Cindy Busby Spills on 'When Hope Calls' Season 3 (Exclusive)

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 1:23pm

Cindy Busby is opening up to Parade in an exclusive interview ahead of When Hope Calls: Brookfield's Season 3 finale on Sunday, May 10. The hit Great American Family series—a spinoff of When Calls the Heart—follows life in the early-1900s town of Brookfield. Busby plays attorney-turned-orphanage-director Nora Anderson.

Nora left her career as a San Francisco lawyer to reconnect with her long-lost niece—Lillian Walsh (Morgan Kohan)—and stayed in Brookfield to run the local orphanage after Lillian left for London. Now, three seasons in, Nora is fighting to clear her name in a bribery scandal involving her former boss—all while navigating her budding romance with Mountie Michael Fletcher (Christopher Russell) and a new love triangle with the town's young reverend, Joshua Daniels (Simon Arblaster).

Busby chatted with Parade about Nora's biggest challenges this season, the storylines she's most invested in, what she hopes to see in future seasons and her favorite snacks on set.

Parade: What can you tell us about the challenges your character faced this season?

Cindy Busby: At the end of last season, Nora finds out she may be implicated in some bribery allegations, thanks to her former boss and mentor. This season Nora is challenged with clearing her name and saving her reputation in Brookfield, while questioning her abilities as a lawyer. Her growing feelings for Mountie Fletcher (Russell) are also put to the test, when he begins to question her integrity.

Do you prepare for this historical role differently than you would for a modern-day role?

With any role, it’s important for me to discover the character and the world in which they live. In this case, I read and learned a lot about the specific societal norms, etiquette, fashion, the law and women during the time. The themes and research are different than modern-day projects, but the process is relatively the same.

If you could be any other character on the show, who would it be and why?

It would be really fun to play Ronnie—the hotel owner—for a day. He is absolutely hilarious, but also a complex character that you can’t help but fall in love with and Neil Crone plays him perfectly.

Kyana Teresa and Neil Crone

Great American Media

Can you reveal something about one (or more) of your co-stars that viewers might not know about them?

Sarah Fisher has a sweet tooth, Chris Russell is an amazing dad, Hanneke Talbot and Kyana Teresa are hilarious, and Wendy Crewson is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

Christopher Russell as Mountie Michael Fletcher and Busby as Nora

Great American Media

What is your go-to snack on set?

Probably coffee. Sounds kind of boring, but I typically bring my own snacks to set. Every so often, I’ll get to indulge in some of the delicious homemade baked goods that the Prop team gets locally made for the scenes in Debbie’s Pastries.

Any particular storyline on the show that you're interested in and are following?

I’m so invested in all of them, truly. Maggie and Sam’s love story is so sweet and charming, Hannah’s fashion designs coming to life and whether she will eventually choose to stay in Brookfield or go back to the city. And of course, Michael and Nora’s love story and how that will continue to develop.

What stories would you like to see explored in upcoming seasons of the show?

I’d love to explore how Nora would feel when a child gets adopted from the orphanage, have Nora and Michael go on a stakeout together and get closer, and see more big group scenes of the town coming together.

What was the last show you binge watched?

Nobody Wants This and Landman.

What is your all-time favorite book?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and The Surrender Experiment by Michael A. Singer.

What's your go-to song to sing in the shower?

“The Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston.

What's your comfort meal?

A comfort meal for me is when I go back home to Montreal and my mom makes one of my favorites—like her lasagna, pan pizza, or waffles with fruit, whipped cream and real maple syrup.

The season finale of When Hope Calls: Brookfield will air on Great American Family on Sunday, May 10 at 8 p.m. ET and will be available for early access to Great American Pure Flix subscribers as of Thursday, May 7.

This Classic Theme Park Has the Top-Ranked Restaurant in the U.S. (And It’s Actually Not in Disney)

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:56pm

Theme park dining has a reputation for being underwhelming, but USA Today 10Best'slatest rankings prove that's not always the case. The publication just released its picks for the best theme park restaurants in the US, and the top three might surprise you. Most shocking? The number one restaurant isn't at a Disney Park—it's at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania.

The survey was conducted by consulting a panel of theme park experts to narrow down the field, then having readers vote on their favorites.

