Johnny Galecki is trading family time for stage time again. The Big Bang Theory star is returning to acting after a seven-year break and he's doing it in style. According to a Variety exclusive, Galecki is set to portray legendary playwright Tennessee Williams in the Chicago stage production of Kowalski, marking his first professional acting role since stepping back from the spotlight in 2019.

"I've been fortunate enough to spend more time living than performing," Galecki said on his Instagram. "It turns out those aren't separate pursuits for me." He added that the return feels especially meaningful given the location (*Chicago) is where he first started his career. "Honored to return to the stage and in my city by the lake... where I first began working, as one of my literary heroes, Tennessee Williams", he said.

The play, written by Gregg Ostrin for Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre Company and directed by Colin Hanlon, will run from Sept. 19 to Oct. 25. Set in 1947 Provincetown, the story imagines the charged first encounter between Williams and a young Marlon Brando. A meeting that would go on to shape "A Streetcar Named Desire," the 1951 film that earned Brando his first Oscar nomination and cemented his reputation for intense method acting.

Galecki elaborated on how the project came together, crediting a combination of timing, talent, and personal readiness. "The planets aligned. Gregg's writing, Colin's vision, and the feeling that after seven years of quietly observing life, I finally had something new to bring back to the work," he explained, referring to the play's writer, Gregg Ostrin, and director, Colin Hanlon. "Add to that the privilege of portraying one of my artistic heroes, and it became impossible to say no."

Galecki's return to the stage isn't entirely new territory - he previously appeared in the Tony-nominated Broadway play The Little Dog Laughed. Long before his Emmy-nominated run as Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory, Galecki spent years on Roseanne from 1992 to 2018, along with credits including American Dreamer, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Vanilla Sky, Hancock, Entourage, In Time, and Rings, as well as voice work on American Dad, Family Guy, and A Dog's Journey.

Galecki's break from acting followed the end of his run on The Big Bang Theory in 2019 -*the same year he welcomed his first child. Now, with his family firmly established, Galecki is stepping back into the spotlight - proving that sometimes the best second acts come from taking the time to live first.

Thriller films have a tendency to fill theaters due to their enthralling plots. While not every thriller is considered a movie masterpiece, some have received accolades from both critics and audiences alike. For instance, Collider recently released a list of "the 15 most universally loved thriller movies, ranked."

The list, published on July 10, featured popular thrillers like 1995's Se7en, The Silence of the Lambs from 1991, Memento, released in 2000, and Rear Window from 1954. Collider put late director David Lynch's 2001 film Mulholland Drive, starring Naomi Watts as actress Betty Elms, at the top of the ranking. The publication suggested that the film has remained so beloved due to its use of surrealism that causes its disturbing storyline to be difficult to unfold, making it an almost interactive mystery for the audience.

Mulholland Drive holds a score of 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

David Lynch Revealed that 'Mulholland Drive' Was Originally Going to Be a Television Series

In an interview for Criterion Collection Special Features of Mulholland Drive, alongside Watts, Lynch revealed that the film was supposed to be "a possible spinoff" of his popular ABC television series, Twin Peaks. However, an ABC executive wasn't impressed with the proposed show's pilot, killing the project.

Lynch, who died in 2025 at the age of 78, clarified he viewed the situation as "a gigantic blessing," as he eventually realized Mulholland Drive could be made into a feature film. Lynch also shared that his friend, French filmmaker Pierre Edelman, helped him fund the movie. In addition, Lynch said by the time the film was greenlit, he "had zero ideas" about the overall storyline. According to the director, ideas for the film finally came to him after a meditation session.

"This is a true story, that night the night of the green light, with no ideas, I sat down and did my meditating. And this particular meditation, I dive down in there and, as I say, like a string of pearls one idea after another came, and I knew exactly what to do," said Lynch during the interview.

Antoinette Bower, an actress known for numerous roles, including appearing in The Twilight Zone and Star Trek, has died at the age of 93.

