Daniel Radcliffe's Highest-Rated Movie Finally Hit Netflix Today

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 8:46pm

Great news for Broadway and Daniel Radcliffe fans alike: The Harry Potter star's live-filmed musical, Merrily We Roll Along, is now streaming on Netflix!

Radcliff stared alongside Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical in 2023 and 2024, and the live recording debuted in theaters in 2025. Now, fans can finally watch it at home on the streaming platform.

And if you haven't seen it, you probably should; the film is Radcliffe's top-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes, edging out on the critic-rated Tomatometer only by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (which has a 96% rating compared to MWRA's 95%), and it beats the fantasy film 95% to 89% on the fan-voted Popcornmeter, making it both "Verified Hot" and "Certified Fresh" on the platform.

Additionally, all three stars of the film were recognized for their performances. Radcliffe and Groff took home Tony Awards for Best Featured Actor and Best Actor, while Mendez earned a Best Feature Actress nomination.

If you're not familiar with the musical based on George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s 1939 play of the same title, Netflix describes it as being about "a bright composer [who] abandons his friends to become a big-time film producer."

"This is the story of their unraveling — in reverse," it concludes. The story spans three decades and features some of Sondheim's most famous songs.

TLC Reality Star Apologizes After Explicit Videos Were Posted to Her Instagram

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 8:10pm

Former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird is apologizing to fans on April 4, one day after multiple extremely explicit and graphic sexual videos were posted to her Instagram account amid a "nightmare" hacking situation.

"My deepest apologies for the content that was posted," she wrote in the caption of a new video explaining what happened. "Although it was not me, I still feel I owe it to everyone to apologize." She added that while she does "post spicy things" on her OnlyFans account, sharing NSFW content to her Instagram is "never me nor my character."

"This been stressful and has it been literally a nightmare of my f--king life," she continued in the video while explaining that she was hacked on April 3, got into her account briefly, posted that she was "hacked" on her Stories, and then lost access again. "But now it's officially me. I am running the page. I've got it back and we're all secure and ready to go," she said.

She also insisted the person in the videos could not have been her (despite the face being obscured) because she has "very distinctive chest tattoos" that were clearly not present in the clips. "I've had them since I was 15, so, for anybody that thinks it was me or I was providing someone, absolutely was not me," she concluded.

One follower who had seen one of the hacker videos commented, "That video was the first thing on my feed when I opened Instagram and not gonna lie, it was shocking lol." Another agreed, "Oh thank gosh that wasn't you gurl. I was like she wouldn't go this far. I was worried for you @pumpkin. Thank you for this."

While some fans sent support and were happy to see Mama June Shannon's daughter get her page pack, others criticized her for often posting suggestive photos to direct followers to her OnlyFans account for steamier content. "No shade gurl but please make a separate page for this either way…" said one follower, while another commented, "Never put your kids on the same page you post adult content. Ever."

1970 Hit Ranked Among Best Rock Love Songs Took 20 Minutes to Write

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 7:39pm

Elton John's 1970 hit "Your Song" is one of the greatest love songs ever written. The romantic ballad came together in record time, with John composing the melody in just 20 minutes after his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin gave him the lyrics he had scribbled down.

In 2018, Taupin told the Independent, "The original lyric was written very rapidly on the kitchen table of Elton's mother's [house] in Northwood Hills in the suburbs of London, if I recall, on a particularly grubby piece of exercise paper."

The songwriter added, "It's the voice of someone who hasn't experienced love in any way. It's a very virginal song."

Taupin shared, "I think 'Your Song' is a gem. Our classic, I'm not sure. I'll let others decide that. But it's like an old friend, it means so many things on equally as many levels. It's certainly proved its worth, and I've heard it sung a million times."

"It's like a good dog, it's always there," he added.

In a 2013 Rolling Stone interview, John opened up about how Taupin's lyrics inspired him to fill out the melody of "Your Song" very quickly.

"What can I say, it's a perfect song. It gets better every time I sing it," he shared.