The 10 Best Theme Park Restaurants of 2026

According to USA Today 10Best, these are the best theme park dining options of 2026:

  1. The Alamo at Knoebels
  2. Rivertown Smokehouse at Silver Dollar City
  3. Sharks Underwater Grill and Bar at SeaWorld Orlando
  4. Yak & Yeti at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  5. Das Fethaus at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
  6. Zambia Smokehouse at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
  7. Aunt Granny’s Restaurant at Dollywood
  8. Firehouse BBQ at Six Flags Over Georgia
  9. BackBeatQue at Cedar Point
  10. Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park

Related: 8 Things You Can’t Miss At America’s Best Theme Parks This Summer

Why The Alamo at Knoebels Came Out on Top

Theme park food is notoriously expensive, but The Alamo is known for being both delicious and budget-friendly. It's the fourth time they've won for best theme park restaurant, which speaks volumes about consistency.

In addition to traditional family-friendly (aka picky eater) fare like hot dogs and hamburgers at affordable price points, the menu also includes more diverse finds like chicken and waffles, deep-fried crab cakes, and even spaghetti and meatballs. Its prime location on a main boulevard also makes it ideal for people-watching while taking a break.

Knoebels, located in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, boasts a vintage amusement park experience and is a rare amusement park that's still free to enter (rides require old-school tickets).

The Rest of the Top 5 Will Also Surprise You

Coming in at number two is the Rivertown Smokehouse at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. It’s the second time on this list at number two, and its smoky, hearty barbecue offerings are clearly a crowd favorite.

Third place goes to Sharks Underwater Grill and Bar at SeaWorld Orlando, an underwater-themed restaurant that pairs dining with ocean views and the park's signature marine attractions. It's a unique experience that elevates the typical theme park meal.

The top five rounds out with Disney entries that still scored points with voters. Yak & Yeti at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park claims the fourth spot, offering Pan-Asian cuisine that goes beyond the typical theme-park burger-and-fries fare. And rounding out the top five is Das Festhaus at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which brings German-inspired comfort food to Virginia.

Michael Rapaport Slams 'Summer House's Lindsay Hubbard as 'Overrated'—She Claps Back With Explosive Response

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:45pm

Shots are fired as actor and Bravo fan Michael Rapaport's spicy remarks about Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard set the house on fire, and Lindsay is ready to duke it out with him over his claim that she's lacking a strong storyline on the show.

In the video that started the mess, Rapaport said his attorney “advised [him] not to” weigh in—but did it anyway, claiming her ire toward ex-fiance Carl Radke and his mother Sharon is tired.

“It’s been two years since Carl left you at the altar,” Rapaport said. “Is it time to let it go?” He went on to argue that Lindsay’s storyline has revolved around “Carl, Carl, and Carl,” while also accusing her of focusing too much on other cast members’ relationships instead of her own narrative.

He then dug (his grave) deeper by calling Lindsay “the most overrated person on Bravo,” despite trying to save face by saying, “I know your history. I know you were left at the altar. I know you’re a queen, old Mother Hubbard, young mother Hubbard, whatever you wanna call it.”

View this post on Instagram

But there was nothing he could say to extinguish the grenade he threw.

In a fiery response, Lindsay called Rapaport out directly—and calling her "activated" would be an understatement. “You wanna say something, turn your f—ing comments on. Don’t be a little b—,” she said, escalating the situation into what she framed as a potential “media war.”

Lindsay also pushed back hard on the substance of his criticism, reminding viewers that her life has evolved significantly, which includes becoming a mother. “Did you forget that I had a baby?” she shot back, rejecting the idea that her recent arc has been defined solely by her past relationship. She reminded him, “You’re an old white guy who’s making comments about a much younger single mom.”

She also teased that more context is coming, hinting at an upcoming conversation with Carl that might shift audience perception. “Keep watching,” she said. “You’ll learn a lot.” Lindsay also stars in the upcoming Summer House spinoff In the City, where her storyline will continue past the summer.

Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

Gushers Debuts in Candy Aisle With a Reimagined Throwback

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:44pm

Gushers is officially entering the candy aisle.

Almost one year to the day after the popular fruit snack brand announced it would finally release an all-blue flavor mix, Gushers revealed it's launching in the candy aisle for the first time with a reimagined variety that fans may recall from over a decade ago.

Tapping into the current obsession with super sour, swicy and spicy flavors and marking the brand's debut in the candy category, comes Gushers Super Sour and Gushers Sweet & Fiery.

