In the U.S., roughly 29% of women report having their health concerns dismissed by a doctor, while 15% report that a provider did not believe they were telling the truth, according to KFF Health Survey data from 2024. Negligence can cost women everything, including their own lives. It certainly could have cost multi-chronic illness sufferer Katie Birmingham, 21, hers.

"You really have to become your own advocate," Birmingham tells Parade. "I get told by some people that because I did so much research and brought up certain possibilities with doctors, that I shouldn’t trust 'Doctor Google' and that I was 'shopping' for diagnoses. I would argue that if I had just been listened to in the first place and given real help from day one, I would not have had to do as much research as I did."

How It All Began

Birmingham says she has always felt "off" since she was young: her stomach was always upset, she contracted viruses very easily, and she was constantly exhausted.

"My first memory of my health affecting my life was in second grade, when there was a good chunk of time where I would consistently be going home from school because of my stomach," she recalls. "Coincidentally, it was always after lunch, like clockwork. I was taken to the doctor after going to the nurse so many times in school, and my pediatrician told my mom and me that I was suffering from anxiety."

Being so young, she accepted it and tried to get on with her day-to-day life. But by the time she got to high school, the stomach pains became unbearable. She assumed they stemmed from being a vegetarian, but by January of 2020, she returned to her doctor. Her labs and X-rays showed all was "well," so it was chalked up to IBS.

"I continued to push through until March of 2022, when I woke up with what I thought was the stomach flu or something similar. That feeling has yet to go away," she says.

Doctors still reportedly insisted it was IBS and anxiety, and she trialed several medications to address it. After contracting mono in October of the same year, she marked her health in true decline. She was experiencing symptoms like extreme fatigue, dizziness, tachycardia, muscle pain, and weakness. It got to a point where she claims she just couldn't keep up with regular life anymore.

Getting an Official Diagnosis

It wasn't until 2024, when Birmingham got to the Mayo Clinic, that she was finally able to get some answers. After rigorous testing, a neurologist flagged that she had Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS): a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system causing a rapid heart rate (tachycardia) upon standing, lightheadedness, and profound fatigue. But it wasn't until her second trip to the famed clinic that she learned her POTS diagnosis was part of a larger connective tissue disorder: hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS).

A specialist told her that viruses like mono can "trigger" comorbid conditions like POTS and fibromyalgia, which she was also diagnosed with. When she returned to Missouri, her home state, she also learned she had median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS), which she says has plagued her the most.

"The ligament was compressing my celiac artery, which supplies blood to the digestive system," she explained.

"I had laparoscopic surgery at Mayo to release the MALS in June of 2025. This fixed the compression anatomically, but it did not improve the severe gastrointestinal symptoms I was having," she continued.

It was she who brought up the possibility of having Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) Syndrome, a rare, potentially serious digestive disorder where the third portion of the duodenum is compressed between the abdominal aorta and the superior mesenteric artery. It causes severe abdominal pain as well as nausea, vomiting, and early fullness.

"I obviously had done a lot of my own research because I was not getting the help I needed," she claims. "This was quickly shut down, even though my imaging and symptoms matched the diagnostic criteria for SMA, and I was told I needed more recovery time. I didn’t have much contact with my surgeon since. Over the next few months, I continued to decline, and at the end of the year, it was drastic. I was no longer able to sustain myself nutritionally without severe symptoms."

On Christmas Eve 2025, she had a surgical feeding tube placed: a gastrojejunostomy.

"This means part of the tube does go into my stomach, and there’s one port for that, but there is a longer portion that goes down past my stomach and duodenum, into my jejunum. This is where my formula goes," she explains. "It bypasses my stomach. Because I suspected SMAS, I had to push for the GJ. I knew that the problem came from nutrition going to my stomach/duodenum, so a G-tube would just cause the same problems. I only use the G portion of the tube to vent and drain my stomach to ease symptoms. In January, I saw a specialist in Texas who confirmed my SMAS."

How She's Doing Today

Physically, she is still struggling quite a bit and, sadly, will likely do so for a long time. And it isn't just the symptoms that make it so hard; it is the emotional and mental toll as well.

