Popular '90s Rock Band Quietly Disappears From Kid Rock's Music Festival Lineup

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:59pm

Beloved '90s rock band Creed quietly disappeared from the lineup of Kid Rock's upcoming Rock The Countrymusic festival, and fans are taking notice on Feb. 6. Shinedown and Ludacris also cancelled their planned appearances for the seven-stop run across seven states, scheduled to begin in May 2026.

While neither Kid Rock nor Creed, which features current members Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, and Brian Marshall, has acknowledged the "Higher" performers dropping out of the event, fans noticed their absence from the lineup on the Rock The Country website, though they previously appeared as headliners on a graphic from January.

The "One Last Breath" artists were set to appear at the Anderson, SC, stop of the limited tour, but the entire event for that weekend has since been cancelled, as Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns told WYFF4 on Feb. 6. No specific reason for the cancellation was given.

While Creed has been mum about the situation, 2000s rock band Shinedown was clear about their reasons for dropping out of the event in a statement released on Feb. 6.

"SHINEDOWN is everyone's band. We feel that we have been given a platform to bring all people together through the power of music and song," they wrote. "Our purpose is to unite, not divide... we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock The Country festival."

"We do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division," they added. The move gained them both praise and criticism, with one fan in the comments saying, "So thankful to read this. This is definitely the men I have supported," while another said, "It's a shame nobody can leave politics out of music."

Rapper Ludacris has also disappeared from the bill, but he has not made a statement as to why. Other performers still set to appear include Jason Aldean,Blake Shelton,Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more.

The cancellations come in the wake of controversy surrounding Kid Rock headlining Turning Point USA's alternative to the Super BowlHalftime Show, called “The All-American Halftime Show." The event was scheduled in response to Bad Bunny being announced as the Halftime Show performer, and notoriously anti-MAGA band Green Day slated to perform the opening ceremony for the big game.

Rock The Country kicks off on May 1 in Bellville, TX, and runs throughout the summer before concluding in Hamburg, NY, on Sept. 12.

The Internet Mistook Bad Bunny’s Vogue Cover for a 'Fallout' Ad—and Honestly, Fair

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:59pm

Bad Bunny graces the cover of this month's edition of Vogue Brasil, but one of the snapshots from his glamorous spread left fans of one of the most popular TV series this winter doing a double-take.

The photo in question finds the "DtMF" performer draped in a deep, royal blue suit. He lies sprawled across a small mattress covered in yellow bedding, with the walls around him painted in more muted tones of blue and yellow. As one user on X noted, it's "funny how a stark color palette and strong 'brand recognition' can trigger the mind without context," leading many scrolling the platform to pause on what they originally perceived as an undeniable advertisement for Fallout.

I thought this was a Fallout ad 😂 https://t.co/KVBDvvqdOb

— Stein (@steinekin) February 5, 2026 From Bad Bunny to Rad Bunny

One internet denizen admitted they "Had to scroll back up and look twice too 💀," with another declaring, "bros in a vault suit."

"pls I see the vision," someone else agreed, while another joked that the musician was in "the Balenciaga vault."

With a quick bit of handy editing, one fan was even able to bring the mistake to life, warping the well-known magazine cover into a convincing image representing a periodical on behalf of Vault-Tec, comically renaming the Super Bowl performer to "Rad Bunny," adding a monogram of the fictional company's logo to the breast of his suit jacket, and using "FEV 2076" as the edition.

What Is 'Fallout?'

If you're not familiar with the Prime Video series, which is based on a fan-favorite video game franchise comprising seven titles, it takes place in the American wasteland a number of years after a nuclear war. Vault-Tec was a pre-war company that built underground bunkers, called vaults, that the wealthy purchased spots in as international tensions rose. When the bombs fell, those with spots reserved made their way to their respective vaults, donned their uniforms—the blue and yellow vault suits—and committed to a life underground.

