Elvis Presley's Ex-Girlfriend Linda Thompson Makes Rare Appearance at 'EPiC' Movie Premiere
Linda Thompson stepped out in support of the new Elvis Presleyconcert film.
The songwriter and former actress—who dated the King of Rock and Roll for over four years during the '70s—was in attendance for the premiere of Baz Luhrmann's highly-anticipated new film, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert.
Thompson, 75, hit the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif., on Wednesday, Feb. 18, while dressed in a stylish black midi dress that was completely covered in sequins.
Her sparkling dress featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a long sleeve on one side. Thompson made the already-dazzling look pop even more by adding a pair of cheetah-print heels and a matching handbag with the same pattern.

Thompson dated Presley for four years between 1972 and 1976, following his split from ex-wife Priscilla Presley.
Thompson opened up about her relationship with Presley in her 2016 memoir, A Little Thing Called Life. In the book, Thompson reflected on the downfall of their relationship around late 1976, at the height of his prescription drug addiction.
"When I looked at all the pieces of myself that I had given up on Elvis’s behalf, increasingly I saw that staying with him would demand a sacrifice that I was unwilling to make," Thompson wrote. "I'd always wanted to be a mother, but I could not bring a baby into my life with Elvis."
"As much as I loved him," she wrote, "I knew I wanted more—and motherhood was just the start."
Less than a year after his breakup from Thompson, Elvis died at the age of 42 in August 1977.
Following her relationship with Presley, Thompson went on to marry Caitlyn Jenner in 1981, and the pair welcomed two sons together, Brandon, 44, and Brody, 42, before divorcing in 1986.
Thompson was also previously married to David Foster for over ten years prior to their 2005 divorce.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert officially releases in theaters for an exclusive 1-week IMAX engagement beginning Friday, Feb. 20, followed by a nationwide release on Friday, Feb. 27.

Donny Osmond Faces Unexpected Legal Spotlight After Vegas Concert
While most fans want to dive into the concert experience, one Donny Osmond fan got more than she expected at one of his shows—and is now suing the singer.
During a 2024 show at Harrah's Las Vegas, concertgoer Joanne Julkowski alleges she was "suddenly and forcefully struck in the back of the head by one of the lighted balls that had been thrown or propelled into the crowd," according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
As a result, Julkowski filed a lawsuit in Nevada's Clark County, where she alleges that she "sustained serious injuries, including a traumatic retinal eye injury to her right eye with retinal detachment requiring surgical intervention and resulting visual impairment, as well as associated head and neck injuries," which "required [her] to obtain extensive medical care."
View this post on InstagramBeyond her physical injuries, Julkowski says she's faced "severe emotional distress, including psychological trauma, fear, anxiety, PTSD, and loss of joy in life," and "physical pain, discomfort, disability, and limitations in her daily activities." She also said she now faces lost wages and the inability to make a living.
In addition to Osmond, Donny Osmond Concerts, Inc., and Harrah's are listed as defendants in the lawsuit. In court documents, Julkowski alleges that the venue could have done more to protect patrons from poor lighting. "Therefore reducing visibility for patrons and limiting their ability to perceive, track, and avoid the oversized, lighted balls moving through the crowd; and there were no adequate warnings, instructions, or safety measures communicated to patrons regarding the presence, use, or hazards of the balls."
Julkowski is accusing Osmond of putting her life in danger. "The oversized lighted balls used during the concert were designed and intended to be thrown or propelled through the audience while illuminated, and when so used, were capable of causing injury to concertgoers upon forceful impact," according to court docs. Julkowski is suing for monetary damages of $15,000 to cover previous and future medical costs, lost wages and future wages, attorney expenses, plus punitive damages.
Nancy Guthrie Case Turns Into ‘Ego Trip’ as FBI Pushes to Step In
The search for Nancy Guthrie—the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie—is now facing internal friction.
Critics are accusing Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos of turning the high-profile case into what some are calling an “ego trip,” due to the fact that more than two weeks after Nancy disappeared from her Tucson home on February 1, no suspects have been named and no major breakthroughs have been announced.
The FBI is reportedly eager to assume control of the investigation but cannot do so unless the Guthrie family formally requests it, according to multiple law enforcement sources and outlets.
“It is a common belief in this agency that this case has become an ego case for Sheriff Nanos,” Sgt. Aaron Cross, president of the Pima County Deputies Organization, said to The Post on Thursday, February 19.
Nanos did respond to Parade's request for comment with the following statement: "Right now, our focus is on this investigation and serving the victims and this community. Internal or political commentary distracts from this active investigation, and it is very unfortunate. My focus remains on justice and transparency."