Her friend, Carlotta Glackin, told the Hollywood Reporter that Bower died in an Eagle Rock senior retirement home in Los Angeles on April 30.

She also starred in the 1972 film Superbeast, along with her role in Prom Night, where she played the wife of Leslie Nielsen and the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis. She also appeared in The Evil That Men Do (1984).

In an episode of TheTwilight Zone titled  “Probe 7, Over and Out,” which premiered in November 1963, she played Eve Norda, a woman stranded on a planet. Then, in Star Trek, she appeared in the season 2 episode “Catspaw,” which premiered in October 1967.

Other television shows she had roles in include Adventures in Paradise, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Hong Kong, Wagon Train, Thriller, Hawaiian Eye, and Perry Mason. She also appeared on on Combat!, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Burke’s Law, The Wild Wild West, I Spy, The Fugitive, The Invaders, The Big Valley, Bonanza, Mannix, Hawaii Five-O, Get Smart, Hogan’s Heroes, Mission: Impossible, The F.B.I., Columbo, Kojak and Murder, She Wrote and The Thorn Birds.

For three seasons, Bower had a recurring role on the TV drama Neon Rider. She then left acting.

Following the news, many paid tribute to the actress.

"Just found out that one of my favorite actresses passed away earlier this year at 93 #RIP Antoinette Bower," one person wrote.

"Rest in peace Antoinette Bower. Was great in Columbo," another person commented.

Ella Langley is the queen of the crossover hit right now. One of country music’s biggest superstars on the charts, the singer-songwriter has been dominating with her upbeat heartbreak ballad, “Choosin’ Texas,” which spent 11 weeks at the top of iTunes and has enjoyed an even longer reign on other Billboard tallies.

This week, however, Langley was unexpectedly dethroned by an ’80s icon.

Bonnie Tyler, the Grammy-nominated powerhouse behind some of rock’s most unforgettable anthems, died earlier this week at the age of 75, and fans immediately turned to her timeless catalog.

According to Forbes, Tyler became the “queen of iTunes in America” as listeners rushed to revisit the songs that defined her legendary career.

“Whenever such a talent departs this world,” the outlet writes, “fans respond by turning to streaming sites and websites like iTunes to stream and buy the biggest and most memorable tunes and albums from the artist, and currently, Tyler is the queen of iTunes in America.”

The response was immediate. Eight of Tyler’s greatest hits appeared on the iTunes Top Songs chart, with the singer sweeping the top three spots: “Total Eclipse of the Heart” landed at No. 1, followed by “Holding Out for a Hero” at No. 2 and “It’s a Heartache” at No. 3.

“Her current performance is especially notable,” Forbes adds, “considering the fact that it is Friday (July 10), the beginning of a new tracking week within the global music industry. Fridays are when the vast majority of musicians drop new releases, as it gives their work a full seven days in which to sell as well as possible and perhaps become charting wins.”

Elsewhere in the Top 40, a second edition of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” and "Straight From the Heart” make appearances, while lower on the chart sit “If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man).” “Together,” a 2025 collaboration with electronic dance producer David Guetta and Hypaton, makes its debut at No. 174.

Tyler’s march up the chart pushes Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” to No. 4. Meanwhile, debuts from Anthrax and Shania Twain begin their tenure in the Top 10, per Forbes.

According to a statement on Tyler’s website, the beloved Welsh singer, born Gaynor Hopkins, died “unexpectedly” on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at a hospital in Portugal.

“Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in a hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” the statement read. “We will issue a further statement shortly, but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”

Nearly three decades after Princess Diana's death at 36, her memory remains a meaningful part of daily life for Prince Harry and his family.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, attended Scotty's Summer Festival at Maxstoke Castle in Warwickshire, England, on Saturday, July 11, where he shared how he, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, honor his late mother on both her birthday and the anniversary of her death.