The first season of the Amazon adaptation earned 17 Emmy nominations, while the second season just finished airing this week. Filming for Season 3 is expected to get underway this summer.

Beloved Comedian Announces Return to Touring After Health Emergency

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:47pm

Beloved comedian Colin Mochrie is officially returning to the stage after stepping away earlier this year due to a serious health scare.

Earlier in January, the longtime Whose Line Is It Anyway? star revealed that he had undergone emergency surgery to repair a detached retina, forcing him to postpone multiple live performances while he recovered. At the time, Mochrie assured fans that his medical team was optimistic but emphasized that he needed time to rest and heal.

Over the following weeks, Mochrie kept fans updated on his progress, sharing that the surgery was successful and that his vision had fully stabilized. In a later video message, he also used the moment to inject his signature humor while encouraging people to stay proactive about their health, underscoring the importance of regular checkups and early testing.

"Recently, I had some surgery to deal with a detached retina. It's all attached now. Everything is great. But a rumor started happening on the internet—that my eye injury was related to a prostate exam that had gone wrong," Mochrie said, completely deadpan. "Now, obviously, the people who started this rumor are not up on medical practices or anything like that. I mean, a doctor would have to be incredibly nearsighted to—I mean, it's totally two different areas."

Now, just weeks later, Mochrie has announced that he is ready to get back to doing what he loves most.

In a new post, Mochrie revealed that he and fellow Whose Line favorite Brad Sherwood will resume touring this spring. The announcement included a photo of the two comedians onstage together, facing a packed audience, with the caption confirming that the tour picks back up in March.

The pair will continue their live improv show, Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: Asking for Trouble, a fast-paced, unscripted evening built entirely around audience suggestions. The show has become a fan favorite, blending lightning-quick wit, spontaneous characters, and the kind of off-the-rails moments that made both performers household names.

The newly confirmed tour dates kick off March 19 in Waukegan, Illinois, and run through October, with stops across the Midwest, Northeast, South, and West Coast.

Mochrie’s return comes after an outpouring of support from fans earlier this year, many of whom flooded his social media with messages of encouragement, prayers, and jokes worthy of Whose Line itself. At the time, the comedian expressed deep gratitude for the well-wishes and said he was looking forward to sharing many more laughs once he was fully recovered.

With his health back on track and a full slate of shows ahead, Mochrie’s long-awaited return to touring is now officially underway.

Why Woodford Reserve Finished Its New Limited-Edition Bourbon in Wine Barrels

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:45pm

Woodford Reserve is getting experimental in its latest launch, combining bourbon with winemaking for a singular flavor in its annual distillery series.

The Kentucky-based distillery has released a new, limited-edition bottle of bourbon that has been finished in Cabernet Sauvignon French oak barrels. Per the brand, “the wine barrels impart dark fruit and herbal notes into the bourbon, creating a unique bridge between Kentucky craftsmanship and winemaking tradition.”

The bourbon, which has a suggested retail price of $64.99 for a 375-mL bottle, is part of Woodford Reserve’s distillery series that seeks to push the boundaries of bourbon innovation through two to three releases per year.

“Finishing bourbon in wine barrels allows us to explore exciting new flavor dimensions,” said Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall in a statement. “The wine barrels impart rich, fruit-forward notes that complement the bourbon's natural character, creating something truly special for adventurous whiskey lovers.”

The deep reddish brown bourbon has an aroma of soft vanilla, spiced plum, and blackberry dusted with allspice. Its flavor features warm baking spice, dark cherry, and plum with a hint of cocoa, with finishing notes of soft oak and dried dark fruit.

Customers can purchase a bottle directly from Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky or at select retailers in the state, or have it shipped from the brand’s website to select states like Kentucky, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and Washington, D.C.

Woodford Reserve isn’t the only distillery getting experimental with its spirits–last year, beloved Vermont-based distillery WhistlePig launched The Boss Hog XII: Feather & Flame, a limited-edition rye whiskey inspired by traditional flavors found in central Mexico.