Nanos has served as the primary public voice in the case, conducting press briefings and national interviews. But critics argue the messaging has created confusion. One law enforcement source told the outlet, “The sheriff turned a serious investigation into a rolling spectacle, from questionable decisions to shifting narratives and a disastrous media cleanup tour that raised more questions than it answered.”
They also added, “Leadership in moments like this requires discipline, not damage control.”
Tension between local and federal authorities has only intensified. A federal source told The Post that the FBI is “growing frustrated,” noting, “Over two whole weeks into this, the police have made no leads, no progress.”
And on the latex glove found during the investigation that yielded no DNA matches? The source said, “They were never confident in the glove.”
Crime enthusiasts and legal analysts like Nancy Grace have also weighed in, stressing that short tandem repeat testing is already underway. “Those STR, short tandem repeat DNA analysis are being made,” Grace said on Hannity, adding that it “shouldn’t have taken this long, as a matter of fact.” She has previously criticized reports that evidence was sent to a private lab rather than the FBI’s Quantico facility, arguing it could “risk” the case.
How Many Steps Are in a Mile? Here’s What Experts Want You To Know
There's plenty of fodder around the benefits of logging 10,000 steps per day for better health. The idea is mostly the product of a myth started by some clever marketing in 1965 by Yamasa Tokei, a Japanese company selling a pedometer.
"[Getting] 10,000 steps per day isn’t necessarily a hard and fast rule to abide by," states Stephen Sheehan, CPT, a certified personal trainer with Garage Gym Reviews. "Yes, it’s a round number that can be easy to shoot for, but studies more so suggest that moving more should be the ultimate goal."
Perhaps you'd like to start running or walking a mile. It's a great place for many people to start or build on their current movement, depending on their health status and overall fitness experience.
"The benefits [of running or walking a mile] are endless. Daily physical activity provides better physical, mental and emotional health in both the short term and long term," states Sean Fortune, a New York-based run coach and founder of Central Park Coaching. "It touches every aspect of our lives."
He adds that making a daily practice of running or walking a mile can become a foundational routine with a positive ripple effect in other areas of your life, opening the door to personal transformation.
It may also help you get more daily steps. With all that in mind, how many steps are in a mile, really? Great question.
"It’s helpful to know how far you’ve actually gone as you build a running or walking routine," Fortune says. "For any form of movement to deliver lasting benefits, it has to be ongoing, and one of the most reliable ways to make something stick is to track it."
Fitness experts have done a decent amount of tracking during their careers. Here's what they have to say about the step count in a mile.

How Many Steps Are in a Mile? The not-clear-cut answer is: It depends. "While there is some nuance involved when calculating the exact steps in a mile, most research offers a general metric of roughly 2,500 steps," Sheehan shares.
This metric generally aligns with Fortune's experience and personal tracking of the number of steps you take per mile.
"From my research, walking a mile takes about 2,000 to 2,500 steps," he states. "Running takes fewer steps as it involves longer strides."
Fortune says people generally take 1,400 to 2,000 steps per mile when running. However, the precise number depends on other factors. He adds that step count per mile may vary based on:
- Age: Age can cause power to decline, leading to shorter stride length and more steps in a mile.
- Height: People who are taller and have longer legs have longer strides and take fewer steps per mile.
- Cadence: A higher cadence generally leads to a shorter stride length and more steps per mile.
- Terrain: Hills can decrease stride length and lead to more steps in a mile than you take on a flat road, which opens the door for longer strides.

How Many Miles Is 10,000 Steps?Age, pace and stride length contribute to how many miles you can cover with 10,000 steps. However, it generally takes around 2,500 steps to walk a mile, so Sheehan did some quick math: "10,000 steps divided by 2,500 steps per mile equates to a distance of roughly 4 miles."
If you're taking fewer steps per mile because you're moving faster, you'll naturally cover more ground. "For walking, if you're averaging 2,000 steps per mile, you would conceivably cover about 5 miles," Fortune shares. "If you're running, about 7 miles."
That said, you have to keep a pretty consistent pace and stride throughout. Some people can do that. Others cannot because they may get tired. That's why the answer to questions like this one is so personal.

Is Increasing Your Steps per Mile a Good Goal?We hate to keep saying the same thing over and over again, but the risks and benefits of increasing steps per mile are personal to you.
"Increasing your steps per mile isn’t always a better goal, because taking more steps usually means shorter, quicker strides that can feel easier on the joints but may increase repetitive stress," states Dr. Gbolahan Okubadejo, MD, an NYC-area spinal and orthopaedic surgeon. "It’s better for bone and joint health to prioritize consistent movement that does not cause pain as opposed to increasing steps per mile."
That said, for people not dealing with or at a higher risk for bone and joint-related issues, Fortune reports that increasing your steps per mile can be a worthwhile goal to pursue. He notes that it can:
- Allows you to vary your cadence, providing contrasting movement of your body and improving fitness and mental stimulation
- Puts your body through different ranges of motion, challenging the muscles, bones and joints in different ways.
- Stimulates your heart rate, cardiovascular system and body temperature
"All good things for your body and mind," he emphasizes.
If you're concerned about your bones and joints, though, talk to your care team and get their thoughts on increasing your step count per mile.