"I remember writing it at my parents' apartment in North London, and Bernie giving me the lyrics, sitting down at the piano and looking at it and going, 'Oh, my God, this is such a great lyric, I can't f**k this one up,'" the singer explained.

John noted, "It came out in about 20 minutes, and when I was done, I called him in and we both knew. I was 22, and he was 19, and it gave us so much confidence."

"Empty Sky [his debut album] was lovely, but it was very naive. We went on to do more esoteric stuff like 'Take Me to the Pilot,' of course, but musically, this was a big step forward," he shared. "And the older I get, the more I sing these lyrics, and the more they resonate with me."

"Your Song" ranked #6 on a 2025 Billboard list of staffer picks for "50 Best Rock Love Songs"

This Beloved 1988 Broadway Musical is Getting A New Cast Recording

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 7:38pm

38 years after it debuted on Broadway, Chess is finally back, and it’s getting a new cast recording on April 10.

Featuring Glee alum Lea Michele alongside Aaron Tveit and Nicholas Christopher, Chess was brought back to Broadway in late 2025. Opening at the Imperial Theatre as it did in the 80s, the musical features songs from lyricist Tim Rice and ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson

Chess tells the story of a world chess championship around the time of the Cold War. In the revival, Michele plays the lead role of Florence Vassy, who finds herself in a love triangle with the American Freddie Trumper (Tveit) and the Soviet Anatoly Sergievsky (Christopher). Michele’s “Nobody’s Side” from Chess was released on March 19 to tease the upcoming soundtrack.

"I feel like I was born to sing this music," Michele said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I feel like I was born to sing Tim Rice's lyrics. It just feels like it's been a part of me without me even knowing."

A second song from the soundtrack, “Anthem,” sung by Christopher, was released on April 3. His performance as Sergievsky was named by People as one of the best Broadway performances of 2025. In an article, they called him “revelatory” and claimed that he delivers the production’s “most arresting performance.”

As fans anticipate the release of Chess’s new cast recording, they’ve already been raving about “Nobody’s Side” and “Anthem.”

“I treasure the moment Anthem ended and my mom repeatedly hit my arm in the blackout because of Nicholas’ astounding performance,” one fan joked in Playbill’s comment section.

When Billboard posted on Instagram about “Nobody’s Side,” even Ariana Grande’s vocal coach, Eric Vetro, took to the comments to show his support.

“LEA! You are truly a BRILLIANT artist,” Vetro said. “That gorgeous voice combined with so much passion and emotion… just SPECTACULAR!”

The full cast recording will be available on streaming platforms on Friday, April 10. In the meantime, Chess has posted a video from Christopher’s performance of “Anthem.” Watch it here:

TV Co-stars Who Never Met on Set Finally Crossed Paths—Then Eloped in a Stunning Tennessee Wedding

According to the magazine, the two actors both starred in the same shows -- The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off, The Originals -- but never actually met on set. They finally crossed paths at the series’ reunion dinner in 2023, and the rest is happily ever after history.

“It was this instant mutual feeling of: ‘Hi, where the hell have you been,’” Krueger says about the pair’s initial meeting. “Invisible string theory at its finest.”

The couple said their “I do’s” at the Chapel at High Point Farm in Tennessee back in February, the outlet shares. Originally, however, they had planned for a fall wedding with 200 of their family and friends, but were forced to move their plans up when they found out King was expecting a baby.

“Shockingly, there’s not a huge market for wedding dresses that fit over a baby bump,” the actress jokes. “I was quite nervous to find a dress that would make me feel bridal and maternal — and not like the ‘Stay Puft Marshmallow Man’ from Ghostbusters bouncing down the aisle.”

King, 38, and Krueger, 36, are best known for their roles as Caroline Forbes and Josh Rosza on the CW’s supernatural shows. King is already a mom to two girls, Florence and Josephine, whom she shares with her ex-husband Joe King, guitarist for The Fray.