"Gushers has always been about not taking ourselves too seriously and letting fans have fun with their snacks," Ryan Eick, business unit director for Fruit Snacks at General Mills (the parent company of Gushers), explained in a statement. "We’re seeing people look for snacks they can experiment with, and they’re creating their own sweet, sour and spicy mashups. With Gushers Super Sour and Sweet & Fiery, along with new options across our other fruit snacks brands, we’re giving them the bolder flavors they are looking for."

Gushers Enters the Candy Aisle for the First Time With 2 Flavors: Super Sour and Sweet & Fiery

According to the May 6 press release, the flavor-packed Gushers treats are designed to "thrill the taste buds and ignite social feeds." Both versions are made without colors from artificial sources.

Both flavors are currently available in the candy aisle at Target stores nationwide (prices may vary), and those who've had 'em claim the Sweet & Fiery version is "so so so hot."

Gushers Also Adds to Its Fruit Snacks Lineup With New Lemonade Mix

The popular namesake fruit snack is also launching a new flavor pack inspired by one of summer's hottest (or should we say coolest) classics: lemonade.

Gushers' new lemonade-flavored fruit snacks feature a mix of pink lemonade, limeade, blue raspberry lemonade and cherry limeade flavors, described by the brand as "a tangy-sweet burst inspired by the classic, refreshing drink."

Gushers debuts new Lemonade flavored fruit snack mix.

And as if that wasn't enough nostalgia, General Mills revealed it's introducing new flavors of two other childhood favorites this summer: Fruit by the Foot and Fruit Roll-Ups.

  • Fruit by the Foot Splitz: A delicious taste of peach and blueberry in a dual-flavor, pull-apart roll, allowing fans to twist, mix, or enjoy each flavor on its own for a customizable snack experience.
  • Fruit Roll-Ups Rainbow Sherbet: A trio of raspberry, lemon and orange creamsicle flavors in a single, mouthwatering roll inspired by the frozen treat — no spoon required.

The new Gushers Lemonade Mix fruit snacks and other General Mills treats are available at major retailers nationwide (prices may vary).

McDonald's New Zealand Releases New McMullet Cheeseburger

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:29pm

In the grand scheme of things, it's safe to say most cheeseburgers tend to arrive to our plates without a specific haircut (a sentence I never thought I'd actually ever write).

But McDonald's New Zealand customers arrived to their local fast food restaurant to find a surprising item waiting for them: the eye-catching McMullet burger that's unsurprisingly gaining traction across social media.

Before you begin surfing the web for pictures of this unique-sounding culinary creation, don't worry – the cheeseburger doesn't feature actual hair anywhere in its ingredient list. Instead, the mullet hairdo is created by hanging a slice of cheese halfway out from the bun, resulting in a simple but certainly distinct-looking haircut.

According to Delish, the new menu item was actually inspired by fans' online chatter, with frequent McDonald's visitors wondering aloud what a "mullet burger" might look like. After coming across the conversation, McDonald's New Zealand decided to create their own version of the so-called McMullet burger, launching the meal at the brand's Auckland location for a short time.

To mark the debut of the limited-time menu item, McDonald's Auckland location also featured an immersive festival filled with mullet-inspired decor. If that weren't already humorous enough, the restaurant even had on-site barbers offering free haircuts for anyone interested in obtaining an actual mullet hairstyle.

Additionally, anyone happening to sport a mullet at the festival could take part in an actual mullet competition, with one lucky winner securing a year's worth of free cheeseburgers and free haircuts.

While the item isn't available in the U.S., many people are offering an easy solution for those interested in trying it stateside. All you have to do is order a regular McDonald's cheeseburger, complete with one extra slice of cheese on the side.

Once the burger arrives, simply drape the extra cheese slice halfway out from the burger. And just like that, you have an Instagram-worthy viral hit that also serves as a definitive culinary statement!

Rock 'n' Roll Legend, One of the World's Best-Selling Artists of All Time, Turns 81 Today

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:27pm

Today—Wednesday, May 6, 2026—Bob Seger celebrates a new year of life as the American rock legend marks his 81st birthday.

The singer-songwriter-guitarist, a Detroit, Mich., native known for his signature raspy voice, has become a defining artist of the genre over the years. His powerful blend of rock, country, and soul made him an unmistakable and timeless talent. Seger first broke through in 1969 with his debut album, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man, which contained his first national hit of the same name.

