Alt-R&B Singer Cast as Jazz Age Icon in Major New Biopic
FKA Twigs is set to portray Jazz Age singer Josephine Baker in an upcoming biopic.
The untitled film aims to tell the legacy of the cabaret performer. She was born in 1906 and grew up in St. Louis before running away. She eventually moved to Paris, where she rose to stardom.
Baker is known for her performance at the Folies Bergère music hall, wearing a skirt made of 16 bananas. This show became a major turning point in her career. In 1927, she became the first Black woman to star in a major motion picture. She continued her dancing, acting, and singing career in films such as Zou Zou (1934) and Princesse Tam-Tam (1935)
Her impact grew beyond performances. The singer joined the French Resistance during World War II and became an important voice for the American Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s.
Soon, her story will reach the big screen.
According to Variety, Twigs (born Tahliah Debrett Barnett) had been in negotiations to star in Baker’s biopic before officially being cast.
“I am honored to collaborate with the immensely talented Maïmouna Doucouré on this incredible project,” Twigs said in a statement on Monday, May 11. “I cannot wait to embody Josephine Baker bringing her fight, her love, her losses, her talent and her heroism to the big screen.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer had her acting debut with the 2019 film HoneyBoy. Since then, she has appeared in The Crow (2024) and Mother Mary (2026).
Twigs’ first album was released in 2014. She is known for genre-bending with her main styles ranging between alternative R&B and electronic. Her most popular songs include “cellophane,” "Two Weeks," and “oh my love.”
The singer is ready to share Baker’s story.
“Josephine Baker’s extraordinary legacy is such an inspiration to me and to so many people around the world. She lives on in our hearts as a visionary, groundbreaking woman whose story is as powerful as it is relevant today," the actress said.
The film is being developed with the support of Baker’s sons, Jean-Claude Bouillon Baker and Brian Bouillon Baker, along with the Rainbow tribe, which is what she called her 12 adopted children.
Maimouna Doucouré will write, produce, and direct the movie.
“Josephine Baker has lived with me for years. Working on this film, I realize how modern, fearless and complex she was,” Doucouré said. “Beyond the legend, I want to explore her contradictions, her wounds and her immense courage, as well as her relentless fight for dignity.”
The filmmaker added, “With the extraordinary FKA Twigs bringing her rare artistry, intelligence and emotional depth to the role, it is a huge honour to work with Studiocanal to bring Josephine’s story to the screen for a global audience: the story of a woman who never stopped reinventing herself and fighting for justice and equality.”
There is currently no release date for the film.

The holiday marks Savannah’s first Mother’s Day since Nancy’s disappearance on February 1. Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31 near her home in Tucson, Arizona, prompting an ongoing search effort that Savannah and her family have continued to publicly support in the months since.
After taking time away from Today amid the family crisis, Savannah returned to the morning show in April, where she was visibly emotional over the support she received from viewers and colleagues.
“The signs are so beautiful. You guys have been so beautiful,” she said during the broadcast. “I’ve seen so many letters, so much kindness. Me and my whole family, we feel it… thank you so much.”
Meghan Markle Shares Adorable New Disney Photos With Prince Harry, Lilibet and Archie
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, shared brand-new family photos at Disney, featuring Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and their children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex. The photos also include Markle's mother, Doria Ragland.
The carousel of photos, which was shared to Markle's official Instagram account, include shots of the family surrounded by Mickey Mouse balloons, walking through the park with Mickey Mouse hats and meeting various Disney characters, including the princesses Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
The carousel hilariously ends with an image of Markle, Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet standing in front of Darth Vader and a few stormtroopers, and it looks like Lilibet was less than enthusiastic about that development, as she appears to be hiding from the characters behind her dad.
View this post on InstagramAs has been consistently true of Markle's Instagram over the last several months, although she is sharing images of her kids, she only posts photos that do not show their faces, with very little exception. In the Disney photos, all the images posted are either taken from behind the family members or obscure the kids' faces in some other way.