“We decided to have a small elopement-style weekend in Nashville with just our immediate families, and save the bigger celebration for sometime next year,” Krueger shares. "We had 15 people in total, including Candice’s daughters and my two nieces. And it was perfect.”

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 6:41pm

The Amish community can often be misunderstood, but some aspects of their culture seem like a welcome change in the world of hustling and bustling that the majority of us live in today. More often than not, Amish people steer clear of modernity in such aspects as electricity, technology and the public education system. Instead, they opt for a life focused on community and put the importance of the whole before the self. They lead seemingly simple lives that are made up of honest, hard work and they choose this life as a way to keep their main focus on God and religion. And even if you're not Amish, those aspects might be enough for you to want an Amish name for your baby. If that's the case, we've got you covered.

A common Amish name is generally biblical, like Sarah, John, Samuel or Ruth. Not every traditional Amish baby name can be found in the Bible, but it is a recurring theme throughout the community. Another aspect of this fascinating culture is that they primarily speak Dutch, for more casual interactions, and German when conducting church sermons or more formal affairs. It is not uncommon, then, for a German name to be used by the Amish.

If you're entering into the exciting time of finding the perfect moniker for your newborn and you want something rooted in tradition, religion and hard work, consider opting for one of these 75 Amish names for girls and boys.

43 Years Ago Today, Regis Philbin's Iconic Talk Show Debuted With This Co-Host

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 6:37pm

Some ABC fans know the network's Live morning show best as the Kelly Ripa hour, with various men serving as her co-host over the last 15 years.

But then there are the elder generations that grew up with Regis Philbin, AKA the face of the long-running talk show for nearly 30 years — 10 of which overlapped with Ripa, 55.

Before Ripa joined as Philbin's official co-host back in 2001, there was the one and only Kathie Lee Gifford. ABC's morning show had been titled Live with Regis and Kathie Lee from 1988 to the start of the 21st century.

Of course, more modern TV viewers know that Gifford, 72, would later join NBC's Today show for an impressive 11-year run alongside Hoda Kotb. But she actually joined Philbin — who died in 2020 at age 88 — on ABC's The Morning Show way back in 1985, even though the program wasn't officially renamed to include Gifford's name until 1988.

Added to that, Saturday, April 4 marks exactly 43 years since Philbin's iconic talk show debuted on ABC (in 1983). That means there were a full two years he was on the air without Gifford by his side, believe it or not.

That's because The Morning Show launched with Cyndy Garvey as his co-host. The American TV personality, 76, had previously worked with Philbin on A.M. Los Angeles on KABC-TV. Then came Gifford — with the last name Johnson at the time — in 1985 to take on co-hosting duties.

Last month, Gifford took time to reflect on the final time she saw Philbin — a memory that still makes her smile. In an interview with PEOPLE shared on March 14, the former Live with Regis and Kathie Lee host shared that she saw Philbin just two weeks before his death in July 2020 at age 88. The pair, who spent 15 years hosting morning television together, remained close friends long after Gifford left the show.

1976 Career-Defining Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 50 Years Ago Today

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 6:07pm

Fifty years ago today, the beloved 1970s country singer-songwriter Tammy Wynette topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart with her famous song, "'Til I Can Make It on My Own."

Released in 1976 as a the lead single and title track of her 15th studio album, "'Til I Can Make It on My Own" became a massive success. Within a few months of its release, the track climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, spending 11 consecutive weeks on the chart and holding the top position for one week. The album, Til I Can Make It on My Own also had significant chart success, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton performing together in 1980.

Beth Gwinn/Redferns

"'Til I Can Make It on My Own" marked Wynette's 15th No. 1 hit and is frequently cited as her favorite among her expansive discography. The track followed the country star's high-profile divorce from George Jones, a situation many believe served as inspiration for the iconic song.

Co-written by Wynette, Billy Sherrill and George Richey, the song explores themes of empowerment and emotional conflict that come with the end of a partnership. Despite the poignant lyricism, the song became as an anthem for independence, highlighting that moving on from a broken romantic relationship is possible with time.