"Getting diagnosed was and is a long and frustrating process," she says. "Honestly, dealing with the medical system in general here in the States, specifically in Missouri, is almost a full-time job. Most of my symptoms were and still are dismissed or attributed to anxiety. Obviously, this contributed directly to the delay in diagnosis and continues to hinder how I receive care. It takes absolutely everything I have to get simple things done or to be listened to."

Though getting answers is helpful, she goes on to claim that even after all of her diagnosed conditions were confirmed, she still struggles to receive adequate care.

"My current hospital's gastroenterology department has actually completely ghosted me after refusing to manage my feeding tube (recommended by a nutritionist multiple times) because the provider I was seeing told me all of my gastrointestinal issues were 'all in my head,'" she alleges. "I have always and will continue to be the one to have to advocate for myself and connect the dots between everything."

The Reality of Living With Chronic Illness

Birmingham lives a fairly isolated life because of her illnesses but takes a lot of joy in creating things. She describes herself as a creative, detail-oriented person who loves to draw and runs a small jewelry business from her home. Still, it is hard to live on the fringes of life.

"I can’t show up in the ways that I want to or used to," she admits. "And I am the one experiencing this, but as I said, a lot of my conditions are invisible, so it can be really hard for others around me to understand what I am feeling and how hard it is just to be able to function. To do things they wouldn’t think twice about—to get out of bed, to shower, to leave the house. It shows you quickly who your people are and who aren’t truly on your team. It is kind of like a slap in the face; I mean, it shows me who is willing to understand me, adapt to my needs, and support me, but it is not without loss."

Now, she has taken to sharing her journey on social media, where she openly shares the good, bad, and ugly of living with a chronic illness. Birmingham hopes to spread awareness and stress the importance of advocating for yourself when it comes to your health.

"Doctors are often taught the saying, 'When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.' They are trained to assume common conditions first, or 'horses,'" she candidly explains. "They don’t think to look deeper into the rarer or more complex conditions like mine—zebras. Because of that, they are so often overlooked. I spent so much time being treated like a horse when really, I was a zebra all along."

Weapons writer and director Zach Cregger has confirmed a prequel film Gladys is officially in the works.

This news comes after Amy Madigan won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Aunt Gladys in Weapons. Cregger will be co-writing the prequel film with Zach Shields who is best known for his work on the Godzilla x Kong franchise and Krampus.

Madigan won her first Academy Award for her role in Weapons and also won a Critics Choice Award and Actor Award for her performance. Aunt Gladys is the primary antagonist of the film which follows a small town dealing with the sudden disappearance of 17 children in their community. Alongside Madigan, the film also stars Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Benedict Wong, and Cary Christopher.

Cregger had previously spoken to Variety in Aug. 2025 shortly after Weapons had released and said that he had "another idea for something in this world that I'm kind of excited about."

The Hollywood Reporter had also written at the time the film released that Warner Brothers and New Line Cinema were discussing the possibility of an Aunt Gladys prequel film. A potential release date and casting news for Gladys have not yet been announced. Cregger will also be releasing a film adaptation of the Resident Evil video games on Sept. 18, 2026.

Grammy Award-winner Lionel Richieis a grandpa—again! The former Commodore and current American Idol judge just opened up about the newest addition to his family.

For seven seasons, Rachel Dratch cracked up viewers as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. The hilarious actress and comedian played some of the show's most beloved characters of all time, from Debbie Downer to "Boston Teen" Denise McDenna.

Rachel Dratch Saved One Cue Card From Her Time on Saturday Night Live

"I don't have any decor from SNL because I never thought in the moment to steal a prop," Dratch tells Parade exclusively on a Zoom call. "The only thing I have is one cue card from the scene I did with Will Ferrell — the 'Love-ahs' sketch in the hot tub, and it's the last card."

In the sketch, Ferrell and Dratch play loved-up professors Roger and Virginia Klarvin, who enjoy a conversation about lovemaking with characters played by Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore. It all goes down in a hot tub at the fictional Welshly Arms Hotel.

The cue card Dratch saved contains the last few lines of the scene, in which Ferrell yells things like "my back!" and "get the hell off me!"

Rachel Dratch Jokes That Her Interior Design Style Is "Cluttered"

The hysterical Love-ahs sketch aired in 2001, during season Season 27 of SNL, meaning Dratch has held onto the cue card for a whopping 25 years. However, the actress has yet to frame it.

