Lamar Odom is getting real about the first time he entered a rehab facility, and it wasn’t on his own accord. While still married to Khloe Kardashian, Odom remembered meeting a woman and inviting her to Big Bear. Along the way, they did drugs together. But apparently, the amount of drugs Odom took frightened the woman, so much so that when Kardashian called Odom and he was unable to answer in his state, the woman answered his phone and spoke with Kardashian.

“She lets my wife know where we’re going to be at. First, she lets my wife, obviously, know what I’m doing,” Odom said during an appearance on the Nothing’s Off the Table podcast. “I get back to the girl’s house, put some coke on the table, I’m sniffing a line, and I just see a head come around the corner, and the lady says, ‘Lammy!’ And it was their mother [Kris Jenner].”

Odom says Jenner had already arranged for him to be transported to a rehabilitation facility. “I was f–ked up. They took me straight to San Diego [to rehab]. It was like six SUVs outside because I’m doing drugs, and they probably didn’t know what they were going to run into. They were trying to protect me.”

Odom and Kardashian also recalled the incident in his Netflix documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom. Kardashian admitted she was initially unaware of Odom’s addiction, and that when she learned of it, she naively believed he had it under control. She spent years covering up his addiction from the public and recalled incidents of when Odom would leave rehab early and go on binges. 

After four years of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce. She halted divorce proceedings in 2015 while he recovered from a near-fatal overdose, and she helped nurse him back to health. Kardashian filed for divorce a final time a little over a year later, after Odom relapsed, and cut contact with him for nearly a decade.

Actress Kristen Stewart‘s response to a question about a popular meme from the Twilight film franchise has fans divided.

In the August 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live, hosted by Andy Cohen, Stewart, accompanied by her The Wrong Girls castmate, Alia Shawkat, responded to a question from an audience member who inquired about social media’s fascination with a Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) line from The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009).

“My question is what was your reaction to the ‘Bella, where the hell have you been loca’ meme? And did you speak about it with any of your co-stars?” asked the fan in the WWHL audience.

Stewart, who played Bella Swan throughout the five Twilight films, had a simple response, stating, “No.”

Shawkat then reminded her that they had recreated the Twilight Saga: New Moon moment during their promotion for The Wrong Girls.

“It was really cute,” said Shawkat.

Stewart suggested she was a bit confused by why she was asked to recreate the scene.

“And I was like, ‘Wait, what is that?’ And they were like, ‘Everybody loves that.’ And I was like, ‘Oh okay!'” said Stewart.

After Cohen asked her if she knew about the New Moon scene turning into a popular meme, she replied, “It was brought to my attention, but it took me a while.”

The clip from the August 12 episode of WWHL was uploaded on the talk show’s official TikTok page. Several fans gave their thoughts about Stewart’s response to the audience member, with some sharing their disapproval.

“Why is she being weird about it?” wrote a commenter.

“What an off-putting response,” added another.

“It’s like she’s ashamed of Bella when that literally started her career,” stated a TikTok user.

Quite a few commenters, however, came to Stewart’s defense, noting that the original Twilight movie premiered in 2008.

“She must be so sick of Twilight questions. She’s brilliant. Ask her about her directorial debut,” commented a social media user.

“Being asked about a movie you did 20 years ago must get annoying after a while. Especially when they are promoting a new movie that they’re just now putting out. Read the room lol these comments are weird,” added another.

“the first twilight movie about to turn 20 in 2 years, imagine still being asked questions about your first job. i’d say she’s not being rude enough. ya’ll need to knock it OFF,” shared a different person.

This is not the first time Stewart has discussed the “Bella, where the hell have you been loca” meme in an interview. In a 2024 appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, host Amanda Hirsch mentioned that the line had been “going viral” on TikTok. Stewart suggested she found the New Moon line perplexing, stating, “What in the world?”

“I wonder if that was in the script. What is that? Is that in the book? Maybe it’s in the book,” continued Stewart, in reference to Stephenie Meyer‘s Twilight book series.

