Nora Ephron’s 1998 movie, You’ve Got Mail, has been named one of the best romanticcomedies of all time. In a list compiled by Vanity Fair, the film ranked at No. 2 out of 42 films that defined the rom-com genre. The only movie that beat it was Ephron’s When Harry Met Sally.

Starring Tom Hanksand Meg Ryan, You’ve Got Mail was inspired by the 1940 movie The Shop Around the Corner. It follows rival bookstore owners Joe Fox (Hanks) and Kathleen Kelly (Ryan), who fall in love with each other while anonymously communicating via email—after first meeting in a then-new America Online (AOL) over-30 chat room.

Vanity Fair teased that the film featured several notable “firsts”: “Though a film about romance in the age of America Online was always going to be hopelessly dated, it was the first rom-com to normalize the thrill of flirting via chat box with an anonymous stranger," the outlet shared. "It was the first rom-com to cast Dave Chappelle as a best friend; the first to use a dial-up modem as the opening credits song; and the first to playfully skewer how easy it is to catfish a potential mate.“

Like its predecessors, When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail was a box office hit, raking in over $250 million globally, per The Numbers.

Ephron knew the dial-up email piece wouldn't stand the test of time

While the anonymous love story storyline remains timeless, Ephron and her stars knew the premise of You’ve Got Mail—a small business bookstore rivaling a brick-and-mortar major chain, as well as the dial-up email communication— would someday become a nostalgic look back in time.

Ryan told Vanity Fair that Ephron was “an essayist about culture.”  “To her, there was something secretly smart about this idea of corporate takeovers and what's happening to small business,” the actress said. “If there were such a thing as the next You've Got Mail, we'd have to sort of say that Barnes and Noble and those sorts of chains are being swallowed up by Amazon, and now these small bookstores are coming back again to recompete.”

Hanks also noted that Ephron joked about rushing the film in the early days of email.

“When we did You've Got Mail, I said, ‘Hey, you know, Nora, this is kind of like a follow-up to Sleepless in Seattle, let's keep that in our pocket,”‘ Hanks told Access Hollywood in 2023. “And she says, ‘Yes, it is, but we'd better hurry up while email is still a going thing.’ So even she knew how fast everything turned."

"If you look at both of those movies, Sleepless in Seattle was at this time of this radio show call-in kind of phenomenon that was part of society, and that slipped by the wayside in a matter of only five years. And what's led into its place are anonymous emails," he continued.

“We always talk about this all the time, what would Nora be making about TikTok, about social media,” Hanks added of the director, who died in 2012. “If she were around, we'd do it again.”

Stanley Tucci is proud to own the title of "biggest diva" on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

In response to co-star Anne Hathaway referring to him as an on-set diva, Tucci leaned into the title, adding that there's "no question" of his diva status. "I'm awful," Tucci told People. "Just terrible."

Tucci is a diva because "he's so fussy about his clothes," Hathaway said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. While Tucci's character Nigel Kipling is indeed fussy about clothes, Nigel is far from a diva, especially after he reacted graciously to some devastating career news at the end of the film. When the news was announced at a large gathering in Paris, Nigel remained loyal to his boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), famously saying, "When the time is right, she'll pay me back." To which Hathaway's character Andrea Sachs replies, "You sure about that?"

Nearly every actor returned for the sequel, including Tucci's real-life sister-in-law, Emily Blunt, who reprised her high-strung character Emily Charlton. She recalled how Tucci would joke with her when he thought she was over-acting. "Stan would be like, 'You're shameless. Shameless,'" Blunt recalled to E!.

"Stan and I were so angry that they didn't give us more to do together," Blunt continued. "If we do another one, they better have us joined at the hip. I love him. They let us have a free rein to improv whatever we wanted, which was probably a terrible mistake, because we ruined endless tapes. A lot of the scenes were unusable because we were laughing so much. He's heaven."