This decision to keep Archie and Lilibet's faces out of the public eye has always been in stark contrast to how the British Royal Family typically operates when it comes to press and media. As Prince Harry has spoken about multiple times, when he was young, it was the expectation that he was going to be photographed—something that he has consistently expressed unhappiness over.
With their move to the United States in 2020, the Sussexes were making it clear that they were going to be breaking with certain royal traditions, and among them has certainly been the notion that their children's images should be shared with the public. Archie and Lilibet are now seven and four years old (almost five, in June), respectively, and neither has been seen by the public very often.
However, as Archie lived much of his first year of life in the United Kingdom, with his parents as working royals, his image was much more public when he was an infant.
Who Won ‘American Idol’ 2026 Tonight?
Tonight was the night when the search for the next singing sensation revealed the winner of American Idol for 2026 from among the Top 3 finalists: Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson at the end of a three-hour season finale.
But first, the Top 3 had to sing for the final time on the American Idol stage. They opened the show with a performance of “Champion” by Carrie Underwood, and then each performed twice: an Alicia Keys song, who mentored them, and a song that was a tribute to their hometown.
Then there were the hometown visits: Hannah to Willow Springs, MO; Keyla to Pensacola, FL; and Jordan to Murfreesboro and Nashville, TN.
In addition to the solo performances, the Top 3 and other finalists performed with music stars including Brad Paisley, Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms, Cameron Whitcomb, Clay Aiken, En Vogue, Jason Mraz, Lee Ann Womack, Nelly, Shinedown and Tori Kelly.
The judges also performed: Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood performed “Deep River Woman” by Lionel, Luke took the stage solo for his new song “Fish Hunt Golf Drink,” Luke and finalist Julián Kalel performed “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere” by Dwight Yoakam, and Carrie partnered with Mötley Crüe.
Then America voted, and the new American Idol was named.

Country Star Cancels Upcoming Shows, Citing Mental Health Struggles, Announces Plans to ‘Rest’ and ‘Seek Support’
Being a touring artist is undoubtedly demanding, and after putting his health on the back burner for some time, Tayler Holder is ready to step back and focus on himself.
On Monday, May 11, the rising country star, 28, who first gained fame on TikTok, took to Instagram announcing his decision to cancel his 2026 tour dates.
Addressing his message to his “fans, friends, and everyone who planned to' see him in concert," Holder wrote, “This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but I need to cancel my upcoming shows.”
View this post on InstagramDespite the decision being painful, Holder reasoned that he had been dealing with an ongoing, “constant struggle” with his “mental health.” Those months have caused him to reach his “limit” to the point where he can “no longer” ignore his battle.
“Over the past several months, I’ve been in a constant struggle with my mental health in ways that I can no longer ignore. I’ve tried for a while now to put my head down and just push through this and give everything I have to the music and the people who support me, but truthfully, I’ve reached my limit right now, and I need to take a step back and focus on getting healthy,” he wrote.
He went on to say, “I’m doing everything I’ve ever dreamed of, and I still feel so lonely, still feel so unfulfilled. Performing for you guys is the greatest privilege of my life, and this decision was not made lightly. I know many of you made plans, spent money, and were looking forward to these nights together. And I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment this causes.”
With his time off, Holder shared that he plans to “rest, seek support, and reconnect with myself away from the pressure and pace of touring.”
“My hope is that this break will allow me to return stronger, healthier, and able to give you guys the performances you deserve,” he added. “Thank you for your patience, compassion, and support. It means more than you’ll ever know. Please take care of yourselves and each other. Talk to y’all soon.”
Holder didn’t immediately reveal which dates he would be canceling, as his official website still has shows currently listed. Fans should refer to Holder’s webpage as well as his social media pages for any additional updates.
FIFA World Cup Announces Mexico Performers, Including '90s Rock Band
The FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Mexico City is set to bring together some of the biggest names in Latin and global music, with a lineup that includes legendary ‘90s rock band Maná, Alejandro Fernández, J Balvin, Belinda and Los Ángeles Azules.
