Sporty Spice almost got sent packing over a four-letter word. Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm opened up about a tense moment from the Spice Girls' early days during a recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, revealing an incident that nearly cost her a spot in the group, months before they'd even released their debut single.

The moment took place at the 1996 BRIT Awards, just five months before "Wannabe" hit airwaves and turned the group into household names. At the time, Chisholm said, the Spice Girls were still relative unknowns to the public, though industry buzz was already building. She recalled the excitement of the night, sitting at a table with Lenny Kravitz and soaking in an evening fueled by champagne and celebration.

But the night took a turn as the group was leaving. In the middle of what she described as an unspecified dispute, Chisholm turned to bandmate Victoria Beckham and told her to "f*** off." She went home, went to bed, and woke up the next morning to consequences she hadn't anticipated.

According to Chisholm, bandmates Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell didn't hold back their disapproval, and the group's manager called her in for a serious talking-to. She was told in blunt terms that a repeat incident would mean the end of her time in the group - a warning that left her badly shaken.

"I was in trouble... I thought I was gonna lose everything," she said of the fallout, reflecting on how close she'd come to losing the dream she'd worked toward since childhood.

Chisholm has spoken before about how that moment reshaped her afterward, admitting to PEOPLE in a previous interview that the swift discipline led her to become hyper-vigilant about her own behavior.  By her own account, that mindset extended into other parts of her life in ways that became difficult for her mental health over time.

Twenty-five years after leaving Voivod, Eric "E-Force" Forrest is back onstage with the legendary Canadian metal band.

The former vocalist and bassist reunited with Voivod on Friday, July 10, kicking off the band's summer European tour at Slaughter Club in Paderno Dugnano, Italy. Forrest is temporarily filling in for longtime frontman Denis "Snake" Bélanger, who stepped away from the tour to attend to a family matter.

The reunion marks Forrest's first performances with Voivod since his departure in 2001.

In a statement announcing the temporary lineup change, the band explained that canceling the tour was initially considered before Bélanger suggested bringing Forrest back into the fold.

"The band unanimously agreed that family matters most and were set to cancel the upcoming run of summer European shows," Voivod said in a statement. "Snake suggested perhaps the band could carry on if E-Force was available and interested. After all, Eric is part of the Voivod family.

"Rocky, Chewy and Away look forward to performing with E-Force and will be thinking of Snake," the band added. "The show will go on and the Cosmic Voivod Multiverse keeps expanding. We are Connected!”

Forrest, who fronted Voivod from 1994 to 2000 and appeared on the studio albums Negatron and Phobos, said he was surprised by the invitation.

"Greetings to all! I am honored and blessed to be asked to fill in for Snake this summer, to keep the Voivod fans, band, legacy in motion!!" added Forrest. "I'm very thrilled to be part of this tour. I never ever imagined this, but I'm happy and motivated to step in and take care of business… Can't wait to see you all!"

The opening show featured a career-spanning setlist that included classics such as "Tribal Convictions," "The Unknown Knows," "Ravenous Medicine" and "Fix My Heart," along with a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine" before closing with the band's self-titled anthem, "Voivod."

The reunion comes during a challenging time for both singers. Earlier this year, Bélanger's partner, Christine McDonald, revealed she was battling stage four colorectal cancer, while Forrest disclosed his own diagnosis of stage three prostate cancer in 2024. Despite his health challenges, Forrest said he was able to clear his schedule after confirming his condition was stable enough to join the tour.

The timing is also significant as Forrest prepares to release Voivod Revisited, an upcoming E-Force album featuring newly recorded versions of songs from his era with the band, alongside new material and a cover song.

Although the reunion is expected to be temporary, it offers fans a rare opportunity to see one of Voivod's most memorable lineups revisited onstage. Twenty-five years after his departure, Forrest's return serves as a reminder that, even after decades apart, some musical partnerships are never truly left behind.

Rosie O'Donnell knew exactly when it was time to walk away from television, and the number that convinced her was hard to ignore.

The comedian, 64, exclusively told Page Six that she made the decision to leave 'The Rosie O'Donnell Show' after learning she had $100 million in the bank.

"When I heard that number, I thought, 'OK, now I'm done,'" O'Donnell recalled. "And everyone was like, 'Why are you leaving?'"

Her talk show ran from 1996 to 2002 and was a massive success, so much so that Warner Bros. reportedly offered her another $100 million to stay on for two more years. She turned it down, a decision that reportedly stunned studio executives at the time.