The main inspirations are pulque, a fermented beverage made with agave and Mexican chiltepín, guajillo, and pasilla peppers, which provides an earthy flavor to the offering from WhistlePig, and xocolatl, a bitter and spicy drink made from cocoa beans.

At first taste, The Boss Hog XII is citrusy and warm with a hint of smoke before building into a rich, earthy, cocoa flavor, and finishing with an herbaceous chili pepper taste that lingers.

Mariah Carey Proves Diamonds Are an Olympic Sport

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:45pm

And we’re off!

The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 have officially begun, and none other than the glorious Mariah Carey helped launch the games.

As glamorous as ever, Mimi treated the audience to a dual-song performance, in which she sang her own hit “Nothing Is Impossible,” off her latest album, Here for It All, and the Italian classic “Volare,” which according to USA Today was Italy’s entrant into the 1958 Eurovision song contest and a Billboard Song of the Year.

@Mariah Carey is always going to give the best she can with what she’s got (and it’s always spectacular). #mariahcarey #winterolympics #milanocortina2026 #olympics

Taking to Milan’s San Siro Stadium stage, the songbird wore a heavenly floor-length column gown in white and covered in silver jewels. She accessorized with, oh, just the casual $15 million in razzle dazzle – read: She was dripping in 300 carats of diamonds courtesy of Levuma, Page Six reported.

The outlet even said that the star’s necklace alone was a “whopping 185 carats.” Carey completed her ensemble with a feathery coat and soft, long waves.

The Grammy-winning artist was the first performer announced in regard to the Winter Games’ opening ceremony back in December. According to USA Today, her set was produced by Balich Wonder Studio and touted as blending “Italian spirit, innovation (and) emotion.”

Following Carey’s amazing set were some of Italy’s biggest stars, including Andrew Bocelli, Ghali, Laura Pausini, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Cecilia Bartolli, per The New York Times

As the Games are taking place in Milan, it’s no surprise the Opening Ceremony is filled with the sounds of Italian greats, but with Carey’s presence and her dual-language performance of “Volare,” fans are wondering if the R&B diva is Italian herself.

We’ll spare you the Google search: Nope, she’s not Italian. She was born in Huntington, New York and is of mixed heritage. Her father is African American and Afro-Venezuelan, and her mother is Irish American. It’s just that even Milan knows everything is better with Mariah.

Is Nancy Guthrie Alive? Unverified Ransom Note Makes Chilling Claim

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:45pm

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1, and the one person that many people are wondering is whether or not she is still alive.

On Thursday, Feb. 5, TMZ's Harvey Levin appeared on "Hannity" to discuss aspects of the case, including an unverified ransom note that was sent to various media outlets (including TMZ) earlier in the week.

“I will say the letter begins by saying she is safe but scared, and they go on to say she knows exactly what the demand is," Levin told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "They are, through us, telling the family exactly what they are demanding, and they are saying that Nancy is aware of it."

"They are also saying … that this will be their only communication and they are done communicating and negotiating — here’s the deal and that’s it," Levin continued, adding, "As the clock ticks, that’s one of the reasons the FBI and other authorities have gotten desperate here."

Levin also said that there are details in the email that were very specific, such as information about Nancy's Apple Watch, which made the note seem "legit."

In an emotional video posted to social media on Wednesday, Feb. 4, Savannah Guthrie along with her sister, Annie Guthrie, and their brother Camron Guthrie, sent a message to the would-be kidnappers, telling them that they were ready to talk but they wanted proof that their mother was still alive. As far as the public knows, the family never received that proof.

During a press conference held in Arizona on Thursday, Feb. 5, the Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the ransom letter requested funds be sent by 5 p.m. (presumably local time, though Sheriff Chris Nanos wasn't sure either) that day. The time came and went and nothing transpired, according to the New York Post.

