Like its mainstream competitors Trader Joe's or Sam's Club, Aldi continuously finds new ways to appeal to customers across a wide demographic.

Whether you're in the mood for something sweet, salty or somewhere in between, the fan-favorite grocery chain has no shortage of excellent options when it comes to memorable (often conveniently-priced) snacks, treats and other related meals.

To that end, Aldi might very well have released their most exciting item yet with the recently unveiled Greek Chickpeas with Parsley and Cumin.

A favorite item for frequent Trader Joe's shoppers, Aldi's latest product delivers the same great taste shoppers know and love from their competitor's chickpeas, right down to the savory flavor profile consumers absolutely adore.

What's more, the new Aldi find even offers a comparatively lower price tag to its competitor's chickpeas, with Trader Joe's selling the item for around $2.79 per can while Aldi retails its 9.88 oz cans at around $2.29.

The new item was pointedly shared across social media, with multiple Reddit users favorably comparing it to Trader Joe's own chickpeas. Additionally, several accounts also shared helpful advice on potential recipes to incorporate the chickpeas with, allowing shoppers everywhere to build their own ultimate chickpea delicacy.

"If these are the same as Trader Joe's, I'm gonna eat them all summer long," one account wrote. "Toss with chopped cucumber, tomato, feta crumbles, fresh parsley and/or dill and a few splashes of red wine vinegar."

"So if those end up being like the ones at Trader Joe’s, they are an amazing shortcut to a summer bean salad," another user added. "Pour in a bowl with the oil; toss with either canned chicken or tuna (those should be drained) and sliced grape tomatoes and whatever else you want."

"It says 'Greek' but it’s more generically Mediterranean and that should give you more ideas on how to use them," the user continued. "You could also drain and roast them for a snack; drain, but don’t rinse or wash."

A classic 1950s novel is back in the spotlight, thanks to a little shout-out from today’s buzziest new author, Caro Claire Burke. Praising the book as “astonishingly good” and calling it her “new favorite,” Burke says that Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates is the perfect companion to her breakout novel, Yesteryear. 

Released April 7, Yesteryear tells the story of a tradwife influencer who has made a killing fetishizing a pioneer fantasy online, then one day awakes smack-dab in the middle of the 19th-century time period she’s been projecting on social media. Bold and suspenseful satire, Burke’s debut novel is literary fiction the author says culminates with a horrifying conclusion.

In a recent interview with Goodreads, Burke cites influences like Anthony Doerr for his “big, meaty literary novels that also move so quickly and have such propulsion,” as well as Gillian Flynn, who is “the archetype for this kind of novel.” As for her “new favorite,” however, honor goes to Yates.

“An older book that I read recently that I think is such a great pairing with Yesteryear is Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates,” Burke says. “It is astonishingly good. It's, like, a come-to-Jesus about the realities of 1950 suburban life. It’s all in the perspective of the husband, and it’s really well done. I think about it all the time — it's definitely a new favorite for me.” 

What makes the pairing work so well lies in the way Yates paints a bleak portrait of the American Dream, centered on a seemingly perfect couple who are actually fraying at the seams. A character study rooted in emotional realism, the novel contrasts the pacing and modern themes in Burke’s novel, with both works exploring unfulfilled characters wilting to the stresses of the everyday.

In 2008, Yates’ novel was adapted for the screen by American Beauty director Sam Mendes. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and was nominated for three Oscars the following year. Yesteryear is getting the same attention, with Anne Hathaway set to star. Perhaps we have the perfect double feature in our future.

"We've got something to say about it," they wrote, announcing "Bring Your Love," dropping April 30 at 3:00 p.m. PST.

What makes this pairing especially compelling is the contrast—and connection—between the two artists. Madonna, known for constantly reinventing herself and pushing boundaries, represents decades of cultural influence and fearless artistry. Carpenter, one of pop's fastest-rising and most versatile voices, embodies the next generation of the genre. And fans are here for it, calling the single by the two "pop starlets maximizing their joint slay" the "song of Madonna summer."

Meanwhile, Madonna kicked off her new era with "I Feel So Free," the lead single from her upcoming album Confessions II. Joseph Duggar has entered a not guilty plea in his child endangerment case.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Joseph, 31, entered the plea on Monday, Apr. 27 in his case against the State of Arkansas.

Joseph's wife, Kendra Duggar, 27, also entered a not guilty plea for her child endangerment case on Thursday, Apr. 23. Later that day, a judge dissolved the no contact order between Kendra and her alleged victims.

Per the court documents, the unnamed victims “have expressed a desire to have contact” with Kendra as she “complied” with the order’s terms..

“It is further ordered that the Arkansas Department of Human Services is authorized to supervise, communicate and facilitate reunification between the Defendant and the individuals previously covered in the no contact order,” the judge’s ruling read.