During a Q&A session at the 200-plus-person event, which marked Prince Harry's final public appearance of his U.K. visit, he was asked by a teenager if he does anything special to commemorate the anniversary of his mother's death on August 31 or her birthday on July 1. Harry's response was a "sweet" one.

"Yes, we do lemon drizzle cake," Harry told the 16-year-old, per People. The teen also experienced the loss of a parent, after his father, Reverend John Hill, a member of the Royal Navy, died in 2010.

Although Prince Harry stepped back from his royal duties after relocating to California with Markle, 44, in 2020, the Duke of Sussex continues his charitable work as a Global Ambassador for Scotty's Little Soldiers, a British nonprofit that supports bereaved military children and young people.

Prince Harry said that baking a lemon drizzle cake in honor of his late mother each year is a meaningful tradition for his family. Princess Diana died in 1997 after suffering injuries in a car crash in Paris when Harry was just 12 years old.

Harry's comments come amid a U.K. reunion for him and his family, with Markle and their two children making their first visit in four years to see their grandfather, King Charles, and Queen Camilla this week.

The King, 77, and the Queen, 78, hosted the Sussex family at Highgrove House, King Charles' private country home in Gloucestershire, on the afternoon of July 10.

While the visit made headlines, both the Sussexes and the royal family have chosen not to release photos from the gathering, and are keeping details of the meeting private.

Donald Iwerks, a pioneer in cinematic storytelling and immersive entertainment for Disney, died on July 9 at the age of 96.

Iwerks developed the 360-degree Circle-Vision used in Circarama U.S.A, an attraction at Disneyland’s Tomorrowland that opened in 1955. He also worked on the creation of specialized cameras and optical printers used in Mary Poppins.

Iwerks was also known as the model for the hands of the Abraham Lincoln audio-animatronic at Disneyland. The hand casts were soon used on other animatronics that have appeared in Disney parks around the world.

“Don embodied that rare combination of heart, ingenuity, and passion that has always defined Disney,” Josh D’Amaro, Disney’s CEO, said in a statement to Variety. “Through his innovative contributions to some of our most iconic films and attractions, he helped create experiences that have delighted generations of fans around the world. All of us at The Walt Disney Company will miss him deeply, and we send our most heartfelt condolences to his family, whose enduring connection to Disney has helped shape its legacy for over a century.” 

According to an obituary shared by his family, Iwerks died at the Ojai Community Memorial Care Center, “surrounded by the love of family and friends.”

“Those who knew Don remember not only his extraordinary accomplishments, but the quiet grace with which he achieved them,” Iwerks’ family shared. “Like his father, he delighted in solving problems, sharing knowledge, and celebrating the successes of others. Humble, endlessly curious, and unfailingly optimistic, he believed every challenge held the possibility of a solution.”

They added that up until the end of his life, Iwerks was still sketching new inventions.

“To the world, Don was an engineer, inventor, and Disney Legend,” the family said. “To those fortunate enough to know him, he was a devoted husband and father, a trusted mentor, a steadfast friend, and an eternal optimist.”

In 2009, Iwerks was named a Disney Legend at the company’s annual D23 Expo. In 1997, he received the Gordon E. Sawyer Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors.

Jackson Browne's recent performance of one of his beloved songs was so powerful that some of Hollywood's biggest names were starstruck.

Browne, 77, a legendary singer-songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member known for songs like "Doctor My Eyes," Running on Empty," and "The Pretender," took the stage this weekend at the Hollywood Bowl during the "Music From the Films of Wes Anderson." The event welcomed fans of the director, known for iconic films like The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Fans Had a Powerful Response to Browne's Performance

It wasn't just Anderson who had a powerful response to Browne's touching performance of "These Days." In the comments, attendees shared how emotional the moment was.

For nearly fifteen years, an unresolved child support dispute followed Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller long after their marriage ended, and this month it closed with a number far smaller than either side spent years arguing over. Mueller had asked a court for $15.3 million. The suit settled for $500,000.