The Devil Wears Prada ended with Nigel returning to Runway Magazine in the same capacity, and Andrea moved on in her career. The sequel revisits the characters, years later as Miranda "navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt's character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens in theaters on May 1.

The late Alan Osmond had a lasting influence on his younger brother, Donny Osmond, shaping both his career and outlook on life.

Donny continued, "My friend Billy and his father asked me to go fishing with them, and I didn’t have a pole. I could see that Alan was a little worried about it, but he offered me his anyway. We set off that morning and I felt like I would catch buckets of fish!"

Donny concluded, "I got home and told him I was ready to cry–and Alan was more concerned with stopping me than he was about the pole! He cared about the pole, sure, but nowhere near as much as he cared about trying to keep me from being sad! Alan talked to me and made me realize that no pole in the world mattered as much as any person being unhappy–and that’s just what Alan taught me! The thing is just a thing, but a person is something precious."

In 2025, Donny Osmond posted a loving birthday tribute to his older brother on social media. He shared that he and his brothers called Alan "the leader of the band."

Alan Osmond died on April 20 at the age of 76. In a statement issued to ABC4 Utah, it was confirmed that the entertainer died at 8:30 p.m. on April 20. He and his wife of 51 years, Suzanne Pinegar Osmond, had eight children; Michael, Nathan, Douglas, David, Scott, Jonathon, Alexander, and Tyler.

Dancing With the Stars pro Mark Ballas left the Monday, April 20, performance of Chicago early due to illness.

One day prior, Ballas sat out of the show because he wasn't feeling well.

"Sorry I will not be able to perform again tonight. This illness has hit me and my whole household very hard. I have been doing everything I can to get back," Ballas wrote on his Instagram Stories on April 19. "Please have grace with some of your aggressive DMs. It's not like I'm doing this on purpose or can prevent what is happening. I even have family that has flown in from England that won't be able to see me perform now. This is a massive disappointment for me & again I can't apologize enough. Thank you for understanding."

The next day, Ballas said that he was going to push through and get back on stage. However, later in the evening, he revealed that he was unable to get through the first act.

"I tried my best but l am still recovering and probably should have waited as I am not fully healed & my voice totally went out on me halfway through the first song," Ballas wrote on his Instagram Stories. "l apologize profusely to all that came out to see me & this wonderful cast. l am devastated," he added.

Following the last Dancing With the Stars season, Ballas partner Whitney Leavitt was offered a role in the hit Broadway musical—and she accepted. From there, it didn't take long for rumors about Ballas joining the cast to start. In early March, People magazine confirmed that Ballas would be reuniting with Leavitt on stage.

So far, it’s been a successful run. On April 15, Ballas shared that Chicago had its highest-grossing week in 30 years.

It’s been a busy stretch for the pro dancer, who also recently appeared on The Traitors. Fans are now hoping he takes the time he needs to recover before returning to the stage.

Released in 1987, the towering anthem didn’t just top the charts, it cemented itself as one of the era’s most enduring emotional rock songs, powered by a vocal performance that still resonates decades later.

“Alone” arrived at a pivotal moment for Heart. The band, led by sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, had already enjoyed major success in the 1970s. But by the mid-1980s, they were reinventing themselves for a new generation, with “Alone” a key part of this shift.

Released as the lead single from their ninth studio album, Bad Animals, which came out on May 15, 1987, the track quickly made its mark. It climbed all the way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July, while also topping charts in Canada and reaching No. 3 in the U.K. The song’s global success underscored its broad appeal, with "Alone" landing in the top 10 in multiple countries and becoming one of the biggest hits of 1987.

But what makes the story of “Alone” extra interesting is the fact that Heart didn’t originally write it. The song was penned by hitmakers Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, who first recorded it with their short-lived project i-Ten in 1983. This version flew largely under the radar, but the songwriting duo clearly made something special, with Heart taking the song and transforming it into something massive.

