Meghan Markle Posts New Videos Of Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet For Easter
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has shared a series of brand-new videos featuring her children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex. The new videos, which were shared on Markle's Instagram account, show the children looking for Easter eggs and conclude with a clip of Archie decorating an egg for the holiday, with Lilibet seemingly doing the same in the background.
View this post on InstagramAs is true of most photos and videos that Markle and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, share of their children, both Archie and Lilibet's faces are mostly hidden from view, with clips being filmed either from behind or at an angle that will obscure their faces.
However, the children seem to be enjoying the festive day, with Princess Lilibet not only carrying around a rabbit stuffed animal as she searches for eggs but also donning a pair of bunny ears on her head. Archie also shows off an advanced way of decorating eggs, with a dinosaur themed object that spins the egg as he colors it.
This update from Markle comes after Prince Harry's brother, Prince William, Prince of Wales stepped out for the royal family's annual Easter outing alongside wife Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. This appearance was an unexpected one, as the Waleses have missed the last two Easter outings due to Middleton's cancer diagnosis.
This Easter thus marks another holiday on which these two branches of the royal family, the Waleses and the Sussexes, seem to be celebrating separately from one another, without any overt communication between the two. Publicly, the relationship between the brothers has been distant and strained since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their royal duties in 2020.
Since then, the Wales family has continued to attend royal engagements—with a hiatus as Middleton was undergoing cancer treatments—and the Sussex family has been living a private life in the United States, occasionally appearing at events, though not as part of royal duties.
Speculation remains regarding whether Prince William and Prince Harry will eventually mend the relationship, but it seems that this Easter is yet another holiday that has passed without any public communication between them.
1973 Hit Ranked Among ‘Greatest Songs of All Time’ Became a Timeless Anthem
A haunting song released more than 50 years ago was ranked among the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” At No. 197 is “I Can’t Stand the Rain,” a 1973 hit by Ann Peebles, a track that continues to influence music across generations.
The recognition comes from Rolling Stone, which praised the song’s eerie opening and lasting emotional impact. The track stands out for its unique sound, heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocal delivery, helping it remain relevant decades after its release.
“I Can’t Stand the Rain” was created during a sudden storm in 1973. Peebles, along with songwriter Don Bryant and radio personality Bernard “Bernie” Miller, were on their way to a blues show when the rain began pouring.

Frustrated by the weather, Peebles said the now-famous line: “I can’t stand the rain.” That moment sparked an idea. Bryant began playing around with the phrase on the piano, and the group quickly turned it into a full song that same night.
Producer Willie Mitchell immediately recognized its potential. He added a unique sound using electric timbales, creating the track’s now-iconic opening. The unusual rhythm gave the song a mysterious feel, often compared to a strange sonar sound echoing through water.
“When I heard it,” Bryant remembered, “it blew my mind.”
The final result was a deeply emotional track about lost love, with the rain acting as a symbol of sadness and memory. Peebles’ voice transformed the simple idea into something powerful, turning a quiet moment into a dramatic story.
Although the song was not the biggest hit at the time, it became Peebles’ signature track. It reached No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 6 on the R&B chart, making it her highest-charting single.
Over time, its impact only grew stronger. According to the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, legendary Beatle John Lennon once called it “the best song ever,” showing just how deeply it resonated with fellow musicians.
The track has also been covered and reimagined by many artists, including Tina Turner, whose version introduced it to a wider global audience. In the world of hip-hop, Missy Elliott sampled it in her 1997 hit “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” bringing the song to a new generation of listeners.
Peebles herself became known as one of the most consistent voices in Memphis soul music. Born in Missouri in 1947, she grew up in a musical family and started singing in church at a very young age. Her career took off after she joined Hi Records, where she worked closely with Mitchell and a group of talented musicians known for their smooth, soulful sound.
Despite stepping away from performing after a stroke in 2012, Peebles’ music continues to live on. She was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2014, further cementing her legacy.
The recent passing of Don Bryant in December 2025 has also brought renewed attention to their work together. As her longtime collaborator and husband, Bryant played a key role in shaping many of her biggest songs, including “I Can’t Stand the Rain.”
Today, the track remains a powerful example of how a simple idea can turn into a timeless anthem.