"My interior design style is bit cluttered, gonna admit it," she says. "That's an area I need help in ... I have skills in other areas, and that's not one of them. My interior design style is keep your head above water and bring in help."

Dratch may not be big into decorating her home, but she's definitely into protecting her home with a warranty. Dratch is starring in a new series of commercials for American Home Shield as "Warrantina," a kooky character she helped create for the brand — and who is funny enough to be on SNL. From comedic classics to memorable character roles, few actresses have left a mark quite like she has.

Pamela Reed, known for her versatile performances across film and television, is celebrating her 77th birthday on Thursday. Best known for her role alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Kindergarten Cop, Reed has earned acclaim throughout her career for her characters, comedic timing, and award-winning performances, securing her place as one of Hollywood’s most respected talents of the 1980s and 1990s.

Reed made her TV debut in 1977 on the CBS drama series The Andros Targets, and held many minor roles across film and television throughout the 1980s, including Tanner '88, The Clan of the Cave Bear, The Long Riders, Junior, Bean, Deadly Whispers and more. She got her big break in 1990 when she co-starred with Schwarzenegger in the action comedy film Kindergarten Cop.

Directed by Ivan Reitman and written by Murray Salem, Herschel Weingrod and Timothy Harris, Kindergarten Cop followed John Kimble (Schwarzenegger), a Los Angeles police detective who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher in a small town in Oregon to locate the ex-wife and son of a dangerous drug dealer. Reed played Phoebe O'Hara, one of John Kimble's co-workers.

In a Buzzfeed interview published in December 2025 on the film's 35th anniversary, Reed actually revealed that her character was originally written as a man, but Reitman decided to make the role a female at the last minute.

"I went into the audition, and I was just really relaxed and did a couple of readings," she told the publication. "They seemed to think it was halfway decent!"

Reed also mentioned how fun it was to work with Schwarzenegger, whom she called "an iconic figure."

"He has a gorgeous sense of humor about himself. Arnold knows what's up, and so he will play this behemoth of a human being, and yet, on the inside, is this goofy little guy who's willing to just go anywhere," Reed said. "When you play a character like Phoebe, this little gal with a tall mouth who isn't intimidated by him, it's a lot of fun. It makes for great comedy. Arnold loved it, and so I think that just led to a really easy rapport. It wasn't forced, and it came out of what he and I found with each other."

Throughout the 2000s to now, Reed has continued to act in various television shows and movies. From 2009 to 2015, the 77-year-old actress portrayed the mother of the main character Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) on the NBCsitcomParks and Recreation. More recently, she portrayed Annette O'Keefe in the 2023 film The Burial, which starred Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx.

"1600C° LAVA vs. YETI cup," the caption of @presstube's YouTube video reads. "Will the cup survive, and will it keep the LAVA liquid?"

As for the moment viewers were waiting for, will the tumbler keep the lava liquid? To everyone's surprise, once the crispy bits on top are cleared, molten lava pours right out, showing that the Yeti cup had perfectly preserved it the whole time.

"Finally, I can drink my morning lava without spilling it," one viewer joked. "I don't even need it and I want it," another chimed in. "This is impressive."

Others kept the conversation going, with one admitting the video has "definitely changed my mind about the integrity of a Yeti," while others called it the "best Yeti ad I've ever seen."

Florida has long been considered a dream destination for retirees hoping to spend their golden years enjoying sunshine and lower taxes. However, not all Florida cities are the same when it comes to your retirement prospects, and a new survey has named the three cities the 'worst' for Florida's retirees.

According to the report, factors such as affordability, access to activities, quality of life, and healthcare all played major roles. And while Orlando earned the top spot as the best city in the country to retire, these three cities earned bottom marks in the things that will matter most to retirees.

These Florida Cities are the Worst for Retirees

According to WalletHub, which compared 182 U.S. cities while looking at 45 different key metrics, the worst Florida cities for retirees include:

• Jacksonville
• Tallahassee
• Port St. Lucie

WalletHub's analysis of these cities focused on their retirement friendliness, according to the report, which ranked 182 cities; these three towns ranked lowest among those in Florida.