FIFA confirmed the star-studded roster on May 8, marking a major cultural highlight ahead of the tournament kickoff on June 11 at Estadio Banorte (Estadio Azteca).
The opening match will see Mexico face South Africa and the ceremony will begin 90 minutes before kickoff at 11:30 a.m. local time. Gates will open four hours early, allowing fans to enjoy pre-match activities, entertainment zones and special activations.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the global meaning of the event, saying, “The FIFA World Cup is a moment the world shares, and that begins with how we open it.”
View this post on InstagramThe Mexico City celebration will feature a wide mix of musical styles, from regional Mexican sounds to global pop and reggaeton. Confirmed performers include:
- Maná
- Alejandro Fernández
- J Balvin
- Belinda
- Los Ángeles Azules
- Lila Downs
- Danny Ocean
- Tyla
This lineup reflects FIFA’s goal of blending music, culture, and football into one shared global experience. The ceremony is part of a larger opening series across all three host nations: Mexico, the United States and Canada.
FIFA noted that the ceremonies will “bring together music, culture and football in a way that reflects both the individuality of each nation and the unity that defines this tournament.”
Among the biggest names in the lineup is Maná, the iconic Mexican pop-rock band formed in 1981. Known for their global success and influence in Latin rock, Maná has sold over 45 million records worldwide and is considered one of the most successful Latin American bands of all time.
The group—led by vocalist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex González, bassist Juan Calleros, and guitarist Sergio Vallín, rose to international fame with hits like “Oye Mi Amor,” “Rayando el Sol” and “Vivir Sin Aire.”
Maná’s inclusion in the World Cup ceremony adds a nostalgic ‘90s rock presence to an event otherwise filled with modern global pop and urban music stars.
The Mexico City ceremony will serve as the first of three coordinated celebrations across North America. After Mexico’s kickoff, Toronto and Los Angeles will host their own opening shows in the following days.
Each ceremony will begin 90 minutes before match kickoff and is designed as part of a shared creative theme, while still highlighting each host nation’s identity. In Mexico, the concept will feature traditional cultural elements such as papel picado, a decorative art form representing celebration and heritage.
The tournament itself will be the largest World Cup ever held, featuring 104 matches across 16 host cities in Mexico, the United States and Canada. The final will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey.

What Were the Challenges on 'Top Chef' Season 23 Episode 10?The Quickfire Challenge this week was the iconic mise en place race. The first part was a team event (first team to 3 wins would win) where the winning team's members got the chance to cook for the individual win. Laurence, as the winner of last week's elimination challenge, got a fast-pass to the individual portion. The teams were:
Team Blue: Sherry, Jonathan and Anthony
Team Red: Sieger, Duyen and Rhoda
The rounds were:
- Seed and peel a pint of Scuppernong grapes (the state fruit of North Carolina. The teams put up Jonathan vs Sieger, with Jonathan winning, though Sieger could've called check and possibly been ruled that he had completed a full pint and he didn't.
- Peel and de-vein 12 shrimp. The teams put up Duyen vs Sherry, with Duyen winning, so the teams were tied 1-1.
- Crack and pick an ounce of pecans. The teams put up Jonathan vs Sieger again, with Sieger winning, though Jonathan could have called check and wasn't paying attention to the scale.
- Shuck and kernel five ears of corn. The teams put up Anthony vs Rhoda, with Rhoda winning, which means the team race is over.

The individual challenge was that they could cook any dish they wanted, but it had to feature the four items they just worked with (grapes, shrimp, pecans and corn) and they only had 20 minutes. The favorite dishes were Duyen's soup and Rhoda's salad, with the winner declared Rhoda for her first Quickfire win and $10,000.
