The Netflixfriendship comedy from Tina Fey is back for another round of vacations, this time without one of its most beloved leading men.

All eight episodes of The Four Seasons Season 2 drop on Netflix this Thursday, May 28, picking up after a Season 1 finale that killed off Steve Carell's character Nick in a car crash and left his much-younger girlfriend Ginny pregnant. The show, co-created by Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher, follows three couples who vacation together in spring, summer, fall and winter. It is adapted from Alan Alda's 1981 rom-com of the same name.

Fey returns as Kate alongside her on-screen husband Jack, played by Will Forte. Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani are back as married couple Danny and Claude. Kerri Kenney-Silver reprises Anne, Nick's ex-wife, and Erika Henningsen returns as Ginny, who learned she was pregnant in the Season 1 finale.

How the Show Handles Carell's Absence

The writers leaned into the loss rather than working around it, exploring how the friend group fills the void Carell's character left behind. Fisher has described Nick as the social glue of the group, the friend who drove the vacations and pushed everyone to engage, leaving the others to figure out their dynamic without him. Asked why they killed off Nick at all, Fey was blunt about the choice. "We did it to make you sad. Because life is sad," she told The Hollywood Reporter at the May 19 Los Angeles premiere.

The show continues the seasonal-vacation premise it borrowed from Alda's 1981 film, following the friends through spring, summer, fall and winter getaways. Fey also teased that a few familiar faces will make appearances this season.

Kate Gosselin is having a rough go.

The former reality star adopted a Malinois mix named Koda and she's been having a hard time adjusting.

"I was just crying this morning," Gosselin said on TikTok. "I'm tired. It's getting to be a lot, which makes me sound like a baby, but the truth is, I've just been on watch constantly hoping nothing, you know, happens and watching them all the time."

While Gosselin admits she raised eight children and might seem like she should be able to handle a rescue dog, she said she is now 51, "not 29 or 30," and added that “it’s just gotten to be a lot.”

"Koda is a humongous personality," Gosselin continued. "She is now very obsessed with her ball...and she could run forever. So, we're seeing the humongous energy of a malamute now, and I'm really starting to doubt myself."

Gosselin and her boyfriend Steve Neild are also pup parents to a German Shepherd named Meika. Back in December, Gosselin shared the heartbreaking news that her German Shepherd Nanuq had died. In her May 26th update, she said that Koda had destroyed a bed that once belonged to Nanuq, which was very emotional for her.

Many fans took to the comments section of Gosselin's post to send her some uplifting words.

"You aren’t being a baby you are being transparent, and the reality of rescuing dogs and adopting a dog is that it is hard. people need to know the truth when they go to rescue a dog that it is not going to be easy. YOU Are actually doing great thank you for your honesty and thank you for sharing this journey with us," one person wrote.

"You are doing great Kate! It’s like the first couple months after having a newborn, feeling exhausted all the time. Give yourself some grace. It will get better," someone else said.

Gosselin's had a rough few months with her dogs. Last year, while playing ball with Meika, she suffered a severe tibial plateau fracture when the dog collided with her leg.

Jodie Sweetin may or may not know the reason for Lori Loughlin's recent glow-up.

Chatting with Us Weekly at the 30th anniversary celebration of The Abbey in Los Angeles recently, the Full House star was asked about her co-star's new look, and had a bit of an eyebrow-raising response.

"She looks gorgeous, I haven't seen her in a while, but I'm sure she looks absolutely amazing," Sweetin said. "There's nothing like dropping some dead weight to get you back out there looking cute."

While she didn't elaborate on her quip, it's quite possible that Sweetin was alluding to Loughlin's 2025 split with her husband Mossimo Giannulli.

The couple tied the knot in 1997 and share two daughters, Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella, 27.

The longtime couple's separation comes after the two were embroiled in the now notorious college admissions scandal where they paid $500,000 to increase their daughters' chances into getting into the University of California. The parents even went as far as staging photos of the girls on rowers as if they were in line for an athletic scholarship.

Loughlin was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud, according to NBC, and ultimately spent two months in prison in 2020. Giannulli went to prison for five months.

Sweetin isn't the first Full House star to come to the defense of Loughlin. Her co-star and love interest on the iconic sitcom, John Stamos, blasted Giannulli upon the news of their split.