Is there a Boston renaissance on the horizon? The band that rose to meteoric fame seemingly overnight is marking the 50th anniversary of its self-titled debut album, and fans are now clamoring for some commemorative recognition.

Barry Goudreau, former guitarist for the multi-platinum band, stirred the pot about reunion buzz when he recently took to Instagram and Facebook to share an archival photo of the group soundtracked to a live rendition of 1976‘s “Something About You.”

“Hard to believe we’re coming up on the 50th anniversary of the first Boston album and when all the Boston madness started,” Goudreau wrote on Aug. 4. “We went from little clubs to really big venues almost overnight when the album was released. Here’s a live clip of ‘Something About You’ from 1976 at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Pretty good audio on this.”

The post was promptly followed by fans flooding the comments section on both platforms with approval of the band and the song, while also sharing memories of seeing Boston perform live. But beyond the sharing of nostalgia, there was a call to action: Fans are requesting another remaster, a tour, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, something that celebrates this monumental milestone.

“How about a tour, Barry? One last time,” one fan wrote.

“Just THE BEST!! It’s ridiculous that you guys aren’t in the R & R Hall of Fame!” another shared.

“Three weeks from today is the 50th! I am sure Tom will have some big things to say; like a Live DVD will be coming out. LOL,” another joked.

Boston debuted on Aug. 25, 1976, and became a massive success. Producing three Billboard Hot 100-charting singles—“More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind,” and “Foreplay/Long Time”—the record climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard 200, carving out 138 weeks on the tally and eventually earning 17x Platinum certification by the RIAA.

As Goudreau implied, Boston absolutely went from unknowns to rock stars almost overnight.

In his post, the guitar legend focuses on one of the album’s lesser-known songs, “Something About You.” Recorded in Philadelphia Spectrum, it’s an explosive melodic classic rock deep cut that actually comes second to last on side two of the album. Still, it was instrumental in landing the band a record deal as one of six songs on the demo tape that attracted Epic Records.

“I made so many tapes and sent them out, and I’d get all the rejection slips back,” Tom Scholz, founder and the only constant original member of the band, told Louder in 2023, adding that the final tape had six songs on it, including “Rock & Roll Band,” “More Than a Feeling,” and “Something About You.” “All of these demos were done in the same way. My friend Jim Masdea played drums, and I would overdub all the instruments; Brad Delp would overdub all of the singing parts.”

Eventually, Epic made them an offer.

Now, 50 years later, fans want to hear it and all the other tracks from the Boston debut live. Especially since the idea of a reunion tour was teased last year.

Speaking with the Metal Mayhem ROC podcast in July 2025, guitarist Gary Pihl discussed mastermind Tom Scholz‘s ongoing studio work. He expressed hope that Boston would return, essentially saying his fingers were crossed that there would be another album and tour. He ended the buzz by telling fans they’d have to “wait and see.”

Hopes for a reunion became more complicated, however, when longtime lead singer Tommy DeCarlo died at age 60 on March 9, 2026, following a battle with brain cancer. In late 2025, a GoFundMe revealed that DeCarlo suffered a sudden brain bleed, leading to emergency surgery that uncovered melanoma masses on his brain and lungs. Interestingly, he passed away on the same calendar date as the band’s original lead vocalist, Brad Delp, in 2007.

Boston’s most recent concert tour, the Hyper Space Tour, was in 2017, and their last album, Life, Love & Hope, was released in December 2013 by Frontiers Records. Though the lineup has shifted over the years, Scholz remains the central figure. But beyond Goudreau’s post and Pihl’s teaser, there’s been no further talk of getting the band back together.

Still, Boston’s impact over the decades has been enormous. 1976 was an extraordinary year for classic rock, with Boston and their future greatest hits, including “More Than a Feeling,” becoming some of the decade’s and genre’s defining moments.

So, yes, the 50th anniversary is officially here. Former members have reminded everyone just how extraordinary that original explosion was. And classic rock fans clearly want more. But for now, they’ll just have to wait and see whether Scholz has anything special in store.