The Elimination Challenge tasked the chefs with having a fishing derby since Green Pond landing is the site of the annual Bassmaster Classic. They got 60 minutes to catch fish, with advantages being awarded for smallest fish, largest fish and total caught. They also were given a few fish from professional anglers so that they would have fish to prepare for the challenge in case they came up completely empty during their fishing derby.
Related: ‘Tournament of Champions’ VII Finale Live Updates: And the Winner Is…
The advantages went to:
- Smallest fish: Duyen, who earned an extra $5 for shopping
- Most caught: Duyen, who earned an extra $50 for shopping
- Largest fish: Jonathan, who earned 30 extra minutes of cook time
The chefs who didn't catch any fish got three spotted bass from their professional anglers. And Duyen had so much extra money that she actually purchased a few ingredients for her competitors with the money she didn't need.
The top dishes went to Rhoda, Anthony, Jonathan and Laurence, with the winning dish going to Laurence (AGAIN) for his Cantonese steamed fish with ginger, scallions, fried leeks, rice and bok choy.

The bottom dishes were from Duyen and Sieger, with Duyen being sent home for her severely undercooked fish. She prepared "Canh Chua," which is a Vietnamese hot and sour soup with fish, pineapple, tomatoes and bok choy.
It's a bit shocking to see her go, she's been such a strong competitor. I'm super bummed that she's out of the competition, I really like Duyen.
Next week: It's Swamp Rabbit Trail time and Sherry and Tom Colicchio might be butting heads.
Top Chef airs Monday nights at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.

1966 Pop Hit That Topped the Charts for Seven Weeks Was First Written With a Country Music Legend in Mind
One of the catchiest pop hits of the 1960s wasn't originally meant for the made-for-TV band that turned it into a No. 1 smash. Neil Diamond wrote "I'm a Believer" while working at music publisher Sunbeam Music in 1966 and first envisioned country star Eddy Arnold recording it.
Neil Diamond's Country VisionIn 1966, Diamond was a working New York songwriter on the verge of his own solo breakthrough. His single "Cherry, Cherry" reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1966, introducing him to a wider audience as a performer. Around that time, he wrote "I'm a Believer" with Eddy Arnold, the country crooner behind hits like "Make the World Go Away," in mind.
From Sunbeam Music to The MonkeesDon Kirshner, the music supervisor for the made-for-TV band The Monkees, had a different plan. He brought the song to the group, who recorded it with producer Jeff Barry and Micky Dolenz on lead vocals. The made-for-TV pop band, formed for the NBC sitcom that premiered in September 1966, was already a chart force by the time the single dropped.
A Seven-Week No. 1 RunReleased in November 1966, "I'm a Believer" was certified platinum within two days and racked up more than 1 million advance orders. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending Dec. 31, 1966, and stayed at No. 1 for seven weeks. It went on to become the biggest-selling single of 1967, eventually moving more than 10 million copies worldwide.
Diamond released his own version on his 1967 album Just for You, the same year The Monkees' recording finished its run atop the chart. The song has since been covered by acts across genres and reentered the Top 10 decades later through a famous animated-film cover.
1992 Top-Ranked Video Game's Realistic Graphics Sparked Political Debate
Video games these are realistic beyond our wildest dreams — although fans have been saying that about next-gen releases for decades.
Take Mortal Kombat, for example. When the original installment was released in 1992, gamers far and wide praised the fighting game for its incredible realistic depictions of violence and fatalities.
The launch of Mortal Kombat for home consoles by Acclaim Entertainment was one of the largest video-game launches of all time. All four home versions — SNES, Genesis, Game Boy and Game Gear — were released on September 13, 1993, otherwise known as "Mortal Monday."
View this post on InstagramIn fact, the ultimately controversial release ultimately caught the eye of U.S. politicians. According to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Senator Joe Lieberman put together a case presented to the media in 1993 arguing that the lack of regulation of the video game industry — particularly how easy it was for children to access violent video games like Mortal Kombat — opened the door for dire consequences in child development.