“He's a terrible narcissist, and I don't think you ever get out of that unless you're able to,” he said, according to People.

Stamos also referred to Loughlin as "a saint."

“For 40 years I’ve known her,” Stamos said. “You know, you can see through people after a few years, but this woman’s a saint. I’m just heartbroken for her right now.”

While Loughlin and Giannulli are not officially divorced, the actress is reportedly dating, per Us Weekly.

“Lori has been putting herself back out there after her split from Mossimo and is dating again,” a source told the outlet.

In 1990, AC/DC released “Thunderstruck,” a hard-rock anthem that would eventually become one of the most recognizable songs in rock history.

More than three decades later, the legendary track is once again climbing the charts.

The legendary AC/DC anthem currently sits at No. 13 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart, continuing one of the most remarkable long-term runs of any classic rock song in the digital era.

Even more impressively, “Thunderstruck” has now spent 554 weeks on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart and previously climbed as high as No. 2, making it one of AC/DC’s most enduring modern-era hits.

Part of the song’s continued popularity comes from the way it has remained deeply embedded in pop culture through sports, movies, commercials, viral videos and streaming playlists. Few rock songs from the 1990s have maintained the same level of cultural visibility.

Over the years, “Thunderstruck” has also developed a reputation in Hollywood as one of the most expensive rock songs to license for films and television, a distinction music industry outlets have repeatedly referenced when discussing the track’s massive sync fees.

During a 2014 Variety round table discussion about music licensing costs, music supervisor Thomas Golubic recalled that the 1999 football film Varsity Blues paid roughly $500,000 to use “Thunderstruck.”

“I remember being absolutely horrified when I heard that number,” Golubic said during the conversation.

The song’s massive staying power has also helped make it one of AC/DC’s signature tracks despite arriving relatively late in the band’s career. While many fans primarily associate AC/DC with their late-1970s classics like “Highway to Hell” and “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “Thunderstruck” was released in 1990 as the lead single from The Razors Edge.

The track ultimately became one of the band’s defining stadium anthems and one of the best-selling rock songs of all time, earning Diamond certification in the United States.

Rolling Stone Australia later included “Thunderstruck” on its list of AC/DC’s essential songs, recounting how guitarist Angus Young was inspired after surviving a frightening lightning storm while flying to a concert in the late 1980s, and he played it for his brother, fellow founding member Malcolm Young, and the rest is history.

“It started off from a little trick that I had on guitar,” Young recalled. “I played it to Mal and he said, ‘Oh, I’ve got a good rhythm idea that will sit well in the back.’ We built the song up from that.… We came up with this thunder thing, and it seemed to have a good ring to it. AC/DC = power. That’s the basic idea.”

The song’s iconic opening guitar lead almost sounded effortless in the studio. Mixer Mike Fraser later revealed that the version used on the final recording featured Young playing the lightning-fast riff in a single take all the way through the song.

Over the decades, the song has become almost unavoidable in sports arenas, action movies and rock playlists, helping introduce AC/DC to entirely new generations of listeners.

The newest installment in the Toy Story franchise is coming to theaters this summer. Its main antagonist is Lilypad, a tablet, since all the kids in the film are more interested in their devices than their old toys.

In anticipation of the film, Pixar has just announced that Bad Bunny will be playing a new character. He will be “Pizza with Sunglasses.”

This isn’t Bad Bunny’s first time appearing in a popular movie. He was in Happy Gilmore 2, Caught Stealing, and Bullet Train. In a 2025 interview with Hola, he spoke about his love for the craft. He said, "Since I was a kid, I really liked to act, and it was part of one of my dreams.”

He continued, “When I’m performing in the stadium, everyone is watching me. When you are in a movie set, it’s very personal. It’s like me and the actors. You know that there’s a camera, but sometimes you forget about [it]. I think that’s when you really get into the role and get into the scene and get into the story.”

Toy Story 5 is releasing on June 19. In addition to Bad Bunny appearing as Pizza with Sunglasses, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will be reprising their roles as Woody and Buzz. According to Deadline, some more actors include: “Craig Robinson as Atlas, a cheerful talking GPS hippo toy; Shelby Rabara as the excitable camera toy Snappy; Scarlett Spears as the sweet and shy 8-year-old Bonnie; Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze, an independent 8-year-old girl who loves animals; and Matty Matheson as the tech-fearing toy Dr. Nutcase.”