O'Donnell said the reasoning was simple. Once she knew she had enough to take care of her family, her philanthropy and even strangers, she wanted to prioritize something money couldn't replace: time with her children.

"I wanted to be at their softball games," she said. "I wanted to be at school plays."

She added that she's never understood the mindset of chasing more wealth for its own sake. "I don't get the billionaires," she said. "I don't get how people only measure their life in money, not what they can do for other people."

O'Donnell, who relocated to Ireland in recent years, is now back in the U.S. with her one-woman show, 'Common Knowledge,' running on Broadway. The show touches on her life abroad, her childhood, and raising her youngest child, Clay, who is autistic.

She said the show's central theme is about motherhood, reflecting on what it means to raise children after losing her own mother young. She's also spoken about how parenting Clay has shifted her perspective.

"It's allowed me to see how I parented when I was younger in the midst of a high level of fame versus how I parent now," she said, "which creates an intimacy in some way."

Hilary Duff's concert stop in Los Angeles had an unlikely twist when a group of women got into a fight.

Duff, a former Disney star, 38, rose to fame as Lizzie McGuire on the children’s network, went on to a successful film career with movies like Agent Cody Banks and A Cinderella Story. She also became a pop star with hits like “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday.” Duff parlayed her career into adulthood, becoming a regular on Younger and the star of How I Met Your Father. Hilary Duff Recently Opened Up About Her Troubled Relationship With Sister, Haylie

In the last year, much of the discussion over Duff has been rumors that she and her sister, Haylie Duff, have been estranged for years. In an interview with CBS Mornings, Duff confirmed that a new song on the album, “We Don’t Talk,” is officially about her estranged sister. But she also went a step further, delving into the duo’s estranged relationship.

“It’s definitely about my sister. And just absolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment, and really struggled with thinking about including that on the record,” she said, noting that so many people are existing in the world “without their other half.”

Ultimately, Duff said she decided to include it on the record because it’s “her truth,” and it’s just so relatable.

It’s literally just my experience — and that’s really all I feel like sharing,” Duff added.

A California restaurant is finding itself at the center of a heated parenting debate after introducing a policy aimed at keeping disruptive behavior in check.

According to Today, Chez Xue, a Bay Area restaurant owned by You You Xue, reminds families that while children are welcome, they are expected to respect fellow diners.

"We are not a playground," reads a notice posted on the restaurant's digital menu. The policy asks parents to ensure children remain seated and avoid running, shouting, or banging utensils on tables. Families may also be charged if reckless behavior results in damaged property.

Despite the attention the policy has received online, Xue insists the restaurant isn't targeting children.

"This is not an anti-child campaign," he told the outlet. "We're not banning children. We're not discriminating against children."

Instead, Xue says his frustration is directed at inattentive parents.

"I think it's the responsibility of the parents to turn to their child and say, 'Hey, we don't do that here,'" he said, adding that if a child continues disruptive behavior, parents should step outside with them until they've calmed down.

The restaurant's website even lists several examples of items that child patrons damaged that the restaurant billed parents for, including a $327.03 credit card machine that was shattered, a table carving that cost $109.38 to repair, and a broken teacup.

For Xue, however, the goal isn't collecting money.

"We're not in the business of making people break things and buy them," he added. "But anything that breaks comes straight out of my pocket."

According to Xue, the policy has dramatically reduced disruptive incidents in the dining room. Online, though, opinions remain divided, with some parents applauding the restaurant for setting clear expectations while others argue the rules are too strict.

"BRAVO on your policy fining families for disruptive children," wrote one patron under one of the restaurant's recent Instagram posts.

Others disagreed. "Society has become so anti-children. Especially for children with disabilities," shared another. "Those parents already sacrifice so much. They should be able to enjoy a family meal. Without feeling ashamed or ostracized."

Written in 1963, singer Linda Ronstadt took the breakup ballad "You're No Good" to number one with her cover version over ten years later in 1974.

Ronstadt began performing the song at her live shows at the suggestion of her band member, Kenny Edwards. "You're No Good" became a staple for her to use as the closing number for performances.

While working on her album Heart Like a Wheel, Ronstadt made the last-minute decision to include "You're No Good" on the tracklist. It took some tries to get it right; originally, the song had more of an R&B feel, but Ronstadt ended up vetoing that version, saying, "It was just the wrong groove for me. I don’t think I knew how to phrase around [the musicians], certainly no fault of theirs. They were fantastic."