Joseph was previously arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, on Mar. 18.

Two days later, Joseph and Kendra were hit with additional child endangerment charges—unrelated to Joseph’s initial case.

Kendra was released from jail shortly following her arrest after posting a $1,470 bond. Joseph, for his part, was released from custody in Florida after posting a $600,000 bond on Mar. 31. Joseph pled not guilty in that case as well.

The couple have been married since 2017 and share four young children.

The Puerto Rican superstar continues to dominate not only Latin music but the global music landscape, proving that his influence transcends language, genre, and geography.

According to Billboard, "DtMF," short for "Debí Tirar Más Fotos," has now logged a 57th week at No. 1, setting a new record for the most weeks ever spent atop the chart. The achievement breaks the previous record of 56 weeks held by "Despacito," a song that defined an era of Latin music's global crossover success and remained unmatched for years.

"DtMF" showcases Bad Bunny's signature blend of reggaeton, trap, and experimental sounds, paired with introspective lyrics that resonate deeply with fans. The song's ascent to the top spot reflects both its streaming power and widespread cultural impact, fueled by millions of plays across platforms and strong engagement on social media.

Eddie Murphy is still a vibrant presence in Hollywood all these years later, after hit comedies like Trading Places put him on the map.

The beloved comedian, 65, starred alongside Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis in the 1983 screwball comedy with a hard R rating. It was a box office success that also helped further the career of Murphy's co-stars.

More than 40 years later, Trading Places is still very much a topic on conversation in showbiz, with pre-Broadway plans taking shape to bring the hilarious story to the stage.

You read correctly: The John Landis-directed comedy is being developed as a Broadway-bound stage musical, Deadline reports, with a book by Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) and a score by Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner (First Date). Kenny Leon (Othello, The Balusters) attached to direct.

Two invitation-only workshop presentations are scheduled for May 14 and 15 in New York, with actors Bryce Pinkham as Louis Winthorpe III (the Aykroyd role) and Ephraim Sykes as Billy Ray Valentine (the Murphy role), Deadline also noted on Tuesday, April 28. The musical reportedly had a world premiere in 2022 at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

Here's the official synopsis: Billy Ray Valentine is an out-of-work street hustler with a con for every occasion. Louis Winthorpe III is an out-of-touch commodities broker without a care in the world. But during a single holiday season, they become the pawns in an elaborate bet orchestrated by the Dukes, two scheming old brothers, and their lives are forever upended in a hilarious riches-to-rags and rags-to-riches story.

Production details on the musical have not been released, though an eventual Broadway staging is expected, per Deadline.

In other Curtis news, the Trading Places film star reunited with a childhood friend earlier this month: The Young and the Restless legend Tracey E. Bregman, who plays Lauren. Curtis, 67, took to Instagram to reveal that she and Bregman enjoyed some time together on a plane ride.

Just shy of 30 years ago, James Cameron's Titanic was released in theaters, and we as movie goers would never be the same. Beloved for the romance between main characters Jack and Rose while also regarded for its leading innovation in the world of filmmaking, Titanic is listed as the second greatest movie of all time according to Rolling Stone, outranked only by The Shawshank Redemption. Forest Gump, Gone with the Wind, and Jaws were also high up on the publication's list of best films.

Cameron's Titanic bounces between the launch and voyage of the RMS Titanic in 1912 and (at the time) more modern 1996, when a fictional research crew is searching the wreckage of the ship for a necklace known as The Heart of the Ocean 84 years after the fact. In 1912, scrappy but poor artist Jack Dawson and rich debutante Rose DeWitt Bukater fall fast and deeply in love with each other while aboard the vessel. In 1996, a now 101-year-old Rose recounts her time with Jack, her story, and what happened on that tragic, fateful, five-day journey on the RMS Titanic.

Considered groundbreaking in the area of filmmaking, Cameron had long had a fascination with shipwrecks and considered the Titanic the "Everest" of all shipwrecks. He pitched the film as "Romeo and Juliet" but aboard the ship. The movie he would ultimately end up going on to make would take over 160 days to film, and cost $200 million dollars (or $1 million dollars per minute of run time) to produce.

Titanic was not only an absolute commercial hit making over $2 billion at the box office but was also met with overwhelming critical acclaim. The film's soundtrack was also the best-selling-album in the US in 1998. The film would go on to receive Golden Globes, Grammys, and a whopping 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. With 14 nominations, Titanic would be one of two films to hold the record for most nominations at the Oscars, a record that would only be surpassed this year by Sinners.

In the world of dance, they say whatever troupe you're a part of becomes your family. For Mark Ballas, that's literal.

Of course, we know him as one of the most talented pros to grace the stage of Dancing with the Stars. So far, he's competed in 21 seasons, having made ten finales and taken home three Mirror Ball Trophies. But it's entirely understandable, given his pedigree. Mark is the son of Shirley and Corky Ballas, two legends in the ballroom community as both performers and teachers.