’80s Rock Band Announces First Album With New Lineup

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:44pm

Brace yourself: one of thrash metal’s most respected names has just delivered some huge news fans won’t want to miss. Metal Church, the West Coast heavy-metal institution that’s been shaking stages since the early ’80s, just announced a major return with powerful new music—and a fresh lineup that proves they’re far from done.

In an Instagram post, the band revealed that their 13th studio album, Dead To Rights, is slated for release on April 10, 2026. It’s the first full-length album from this incarnation of the group, featuring founding guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof alongside longtime guitarist Rick Van Zandt, bass player David Ellefson, drummer Ken Mary and new vocalist Brian Allen.

View this post on Instagram

"You can now pre-order the all new studio album from Metal Church 'Dead to Rights'!" the band posted via its Instagram account.

According to the band's official website, founding guitarist Vanderhoof produced the album, and it will be released by Rat Pak Records in the U.S., Reaper in Europe and the U.K. and Rubicon in Japan. Fans got a sneak peek of the new music with the album's first official single, "F.A.F.O", which was released in November 2025.

"This new album is very special to me for one reason: the band was over, and I honestly didn’t see it being resurrected. But somehow, it brought itself back to life—again!" said Vanderhoof in the band's statement on its website.  "I’m incredibly proud of these new songs; they hit hard. Brian Allen brings the classic Metal Church sound to the vocals, and adding a rhythm section with musicians of the caliber of Dave Ellefson and Ken Mary makes this a force to be reckoned with. If you enjoy classic Metal Church, you’re going to love this record."

The official tracklist runs as follows:

  1. Brainwash Game
  2. F.A.F.O.
  3. Dead To Rights
  4. Deep Cover Shakedown
  5. Feet To The Fire
  6. The Show
  7. Heaven Knows (Slip Away)
  8. No Memory
  9. Wasted Time
  10. My Wrath
  11. Blood and Water (Bonus Track)

And, of course, Metal Church is hitting the road to support the album with an expansive Dead To Rights Tour in 2026—hitting festivals and theaters across North America and Europe. So far, a few festival dates have been announced with more to come:

  • Aug. 5, 2026: Josefov, Czech - Brutal Assault Festival
  • Aug. 8, 2026: Kortrijik, Belgium - Alcatraz Festival
  • Aug. 9, 2026: Geiselwind, Germany - Keep It True Festival

Whether you’re a longtime die-hard or discovering their thunder for the first time, Dead To Rights is shaping up to be one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated metal releases.

Olivia Colman Opens Up About Gender Identity, Says She Feels 'Sort of Nonbinary'

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:44pm

Award-winning actor Olivia Colman has had many major roles over the years, including her multi-season stint as Queen Elizabeth II in the popular Netflix original series The Crown. Recently, Colman spoke to Themabout her new role as Hannah in Jimpa, a movie which centers on a nonbinary teenager.

When asked about her interest in LGBTQ+ stories, as her filmography comprises many, Colman said, "I think it’s a community that I love being welcomed into. I find the most loving and the most beautiful stories are from that community. And I feel really honored to be welcomed."

Colman went on, "Throughout my whole life, I’ve had arguments with people where I've always felt sort of nonbinary. Don’t make that a big sort of title! But I’ve never felt massively feminine in my being female. I’ve always described myself to my husband as a gay man. And he goes, 'Yeah, I get that.' And so I do feel at home and at ease. I feel like I have a foot in various camps. I know many people who do. I don’t really spend an awful lot of time with people who are very staunchly heterosexual."

It's worth noting that Colman didn't want this revelation to mean a massive announcement—she says not to make it a "big sort of title," after all—and she doesn't seem too set on any particular label for herself. However, this interview did offer newfound insight into the actor's identity and perspective on gender, both of which proved interesting.

Colman's comments suggest that, for her, that sense of feeling nonbinary has long existed and feels natural and comfortable. And, based on her comments, many people in her life understand and accept this about her, including her husband.