Even among a music catalog filled with hits, “Alone” stands out as one of Heart’s most recognizable songs. It earned the band a Grammy nomination and became one of the defining power ballads of its time. By the end of 1987, it ranked among the year’s biggest singles in the U.S., and decades later, it's still remembered as a true classic.

In the 2020s, Ann is still belting out "Alone" and wowing audiences with her powerful vocals, while many other landmark singers have tried their hand at singing the beloved song.

A prototype Boba Fett action figure that was never sold to the public, one of the rarest toys on the planet, sold at Goldin Auctions for $1,342,000, setting the record for the highest price ever paid for any toy, action figure, and non-prop Star Wars item.

The figure is described as a 'Kenner 1979 J-Slot (Version 2) Rocket-Firing (Mailer) Prototype Boba Fett', one of only 30 ever produced, the highest-graded example of the three believed to still exist, and the first of its kind ever sold at public auction.

To understand why a 3.75-inch plastic toy crossed a million dollars, you need to know the story behind it.

Kenner launched a mail-in promotion in August 1978, rewarding fans who purchased four Star Wars figures with a new Boba Fett action figure, highlighted by a backpack rocket launcher. The timing made it even more enticing. The figure was first promoted in a 1978 Kenner catalog, months before Boba Fett's animated debut in the Star Wars Holiday Special, long before his live-action appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

Then a tragedy happened.

A January 1979 press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the complete recall of Mattel's Battlestar Galactica toys, which featured a rocket-firing mechanism similar to Boba Fett's. The recall came in response to reports of the toys becoming choking hazards for small children, including at least one confirmed death.

Over at Kenner, development of the Boba Fett was immediately shut down. All prototypes were supposedly destroyed. Former Kenner engineer Jacob Miles III summed it up plainly: 'When Battlestar Galactica had their issues, we immediately just shut it down and destroyed everything.'

Children who qualified for the mail-in promotion eventually received revised Boba Fett figures, complete with a 'Note to Consumers' explaining the original spring-launched rocket had been removed for safety reasons.

Though the prototypes were scrapped from retail and meant to be completely destroyed, a precious few survived, smuggled out by ex-Kenner employees.

Of the surviving prototypes, roughly 70 had the initial L-slot version of the firing mechanism, while around 30 had a J-slot, a later iteration designed to make the mechanism more difficult to misfire, created as Kenner started having safety concerns. The Goldin figure is the rarest version of all: a painted mailer variant that was placed in a mailing box and kept by a Kenner engineer, later opened by his son. The lot included the original mailer box along with two business cards from the Kenner employee. No mailer J-slots had ever been sold previously, with only two others known to exist.

Goldin compared the figure's collectible stature to the T-206 Honus Wagnerbaseball card and the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, the pinnacle of its hobby.

The sale demolished the previous record. Prior to 2024, a rocket-firing Boba Fett had never sold for more than $236,000, and the record for any toy was held by a Barbie designed by Stefano Canturi, which sold for $302,500 in 2010. An L-slot variant shattered that toy record in May 2024 at Heritage Auctions for $525,000. The Goldin J-slot then more than doubled that number three months later.

Guinness World Records has officially recognized the sale as the most expensive Star Wars action figure sold at auction. A toy meant to be a free promotional giveaway, and destroyed before it ever reached a child's hands, now holds the highest price ever paid for a mass-market action figure prototype in history.

Most people don't realize what a miracle getting pregnant is until they begin trying. The stars have to align perfectly for the right egg to meet the right sperm in order to create viable life. The fragility of that life is never more apparent than when that pregnancy goes sideways in any way.

Jasmin Garcia, 31, and husband Zechariah Garcia, 34, know all too well how fast things can change.

"Our pregnancy before Leonardo’s diagnosis was incredibly exciting—it almost felt surreal, like 'wow, this is really happening!'" Jasmine tells Parade. "We had been trying for months after experiencing a miscarriage the previous year, so as we moved through this new pregnancy, we became more joyful and eager with each prenatal visit. Zechariah and I both come from big families, so becoming parents was always something we knew we wanted for ourselves."