Shirley was a rising star in the world of British Ballroom in the '80s and '90s, colloquially known as the "Queen of Latin." But she truly hit her stride when she and Corky were partnered up, quickly finding they follow the same cadence. After marrying in 1985, the two went on a tear across the ballroom scene, taking home commendations that include the 1996 Open to the World International Champions, 1995–1996 Open to the World British Champions, two-time British National Champions, and seven-time undefeated United States International Latin Champions.

As the latter title indicates, the pair decided to cross the pond for what would end up being the last portion of Shirley's dancing career. But the couple did not stray far at all from the world of foxtrots and sambas, as they soon lent their extensive expertise into becoming instructors. Over the years, they've taught such DWTS luminaries as Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Karina Smirnoff, Tony Dovolani, Edyta Sliwinska — and, of course, their son, Mark.

Mark joined the then-fledgling ABC reality series for Season 5 in 2007, and quickly followed in his own parents' successful footsteps by winning his second season alongside Kristi Yamaguchi. But, a decade later, Shirley received her own DWTS offer — in a manner of sorts. Strictly Come Dancing, the British version of the series, was looking for a new head judge with the departure of Len Goodman. And the only person proper to sit on that throne was the Queen of Latin herself.

"I was like, 'Yeah, it's a no-brainer,'" Mark tells Parade in an exclusive interview when he heard his mother had received the offer. "She called me. She's like, 'I don't know if this is for me.' Because she loves to teach. She loves her craft. That's one thing I'll say about my mom. No one is more clued in on the fundamentals and mechanics and the craft of Latin American ballroom dancing. She is just the best. And at 65, she'll probably outdance all of us until she can't move."

"So I remember when this came up for her, she's like, 'I don't know if I want to go into it,'" he recalls. "I was like, 'Mom, you are meant for this. It's you. You're the girl.'"

Of course, Mark, who is currently bringing the house down eight shows a week in Chicago on Broadway alongside former partner Whitney Leavitt, had no professional judging experience when Shirley was in the mix for Strictly Come Dancing. But, having been on the receiving end of comments from the panel for a decade, including from Len himself, he had one simply advice for her: Be yourself.

"The cool thing about my mom [is she] comes from a small area outside of Liverpool called the Wirral. She's come from some hard knocks. She had to defy a lot of odds to get to where she is in her field. And I love that about her. I was like, 'Just be you. Just go for it. Talk about the thing you love, which is dancing.'"

Indeed, as Mark prognosticated, Shirley's spot on Strictly was a no-brainer. She got the gig in 2017, and has served as the lead member of the panel ever since. But, excitingly, American fans will get a dose of her in the recently announced spinoff Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, coming to ABC on July 13.

Hosted by recent champ Robert Irwin, the competition will have twelve professional dancers competing for a spot on Season 35 this fall. But Shirley won't be alone in doing so, as she'll be judging alongside a familiar face: Mark himself! While Mark's involvement in The Next Pro had not been announced at the time he did our interview, he was able to unintentionally give a tease as to what we can expect from the feedback she'll be giving these pros all summer long.

"It's tough love," he admits. "Don't get me wrong, she's very direct. And that's because of her upbringing, the area she's from. But that's what makes it work. If you want to succeed, sometimes we need that tough love."

Surprisingly, this new series does not mark the first time that Mark is sharing the screen alongside one of his parents. In Season 7, his third year on the show, he received a call telling him that Corky would also be a pro on that season. His first reaction was, fittingly, "What?!"

And so DWTS fans were treated to an incredibly rare sight on the show, as father and son squared off to see who would get the Mirror Ball. Mark was partnered with Kim Kardashian, as the reality star was just beginning her pop culture takeover following the premiere season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Corky, on the other hand, danced alongside Oscar-winning Cloris Leachman, who was 82 at the time. And, while Corky would only do one more season after this, partnered up with Brady Bunch star Florence Henderson, Mark knew from the beginning DWTS was a natural fit.

"My dad is an entertainer," he says. "He is amazing. He's a flamenco guitar player. That's what got me into guitar and flamenco dancing. Just a performer. My dad just has the 'rizz,' as the kids say. So that was just such a cool moment to be up there with my dad."

It should be noted as well that, in the first and only Battle of the Ballas Boys, age came out victorious. Mark and Kardashian were eliminated third, while Corky and Leachman made it to seventh place. But, as competitive as the two men are, there didn't seem to be any bad blood in the process.

"I was like, 'This is the best!'" Mark reveals. "We FaceTime pretty much every day. We're buds. So that was a great moment."

We should look forward to some more great moments from Mark and another of his parents, as he and Shirley sit side-by-side to help cast the next dancer to join the hit reality show's ranks on Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, which premieres July 13 on ABC.

