Disneyland Just Raised Food Prices. Here's How To Spend Less on Your Next Visit
If you're planning a trip to Disneyland, be prepared to pay a little more for your favorite snacks.
The Southern California resort recently raised prices on menu items across its parks. According to USA Today, citing Disney fan sites Mickey Visit, Disney Tourist Blog and ThemeParkIQ, food prices increased by an average of about 8%.
Here's a look at some of the biggest changes:
- Popcorn: now $7 (previously $6.50)
- Mickey Beignets:$7.49 (previously $6.49)
- Dole Whip:$7.49 (previously $7.29)
- Bengal Barbecue Beef Skewer:$7.99 (previously $7.49)
- Pepperoni Pizza Slice:$9.99 (previously $8.99)
While those increases may seem small individually, they can quickly add up during a full day in the parks.
Fortunately, there are still several easy ways to save money without sacrificing the Disney experience.
One of the biggest money-saving secrets is that Disneyland allows guests to bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages into the parks. Packing sandwiches, snacks or reusable water bottles can dramatically reduce what you spend throughout the day.
If Disney treats are part of the experience for you, consider sharing them. Fan favorites like Plaza Inn's fried chicken, Café Orleans' Monte Cristo sandwich and several oversized snacks throughout the resort are large enough for two people, .
Another smart strategy is purchasing discounted Disney gift cards before your trip. Retailers such as Sam's Club and BJ's Wholesale Club often sell them below face value, allowing you to save on food, drinks and merchandise.
Finally, check Disneyland's ticket calendar before booking. Visiting during promotional periods or lower-demand dates can often save far more than skipping a snack or two.

1971 Classic, Ranked Among ‘Most Essential Folk Songs’ of All Time, Became a Nostalgic Anthem
In 1971, Steve Goodman released his track "City of New Orleans," and the folk song would go on to become one of the most "essential" tunes of the genre. Fifty-five years later, the hit remains a nostalgic anthem.
Written purely as his own simple reflections during a train ride, Goodman describes in detail everything he observed on a trip from Chicago to New Orleans on the Illinois Central Railroad. It later turned into a plea to save passenger train travel amid a changing transportation landscape, as the route was at risk of being decommissioned due to lack of passengers.
"City of New Orleans" was listed among Folk Alley‘s 100 Most Essential Folk Songs of all time, alongside genre staples such as Bob Dylan‘s “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” by The Kingston Trio, “Early Morning Rain” by Gordon Lightfoot, and many more classics.
The country folk track paints a picture for listeners: "They’re all out on a southbound odyssey the train pulls out of Kankakee / Rolls past houses, farms and fields / Passin’ towns that have no name, freight yards full of old black men / And the graveyards of rusted automobiles."
American Songwriter once called it the "masterwork of life in rural America from the vantage point of a train car." In 1976, Goodman told Omaha Rainbow that the song, one of the first he had ever written, actually came about accidentally. “I wasn’t really writing that much before ’69. Some of the first ones happened to be good enough to stick; 'City of New Orleans' was the fifth or sixth song I ever wrote and it was an accident—it just tumbled out when I was riding the train," he admitted at the time, per the outlet. "The whole thing took 45 minutes, I don’t want to make it out as anything more than it was.”
It was included on his self-titled debut album in November 1971, and later released as a single in 1972.
On Spotify, the nostalgic working-class anthem had over 4 million streams at the time of writing. A full playlist of Folk Alley’s most essential folk songs is also available on the streaming platform.
While the original failed to chart, following his own release, Goodman's track was covered by multiple artists—most famously, Arlo Guthrie (best known for the satirical 18-minutes-long “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree”) and Willie Nelson, whose 1984 rendition earned a Grammy award for Best Country Song at the 27th Grammy Awards in 1985.