“It’s important to choose wisely when picking where to retire, as many retirees are on a fixed income," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in a statement about the report. "As a result, the best cities for retired people are those that minimize taxes and expenses, as well as have good opportunities for retirees to continue paid work for extra income, if they choose to do so. In addition, the top cities provide high-quality health care and offer plenty of enjoyable activities for retirees.” Here's why these Florida cities didn't make the top of the list.

Jacksonville Ranked 45th on the List

According to the report, Jacksonville was the best of the bottom three, ranking 45th on the list. It ended up with higher marks due to its affordability rating, which ranked the city 21st out of 182 cities. However, it received lower marks in its healthcare rating, placing the city at 122nd on the list.

According to Jacksonville's own website, the city also appears to have limited public transportation, which could be a deterrent for seniors looking to do away with the responsibilities of owning a car after they retire. Additionally, there's not much easy access to healthy foods, which could contribute to poorer health outcomes for retirees trying to stay healthy and active in their golden years.

Tallahassee Ranked 55th on the List

Tallahassee is another affordable Florida option, ranking 11th for a lower cost of living. However, poor healthcare options (the city ranked 132nd) and a lack of access to senior-friendly activities (here, Tallahassee was ranked 127th) brought the beloved city down to the bottom of Florida's list.

Norada Real Estate Investments also notes that the city has a higher-than-average crime rate, which could raise concerns for those seeking peace and quiet in retirement.

Port St. Lucie Ranked 107th on the List

While the other two Florida cities ranked much higher than the rest of the cities on the list, Port St. Lucie found itself near the bottom, especially when it comes to activities seniors like having access to, where it ranked 170th.

Healthcare was once again a major concern (the city ranked 107th), and it also received low marks for quality of life (91st). However, those looking for affordability may still want to consider Port St. Lucie, which ranked 36th in cost of living.

What Has Amy Schumer Said About Losing Weight?

Schumer has previously spoken out on social media about why she decided to lose weight. In a now-deleted Instagram reel, she said she did so to “survive” Cushing syndrome, a condition caused by too much of the hormone cortisol in the body, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

“I didn’t lose 30 lbs, I lost 50,” Schumer explained. “Sorry for whatever feeling it’s giving you that I lost that weight.” She went on to say that she’s now able to play tag with her son, Gene.

She also said that “whatever ends up happening” in her marriage to Chris Fischer has “nothing to do with” her weight loss. “Fingers crossed,” she shared. “He’s the best.”

However, Schumer announced her split from her husband of 7 years shortly after.

What Has Amy Schumer Said About Using Weight Loss Medications?

One thing fans can always expect from Schumer is honesty. The actress and comedian has spoken candidly with the press about her health. Back in 2023, she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and revealed that while she tried using Wegovy several years ago, the side effects were horrific, and she became devastatingly ill as a result. Schumer told Cohen the drug made her “so sick” that she couldn’t even play with her son and had to ditch the medication.

“Like, a year ago, I tried it. I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn’t play with my son. I was so skinny, and he’s throwing a ball at me and [I couldn’t],” she shared.

More recently, Schumer said she’s been having a “really good experience” with a different drug called Mounjaro.

 “My symptoms of being in perimenopause have disappeared. My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy. I want to ‘get down’ more, if you know what I mean,” Schumer shared in a video taken while sitting in her car. “I’m talking about sex.”

Cottage cheese has been experiencing a massive resurgence in popularity. The soft and creamy cheese made from drained cow’s milk curds mixed with cream first gained mainstream appeal in the 1970s when it was seen as a quintessential diet food. It remained a “diet staple food” through the ‘90s. But in the early 2000s, it fell out of favor. 

Now, cottage cheese is back in a major way. According to CNN, cottage cheese has become so popular in the past couple of years that suppliers are struggling to keep up with the demand. Why? TikTok, of course. Food influencers have been sharing videos using cottage cheese in everything from bagels to ice cream, a way to up the protein in foods that are traditionally low in the nutrient.

There’s no question that cottage cheese is popular, but you may be wondering if it’s actually healthy and how it impacts blood sugar. After all, many diet foods of the past turned out not to be very healthy at all. (Remember Snackwells?) Especially if you’re diabetic, it’s important to know how cottage cheese impacts blood sugar both immediately after eating it and over time when eaten regularly. Here, registered dietitians share everything you need to know.