But when the time came for their 19-20 week anatomy scan, excitement turned to fear; they found out that the little boy they were expecting had developed gastroschisis, which presents as evidence of free-floating bowel outside of the fetal abdomen.

"In this abnormality, there is a full-thickness abdominal wall defect next to the umbilical cord site, usually to the right, through which fetal bowel protrudes into the amniotic cavity," Dr. James Hole, Medical Director, Maternal Fetal Center, Valley Children’s Healthcare, tells Parade. "They can be classified as simple or complex, based on the presence or absence of other fetal intestinal abnormalities. Approximately 75% are simple, and 25% are complex."

Hole further explains that outcomes of gastroschisis are also influenced by factors like "maternal medical conditions, fetal growth abnormalities, gestational age at delivery, and status of the bowel at the time of delivery."

"The incidence is approximately 1 in 4,000 to 5,000 deliveries and is increasing," he adds. "It is more common in certain situations, such as maternal age less than 20, BMI less than 20, exposure to certain illicit drugs, alcohol, some medications, or environmental exposures."

It was, without a doubt, a terrifying development for the Garcias.

"The diagnosis was a hit to my heart," admits Jasmine. "Zechariah wasn’t familiar with the condition at the time and was trying to process everything as the provider explained it to us. But as a pediatric nurse, I was familiar—and it felt like my entire world stopped in that moment."

"The idea of a 'normal' pregnancy was suddenly gone, and all I could think was, 'Is our baby boy going to be okay?” she adds. "That question stayed with me at every appointment after that."

Luckily for their son, whom they would end up calling Leonardo, doctors had a plan to help him live the best life he could.

Leonardo's Remarkable Surgery

Though the Garcias were officially in a high-risk pregnancy, Valley Children’s Healthcare guided them throughout the entire process, which Hole said basically entails a methodical approach to pregnancy. It requires:

• Multidisciplinary Consultations: Patients consult with an OB provider, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, a pediatric surgeon, a neonatologist, and, often, a genetic counselor.
• Specialized Care Facility: Delivery must be planned at a center that provides all required medical specialties.
• Diagnostic Evaluations: Further testing includes a detailed fetal anatomy ultrasound and, often, a fetal echocardiogram.
• Ongoing Monitoring: Serial ultrasounds reassess fetal growth, amniotic fluid volume, and bowel appearance.
• Antenatal Assessment: Assessments of fetal well-being typically begin at 28–32 weeks.
• Delivery Timing: Recommended delivery is between 36–39 weeks, though approximately 50% deliver before 36 weeks.

Hole reminds parents that the best thing they can do is be prepared to go with the flow.

"The treatment plan for Jasmine and Leonardo required alterations as the pregnancy progressed," explains Hole. "As occurs in more than 50% of cases, Leonardo developed significant fetal growth restriction (small for gestational age growth), and Jasmine developed cholestasis of pregnancy, both of which altered decision-making regarding pregnancy follow-up and delivery planning. Further changes in the care plan were then required when Jasmine had preterm premature rupture of membranes at 33-34 weeks."

"Leonardo had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery at 34 weeks and weighed 3 pounds 15 ounces," says Hole. "Neonatology was present for the delivery, and after stabilization in the delivery room, the infant was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit for further treatment and surgical consultation."

"Leonardo’s early days were spent in the NICU, where he was fighting to recover and grow stronger after surgery," Jasmine says. "He was born prematurely at 34 weeks and underwent surgery just a couple of hours after birth. He also battled pneumonia, low blood pressure, and required intubation during his first few days of life. Seeing him like that, with all the tubes and IV lines, was hard, but I knew he was where he needed to be, and that gave me some peace of mind."