The dispute dates back to a 2010 order requiring Sheen to pay Mueller $55,000 a month in child support. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Mueller claimed Sheen made full payments through 2010 but began sending partial payments, or none at all, starting in July 2011. In December 2025, she filed a petition seeking $8,967,600 in back support plus $6,418,643 in accrued interest.

Sheen's camp pushed back hard at the time. A representative said that Mueller "has been in and out of rehab for the past 15 years, while Charlie has had 100% custody of the kids, which is why she is not entitled to any child support."

The new agreement, obtained by PEOPLE, splits the $500,000 into two payments. The first $250,000 was due Friday, July 10. The second $250,000 is due by September 1. Together, the payments settle child support and interest covering the period from March 2011 through July 2026.

The settlement also changes how the exes will handle costs going forward. Starting July 1, 2026, each parent becomes financially responsible for their twin sons, 17-year-old Max and Bob, during the time the boys are in that parent's custody. Sheen and Mueller will continue sharing joint legal custody, but the arrangement stays tied to Mueller's sobriety. Court filings state that if she tests positive for drugs or alcohol, Sheen gains sole custody "until further court order or written agreement of the parties," a condition that reportedly can take effect on short notice.

Sheen has said publicly that he has been sober since December 2017. Mueller has spoken openly about ongoing struggles with addiction, including a relapse in 2023.

The twins' primary residence remains with Sheen, though the agreement preserves what the filing calls Mueller's "reasonable and flexible periods of custody and visitation," with both parents committed to frequent contact with their sons. After years of litigation that outlasted the marriage itself by more than a decade, the case is now formally closed.

If you fired up a new Cuisinart grill for barbecue season, you may want to stop using part of it.

Conair is recalling about 12,660 Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grills because the tempered glass on the built-in pizza oven can shatter during use. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on July 9, warning that the shattering glass poses a serious laceration risk. The agency says it has received 37 reports of the glass breaking, including one that resulted in a fire. No injuries have been reported so far.

Which Grills Are Affected

The recall covers the stainless-steel Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill, model number CGG-6331, which pairs a standard grill with a griddle, a stovetop burner and a pizza oven topped with a tempered-glass window. The model number is printed on a label inside the grill's right-hand metal door. The grills were sold at Lowe's and Walmart stores and online at cuisinart.com from December 2024 through May 2026, for between $500 and $750.

What to Do

Owners should stop using the recalled grill right away and visit Conair's website to check whether their model is included. If it is, the company is asking customers to follow its instructions to safely remove the tempered-glass window from the pizza oven, then upload two photos: one of the removed glass and one of the grill's serial number. Once Conair verifies them, owners will get a $500 refund by check, or reimbursement for the original purchase price with a receipt.

It is the latest in a string of grilling-season recalls, so it is worth a quick check before your next cookout.

In June 1971, Joni Mitchell released her landmark album, Blue, baring her heart and soul over 10 tracks that blended raw honesty, intimate songwriting, and stripped-down arrangements. The record became one of popular music’s most devastating works.

A wealth of waterworks, the album features “Little Green,” a chronicle of giving up her daughter for adoption in 1965; “The Last Time I Saw Richard,” a forlorn song about her first marriage and its aftermath; and “River,” a melancholy meditation on heartbreak and wanting to escape. But, according to Far Out magazine, one track stands apart in sadness—not only from the others on the record, but across Mitchell’s entire catalog.

And that’s the title track, “Blue.”

“Songs are like tattoos, and the lyrics to ‘Blue’ are well worthy of being inked on your skin,” the outlet writes. “The title track from Mitchell’s 1971 album captures the feeling of the entire record, as she directly addresses her depression, personifying it as ‘Blue.’”