Seger's sole No. 1 hit, "Shakedown," from hit action-comedy film Beverly Hills Cop II, was released on May 23, 1987, making it to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 1 of that year. Though it was his only chart-topper, the icon notched seven other entries on the Top 10, including 1976's "Night Moves," 1980's "Against the Wind" and "Fire Lake," and 1981's "Tryin' to Live My Life Without You."

Related: '70s Rock Legend With a 6-Decade Career Announces Major Update to U.S. Tour

Additionally, his group, The Silver Bullet Band, earned two Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hits: 1978's "Still the Same," peaking at No. 4, and 1982's "Shame on the Moon," peaking at No. 2.

"It took him a while to get rolling in terms of being a mainstream commercial force. But once he reached that point, Bob Seger proved he belonged there, becoming one of the most consistent classic rock forces on the charts in the United States in the ‘70s and ‘80s," American Songwriter wrote of the rock star in 2025.

Over the span of his six-decade career, the artist has sold over 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. Seger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012.

The rock staple retired from touring in November 2019 following his Roll Me Away: The Final Tour concert series.

Happy 81st birthday, Bob Seger!

Now's the Perfect Time to Buy I Bonds (Especially for Retirees)

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:27pm

If you're not familiar with savings bonds, you may be missing out on a slow-growing investment that typically comes with a secure payout. That's because these types of bonds are backed by the U.S. government, and they earn interest during a specific time period.

Unlike riskier investments, it's almost impossible to lose money on an I-bond (unless you forget to cash it in at the right time). And while it doesn't have as big of a payout as some of those flashier options, it's a great way to slowly build wealth without having to do too much. Experts are advising people to go ahead and jump into the I-bond game right now, since rates have started to rise, increasing the amount of money you can make with your investment.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

I-bond Rates are on the Rise

While we all know that inflation continues to rise, USA Today says that there may be a way to profit from it. That's because rising costs of everyday items are also pushing the value of I-bonds up, and the publication says the latest round of these government-backed investments is a whopping 4.26 percent.

That's up from 4.03 percent in the last six months, which means that people who buy I-bonds between now and Oct. 31 stand to make a lot more money than those who have purchased them in the past few years.

If you're unfamiliar with how these bonds earn interest, it can be a bit confusing. That's because they accrue at both a fixed and variable rate, with a .9 percent fixed earnings cap and a 1.67 percent variable one.

Related: The Secret To Boosting Your Social Security Check by 30 Percent

I-bond Rates Are Higher Than Other Investment Options

Currently, you can't do much better than the I-bond when it comes to a secure investment. That's because USA Today says other government-backed options are still lower than the I-bond, like T-bills, which have a yield below 4 percent.

Similarly, CDs, money market accounts, money market funds, and high-yield savings accounts all lag the I-bond in payouts, making them a smarter choice for risk-averse investors.

Related: Why Your Social Security Benefits Might Be Taxed for the First Time Ever

Why Are I-bonds Good for Retirees

With all the different investment options out there, you may be wondering why I-bonds are so much better for retirees than the other picks. The main reason is that they literally cannot lose money.

Since they are backed by the government, they are guaranteed to come with a payout, even if the economy begins to deflate and the inflation rate drops below zero. Another perk? There are no state taxes on the interest for these bonds. Not only that, but USA Today says you can also defer your federal taxes for these bonds as well, often for up to 30 years or whenever the bond matures, giving you a little bit of breathing room when it comes to your tax liability.

But, of course, there are lots of other investment opportunities to consider, especially if you have big goals in retirement. If you're wondering whether or not I-bonds are right for you, you should reach out to a financial advisor to get more info.

An Unexpected Major Airline Ranked as the Best Choice for Economy Flyers

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:24pm

It feels like everything in travel has gotten harder lately. Rising ticket prices, endless flight delays, crowded airports, baggage fees that keep climbing—the past year has felt like one test after another for people just trying to get where they need to go. So here's something that might actually give you hope: airline customer satisfaction has actually risen, according to a new report from major consumer analytics firm JD Power. And yes, one airline is leading the way.

Southwest Airlines was just announced as the top-ranked airline in customer satisfaction among economy passengers in the prestigious JD Power North America Airline Satisfaction Study—a feat the carrier has now achieved for the fifth consecutive year even after making many changes last year—most notably abandoning its open seating concept and doing away free checked baggage.

Related: Southwest Passengers Are Baffled by This New, Weird Takeoff Policy

How Other Economy Flights Stacked Up

Here’s how other major airlines in the economy and basic economy categories stacked up in the survey.