Produced by Sherrill via Epic Records, "'Til I Can Make It on My Own" is recognizable for its Nashville countrypolitan sound. Sherrill and Wynette's blossoming long-term creative partnership is evident in the quality of the track. The two incorporated polished emotional instrumentation over Wynette's tender vocals, showcasing vulnerability and highlighting themes of resilience.

Despite being released five decades ago, the No. 1 hit still resonates with modern listeners in the streaming era. On Spotify alone, "'Til I Can Make It on My Own" has garnered nearly five million streams, attesting to its enduring legacy.

Starbucks Is Making a Big Change — And Customers May Notice the Difference

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 5:35pm

There's a chance you're enjoying a Starbucks beverage while reading this. The coffee giant is everywhere and has remained that way — despite rivals continuing to shoot their shots.

Customers still line up for their go-to menu 'Bucks items in the early-morning items, even if they have complaints about their neighborhood locations. And if you feel that service is lacking these days, Starbucks is looking to turn things around with new opportunities for both fans and workers.

According to TheStreet, the coffeehouse chain is both expanding opportunities for customers to tip and also offering bonuses to team members in outperforming stores, as ways to incentivize employees and improve service for customers.

Previously, tipping was only available for only in-store or drive-through orders or mobile orders paid for with a Starbucks card. But now, customers can now tip baristas for mobile orders with debit and credit cards. Mobile orders represent a growing share of total purchases at Starbucks, Rolling Out reports, making the expansion significant for workers who rely on tips.

The company is also introducing a performance-based bonus structure in which baristas and shift supervisors can be rewarded as much as $1,200 per year if their coffeehouse meets and exceeds certain goals. According to CNBC, bonus pays out at $300 per quarter when a store hits targets tied to sales performance, operational standards and customer service metrics.

“The program reflects Starbucks’ continued commitment to offering one of the most competitive total compensation and benefits packages in the industry,” Starbucks said on April 2, reflecting CEO Brian Niccol's effort to strengthen the business, per TheStreet.

Starbucks also made headlines last month when it unveiled a special drink in honor of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. Dubbed “Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher,” it's essentially a customized take on the Strawberry Açaí Refresher but skips the usual strawberry inclusions and adds raspberry syrup, plus a layer of raspberry cold foam on top. It received mixed reviews, however — read more here.

Katie Couric has announced her April 2026 book club pick, and it’s a novel that’s already achieved major acclaim in the literary world. The journalist and former Today Show host selected James by Percival Everett for this month’s read, bringing renewed attention to the critically acclaimed book as it's released in paperback.

Originally published in 2024, James reimagines Adventures of Huckleberry Finn—but with a powerful change in perspective. The story centers on Jim, here called James, an enslaved man who is escaping bondage. In Everett’s version, James is not a background character as he was in the original, but a highly intelligent, reflective figure who must carefully navigate a dangerous world while concealing the full extent of his intellect.

Ann Patchett, author of Bel Canto, and one of the most respected and established writers in modern American literature, says of the book, “James is funny and horrifying, brilliant and riveting. In telling the story of Jim instead of Huckleberry Finn, Percival Everett delivers a powerful, necessary corrective to both literature and history. I found myself cheering both the writer and his hero. Who should read this book? Every single person in the country.”

What James Is About View this post on Instagram

The novel explores race, identity, language, and freedom, while challenging readers to reconsider a foundational American story. The book has earned widespread praise from literary heavyweights. Colson Whitehead called it “a brilliant and necessary reimagining,” while George Saundershas praised Everett’s work for its “wit, intelligence, and moral force.” That kind of recognition has helped cement James as one of the most talked-about novels in modern literature.

Who Is Percival Everett?

Percival Everett is a Pulitzer Prize–winning author known for writing genre-defying fiction that blends satire, philosophy, and social commentary. His earlier novel, Erasure, was adapted into the Oscar-winning film American Fiction starring Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown. Like much of his work, James continues Everett’s exploration of who gets to tell stories—and how those stories shape cultural understanding.