The result of the new-found media attention surrounding video games was the implementation of the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) in 1994. As gamers might well known, it was designed to not only rate video games from “Early Childhood” and “Everyone” to “Mature” and “Adults Only 18+," but also provide advertising guidelines for how particular games should be marketed through media channels.
More than 30 years later, the live-action Mortal Kombat film franchise is still going strong, with the sequel currently competing with another follow-up — The Devil Wears Prada 2 — at the box office. While the Meryl Streep starrer still led the charge this past weekend with $43 million, Mortal Kombat II launched impressively with $40 million, Variety reports. The R-rated fighting movie has a 65% average critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes average and “B” grade on CinemaScore exit polls.
1978 One-Hit Wonder Ranked as Having the 'Best Opening Line in a Song' Was Written in 15 Minutes
Years after his death, Warren Zevon was described by Bob Dylan as a "musician's musician" (and a "tortured" one at that). Dylan's admiration for Zevon is so great that he's even covered some of the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's songs live, including ”Accidentally Like a Martyr," "Lawyers, Guns and Money" and "Mutineer" — but he apparently never performed his own version of Zevon's biggest hit of all time, "Werewolves of London."
Interestingly enough, Zevon himself was surprised when "Werewolves of London" was a huge success. As George Plasketes wrote in Warren Zevon: Desperado of Los Angeles, the song started out as a joke: After watching the 1935 movie Werewolf of London on late-night TV, Phil Everly suggested Zevon write a song inspired by the film. Zevon took the idea to LeRoy Marinell and Waddy Wachtel, both members of his band, and the trio wrote "Werewolves of London" together in a 15-minute session.
Zevon, who later called the track a "dumb song for smart people," didn't want "Werewolves of London" released as the debut single from his 1978 album, Excitable Boy, but the record label insisted...and the decision paid off.
"Werewolves of London" (which happens to feature Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood and John McVie on drums and bass, respectively) became Zevon's only top 40 hit, peaking at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2004, BBC Radio 2 listeners ranked the track as having the "best opening song line" of all time:
"I saw werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand / Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain / He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fooks / For to get a big dish of beef chow mein"
Warren Zevon thought of 'Werewolves of London' as a sort of 'novelty' songYears later, Zevon called "Werewolves of London" a novelty song, but "not a novelty the way, say, Steve Martin's 'King Tut' is a novelty."
He also took issue with the public perception that "Werewolves of London" was massively successful, saying, "I don’t think it was as big a hit as people think it was."
"People remember it from year to year more — it’s been in movies and it gets trotted out regularly — but it’s not as if it sold four million copies, like a Paula Abdul single, you know what I mean?" Zevon quipped.
It might not be "Opposites Attract," but "Werewolves of London" is definitely one of the funniest and most beloved songs in rock history.
Nancy Guthrie Update: Brian Entin Addresses 'Twist' in Case
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing for 100 days—and reporter Brian Entin just addressed a "twist" in the investigation.
On Monday, May 11, the NewsNation senior national correspondent shared the latest on Nancy's case on Brian Entin Investigates, in an episode titled, "Another twist in Nancy Guthrie investigation—are they really getting closer? Day 100."
Entin referenced a recent video published by Fox News Digital, during which a reporter asked Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos for an update on the 84-year-old's case outside the sheriff's department.
He recounted, "They asked, 'Are you any closer to solving the case?' and it was kind of like an awkward moment, an awkward exchange, but he responded, 'We are.' And then he got into his Corvette, and he drove off."
Entin then revealed, "I thought that was interesting because my sources close to the investigation, sadly, have been telling me that they are not much closer in terms of solving the case."
Additionally, he pointed out, "Now, that doesn't mean they're not doing a ton of work behind the scenes, I mean, just like working all day, every day, tracking down every possible tip. But I don't get the sense that, from my sources, that they're getting much closer."