How Leonardo Is Doing Today

Thankfully, his recovery went better than either his parents or the medical team had anticipated. Leonardo graduated from the NICU early and has progressed beautifully since.

He is now 18 months old and hitting all the milestones they had hoped for. Jasmine reports that his symptoms don't really impact his day-to-day life, and loves to climb and roughhouse just like any little boy his age.

While the Garcias will have to regularly follow up with specialists due to his condition, which can potentially force him to develop issues like constipation, blockages, and hernias as he grows, he hasn't faced any of those complications and has been growing beautifully.

What felt like one of the scariest moments for us turned into a journey that showed us how strong we all could be, how important having the right support is, and how resilient these tiny babies truly are," Jasmine adds. "Taking things one day at a time, and watching Leonardo grow stronger each day, made all the difference for us."

King Charles honored his "darling mama," the late Queen Elizabeth in a heartfelt speech, on what would have been her 100th birthday.

The monarch recorded his message from Balmoral Castle, the British royal family’s Scottish estate where Elizabeth II died at age 96 on September 8, 2022. The decision to film his remarks there underscored the location’s deep personal significance, adding a poignant layer to his tribute.

NBC News reported on Charles' statement. He said that the occasion was a chance to "reflect on the life and loss of a sovereign who meant so much to us all and to celebrate anew the many blessings of her memory."

He shared, "Millions will remember her for moments of national significance; many others for a fleeting personal encounter, a smile, a kind word that lifted spirits, or for that marvelous twinkle of the eye when sharing a marmalade sandwich with Paddington Bear in the final months of her life.”

Muldoon died suddenly on April 19 at age 57 following a heart attack. The actor was known for his roles on Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place, and Starship Troopers, in which he starred opposite Richards. Richards and Muldoon had known each other since they were young adults. Muldoon also made several appearances on Richards’ reality series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, where the pair affectionately revived their nickname—coined during Starship Troopers—“schweet babe.”

Lola’s Instagram tribute featured an image of her mother and Muldoon, whom she referred to as family. Richards, who has not yet spoken publicly about Muldoon’s death, responded with a broken-heart emoji and praying hands on the post.

“I thought you were the one that was supposed be in our lives forever. When I think of my childhood, I think of you, Pat, and it’s gonna be so weird to go on without you in our lives. you were such a huge part of our family and life will never feel the same, but that’s just because of how much you impacted us,” Lola began her post, thanking Muldoon for teaching them what it means to be alive, and that he defined the meaning of fun.

Lola also recalled a trip she took with Richards and Muldoon, “and you wouldn’t stop singing that Lola song to me, and made me laugh so hard. And you know that song will always make me think of you.”

She added, “I will really miss hearing my mom laugh on the phone with you. Your voice always brightened my day and I’m gonna miss hearing it but I know my mom will more, but we will never stop talking about you. Thank you for being the best friend to her. Thank you for being the one to make her laugh and forget about all she’s going through. That was a gift you had.”

Lola recognized that Muldoon and her mother’s bond was “something so special, that no one can touch.” She continued, “when I think of my mom, I think of you. You guys came as a package, and I’m so thankful I got to know you and witness a friendship so pure and special in front of my eyes. I always begged my mom, I’m sure she told you that you guys would end up back together haha, but I guess staying best friends was better anyways. You really were a rockstar, Pat, and forever will be. Have fun up there, I know you will. love you.”

Known as much for her iconic style as her voice, the 64-year-old legend brought her signature look, down to the legendary platinum and black-dyed hair that still influences fashion trailblazers like Olympian Alysa Liu. Wearing black booties and an ‘80s-inspired white short set, Nunn brought an updated version of her edgy style to the performance while staying true to Berlin’s roots.

