map.

The beloved comedian, 65, starred alongside Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis in the 1983 screwball comedy with a hard R rating. It was a box office success that also helped further the career of Murphy's co-stars.

More than 40 years later, Trading Places is still very much a topic on conversation in showbiz, with pre-Broadway plans taking shape to bring the hilarious story to the stage.

You read correctly: The John Landis-directed comedy is being developed as a Broadway-bound stage musical, Deadline reports, with a book by Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) and a score by Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner (First Date). Kenny Leon (Othello, The Balusters) attached to direct.

Two invitation-only workshop presentations are scheduled for May 14 and 15 in New York, with actors Bryce Pinkham as Louis Winthorpe III (the Aykroyd role) and Ephraim Sykes as Billy Ray Valentine (the Murphy role), Deadline also noted on Tuesday, April 28. The musical reportedly had a world premiere in 2022 at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

Here's the official synopsis: Billy Ray Valentine is an out-of-work street hustler with a con for every occasion. Louis Winthorpe III is an out-of-touch commodities broker without a care in the world. But during a single holiday season, they become the pawns in an elaborate bet orchestrated by the Dukes, two scheming old brothers, and their lives are forever upended in a hilarious riches-to-rags and rags-to-riches story.

Production details on the musical have not been released, though an eventual Broadway staging is expected, per Deadline.

In other Curtis news, the Trading Places film star reunited with a childhood friend earlier this month: The Young and the Restless legend Tracey E. Bregman, who plays Lauren. Curtis, 67, took to Instagram to reveal that she and Bregman enjoyed some time together on a plane ride.

1997 Epic Love Story Listed Among 'Greatest Movies of All Time' Won 11 Oscars

Tue, 04/28/2026 - 11:09am

Just shy of 30 years ago, James Cameron's Titanic was released in theaters, and we as movie goers would never be the same. Beloved for the romance between main characters Jack and Rose while also regarded for its leading innovation in the world of filmmaking, Titanic is listed as the second greatest movie of all time according to Rolling Stone, outranked only by The Shawshank Redemption. Forest Gump, Gone with the Wind, and Jaws were also high up on the publication's list of best films.

Cameron's Titanic bounces between the launch and voyage of the RMS Titanic in 1912 and (at the time) more modern 1996, when a fictional research crew is searching the wreckage of the ship for a necklace known as The Heart of the Ocean 84 years after the fact. In 1912, scrappy but poor artist Jack Dawson and rich debutante Rose DeWitt Bukater fall fast and deeply in love with each other while aboard the vessel. In 1996, a now 101-year-old Rose recounts her time with Jack, her story, and what happened on that tragic, fateful, five-day journey on the RMS Titanic.

Considered groundbreaking in the area of filmmaking, Cameron had long had a fascination with shipwrecks and considered the Titanic the "Everest" of all shipwrecks. He pitched the film as "Romeo and Juliet" but aboard the ship. The movie he would ultimately end up going on to make would take over 160 days to film, and cost $200 million dollars (or $1 million dollars per minute of run time) to produce.

Titanic was not only an absolute commercial hit making over $2 billion at the box office but was also met with overwhelming critical acclaim. The film's soundtrack was also the best-selling-album in the US in 1998. The film would go on to receive Golden Globes, Grammys, and a whopping 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. With 14 nominations, Titanic would be one of two films to hold the record for most nominations at the Oscars, a record that would only be surpassed this year by Sinners.

People still absolutely adore Titanic both for the nostalgia of the 1997 epic, but also for the ways it continues to move people today. Both endearingly, hilariously, and every which way in between.