Inspired by the first-person narrative storytelling Bob Dylan made his signature, Mitchell pours her heart out in “Blue,” written after her breakup with Graham Nash—the Nash in Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. “Blue” is a confessional track that explores the emotional turmoil of her then-new relationship with James Taylor and her own struggles with vulnerability, independence, and loneliness.

“It’s an aching piano track that finds Mitchell completely giving into sadness,” Far Out writes. “‘Blue, I love you,’ she sings, ‘Blue, here is a shell for you, inside you’ll hear a sigh, a foggy lullaby, there is your song from me.’”

Blue became Mitchell’s highest-charting album at the time, even cracking the Top 10 in her native Canada. More than that, the album signaled a new era for singer-songwriters, a time when it was OK to lay everything bare—the good, the bad, the effed up.

“The Blue album, there's hardly a dishonest note in the vocals,” Mitchell once said. “At that period of my life, I had no personal defenses. I felt like a cellophane wrapper on a pack of cigarettes. I could not pretend to be strong or happy, and the music had no defenses either.”

Blue was “probably the purest emotional record that I will ever make in my life.”

Diet also plays a role. The best foods for artery health include leafy greens, whole grains, nuts, avocado, olive oil, seafood and lean proteins. Maybe you already do your best to maintain a healthy diet and pay close attention to what you eat. But how about what you drink?

The Popular Coffee Drink That Can Clog Arteries, According to a Cardiologist

If you’re in the habit of drinking flavored oat milk lattes regularly, you could be negatively impacting your artery health without even realizing it. “Something that surprises many people is that some large specialty oat milk lattes can contain as much sugar as a soft drink, especially once flavored syrups are added,” says Dr. Minhal Makshood, MD, a cardiologist with MedStar Health.  

How is the sugar content in flavored oat milk lattes connected to artery health? Dr. Makshood explains that, over time, regularly consuming high-sugar beverages may contribute to weight gain, insulin resistance, elevated triglycerides and chronic inflammation, all of which increase cardiovascular risk and can contribute to the development of atherosclerosis.

Dr. Makshood notes one misconception about oat milk lattes is that they contain seed oils that negatively impact cardiovascular health. “The seed oils tend to receive a lot of attention on social media, but based on current evidence, they’re unlikely to be the primary concern in an oat milk latte. From a cardiologist’s perspective, excess added sugar and excess calories have far stronger evidence linking them to cardiovascular disease,” she tells Parade.

While espresso on its own can support cardiovascular health, Dr. Makshood says that the negative impact from the sugar in flavored coffees ends up outweighing the benefits from the espresso. 

“A shot of espresso may provide antioxidants and other beneficial compounds, but if it’s paired with large amounts of sugar, flavored syrups, whipped cream and excess calories, the overall cardiovascular impact becomes much less favorable,” she explains.

How Does Coffee Impact Artery Health?

While flavored syrups in coffee drinks can negatively impact artery health, coffee and espresso on their own do not. In fact, they can actually support heart health. “Moderate coffee consumption is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, heart failure, type 2 diabetes and even premature death in many large observational studies,” Dr. Makshood tells Parade. 

In terms of what moderate consumption looks like, she says that for most healthy adults, it’s roughly two to four standard 8-ounce cups of brewed coffee a day. If you drink more than that, it can lead to heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia and temporary increases in blood pressure. With that in mind, keep your intake under four cups a day, and even lower if you are sensitive to caffeine. 

While caffeine intake does temporarily increase blood pressure by causing blood vessels to constrict, and this doesn’t mean it’s harmful to arteries. “What’s particularly interesting is that long-term coffee consumption has not been shown to promote plaque buildup in arteries. In fact, habitual coffee drinkers often have similar or even lower rates of cardiovascular events than people who don’t drink coffee,” she says.

Dr. Makshood adds that many people don’t realize is that how coffee is brewed matters when it comes to how it impacts cardiovascular health. She explains that paper-filtered coffee removes natural compounds called cafestol and kahweol that can raise LDL cholesterol. This is why filtered coffee is considered a healthier option than French press, Turkish coffee or other unfiltered preparations if heart health is the goal. 

