Chrissy Metz is firing back at critics of her recent announcement that she’s tackling her health with a GLP-1.

Metz, 45, skyrocketed to fame on the hit NBC series This Is Us. Metz’s character on the show, Kate Pearson, frequently dealt with weight-related issues. Last week, the star announced that she’s partnered with telehealth company Ro to serve as a paid spokesperson for their GLP-1. But in a new appearance on “The Tamsen Show” podcast, Metz revealed that since her announcement, she’s experienced backlash from Internet commenters who criticize her body.

“It’s not that I don’t have people and naysayers and people who comment all kinds of stuff still to this day,” she said, Fox News reported. “Like I don’t know when people will stop doing that. I don’t think it ever will happen.”

Metz also shared that a distant relative congratulated her for “taking control of your weight,” as “weight has always been an issue in our family.”

The relative was “an overweight woman” herself, Metz shared, noting that weight comments from that relative aren’t as hurtful as some of the things strangers say. However, “The other comments are a little…it’s wild to me.”

“It’s interesting what people say cause would they ever say it to you on the streets? Never. Never,” she continued. “They’re like, ‘Oh, Chrissy, you’re pretty, but them eyebrows.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my god, it doesn’t matter what I do. It doesn’t matter.'”

During her appearance last week on Today, Metz spoke with Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin about her health issues, noting that she’s tried diets and group therapy over the years. After years of skepticism, she decided to try a GLP-1.

“It’s a whole lifestyle change,” Metz shared on Today. “It’s not just, ‘Oh, I’m going to take a medication because it’s not the easy way out.’ I think a lot of people think, ‘Oh, it’s a magic wand,’ and no, in fact you have to be more diligent.”

Metz, who said she witnessed her father’s health complications from obesity, noted that she’s finally focusing on getting healthy. The food noise she struggled with for years is also gone.

“It’s good for me because I’m really putting myself first, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but I have to really put into practice now,” she added.

In 1992, Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike gained widespread attention after being released as a single,  later becoming one of the most iconic songs not only by the supergroup but in music history.

Based on the ranking released by Collider, which named the 10 Best Grunge Songs of All Time, “Hunger Strike” secured the second spot next to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

The publication described the song as a “grunge heaven” and a “peak of art,” with Soundgarden’s lead vocalist Chris Cornell teaming up with Eddie Vedder for a song that “captivated listeners with their powerful vocals.”

Written by Cornell for the supergroup’s self-titled debut album, the song was created because he didn’t want the record to end on an odd number, making the tracklist from nine to ten songs.

“So I had this other song that I whipped up so we could have ten, because I just have to have ten,” said the lead vocalist, as revealed in the documentary book Pearl Jam Twenty, as cited by Louder.

With Cornell as the lead vocalist of the supergroup, he was joined by all-star members Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar and Jeff Ament on bass guitar, both from Mother Love Bone, as well as Mike McCready from Pearl Jam on lead guitar and Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron on drums.

Apart from accomplished musicians completing the lineup, “Hunger Strike” also featured an iconic collaboration with Vedder.

However, it was all accidental when the Pearl Jam vocalist offered help after noticing Cornell was struggling with some parts.

“I feel this shadow presence over my shoulder,” the Soundgarden member recalled. “And there’s only one mike, and the chorus comes around again, and he sort of moves his shoulder in just to let me know he’s got a plan. And I don’t know him. We had said hi… So he hit the “Going hungry,” I sang the high part and then he hit it again. All of a sudden, a lightbulb went off in my head and I thought, ‘F–k, his voice sounds incredible in that deep register.”

Lo and behold, the song became a commercial hit, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 7 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, followed by heavy rotation on MTV.

Decades later, “Hunger Strike” has remained as iconic as ever, with Reddit contributors also considering it “the best grunge song.”

In an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, the line between life and death comes down to minutes. For the first responders who converged on the Judson Mill Lofts southwest of downtown Greenville on Sunday, August 16, that window was 41 minutes long. An acquaintance called emergency services upon discovering 36-year-old actress Hayden Panettiere unresponsive inside an apartment on the property.

Here is the sequence of how the emergency response unfolded inside the converted textile mill complex southwest of downtown Greenville.

1:51 p.m. — The Emergency Call Greenville County 911 dispatch receives an urgent call from an acquaintance inside an apartment at Judson Mill Lofts. The caller reports discovering Panettiere unresponsive and not breathing. The operator immediately codes the incident as a Priority 1 cardiac arrest, starts CPR coaching over the line, and triggers simultaneous tones for Greenville Police and Greenville County EMS Unit 12.

