Keri Russell may be a familiar face on television, but the actress says there's one very Hollywood perk that doesn't always come her way.

In a new joint interview with Variety alongside partner and former costar Matthew Rhys, the 50-year-old Diplomat star opened up about a surprisingly relatable reality of her career: sometimes, she has to buy her own red carpet looks. "I sometimes can't get a dress, because I am not, you know, someone famous," Russell said, according to PEOPLE. 

Rather than feeling frustrated by the gap between her career and true tabloid-level fame, Russell said she and Rhys have come to embrace the quieter version of celebrity they've built together. "I love the level of our life," she said. "I love having a job. I like occasionally getting into a restaurant when I can't." She pointed out that their relative anonymity actually works in their favor. "People don't really care about us - in a great way," she said, noting that some of their neighbors are much more famous.

Of course, Russell is hardly a Hollywood newcomer. She's been working in the entertainment industry since she was a child and has starred in projects including Felicity, Waitress, The Americans and The Diplomat. She has also received multiple Emmy nominations.

Russell isn't the first star to speak candidly about the challenges of getting designer clothing for major events. Christina Hendricks previously revealed she struggled to find a willing designer in 2012 due to sample-size limitations, while Melissa McCarthy has spoken about being turned down by multiple high-end designers before eventually designing her own Emmys look in 2011.

For Russell, though, the takeaway isn't frustration, it's perspective. Fame, she suggests, doesn't have to mean losing the normal, low-key life she's built for herself. And when it comes to getting dressed for the red carpet, Russell doesn't have to wait for a fashion house to come calling.

Travis Barker is clearing the air about the near-fatal plane crash he was involved in back in 2008.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Barker spoke about the immediate emotional struggles he experienced following the crash that left four people dead.

At the time, Barker and his friend and fellow artist Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein were the only survivors of the incident, suffering various injuries from the crash. Sadly, Goldstein later passed away in 2009 at the age of 36.

As Barker put it, the Blink-182 drummer felt like he was living in the film Final Destination, which revolves around characters outrunning a grim fate that ends with their grisly deaths.

As he grappled with the fallout from the crash, Barker said he began to rarely make public appearances, preferring instead to "hide out" to avoid any further accident.

“I would go from my tour bus to the hotel, and no one would see me,” he told People. “I would just hide out. I was so afraid. I was just waiting for impact in the bus. I was just like, ‘Oh, I’m next. I’m going to go anytime.’"

Among other mental health struggles, Barker said he also experienced a sense of survivor's guilt owing to the crash, most especially when it came to the eventual death of Goldstein.

“You’re never ready for that. You’re never ready for one of your best friends to pass away, especially someone who just survived a plane crash with me,” Barker said.

Fortunately, the Grammy-nominated musician mentioned that “the further I got away from almost dying, things got a little bit easier.”

In addition to time being a helpful healer, Barker also said that he regularly tries to think of how his late friends would want him to live on, allowing him to enjoy life following the crash.

“Those things help me push forward,” he ended by saying.

In 1955, rock and roll was just starting to be defined. But it truly didn't fully take shape until a select few artists came along, including none other than the eccentric and dazzling Little Richard. Born Richard Penniman in Macon, Georgia, the entertainer was the third son of 12 to a deacon who secretly ran a nightclub and sold bootlegged moonshine, according to American Songwriter.

Rolling Stone reports that at 13, Richard was thrown out of the house for suspicion of being gay. He began singing, particularly falling in love with gospel, and was discovered in 1947 by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, who invited him to join her show. Richard would go on in 1949 to perform in drag as Princess LaVonne, but eventually joined up with Buster Brown’s Orchestra, where he earned the moniker Little Richard.

The Origins of "Tutti Frutti"

By 22, Little Richard was working in a kitchen while trying to make it big. It was frustration that pushed him to write the breakout barn burner "Tutti Frutti".

“I was washing dishes at the Greyhound bus station,” Little Richard told Rolling Stone. “I couldn’t talk back to my boss man. He would bring all these pots back for me to wash, and one day I said, ‘I’ve got to do something to stop this man bringing back all these pots for me to wash,’ and I said, ‘A-wop bop-a-loo-bop, a-lop bam boom, take ‘em out!’ And that’s what I meant at the time. And so I wrote ‘Tutti Frutti’ in the kitchen.”

While Richard has expressed an undying love for the song that got him out of that sweaty kitchen, its impact has had a profound ripple effect on the industry. Without Little Richard, there may not have been a David Bowie.