  • Southwest (670)
  • Delta (667)
  • JetBlue (655)
  • Alaska (648)
  • Allegiant (630)
  • American (624)
  • United (608)
  • Air Canada (576)
  • Spirit Airlines (560)
  • WestJet (553)
  • Frontier (533)

Related: New Research Shows Travelers Are Spending a Quarter of Their Travel Budget on Non-Travel Items

What Customers Are Really Looking For

The truth is, Southwest didn't blow the competition away. Southwest Airlines secured the highest score in the economy/basic economy category—670—narrowly outpacing its closest competitor by just three points. That's basically a tie in terms of real-world experience. So what's going on?

From exorbitant airfare costs to long security lines, the past year has been full of travel surprises. Yet despite all that chaos, overall satisfaction scores climbed by 8 points year-over-year, with improvements across all passenger segments, including first/business, premium economy, and economy/basic economy.

According to Michael Taylor, the senior managing director of travel, hospitality, retail, and customer service for JD Power, “Despite many challenges, the airlines returned to basics of passenger communication, friendly service, and providing slightly better value for money compared to past years.”

Basically, travelers are happier with improvements to the foundational aspects of travel, but how long that will last in this economy is the real question. “With airfare prices for some routes tripling over the past few weeks and baggage fees increasing to cover rising fuel costs, it is becoming increasingly difficult for airlines to continue to drive the high levels of customer satisfaction in this year’s study,” said Taylor.

10-Time Grammy Award Winner Speaks Out on Plastic Surgery: ‘I’m so Excited to Age’

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 12:08pm

At 24 years old, 10-time Grammy Award winner Billie Eilish already knows she doesn't want plastic surgery.

In a recent interview on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, the young singer opened up about her opinions regarding Hollywood's current plastic surgery epidemic. When prompted by Poehler to describe her transition from being a child star into womanhood, Eilish admitted that she is excited to age—an increasingly rare opinion in the entertainment indusry.

“I never thought I would not be a teenager, I remember when I was 17, I was like, ‘Okay, I am the person I’ll be forever right now.’ And that’s not how it works, obviously,” Eilish said. “I am so excited to age, and I’m so excited for my face to age and my body to age and not change it."

Not only is the star excited to embrace her aging features as they come, but she admitted that a large part of her decision stems from how she wants her future children to perceive her. “I want my kids to look at me and have my face look like their face and not be some botched version of whatever the [expletive] is going on out there right now."

By "whatever is going on out there right now," Eilish is referring to a drastic increase in unattainable beauty standards set by Hollywood. The singer continues by calling out this fictitious facade embraced by so many celebrities right now, criticizing stars who lie about the cosmetic procedures they have had done.

“It’s just when you deny it and say, ‘Oh, I got this all on my own, and if you just tried harder, you could get it,'” she said. “That makes me literally furious. It is so bad for young women—and boys, too—to see that.”

As of today, Eilish gears up for the premiere of her concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), co-directed by James Cameron. The film will be available through a wide theatrical release on Friday, May 8.

Pop Rock Band’s 1997 Global Debut Was Powered by a Massive No. 1 Hit Single With an Infectious Chorus

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 11:56am

It's been 29 years since Hanson's "MMMBop" blared through our radio speakers for the first time, but it feels like it was just yesterday.

In 1997, three brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson, and Zac Hanson, also known as the pop-rock band Hanson, broke through in a massive way with their major label debut album, Middle of Nowhere.

The May 6 release quickly shot to No. 1 in several countries like the UK, Australia and Germany, though it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, blocked from reaching the top spot by pop superstars, the Spice Girls.

Still, it turned the trio into global pop-rock sensations almost overnight.

At the center of the album’s success was the lead single, "MMMBop," a catchy earworm with an infectious chorus that became one of the defining pop hits of the late 1990s, and remains a nostalgic bop all these years later.

Issac, now 45, previously told The Guardian that they listened to a lot of rock and roll growing up, along with a “lot of doo-wop," which influenced the chorus.

“We recorded it in a one-car garage, put it on an independent album and sold several thousand copies at local gigs,” he said.

While the original version was “slower and more brooding,” it was rejected by all record companies before Mercury turned it into a smash hit.

The rest is history.

In a landscape dominated by teen boy bands, "MMMBop" stormed the charts, with the breakout smash hit peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and staying there for three weeks, while reaching the Top 10 in many countries across Europe.