There are, of course, many LGBTQ+-identifying actors in Hollywood, some of whom are more vocally out, but Colman's comments on gender, the LGBTQ+ community and her own identity reflect an acceptance and self-assuredness that has certainly resonated with audiences.

'70s Rock Icon Cancels 2026 Tour Before It Begins

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:29pm

Neil Young has officially pulled the plug on his anticipated 2026 tour before it ever got off the ground.

The '70s rock icon confirmed that he will not be touring in 2026 with his current touring band, the Chrome Hearts. Young was scheduled to launch his 13-date European Love Earth tour on June 19th in Manchester, England with Elvis Costello and the Imposters slated to be the opening act for nine shows.

"I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time,” Young shared on his official website. "Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts."

No further explanation has been given regarding the reasons behind the abrupt cancellation.

Neil Young's latest project, Young and the Chrome Hearts, is made up of keyboardist Spooner Oldham, guitarist Micah Nelson, bassist Corey McCormick and drummer Anthony LoGerfo, and, of course, Young himself. The band toured throughout North American and Europe in 2025 and appeared at a benefit concert in California as recently as Oct. 25, 2025.

"That's the other cool thing about the Chrome Hearts that I think keeps Neil energized," Nelson said in an interview with Rolling Stone last year. "He knows he can do anything. Whatever era of Neil or whatever deep cuts, we can learn stuff pretty quick and deliver something. And especially because we have Spooner, it's like we can do the Harvest Moon stuff in a way that really feels like the albums, and we can go delicate and we can get loud and ragged and do everything in between."

Only a few days ago Young made a gifted all of his music to the people of Greenland after standing firm in his choice to remove his catalog from Amazon, a move he made in response to President Trump's desire to take hold of the nation.

"I hope my music and music films will ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government," he wrote on his website. "It is my sincere wish for you to be able to enjoy all of my music in your beautiful Greenland home, in its highest quality. This is an offer of peace and love. All the music I made during the last 62 years is yours to hear. You can renew for free was long as you’re in Greenland. We do hope other organizations will follow in the spirit of our example."

'DWTS' Reportedly Planning Spin-Off Series to Find Next Pro Dancer

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:25pm

Dancing With The Stars is reportedly launching a spin-off series to find their next professional dancer.

Rumors began swirling earlier this week when former DWTS pro Lindsay Arnoldshared she would be traveling to New York City next week for an undisclosed project related to dance.

Adding fuel to the fire, fellow pros Witney Carson and Sasha Farber also hinted at being apart of the project via their Instagram Stories. Farber said an announcement would be made on Tuesday, Feb. 10, but the pair didn't disclose any additional details.

While fans immediately started guessing the show could be announcing a spring season or the return of DWTS: Juniors, entertainment reporter and longtime DWTS insider Kristyn Burtt claims that the show is planning a spin-off competition series to find their next pro.

In a TikTok posted on Friday, Feb. 6, Burtt alleged the show had been greenlit and showed fans a casting call posted by Lissette Pinon, casting manager for McNulty Casting, in October 2025.

The casting call said BBC Studios was searching for "exceptional dancers" to compete for a spot as a DWTS pro.

"Looking for standout dancers with world-class technique, star quality, and the ability to light up a stage," the casting call read. "Ballroom is your foundation, your passion! Show us your full range!"

The casting call also said dancers would be given the opportunity to train with "celebrity partners" and compete at the "highest level."

Exact details will not be announced until next week, but Burtt says the cast is already set and the show will be filming outside of the U.S., though a precise location is unknown.

It is also unclear what level of involvement Arnold, Carson, Farber and other DWTS cast members will have in the show, if any.

A Ready-to-Serve Party Dip With Serious Nostalgia View this post on Instagram

The new Costco deli find, shown by @costcofam4u, is a tasty six-layer dip, stacked and ready the moment you peel off the lid. It layers refried beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese and sliced black olives into one creamy, scoopable situation that feels straight out of a backyard party or family gathering. No chopping, no mixing, no baking required.