American Songwriter reports that in the book David Bowie: Starman, Bowie stated: “Then, I hit gold: ‘Tutti Frutti’ by Little Richard – my heart nearly burst with excitement. I’d never heard anything even resembling this. It filled the room with energy and color and outrageous defiance. I had heard God.”

Little Richard was also very aware that he was trying to be boxed out of the rock scene due to his race. Artists like Pat Boone and Elvis Presley would often cover songs from Black artists and perform higher on the Billboard charts than the original singers.

“They didn’t want me to be in the white guys’ way," Little Richard once told the Washington Postin 1984. "I felt I was pushed into a rhythm and blues corner to keep out of rockers’ way because that’s where the money is. When “Tutti Frutti” came out… they needed a rock star to block me out of white homes because I was a hero to white kids. The white kids would have Pat Boone upon the dresser and me in the drawer ’cause they liked my version better, but the families didn’t want me because of the image that I was projecting.”

Still, they couldn't keep his talent down. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame and took home a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy in 1993. His talent ushered in a new era of music, and all the classic rock we love today owes him (and "Tutti Frutti") a huge debt.

Ever since it hit the masses in the mid-1980s, Tetris has maintained a following.

It helped that a critically acclaimed movie named after the video game dropped on Apple TV in 2023, thereby upping its pop-culture image.

Cut to three years later, and an epic "crossover" was just teased on social media that has Tetris-heads buzzing, along with the devoted following of an entirely different franchise.

A Brief Tetris History Lesson

As one of the most iconic puzzle franchises of all time, Tetris joins a stacked list of gaming icons headlining Fortnite's "Gaming Legends" themed season, alongside confirmed crossovers with Sonic the Hedgehog and more.

Looking back on the nostalgic game's history, Tetris was actually born in Moscow in the year 1984, according to the game's official website. Russian scientist Alexey Pajitnov developed the very first version of Tetris on an Electronika 60.

Three years later, the game launched on PCs in North America and Europe — the first step in its global expansion beyond the Soviet Union — and the rest is history.

Fortnite Has Welcomed Other Classics to Its World

Earlier this year, Fortnite added Dungeons & Dragons content through custom creator islands. Wizards of the Coast partnered with Chartis and Teravision Games to bring five D&D‑inspired islands to the game. The islands offered immersive experiences that drew on the lore of D&D‘s the Forgotten Realms.

The collaboration emphasizes fan creativity and the homebrew spirit of D&D. Nick Strann, franchise strategy director for D&D, described the initiative as a way to bring tabletop storytelling into Fortnite while allowing creators to design their own experiences. Find out more here.

“Sixteen Candles” was a doo-wop song released by The Crests in 1958. The hit, which sold over a million copies, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached No. 4 on the US R&B chart. The song was covered by many different artists over the years, from The Jackson 5 to Jerry Lee Lewis to Sha Na Na. The song was also featured in the John Hughes film of the same name, Sixteen Candles, starring Molly Ringwald.

The Crests were formed when the band members were only students in junior high school. They went on to be discovered while singing on the New York City subway. When “Sixteen Candles” was released, the lead singer, Johnny Maestro, was still a teenager.

Although the band reformed throughout the years, the original lineup parted ways in the early ‘60s after Maestro went solo. When speaking about the original lineup, J.T. Carter told Pocono Record, "Talmoudge Gough could really sing, and he's the one who pushed me to get us organized. Harold Torres had a harder time learning harmony, but he was very good-looking. Patricia Vandross (sister of late music legend Luther Vandross) recorded with us, but her mother wouldn't let her travel with a group of young men. ... She was the wild one, though. Johnny Maestro convinced me he couldn't sing backup, and he had to come into the group as the lead singer."

Carter continued, "The first time we were paid, we each made $17, and we used it to buy matching plaid blazers. Suddenly, we looked sharp. We looked like professionals."

The Crests had several more hits throughout the years, including “Trouble in Paradise,” “Six Nights a Week,” “The Angels Listened In,” and “A Year Ago Tonight.” The band was inducted into both the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the Doo Wop Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, the band is no longer performing today. Carter, who was the last original member of the band, died in 2025. He was 83.

Nicole Kidman is opening up about her divorces from Tom Cruise and Keith Urban.

The Oscar-winning actress, 59, known for films ranging from The Others and The Hours to Being the Ricardos and Moulin Rouge!, just gave a very candid interview to British Vogue in which she opened up about the high-profile splits she's faced over the years. In one portion of the interview, Kidman opens up about her marriage to legendary movie star Tom Cruise. While the couple adopted two children, they ended up divorcing in 2001.

Noting that she and Cruise were "madly in love," Kidman shared that her split from the megastar is a bit "blurry" these days since she was so young when they wed.