1985 Rock Song, Written by One of the ‘Best Supergroups’ of All Time, Became a Timeless Anthem
A 1985 track became an instant hit after the supergroup The Power Station released the now timeless anthem, "Some Like It Hot."
By the mid-1980s, with pop megastars such as Prince and Madonna dominating the music scene alongside arena rock and hair metal, the quartet featuring John Taylor on bass and Andy Taylor on guitar from Duran Duran, lead vocalist Robert Palmer and former Chic drummer Tony Thompson brought together new wave, synth-pop, classic funk and hard rock through a single sound.
The Power Station, named one of the "best supergroups of all time" by Louder Sound, released its first single, "Some Like It Hot," a high-energy track that fused funk and hard rock.
Featured on the band's 1985 self-titled album, heavy guitar riffs and explosive drum beats that complemented Palmer's powerful and sharp vocals were a combination that helped the song become the group's defining track.

Even the music video became a quintessential piece of 1980s MTV culture thanks to its vibrant visuals, neon aesthetic and distinct fashion imagery.
“The production is just incredible,” Taylor proudly recalled. “I mean, every aspect of it, going back to Jason Corsaro and the sound on everything, and probably one of the most indulgent in the history of recorded music. Roger Taylor flew to New York to contribute timbales to the song. I mean, how indulgent can we get? In that particular instance, it was worth it. I don't get tired of that song. I'm very proud of it.”
More than four decades after The Power Station released its self-titled debut, “Some Like It Hot” remains a lasting symbol of the supergroup's legacy despite its brief run.

Ricki Lake is looking back on one of the best decisions she's ever made.
The former talk show host, 57, celebrated the second anniversary of her facelift by sharing before-and-after photos on Instagram on Saturday, July 18, while reflecting on her plastic surgery journey.
"Happy 2 year anniversary to me. Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a face lift. Specifically, for those wondering, I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift along with a mild co2 laser," Lake wrote alongside photos from the procedure, as well as a few shots of her visiting her surgeon, Dr. Allen Foulad.
Citing her 40-pound weight loss as one of the factors that motivated her to go under the knife, Lake said she didn't like the loose skin that formed under her neck after dropping the weight.
"Back in 2023, I had lost 40 lbs over the course of a year, and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin," she continued, sharing a few makeup-free selfies in addition to the before-and-after shots. "It was never going to tighten up by itself. I took a leap of faith and I'm so grateful I did."

Before there was Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan was already riding high on momentum thanks to his film screenplays.

Plot details have been kept under wraps since it was first announced in September 2025. But it was just revealed that the film will be based specifically on the Modern Warfare games, Variety reports.
On Saturday, July 18, during a panel in New York promoting the October release of Modern Warfare 4, Berg, 62, reportedly took the stage to reveal the exciting update to fans. Last month, Paramount set a June 30, 2028 release date for the currently untitled CoD film, which is being produced in collaboration with publisher Activision, Variety also noted on Saturday.
As fans can attest, the Modern Warfare games have largely been set in the Middle East and followed Captain John Price and his Task Force 141 team’s mission to defeat terrorist Vladimir Makarov. Kicking off with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007, the sub-franchise storyline marked the first CoD games to break from the franchise’s original World War II setting.

During a July 17 conversation with positive psychology researcher and author Shawn Achor shared to her Instagram, Oprah reflected on what she's learned about purpose over the course of her career. "Whatever your jobs are," Oprah said, "whenever you shift the paradigm of whatever it is you're doing, whatever your job title says, whenever you shift that to service — how do I use this thing that I do in service to something other than myself? For Oprah, the title on a business card matters less than the impact a person has on those around them.
"Whatever your job is, whatever it is you feel like you have been called — or not called — to do, if you shift the idea of that to, 'How do I use this thing that I'm doing as an offering in service to someone?' it changes it," she said. "It changes the way you see it, and it also changes the way the people receive it."
It's a reminder that fulfillment at work doesn't always come from changing careers. Sometimes, Oprah suggests, it starts with changing your perspective.

