In Small Mouth Sounds, six strangers arrive at an upstate spiritual retreat determined to escape their problems, turn inward, and transform their lives in a story with a minimum of dialogue.

After starring with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon in 2004 in Ocean’s Twelve, Roberts took two years off to raise her twins, Phinnaeus and Hazel, who were born that year. When she appeared in Three Days of Rain, she kept her kids, who were 16-months-old at the time, very close.

“It’s heaven truly,” Julia said on The Today Show in April, 2006. “I mean, we were rehearsing one day, and we had just moved into the theater and it was dark out here, and I was on stage, and all of the sudden, I hear, ‘Mama!’ And Hazel had come in and in the dark just to hear this little voice, and it’s incredibly amazing.”

The Oscar winner remembers how husband Danny Moder supported moving their family temporarily to New York City for her theater run.

“It’s a family decision, definitely, we sort of had to agree on it as a family, but I’m lucky, like my kids are here, and you know, they have a little playroom upstairs,” Julia continued.

Small Mouth Sounds will begin previews at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre on February 10, 2027, ahead of its official opening on March 11.

As she looks forward to returning to Broadway, Roberts is also preparing for Ocean’s 14. She’ll reprise role as Tess, wife of Clooney’s character, Danny Ocean. 

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood is giving families a comforting way to celebrate spooky season, and the new Halloween playlist comes with a surprising connection to a legendary horror filmmaker.

The official Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood YouTube channel has released a special “Halloween Comfort” playlist featuring classic episodes, rarely seen clips and archival content designed to help children navigate their fears and big feelings around Halloween.

The collection explores everything from spiders and witches to costumes and not-so-scary monsters, all with Fred Rogers’ signature warmth and reassurance. New and longtime fans can revisit familiar moments while discovering some lesser-seen gems from the beloved children’s series.

The Surprising Horror Connection

One of the most unexpected offerings in the playlist is an episode titled “Mister Rogers Gets His Tonsils Taken Out.” The segment gently introduces children to surgery and what to expect during a hospital stay, but it also has a surprising connection to horror legend George A. Romero.

Long before he became known for influential horror films, Romero directed the documentary segment featuring Rogers’ tonsillectomy. Romero later reportedly described it as the “scariest film I ever made.”

The playlist also includes “Playing Pretend with Margaret Hamilton,” featuring Rogers’ memorable visit with the actress best known for playing the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.

More Halloween Treats for Mister Rogers Fans

In the summer, she says, her father moved the bodies by wheelbarrow. In the winter, he used a toboggan. She was just a kid. She says she told teachers. She told priests. She told law enforcement. Nobody did anything. Then Donald Dean Studey died in March 2013 at age 75, and Lucy Studey McKiddy was left with a story she couldn’t prove and a well on a rural Iowa hillside that she says holds the answer.

That’s where My Killer Father: The Green Hollow Murders — a three-part documentary that arrived on Paramount+ in April 2026 — begins. The case had already taken off on TikTok before the cameras showed up, with the hashtag pulling nearly one million views on the strength of those details alone. And after two digs, one exhumed wife and a sealed FBI file, it’s where things still stand.

He died in 2013. The FBI showed up in 2022. The well hasn’t said a word.

Donald Studey was a farmer from Thurman, Iowa — a small town in the southwest corner of the state near the Missouri River. He was married five times. Three of those wives died by what was ruled suicide — one strangled herself with an electrical cord, one shot herself in the head. Iowa court records show a 1950s petty larceny conviction and a 1994 assault charge he pleaded down to criminal mischief. Local deputies, according to Newsweek, knew better than to visit his trailer alone. Rumors about bodies in a well on Green Hollow Road had been circulating in the area for years before Lucy ever went to police.

When she finally did, in 2021, Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope took it seriously enough to bring in the FBI and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Lucy described her father beating women in the family trailer — mostly young women in their 20s and 30s, mostly runaways from Omaha — killing them and pulling their gold teeth as trophies. She estimated 50 to 70 victims over three decades. She said she and her siblings moved the bodies to a 90-foot well on the property and covered them with dirt and lye.

What Two Digs Found — and Didn’t

Cadaver dogs were brought to the Green Hollow site and alerted at spots Lucy had identified. A deputy found the well exactly where she said it would be. In December 2022, investigators drilled at least 85 feet down and came up with animal bones. That was it. “We don’t even have a bone,” a sheriff’s official said at the time.