How To Increase Step CountIf you have your care team's green light to increase your step count, Dr. Okubadejo says there are many safe, fun and effective ways to reach your new target. He suggests:
- Taking short walks during breaks at work or home
- Using the stairs instead of elevators whenever possible
- Parking farther away from entrances when running errands
- Walking or pacing while talking on the phone
- Walking with a friend, family member or pet to make it more enjoyable

1962 No. 1 Hit Song Was an Iconic TV Theme—But It Almost Didn’t Happen
In the early 1960s, the musical duo Flatt and Scruggs hit the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “The Ballad of Jed Clampett.” The banjo-heavy bluegrass song, which served as the opening and closing theme to the CBSsitcomThe Beverly Hillbillies, peaked at No. 1 for three non-consecutive weeks in 1962 and 1963, per American Songwriter. It also charted on the Billboard Hot 100, a rarity for a bluegrass song.
Recorded by guitarist Lester Flatt and banjo player Earl Scruggs (with vocals by Jerry Scoggins on the TV version), “The Ballad of Jed Clampett” was released in November 1962, two months after the premiere of The Beverly Hillbillies. The title for the song was a homage to the show’s patriarch, played by Buddy Ebsen, who struck oil on his property in the Ozark Mountains and then moved his clan to a fancy Beverly Hills mansion.
Scruggs’ wife turned the song down, then came up with an ideaWhile "The Ballad of Jed Clampett" became a big hit, Scruggs’ wife and manager, Louise, almost put a stop to the project. Speaking with NPR in 2003, she recalled showrunner Paul Henning approaching Flatt and Scruggs to perform the TV theme song.
“He called and wanted Earl and Lester to do the theme music,” she said. “And I turned it down at first because of the word ‘Beverly Hillbillies.’ I didn’t know what connotation that was going to take with country people and didn’t want to offend them.”
Scruggs recalled that Henning promised her that “the premise of this show is that the Beverly Hillbillies are going to always be outsmarting the city slickers.'”
After watching the TV pilot, Scruggs agreed to let the duo record the theme song. She then had another idea. “While they were doing the theme music, I said to Perry Botkin, who was the music director at the time, ‘I think that would make a great single,'” she recalled to NPR.
“And so I called Mr. Henning, and I said, ‘What do you think if they, about them recording that for a single for Columbia Records?' And he said, ‘I think it's a great idea,'" she shared. "So I spoke to their A&R director, Mr. Don Law, who was doing their records at the time, and so they recorded it three weeks later. And then on, it was released in October, and December 8, 1962, it hit number one in Billboard [country chart]. And it was up in the pop chart too.”
The song appeared on the 1963 Flatt and Scruggs album, Hard Travelin’.
Scruggs also revealed that within a month of The Beverly Hillbillies airing, Flatt and Scruggs became booked for concert dates for a year in advance. She noted that the theme for the classic comedy series “helped country music” become more mainstream.

Another duo was rejected for the projectBeverly Hillbillies creator Henning revealed that executive producer Al Simon originally commissioned someone else to do the theme song. In an interview with The Television Academy Foundation, Henning recalled, “Al Simon had engaged a pair of well-known songwriters, and they came out to Universal and did the song for me, and I said, ‘Well, I'm sorry, but that's not what I want.’”
He noted that he had “pirated” a record of Flatt and Scruggs but told musical director Botkin he knew he couldn’t “do that on the air.” “And he said, ‘Well, why don't I go down to Nashville and have them record it?’" Henning recalled.
Henning penned the song with the help of a musical team, and the rest is history.