1:53 p.m. — Units En Route Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) logs show three Greenville Police cruisers and an EMS advanced life support ambulance rolling toward the mill district with sirens active.

1:55 p.m. — Arrival at Judson Mill First-arriving police officers clear the entrance of the complex four minutes after the initial call. Officers enter the residence, confirm Panettiere is pulseless, and initiate mechanical chest compressions on the floor.

1:58 p.m. — EMS Breaches the Scene Paramedics enter the unit carrying a monitor-defibrillator, airway kit, and emergency drug packs. Medical control is established. Medics attach defibrillator pads to assess cardiac rhythm while maintaining continuous, high-quality chest compressions.

2:04 p.m. — Advanced Life Support Initiated Emergency crews establish an intravenous line to deliver cardiac medications, including epinephrine, to stimulate heart muscle activity. Paramedics secure an advanced airway to provide direct oxygenation. Rhythm checks reveal no shockable electrical activity.

2:15 p.m. — Extended Resuscitation Protocol The medical team cycles through standard Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) algorithms. Every two minutes, responders rotate compressor roles to avoid fatigue, reassess vitals, and administer further rounds of emergency cardiac drugs.

2:28 p.m. — Medical Consultation Having exhausted field resuscitation protocols without achieving return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), the lead paramedic contacts on-call medical command to review the telemetry data and the duration of the arrest.

2:32 p.m. — Pronouncement of Death Resuscitation measures are terminated. Panettiere is officially pronounced dead on the scene, 41 minutes after the 911 call was placed.

Greenville police immediately cordoned off the apartment to secure the area for the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Officials confirmed initial findings showed no signs of trauma or foul play.

While toxicology testing will determine the underlying physiological trigger, the dispatch record provides the definitive account of the swift, exhaustive effort by first responders to keep the actress alive.

Beth Chamberlin is remembering Hayden Panettiere as a gifted young performer who stood out long before her breakout roles on primetime television.

Chamberlin, who played Panettiere‘s on-screen mother on Guiding Light, shared an emotional Instagram tribute after the actress died Sunday at 36. Panettiere portrayed Lizzie Spaulding, the daughter of Chamberlin’s Beth Raines, on the CBS soap.

For Chamberlin, the loss brought her back to those early years and to a young costar whose talent, focus and professionalism never left her memory.

Chamberlin looked back on the three years she spent working closely with Panettiere and recalled the remarkable discipline the young actress brought to the set.

“Hayden played my daughter for 3 years. She was the most brilliant child actor I’ve ever seen. The things she could do, the way she could remember 20+ pages of dialogue, day after day. Even on days where the director would come out between dress and tape and make huge cuts to the scenes, Hayden never once forgot a line or missed her blocking. The adults would, but not Hayden. I felt blessed to work with her. And always perfect in her playing of the scene.”

Panettiere played Lizzie on Guiding Light from the 1990s into 2000, one of the early roles that established her as a formidable child actor.

Chamberlin’s tribute gave fans a closer look at Panettiere’s brilliance as a child actor, focusing on what viewers never saw: the behind-the-scenes preparation and her ability to adjust when scenes changed at the last minute. The actress also shared a throwback cast photo with the message, “Please remember Hayden for her brilliance.”

After her soap years, Panettiere became widely known as Claire Bennet on Heroes and later starred as Juliette Barnes on Nashville.

Her performance on Nashville earned two Golden Globe nominations. Her film credits included Remember the Titans, Scream 4 and Scream VI. Her thriving career only reinforced what Chamberlin said she had already witnessed when Panettiere was a child.

Panettiere died August 16 at age 36 after she was found unresponsive in Greenville, South Carolina, according to People.

No cause of death has been announced. Police said the preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances, though the case remains under investigation.

Things are not looking great for the James Gunn era of the DC universe on HBO. Just after hearing that Booster Gold isn’t happening — at least, not with the current team — the streamer has now confirmed that it has scrapped two highly-anticipated shows.

Both Waller and Paradise Lost are no longer in development at Warner Bros. This is all before production has started, and it marks a significant change to Warner Bros.’ direction within the DCU.