Kevin Smith has spent three decades trading stories with actors on convention floors and film sets and most of those encounters end up making him a bigger fan. One did not. On a recent episode of Jay & Silent Bob Are In The Hizzouse, Smith told cohost Jason Mewes that Kelsey Grammer, the actor behind Frasier Crane on both “Cheers” and “Frasier,” gave him one of the coldest receptions of his career.

The story dates back to a stretch when Smith produced quick celebrity bits for “The Tonight Show,” then the highest rated show in late night. He and a producer he worked with would travel to the Aspen Comedy Festival and the Sundance Film Festival to grab three or four minute segments with stars in town for the events, most of whom were happy to play along for a few quick, joke filled minutes on camera. Smith remembered meeting John Goodman this way, an encounter he says later helped lead to Goodman’s role in his film “Red State.” He also recalled bumping into Kelsey Grammer at one of these same stops, expecting a similarly easy conversation with an actor he had admired for years.

Grammer was a different story. Smith said the actor showed no real interest in participating once the cameras started rolling, responding to the pitch with flat indifference instead of the enthusiasm most guests brought to the segment. Mewes, listening to Smith recount it, summed up the mismatch simply: “Buddy, just say no.”

 He “almost came off like Frrasier except he didn’t have Fraiser tone,” Smith said. “Like Frasier sounds smart. This guy didn’t sound smart. He just sounded like a bully.”

Smith said the interview yielded almost nothing usable, just a few seconds of Grammer reacting to a line, and that the entire exchange left him surprised given how recognizable and beloved the Frasier Crane character already was by that point.

Grammer originated Frasier Crane on “Cheers” in 1984, then carried the character into his own long running spinoff, “Frasier,” which aired on NBC from 1993 to 2004 and became one of the most decorated comedies in Emmy history. He later revived the role for a Paramount+ continuation that debuted in 2023, running two seasons before the streamer opted not to move forward with a third.

Smith has built a career, and now several podcasts, out of turning offbeat industry encounters into stories audiences want to hear. He and Mewes have spent years narrating their nearly four decade friendship across shows including “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old” and now “Hizzouse,” and brief, prickly run-ins with stars remain some of their most requested material. Grammer’s five minutes, by Smith’s account, still stands out among them.

Bonnie Tyler’s funeral featured a touching choral performance of her biggest hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”

Tyler, a beloved Welsh singer known for her husky voice, died at the age of 75 on July 8 in a hospital in Portugal. After her coffin was transported to her former home, family and friends gathered at her private funeral in Swansea, while mourners outside watched on a screen in nearby St David’s Square, The Guardian reported. But inside the church, performers stood and gave a heartbreaking choral rendition of Tyler’s legendary song, “Total Eclipse of Heart.”

Early on Thursday, July 9, Tyler’s social media account announced the death of the “Holding Out For a Hero” singer.

“Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” the statement shared. “We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”

In early May, a representative for the singer told Entertainment Weekly that Tyler was in an induced coma.

“Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her Doctors to aid her recovery. We know that you all wish her 

well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please,” manager Matt Davis told EW. “We will issue a further statement when we are able to.”

That announcement followed their statement that the singer had undergone emergency surgery in Portugal and was recovering.

“We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery,” said a statement published to her website. “The surgery went well and she is now recuperating.”

The statement continued, “We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.”

Additional reports shared that Tyler had gone into cardiac arrest after her doctors attempted to bring her out of the precautionary coma.

In June, a representative for Tyler told The Sun that the singer had woken up from her coma, “but remains seriously ill.”

Devon Sawa has a new magical project set to premiere.

The former child star and ‘90s heartthrob, whose breakout was the title role of the friendly ghost in Casper, is set to appear in a new Disney series that has fans of all ages buzzing with excitement.

Arriving on Oct. 1, just in time for peak spooky season, is Coven Academy, described as a supernatural dramedy from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle. 