From the moment I arrived, the resort felt sleek and stylish. The lobby and common spaces are bright, modern and thoughtfully designed. It’s clear the hotel spared no expense in aesthetics. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted me with genuine warmth. When I visited, the resort was new and certain finishing touches were still in progress, but I found that only added to the sense of being among the first to stay here.

One caveat: The resort is large, and distances between villas, restaurants and amenities can add up. But golf-cart shuttles are always just a phone call or personal ask to the staff away. 

The Rooms: Relaxation With A Sophisticated Twist

My suite was a highlight. Spacious, flooded with light and outfitted with modern touches, it delivered the luxury I expected. The bathroom felt indulgent: generous layout, double sinks, indoor/outdoor showers. The private deck overlooking the ocean was a perfect little refuge. 

If you book a Platinum-tier suite, you’ll enjoy additional elevated perks such as personalized butler service, turndown service and exclusive access to Platinum Club amenities including a lounge, rooftop infinity pool, and dedicated dining and bar areas, among other enhanced benefits.

One morning was dedicated entirely to the Spa Princess, a tranquil haven tucked among lush mangroves. I opted for a full-body massage, and emerged glowing, relaxed and ready to float like a feather for the rest of the day. 

For those who prefer a more active recharge, there’s beach volleyball, yoga, water aerobics and non-motorized watersports to keep you moving. I was lucky enough to take a lovely beach yoga session, but if your idea of relaxation is to sweat it out (I see you!), the Mangrove has a beautifully sleek gym well-equipped with cardio machines, weights, mats, towels in addition to private instruction and group classes on offer for guests. If I had woken up in time, I would have caught a group spin class. 

Dining Highlights Princess Senses The Senses Floating Breakfast

Come hungry and you will leave very well fed. The variety of restaurants offered is impressive, spanning sushi/hibachi to seafood, Italian and more. Standout meals that left me delighted were the fresh seafood, both cooked and in raw form at the sushi restaurant. No matter where you choose to dine though, the food is always flavorful and very well-presented. 

Bars and mixologists deserve much praise for their creative drinks and attentive service. Don’t drink alcohol or prefer a sober night? No problem. You can order almost any drink to be made non-alcoholic. A must-try is the virgin mango daiquiri. 

While the resort also offers a top-notch program of buffet-style dining, the food shines best at the à la carte restaurants and in other moments of individualized service. If you go, I’d recommend making reservations early for à la carte restaurants and leaning into the butler services or Platinum upgrades if your budget allows.

But wait, did I mention there’s a 24-hour cafe? With a couple locations in the resort, it is here where you can get your fix of coffee and espresso beverages as well as milkshakes, ice cream by the scoop and an assortment of pastries. Whether you are making a stop before you turn back into your room after a wild night of drinks and partying or if you’re waking up bright-eyed to start your day, the cafes have your back. 

For those who book a swim-out suite, you can purchase a floating breakfast which is the ultimate elevated morning meal experience. You can choose between a traditional Jamaican breakfast set or a continental breakfast spread. 

The Bodies of Water: Where the Resort Truly Delivers Princess Senses The Senses Boardwalk

With multiple pools (some quiet, some lively) and wonderfully maintained landscaping, the pools, beaches and their respective lounges are the heartbeat of this resort. 

I was mesmerized by how the beach is beautifully groomed and intimate in scope, and how each part of the resort looks out to the body of water. The resort offers a wide range of ways for guests to interact with the water, from a good old-fashioned swim to kayaking and paddleboarding. 

For lovers of lounging and light dips and lots of drinks and sun-soaking, the pools (some of which are, right by the beach) are well-kept and inviting with immaculate service. 

If you are coming to Princess Senses The Mangrove with the intention of truly diving into luxury, one thing to consider when booking is the resort’s overwater villas. Hands down, one of the strongest points of Princess Senses The Mangrove is its people. From bar staff to butlers, be prepared to have standout interactions with team members who go above and beyond to make sure guests feel relaxed and fully unplugged from the doldrums of daily life. After all, you’re on island time, the whole point is to take things slow. The resort feels like it's built on a culture of hospitality, and many staffers are genuine and engaged.