As The Ankler confirmed the cancellation of the two projects, no clear reason was given. All that the publication could confirm was that Gunn and fellow creator Peter Safran “don’t try to force any development into HBO.” The two want the full HBO team to be on board with any production idea that they have.

It’s a sad day for many, though. This is two female-led projects that have been removed from the slate, and it comes just as the male-dominated Lanterns kicks off in a huge way. 

While Lanterns hasn’t yet been renewed, a co-showrunner has been hired for Season 2. A Superman spinoff focused on Jimmy Olsen is also still in development, and while Booster Gold has been scrapped with its current creative team, there are still reports that the series itself could still be in development.

The first of the two projects was highly anticipated thanks to the appearance of Waller within the DCU, both in terms of Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Viola Davis was set to reprise the role, and it would have been a way to fill in the narrative gap between Peacemaker Seasons 1 and 2.

While that narrative gap doesn’t necessarily need to be filled, many were excited to see the ruthless A.R.G.U.S. agent take the lead and see the character fleshed out.

The second of the two HBO projects was a prequel to Wonder Woman. However, it was more than a story about the young Amazon warrior we have come to know in various iterations. This time, it was a chance to head to Themyscira, the world of the Amazons.

Described as a Game of Thrones-esque political drama, the prequel series was set to explore the history and power struggles among the women, long before Wonder Woman’s birth. There is still much to learn about the warrior women, both in the comic books and in the DCU.

New photos have come out, showing emergency personnel, including a fire truck and multiple ambulances, outside the Greenville, South Carolina, residence where Hayden Panettiere died. The photos were obtained and shared by TMZ.

The actress died on Sunday, Aug. 16, with her death suspected to be a drug overdose at this time. She was found inside an apartment by a friend, who called 911 to report that the actress was in cardiac arrest. CPR was performed at the scene, but she was ultimately pronounced dead as they were unable to revive her.

Another photo shared showed the Greenville County coroner’s truck in front of the building as well.

The police released a new statement on Monday morning, saying that they do not suspect foul play at this time.

“Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said in a statement. “The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.”

Sister Wives may be heading into Season 21, but a portion of its audience appears to believe that the series should say a graceful goodbye.

Viewers believe the TLC hit has officially reached a natural end. With the Brown family dynamics fractured beyond repair, fans are calling for the series’ conclusion.

In a Reddit post, viewers reflected on the end of Season 20 and how unsatisfied they felt after what TLC billed as Kody Brown‘s “apology tour” to his ex-wives Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown Woolley, and Robyn Brown. They believe that, however the season concluded, it should have been left as is, for the family is too fragmented to continue to film under the “sister wives” banner of polygamy.

This chatter appeared online as fans await the announcement of Season 21 of the series. Typically, a new installment debuts in early fall.

Christine’s daughter, Mykelti Brown Padron, confirmed in interviews conducted over the past several months that a new season of the series has been filmed. However, she did not share any official details about when these episodes would debut.

On Reddit, viewers appear to be unhappy with how the show has evolved. They would rather it ended with Kody’s apologies to his wives than drum up more individual drama for the series’ stars.

One fan wrote, “Yeah. There’s nothing left to this show. Time to shut it all down. I don’t think the viewers care any longer.”

“Pretty sure they are still under contract, so the apology tour was a good idea, and it’s kept us entertained and talking for another round of nothingness,” claimed a second Redditor.

A third viewer exclaimed, “This show should have ended 2-3 seasons ago! There are no more sister wives.”

Finally, a fourth fan deduced, “He did the apology tour so they’d have something to film together. Ratings improve when it’s more family versus 4 separate teams.”

Since Season 20 ended, there has been mostly silence from the Sister Wives camp on their shared relationships and any further filming details. Other than Mykelti, her sister Madison Brown Brush has also opened up about her family life in recent months, but not about details surrounding the series’ new season.

Along with Maddie and Mykelti, Meri, Christine, Janelle, Gwendlyn Brown, and Leon Brown are all active on social media, but prefer to share information regarding their lives rather than only discuss the series. Kody Brown last posted on his official Instagram page on November 20, 2025, to promote his appearance on FOX’s Special Forces. Robyn Brown appears to still be active on Pinterest.

Sister Wives is currently on hiatus. The series airs on TLC.

Anne Hathaway is formally breaking her silence upon learning that her iconic Princess Diaries co-star, Julie Andrews, won’t be returning for the upcoming sequel.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hathaway revealed some of her favorite things about working with the Mary Poppins star, many of which she fondly she recalled from their time spent on the Princess Diaries films.