Not only did they record the song, but Flatt and Scruggs made several cameos on The Beverly Hillbillies. The duo first played for the Clampetts in the 1963 Season 1 episode “Jed Throws a Wingding” and returned multiple times as friends of the family.
Thirty years after “The Ballad of Jed Clampett” topped the charts, the song came full circle in the TV special The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies. The 1993 mockumentary-style special featured in-character appearances by original cast members Ebsen, Donna Douglas (Elly Mae Clampett), and Max Baer (Jethro Bodine). In one iconic scene, Jed Clampett even danced to his signature tune.
32 Years Later, Nancy Kerrigan Reflects on What Never Happened After the Tonya Harding Scandal
After more than 30 years of their story being told and retold of the attack that changed figure skating forever, Nancy Kerrigan is reflecting on the lasting aftermath of the scandal that linked her name to Tonya Harding’s in sports history—and sharing the one thing—an apology from Harding—she never got after the explosive incident.
While practicing for the Winter Olympics in Detroit, MI, on Jan. 6, 1994, Kerrigan was struck in the legs with a metal baton at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, an assault later tied to competing skater Harding's husband, Jeff Gillooly, and her bodyguard, Shawn Eckardt. Though Kerrigan ultimately recovered to win silver at the Winter Olympics weeks later, the scandal’s cultural impact has endured for decades.
While audiences often gravitate toward stories of rivals resolving their conflict, that was never the case for Kerrigan and Harding. During a 2017 interview with ABC, Kerrigan recounts seeing Harding at a 1998 event, but the two never spoke. In fact, she says Harding never directly apologized, to which Kerrigan said, “Does it matter, at this point?"
The skaters' story had resurfaced in the film I, Tonya, which starred Margot Robbie as Harding, but at the time, Kerrigan wasn't focused on the past. “My job is being with my kids after school and asking them how their day was," Kerrigan said in 2017. Kerrigan went on to write a children's book and continued to skate, performing as recently as 2025's Holiday Spectacular on Ice in New York. She also joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars Season 24.
Harding's life wasn't as easy. She and Gillooly released a sex tape after they had divorced, and she had quite a few brushes with law enforcement, which included arrests and a short stint in jail. She ultimately became a mother and juggled various gigs, including boxing, season 16 of Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition, and competing on Dancing With the Stars.
"I'm surprised that anyone is still interested in the incident from 30 years ago, especially considering there are so many problems in our country which concern us all, and I was only charged with hindering prosecution for not coming forward soon enough," Harding told PEOPLE in 2024 in reflection of the 1994 attack.

9 Easy Updos for Medium-Length Hair, According to Celebrity Stylists
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Some days, one glance in the mirror and you instantly know your hair is not showing up to cooperate. That’s where a trusty updo earns its keep. When strands look dull no matter how much product or heat you throw at them, a ponytail, slicked-back bun or chic chignon steps in as the ultimate stylish save.
Sleek updos for medium-length hair can be super easy, too. Not every updo needs intricate braiding or wedding-level effort—there are plenty of styles that come together in minutes and still look pulled together.
Need inspo? We talked to expert hairstylists to uncover the 9 easiest updos for mid-length hair—all quick, wearable and screenshot-worthy. Read on and get ready to add a few new go-tos to your rotation.

What Are Some Quick Updos for Beginners? If you’re new to updos, starting simple is the secret. Celebrity hairstylist (for the likes of JLo and Mila Kunis) and TRESemmé brand partner Justine Marjan says she loves "a sleek bun, curly chignon or messy bun" for beginners because they’re easy to execute and hard to mess up. These styles rely more on shape than technique, which means a few twists, pins or a quick gather can go a long way.
Whether you prefer something smooth and refined or a little undone, these low-lift updos deliver instant polish without the stress—perfect for busy mornings, last-minute plans or anytime your hair needs a reset fast.

For beginners, a messy updo comes together best when you build texture first and keep the process relaxed.
To start, "separate the hair in front of the ears and clip it away," Marjan says, then spray dry hair with hairspray before brushing everything up into a high ponytail. Next, “curl the hair in the front and the hair through the length of the pony,” followed by a spritz of TRESemmé A-List Dry Texture Spray to create grip.
To shape the bun, she suggests "twisting the pony into a knot" and using another elastic to secure—but be sure not to "pull all the hair through on the last twist," to keep the look breezy and organic.
Then, "grab the ends and twist and pin in your desired shape," and finish by twisting and pinning the front pieces into the base of the bun and sealing the look with hairspray for hold. Easy, messy, chic.
Related: 7 Best Short Haircuts for Fine Hair, According to Celebrity Stylists
Medium-length hair hits the sweet spot for a sleek bun—it’s long enough to twist and tuck, but not so heavy that it drags down your look. Marjan recommends using TRESemmé A-List Styling Stick and "a smoothing brush to slick hair back," and notes that for thicker hair, "you may need to first slick back the top half of hair and secure with an elastic before adding in the additional hair with another elastic."
Once the hair is neatly gathered, she suggests coating the ponytail’s length, then twisting it into a bun and pinning it securely.
The magic, she adds, is in the finishing touches.
"Use hairspray for hold and spray onto a toothbrush to slick back frizz if needed," then seal everything with a generous mist of shine spray (Beachwaver Shine Squad Shine Spray is a go-to) for that glossy, glass-like finish.
The result is effortlessly, chic and perfect for when you want a style that looks intentionally put-together without feeling overworked—whether it’s a Monday meeting or a last-minute night out.