Related: Today Co-Anchor Savannah Guthrie to Host New Show
To conclude his thoughts on the topic, Entin acknowledged, "Again, there are still tips coming in every day. There were thousands and thousands of tips initially, and more tips that come in. And it's not a cold case, but it's just interesting that the sheriff said that they're getting closer. That's not exactly what I'm hearing."
He added, "Hopefully, that changes. I mean, it can literally change in a second. DNA evidence, a hot tip could come in—it could change all of that."
Later in the episode, Entin also addressed the Pima County Supervisors Board's push to remove Nanos from office.
Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills residence on the evening of Jan. 31, with her family reporting her missing on Feb. 1. Since then, the FBI released video and still images of a masked man on Nancy’s front porch, and Savannah offered a $1 million reward. No suspect has been named, as of writing.

Each planter box also includes a leak-resistant liner, which helps with drainage while protecting the wood from excess moisture over time. There’s also a built-in rear storage shelf that holds up to 22 pounds, giving you an easy spot to keep everyday gardening essentials nearby while you work.
Made from natural pine, it has a simple, rustic look, but feel free to paint it in another color to better match your space or style. While it’s designed for outdoor use, it also works well indoors in a sunroom or kitchen.
Walmart shoppers have given this planter strong reviews. One called it “perfect for flowers” and said it’s also suitable for lettuce, spinach, and herbs. Others pointed to the “sturdy” build quality as a standout feature. One shopper wrote, “Definitely nice quality wood. Smells of fresh cedar.”

Booktok Darling’s Romantasy TV Series Adaptation Is Officially Moving Forward — And It’s Found Its Streaming Home
It was just earlier this month when Rebecca Yarros delivered some exciting news about her Fourth Wing adaptation. The script looked great, and she was excited to see how that would develop into a TV series. For many, the biggest question was whether the adaptation would find a home.
With Michael B. Jordan and Amazon MGM Studios behind the adaptation, it was always expected to head to Prime Video. However, we were just waiting for confirmation, and that came during the Amazon Upfronts.
Prime Video Orders ‘Fourth Wing’ by Rebecca Yarros to SeriesThe Amazon streamer, which is the home of other major fantasy adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and the unfairly canceled The Wheel of Time, shared the update that Fourth Wing is officially picked up to series. It’s just the next stage in the adaptation process, and while plans can fall through at this point, they’re less likely to.
Not only did Jordan announce that Amazon had picked up the series, he also introduced his fellow executive producer, Lisa Joy, who will direct the first episode. Meredith Averill will be the showrunner on the series.
When speaking about Fourth Wing, Deadlinereports that Averill shared that, “Rebecca’s books have become one of the fastest-selling franchises of the 21st century, with a fandom so passionate, so devoted, they don’t just read these books, they live in them, and it’s because Fourth Wing is everything at once.”
She continued with, “The emotional stakes are sky high, the battles are epic, power dynamics are thrilling, and underneath it is so much humor and heart and a romance that will consume you.”
Adapting the Entire ‘Empyrean’ Book SeriesThe plan is to adapt the entire Empyrean series, which currently has three books published. While fans had hoped that the fourth book would be released in September 2026, Yarros has made it clear that it won’t happen.
She wrote for 12 to 15 hours a day on the third book, Onyx Storm, and that led to her missing out on a lot of other parts of her life. To allow for that, it means reducing her writing time to just eight hours a day.
She has also been working on another novel, Peculiar Stars, which is set in another universe compared to the Empyrean series. Yarros has described her new book, which will release on November 17, 2026, as a “castaway romance.” It follows Callista, a woman who ends up stranded on a deserted island with her cousin’s fiance for more than 500 days.
The delay for the book could be a good thing, as it will allow Jordan and his team time to craft the TV show in full. Each season — should it get renewed — will follow each subsequent book, meaning the second season will follow Iron Flame.
There is no word on when the Fourth Wing TV series will be ready. The scripts are being written, but casting needs to happen.
’70s Rock Band, With No. 1 Hit, Ranked Among 'Best Supergroups' of All Time
More than five decades after dominating the airwaves, legendary rock band Bad Company continues to earn recognition as one of the greatest supergroups of all time.