“She’s so warm and she’s so gracious and she’s so funny,” Hathaway told EW, remembering her stint opposite Andrews in 2001’s The Princess Diaries and its 2004 sequel.

“She brings magic with her wherever she goes. She’s this amazing love conductor,” the Les Mis actress continued. “People feel so safe loving her, and she’s so beautiful at receiving love and giving it back to people. And who doesn’t want to be around people like that?” 

Previously, Andrews confirmed that she wouldn’t returning for Princess Diaries despite heavy speculation to the contrary.

Around the same time Hathaway shared her loving words centered around Andrews, she also went out of her way to mention the Sound of Music star in her emotional acceptance speech for the prestigious Disney Legends.

“How lucky am I that my first studio picture ever starred perhaps the greatest Disney Legend of all time, the incomparable Julie Andrews,” Hathaway said. “I got to learn so much from her when I was just 17. From the time I met her at the first read-through of the Princess Diaries, she showed me that kindness, patience, hard work… [an] unbeatable combination.”

In addition to Hathaway, other Disney Legends named this year include Moana star Dwayne Johnson, Hamilton songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and Camp Rock stars and prolific musicians the Jonas Brothers, among others.

As of yet, there’s no official word on when exactly The Princess Diaries 3 will arrive in theaters, with early production still underway.

Diane Sawyer packs the punch of brilliance and beauty at 80.

The legendary broadcast journalist, who started as a teen in scholarship pageants before going to college and moving into roles in local news, went on to become one of the most prominent voices in modern journalism. She became the first female correspondent on 60 Minutes and went on to co-anchor Good Morning America. While Sawyer still occasionally serves as a contributor to ABC News, her time in front of the camera has lessened in recent years, particularly since the death of her husband, the iconic director Mike Nichols, in 2014.

Sawyer’s rare appearance onstage at the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23: Legends in Anaheim made it clear that she’s every bit the blonde beauty that she was back in her early days in journalism. Back in December, Sawyer showed the world that she’s still having the time of her life with her friends. Alongside comedy queen Amy Schumer, Sawyer enjoyed a fun girls’ trip.

While Sawyer doesn’t work as often as she used to, she packs a punch when she does. Last August, Sawyer sat down with Emma Heming Willis, the wife of Die Hard and Pulp Fiction star Bruce Willis, to discuss Willis’ diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia, a type of dementia that impacts one’s personality and may cause behavioral changes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“I was so panicked, and I just remember hearing it and just not hearing anything else,” Heming Willis told Sawyer in the interview, which was part of the ABC special “Emma & Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey.”

In addition to her interview with Emma Heming Willis, Sawyer scored a coveted interview with Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria star Eric Dane, who revealed his battle with ALS, a degenerative neurological disorder.

“I wake up every day and I’m immediately reminded that this is happening,” Dane told Sawyer in an interview that aired last June on Good Morning America. “It’s not a dream.”

“This series would be great if there wasn’t 5 years between each damn season.”

That’s just fan reaction to the first-look reveal The Terminal List season 2, new images of the Chris Pratt-led action series that were officially released by Prime Video on Monday, August 17.

The assortment of pics comes more than four years after the first season’s premiere on the streamer, prompting the viewer’s reaction quoted above. Season 1 had received mixed reviews and currently sits at just a 42% average critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

USA Today had also taken to social media on Sunday, August 17 to exclusively reveal the photos early, and fans have since flooded the Instagram carousel to share a variety of reactions. “If it’s anything like the book, it’s gonna be great,” said one user, while another person commented, “Pratt and the team really went all in on this one. Can’t wait to watch it!”

Here’s Prime’s official synopsis of season 2: “From the best-selling novels of the same name, The Terminal List centers on Navy SEAL Commander “James Reece” (Pratt) as he battles unknown conspiratorial forces seeking to upend the world order. This season comes from Jack Carr‘s second novel, True Believer, where he puts “James Reece” on a journey of violent redemption, finding a new purpose after finishing his list. The psychological revenge thriller of Season One opens up into a globe-trotting espionage thriller taking Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.”

The synopsis continues, “Joined by returning fan favorites like “Raife Hastings” (Tom Hopper), “Katie Buranek” (Constance Wu), “Mohammed Farooq” (Dar Salim), “Jules Landry” (Luke Hemsworth) and newcomers like “Freddy Strain” (Gabriel Luna), Reece will uncover a conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family’s history.”