Dancing with the Starsstaple Derek Hough just shared the cutest update on his newborn baby girl.

"My baby Everley, she's a great sleeper," he said in a recent ABC interview. "She smiles, she's already laughed."

"It was the most incredible moment, I blew her belly and she just started giggling and I was like, 'What!'" he shared. "For like five minutes straight she was just laughing, that guttural laugh, that you're just like, 'Oh my gosh.'

"That's now my goal in life," he added. "I just want to make her laugh for the rest of my life, that's all I want to do."

Everley, whom Hough shares with wife Hayley Erbert,was born in December. The couple documented Erbert's pregnancy journey and now continue to share their lives as new parents.

As a family of three, the Hough brood will be heading out on the road for his tour “Symphony of Dance Encore,” which will feature Erbert, who stunned in promo photos taken just four weeks after she gave birth.

"To now be able to go on tour this summer, to bring her on the road with us even though she doesn't know what's going on yet," Hough said in the interview. "I cannot wait to share that."

The national tour, which kicks off in June and will have stops all over the country through August, was initially considered to be a big undertaking as the two were preparing to welcome Everley.

“I actually said, ‘Honey, I don’t know,’” Hough said in November. “I was like, ‘I don’t even know if I want to go on tour. I don’t know what I’m gonna feel, what I’m gonna experience. I don’t know how my life is gonna be. How personally my worldview is gonna change — and our life together as a family.’”

However Hough said he consulted his fellow dancers, including Val Chmerkovskiyand Jenna Johnson, who brought their 3-year-old, Rome, on the road for the Dancing With The Stars Tour this year, and was ultimately encouraged to bring his newborn along.

Laura Dern is checking into The White Lotus for season 4 after the departure of Helena Bonham Carter from the series.

Dern, 59, a longtime friend and colleague of White Lotus creator Mike White, will play a new character being developed and written for her by White, Deadline reported. The piece noted that at the time of Carter's exit from the series last week, when filming had already gotten underway, “it had become apparent” that the character created by White for Carter “did not align once on set.”

The announcement of Dern's casting on Instagram was received with celebratory praise from the public on social media.

Have Laura Dern and Mike White Worked Together Before?

Yes! The duo first teamed up for White's 2007 film Year of the Dog, which starred Molly Shannon. But their best-known project is the HBO series Enlightened, which ran from 2011 until 2013. Dern Is Set to Star in a Jeffrey Epstein Series

The White Lotus isn't the only exciting project on Dern's docket. In late March, it was announced that Dern will tackle the complex role of the talented journalist who dedicates her life to tracking Jeffrey Epstein's every move. Based on the book Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story by acclaimed Miami Herald journalist Julie K. Brown, the series will star Dern as Brown as she investigates his crimes.

The series is described as “an explosive account of an investigative reporter exposing the secret plea deal between Epstein and federal prosecutors. Drawing from Brown’s experience as a groundbreaking reporter for the Miami Herald, the book and the limited series follow her relentless years-long investigation that identified 80 victims, persuaded key survivors to go on the record, and led to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s arrests,” the Hollywood Reporter shared.

TV sitcom theme songs are often either preexisting hits or created specifically for a series. When Friends premiered on NBC in 1994, it went on to dominate cable TV and become one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time, with its theme song reaching No. 1 on multiple charts.

Everyone who's a fan of the sitcom knows the words to "I'll Be There For You" by the pop-rock duo the Rembrandts. Friends' opening title sequence of the main cast goofing off and having laughs in front of a water fountain and collapsing on the couch as the theme track plays has become iconic. Believe it or not, "I'll Be There For You" wasn't the original track, and the Rembrandts weren't the first choice.

Warner Bros. Television planned to use the track "Shiny Happy People" by R.E.M. as the title track, but the band had turned the opportunity down. The company still wanted a track by the band or its frontman, Michael Stipe, for other episodes, but they once again declined. With no other options, the company turned to the Rembrandts to sing the track.

According to reports, the track was composed by Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman's husband, Michael Skloff. Its main opening verse was then co-written by Friends producers David Crane and Kauffman along with songwriter Allee Willis. The Rembrandts were only chosen to record the track because they were the only available band under Warner Bros. Records.

Members Phil Sōlem and Danny Wilde didn't want to do the track, but had no choice against the company. According to The Independent, Stipe believes "I'll Be There For You" was created to mimic the R.E.M. song.

"Then they went to another band and said, ‘Can you write an REM song?’ That’s what I’ve heard. I don’t want to diss the other band. I don’t remember who they are, but that’s a good song," he said.

The iconic hand claps at the end of "I'll Be There For You" were a last-minute addition, but helped soar the track to success. It received mixed reviews from critics, some calling it one of the worst songs with a quirky sound. The Rembrandts' track never topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at No. 17.