The song’s success was powered largely by radio plays, though it was heavily in rotation on MTV as well.

The album sold over 10 million copies worldwide and earned three Grammy nominations. And while "MMMBop" remains a large part of the success, the additional five singles were also well received, including “Where’s the Love," "Weird," "Thinking of You" and “I Will Come to You.”

The Governor at the time, Frank Keating, even declared May 6 as "Hanson Day" in Tulsa to commemorate the major release of the three brothers whose melodies reached audiences all across the world.

To this day, Hanson's fanbase remains strong and dedicated, with Middle of Nowhere remembered as one of the biggest debut albums of the era, with "MMMBop" their signature and most recognizable hit.

A quick listen to the single's youthful pop-rock melody will instantly transport you to 1997, as the band was on the cusp of their teen global domination.

'90s Country Singer Breaks Down in Tears on Stage After Crowd's Reaction to Hit Song

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 11:54am

Thirty years into her career, Jo Dee Messina just experienced the kind of surreal moment every artist dreams of — and she couldn't hold back the tears.

The '90s country icon was performing a brand new songSome Bridges ” off her latest album when something completely unexpected happened: the entire crowd sang along and already knew every single word. And they sang it right back to her.

"I was blown away that so many people already knew the words to this one," Messina shared on TikTok, posting footage of the emotional moment, complete with crying face emojis

@jodeemessina

I was blown away that so many people already knew the words to this one 😭😭😭. To have a song you write resonate with people and to hear them sing it back…it’s mind-blowing to me. PS I LOVE the guy rocking it out in the front row 🤣.

♬ Some Bridges - Jo Dee Messina

"To have a song you write resonate with people and to hear them sing it back…it's mind-blowing to me."

You can see it on her face in the video — that split second when she realizes what's happening. The shock. The awe. The overwhelming gratitude that permeates your entire being. Then, the tears began to fall.

For someone who dominated '90s country radio with anthems like "I'm Alright," "Bye Bye," and "Stand Beside Me," you'd think she'd be used to crowds singing along and yes, they do. But this was different. This was a brand new song. These fans had done their research, learned the lyrics, and showed up ready to give her something back.

Jo Dee Messina

"I lost it," she admitted simply.

The fan reactions captured exactly why this moment hit so deep.

"Nothing like having an 'I made it' moment 30 years into your career! I love it!" one person wrote.

Another added: "To see the look of shock and AWE when your fans started singing just shows the LOVE THEY HAVE FOR YOU AND YOU FOR THEM."

Why Jo Dee Messina's Authenticity Still Resonates After Three Decades

Here's what makes Messina different from a lot of artists who came up in the '90s: she's genuinely, authentically herself. Always has been.

She doesn't take herself too seriously. She's the kind of performer who'll call out the guy rocking out in the front row — which she did in this video, adding "PS I LOVE the guy rocking it out in the front row" with a laughing emoji.

She's also fiercely determined. When the industry moved on from traditional country in the 2000s, Messina didn't disappear. She kept writing, kept performing, kept showing up. Now, she's experiencing a resurgence in popularity with a whole new generation, and moments like this prove why she never gave up.

"You will always be one of the greatest ladies in country music," one fan confirmed.

"Some of us know every song your a legend in country music," wrote another.

"You deserved every second of this! You've worked hard for this moment!"

The truth is, Messina is beloved not just because she's talented — though she absolutely is — but because she's real and relateable. She treats everyone with kindness, not just people who can advance her career. She connects with fans like they're friends, not followers.

That authenticity showed up in full force during this performance. The crowd wasn't just singing lyrics they'd memorized. They were giving back to someone who's given them decades of music, honesty, and heart.

"There is something so powerful about your authenticity," a fan wrote.

Thirty years in, Jo Dee Messina is still making music that matters. And judging by that crowd singing every word back to her? She's just getting started on her next chapter.

Newest 'Star Wars' Film Had a Sneak Preview, and the Fans Have Spoken

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 11:39am

Star Wars has been an interesting place recently.

Since the conclusion of the sequel trilogy, all of the Star Wars releases have been direct to streaming series on Disney+. Much of the event presence of the IP has dwindled a bit because of this, with the hype shifting from massive, blockbuster film releases to exciting, weekly episode releases. Shows like Andor, Skeleton Crew, The Acolyte, andThe Mandalorian have been the sole live action output for the legendary film series. Needless to say, the classic format has been missing for a while.