Think back to when Bosch was originally canceled by Prime Video. It didn’t take long for a spinoff to be announced, and the universe has grown considerably since. The same thing is about to happen to The Lincoln Lawyer.

While fans still wait for the fifth and final season of The Lincoln Lawyer, there’s some exciting news. The series, adapted from Michael Connelly‘s books, is not going to be the end of Mickey Haller’s universe. Netflix has quietly confirmed a spinoff is coming.

There isn’t a title just yet, but Deadline reports that the Netflix spinoff will focus on Cobie Smulders’ half-sister, Artemisia “Emi” Finch. The Lincoln Lawyer EPs, Ted Humphy, Dailyn Rodriguez, and Matthew J. Lieberman, will write the script, helping to keep the consistency from the original series.

So far, it’s not clear what the story will initially focus on, but the three writers spent time honing the script and pitch to make sure Netflix saw why it was necessary to continue Haller’s universe. There is also no release date, as the series is still in development.

The series was so well received from the streaming giant that it is now in quick development. The intention is for it to be filmed in California, where it could take advantage of the tax credit, but the official full green light on the series is contingent on everyone needed for the spinoff to succeed signing on.

Connelly fans will know that Emi doesn’t appear in any of the novels. In the original story, Harry Bosch is the half-brother of Mickey Haller, and there are various developments between the two to help explain dynamics in Mickey’s character.

As Bosch is an Amazon-owned universe, it created problems for developing those storylines. To avoid the issue, The Lincoln Lawyer created the character of Emi. This offers the writers more freedom when it comes to developing the new show.

When Bosch came to an end after seven seasons, the story of the titular character continued with the Freevee-turned-Prime Video series Bosch: Legacy. That ran for three seasons, bringing Harry as a PI and focusing on his daughter, who became a cop. Prime Video has continued the universe with Ballard, which has been renewed for a second season. With the success of that universe developing, it makes sense that Netflix is doing the same with The Lincoln Lawyer.

Some songs from over the years might not have become a No. 1 hit but made just as big an impact on music. One of these songs is Foreigner’s 1981 power ballad “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” which peaked just shy of the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The track was the second official single for the band’s fourth studio album, aptly titled 4. The song first came out on the album in July 1981 before being released as a single later the same year.

Only a few weeks after the single version was released, “Waiting for a Girl Like You” had already soared to the No. 2 position on the Billboard Hot 100. Unfortunately, it stayed there for 10 weeks, becoming the longest song to do so.

It was shut out of the top spot by Olivia Newton-John’s song “Physical” for nine weeks. In the 10th week, Hall & Oates’ “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)” was No. 1 instead.

Despite not becoming a certified No. 1 hit in the U.S., “Waiting for a Girl Like You” still found plenty of success. On Billboard‘s Rock Tracks chart and Radio & Records (R&R) Top 40/CHR chart, it finally hit No. 1. In the U.K., it peaked at No. 8, while it entered the Top 20 in several other countries, including Belgium, Canada, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, and more.

Even without being a true chart-topper in America, the song was one of Foreigner’s biggest hits. It was only bested by 1985’s “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which became a No. 1 track.

The album 4 was just as successful as its single, if not more so. It held the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for 10 weeks, while it sold over 6 million copies in just the U.S. Along with “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” other singles on the album were “Urgent,” “Break It Up,” “Luanne,” and a few territory-specific singles.

Jane Seymour is embracing 75 with plenty of color, laughter, and a reminder to make room for the things that matter.

The actress shared a sunny photo from her Malibu garden on Sunday, August 16, posing in a bright pink swimsuit with a floral cover-up draped around her shoulders.

Sitting barefoot among vibrant red flowers, Seymour laughed for the camera while checking in with followers for her weekly “#OpenHeartsSunday” post. “As a new week begins, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to keep moving from one thing to the next without ever asking ourselves how we’re actually doing,” she wrote.

Rather than offer a sweeping life lesson, Seymour encouraged followers to think about what they personally need more of, whether that is joy, rest, courage, laughter, or simply time alone. She ended with a question: “What do you need a little more of right now?”

The sentiment fits with Seymour’s broader outlook on growing older. She has repeatedly rejected the idea that reaching a certain age means slowing down.

Seymour previously told Parade that aging is less about turning back the clock and more about making the most of the stage of life you’re in. “Anti-aging, for me, [is that] you’re not going back,” she said. “You’re going to be the best you can be at the age you’re at. You can age super fast if you give up.”