Tanzyn Crawford’s romantic chignon is the kind of updo that feels intimidating, but is actually super easy to achieve. Marjan notes she loves this 'do because it’s elegant without being stiff, and it works beautifully on medium-length hair that has a little natural texture.
To recreate it, gather your hair into a low ponytail, curl sections loosely with your go-to hot tool, then twist and pin them around the base. Pieces can be left slightly undone for softness, making it sophisticated but approachable—perfect for a dinner out or a special event.
Jason Kempin/ACMA2018/Getty Images for ACM
There’s a reason the messy bun never falls out of favor—it’s forgiving, fast and still looks intentional, no matter how messy it really is. Seen on Kimberly Schlapman, this updo leans into texture rather than precision, which is exactly why Marjan loves it.
Pull hair into a loose ponytail, twist it around itself, and secure with pins. Let shorter layers escape around the face for that perfectly imperfect finish that works for errands, dinners and everything in between.

3. Classic, Refined PonyKevin Mazur/Getty Images
Few styles feel as timeless as a sleek ponytail with softly curled ends. As Nexxus brand partner and celebrity hairstylist—who has worked with Cate Blanchett and Leighton Meester—Clariss Rubenstein puts it, this is "a ponytail elevated to couture—sleek, intentional and eternally chic."
Ariana Grande’s red carpet take shows how easy it is to make the look feel refined. Simply smooth hair back with Nexxus Styling Cream, secure at the crown or mid-height, then curl the ends for softness. It’s simple yet versatile, and proves that a ponytail can absolutely be a statement all its own.

Hailey Bieber rocks a slicked-back bun like no other. Exuding confidence, this updo embraces clean lines and works particularly well for medium hair thanks to how it keeps everything contained—all while highlighting your best facial features.
Marjan recommends smoothing hair back with a brush and secure using a pomade (like R+Co DART Pomade Stick) to get that sleek look. Then twist into a tight bun at the nape or mid-crown, using pins hold the shape and a bit of finishing spray to tame flyaways. It instantly elevates any look without fuss.

Selena Gomez’s high pony is playful, feminine and full of life. Rubenstien explains that volume is key to achieving this look, so instead of wearing at the nape, this style should sit on top of the crown for maximum effect. You can also "curl your strands, tie with ribbons or scarves or even pair with rolled bangs or side-swept fringe" for some extra fun.
For medium-length hair, teasing the crown lightly adds instant lift, while curling the ends and securing with an accessory gives it that exciting, effortless energy.

Hailey Bieber shows that claw clips can be more than a nostalgic accessory—they’re an easy way to elevate any medium-length style. Marjan swears by this look for busy mornings or casual days. All it takes is a few steps, starting by twisting the hair up loosely. Then secure with a clip and let a few face-framing strands fall naturally.
It’s chic, fast and gives a just-threw-it-together style that actually looks intentional but only takes five minutes max.
Patricia Schlein/Star Max/GC Images
Space buns, as seen on Yara Shahidi, bring a playful and youthful edge to medium-length hair while staying surprisingly easy to execute, says Marjan. Split hair down the middle, twist each section into a bun and pin. Yes, that's really all there is to it.
Texture is encouraged here—slight looseness keeps the look modern and wearable, whether you’re heading out for the day or dressing up a casual outfit.
Samir Hussein/WireImage
The bubble pony (or bubble braids) gives instant dimension with minimal effort. By adding elastics down the length of a ponytail and gently pulling each section outward, you create volume and movement that feels fresh and fashion-forward, says Marjan.
Inspired by Griff’s playful take, this style is especially great for medium hair since it enhances fullness without extensions. It’s bold, fun and deceptively simple.
Neil Mockford/Filmmagic
Zendaya’s braid proves that even the simplest styles can be striking. Marjan emphasizes that braids are perfect for medium-length hair because they tame texture while keeping hair stylishly contained.
Start with a basic three-strand braid or a loose side braid, secure with an elastic and tug gently on sections to create softness. The best part of this 'do? It transitions seamlessly from casual daywear to a stylish evening look. No glam squad required.

Does Gabriel Basso Have A Wife? What We Know About 'The Night Agent' Star's Romantic Life
For three seasons, Gabriel Basso has set pulses racing as the star of the Netflix political thriller The Night Agent — the 31-year-old actor portrays Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent who is roped into a world of high-level corruption as part of Night Action, a top-secret counterintelligence program focusing on cases that traditional agencies like the CIA, FBI or NSA can't handle.
Basso will be back in action when the high-stakes drama returns with season 3, which premieres on the streamer on Thursday, February 19. And while his character doesn't have a whole lot of time for romance these days — what with Peter busy having to take down a corrupt White House and all — The Night Agent fans will no doubt be curious about the hunky TV star's current relationship status after watching the new episodes.
With The Night Agent back for season three, here's everything we know about lead Gabriel Basso's romantic life and dating history.
Does Gabriel Basso have a wife?Well, that's tricky. Basso is extremely protective about his personal life, even resorting to recently deleting his social media accounts to maintain the peace and privacy of not only himself but also his loved ones. Thus, there has been no official confirmation whether or not the St. Louis-born performer currently has a wife or has ever been married, nor of Bacco's relationship status in general.