1970 R&B-Soul Anthem, a No. 3 Hit, Became a Timeless Breakup Classic
Former Motown producers wrote the song "Band of Gold" in 1970 for the Invictus label. Written under the pseudonym "Edythe Wayne" due to a lawsuit with Motown, "Band of Gold" was originally offered to American singer Freda Payne, but she was unconvinced. Payne, almost 30 at the time, felt the lyrical content was much more suited to a younger woman or even a teenager.
After a lot of persuasion, Payne recorded the song. Singing backup on the song were session singers Pamela Vincent, Joyce Vincent Wilson, Telma Hopkins, and Payne's sister and future member of The Supremes, Scherrie Payne. The Funk Brothers provided instrumentals as the band on the track.
Upon release in February of the same year, the song was an instant sensation. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA, a first for Payne, and hit number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the United Kingdom, the song hit number one and spent six weeks there.
"Band of Gold" has been up for interpretation to a certain extent lyrically. The song depicts a recently married woman who sings about how her husband is not able to love her and leaves on their wedding night, making her no more than a "band of gold." Why the husband is unable to love her has been subject to some controversy over the years, with some attributing it to his sexuality or impotence. Certain lyrics ended up being cut in the final version.
Multiple other artists created versions of "Band of Gold" after Payne's version. Belinda Carlisle and Bonnie Tyler both recorded and released versions in 1986, but neither was particularly commercially successful. In 2005, singer Anna Nalick recorded a version that would later end up on the Desperate Housewives soundtrack.
In 2004, Rolling Stoneincluded Payne's version of "Band of Gold" on their list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Gisele Bündchen Shares Rare Photos With Baby Son During Family Getaway to Tahiti
Gisele Bündchen is giving fans a rare look at life with her youngest son.
On Saturday, July 18, the 45-year-old supermodel shared a series of Instagram photos from a family vacation in Tahiti, where she and husband Joaquim Valente enjoyed time with their 1-year-old son, as well as Bündchen's older children, Benjamin Rein, 16, and Vivian Lake, 13, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
The carousel opened with a sweet photo of Bündchen standing in the ocean while holding her youngest son's tiny hand. Although the couple has not publicly revealed his first name, People previously reported that his middle name is River.

The vacation photos come more than a year after Bündchen and Valente welcomed their first child together in February 2025. Supergroup Reimagines Hit Song 56 Years Later
One Tribe Nation, the supergroup led by guitarist and founder Michael Sanders, left a lasting impression after releasing its fresh take on the Black Sabbath classic "The Wizard."
The Los Angeles-based Afro-Latino-Funk-Rock band, composed of Grammy-winning Living Colour frontman Corey Glover, former Whitesnake bassist Uriah Duffy, two-time Grammy Award-winning percussionist Christian Pepin, veteran keyboardist Dave Schulz of Berlin and Goo Goo Dolls, versatile drummer David Cowan and Sanders, delivered an electrifying live performance as a tribute to the heavy metal icons and the enduring legacy of the late Ozzy Osbourne.
In an Instagram update, the supergroup announced the release of the full video of the 1970 classic on YouTube, recorded live at the JAMM Night David Z Foundation Benefit Concert on Jan. 23.
Performing in front of 5,000 people, One Tribe Nation didn't just recreate the timeless track but also showcased its signature high-energy, genre-blending sound, incorporating elements of soul, jazz, funk and Afro-Latin music.

The release of the Black Sabbath cover served as a sneak peek at the supergroup's upcoming album, Estado Dorado.
Scheduled for release sometime this year, the third studio album will feature a mix of original tracks and reimagined covers of Rare Earth's "I Just Want to Celebrate" and Black Sabbath's "The Wizard."
’70s Rock Icon Returns for First Solo Shows In 16 Years
While Ronnie Wood has been busy in recent years as a member of the famous rock band, the Rolling Stones, he hasn't been too focused on his solo work. But finally, after over 15 years, he returned to the stage to perform as a solo artist again.
Earlier this year, Wood announced that he would be performing solo for the first time since 2010 in support of his new release chronicling his impactful career, Fearless: Anthology 1965-2025.
Initially, he just announced his appearances at the Luca Summer Festival in Italy on July 17 and his co-headlining gig with Van Morrison on July 16. Both concerts were significant, as they would be his big return to the stage as a solo artist. But at the time, they weren't officially part of a tour.
But not even a month later, Wood announced another concert. He revealed a September solo gig in Amsterdam, and the show sold out in seconds. The popularity led Wood to add another Amsterdam show, and over the next few months, he continued to add more stops on what would shape up to be his Europe Fearless tour.
The highly anticipated tour includes stops in England, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, France and Portugal.