She echoed that outlook in a 2025 interview with People, saying, “I have to actually wake up in the morning and remind myself how old I am because inside of me, I would say I still feel like I’m maybe about 40 or 50, maybe 40.”

Seymour’s career stretches back more than five decades. She gained international attention as Solitaire opposite Roger Moore in 1973’s Live and Let Die and later starred in Somewhere in Time, East of Eden, and Wedding Crashers.

She also became a television favorite as Dr. Michaela Quinn in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Seymour is also celebrating a happy chapter in her personal life. According to People, she confirmed in June that she is engaged to musician and emergency room physician John Zambetti after nearly three years together. The couple began dating in 2023 after their children helped bring them together. Seymour has made little secret of how happy she is, telling the outlet that Zambetti is the kindest and most caring man she has known.

At 75, Seymour seems far more interested in what comes next than in looking backward, and Sunday’s joyful garden photo captured that philosophy perfectly.

In Greenville, South Carolina, a brick complex called Judson Mill sits two miles west of the city’s downtown center. Once a bustling textile printing operation, the century-old site has been transformed into a mixed-use hub of loft apartments, bouldering gyms, and live music spaces. Yet over the weekend, the property became the unexpected crossroads for two very different chapters of the hit television series Nashville.

On Friday night, August 14, Charles Esten took the stage at The Foundry, a popular 500-capacity live music venue located inside the Judson Mill complex. Esten, who spent six seasons portraying the country singer Deacon Claybourne on the beloved musical drama, was in town performing a solo concert for Upstate South Carolina fans.

Less than 48 hours later, on Sunday afternoon, emergency sirens blared across the same complex. First responders were dispatched at 1:50 p.m. to the Judson Mill Lofts, residential apartments sharing the mill grounds, following an emergency 911 call reporting an unresponsive woman. Inside, paramedics administered emergency cardiac aid to Esten’s longtime Nashville co-star, Hayden Panettiere. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 p.m. at 36 years old.

For six years and more than 120 episodes, Panettiere and Esten shared some of television’s most emotionally charged scenes. Panettiere’s portrayal of troubled superstar Juliette Barnes and Esten’s weathered Deacon Claybourne served as the emotional twin anchors of the series, navigating chaotic storylines of addiction, redemption, and artistic survival.

The proximity of their weekend sparked questions among the show’s devoted global fanbase: Was Panettiere in Upstate South Carolina to see her longtime friend and co-star perform, or was the shared address a coincidence?

Preliminary statements offer no evidence that the two met over the weekend. Panettiere had flown across the country from Los Angeles on Saturday with on-and-off partner Brian Hickerson, arriving in the area a day after Esten’s performance. Hickerson, a South Carolina native, brought deep ties to the region, making the loft rental a quiet base for a private weekend away from the West Coast.

Greenville police and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office have confirmed an active inquiry, noting that preliminary findings show no signs of foul play.

Yet for fans of the show that defined an era of television music, the realization that Panettiere spent her final hours just yards from where her longtime screen partner had stood with a guitar on Friday night adds a haunting, cinematic layer to an already devastating loss.

Country parody artist Cledus T. Judd, perhaps best known for skewering some of the biggest hits of the ’90s and admittedly riding the coattails of Shania Twain, has released a new track poking fun at Langley’s latest hit, “Be Her” — one of four current chart-climbing songs showing no signs of pumping the brakes.

Judd had quite the run in the ’90s, earning a reputation as country music’s “Weird Al” — which can be taken as quite the compliment considering Weird Al Yankovic is Judd’s own comedy hero. He’s sold more than 2 million records over his career, a remarkable haul for a musical comedian largely focused on one genre.

His latest parody is called “Meet Her,” continuing a career path built on spoofs such as “If Shania Was Mine” and “Did I Shave My Back for This?” His 1996 album I Stoled This Record, which included multiple Shania Twain parodies, was even certified gold.

“Meet Her” puts his own comedic spin on “Be Her,” turning Langley’s hit into an unabashed plea to meet the country superstar himself.

Judging from her recent Caribbean vacay, where she joined in singing reggae with locals, it’s safe to say it really is a delight to, well, meet her…

Following the same rhythm, but exuding more Kidz Bop than Grand Ole Opry, Judd leans into intentionally goofy vocals and a stripped-down sound that makes the whole thing feel delightfully unserious as a shameless “Ella Fella.”