Why This Book Matters Right Now

The selection of James as Katie Couric’s April 2026 book club pick feels particularly timely and bold. Conversations about representation and historical narratives are ongoing and widely debated. By shifting the lens of one of the most important works of fiction in American literary history to Jim, Percival Everett invites readers to reconsider whose stories have been told throughout history—and whose have not.

Since leaving her roles on the Today show and CBS News, Couric has steadily built a media empire that spans social media and her Substack newsletter. Since launching her book club earlier this year, she has quickly established herself as a powerhouse in the reading community, rivaling literary tastemakers like Oprah Winfreyand Reese Witherspoon.

By choosing James, rather than a more lightweight seasonal read, Couric doubles down on her mission to get readers to “scroll less, read more,” while spotlighting a book that is both culturally relevant and deeply thought-provoking.

James is exactly the kind of selection that defines the Katie Couric Book Club—and a key reason why Couric is quickly becoming a leading voice for readers and social media audiences alike.

However, Season 13 of the show revealed a growing estrangement between the TLC star and some of her friend group. None of the cast members have responded on Instagram to the birth announcement, as of writing.

Also in Season 13—which premiered in July and ended in September 2025—Whitney, who has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), explored the idea of starting a family of her own. She tried artificial insemination in an attempt to get pregnant but did not get a positive pregnancy test by the end of the season.

As of writing, TLC has not announced a premiere date for Season 14. My Big Fat Fabulous Life can be streamed on HBO Max.

McDonald's Is Quietly Shaking Up Its Menu In a Big Way

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 4:56pm

McDonald's has always been synonymous with the burger, but a major shift is quietly underway, and your wallet might actually thank them for it.

With beef prices continuing to climb, the fast food giant is leaning harder into chicken, and it's not alone. Burger King and Wendy's have been making similar moves, with industry experts pointing to tightening beef supply as the driving force.

For McDonald's, the chain has been quietly testing a new lineup of McCrispy Strip flavors across select locations, generating serious buzz on social media in the process.

View this post on Instagram

Popular food account Snackolator has been among those tracking the tests closely, posting on Friday, April 4 that "McDonald's is still testing new Glazed or Seasoned McCrispy Strips and these NEED to go nationwide! They've got six options that really unlock the potential of the McCrispy Strips."

READ MORE: Trader Joe's April Fools Post Backfired — Now Fans Won't Stop Begging Them to Make It Real

While a plain version of the strips debuted in 2015, with a brief return in 2025, the new flavors are a welcome addition to the menu. The potential flavors being tested include Sweet Chili, Teriyaki, Kickin' BBQ, Spicy Chili Garlic, Garlic Parm, and Sweet Asian—a mix of sauces and dry rubs that signals McDonald's is thinking well beyond the classic dipping sauce approach. While nothing has been confirmed for a nationwide rollout, the enthusiasm from both fans and food media suggests it's only a matter of time.

“The bbq ones were so good they need to bring those back,” one fan begged.

“The spicy chili garlic ones look amazing!” another wrote.

A third commented, “I would definitely try the garlic parm.”

The chicken push isn't the only thing shaking up McDonald's menu right now. The chain has also teamed up with Netflix for a limited-edition collaboration inspired by the streamer's KPop Demon Hunters series, dropping two adult combo meals—The Saja Boys Breakfast Meal and The HUNTR/X Meal—each with collectibles and South Korean-inspired flavors.

A new Derpy McFlurry rounds out the collab. "Everything we do at McDonald's is for the fans, and no one can relate to that more than Netflix and KPop Demon Hunters," said Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald's chief marketing and customer experience officer. The limited-time menu items are available now while supplies last.

1984 Hit Ranked Among 'Best Breakup Songs' of All Time Became a Devastating Anthem

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 3:56pm

Late singer-songwriter Leonard Cohenreleased his beloved hit "Hallelujah" in 1984. Over the last 40 years, the song has proven to be a timeless anthem and has been covered by several popular artists, including k.d. lang,Bob Dylan, and Jeff Buckley.