"I've gathered my favorite solo band together, and we're playing some cross-section of music through the years," he went on, specifically mentioning that music from his bands Faces and the Rolling Stones would be included.

The early performances in July went well, and Wood impressed fans as he played songs he hasn't performed in years to an excited crowd. The successful show only made the hype for his later stops even stronger.
Wood's next show will be in London, England, on Aug. 21. The tour will continue through mid-September, with the last stop in Lisbon, Portugal, on Sept. 14.
Before his 2026 string of dates, the last time Wood performed a full solo concert of his own material was in 2010. He toured to promote his seventh studio album, I Feel Like Playing, which came out the same year.
In between then and now, he has appeared on stage in other forms. In 2019, Wood released the Chuck Berry tribute live album, Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry, which he toured with his backing band, the Wild Five.

CDC Releases Interactive Map Tracking 'Explosive Diarrhea' Illness Across 34 States
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released an updated interactive map tracking confirmed cases of cyclospora, a parasite that causes the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis, after an increase in cases reported across the United States.
As of July 13, the CDC has received reports of 1,645 laboratory-confirmed domestically acquired cases spanning 34 states. The agency said 141 people have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported. The agency has received a total of 6,700 confirmed or probable cases.
Because of the increase in illnesses, the CDC says it will publish surveillance updates more frequently than in previous years while federal and state health officials continue investigating multiple outbreaks.
The agency noted that the number of cases shown on its map is likely lower than the true number of illnesses. That's because some people recover without seeking medical care or aren't tested for cyclospora, while state health departments may also have more current data than what's reflected in the CDC's national surveillance system.
Cyclospora cases typically increase during the May through August season, but officials say multiple jurisdictions are reporting more illnesses than they saw during the same period in 2025. The CDC also expects case counts to continue climbing because there is approximately a six-week reporting lag between when someone becomes ill and when cases are reported to the agency.
The CDC and the Food and Drug Administration are currently investigating several outbreaks to determine whether illnesses are linked to a common food source. One ongoing investigation has linked shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell restaurants in five states to a multistate outbreak, though officials say other investigations remain ongoing.
Cyclosporiasis is caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. Symptoms can include watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, loss of appetite and weight loss. Anyone experiencing symptoms should contact a healthcare provider, as the illness can be diagnosed and treated.
Beloved Metal Band Announces New Album 20 Years After Forming
Twenty years after forming, Oh, Sleeper is finally ready to usher in a new era.
The Texas metalcore band has announced that it has officially completed work on its first new studio album since 2019's Bloodied/Unbowed. While a title and release date have yet to be revealed, the group confirmed that the record is finished, with more details expected soon.
"The new Oh Sleeper record is mastered and turned in," singer Shane Blay shared on his Instagram story.
The announcement marks the end of a lengthy creative process that fans have been following for months.
Back in January, the band revealed it had entered the studio with longtime producer Andreas Magnusson, who has worked on every one of Oh, Sleeper's full-length albums. At the time, few details were shared beyond a studio photo and the promise that new music was on the way. Now, the band has confirmed the sessions are complete.
Formed in 2006 in Fort Worth, Texas, Oh, Sleeper quickly became one of the defining acts of the late-2000s metalcore scene. Fronted by Micah Kinard alongside guitarist and clean vocalist Shane Blay, the band built a loyal following with albums including When I Am God, Son of the Morning, and Children of Fire, earning praise for its combination of crushing breakdowns, soaring melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics.
"We write music for people who want to dive deeper and actually read-into and discover their own connection to the songs," Kinard said in a 2009 interview. "Everything that is written lyrically for this band is showered in prayer and I believe that God has the power to reach people through it… if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be in this band."
After releasing Children of Fire in 2011, the band slowed its activity before entering a hiatus as members pursued other projects, including Blay's work with Wovenwar. Oh, Sleeper reunited several years later and returned triumphantly with Bloodied/Unbowed in 2019, ending an eight-year gap between studio albums and reminding fans why the band had remained such a respected name in modern metalcore.
The forthcoming record will be the band's fifth full-length album and its first collection of new material in seven years. Although the group has yet to reveal song titles or artwork, anticipation has continued to build throughout 2026 as updates from the studio hinted that another chapter was nearing completion.
For longtime fans, the announcement is welcome news. Over the past two decades, Oh, Sleeper has developed a reputation for taking its time between releases while refusing to compromise its sound. With the album now complete, listeners won’t have to wait much longer to hear what the band has created.
Twenty years after its formation, Oh, Sleeper is once again proving that patience can pay off and that one of metalcore’s most beloved bands still has plenty left to say.