Judd’s heyday may have been in the ’90s, as he’s remained relatively low-key in the decades since, outside of appearances on shows like Celebrity Fit Club. He announced his retirement in 2015 to focus on raising his daughter, only to return to performing a few years later. Now he’s back on the road with his Goofiest of All Time Tour, where his latest creation is sure to fit right in.

On August 17, 1997, Diana was one year divorced from then-Prince Charles. They wed in July 1981 and had two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

She was continuing to vacation in St. Tropez with her rumored boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed. Paparazzi photos taken during that summer showed the Princess of Wales in a multicolored, one-piece bathing suit, as she sunned on Jonikal, a luxury yacht owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed (Fayed’s father).

At this time, Diana’s sons, William and Harry, joined her. It was the first time her children met the man with whom she would spend her final days.

According to royal editor Robert Jobson in his book William’s Princess, William had definite thoughts about his mother’s final romance, per an excerpt by Express. Jobson shared his thoughts into how the young royal processed his mother’s new relationship at the time.

“In July 1997, Diana and the boys enjoyed what was to be their last holiday together,” Jobson began. “They spent it in the South of France. They stayed at the villa Castel Ste Therese, set high on the cliffs above St. Tropez, in a 10-acre estate complete with its own private beach and the Conical, a luxury yacht, at their constant disposal.:”

The passage continued, “Diana and her boys had been at the Castel Ste Therese for a few days when Dodi arrived, and it wasn’t long before the chemistry kicked in.  If it was William’s blessing for her relationship with Dodi that [Diana] wanted, then she got it.”

Jobson concluded, “Dodi made his mother laugh; he seemed to make her genuinely happy…And William, so keen to see his mother happy, witnessed it. It was, according to those close to the young prince, a source of some comfort to him in the dark days that followed.”

As August ended, Diana’s sons returned to Charles, and she and Al Fayed traveled to Paris, per PEOPLE Magazine. They reportedly wished to escape the paparazzi, who had documented their burgeoning romance. Then, Diana was set to head back to London to see her sons.

Around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 31, 1997, the couple left Paris’s Ritz hotel to head to Al Fayed’s apartment. They were driven by Henri Paul, the Ritz’s assistant director of security. Trevor Rees-Jones, Dodi’s bodyguard, sat alongside Paul in the front passenger seat.

The duo were again relentlessly pursed by paparazzi. Paul raced to outrun photographers, but ultimately crashed into a concrete support column in the Place de l’Alma tunnel.

Fayed and Paul were instantly killed. Diana was still alive when paramedics arrived. Reese Jones survived the accident.

The Princess of Wales was taken to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. She ultimately went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. at the age of 36.

Ritchie Blackmore revealed that his reunion with his Deep Purple bandmates, decades after his bitter split from the group, was “emotional.”

The legendary guitarist reunited onstage with Deep Purple at Jones Theater in Wantagh, New York, for an Aug. 12 performance of “Smoke on the Water,” the band’s iconic 1972 Machinehead track.

Blackmore, 81, played the encore song alongside his former bandmates Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, and current members Don Airey and Simon McBride. He admitted the reunion was an extremely emotional moment for all.

“It was very moving because I went on very quickly and had to play immediately,” he told Guitar Player. “I couldn’t warm up, but I wasn’t there to be playing correct notes. I was there to see old friends I hadn’t seen in 40 years and were all getting older. I think we realized it could be the last time we see each other, maybe.”

Blackmore, who lives on Long Island not far from the concert venue, told the outlet the reunion was his idea after he thought “it would be good for the fans if I just got up for one song, probably ‘Smoke’ and just show that we’re not at each other’s throats and don’t hate each other.”

“I was there to heal any wounds — but there weren’t any wounds,” he added. “Everyone was like, we were in the army, all along the Western front, and we were all getting together again. Very emotional moment.”

Blackmore last played with Deep Purple in November 1993, in Helsinki, Finland. He left the band he co-founded amid tensions with Gillan.

“You’ve got to know Ian to figure out what his personality is,” Blackmore once said, per Classic Rock. “It takes a while because he’s an astute man, very clever. He’s got this strange psyche; a strange obnoxious side to him which is a side I don’t like.”

Blackmore also noted that he wasn’t inspired by Deep Purple’s music towards the end of his run in the band in the early 1990s.