“You have to remember literally, because of who I married at such a young age, I was thrust into it since I was 22. [My life has been] more time like that than not. My memory of it not being that is quite blurry, because I was really young," she recalled. “Suddenly I was 22, 23 years old and I had this huge movie star husband. But it just seemed completely natural. We just fell madly in love and it was that simple.” 

However, that didn't mean people didn't warn her about marrying Cruise.

“I remember people saying to me, ‘OK, well this is really going to affect your career,’ ” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘I don’t care. I’m in love. I want to be married.’ And then I was his ‘wife’ and they were like, ‘See, we told you.’ I’m like, ‘So what? I wasn’t meant to marry the man I love? Of course I’ll throw my career away. I don’t care.’ ”

(Tom Bosley, Marion Ross) as his godparents.

The "Fonzie's Baptism" episode transcript reveals that during the religious ceremony, Fonzie makes a speech in which he shares that he learned a lot about the Ten Commandments from the Charlton Heston movie of the same name, as seen “in VistaVision.” The Fonz then gets a little “misty” as he talks about loving “thy neighbors” before Father Anthony instructs the congregation to rise and sing hymn No. 64.

The organ then begins to play “Faith of Our Fathers,” with Richie, Potsie, Ralph, and Joanie (Ron Howard, Anson Williams, Don Most, and Erin Moran) featured singing the church hymn.

“Faith of Our Fathers” was written by Frederic William Faber in 1849, according to Hymnary. It has been published in Roman Catholic hymn collections over the years, including Jesus and Mary and Catholic Hymns for Singing and Reading.

The song was also recorded by Bing Crosby for the 1947 Decca albumMerry Christmas—Bing Crosby.

Winkler has spoken about the religious moments on Happy Days, once noting that years before Fonzie was baptized, he fought to make the character's relationship with God feel authentic.

Not only did Fonzie once make a “deal” with God when Richie was comatose following a serious motorcycle accident, but early on the character said grace at the dinner table—and he did it his way.

"In the first year [or] the second year, there's a scene at the dinner table, and they asked me to say grace," Winkler said on the Media Path podcast. "And the show was being run by a man named Bill, who was very religious. I understood from the Fonz's point of view of talking to God. And so I said I grace, I went 'Hey, God? Whoa,'" said Winkler.

"In that 'whoa,' I said 'thank you' and 'I'm grateful' and I argued—I had to literally stop the filming for a minute and argue my case—because he wanted me to say a paragraph," the Happy Days star shared. “And I thought it all went into 'Hey, God? Whoa.'"

Nearly four decades after its release, one of Journey's most popular albums is still finding a place on the Billboard charts.

Journey's Greatest Hits, released in 1988, has now spent more than 900 weeks on the Billboard 200, making it one of only a handful of albums in the chart's history to reach that extraordinary milestone.

And the album isn't simply hanging around the chart as a technicality. In July, it climbed to No. 44 on the Billboard 200, up from No. 60 the previous week, while also reaching No. 10 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart.

That's an impressive feat for an album that first arrived in stores nearly 40 years ago.

Journey's 'Greatest Hits' Has Been on the Chart for Nearly 18 Years

Journey's Greatest Hits reached the 900-week milestone in March 2026, according to Forbes' chart analysis, becoming just the third album in U.S. history to spend 900 weeks on the Billboard 200. At the time, it was No. 81 on the chart.

Since then, the compilation has continued adding weeks.

As of July, it had reached 917 weeks on the Billboard 200.

To put that into perspective, 917 weeks is more than 17½ years of chart appearances.

And Journey's accomplishment puts the band in some very exclusive company.

Only Two Albums Had Done It Before Journey

Before Journey's Greatest Hits reached 900 weeks, only two albums had managed the feat.

Pink Floyd'sThe Dark Side of the Moon remains the all-time Billboard 200 longevity leader and is approaching the 1,000-week mark. Bob Marley and the Wailers'Legend is also well past 900 weeks.

Journey's compilation became the third member of that elite group in March.

In fact, when Journey's Greatest Hits reached 900 weeks, Billboard's own reporting had The Dark Side of the Moon at 996 weeks and Journey's album at 890 weeks earlier in January, showing just how quickly the compilation was approaching the milestone.

By August, Marley's Legend had reached 950 weeks, while Journey remained the only other album besides Legend and The Dark Side of the Moon to have surpassed 900 weeks.

There's One Song Doing a Lot of the Heavy Lifting

So, why does an album released in 1988 continue to chart nearly four decades later?

One obvious answer is "Don't Stop Believin'."

Journey's signature song has become one of the most enduring rock songs of all time, continuing to rack up streams and chart appearances decades after its original release.