Sawa, who is also known for horror projects such as Chucky and Final Destination, recently shared a first look (set to Olivia Rodrigo’s “brutal”) at the upcoming series on his Instagram, which will also star ’90s icon Tiffani Thiessen of Saved by the Bell.

“Welcome to Coven Academy 🔮 The brand-new series premieres October 1 on Freeform, next day on Disney+ and Hulu,” he wrote.

His return to the magical realm will be in a guest-starring capacity as Mr. Cole, an “effortlessly cool teacher who’s tired of watching teenagers mistake talent for readiness.”

“He’s the adult who can clown you and protect you in the same breath. A good man and a brilliant warlock. It’s just another year at Coven Academy until Mr. Cole and the rest of the faculty are rocked by a surprising new student who threatens to upend everything,” the description on Deadline notes.

Unfortunately, fans didn’t get a snippet of Mr. Cole in the trailer, but it didn’t stop them from absolutely declaring their desire to tune in alongside their children for the vibes and nostalgia.

“Finally, something for the millennial parents and their older kids can watch together. My kids told me about it and said, “Some of your people are going to be in it.” They know me so well,” one fan wrote.

“Tiffany amber thiessen is coming back to tv?!?!? 😍 And Devon Sawa 🪦😍” and “This is so up my alley can’t wait!!! 😍” comments also poured in.

“Seated for Devon! So exciting!” another chimed in, with someone else noting, “Kelly Kapowski?? Sign me up! ❤️.”

Another pointed out that there’s a Final Destination franchise reunion, as Keegan Connor Tracy from Final Destination 2 will star as Tamora, writing, “Both him and Keegan were both on final destination so it’s going to be exciting especially with the final destination maze attraction going to be at six flags fright fest this year in late September or early October.”

Fittingly set in New Orlean, the YA series follows a “trio of teenage witches-in-training who are bound by destiny to guard their city against dangerous, ancient forces.”

“Between unraveling dark secrets, mastering volatile magic, and facing off against distractingly cute rivals, they must also navigate the heartbreaks and deep bonds that come with growing up,” the synopsis notes.

Thiessen will play Miss Graves, who guides the witches, starring alongside Malina Pauli Weissman as Briar, Malachi Barton as Jake, Louis Thresher as Ollie, Jordan Leftwich as Sasha, and Ora Duplass as Tegan.

Recurring guest stars also include Brendon Tremblay as Alexander and Swayam Bhatia as McKenna.

For Hayden Panettiere, while becoming a mother was always her dream, the role didn’t come naturally to her. Ahead of her tragic death at just 36, the actress opened up about her traumatic labor and delivery and her heartbreaking battle with postpartum depression. 

Panettiere and her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, dated on and off for nearly a decade until their 2018 split. Their daughter Kaya, now 11, was born in 2014. Following her birth, Panettiere struggled to connect with Kaya, and it made her question whether she was a good enough mom. 

Simultaneously, she was battling an addiction to opioids and alcohol. And her and Klitschko’s relationship was rocky. She revealed in an emotional interview with Red Table Talk that relinquishing custody of Kaya to her ex was soul-crushing. Furthermore, it meant Kaya living full-time with her father in Ukraine.

“[Kaya] was almost 3 and it wasn’t fully my decision,” Panettiere explained of relinquishing custody to Klitschko. “In fact, I didn’t even know it was happening until she was already over there.”

When asked by the hosts to clarify how the custody decisions came to be, the actress gave more details. “I was gonna go work on myself, and I was gonna get better, and when I got better that things could change and she could come to me and I could have my time with her,” she explained. “But that didn’t happen.”

“I thought she was going over to visit him like she always did,” the actress says. “[Kaya] would go back and forth from me in Nashville and Ukraine, and then once she was over there, it was immediately ‘I want full custody of her,’ which was a shock to me. It was very upsetting signing those papers to give him full custody. It was like the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever, ever had to do in my life,” Panettiere added. “In a country where her uncle [Vitali Klitschko] is the mayor and they are icons over there, it’s a country where it’s very male-dominated. There wasn’t a heck of a lot I could do.”