The documentary’s production company funded a second dig in May 2025, led by forensic anthropologist William Belcher of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His team brought five graduate students, cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating radar. Five days of excavation turned up no additional wells and no human remains. Belcher and McKiddy agreed to keep searching and to flag anything new with law enforcement.

One thing did shift during production. Charlotte Studey, one of Donald’s wives, died in 1984 in what was ruled a self-inflicted gunshot suicide. The filmmakers worked with her daughters to pursue a second autopsy after an exhumation. A pathologist reclassified her manner of death from suicide to “undetermined.” No homicide ruling has been issued, and a legal dispute over the original records was still going when the documentary aired.

The FBI has confirmed it holds at least an hour and 42 minutes of recorded audio interviews and a 612-page report on the Studey case. None of it has been released. The bureau hasn’t said why. McKiddy’s sister Susan has publicly rejected the allegations, saying she grew up in the same house and would have known. The documentary doesn’t settle that dispute. Donald Studey was never charged with any crime tied to the Green Hollow allegations.

There’s a daughter who says she knows. A family that’s divided. Two digs that came up empty. A wife whose death is now officially unexplained. And 612 pages sitting in a sealed file. Lucy Studey McKiddy says she knows what’s in that well. She’s been saying so since she was a child.

Before Slim Jims hung on gas station racks, bars sold them out of jars. “It was sold at taverns at bars out of a jar,” Dan Skinner of ConAgra told The Takeout.

The man behind them was Adolph Levis, a Philadelphia-area entrepreneur. He dropped out of school in 1929 to sell condiments, spices, and pickled meats to taverns and delis during the Great Depression, according to Mel Magazine.

Levis noticed that bologna and pepperoni were selling well, according to the International Directory of Company Histories. In the 1940s, he and partner Joseph Cherry had a local meatpacker make a small dried sausage, SFGate reported.

The first sticks were called Penn Rose, a blend of Pennsylvania and his wife’s name, Rose, Mel Magazine reported. The name changed to Slim Jim to appeal to more sophisticated bar patrons, the outlet said.

Levis paired the new name with a top-hat-and-tails man holding a cane. He hoped the snack would be an elegant accompaniment to cocktails, SFGate reported.

The sticks went to Philadelphia-area bars first and then to convenience stores. In 1967, Levis sold the company to General Mills for about $20 million, SFGate said.

General Mills later folded Slim Jim into GoodMark Foods, which ConAgra bought in 1998 in a deal valued at $216 million, the directory said. Levis moved to Florida after the sale and died in 2001 at age 89.

He was not the only food entrepreneur to build a business from a small start. H.B. Reese began making peanut butter cups in his basement in 1928, and his sons sold the company to Hershey for $23.5 million 35 years later.

The design also pays tribute to the soap. The bottle is curved like the Original Beauty Bar, and the cap features a sculptural gold dove. Even the price has a hidden meaning: At $19.57, it nods to the year the beauty bar first launched, 1957.

Actress Maya Hawke is revealing something “weird” she managed to slip into the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things.

During the October 22 Hot Ones episode, Hawke, who joined the show’s cast as her character Robin Buckley during Stranger Things season 3, explained that she had set out a goal to say a “weird” phrase or word in each episode.

She recalled that one of the phrases was “Pretty freaky” as an homage to one of her real-life friends.

“I remember one: I had a boyfriend when I was in drama school who is still a friend and who I adore, who used to always say, ‘Pretty freaky,'” said Hawke, before sharing that Robin utters the phrase during the show’s fourth season.

Hawke also clarified that not all of her “weird” ideas ended up on the show.

“One time my character was supposed to have an idea and we were in the basement and there was like all this like gear around and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a light bulb here. What if I picked it up and held it over my head when I had the idea?’ I think that one didn’t make it,” said the 28-year-old actress.

She then theorized she wasn’t given her lightbulb moment because Robin had already acted a little eccentrically in the scene.

“In the same scene, I just slid down a banister, so I get it if they were, like, ‘That’s a lot.’ I was stacking, which unrecommended [sic]. One weird thing per scene, remember? I forgot my own rule,” quipped Hawke.

Hawke expressed her gratitude for playing Robin until the show’s final and fifth season, which ended in 2025, during a January 2026 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The birthday post arrives as Deacon is building his own flourishing creative career. He graduated from New York University in May, with both Witherspoon and Phillippe there to celebrate the occasion.