Priced at $3.99 per pound, most containers weigh around three-and-a-half pounds, making it a budget-friendly option for feeding a group. That generous size means it works just as well for game day as it does for casual entertaining. You can set the container right on the table or transfer it into your own serving dish if you want it to feel homemade. Either way, it's one of those Costco finds that disappears faster than you expect.

Pair It With Kirkland Tortilla Chips

Of course, a layered dip like this needs the right chip. Costco makes that part easy, too. The most reliable pairing is Kirkland Signature Organic Tortilla Chips, which come in a massive bag that's perfect for parties. They're sturdy enough to handle thick layers and are widely available at most warehouses.

If you're hosting a Super Bowl party, this combo is basically foolproof. Set out the dip with a bowl of Kirkland chips, and you've got a snack that works from kickoff to the final whistle. It's especially ideal if you're watching the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots and don't want to miss a moment while prepping food.

With its generous size, classic flavors and low price, this new deli section dip checks all the boxes for stress-free entertaining. This Costco deli find is exactly the kind of crowd-pleaser Costco shoppers love to discover.

LaMonte McLemore of The 5th Dimension Dead At 90

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 2:24pm

LaMonte McLemore, the iconic singer and one of the original members of The 5th Dimension, has died from natural causes. According to CBS News, the singer was 90-years-old when he passed away this past Tuesday in his Las Vegas home, surrounded by his family.

As a member of The 5th Dimension, McLemore scaled to the heights of the larger music industry, winning six Grammy Awards as part of the pop music group, as well as performing in some of the biggest chart-topping hits of the late '60s.

Among his many successful tracks, McLemore worked on The 5th Dimension's 1967 song, "Up, Up and Away," as well as the classic 1969 song, "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In." Both pieces appeared on lists of the top 10 pop hits, winning the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

Initially formed in 1965, the band found massive success between 1967 and 1973, charting a total of 20 different songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Some of their other well-known songs include "Stoned Soul Picnic," "Wedding Bell Blues," "Never My Love" and "One Less Bell to Answer."

The original band lineup lasted until 1975, when founding members Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo left the group to pursue their own musical careers. Today, the band is remembered as one of the most unique musical acts of the '60s and '70s, leading to their induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame and two performances for the U.S. president at the White House in 1970 and 1972..

"All of us who knew and loved him will definitely miss his energy and wonderful sense of humor," former 5th Dimension members McCoo and Davis said of McLemore's death.

Fellow 5th Dimension member Florence LaRue shared her own tribute to her award-winning bandmate, saying that the musician's "cheerfulness and laughter often brought strength and refreshment to me in difficult times. We were more like brother and sister than singing partners."

McLemore is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mieko McLemore, along with his two children and three grandchildren.

American Airlines to Offer the Only Nonstop Service to This European City of Ruin Bars and Bathhouses

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 1:57pm

American Airlines is expanding its transatlantic network for summer 2026, and one of the most exciting additions for U.S. travelers is nonstop service to Budapest, Hungary—a European city known for its historic spa culture and lively ruin bars.

Starting May 21, 2026, American will launch daily nonstop flights from Philadelphia International Airport to Budapest, making it the only U.S. airline offering a direct connection to Hungary's capital without layovers.

By offering the only nonstop U.S.–Budapest route, American Airlines is making the city more accessible than ever before to American travelers. Previously, reaching Budapest typically required connections through major Western European hubs, but this new service removes that friction, giving visitors more time to explore Budapest's rich offerings.

Budapest is one fin-de-siècle city with two idiosyncratic personalities of once-separated regions: the placated peaks of Buda and the pulsating Pest. They're linked by eight bridges across the Danube River; art nouveau, baroque, and neoclassical architecture; an affinity for goulash; a wealth of thermal baths; and a national identity complicated by centuries of conflict and reform. Oh, and epic ruin bars as a result of it all.