And much like any debut resort, Princess Senses The Mangrove was working out small kinks in service and consistency. But the vision of the luxury all-inclusive property is clear: a chic, sensual retreat that blends indulgence with culture and authenticity. Whether you’re floating in your swim-out suite, sipping a rum cocktail at sunset, or learning to sear snapper with the resort’s chef, every moment feels curated for pure pleasure.

Nearly 40 years after its release, Patti Smith's 1978 hit, "Because the Night," has remained one of the most enduring love songs from the rock genre. In 2025, Billboard ranked the song, off Smith's record, Easter, as the eighth best rock love song ever released.

Billboard reported that the song came out of a collaborative effort from Smith and fellow rock legend Bruce Springsteen. While speaking on stage at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Springsteen explained that he had penned an incomplete version of "Because the Night," which record executive Jimmy Iovine requested that he give to Smith. Springsteen said he immediately agreed to do so because he "love[s] Patti." He also complimented how Smith and Iovine improved upon his original version of the song.

"Of course, with Jimmy's guidance, Patti turns 'Because the Night' into a huge top five record. Which is something I couldn't have ever done. Because I didn't have the guts to turn it into a love song, as Jimmy knew Patti would," said Springsteen during the ceremony.

Before a 2015 performance for TheNew Yorker, Smith explained she was given "Because the Night" because Springsteen "was having difficulty with the [song 's] lyrics" around the time she was recording Easter.

"He had a great chorus and a very anthemic piece of music in my key, and he gave it to me," said Smith.

She then said she added her lyrics comparing love to a telephone call because she was in a long-distance relationship with her late husband, Fred "Sonic" Smith, who died in 1994 at the age of 46. She explained that she had been waiting by the phone for a few hours for Smith's call before deciding to work on "Because the Night."

"Bruce had given me this music, and I had sort of neglected it. And so Fred was supposed to call me like at 7:30, and then 8:30 came and then 9:30 and, you know, I was all dressed and ready, you know, for this phone call," recalled Smith, now 79. "And I know some girls would have been cool and just left, but I'm not that kind of girl. I'll just wait and wait and wait, so, I didn't know what to do with myself, so I picked up this cassette that was Bruce's music and I wrote some lyrics to occupy my time, and so Fred called me about midnight, and by then I had written the lyrics."

What would Summer House star Jesse Solomon do if the opportunity to date Ciara Miller ever came up again? Apparently… not give a straight answer.

Throughout the season, some fans wondered whether Jesse and Ciara’s playful friendship could evolve into something more—especially after Jesse awkwardly floated the idea of making out with Ciara to West Wilson before ever asking Ciara out herself.

While chatting with Parade via Ring during his “Happy To Be Here” tour, Jesse hesitated when asked whether there was “any world” where he and Ciara could ever date. “I don’t know,” he admits before doubling down on where they currently stand, adding, “I think Ciara and I have proven that friendship is the most important thing, and that’s what I’m focused on right now.”

So… was that a soft no? Fans may still be trying to decode it. After a drawn-out “um,” Jesse laughed that he “just woke up” before adding that “Ciara is an amazing, amazing girl and I'm hopeful and excited to see her in the Hamptons this summer.”

Jesse took his shot at possibly striking up a romance with Ciara this season, but but the situation became messy fast. Instead of simply asking her out on a date, he joked with housemates about wanting to make out with her. He ultimately had a cringey exchange with West—who was seemingly pursuing Ciara after their painful breakup—about wanting to kiss her. Taken aback, West questioned why Jesse brought it up to him instead of Ciara directly, adding, “I don't think he's there yet, which is why I'm like, why would you bring it up to me?”

When word got back to Ciara about Jesse's intentions, she was confused and hurt as to why he didn’t come to her first because she felt they had a strong enough friendship to talk it out. Plus Ciara said in a confessional, "Everyone knows I'm more traditional than your average girl. And me and Jesse are real friends. So, I just don't understand why you only see me in this light of, like, oh, a good time girl, when that's so not my vibe anyway."

Later in the season, when West and Ciara finally buried the hatchet and decided to be friends again, they jokingly revisited Jesse shooting his shot. “At first I was like, wait a minute,” Jesse tells Parade about watching the moment. “But then I was like they were just joking around so I didn't take it personally.”