How Other Alternative Milks Compare to Oat Milk

If you prefer lattes to coffee, you may wonder how other alternative milks, such as almond milk or soy milk, compare to oat milk when it comes to artery health. Dr. Makshood says that while there isn’t one alternative milk that’s best for everyone, there are some key differences to consider. 

“Unsweetened soy milk is an excellent option because it provides high-quality protein and has been associated with favorable effects on cholesterol,” she explains.

As for unsweetened almond milk, Dr. Makshood adds that this milk is naturally lower in calories and carbohydrates, making it another good option for many people (particularly those who want to be mindful of their calorie intake), although it contains less protein. 

It also isn't necessary to avoid oat milk completely. “Oat milk can certainly be part of a heart-healthy diet, but I encourage patients to choose unsweetened versions whenever possible and to pay attention to the nutrition label. The type of oat milk and everything else added to the drink matter more than the oat milk itself,” she says.

No matter which type of alternative milk you go for, making sure it’s unsweetened is the best way to support your heart health.

Remember, it’s what we consume regularly that impacts the body the most, including the arteries. If you’re enjoying a sweetened oat milk latte as a treat now and then, it’s nothing to lose sleep over. But if you’re a daily latte drinker, making sure the milk is unsweetened and you aren’t adding flavored syrups to your drink will ensure your coffee drink doesn’t just perk you up, but also supports your body.

Fifty-one years ago today, on July 11, 1975, Fleetwood Mac released the self-titled album that forever changed the band's history.

Often referred to by fans as "The White Album," it marked the debut of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicksas members of Fleetwood Mac, introduced classics like "Rhiannon," "Landslide," "Say You Love Me" and "Over My Head," and laid the foundation for the blockbuster success of Rumours two years later.

The album's success was anything but immediate. Although it eventually spent 37 weeks in the Billboard Top 10 and climbed to No. 1 more than a year after its release, Fleetwood Mac first had to convince audiences that its dramatically revamped lineup was something special. By the time its chart run was over, the album had sold millions of copies and launched one of rock's most celebrated eras.

In a 2013 interview with MOJO, Nicks recalled how quickly life changed after the album's success.

"1975's platinum-selling Fleetwood Mac album had transformed all their lives," the magazine wrote, prompting Nicks to reflect, "Now Lindsey and I had money. We were rich."

The album also helped strengthen Buckingham and Nicks' relationship at a pivotal moment.

"Lindsey and I were a little bit on the rocks when we joined," Nicks said. "But making the album pulled us together. We healed the wounds in our relationship, because things were going way too well to consider a break-up."

Mick Fleetwood believed Buckingham and Nicks brought exactly what the band needed after years of lineup changes.

"They brought with them a batch of their own songs. I didn't want someone that was going to mimic what we'd done before," said Fleetwood. "That would have been hokey. Lindsey and Stevie came to us fully formed. It worked right from the start. Chris, Lindsey and Stevie's voices created these wonderful harmonies. We'd started to explore harmonies with Bob Welch. But we were still unknowing. Lindsey had so much energy. We needed someone with a vision."

Decades later, Buckingham made a surprising assessment of the record that launched Fleetwood Mac's classic lineup.

"I actually think Fleetwood Mac is a better-recorded album than Rumours," he told MOJO. "But we always knew Rumours was good, and expected a certain outcome."

Christine McVie also held the 1975 album in especially high regard. Asked to rank Fleetwood Mac's catalog, she placed Rumours first but said "the white Fleetwood Mac album" ranked second, ahead of every other record the band released.

While Rumours remains one of the biggest-selling albums in music history, Fleetwood Mac's 1975 self-titled release remains the record that made it all possible. More than five decades after introducing Buckingham and Nicks to the band, "The White Album" continues to stand as one of classic rock's defining turning points.