Dressed in a look that nodded to her signature style, Nunn brought the same cool intensity that made Berlin a defining act of its time. Fans gathered around the stage, many singing along word-for-word, proving just how deeply the track still resonates decades after its release.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Walt Disney Worldis a bona fide mecca for the curious foodie. It’s home to the mouse’s most applauded restaurants, including waterfront Narcoossee’s and the Michelin-starred Victoria & Albert’s. And I speak from personal experience: I've been visiting Walt Disney World for decades with monthly visits and have dined at hundreds of its restaurants.

The Garden View Lounge—Tea Experience is a cherished tradition that’s been reimagined with inspiration from the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Alice in Wonderland. Guests visiting pay one price to enjoy a set tasting experience that’s modeled after a traditional British afternoon tea. Of course, this is Disney so expect storytelling and lots of little details (Spoiler: look for hidden Mickeys). Guests should allot at least an hour to enjoy this.

The intimate space, located at the rear of the flagship resort’s iconic lobby, overlooks the garden just outside and has been given a major refresh, courtesy of Walt Disney Imagineering, pairing elegance with Disney’s signature whimsy. It's distinctly regal, yet relaxed. Inspired by Victorian Conservatories, it’s light and airy, with flowery patterns and warm tones. A notable addition are three new stained-glass windows that adorn the outside wall separating the restaurant from the rest of the lobby. These are stunning and depict birds that are native to Florida.

Here, presentation is everything. And the star of the set menu is a gorgeous tower of both sweet and savory items, with each dish almost too cute to eat and inspired by moments and characters from Alice In Wonderland.

“I love the imagination they put into the menu,” Stephen Twining, 10th generation of the Twining family, shared on my visit of his partnership with The Walt Disney Company. "It's just incredible and the tiny details… we like tiny details. It’s all about the details and they do details like nobody else.” 

And little details were what I encountered again and again on my visit. 

Before the “tea tower of treats” was presented, the meal began with an orange-cranberry scone served alongside traditional butters and jam. This was an absolute highlight of the experience, a perfectly prepared scone that I could have easily devoured multiples of.

Classic tea bites, like the finger sandwich, are given a delightfully Disney twist with the Tweedledee egg salad sandwich. And when it comes to sweets, there’s the matcha Mad Hatter, and the Painting the Rose, a teacake that’s “painted” by staff tableside. There’s also enhancements available to add, like Royal Osetra Caviar, and a seasonal cheese plate that was the talk of the dining room on my visit. Making this a true family affair, kids have their own set menu that adds approachability—and adorableness—with the Queen of Hearts Cheese Toastie and a noteworthy Cheshire Cat-themed raspberry macaron.

Of course, this is a tea experience, and that was just as much a reason to visit as the eats. Disney worked directly with Twinings and their master blenders to offer a diverse line-up of teas for both the novice and tea enthusiast, and prepare staff in serving it according to its rich tradition. 

“I remember my father talking about their passion for giving guests great experiences,” Twining continued. “They're always working towards the future and we’re always working towards the future. And it’s just been one of those natural partnerships. It’s just an awesome relationship.”

A must-order was the Orangery of Lady Grey, a Walt Disney World exclusive tea only available at the resort and bursting with flavors of citrus. Presentation was also a fun element as Cast Members guided our party in deciding what tea was best based on our flavor preferences (they even allowed each guest to smell different teas before deciding). Tea-based cocktails are also available, with the Mar-TEA-ni being a hit. This paired lemon and honey with Twinings Earl Grey Tea and Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. It balanced that line of boozy while still refreshing.

Who is this for?

This experience is suitable just as much for adults, like a girls-only vacation, as it is for families. And more so, there’s something thrilling about ditching the typical theme park attire of t-shirts and Mickey ears for a more polished look. The dress code encourages visitors to dress sophisticated (absolutely no swimwear is allowed) and guests are known to go all out with classic British afternoon attire and even fascinators. There’s quite a few notably excellent up-charge experiences at Walt Disney World, like the La Cava Experience at Epcot, and this holds its own with delicious foods, a unique setting that exuded Victorian charm and an engaging experience that satisfied all the senses.