Is Cottage Cheese Good for Diabetics? 

According to Alison Swiggard, RDN, a registered dietitian at In Good Company Nutrition, cottage cheese has a lot going for it, nutritionally speaking. “Cottage cheese can absolutely be part of a healthy diet. Cottage cheese offers protein, calcium and other nutrients, and for many people it can be a satisfying, convenient option,” she says.

Registered dietitian Cheryl Mussatto, RD, says this too, explaining that cottage cheese is high in protein, relatively low in calories and is a good source of calcium, phosphorus and B vitamins. “What I like most about it is how filling it is. You get a lot of nutritional value without needing a large portion,” she explains.

But cottage cheese does have its drawbacks. Mussatto says that it can be high in sodium, so it’s important to check the nutritional panel when shopping for it. Swiggard points out that not everyone likes the texture of cottage cheese or tolerates dairy well. So while it is a nutrient-rich food, it’s not for everyone.

In terms of whether cottage cheese is good for diabetics, both dietitians say that it is. “Cottage cheese can be a supportive food for people with diabetes, especially because it contains protein. Protein can help with satisfaction and can also help slow digestion when paired with carbohydrate-containing foods,” Swiggard notes.

Mussatto adds to this, saying that since cottage cheese is high in protein but low in carbs, it helps keep blood sugar more stable. “Protein slows digestion and helps prevent sharp spikes after eating. It’s one of those foods that tends to ‘hold you over,’ which can also help with appetite control throughout the day,” she tells Parade.

Though cottage cheese can be a beneficial food for diabetics to integrate into their diet, Swiggard emphasizes that no single food is “the” food for diabetes. She explains that blood sugar is influenced by many factors, including stress, sleep, hormones, medication, overall intake and what the food is paired with.

How Does Eating Cottage Cheese Impact Blood Sugar?

While people with diabetes certainly have to be mindful of how what they consume impacts blood sugar, everyone can benefit from maintaining stable blood sugar levels. Stable blood sugar helps keep mood and energy levels steady, supports hormone balance and can help minimize weight gain.

Immediately after eating cottage cheese, both dietitians say that you won’t experience a major difference in blood sugar, which is good. As Mussatto explained earlier, the high-protein, low-carbohydrate makeup in cottage cheese helps keep blood sugar levels steady.

“[Cottage cheese] digests slowly and doesn’t cause rapid spikes. In fact, it can actually help blunt the blood sugar response when paired with higher-carb foods,” Mussatto says.

Of course, what you pair with your cottage cheese matters too. For example, many people like to add fruit to cottage cheese. Both dietitians say that cottage cheese with fruit is a great healthy snack, especially for diabetics. “Fruit is often unfairly demonized in blood sugar conversations, but whole fruit contains important nutrients, fiber and carbohydrates that help fuel the body,” Swiggard says.

While cottage cheese and fruit can be a healthy snack, both dietitians say that it’s not a well-rounded meal on its own. To integrate cottage cheese into a balanced meal, both dietitians recommend combining it with foods high in fiber and healthy fats. Alyssa Farah Griffin will be returning to The View this month following the February birth of her baby boy.

Announced Thursday, the conservative talk show host will be rejoining the table on April 13 after a slew of guest co-hosts have taken her seat since she welcomed her son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., on Feb. 10. In her absence, former View co-hosts including Abby Huntsman and Elisabeth Hasselbeck were in the rotation of guest co-hosts.

In her time off Griffin, 36, has shared photos of her adorable new addition, and recently shared that fellow View co-host Sara Haines paid the new mom a visit.

"Alyssa is glowing, Justin is glowing," Haines said, referring to Griffin's husband while recounting the visit on The View's podcast, Behind the Table.' "They are in the most blissful time of their lives and baby Justin...is pretty darn perfect."

In reaction to the announcement of her return, viewers took to the show's Instagram expressing their excitement for her to be back at the table.

"Woohoo!!! I miss this woman and her common sense in that chair!" wrote one.

"Girl finally, I’ve skipped the show for weeks," added another.