Are Luciane Buchanan and Gabriel Basso together?Despite the chemistry shared onscreen between The Night Agent co-stars across the first two seasons of the Netflix thriller — Luciane Buchanan's character Rose Larkin was written out following the show's second season — Basso and Buchanan are not dating in real life.
However, the actors have publicly touched upon their close bond in the past. “She's great,” Gabriel told Swooon of Buchanan back in January 2025. “We just sort of let each other do our own thing. There were scenes where we worked out together what should happen and the pacing of it, and this is a consistent thing, but overall, it was just sort of putting on some old clothes. They fit right and we got into the swing of things for sure.”
“We were both away from home, and we both were just sort of thrown into this, so we both bonded over that,” he added. “Also, I think the way it was written was really gradual. It would have been a lot more difficult to portray had they been like, 'Oh, you save her; now you're together.' It felt really grounded and realistic, and all my strengths were her weaknesses, and her strengths were my weaknesses. It was very complimentary, and we never felt like we were competing for anything narratively.”
Following her exit from the series, Buchanan shared some insights into the reasoning behind Rose's departure, with the 32-year-old actress telling Deadline this past September: “The writers decided that they wanted to follow Peter and his journey based on what happened at the end of season 2. So, we don’t get to see what happens to Rose, but I think it’s a really exciting time for the show, and who knows, it’s not a goodbye forever.”
Gabriel Basso plays FBI agent Peter Sutherland in Netflix's The Night AgentNetflix
Does Gabriel Basso have kids?Yes, the A House of Dynamite actor reportedly welcomed his first child, a baby girl, in August 2020. Basso has not publicly revealed the name of his daughter nor the identity of the mother but did confirm the baby's birth on social media (back before he deleted his handles). “There’s a new Basso on the planter,” he wrote via Instagram at the time, alongside a snap of the infant.
Basso also gave a "glimpse into the pit of insanity" that is new fatherhood on Instagram in a February 2023 Instagram post, jokingly writing: "If you live in the midst of chaos your thinking becomes chaotic and disorganized. Indeed...That is my ultimate secret to remaining inhumanly tense and on edge. Always keep yourself guessing so that your enemies and rivals won't have any idea what your next move will be. Always wear your gi. And always possess wrist control when addressing a toddler.”
Does Gabriel Basso have tattoos in real life?If Gabriel Basso does have a romantic partner IRL, then they would no doubt know the answer to this one. Both off-set and onscreen during shirtless scenes in The Night Agent, Gabriel sports some major ink, including a prominent arm sleeve and a neck piece sporting Ogham lettering, an ancient Celtic script.
However, as longtime fans of The Night Agent may have noticed, while Basso's character Peter Sutherland features the actor's real-life tattoos throughout the first season of the show, the production team oddly decided to cover up the ink from season two onward. The showrunners wrote the missing tattoo into the series, with Peter explaining in the second episode of the season that the identifying ink was cosmetically removed ahead of his first big mission in Bangkok.

Is Annalise Basso related to Gabriel Basso?Yes, Gabriel Basso is related to Annalise Basso, a 27-year-old Missouri native and fellow actor best known for her role as LJ Folger in the post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller series Snowpiercer.
Like her brother, who is a former child star, Annalise began her professional career when she was very young, with films like Bedtime Stories (2008), Love Takes Wing (2009) and Oculus (2013), and television series such as The Red Road. Gabriel and Analise also have another sibling, sister Alexandria, who is also an actor; her credits include A Place to Die, Seduced (2016) and Alice Upside Down (2007).
Funnily enough, despite growing up in a household of professional performers, Basso told Netflix's Tudum that he started to feel jaded about acting in the years prior to joining The Night Agent: "I sort of tuned out. I took a big break and I enjoyed old spy movies," he told the outlet. Fittingly, now he's the star of his own spy thriller!

Savannah Guthrie's Mom: Chilling Online Find Could Help Identify Suspect
Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1 and there's some new, unconfirmed information that could help authorities identify who's responsible. Authorities believe that the 84-year-old mother of Today'sSavannah Guthrie, her sister, Annie Guthrie, and their brother, Camron Guthrie, may have been abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night.
However, it has been more than two weeks and no suspects have been named and no arrests have been made. More importantly, Nancy has yet to be found.
Meanwhile, the internet has been hard at work analyzing information that's been provided by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI. Many social media users have pointed out various things they've noticed, such as a possible ring underneath a glove on the hand of a person who was at Nancy's front door the night she disappeared.
It seems as though social media is also responsible for finding out that someone used Google to search for Nancy's home address in 2025 and perhaps again on January 11, 2026, according to Fox News. The information was revealed when entering Nancy's home address into Google Trends (rather than "Nancy Guthrie address").