Cohen's heartbreaking lyrics are likely why so many have been drawn to the song, off the 1984 album Various Positions. In February 2026, Billboardrecognized "Hallelujah" as the 43rd "Best Breakup Song of All Time."

In a 1995 interview with CBC, Cohen, who was 82 when he died in 2016, commented on the song's somewhat depressing lyrics regarding the act of love. The musician shared that he believed love can be quite painful.

"I don't think any one goes into that pit well-armed. I don't think there's anybody that masters love. You know, I think the heart is always cooking like shish kebab ... crackling and bubbling," said the Canadian poet during the 1995 interview.

Leonard Cohen Shared His Thoughts About Other Artists Covering 'Hallelujah'

During a 2009 interview with CBC, Cohen shared his thoughts about other musicians covering "Hallelujah."

"I think it's a good song but I mean I think too many people are singing it. I think people got to stop singing it for a little while," quipped Cohen.

He clarified that he's pleased when musicians take the time to cover his works.

"I had a very modest career for most of my life, and I was always happy when someone did one of my songs, so that overrode most of the critical concerns I might have had. In fact, you know, my critical faculties went into suspended animation when someone would do one of my songs. And I, generally, was just delighted," said Cohen during the interview.

Cohen also said that Dylan was the first major artist to take notice of "Hallelujah" with his 1988 cover.

"I think the song came out in '83 or '84 and then the only person who seemed to recognize the song was Dylan," said Cohen to CBC.

He then said that the song got even more popular when Buckley released his version of "Hallelujah" in 1994.

Two 'Brady Bunch' Stars Tried Dating After the Show Ended and It Did Not Go as Planned

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 3:53pm

After five years of playing brother and sister on one of TV's most beloved sitcoms, two Brady Bunch stars decided to see if there was something more between them.

Eve Plumb, 67, revealed in a Page Six interview shared on Saturday, April 4 that she and her former Brady Bunch costar Christopher Knight, 68, went on an actual date shortly after the beloved ABCsitcom wrapped in 1974. The two had spent five years playing siblings together (Jan and Peter Brady, respectively), which—as it turned out—made romance pretty much impossible.

"It was sweet," Plumb recalled of the outing. "It was fun, but we were really already by that time just too good of friends to make that transition into being romantic partners." In an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond, she described the evening with a laugh: "Any attempts at making out that evening ended with laughter and resignation that we'd always be sister and brother, even in real life."

If anything, the failed date only seemed to strengthen their bond. Decades later, Plumb and Knight remain close friends, keeping up monthly Zoom calls with their spouses—Plumb married business consultant Ken Pace in 1995, while Knight wed businesswoman Cara Kokenes in 1996. "We've stayed friends to this day," Plumb told the outlet, adding that the two are "due for" one of their regular catch-ups.

Plumb's memoir also pulls back the curtain on what the Brady Bunch set was actually like during its five seasons on ABC. The show, which ran from 1969 to 1974, presented one of television's most cheerful visions of family life—but things weren't always as harmonious behind the camera. A long-running feud between series lead Robert Reed and creator Sherwood Schwartz played out quietly in the background, something co-star Barry Williams (Greg Brady) brought to public attention in his own book about the experience.

"We knew there was tension," Plumb told Woman's World earlier this year. "You'd hear the door slam, and then we'd go on and do something else. It's like it is in any family—when there's discord, you figure out a way to get through it."

As for her memoir, don't expect bombshells. "People always want secrets," Plumb said plainly. "And I didn't get a big publisher because I wasn't throwing anybody under the bus."

I’m a Stylist and This Is the One Haircut Men Should ‘Never’ Get After 40

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 3:45pm

Experimenting with different hairstyles is a rite of passage for both men and women, and it can help you discover which looks flatter you the most. Then again, you might find that it's a bit more challenging to switch up your style as you get older since your hair tends to change over time.