Despite such, Panettiere said earlier this year that her relationship with Kaya was great. She also praised her ex as an amazing father. 

Hayden Panettiere was public about her personal struggles with prescription drugs and alcohol. As fans and loved ones process her tragic passing at the age of 36, many are reflecting on her journey to sobriety and how candid the late actress was about trying to stay sober.

In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Panettiere revealed she was just 15 when someone on her team began to offer her “happy pills” before she walked the red carpets. “They were to make me peppy during interviews,” she said. “I had no idea that this was not an appropriate thing, or what door that would open for me when it came to my addiction.”

She said that for a while, things were controlled.  “My saving grace is that I couldn’t be messy while on set and working,” she said, noting she was working on the TV show Heroes at the time. “But things kept getting out of control [off set]. And as I got older, the drugs and alcohol became something I almost couldn’t live without.”

In her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, wrote about how her struggles with substances grew out of control following the birth of her daughter, Kaya, and at the height of her battle with postpartum depression. 

She kept working, and things kept spiraling. In 2018, the year her hit show Nashville ended, she sent Kaya to live with her father, which devastated her, and her drinking worsened. Panettiere was hospitalized and diagnosed with jaundice. “Doctors told me my liver was going to give out,” she recalls. “I was no longer a 20-year-old who could just bounce right back.” She eventually entered a rehab program, which she completed in eight months. 

Still, she admitted that sobriety was a daily struggle. Not having daily physical access to her daughter also made things difficult, but she credited her love for her daughter as one of her motivations to live as healthy as possible.

Connie Britton is remembering Hayden Panettiere following her shocking death at the age of 36.

Britton, 59, and Panettiere co-starred on ABC’s Nashville from 2012 to 2018. On the series, the two played fictional country music singers in Nashville, Tennessee.

Britton stared as Rayna Jaymes, a country music icon whose stardom was beginning to fade, while Panettiere played rising younger star Juliette Barnes, who was determined to replace Rayna as the top singer in country music.

Britton shared a touching tribute to her former co-star on Instagram one day after Panettiere’s sudden death on Monday, Aug. 17.

“This was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright,” Britton wrote alongside snaps of the pair from their time filming together. “I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you girl. Sleep easy now. 💔.”

On her Instagram Story, Britton also shared a sweet video of Panettiere singing and dancing with children from the African Children’s Choir.

The pair worked together for five seasons before Britton exited the series in 2017. Panettiere remained with the show through its sixth and final season in 2018.

Panettiere’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed her death to ABC News on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 16.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” Skip said in a statement.

He asked for privacy “as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

Police told NBC News that they, “accompanied by EMS personnel, responded to a report of an unresponsive female” at around 1:50 p.m. ET on Sunday.

According to dispatch audio obtained by People, law enforcement officials were heard discussing an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” around the time of Panettiere’s death.

“I don’t have any more information at this time, but it’s looking as though that is the case,” a representative for Panettiere told the publication.

Jason Ritter is opening up about the lasting connection he feels with his late father, beloved actor John Ritter, more than two decades after his death.

During a recent conversation with Hoda Kotb on the Joy 101 podcast, Jason reflected on losing his father and the moments that have made him feel his presence over the years.

John Ritter, best known for his role as Jack Tripper on Three’s Company, died unexpectedly on Sept. 11, 2003, at age 54 after suffering an aortic dissection.

Jason was 23 at the time, and he described his father as having a powerful presence in his life, a kind of “gravitational pull.” After John died, Jason said he wondered how the world could keep spinning without him.

But in the months that followed, Jason experienced moments that felt deeply personal.

He recalled seeing some of the most beautiful sunsets of his life after his father’s death. Then, on the anniversary of John’s passing, Jason remembered another striking moment.

“The whole sky was purple,” he said, noting that purple was his father’s favorite color.