— Sean Hannity 🇺🇸 (@seanhannity) February 19, 2026Parade was able to independently verify some of this information, but did not see the January 11 searches. There appears to have been searches of Nancy's physical address around December 26, 2025, January 5, 2026, and January 14, 2026.
Authorities have not spoken out about these searches.
Fox News' Sean Hannity spoke with Nancy Grace about the Google searches. Grace pointed out that authorities also requested residents in the area to check their security cameras for suspicious footage from January 11. It's unclear if the searches and the request are at all related.

'90s Country Star Tracy Lawrence Says 1996 Chart-Topper Has the 'Best Lyrics' of All His Songs
Tracy Lawrence is taking a trip down memory lane and looking back on one of the most iconic songs from his music catalog.
In a recent interview featured on The Song TV, the 58-year-old country star reflected on the song that he believes is a "work of art," his 1996 hit "Time Marches On."
"I think 'Time Marches On' is the best lyric of everything that I have ever recorded," Lawrence declared during the episode, pointing out that songwriter Bobby Braddock wrote the track "by himself."
"That song was life changing 'cause it like elevated my career to the next level," Lawrence added. "It took it up a notch."
"Time Marches On," the title track from Lawrence's fourth studio album, came out in January 1996, and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming his longest-running chart-topper.
View this post on Instagram"It's a work of art to me," Lawrence said while further praising the track, "'Cause it speaks about multiple generations in a family in a three-and-a-half-minute song."
The lyrics to "Time Marches On" include highly-detailed descriptions of a family as the years pass them by. One of the verses features the lines:
"Sister cries out from her baby bed
Brother runs in, feathers on his head
Mama's in her room, learnin' how to sew
Daddy's drinkin' beer, listenin' to the radio
Hank Williams sings 'Kaw-Liga' and 'Dear John'
Time marches on, time marches on"
The song ends with a flash-forward, as Lawrence sings in the final verse:
"Now sister calls herself a sexy grandma
Brother's on a diet for high cholesterol
Mama's out of touch with reality
Daddy's in the ground beneath the maple tree
As the angels sing an old Hank Williams song
Time marches on, time marches on"
"To be able to articulate that and paint those colors so vividly with words, that's a true craftsman right there," Lawrence added of Braddock's songwriting.

This Under-the-Radar Prime Video Hit Is About to Blow Up Again—Thanks to One Trailer
Prime Video has released the official trailer for DeadlochSeason 2, and it signals a shift in setting while keeping the show’s blend of noir-ish mystery and abrasive comedy. The first season’s backdrop of fictional small-town Deadloch, Tasmania, helped define the damp, claustrophobic mood. Season 2 moves the action to Australia’s Northern Territory, swapping the damp for heat and dust. According to the series’ official description, the new chapter has a “Tropical Gothic” tone, with the story beginning in Darwin before pulling the investigators into a more remote community.
The returning core cast remains the same: detectives Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) are back on the job, still operating as badly-paired and generally incompatible partners. The trailer implies their next case is personal and procedural. The central investigation starts with the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy, and escalates when a severed body part is discovered. That discovery pops up during another crisis already consuming the area; local authorities are searching for two missing backpackers. The resulting pressure-cooker environment ratchets up the tension.
What made Season 1 stand out was the way the 'whodunnit' series treated the fictional Deadloch as a character itself, with social splits and petty feuds. The Season 2 trailer suggests a similar approach. It teases a community full of gatekeepers and side hustles, where 'help' often comes with strings attached.
The trailer's visuals also generate the creepily fun discomfort, including quick flashes of crocodile-adjacent tourism and the stereotypical feeling that the landscape itself is hostile to outsiders.
Related: This Belfast-Set Netflix Comedy Is Suddenly Everywhere—What to Know Before You Hit Play
Alongside the returning leads, the new season brings back familiar faces, including Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner, and introduces new players including 'Hemsworth brother' Luke Hemsworth. That mix should help the show keep its established dynamics while giving it room to build fresh rivalries, alliances, and suspects.
Season 1 of Deadloch broke out as a surprise hit thanks to sharp writing, oddball humor, and a genuinely twisty mystery. Critics praised its dark humor and performances, and viewers pushed it through word-of-mouth and social clips. That momentum turned the series into a talked-about streaming find for mystery-comedy fans everywhere.
Deadloch Season 2 premieres globally on March 20, 2026, with the first two episodes releasing together, followed by weekly episodes through April 17. For viewers who liked Season 1’s combination of hard-edged investigation and uncomfortable humor, the trailer’s message is a relief: the tone is staying, the stakes are rising, and the setting is going to make every bad decision feel worse.
Armie Hammer’s Mom Faces Backlash Over Podcast Supporting ‘Canceled Men’
Dru Hammer, the mother of controversial actor Armie Hammer, is using her fame to give men accused of wrongdoings a platform with a new podcast.
TMZ shared a new interview with Dru about the podcast she's launching called Hollywood and Divine and how she believes "canceled men deserve a voice."
In explaining how the idea for the podcast came to be, she referenced the many accusations against her son, saying, "I have been through this personally with a member of my family. And, you know, Armie went through many trials."
She then questioned the legitimacy of the women's accusations, saying, "They actually stayed in my home. I've been to dinner with them. They were madly in love with him." Dru said Armie "didn't want to fight back" against the accusations, but she did, painting a picture of her podcast as the opportunity for men like Armie to share their side.
Dru Wants to Ask What These Men Learned From Their MistakesTMZ directly asked her about the purpose of her podcast, with Dru saying that she wants to "talk to these people and say, 'What have you learned from these mistakes?' Because we've all made mistakes... We all have to pay our [penance], if you will, but we want to give people the opportunity to talk, and maybe not even just men, maybe women as well."
One major aspect of Dru's podcast news that caused outrage was her list of "dream guests" to appear on the show, which included Kanye West, Kevin Spacey, and Matt Lauer, who have all been accused of sexual assault, as well as convicted rapist Danny Masterson, who is currently in prison serving 30 years to life. TMZ highlighted how "women, in particular, feel that this is disrespectful to victims."
Dru cut in, saying, "Yes, and rightfully so," although she didn't directly address the backlash beyond this. Instead, she told a story about another person on the list, Mel Gibson, as a "perfect example about that." She claimed he told her backstage during his 2016 interview with Kathie Lee Gifford that he "repented" for his past antisemitic comments, was studying Judaism, and was "in love with the Jewish people now."