The album version, with much more of a southern rock feel to it, was recorded on July 5, 1974. Capitol Records, Ronstadt's label, was unsure of what track to use as the lead single off of the album and ended up selecting "You're No Good" a week after the album's release.

"You're No Good" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 15, 1975, the only song of Ronstadt's to do so. In part due to the single's success, Heart Like a Wheel became a massive hit as an album, achieving double platinum status and topping the Billboard album chart. The album was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

While the success of the song "You're No Good" for Ronstadt was fairly undeniable, she felt differently about the song, saying in a 1983 interview, "I thought the production on 'You're No Good' was very good but [that] I didn't sing it very well. As a song it was just an afterthought. It's not the kind of song I got a lot of satisfaction out of singing."

However, the song has withstood the test of time and become a classic breakup anthem, with Billboard listing it amongst their "100 Best Breakup Songs."

Disney's live-action 'Moana' is making waves at the box office, but it'll take a lot more than a strong start to turn a profit.

The movie, starring Catherine Laga'aia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui, pulled in $4.5 million during Thursday previews. Industry estimates project an opening weekend between $60 million and $65 million, though some forecasts are softer, hovering closer to $40 million.

That range matters, because 'Moana's' production budget alone reportedly sits at $250 million, not counting global marketing costs. A softer opening could leave the film struggling to recoup its investment domestically. International audiences may help close the gap, with projections estimating another $70 million to $75 million from overseas markets.

For comparison, other Disney live-action remakes have landed on both ends of the spectrum. 'Dumbo' opened to $45 million in 2019, and 2025's 'Snow White' debuted with $42 million, both considered underwhelming for the studio. Meanwhile, 'Lilo & Stitch,' 'The Lion King' and 'Beauty and the Beast' all opened above $100 million and went on to become major hits.

Timing could also play a role in how the remake performs. It's launching just two years after 'Moana 2' became a billion-dollar hit, opening with a massive $225 million over Thanksgiving weekend in 2024. The original 'Moana' also performed well in 2016, opening at $56 million on its way to a $680 million worldwide total.

'Moana' isn't the only new release competing for audiences this weekend. Warner Bros.' horror sequel 'Evil Dead Burn' is estimated to open between $15 million and $20 million after a $2.3 million preview haul.

In comparison, A24's 'The Invite' expands nationwide with hopes of adding $4 million to $5 million. Meanwhile, holdovers 'Minions & Monsters' and 'Toy Story 5' are expected to bring in another $17 million to $22 million and $18 million to $20 million, respectively, in their following weekends.

Kate Middleton has a standing Saturday date with Centre Court and she didn't miss it this year. In a stunning red, peplum dress by Rouland Mouret, The Princess of Wales, 44, took her usual front-row seat in the Royal Box for the Wimbledon ladies' singles final on July 11. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (a role Queen Elizabeth handed her in 2016) Kate's presence at the final is practically written into the tournament's DNA at this point, right down to her post-match duty of presenting trophies to the winner and runner-up.

This year's final also builds on a summer that's already marked a turning point for Kate. She made her 2026 Wimbledon debut back on July 2, slipping into the crowd to watch fourth-round action and greet fans who'd camped out overnight for a shot at a seat — her first appearance at the tournament's early rounds since 2023. That's no small detail: in both 2024 and 2025, Kate scaled back her Wimbledon presence to finals weekend only, as she stepped back from royal duties following her March 2024 cancer diagnosis. She announced she was in remission in January 2025 and has been easing back into a fuller schedule ever since.

Between the family outing, the wardrobe, and the warm welcome, Kate proved once again she's got Wimbledon down to game, set and match.

Christie Brinkley is rethinking soulmates after four marriages.

Brinkley, 72, who rose to fame as a model and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl in the ’80s, has been on the cover of hundreds of magazines over the years. She parlayed that beautiful face into an acting career and is also a proud mother. But after four divorces, the blonde beauty said she's giving a little more thought to the idea of what it means to have a "soulmate."

"I'm a believer in soulmates," told Social Life Magazine. "But I don't know if they last forever in the way that I thought they would."

When it comes to Brinkley’s lookalike daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Maureen McCormick has been married for more than 40 years, but she once had a serious relationship with a popular TV star whom she thought she would marry.