Fret not, there are still ways to keep your hair looking fresh, regardless of your age, but it can take a bit more planning. With this in mind, Parade checked in with a hairstylist to learn more about the one haircut men should never get after 40.

Jennifer Korab is a celebrity hairstylist, colorist, educator and founder of Renaissance Salon & Spa. Throughout her career, she's worked with several celebrities and influencers, including Denise Bidot, Danielle Carolan, Elyse Meyers and more.

While working with clients, Korab has noticed that men over 40 tend to make a few of the same haircut mistakes. She's also developed plenty of tricks for styling men's hair as they get older. Below, she's sharing everything you need to know about finding the right hairstyle to flatter your features and style your ever-evolving hair as you navigate your 40s and well beyond.

The Haircut Men Should Never Get After 40, Stylist Warns

There's no one-size-fits-all haircut for men over 40, but there is one style that's best to avoid, according to Korab: super short, one-length buzz cuts.

This style might work in your 20s and 30s, but it's often much less flattering once you hit your 40s.

"They tend to highlight thinning hair or receding hairlines instead of softening the look," Korab tells Parade

Why This Haircut Can Be Unflattering on Older Men

Theoretically, a shorter hairstyle sounds flattering, but a buzz cut isn't necessarily the best option for men over 40 since hair can thin with age.

"A very short cut leaves no room for texture or shape, which usually helps the style feel more balanced," Korab says.

Additionally, Korab says cutting your hair too short can "make hair look flat and draw attention to sparse areas."

How Hair Changes With Age

As you age, your hair, skin and nails change, so it's important to adapt your self-care routine over time.

When it comes to hair, men can encounter several differences as they get older.

"Hair can lose density, shine and even change texture," Korab explains. "Gray hair is often coarser, so styles that worked in your 20s/30s may not sit the same way now."

The Most Common Haircut Mistakes Men Over 40 Make

Throughout her career, Korab has encountered clients of all ages, and she's noticed that men over 40 tend to make a few of the same mistakes. For instance, she says keeping the same haircut for decades is never a good idea.

“As we age, hair texture, density and face shape subtly change. Sticking with the same haircut can look outdated and fail to complement these changes. Updating your style helps refresh the hair and looks more youthful," she says.

Two other common mistakes include ignoring your face shape when choosing a haircut and using heavy products that weigh the hair down, thereby making it appear thinner.

3 Haircuts a Stylist Recommends Instead for Men Over 40

Not sure what to ask for when you head to the salon? Korab says the following styles are flattering for men over 40.

1. Textured crops

Getty

“A textured crop is great because it adds movement and dimension, which helps cover thinning areas," she explains.

2. Layered cuts

Getty

“Layered cuts help create the illusion of fullness and make hair appear thicker," she says.

3. Classic side part

“A classic side-part helps direct the hair in a way that adds volume,” Korab tells Parade.

2 Grooming Tips To Make Men Look Younger

Your grooming habits can help make you look younger, according to Korab, who recommends the following tips.

1. Regular trims

The stylist says cutting your hair regularly helps "prevent hair from looking overgrown or uneven," which can "age your overall appearance.”

2. Keeping facial hair clean

Keeping facial hair clean and well-groomed "frames the face better and creates a more put-together look," per Korab.

How To Style Thinning Hair After 40

If your hair isn't as thick as it once was, Korab recommends the following styling tips for men over 40.

1. Keep the top longer

Korab notes that leaving some length on the top "helps create the appearance of fuller hair" if your mane is thinning.

2. Consider a side part

If you're dealing with thinning hair, Korab says a side part can "help redirect the hair to cover sparse areas."

3. Use lightweight products

Korab says lightweight products "add volume and prevent the hair from being weighed down.”

“A light styling product prevents the hair from sitting flat against the scalp," she says.

1971 Career-Defining Classic Was No. 1 Hit 55 Years Ago Today

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 3:19pm

In 1971, Sonny James added another milestone to an already remarkable career.