That's what makes the upcoming release of The Mandalorian and Grogusuch a big deal. One of, if not the most iconic film franchises ever is finally returning to the big screen after seven years. We're getting a massive budget, spectacle, and good old-fashioned action adventure for the first time this decade.

At the recent IMAX Special Look event, fans were treated to over 25 minutes of the film in a sneak preview, and viewers were not shy with their thoughts:

"This is the best era to be in as a Star Wars fan," one excited viewer stated.

The first reactions are in, and they're incredibly positive. It seems we're getting back to some of the spectacular roots of the series, featuring adventure and action that draws you in and doesn't let go.

Fans had extremely high praise for the effects, sound, visuals, and action, one fan going as far to say that "it is an experience I have never experienced in Star Wars. Ever."

This is huge for the franchise, which is looking to make a statement with its return to IMAX screens. This move to allow fans to see parts of it early is drumming up some very exciting praise that is sure to bring people to theaters. Listen to some other thoughts from fans in attendance:

"It was fantastic."

"I wanted to keep watching it. It's a 10 out of 10."

"There couldn't have been anything better."

The First Trailer Just Dropped for This New Netflix Series That Could Be ‘Stranger Things’ for Boomers

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 11:36am

Stranger things are in store for Boomers on the brand-new Netflix seriesThe Boroughs, and now expectant viewers can finally watch its very first trailer to see what could be lurking in the shadows.

The trailer kicks off with a panoramic view of The Boroughs, a residential community inhabited by a number of familiar faces. One of them, Sam, played by Alfred Molina, appears skeptical of his new home, but as the video continues, we catch glimpses of the camaraderie between everyone living at the housing development.

"The Boroughs is a good place. We take care of each other, like a family," says Jack, portrayed by Bill Pullman (Independence Day). Geena Davis (A League of Their Own), Alfre Woodard (Radio), Denis O'Hare (Dallas Buyers Club), and Clarke Peters (The Wire) round out the core group of characters, with Jena Malone (Hatfields & McCoys) as Sam's daughter, Claire. Sam's suspicion of The Boroughs and his fellow neighbors takes a mysterious turn as he admits to seeing "things" since his arrival. But it turns out he's not the only one.

So what could be waiting in store for this new group of misfit retirees? As the trailer comes to a close, something scarier than death itself. "The central question of the show is: What will you do with the time you have left?" says executive producer Will Matthews.

He adds, "No one knows how much time they have left. Everyone of every age is trying to figure out what to do with the time they have left. And sometimes that question is inspiring all the things you want to do. Sometimes that's a weight. There's a lot of different ways to face the rest of your life, but everyone is always facing the rest of their life. And that's why it's a show for everybody."

Get ready to see time spent and demons fought on The Boroughs on May 21.

1987 Classic Film Produced in 10 Days Ranked Among ‘Worst Horror Movies’ of All Time

Wed, 05/06/2026 - 11:24am

While some horror films can act as a gateway to the genre, others are so poorly executed that they drive audiences away.

Last week, WatchMojo.com ranked the 20 worst horror movies, compiling a list of the least appealing films ever made in the genre. Ranked among Rhys Frake-Waterfield's 2023 film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey at No. 5 and Daniel Farrands' 2019 film The Haunting of Sharon Tate at No. 3, Lee Harry's 1987 sequel, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 secured the No. 4 spot.

Released in the U.S. on April 10, 1987, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 acted as the not-so-needed sequel to the original 1984 film. The original film was directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr. and was a unique take on the horror genre, taking a classic '80s slasher narrative and immersing it into a Christmas setting. The film's campy nature and utilization of holiday horror elements later helped to define it as a cult classic.

Despite being removed from theaters early due to public protest, the original Silent Night, Deadly Night was a significant box office success. On its opening weekend, the film famously grossed over $1.4 million. In total, the film earned approximately $2.5 million against a $750,000 budget, a feat that triumphed over its sequels by an undeniable gap.

In an attempt to reprise the success of the original, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 was rebooted under a new creative team in 1987. Even though the concept was relatively similar to the first, whatever spark was abundant in the first film was gone by the second.

The sequel was produced in only 10 days, and that was clearly evident to audiences. The new talent working on the project lacked the charisma and creativity to nail an effective follow-up to the iconic original. Due to this, the sequel was a massive commercial failure, only grossing about $154,000 in the U.S., unable to meet the first installment in both box office success or cultural impact.