When Journey's Greatest Hits reached 850 weeks on the Billboard 200 in 2025, “Don't Stop Believin'” was still sitting near the top of Billboard's Rock Streaming Songs and Rock Digital Song Sales charts.

And that connection has only become more apparent this year.

In July, “Don't Stop Believin'” returned to the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 35, more than 40 years after its original chart run. The song also reached new peaks on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and debuted on the Streaming Songs chart.

That renewed interest helped Journey's Greatest Hits make its own gains, including its debut on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart.

The compilation contains plenty of other Journey favorites, including "Faithfully," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," "Open Arms," "Any Way You Want It" and "Wheel in the Sky."

But nearly four decades after the album's release, it's clear that listeners still can't stop believing.

And at more than 900 weeks on the Billboard 200, Journey's Greatest Hits has earned a place in chart history that very few albums will ever match.

The Doobie Brothers' many hit songs all have different origin stories. Some were written in one session or a few days, while others took years to come together. The latter was the case with the song "Long Train Runnin'," released on the band's third studio album, The Captain and Me.

The song started as an instrumental born during a jam session with the band. The Doobie Brothers would perform "Long Train Runnin'" under other names like “Osborn,” “Parliament,” and “Rosie Pig Moseley,” with vocalist and guitarist Tom Johnston making up random lyrics during the performance.

Johnston didn't have a lot of confidence in the song's potential, saying in an interview that he thought it was "just a throwaway song." He added, "I didn't think it was any big deal. I didn't think it had any great merit as far as the chords and everything went, because it seemed too simplistic to me."

The band only recorded a final version of the song thanks to producer Teddy Templeman encouraging Johnston to do so. With little hope that it would do well, Johnston finally wrote official lyrics and recorded the track.

The Doobie Brothers ended up releasing "Long Train Runnin'" as the lead single on The Captain and Me.

Johnston was quickly proven wrong about "Long Train Runnin'." It became a hit song, peaking at No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 music chart. It also broke into the Top 20 in Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and the Netherlands, making it an international hit as well.

The Doobie Brothers remixed "Long Train Runnin'" and re-released it in 1993, and the second time around, it was a hit again. It did very well in the U.K., as well as Belgium, Germany, Finland, and more.

The song's legacy has only gotten bigger, with other bands creating their own versions of the track over the years. The Italian band Traks released a cover in 1982, while Bananarama, a British girl group, also covered the song in 1991.

“Lovesong” was released by The Cure in 1989. Despite the band’s iconic status, this song became the band’s only top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It peaked at No. 2.

“Lovesong” was written by the lead singer, Robert Smith, as a wedding present for his fiancée, Mary Poole, right before they tied the knot. The pair met in school when they were only 14, and they are still together to this day. She appeared in their “Just Like Heaven” music video and inspired the lyrics to “Lovesong.”

Unfortunately, Smith wasn’t thrilled with the music video that went along with the hit. "I was disappointed with the video," he told Select Magazine. "The idea was of a fairy cave going on forever, but it looked very cramped and posed. The opening shot is terrible, this lingering shot of a huge phallus that makes no pretensions to be a stalagmite at all."

When speaking about his wife with Yahoo! Entertainment, he said, “Mary means so incomprehensibly much to me. I actually don’t think she has ever realized how dependent I’ve been of her during all these years we’ve been together."

The song she inspired has appeared in many different TV shows over the years, from The Sopranos to The Vampire Diaries. It was also covered by several artists, including Adele, and appeared on the soundtrack for 50 First Dates.

When Adele spoke about why she chose to record the cover with The Sun, she said, "My first gig was the Cure in Finsbury Park, which my mum took me to as she's their biggest fan." She added, "My voice had gone, which I was a bit kind of paranoid about, but it actually suits the song really, really well.”

Even though this was the only top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit for The Cure, they have several well-known songs, including “Friday I’m in Love,” “Just Like Heaven,” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”  

The Cure is still together to this day. They are still performing and touring.

Jessica Lange told PaleyFest in March 2015 that she was done with American Horror Story (AHS). "To cut to the chase, yes, I'm done," she said. Ryan Murphy spent more than a decade trying to change her mind. He finally got her to dinner. He pitched her on Season 13. She had one condition. "I'm in as long as I have a musical number." Season 13 premieres September 24, 2026, on FX and Hulu. It's a greatest-hits season bringing back all four of Lange's iconic characters. It exists because of one dinner and one song.

The moment everything changed happened over dinner. Lange was telling Murphy how everywhere she goes, young people stop her for autographs because they love AHS. "Nobody comes up and wants to talk to me about Blue Sky or Tootsie," she told him. "They just want to talk about American Horror Story."