Budapest is perhaps best known for its centuries-old thermal baths, a legacy of both Turkish and Austro-Hungarian influences, where visitors can soak in mineral-rich waters in grand spa complexes like Széchenyi and Gellért.

But it's also become famous for its "ruin bars"— quirky nightlife venues set up in abandoned buildings and courtyards, decorated with eclectic art and vintage furniture. After World War II, a bulk of Budapest—and particularly the Jewish District—was in disrepair. What remained was urban decay: abandoned warehouses, derelict apartment buildings, and unoccupied wastelands. So, in the late '90s, developers started transforming these spaces into dilapidated drinking establishments serving up relatively cheap beers for locals and tourists alike.

Today, there are tons of ruin bars. Szimpla Kert, for example, is Budapest's very first ruin bar—a café and open-air cinema that opened in the carcass of an old factory. There are relaxed, cozy hideaways like Csendes Vintage Bar and Café. Or, for those into the European nightclub scene, Instant is a trippy, magic forest-themed, cavernous labyrinth of 26 randomly designed rooms (including an upside-down room), seven bars, and six dance floors that sprawl across two old tenant buildings.

The direct flight from Philadelphia to Budapest fits into American's broader strategy of boosting its international presence in 2026. Alongside Budapest, the airline is restoring seasonal nonstop flights to Prague and introducing new services to other European destinations. In fact, in summer 2026, American will offer 20 daily flights to 19 transatlantic destinations from Philadelphia alone.

"It's a privilege to connect Philadelphia to the world with unparalleled access to more than 120 global destinations, and we're excited to strengthen our network with service to Budapest and Prague," American Airlines Vice President of PHL Operations Lakshman Amaranyaka said in a press release. "These two cities are rich with culture and history, allowing customers to enjoy the world-renowned thermal baths and spas in Hungary, as well as the iconic medieval architecture of the Czech Republic."

Philadelphia International Airport Chief Executive Officer Atif Saeed added that "summer 2026 at PHL is going to be exciting."

American Airlines' latest additions reflect growing demand for travel to Central and Southern Europe, and the airline is positioning itself to meet the trend.

Who Is Derrick Callella? Everything to Know About the California Man Arrested for Nancy Guthrie Ransom Texts

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 1:47pm

Chances are, if you've seen the name Derrick Callella, you know it's linked to the harrowing disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie. Is he the kidnapper? No, but he's been arrested for sending a hoax Bitcoin demand to the family amid their crisis.

Derrick Anthony Callella—born on July 25, 1983—was arrested by the FBI after they tracked a virtual phone number, an email with his full name attached and an IP address linked to his home near Hawthorne, California. He texted Nancy's daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law—Tommaso Cioni—on February 4: “Did you get the bitcoin were [sic] waiting on our end for the transaction.”

Callella has been charged with one count of intent to transmit a demand for ransom and one count of making a phone call without disclosing identity to abuse, threaten or harass any specific person.

While many are aware of this—just as many, if not more—aren’t aware of two other things: he has been in trouble with financial crimes before, and he has a musical persona with a rather disturbing name.

Read on to see more about who Callella is, specifically more about his music and criminal record.

Derrick Callella was part of an embezzlement scheme

Before his arrest, Callella was part of an embezzlement scheme in which 13 Los Angeles County employees allegedly stole more than $430,000 in unemployment benefits between 2020 and 2023.

According to the LADA, he previously worked as an Intermediate Clerk in the Case Department of Health Services and allegedly stole $9,984 in unemployment benefits between May 6, 2020 and Jan. 20, 2022. His arraignment was set for Nov. 20, 2025. Callella is due back in court in Los Angeles on March 31.