Deacon has also been developing his music career for several years. He released the single “Long Run” in 2020 and put out his debut album, A New Earth, in 2023. In August, he appeared in modeling photos for ERL, the Venice Beach-based clothing brand. At the time, the images sparked comparisons to his father.

For generations, the old pharmacy at 231 Main Street in Ordway, Colorado, served prescriptions and soda fountain treats. Its next chapter could include a laundromat, an arcade, and a ‘dirty soda’ shop, according to Retro 102.5.

The town has about 1,200 residents and sits in Crowley County, roughly 50 miles from Pueblo, Retro 102.5 reported. Ordway is selling historic buildings for as little as $3,500 to attract entrepreneurs. The mayor proposed the idea.

The price is small on purpose, so new owners can spend their money on starting a business after the renovations. Buyers have three years to finish the work. If they do not, the building goes back to the city.

The former corner pharmacy has already sold for $3,500, Retro 102.5 said. The new owners want the space to be “a gathering spot for people around the community,” especially for kids.

The building dates to 1910, according to Colorado Preservation, Inc.. It has been empty since 2020, when the pharmacy moved across the street.

Its roof is failing, and its brick walls are crumbling, the group said. This year, the pharmacy landed on the group’s Most Endangered Places list at the “Alert” level. It is Crowley County’s first nomination.

Pam Arbuthnot, president of the Crowley County Chamber of Commerce, said in the nomination, “This would be a good beginning to help start the revitalization of downtown Ordway.”

Ordway is not the only small place to land new owners. In 2012, Buford, Wyoming, a town with one resident, sold for $900,000, and its buyers renamed it PhinDeli Town Buford.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could face renewed questions about their relationship with the royal family as controversy surrounding Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., draws fresh attention, according to a royal commentator.

Speaking to Page Six, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested the latest developments could give King Charles III a reason to maintain greater distance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“This may give King Charles III the ammunition to take a firmer stance in distancing the monarchy from Harry and Meghan,” Schofield told Page Six, according to InStyle’s report.

Schofield also suggested Buckingham Palace would be unlikely to comment publicly on the allegations, emphasizing that they concern private individuals rather than the monarchy itself.

“The Sussexes are private citizens, and perhaps it’s time the Palace made that separation unmistakably clear,” she said.

The controversy follows allegations made by Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., who reportedly told authorities that he discovered explicit images involving children at their father’s former home in Cebu, Philippines. The allegations have reportedly prompted an investigation.

Thomas Markle Sr. has denied the accusations, calling them lies, according to The Independent. His daughter Samantha Markle has also challenged her brother’s claims. The allegations have not been established as fact.

Meghan, meanwhile, said she was deeply distressed by the reports and revealed that she had been informed of troubling allegations against her father in 2018.

“I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them,” she said in a statement reported by People.

Meghan has been estranged from her father since shortly before her 2018 wedding to Harry. The couple shares two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The latest developments arrive amid continued scrutiny of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family following their decision to step back from senior royal duties in 2020.

Schofield also pointed to existing reputational challenges facing the monarchy, arguing that another controversy involving people connected to the royals could create unwanted attention.

However, her comments represent an expert’s assessment rather than confirmation of any decision by King Charles or Buckingham Palace.

Neither the king nor the palace has publicly announced a change in its relationship with Harry and Meghan in response to the allegations.

For now, any effect on the couple’s relationship with the royal family remains uncertain.

Zendaya has shaken up this year’s Academy Awards. According to Variety, the actress will campaign for the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance as Chani in Dune: Part Three, the final film in Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci-fi trilogy. Warner Bros. and Zendaya’s representatives have yet to comment.

This campaign marks a massive shift in Zendaya’s role in the first two Dune films, in which she was a Supporting Actress. It also hints at Chani’s bigger role in Dune: Part Three. On the film’s official website, the synopsis reads:

“Dune: Part Three is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Villeneuve’s first two Dune movies were major Oscar contenders, earning 15 nominations and winning eight awards. However, neither film received consideration for any acting categories. An Oscar nomination for Zendaya for Dune: Part Three would be a first for the franchise this awards season.

It would also be a major achievement for Zendaya, as it would be her first Oscar nomination. The actress has already won two Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe award for her performance in HBO’s Euphoria.

Dune: Part Three will release in theaters and IMAX on Dec. 18, 2026.