Jason also said he still feels his father’s presence and sometimes intentionally reaches out to him when he needs guidance.

“I need you in this moment, Dad,” he recalled saying.

He explained that he channels his father in moments when he needs advice, drawing on the influence John had on him both personally and professionally.

Jason has also acknowledged the complicated experience of following his father into acting, saying during the conversation that he can’t help but compare himself to John.

More than 20 years after John’s death, however, Jason’s memories of his father extend far beyond his famous career. From beautiful sunsets to a sky that happened to be his favorite color, he continues to find moments that make his dad feel close.

When Home Depot gave a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes Halloween shoot earlier this month, shoppers had only one demand: “Great now tell your managers to start putting it on the floor. Especially the stuff you can’t buy online. 👏”

And finally, the time has come.

Not only will the collection give you goosebumps, so will the prices (in a good way), as one shopper pointed out that the “prices are very reasonable” compared to the competitors.

The death of Hayden Panettiere, 36, is as astounding as it is devastating. The Heroes star recently published her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, and as she made the rounds on the interview circuit, she brought a new awareness and honesty to her life.

Her last Instagram post was a photo of her and Randall Slavin, taken 15 years ago. It showed a cheeky, effervescent young woman who was full of life, and the repost seemed to suggest that Panettiere was trying to get back to being that person.

As her loved ones mourn her, her Custody co-star, Viola Davis, shared her perspective on Panettiere in an emotional post, while also lamenting the tragic loss.

“What an amazing talent you were….so gifted,” Davis wrote. “Julius [ Tennon, Davis’s husband and Custody co-star] and I loved working with you….an old, wise soul with such a deep heart. I wish the world had more time with you because I had a burning curiosity about who you were becoming. I saw this beautiful Phoenix rising from the ashes. Your tests became your testimony, and your testimony became your legacy. You will be remembered.”

“Rest well, Hayden,” she added. “Sending healing prayers to your family, your daughter, and all who loved you. May they always speak your name…”

Catalina Sandino Moreno, who also starred in Custody, shared a photo of Panettiere on her Instagram stories, writing “My beautiful Hayden…my heart is completely broken,” along with four broken heart emojis.

As tributes continue to pour in from castmates and friends across her many projects, the messages are similar: a woman who overcame so much trauma, and was just beginning to step into a fuller, more honest version of herself. Authorities in Greenville, South Carolina, say the investigation into her death is ongoing, though they have not indicated any signs of foul play.

Panettiere is survived by her daughter, Kaya Klitschko.

In 1975, one soft rock song accomplished something neither the band that recorded it nor its unusual record label would ever repeat.

“Fallin’ in Love” by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 23, 1975, beginning a one-week reign at the top.

It became the group’s only Hot 100 No. 1. But there was another first and last attached to the song: “Fallin’ in Love” was also the only pop No. 1 ever scored by Playboy Records.

Written by husband and wife Dan and Ann Hamilton, “Fallin’ in Love” appeared on the group’s 1975 album of the same name. The easygoing love song gave Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds their second top 10 hit, four years after “Don’t Pull Your Love” reached No. 4.

But there’s an odd wrinkle hidden inside the band’s name: Reynolds wasn’t actually in the group anymore when they recorded their only No. 1.

Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds grew out of the T-Bones, the instrumental group that scored a No. 3 hit in 1966 with “No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach’s In),” a tune famously used in an Alka-Seltzer commercial.

Hamilton, Joe Frank Carollo and Tommy Reynolds subsequently formed Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, signing with Dunhill Records in 1970. Their breakthrough came the following year with “Don’t Pull Your Love,” which sold more than 1 million copies and reached No. 4 on the Hot 100.

Reynolds left the group in 1972 and was eventually replaced by Alan Dennison. After the group’s relationship with Dunhill ended, Hamilton, Carollo and Dennison secured a new deal with Playboy Records in 1974.

There was just one peculiar condition: They had to keep calling themselves Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds.