In her 2008 memoir Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, McCormick revealed that she was in a serious relationship with actor Gregory Harrison in the late 1970s and even thought they’d get married.

“It was love at first sight,” The Brady Bunch star wrote of her romance with Harrison. “He was my type: dark, handsome, and good-natured. He liked sports, played guitar, and was incredibly romantic. Our affair was hot and heavy. I actually thought he was the one I would marry.“

McCormick admitted that she was struggling with drug addiction at the time, and Harrison ended the relationship after she wouldn’t let him into her apartment during a particularly bad binge.

“He ended up walking away from the relationship,” she wrote, adding that the breakup caused her to examine her life and work towards getting healthy.

Just after McCormick found fame on TheBrady Bunch, Harrison was a star on the  1977 sci-fi series Logan’s Run and the TV movie The Gathering. From 1979 to 1986,  he was a TV heartthrob on Trapper John M.D., playing  George Alonzo “Gonzo” Gates for seven seasons on the CBS medical drama. The actor went on to a role in Falcon Crest as well as a slew of TV movies and big-screen credits. Harrison married CHiPs actress Randi Oakes in 1980 after meeting her on Battle of the Network Stars.

"Talk about a flimsy way for a 45-year marriage to begin,” Harrison joked on Steve Kmetko’s podcast, Still Here Hollywood. “She was in spandex, and the water was cold, and that was all it took. It was lust at first sight. And  somehow a year later that lusty first meet had turned into the deepest  friendship of my life, and we've been married for 45 years.”

The actor also shared the secret to his long marriage. “Well, they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I've been gone at least half the time in our marriage. So, maybe that's true,” he said.

McCormick ultimately found sobriety as well as her forever love. She married her husband, Michael Cummings, in 1985 after meeting him at church.

In 2025, she told People magazine that her marriage has lasted so long because she and Cummings are able to celebrate their “differences,” let things go, and maintain a sense of humor.

In late 2025, McCormick had a mini reunion of sorts with her former boyfriend, Harrison. The two appeared in a charity It’s a Wonderful Life table read for the Ed Asner Family Center & Families with Special Needs, per a PR Newswire press release.

After more than two decades welcoming viewers into her iconic Hamptons kitchen, Ina Garten is opening another door.

The beloved Barefoot Contessa star is launching her first-ever podcast, Happy Hour With Ina Garten, this fall, according to The New York Times. The new video and audio series will stream on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, giving fans a chance to see a more relaxed side of the longtime Food Network personality.

Rather than preparing elaborate meals, Garten will mix cocktails and mocktails while sitting down for candid conversations with celebrity guests inside her New York City apartment.

"It's happening in real time; it's not overedited, so it feels authentic in a way that nothing else does," Garten told the outlet. "I'm always in pursuit of that messiness of real life."

The project marks another chapter for Garten, whose career began far from television. According to her official biography, Garten was working in the White House Office of Management and Budget in 1978 when she spotted a New York Times classified ad for a specialty food store called Barefoot Contessa in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. Despite having no experience in the food business, she purchased the shop, transformed it into a beloved gourmet destination over the next 18 years, and later launched a second career as a bestselling cookbook author before bringing Barefoot Contessa to Food Network in 2002.

The podcast format also gives Garten something television couldn't.

"It was kind of younger and cooler, and it was the thing that was moving fast," she told the newspaper. "I thought it would be really fun to be in that stream."

Now, instead of inviting audiences into her kitchen, Garten is inviting them to pull up a chair, pour a drink, and join the conversation. Already, she's longing to welcome an A-list guest. Bunnie Xo made a bold call, and she's not backing down from it.

The podcast host, 46, opened up on the Friday, July 10 episode of her 'Dumb Blonde' podcast about why she chose to delete a previous episode discussing her split from husband Jelly Roll, even after it became one of her most-watched videos ever.

"I took it down because I realized I just don't want one of the hardest moments of my life to become a permanent headline," Bunnie explained. "I don't want to live in that."

The episode reportedly earned her $100,000, but Bunnie made clear that the payday wasn't a factor in her decision. "If I cared about the money, I would've left it up and let it get another 100 grand," she said, adding that she also isn't chasing views. "I don't care about the views, I don't care about the money."

Jelly Roll, 41, filed for divorce from Bunnie in May after nearly 10 years of marriage. Two days after news of the split broke, Bunnie addressed the breakup on her podcast, sharing an emotional, unfiltered account of what she was going through behind the scenes.