Long before modern megabands such as Audioslave, The Winery Dogs and others, the English rock band, formed in the early 1970s, consisted of an “all-star team” of members with the original lineup consisting of Paul Rodgers on lead vocals, keyboards and rhythm guitar, Mick Ralphs on lead guitar, Simon Kirke on drums and Boz Burrell on bass guitar.
Despite being members of other successful British bands such as Free, Mott the Hoople and King Crimson, the quartet joined forces as they carved out a lasting legacy in the music scene.
Years later, Bad Company still holds a lasting influence, earning a place on Rolling Stone’s list of the “10 Best Supergroups.”

The rankings were based on readers’ votes, with fans selecting their top supergroups of all time.
Landing in the top 5 were Traveling Wilburys, Cream, Temple of the Dog, Them Crooked Vultures and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
As for Bad Company, the quartet secured the 10th spot.
Known for defining the 1970s sound with a "stripped-down" style of music, the band stood out with its unique blend of hard rock, blues and soul.
Throughout its successful music career, Bad Company released notable signature songs such as "Feel Like Makin' Love," "Can't Get Enough,” which was their biggest international hit, "Good Lovin' Gone Bad" and the title track "Bad Company.”
Although the supergroup had a string of hit singles to its name, Bad Company never landed a No. 1 song on the Billboard charts.
However, they still proved to be a commercial powerhouse by reaching No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 with their self-titled album in September 1974.
Bad Company Vocalist Reveals Challenging Part of Writing JourneyCreating such iconic hit songs was never truly a walk in the park, as Rodgers shared in an interview with Uncut in 2016.
“It’s hard to sit down and write a song specifically to translate into large stadiums,” the frontman admitted. “Sometimes it just happens.”
As for Ralphs, he reflected on the group’s early years in the music industry, noting that their sudden rise to stardom felt both exciting and overwhelming.
“The first few years were amazing, because we had a lot of quite sudden success,” the lead guitarist shared, adding, “But it’s only in later years, when you look back and reflect on it, that you realise what a nice time it was, because it was all happening so fast. We all did everything together, we lived together and played together, worked together, hung out together, as bands should do.”
Following their legacy in music, Bad Company was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.
The supergroup was inducted by Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood, who described Rodgers as the "north star" for rock vocalists.

I Tried Summer Fridays' Best-Selling Beauty Products for 30 Days—Here Are the 4 Favorites I'd Buy Again
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
When Summer Fridays first entered the beauty scene in 2018, I remember thinking, "Wow, what a great brand name." Those two simple words represent such a visceral feeling of freedom, sunshine, possibility and excitement. But does the brilliant marketing hold up to its promise?
The brand was founded by two influencers, Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland from Southern California, who wanted to create clean and sustainable beauty. The products are cruelty-free, vegan and formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. The packaging aims to be sustainable, using recycled plastic, aluminum and glass where possible, and you can recycle your empties by sending them back to the company in exchange for a gift card towards their products.
Over the past eight years, Summer Fridays has grown significantly. They now have over 20 makeup and skincare products, ranging from retinol night cream to fun lip balms. As Parade's Beauty Editor, I decided to put some of their best-sellers and new launches to the test to see what is truly innovative, effective and worth buying.
How I Tested Summer Fridays BeautyAfter getting 11 Summer Fridays products, I tried the popular makeup and skincare for a month so I could spotlight the true standouts. I was searching for feel-good, but effective formulas that you want to use daily and are worthy of their viral, cult-favorite status.
These are the products I tested:
- Lip Butter Balm
- Dream Lip Oil
- Jet Lag Mask
- Gentle Reset Exfoliating Pads
- Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream
- Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum
- CC Me Serum with Vitamin C + Niacinamide
- SoftLine Lip Liner

4 Best Summer Fridays Products Worth Every Penny1. Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream, $44Sheila Baylis
Shop It at Summer FridaysAn eye cream with vitamin C is such a good idea (especially for those of us with darkness under the eyes) since it's one of the top brightening ingredients. And yet, it's not a common element in everyday eye creams.