Derrick Callella is also known as “Secret Mutilator”

After a bit of digging, you can find Callella's alternate persona: a musician by the name of Secret Mutilator. According to his Bandcamp, he has released at least 11 bundles of music— ranging from EPs to albums. On Facebook, he describes his music as "SLASH ‘N BURN MODERN-SOUND TERRORISTS LUXED IN LAWLESSNESS & OUR CLOTHES ARE A MESS." Along with that, the hoaxer sells merch featuring a photo from a Russian mafia propaganda poster promoting anti-government themes.

His last post on Instagram was for a beat called "Murdered by words" on Jan 20, 2026.

According to his Facebook, Callella is reportedly married. It’s unknown to whom or for how long at this time. While there is a photo of an infant-sized Colorado Rockies jersey, it remains unclear whether or not they share children together.

Callella has around 3,500 followers on his Facebook page, but most of his posts are set to private at this time.

Walmart’s $21 Popcorn Maker Is My Favorite Affordable Way to Make a Dietitian-Approved Snack at Home

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 1:45pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

I’m a mom to two middle schoolers with endless appetites, so snacks disappear fast in our home. Groceries are one of our biggest monthly expenses, and I’m always looking for ways to stock our kitchen with healthy and affordable options. Enter: Walmart’s $21 popcorn maker.

When my husband learned about the excess oil, artificial flavors, and other additives in the microwave popcorn bags we used to buy, he decided it was time for a change and bought us the Dash Hot Air Fresh Popcorn Popper at Walmart to make homemade air-popped popcorn.

To understand more about why switching to air-popped popcorn is such a smart move, I spoke with Michelle Routhenstein, MS, RD, CDCES, CDN, a Preventive Cardiology Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, who confirmed how much healthier air-popped popcorn is compared to the microwaveable or movie theater versions, particularly when it comes to heart health. "An air popper allows full control over ingredients, starting with just whole grain kernels," she explained.

Dash Hot Air Fresh Popcorn Popper, From $21 at Walmart

Courtesy of Walmart

The upfront cost of this air popper is low, starting at just $21 for the cream color, with aqua and red versions available for $22. A bag of organic kernels costs around $3 and yields a whopping 80 cups of popped popcorn. We’re not only saving money and eating cleaner but also cutting down on waste — no more throwing away plastic wrappers every time someone wants popcorn.

Routhenstein shared that "air popped popcorn made without added oils aligns well with American Heart Association-style eating patterns by keeping saturated fat and sodium low while providing fiber that supports satiety and cholesterol management." She said that "popcorn contains ferulic acid, a specific polyphenol antioxidant found in whole grains," which "helps reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, key processes involved in cardiovascular disease."

Compared to microwaved versions, Routhenstein said that air-popped popcorn has "far fewer calories, minimal saturated fat, and little to no sodium, making it a more heart-healthy choice." Additionally, switching to this air-popping method reduces exposure to polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are the synthetic "forever chemicals" Routhenstein said are used to make some microwave popcorn bags grease-resistant.

"PFAS can migrate into food and accumulate in the body over time and have been associated in observational studies with higher cholesterol levels, elevated blood pressure, impaired glucose metabolism, liver dysfunction, and increased cardiovascular disease risk," she explained.

Portion control is also much easier with this air popper. I can make a huge batch for gatherings or when my kids have friends over, and, as Routhenstein pointed out, "because you can pop only what you need," we can manage the amount of popcorn we individually consume. Plus, we have full control over the amount and type of toppings we add, which she said are "both important factors for sustainable, heart-healthy eating."

I've been especially impressed with this kitchen appliance's compact footprint and easy-to-clean design. But you don't just have to take my word for it. Walmart shoppers agreed that this air popper is "simple to use" and said the popcorn "pops up fluffy and fast." This model even has a designated tray on top to melt a pat of butter as the machine runs.

This little machine has become a staple in our kitchen. It’s a quick and easy way to enjoy a wholesome snack that’s better for our hearts and our wallet. Pop over to Walmart to get a Dash Hot Air Fresh Popcorn Popper for just $21 — a small investment that pays off in big ways.