Something he is taking seriously, however, is his Summer House Season 11 bedbug status.

“Can I tell you something? I hope I get the master this year,” he spills. “Because I'm friends with everyone in the house. And now are there any couples left?”

Well, he may have to fight KJ Dillard and Dara Levitan or Ben Waddell and Sabrina Belle for the master bedroom, but he seems determined to stake his claim.

“I would love to be in there and then everybody can just come hang in the bed,” Jesse says about how he plans to establish gossip central for season 11. “It's a complete open policy. So yeah, I think the bedbugs will live on in some capacity. Tough to say exactly what it will be. But there will be beds and there will be bugs.”

Jesse also revealed that historically, room assignments have always favored seniority and that “the couples take the good rooms and the big rooms.” He added that he’s always been pretty easygoing about where he crashes.

“There have been some arguments over the years. Some have been shown some have not,” he says. “But I'm pretty easy going, as long as there's a bed, I'm happy.”

Zachary Quinto's Brilliant Minds returns to NBC on Wednesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. ET with the final six episodes of Season 2, capping a series the network pulled the plug on earlier this month. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.

NBC officially canceled Brilliant Minds on May 1 after two seasons, with showrunner Michael Grassi confirming the news to the cast. The show had been pulled from the NBC schedule back in February, leaving fans with a cliffhanger and no clear return date for months.

And while those conversations almost always ended with the unanimous opinion that the SSA would run out of money before I was old enough to retire, nobody ever explained what that meant.

Now, in my mid-40s, I hear people my age talking about the same thing, and it doesn't sound like much has changed over the years, except for the date they think the funds will run out. However, a new study suggests it's not just the folks in my immediate circle who don't know what the future of the SSA looks like, as 64 percent of those questioned didn't understand this key component. 64 Percent of Americans Don't Know What Happens When the SSA Runs Out of Money

When you hear (or read) that the SSA is running out of money, with many experts saying the fund has less than 10 years left, many people don't exactly know what that means. According to a new AARP survey viewed by The Motley Fool, approximately 64 percent of respondents don't know what happens when the account used to fund Social Security payments runs out of money.

Their predictions broke down as follows:

• 34 percent say benefits will be paid at a lower amount
• 36 percent say no benefits will be paid
• 28 percent said that they had no idea what would happen
• 47 percent believe that payments would be cut in half

So who is right? 34 percent of people were correct in their belief that benefits would be paid, but just at a lower amount than before.

What Happens When Social Security Runs Out

According to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, the funds that support Social Security retirement payments could become insolvent as early as late 2032. Meanwhile, the official Social Security Trustees Report places the depletion date just a year later, in 2033. Whichever timeline holds true, the ultimate conclusion is a scary one: if Congress does not intervene, benefits will immediately drop to roughly 72% to 77% of what retirees are currently owed.

That is obviously a daunting reality for anyone currently claiming benefits or expecting to claim them in the near future. However, experts say you don't need to panic... yet. That's because many pros suggest people put more time and money into alternative retirement plans, like 401(k)s and IRAs, especially when they can leverage their employer's contribution or match program. While Social Security has been a lifesaver for so many over the years, it looks like it will only serve as a supplement to other retirement programs for people in the future...

Eva Longoria knows that the majority of her fans know her thanks to the eight seasons she played Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives. And then there are those who are watching it again -- or for the first time -- on Hulu and Disney+.

"Everybody's re-watching it," she told Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner's On Me podcast. "It was like number two the other day on the streaming." Even so, don't expect her to tune in anytime soon to see what the fuss was all about.

'I'm Fine, I Made It'

"I keep getting notifications, like, 'Do you want to watch Housewives?' No, I don't," she said. "I'm fine, I made it."

After telling Ferguson that she hadn't re-watched it, she admitted that she'd actually never watched it. She then claimed that, even though she knew that the current trend is to reboot popular shows from the '90s and '00s, it's never going to happen for Desperate Housewives.

"Marc says no, Marc never wants to," she said, referring to series creator Marc Cherry.

Longoria explained how much longer seasons used to be, with Desperate Housewives averaging 17-24 episodes per year. "There's none of this six to eight bulls--t," she continued. "So Marc's like, 'We fully mined the characters.'"