His single, "Empty Arms," climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, continuing a streak of chart-topping success that few artists in country music history have matched. By that point, James had already established himself as one of the genre's most consistent hitmakers, and audiences were ready for yet another evocative track.

Known for his smooth voice and polished delivery, James brought a sense of emotional clarity to "Empty Arms," turning it into a standout song of the era. The track's lyrics center on heartbreak and longing, capturing the quiet pain of lost love with a restrained, heartfelt approach that resonated deeply with listeners.

The success of "Empty Arms" was part of an extraordinary run for James, who scored an unprecedented string of consecutive No. 1 hits throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s. That consistency helped cement his reputation as one of country music's most reliable and influential artists during the period.

Often referred to as "The Southern Gentleman," James became known not only for his music but also for his professionalism and crossover appeal, which brought country music to a broader audience.

"Different type songs are needed along the way for freshness and variety.. but without changing the artist," James told biographer Dave Samuelson. "Loyal fans have certain things they listen for on each record."

One of James' earliest hits, "Young Love," became his signature song after it's 1956 release. "It caught the people in merchandising off guard… being a country artist they looked for me to sell a certain amount of records and each release was based on that," James said. "In other words, they didn't want to overpress before any record was released… the song surprised everybody it hit so fast, and was such a hit."

The song laid the groundwork for the impressive career that would follow; James became one of the most successful male country artists of his era. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

More than five decades later, "Empty Arms" remains a defining example of Sonny James' signature sound, a career-defining classic that continues to stand as a testament to his lasting impact on country music.

Chicago West Adorably Roasts Mom Kim Kardashian’s Memorable ‘KUWTK’ Diamond Earring Tantrum

Sat, 04/04/2026 - 3:16pm

In one of the most iconic scenes from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim Kardashianthrows…well, a Kardashian-level tantrum after then-beau Kris Humphries tosses her into the ocean. While Kardashian initially giggles and smiles at the prank, things take a major turn when she realizes one of her diamond earrings is missing. Clutching her lobes, the reality TV star screams, “My earrings are gone!” continuing, “I’m going to cry. My diamond earring. Seriously.” And yes, by now we all know that she does, in fact, start to cry. She follows her in-ocean tantrum with a rant on dry land.

Of course, Kardashian has a pretty good reason to cry. After all, as she points out, “Literally, that’s $75,000.” Kim did clarify the scene on the Call Her Daddy podcast, telling host Alex Cooper, “That was like one of my first biggest purchases. So, they weren’t insured yet. That’s why I was so upset, is because that would be money down the drain.” As it turns out, little sis Kylie Jennerdove down into the ocean and found Kim’s missing diamond earring. Not only did she find the earring, but she also found the back too!

So what does this kind of magical moment in reality television history have to do with Kim’s daughter, Chicago West? Khloé Kardashian recently posted a hilariously cute clip of her daughter, True Thompson, and the Kardashian cousins (including Psalm West, Chicago West, and Dream Kardashian) recreating some of the most viral memes on Instagram

View this post on Instagram

Along with roasting shots of celebs like Anthony Mackie, Zac Efron, and grandmaKris Jenner, the video also gently mocks Kim’s diamond earring in the ocean KUWTK scene. Eight-year-old Chi grabs her ear and makes a pained face as the clip of her famous mommy plays at the bottom of the screen. And fans can’t get enough of the absolutely adorable little girl.

Internet celebrity Austin McBroom commented, “Now I gotta do this with my kids lol,” while actress Viola Davis wrote, “Sooo sweet.” One fan joked, “Not the Kim slander,” and another noted, “Chi was on point.”

The praise for Chicago’s roasting skills didn’t end there. More applause for Chicago’s roasting skills poured in: “Chi doing Kim’s iconic scene is gold,” “That earring meme is diabolical”, and “The way Chi is so good at imitating Kim is hilarious.”

While mocking mom, Kim, was pure precious precociousness at its best, Chi’s cousin also made fans laugh with her loving imitation of “Lovey” on the phone (a.k.a. Grandma Kris Jenner).