Another accused her of being an "Enabler x 10," while other comments included, "Mom needs to have several seats!" and "Stop making excuses for your offspring." There didn't appear to be any responses in support of Dru or her podcast idea.

'Stand by Me' Star Is Returning to Stephen King's Story 40 Years Later
Wil Wheaton will narrate the audiobook version of Stephen King's 'The Body', 40 years after starring in the film adaptation that made him famous.
Simon & Schuster Audio announced in February that Wheaton has been cast to read King's 1982 novella for a new audiobook releasing March 24, 2026. The casting reunites Wheaton with source material that defined his early career. He played Gordie Lachance in Rob Reiner's 1986 film Stand by Me, which adapted King's coming-of-age story about four boys searching for a dead body in rural Oregon.
King has previously identified the short novella 'The Body' as one of his personal favorite works. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the author listed it among his top picks from his extensive bibliography, alongside novels like Misery and The Stand.
'The Body' first appeared in King's 1982 collection Different Seasons, which also included the novellas Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption and Apt Pupil. All three stories were adapted into acclaimed films during the 1980s and 1990s, but Stand by Me became the most culturally significant, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay and launching the careers of Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'Connell.
Related: Will Stephen King’s 'The Mist' Remake Change That Devastating Ending?
The film grossed $52.3 million at the box office and introduced mainstream audiences to King's non-horror fiction. Unlike his supernatural thrillers, 'The Body' is a tale about childhood friendship, loss, and the end of innocence, all themes that resonated with 1980s audiences and continue to connect with readers today.
Wheaton's audiobook will mark the first time the actor has professionally engaged with the material since 1986. He has built a successful second career as an audiobook narrator, recording titles including Ernest Cline's Ready Player One and Ready Player Two, as well as various Dungeons & Dragons adventures. His work has earned multiple Earphones Awards and Audie Award nominations.
The new recording comes as King experiences renewed prominence in popular culture. Multiple adaptations of his work are currently in production or recently premiered, including MGM+'s The Institute, which was renewed for a second season in February 2026. Netflixalso recently added the 2016 miniseries 11.22.63 to its platform, where it climbed to the streaming service's top 10 most-watched shows within 24 hours.
'The Body' will be released as a standalone audiobook from Simon & Schuster Audio on March 24, 2026. The recording is available for pre-order through major audiobook retailers including Audible and Apple Books.
The timing coincides with the 40th anniversary of Stand by Me, which premiered August 8, 1986. Neither Wheaton nor King has publicly commented on the casting, though Stephen King's official website confirmed the announcement on February 5, 2026.

After the members pursued solo projects for a year, the band got back together and released their fifth studio album, Trampoline, in 1998.
Originally formed in Miami by Raul Malo, Paul Deakin, Roberty Reynolds and Ben Peeler in 1989, The Mavericks signed with MCA Nashville Records a year after they independently released their self-titled debut album. After recording four albums together, the group temporarily disbanded in 2000, but then reunited again for only a year to create a second self-titled album in 2003 with Sanctuary Records.
After multiple lineup changes and time apart, the band reunited for the second time in 2012 and has so far released one EP and seven studio albums, with their most recent being Moon & Stars in 2024. Additionally, The Mavericks have put out two other live albums: Live in Austin Texas and All Night Live: Volume 1, in 2004 and 2016, respectively.