Looking back, she said she's since reached a different place emotionally. "That episode served a purpose for me at that time, and it was real, it was honest," she said. "But I'm not in that same place anymore."

Bunnie pushed back on the idea that she's moved on too quickly, noting she'd privately been processing the end of her marriage long before the news went public. "I've been mourning the loss of my marriage for at least a year," she said, adding that she doesn't want the divorce to become her defining story. "I don't want to be the poster child for divorce."

Despite the split, Bunnie confirmed in the original episode that she and Jelly Roll remain close and are expecting a baby together via surrogate, describing their relationship as unconventional but amicable.

The Eagles took their time to release their 1979 album after almost a year and a half of development and recording sessions that gave way to one of their finer classic ballads, "The Sad Café."

Many fans would know that by the late '70s, the Eagles were going through a rough patch of distractions and personal animosity. Before the band temporarily broke up in 1980, they released the album The Long Rung that had mixed reviews from critics. Among the tracks was "The Sad Café," which many felt was the highlight of the album and a ballad that went back to the band's known sound.

The "slow, gentle" ballad was written by Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, and JD Souther and is often tagged an nostalic classic looking back at the early years of the Eagles' career. Before becoming rock icons, they were a backing band for Linda Ronstadt and played at well-known Los Angeles hot spots. "The Sad Café" is actually inspired by a real-life restaurant and music club the members would frequent before fame.

Dan Tana's was an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood where the band would meet up for years and think about their big dreams of becoming musicians. It was also reported that the Santa Monica Boulevard nightclub, Troubadour, was a heavy inspiration. The club was where Henley and Frey met and became friends before recruiting the rest of the band.

With the Eagles having become a household name in the rock world, "The Sad Café" was a nostalgic way for them to look back at how things were before the inner-band tensions and a simpler time.

"We could feel an era passing. The crowd that hung out in the Troubadour and the bands that were performing there were changing," said Henley to Rolling Stone. "The train tracks that had run down the middle of Santa Monica Boulevard had been ripped out. The train no longer came through—the same train that Steve Martin had once led an entire Troubadour audience to hop aboard and ride up to La Cienega Boulevard, then walk back to the club. Those remarkable freewheeling times were receding into the distance.”

For many, the song evoked the emotion of when people were more optimistic and things were more hopeful for young musicians. It was a melancholic track about the glory days being over. Alongside the nightclub and restaurant, the title for "The Sad Café" was inspired by Carson McCullers' 1951 book The Ballad of the Sad Café.

The track failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 as a standalone single, but was still cemented as one of the Eagles' best songs. It was even dedicated to the band's road manager, John Barrick. He was also a bartender at Troubadour and died years before the track's release.

Bring Me The Horizon are treating long-time fans to a groundbreaking weekend of performances, and they're making history while doing it.

The British metal band has been revisiting their debut album in honor of its 20th anniversary, recently releasing a re-recorded version of the career-defining Count Your Blessings.

Count Your Blessings | Repented features updated versions of the original ten tracks, along with an additional new song titled "Dehumanized".

"I think a lot of people think that we hate that record or are embarrassed by it because we don't play it," frontman Oli Sykes said in a statement. "Really, we were just always disappointed with how it sounded. It was never about rewriting history. It was about making the record we'd always heard in our heads."

On July 10, the band played the first of two huge shows at the B.E.C. Arena in Manchester, England. During the show, they played the re-released album in full, which meant that some songs were unearthed for the first time in decades. One song being the fan-favorite interlude track "Slow Dance," which was performed live for the first time since 2006, per Setlist.FM.

The heavy instrumental track is the sixth track on Count Your Blessings | Repented and has long received praise from fans.

"I miss when bands released instrumental bangers like this." one person wrote in the comments of the official lyric video.

"THIS is what the edge of your seat was made for! I always loved this instrumental," commented another. "Impossible to skip!"

Formed in 2004 in Sheffield, England, Bring Me The Horizon became a pivotal part of the mid-2000s metal scene. The band has won countless awards over the course of their 22-year career, including the award for Best Rock/Alternative Act at the BRIT Awards 2024.

On July 11, 1960, an unknown first-time novelist named Harper Lee published "To Kill a Mockingbird." Sixty-six years later, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel remains one of the most celebrated books in literary history, having been named the greatest or best novel of all time in multiple reader polls and critical rankings.