She then joked that Gabrielle couldn't "sleep with one more person on the street. Like, I literally slept with everybody."

When Desperate Housewives premiered in 2004, the primetime soap opera quickly catapulted Longoria to fame. The series also starred Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Teri Hatcher. Huffman won an Emmy Award in 2005 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Kathryn Joosten, who portrayed nosy neighbor Karen McCluskey, won for Outstanding Guest Actress in both 2005 and 2008.

A New Chapter: The 'Wisteria Lane' Spin-off

A reboot with the original cast may not be in the future, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of the drama-filled suburban cul-de-sac. In 2025, Kerry Washington's production company, Simpson Street, announced that it was producing a spin-off, called Wisteria Lane. Washington gave an update in Dec. 2025.

"We're deep in development right now," she told TODAY. "The thing is, I'm such a fan of the original franchise, and friends with those folks, Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria. So we're only going to do this when we feel like it's really, really right."

Being diagnosed with high blood pressure is a wake-up call for your health. Also known as hypertension, high blood pressure is linked to a higher-than-usual risk of developing heart disease and stroke, making it crucial to do what you can to turn things around. 

Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure, and it’s a condition that requires careful management. “Because it is complex, management often requires a combination of lifestyle changes and medication when needed,” Alison McLaughlin, RD, LDN, a clinical dietitian who focuses on cardiology patients at the Frances Stern Nutrition Center at Tufts Medical Center, tells Parade. Doing things like staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and following a nutritious diet can help get your numbers into a range you and your doctor can feel good about. 

But while there’s a lot you can do to lower your blood pressure, there’s one drink in particular that can make a big impact. This isn’t the only thing you should do to lower your blood pressure, of course, but research suggests there’s something to sipping this beverage regularly to get your numbers down. 

Dietitians are on board with using this drink to lower blood pressure, too. Here’s why.

The Best Drink To Lower Blood Pressure, According to 4 Cardiac Dietitians

It’s beet juice. “Beets are a source of nitrates, which your body converts to nitric oxide,” says Julia Zumpano, RD, a nutritionist at Cleveland Clinic. “That can relax and widen your blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing pressure on your vessels.” 

Nicole Roach, RD, lead dietitian at Northwell’s Lenox Hill Hospital, also suggests sipping on beet juice. "Beets also contain potassium, another blood pressure-lowering electrolyte," she tells Parade.

But while noshing on beets will have some impact on your blood pressure, “beet juice provides a more concentrated source of nitrates,” Zumpano says. Beets are also antioxidants and fiber—both of which also support cardiovascular health and blood pressure, explains Mary Mosquera Cochran, RD, a dietitian at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

There aren’t huge bodies of research to support drinking beet juice to lower blood pressure, but there are a few smaller clinical trials. One 2019 double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover trial had healthy participants drink either beet juice or a placebo beet drink with the nitrates removed. The researchers discovered that when the participants drank the regular beet juice, their systolic blood pressure dropped by 5.2 mmHg on average within 30 minutes. (Systolic blood pressure is the top number in a blood pressure reading, which tells the maximum pressure inside your arteries when your heart beats, per the American Heart Association). 

A scientific review published in 2022 of seven studies that included 218 people found that drinking beet juice led to “significant changes” in systolic blood pressure, with an average drop of about 5 mmHg.

“Among beverages studied, beetroot juice has the strongest evidence for lowering systolic blood pressure with regular intake,” McLaughlin says.

Drinks To Avoid When Trying to Manage Blood Pressure

If your blood pressure is high, your healthcare provider may recommend going on a low-salt diet to try to lower your numbers, Roach says. That’s why she suggests being “mindful” of drinks that contain salt. 

Those can include electrolyte-based sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade, along with some vegetable juices, she says. 

How To Create a Blood Pressure-Friendly Diet

It’s important to talk to your healthcare provider before changing your diet to lower your blood pressure, but most will recommend going on a low-sodium diet, Roach says. The American Heart Association recommends having no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day, and ideally limiting yourself to no more than 1,500 milligrams a day. 