Music historian Fred Bronson recounts the unusual situation in “The Billboard Book of Number One Hits,” noting that the trio was actually Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison by the time “Fallin’ in Love” came along, despite continuing to record under the old name.

The arrangement didn’t bother Dennison, who explained to Bronson that he saw the group’s name as an established entity rather than a literal roll call of its members.

And the confusing name certainly didn’t hurt them on the charts.

Released in 1975, “Fallin’ in Love” climbed all the way to the top of the Hot 100 for the week of Aug. 23.

It was an impressive week to be No. 1. The Eagles’ “One of These Nights” sat at No. 2, followed by KC and the Sunshine Band’s “Get Down Tonight,” the Bee Gees’ “Jive Talkin'” and Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy,” according to “The Billboard Book of Number One Hits.”

“Fallin’ in Love” also topped Billboard’s Easy Listening chart and reached No. 24 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. Internationally, it climbed to No. 2 in Canada and No. 33 in the U.K.

For Playboy Records, the song represented a high-water mark the label would never duplicate.

It was also the pinnacle for Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. The group followed “Fallin’ in Love” with “Winners and Losers,” which reached No. 21 in 1976. Subsequent singles failed to crack the top 40.

The band finally corrected its increasingly confusing name, becoming Hamilton, Joe Frank & Dennison for 1976’s Love & Conversation. They eventually disbanded permanently in 1980.

Twenty years after the original recording, “Fallin’ in Love” received another life when La Bouche covered it for the Eurodance duo’s 1995 debut album Sweet Dreams. Their version became a top 20 hit in several European countries and eventually reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Dance Club Play chart in the U.S.

But the original remains attached to an unusual double distinction. For one week in August 1975, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds gave themselves their only Hot 100 No. 1 while simultaneously giving Playboy Records its only pop chart-topper.

Fifty-one years later, neither feat has been repeated.

Hayden Panettiere’s sudden death has sent shockwaves across Hollywood as fans pay tribute to the 36-year-old actress.

While an official cause of death has yet to be announced, many on social media are blaming Panettiere’s estranged mother, Lesley Vogle, for her tragic passing.

Vogle’s Instagram, which is dedicated to her art foundation, has been flooded with hateful and accusatory comments since her daughter’s death was announced on August 16, 2026.

“Her blood is on your hands,” one person wrote before another added, “My mum is exactly like you and I live with the consequences of it everyday. Hope you had a good sleep.”

On X (formerly Twitter) similar comments are everywhere. “An old Hollywood soap opera actress who wanted to live vicariously through her children and now sadly has no kids at all,” one tweet read.

Vogel’s oldest son, Jansen, died in 2023 from a heart condition at the age of 28.

Panettiere’s mom has yet to comment on her daughter’s death. However, in her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” Panettiere claimed that her mother did not want a relationship with her after she asked to stop working with her at the age of 19.

“She never pursued a real relationship with me as just a mother and daughter. Once the business aspect was gone, I hoped she would simply be my mom,” Panettiere said on Jay Shetty’s podcast. “The fact that she didn’t seem to want a relationship with me was a tough pill to swallow.”

Vogel shared her side of the story in May 2026, telling Page Six, “After 20 years of trauma, I took the advice of professionals and chose the no-contact route. As many parents of entertainment children [know], we are all too familiar with the painful observation of watching the self-destructive paths they sometimes choose. No parent hopes for this scenario; we want our children to be the best of themselves and live a peaceful, joyful life!”

She continued, “Sadly, this is out of our control. You cannot save someone who does not want to be saved. Radical acceptance is the most difficult challenge any parent must embrace. Unfortunately, I have seen a great deal of such in my life experience.”

Panettiere is survived by her parents, and 11-year-old daughter, Kaya.

“Oh, and one more thing: What’s your refund policy?”

We consumers find ourselves asking this very question when making any number of substantial purchases. That includes booking travel.

And now, one of the major airlines in the U.S. has just tightened a refund deadline down to the very second, which View from the Wing accurately describes as “brutal.”