The next day Goldberg shared the news of the baby's birth with the audience.

“First thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband on the birth of their baby boy, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr.,” she said at the top of the show on February 11. “He weighed in 7 lbs and 19 and a half inches. Both mom and baby are doing well.”

Goodreads put together the awards of 2025, just as it has done in previous years. These are all voted on by the readers, and it’s led to some top books to check out. At the top of general fiction is one from the mind of A Man Named Ove, Fredrik Backman.

‘My Friends’ Is Named the Favorite Fiction of 2025

The readers voted, and My Friends by Backman made it to the top of the list. It won with 167,509 votes out of 638,200, and the book in second place was a good 60,000 votes behind it. That’s a pretty sure thing when it comes to finding something great to read.

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy and The Correspondent by Virginia Evans came in second and third place, respectively. The entire list is packed with wonderful fiction from last year, and this covers a variety of genres within the world of storytelling.

‘My Friends’ Is a Story of Friendship and Time

If you’ve just watched A Man Named Otto, then you’ll have an idea of the type of stories Backman tells. In My Friends, we get a story of friendship. It starts with four teenagers who create a bond so powerful that it changes the life of a stranger 25 years later.

We get a story told across the years. Louisa is an aspiring artist and is captured by a painting of three people at the end of a pier. For most people, the piece of art is all about the sea in the beyond, but Louisa is captivated by the three friends standing together.

Sure enough, the story of these friends comes from 25 years earlier, as we learn about their time telling silly jokes and hanging out on an abandoned pier. Little would they realize that their lives would become something Louisa would find herself enamored with.

There’s no time like the present to read it. My Friends by Backman is not one to sleep on.

The emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center will be looking a little different come next January, when Season 3 of The Pitt is anticipated to drop.

One series regular since the start is reportedly headed out the door, while another minor player is getting promoted to fill in the gap left behind.

According to a source who spoke with Variety, Supriya Ganesh, who plays resident Dr. Samira Mohan, will not be returning next season. This is reportedly a story-driven decision, rather than a personal one, which makes sense as her character has spent a good deal of the season worrying about what specialty she'll pursue.

Meanwhile, Ayesha Harris, who you'll recognize as senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis (the doctor deposed alongside Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden) over Season 1's measles case) will return as a series regular.

Who Else Is Leaving 'The Pitt'?

This marks the first casting update for The Pitt's third season, which was renewed shortly before Season 2 even aired on HBO Max. While technically anyone could be on the chopping block, other faces we consider likely to announce their departure include doctors-to-be Joy Kwon (Irene Choi), who has made her disdain for emergency medicine clear over and over, and potentially James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson), who is eager to learn but not so popular with the rest of the department. However, Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) is also a medical student and has managed to stick around, so we may find ourselves surprised.

There are just three more episodes left to air of Season 2, and then, of course, some downtime for the cast before filming commences on Season 3, so we can likely expect additional casting announcements to trickle in throughout the summer.

Ganesh herself has not addressed the news of her departure, and she currently has no credits in the works on IMDb, so her first post-Pitt project is not yet known.

Rapper Pooh Shiesty — real name Lontrell Denell Williams Jr. — was arrested in connection to the abduction of former friend Gucci Mane, TMZ reported on Thursday, April 2.

According to the outlet, Shiesty and pal Big30 "kidnapped and robbed several alleged victims at gunpoint in a Dallas music studio," including the "Wake Up in The Sky" artist.

The alleged incident took place back in January.

Who Is Pooh Shiesty?

Shiesty is a Memphis, Tennessee-based rapper, who was previously signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 label.

According to the Department of Justice, which executed warrants in Memphis, Nashville and Dallas on Wednesday, April 1, Shiesty allegedly "executed an armed takeover" of a Dallas studio and forced one of the victims to sign a release letting him out of his contract at gunpoint, TMZ reported.

Pooh got his start with his debut single, "Hell Night," which featured friend Big30, in 2019. He went on to release hits such as "Shiesty Summer," "Choppa Talk," and "Day One."

The Tennessee native has found himself in legal trouble in the past, including a October 2020 arrest in connection with a shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida.

He later pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes, according to Rolling Stone.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime but was released in October 2025 after serving three years, XXL Mag reported.