Murphy listened. "That was the first time I had heard her talk about it in a very nostalgic, sentimental way," he said. He told her that was exactly why he'd wanted to meet. He pitched her. She said yes. One condition. One song. Murphy also directed the season himself — his first time behind the AHS camera since Freak Show. His method with Lange involves him acting out all her parts himself to give her "a sense of the movement and the rhythm." She finds it absolutely hilarious. He does it anyway. Murphy went straight from that dinner to Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Both said yes instantly.

She'd earned the right to set conditions. She left on her own terms in 2015. "We've had a great run," she said at PaleyFest. "I have absolutely loved doing these four characters, and in all the madness I loved the writers, actors, Ryan, the whole insanity of it." Then she cut to the chase. Done. She left having won two Emmys — Outstanding Supporting Actress for Murder House in 2012 and Outstanding Lead Actress for Coven in 2014 — plus a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for Murder House. She'd won everything the show could give her.

The musical condition wasn't a negotiating tactic. It was the only logical answer. Her performance of "The Name Game" in Asylum is one of the most celebrated musical moments in television history. Her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars" in Freak Show became a cultural moment that outlasted the season. She knows what she does best. She made sure Season 13 gets it.

The Greatest Hits Season That Almost Didn't Happen

Murphy's calling Season 13 "the Avengers of American Horror Story," and that's not an exaggeration. Lange reprises all four of her characters — Constance Langdon, Sister Jude, Fiona Goode, and Elsa Mars. Evan Peters plays five, including a scene where he plays Tate and Kai, at the same time, having a conversation with himself. Murphy says it only took two takes. Sarah Paulson steps into six. Every actor watched back every season. They had vocal coaches, movement coaches, and Murphy still had the original wigs and costumes in storage. "I just was right back in it," he said of writing Constance again. Jessica said the same thing.

The season brings in new faces too. Love Story's Paul Anthony Kelly plays a new character Murphy describes as "the linchpin of the season." Joey Pollari plays another key story driver. John Waters joined in February 2026. Alex Consani and Avantika Vandanapu also join. Frances Conroycame out of acting retirement to reprise Myrtle Snow from Coven. Ariana Grande was originally cast and dropped out in July 2026 due to conflicts with her Eternal Sunshine Tour.

As for the ultimate evil, Murphy's only clue is this: "In many seasons, the characters have battled the Antichrist. Let's go above his pay grade for this." Murphy's favorite AHS season is Roanoke. When he tells Jessica or Sarah or Evan that their response is some version of: "You've got to be kidding me." He is not kidding. Thirteen episodes. September 24 on FX and Hulu.

Murphy's favorite word is yes. Jessica Lange's condition was a song.

Morgan Wallen fans should expect the unexpected when they attend his shows. Days before Wallen suffered a nasty fall at a Michigan concert, a man at the singer’s Baltimore show allegedly urinated on other concertgoers.

Concertgoer Jayson Reed is facing assault charges after a fight broke out at the July 18 show. Maryland Transportation Authority Police responded after concert attendees reported that a man had urinated on them while they were sitting in their seats watching Wallen perform.

The man was identified and removed from the stadium, and after an investigation, Reed was arrested and charged with four counts of second-degree assault, public urination and other related offenses, CBS News reports.

One witness, Troy Grevelding, described the disturbing encounter to CBS News Baltimore, saying he and his wife felt something dripping on their legs shortly after Wallen took the stage.

"I just look, and at that point his pants are completely down. He's urinating all over myself … all over my wife," Grevelding said, adding that his two nieces, one of whom is 8 years old, were also in the line of fire.

Grevelding recalled that he was "freaking out" while the man kept telling him, "It's OK, man. It's OK, brother." He said he tried to push the man away from his family and repeatedly told him to stop. He also posted videos of the episode on Facebook, which went viral.

While Grevelding is aware that Reed was arrested, he said he was disappointed that Reed wasn't taken into custody at the concert last month.

The urination incident occurred only days before Wallen suffered an ankle injury of his own during his July 24 concert at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. As he was leaving the venue and stopping to high-five fans in the tunnel, Wallen jumped up to greet one concertgoer before landing awkwardly and rolling his left ankle. Video of the moment shows him quickly getting back up before security helped him through the tunnel, where he sat down and grabbed his leg.

Wallen later showed off the injured ankle on social media and acknowledged that he would be feeling the effects during the second night of his Michigan run. "Michigan, if I appear somewhat hobbled tonight, it's cause I am," he wrote. Despite the injury, Wallen returned to the stage the following night and completed his performance.