Eye creams that do have vitamin C are typically more expensive than this one (some of them much more), and though it's mid-priced it has a lovely look and feel that makes me want to put it on each morning. I've encountered several vitamin C products that cause a stinging sensation, but this one has no sting and feels hydrating.
I would recommend using this product in the morning only if you put on retinol at night, since mixing the two can cause irritation and increase sun sensitivity.
I've noticed the skin under my eyes feels softer and more hydrated, but I haven't noticed a lightening of the dark shadows just yet. (They are very stubborn.) I feel like an eye cream with vitamin C is such a good match for me, I plan to keep using it and restock to see if my dark circles ease up. For now, I'm using a good neutralizer and concealer to cover them.

2. CC Me Serum with Vitamin C + Niacinamide, $68Sheila Baylis
Shop It at Summer FridaysI usually have to force myself to put on vitamin C serum in the morning, which I feel I have to do since every dermatologist I've ever interviewed recommends it as part of an anti-aging morning routine, but applying this one is a pleasure.
A lot of vitamin C serums are very runny, which is some people's preference, but if you like something a bit thicker, this could be the serum for you. I loved the slightly heavier texture along with the light, fresh scent. I also enjoy the bright and happy packaging that truly emanates Summer Friday vibes.
I noticed a slight, not significant improvement in my skin tone, but experts have told me a month usually isn't long enough to have a big transformation with any active ingredient. Since I like the product so much, I don't think it will be a problem to keep up the routine.

3. Dream Lip Oil, $26Sheila Baylis
Shop It at Summer FridaysI know everyone on social media is crazy about the Lip Butter Balm, but I actually preferred the lip oil. Again, it's probably a personal preference as far as texture, but I like oils for hydration, and this one includes a combination of nine plant-based oils along with vitamin E.
It's also very shiny but not sticky, which is a hard-to-find combination, and the shades are beautiful. I'm a big fan of using it with my next pick, and the two together are my current go-to lip combination.
4. Flushed Lip Stain, $22Sheila Baylis
Shop It on Summer FridaysI love that this lip stain is in pen format, so it's basically a marker for your lips. It's so fun to use and and very-long wearing—it lasted all day for me through eating and drinking— I want one in every shade. The downside is you need to work quickly and get it right on the first try if you don't want to cleanse and start over, because once it's on, it's on.
It's a great choice if you want a fuller lip that won't feather or bleed. Use it on bare lips to get the full-stain effect and then you can layer on other lip products. I use it lightly and just where I want to add fullness. I am turning 50 next month, so it's not a good idea for me to line my lips all the way around. It makes me very frowny. So I just used it at the cupid's bow and on the center of the bottom lip, and then applied the lip oil over the lips on top. This is a natural look, but you could definitely go full-glam by lining the whole lip (if that works on you!) and even filling it in and then putting a lipstick and then a gloss on top.
The website provides a smart reminder to store the pencil tip-side down with the cap tightly closed. It really is like an art marker, so doing this will keep color in the tip and prevent it from getting dry.

Final Thoughts on Summer FridaysYou really can't go wrong with Summer Fridays. Many of the products I tried were excellent, but the market is so saturated with beautiful products, especially moisturizers and retinol night creams, so it's rare to find a true standout.
The Jet Lag Mask and Lip Butter Balm are fan favorites for a reason—they are good products and the lip balm flavors are fun and collectable. I also really liked the Gentle Reset Exfoliating Pads and would consider buying them again if they weren't individually wrapped. Although great for travel, it's a lot of packaging for 30 pads, even though they are using more sustainable materials.
I think it's fair to say the brand lives up to it's carefree California-girl marketing, and the price point is good for the high quality you're getting. I hope to see more great launches from them in the future.