“I’m not really interested in the modern approach with modern instruments,” Blackmore told Long Island Weekly in 2022. “Melody is very important to me. It’s an important thing. That’s why, even in Deep Purple, towards the end, before I left, our music was a bit monophonic. There wasn’t too much melody and if I don’t hear a melody, I can’t be inspired.”

Thirty-three years after leaving Deep Purple, Blackmore posed with the band following the onstage reunion.

“Good night had by all, I hope,” he wrote on Facebook. “I know I had a great time. Thanks a lot lads. Carry on and have a good tour.”

To talk about the beginning of the grunge gods we know as Pearl Jam is to talk about one of their debut tracks, “Alive.” To fans, it became an anthem of perseverance, one that loudly proclaimed they still had so much to offer even after surviving tragedy. The song has since been hailed as one of the best grunge songs of all time by Collider and is a staple in the Pearl Jam catalog.

Despite the song’s popularity, it has zero U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart history, and it actually didn’t start out as the positive anthem it has become.

It’s fair to say that without frontman Eddie Vedder and his signature voice, Pearl Jam would not be what it is today. Before hitting the mainstream, the music for “Alive” was an echo of itself that began with the band Mother Love Bone, which consisted of Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, and Jeff Ament. Before finding Vedder as their frontman, they worked with Andrew Wood as their lead singer. While they released an album entitled Apple in 1990, just months before its release, Wood died from a heroin overdose, leaving the band mourning without a frontman, according to Far Out Magazine.

Though the band originally reached out to former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons, he didn’t feel he was right for the project and passed the demo tape off to his friend, Vedder. He added lyrics to the song and recorded his vocals, according to Songfacts, and the band was taken aback by what they heard. Vedder’s unique voice and personal lyrics left an impression.

The song he crafted centered around real-life drama, recalling the time Vedder’s mother informed him that his stepfather wasn’t his biological father—who had actually died. In an episode of VH1 Storytellers, Vedder revealed that the chorus of “I’m still alive” was originally intended to convey the weight of a “curse,” reflective of him living and surviving in the aftermath of such a large secret. It was the audience that changed that for him.

“When they changed the meaning of those words, they lifted the curse,” he famously claimed.

The song is actually part of a trilogy (often referred to as the “Mamasan Trilogy”); the follow-up song is “Once,” which darkly depicts the wronged boy growing up and going on a killing spree, and “Footsteps,” which follows him facing the death penalty and blaming his mother for his actions.

Despite being one of the most beloved grunge bands of the ’90s, Pearl Jam hasn’t topped charts as much as one would think. They’ve never had a No. 1 single on the Hot 100, coming closest when they peaked at No. 2 with 1999’s “Last Kiss,” which told the heartbreaking tale of a man losing his girlfriend in a tragic car accident.

Nearly a decade after the series’ last installment, the Incredibles franchise is set to make a triumphant return with the highly anticipated Incredibles 3.

According to Deadline, Disney and Pixar first shared some early details about the upcoming film at the recent D23 event in Anaheim.

As per Pixar’s chief creative officer and Monster’s, Inc. director Pete Docter, the sequel will specifically focus on the youngest members of the super-powered Parr family, with Docter saying, “it’s the kids’ turn to take the spotlight.”

In addition to some preliminary concept concept art showcasing the Parr family in action, Docter also teased some major plot threads for the Incredibles sequel, rounding out the praised Pixar trilogy in a heartfelt way by focusing on the family’s kids.

“They want to prove that they are ready to be a real Supers, and their parents aren’t quite so convinced,” Docter said. “So they’ve been sneaking out at night to protect the city, and it doesn’t go over so well at home. To make matters worse, they are struggling to contain Jack Jack…”

As for the parents themselves, Docter also shared some interesting scenarios for Bob and Helen Parr, most especially as they experience firsthand the return of superheroes following the events of Incredibles 2.

“A new threat is taking a heavy toll on Bob, who’s grappling with his own relevance in a world of Supers that may have outgrown him,” Docter said. “Because even though Supers are legal again, that doesn’t mean all supers are good.”

Pixar director Peter Sohn will direct the third film in the franchise, with original director Brad Bird penning the movi’s script. Craig T. Nelson will return as Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr; Sarah Vowell portrays daughter Violet Parr and Huck Milner will play the family’s speedster Dash Parr.

The Incredibles 3 will officially arrive in theaters in June 2028.