Roach suggests leaning into salt-free cooking alternatives like garlic, pepper, onion, cumin, basil and cilantro, opting for fresh produce over canned goods, and asking for any sauces, gravies or condiments on the side when you eat out.

Zumpano also recommends doing what you can to increase your potassium intake, since potassium can help your body get rid of excess sodium. “Potassium-rich foods include leafy greens, avocado, banana, potatoes, beans, nuts and tomatoes,” she says. 

If beets aren’t your thing, Cochran suggests having other nitric oxide-rich foods like garlic, leafy greens and dark chocolate. 

It’s important to keep an active lifestyle, too. “Regular aerobic exercise can lower high blood pressure by about 5 to 8 mm Hg,” Roach says. “It's important to keep exercising regularly to maintain these benefits.”

Of course, high blood pressure is complicated, and it can be caused by a range of factors. Ultimately, it’s a good idea to talk to your healthcare provider about the best lifestyle moves you can make to lower your blood pressure.

Costco customers in Canada may need to check their medicine cabinets, as a multivitamin sold at the warehouse giant has been recalled due to it potentially containing metal fragments.

On May 21, the Canadian government issued a health recall for Kirkland Signature Women 50+ multivitamins, stating that they “may contain the presence of foreign matter.” The national recall furthermore states that consumers should “discontinue use of the affected product. Consult your healthcare provider for any health concerns.”

The vitamins, made by Vita Health Products Inc. in Winnipeg, Canada, come in a white pill bottle with a silver and purple label. The affected tablets, which may contain metal fragments, were part of lot number 5J46568W7. The Canadian government urges consumers to check to see if their product was affected, to consult with their healthcare provider prior to discontinuing their use of the product, and to contact the recalling firm if they have any questions.

“Costco Wholesale records indicate you may have purchased Kirkland Signature Women 50+ (multivitamin and minerals) Tablets (Costco Item 7013050) at a Costco warehouse or on Costco.ca between February 2026 and May 2026,” the retailer said in a urgent recall e-mail sent to consumers. “Please do not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the Kirkland Signature Women 50+ (multivitamin and minerals) Tablets that are being recalled. You may return the Kirkland Signature Women 50+ (multivitamin and minerals) Tablets to a Costco warehouse to obtain a full refund,” it continued.

The Kirkland Signature Women 50+ Multivitamin currently has an average 4.1 out of 5 star rating on the Costco Canada website, where consumers say it is “the best value in a multi-vitamin,” calling the $27.99 Canadian ($20.26 US) bottle of 365 tablets “very affordable.”

Although Costco in the United States also sells several multivitamin products specifically for people over 50, including some for women, the affected Canadian multivitamin is not available for purchase in the United States. The Kirkland Signature Adult 50+ Mature multivitamin is designed for both men and women over 50, as is the Centrum Silver Adults 50+ Multivitamin. Centrum also makes multivitamins under its silver line for men and women, with more vitamins E, K, B6, B12, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, manganese, and chromium in the men’s version. The women’s version has more folate, calcium, magnesium, and selenium. One a Day also sells men’s and women’s 50+ vitamins at Costco.

Mackenzie Shirilla is making headlines once again after new information was uncovered in a 2024 Ohio Court of Appeals opinion upholding her conviction.

In court documents obtained by Parade, the opinion states that Shirilla sent a text to Christine Russo, the mother of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, who was killed when Shirilla drove her Toyota Camry into a brick wall while going 100 mph.

“I remember turning onto the street, and then my vision fades to black," Shirilla wrote in the text. "It really kills me not to be able to remember anything. I promise you I would tell you. I’ve been asking my therapist why I don’t remember, and she said it’s because of trauma. I’m gonna try to get myself hypnotized and make myself remember."

Shirilla, who was 17 at the time of the crash, has repeatedly said that she doesn't have any recollection of what happened before hitting the wall.

About four months after the crash that claimed the lives of Shirilla's boyfriend and another mutual friend, Davion Flanagan, the then-teen was taken into custody. Following a bench trial, a judge found Shirilla guilty on four counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault, two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count each of drug possession and possessing criminal tools.

Now at age 21, Shirilla is serving concurrent 15-year-to-life sentences at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. She is eligible for parole in 2037.

Shirilla is featured in the Netflix documentary The Crash, which has become a massive streaming hit since its May 15 release.