For American Airlines going forward, the ticket must be issued at least 168 hours before departure to qualify for 24-hour free cancellation, and the cancellation must be completed no more than 24 hours after ticketing. Miss either cutoff by one recorded second and the cash refund is gone. Yeesh!

This also matters to consumers because those booking close to departure gain no refund protection, forcing reliance on non-transferable travel credits or paying change fees, as Inside Flyer pointed out Monday, August 17.

This reverses a customer benefit American introduced nine years ago. In 2017, American improved its policy by reducing the advance-purchase requirement from seven days to two, View from the Sky reported at the time. It has now gone back to the federal minimum.

The UTC conversion prevents American from having to decide whether the customer’s time zone, the departure airport’s time zone or some other local clock controls.

Rival and competing airlines can be more generous, meanwhile, and policies differ substantially, per View from the Wing. Here are a couple examples:

• Delta has no 7-day advance purchase requirement for qualifying tickets bought directly from the airline, with a risk-free cancellation period that generally runs until midnight the day after purchase, or midnight of the departure date — whichever comes first. In other words, ticket purchased just after midnight receives almost 48 hours rather than exactly 24.
• Alaska Airlines provides a full refund within 24 hours as long as travel begins more than 24 hours after purchase. This protects many genuinely last-minute purchases that American excludes.

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was abducted on Feb. 1 — and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department just released a statement about remains found near Tucson, Ariz.

On Monday, Aug. 17, the department, led by Sheriff Chris Nanos, shared an update via X.

“PCSD Search & Rescue deputies are responding to reports of human remains found in a desert area near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard,” the message revealed. “The remains appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time. At this time, there is no indication they are connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.”

The PCSD also promised, “Additional information will be released as it becomes available.”

Nancy, 84, was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31, and her family reported her missing on Feb. 1. Since then, the FBI has released video footage of a masked suspect on Nancy’s front porch and alleged ransom notes. Savannah has also offered $1 million, in addition to other reward money, for information leading to an arrest.

On Aug. 1, Savannah posted a desperate plea on Instagram on the six-month anniversary of her mom’s disappearance.

“Six months ago, someone took her out of her bed in the dead of night. We have lived every moment, every breath, and every heartbeat in agony and despair ever since,” the NBC journalist began her message.

Savannah continued, “We are begging for help. We are desperate. We need someone to come forward. Someone knows something. Someone suspects something. Someone recognizes the writing in the ransom demand notes. Someone has noticed something different, strange, troubling or just unusual—perhaps with someone they deeply love. Perhaps they are afraid to come forward. Perhaps they are conflicted. Perhaps they are angry or upset for being in this situation. There is a way out—to tell what you know. You can do so anonymously.”

To conclude the post, the heartsick daughter vowed, “We will never stop looking for answer—and we will never stop looking for the light. We will always be hoping and praying and believing in the best of our world—in spite of circumstance. This is what our faith makes possible. Please. Bring her home. 💛.”

As of writing, however, investigators have not named a suspect in Nancy’s case.

Christopher Schwarzenegger is showing off his fit physique after major weight loss.

Last year, Schwarzenegger opened up about his weight loss journey while speaking at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles. He revealed that the transformation, which included dropping 30 pounds and adding plenty of muscle, “was a big process.”

“I started in 2019, when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities,” Christopher continued, PEOPLE reported. “I was like, ‘I want to go skydiving.’ And my friends were like, ‘Yeah, no shot.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I can’t skydive.’ “

Schwarzenegger emphasized that finding his path to health was “not an overnight thing.”

During high school, he attempted different paths, including meal delivery services. However, they weren’t very successful.

“I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he recalled.

In adulthood, he had to try several different methodologies before finding one that worked for him.

“It took a lot of trial and error, and even still to this day … when you’re saying, oh, before and after photos … I don’t feel like I’m an after yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point,” he stated.

One method he found to be successful was giving up bread during Lent.

“I lost 30 lbs. just through that,” he noted.