1967 Banned Rock Classic, Written on the Way to the Airport, Ranked Among the 'Top Singles of All Time'
It didn't take much for a song to get banned from the radio during the 1960s. "Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen was investigated by the FBI over suspicions that the lyrics were obscene (they weren't). "Street Fighting Man" by the Rolling Stones was deemed too "subversive." And Small Faces' 1967 classic, "Itchycoo Park," was banned, too...for yet another ridiculous reason.
Written by Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott, "Itchycoo Park" was the fifth Top 10 hit in the U.K. for Small Faces and their only Top 40 hit in the U.S., peaking at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January of 1968. By today's standards, it's a fairly innocent tune about skipping school to hang out at the park:
"Over bridge of sighs / To rest my eyes in shades of green / Under dreamin' spires / To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been"
The next part is what got radio stations all riled up:
"What did you do there? / I got high / What did you feel there? / Well, I cried / But why the tears there? / I'll tell you why"
Small FacesIn an interview with Creemin 1975, Marriott claimed the lyrics weren't really about drugs at all.
"The thing about 'Itchycoo Park' was that the era was wrong, and the word 'high' freaked everybody out," he said. "All the radio stations. But that song was real. Ronnie Lane and I used to go to a park called Itchycoo Park. I swear to God. We used to bunk off school and groove there. We got high, but we didn't smoke. We just got high from not going to school."
However, as music journalist Andrew Hickey revealed on the famed 500 Songs podcast, Marriott did admit at one point that substances at least played a role in the writing of "Itchycoo Park," much of which took place in a car on the way to the airport.
“We were in Ireland and speeding our brains out writing this song," Marriott said. "Ronnie had the first verse already written down but he had no melody line, so what we did was stick the verse to the melody line of ‘God Be In My Head’ with a few chord variations. We were going towards Dublin airport and I thought of the middle eight…We wrote the second verse collectively, and the chorus speaks for itself.”
It was actually Lane who wrote most of "Itchycoo Park," according to Hickey, and he apparently wasn't incredibly fond of Marriott's lyrical input.
“It wasn’t me that came up with ‘I feel inclined to blow my mind, get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun/They all come out to groove about, be nice and have fun in the sun.' That wasn’t me, but the more poetic stuff was.”
Despite the initial ban on "Itchycoo Park" (which was lifted after the band gave the BBC their "high from not going to school" explanation), the song was a major hit for Small Faces. Nearly a decade after its release, in 1976, readers of the British music magazine NME ranked "Itchycoo Park" at #62 on a list of the Top 100 Singles of All Time.
As for where the term "Itchycoo" came from, Lane said the park named in the song was full of stinging nettles, while Marriott said they got stung by wasps there.
Either way, pretty itchy.