Taylor Frankie Paul Opens Up About Last 40 Days: ‘Hell on Earth’
Taylor Frankie Paul is opening up about recent challenges.
On Sunday, Apr. 5, which is also Easter Sunday, Paul shared how her faith has helped her get through the last 40 days of her life. In Christianity, the number 40 is often symbolic of a period of trial and hardship before the fulfillment of God's promises.
"The last 40 days felt like hell on earth," the reality star wrote on Instagram. "Through every panic attack I prayed for strength as I could feel my body breaking down and out from the distress of it all. And HE sent just that in various ways along with so many undeniable signs saying 'I am with you' which I can’t wait to share that part."
"I’ve prayed since I was young and never strayed away because I believe he wants us to ask for help especially during our lowest points," she continued. "However, instead of just asking I switched over to thanking him at the end of each day no matter how low I felt."
The accompanying video shows photos of Paul looking distressed as well as Bible passages, encouraging texts from friends and family, and journal entries.

View this post on InstagramIn March, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen related to incidents that allegedly occurred in February 2026.
The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and that “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.
Hulu paused filming of season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives due to the ongoing investigation. Shortly, after, ABC pulled the plug on Paul's season of The Bachelorette after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appeared to show her assaulting Mortensen back in 2023.
Paul also temporarily lost custody of her 2-year-old son with Mortensen, and the pair have a court date scheduled for Apr. 7.
After Paul's season of The Bachelorette was cancelled, the reality star broke her silence via a statement from her representation.
“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm,” the statement read. “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”

‘Marshals’ Episode 6 Ending Explained: Explosive Shootout, Missing Girls Rescue and Surprise 'Yellowstone' Cameo
In Episode 5 of Marshals, “Lost Girls,” a failed attempt to sell Monica’s (Kelsey Asbille) mustang leads Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Tate (Brecken Merrill) to Hayley, a teen girl later revealed to have been missing for months from the Broken Rock Reservation. Though the case is outside their jurisdiction, Kayce and Miles (Tatanka Means) push forward, uncovering a trafficking operation targeting Indigenous girls. As the rest of the team juggles a witness protection assignment, they quietly work the case, identifying a suspect named Bledsoe. After tracking a camper and engaging in a highway shootout, they discover the girls aren’t there, ending the episode on a grim cliffhanger with multiple victims, including Hayley, still missing.
In Episode 6, “Out of the Shadows,” Marshals continues its two-part storyline with a haunting opener. In a flashback set one year earlier, Kayce and Tate are at home with Monica, whose death is briefly revisited as she lies covered in bed — a quiet but powerful reminder of the loss still shaping both of them. Back in the present, Tate is frustrated with his father for letting Hayley go, believing rescuing her is a way to honor his mother. That pressure only adds to the tension already building around the case.
Kayce also faces pushback from Miles, who can’t let go of the moment Hayley slipped away. While Kayce chose to respect her decision to protect the other girls, Miles is driven by his own past and by the fact that, since joining the marshals, he’s become an outsider on the reservation. He sees rescuing the missing girls as a chance at redemption, a goal that becomes even more personal when he and Cal return to Broken Rock to inform Ava’s mother of her death.
Meanwhile, Skinner and Cruz make a breakthrough, using CCTV and investigative work to connect the trafficking operation to the Iron Sentinels, a violent and highly organized motorcycle gang. To get close, Skinner returns to her undercover roots, donning an old alias and infiltrating a biker rally with confiscated drugs. But the plan quickly unravels when she’s recognized, triggering a shootout that forces the team into action. In the chaos, the marshals manage to gain the upper hand, uncovering a truck filled with drugs and, more importantly, the missing girls.
Keep reading for our spoiler-filled recap of Marshals Season 1, Episode 6, "Out of the Shadows."
A Yellowstone cameoA remembrance ceremony for Monica on the Broken Rock Reservation has been mentioned by multiple characters over several episodes. And as Episode 6 winds down, it once again feels like something that might be saved for later. Instead, viewers finally get to see it here.
Tate, Kayce, Chairman Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) are all in attendance, as expected, but the moment also brings a welcome surprise: Felix Long (Rudy Ramos), who longtime viewers will recognize as Monica’s grandfather from Yellowstone. He shares a touching exchange with Tate and warmly greets Kayce, telling him, “Losing Monica was painful enough. Your presence makes me feel like I haven’t lost another son too.”
It’s a heartfelt scene and a strong Yellowstone callback. As for Monica’s father? One of the biggest mysteries from Yellowstone also remains a mystery in Marshals — at least for now.
Related: The Dutton Family Tree, Explained: Every Generation From ‘1883’ to ‘Yellowstone’ and Beyond
Tate and Kayce grow further apartYou’d think losing Monica would bring Kayce and Tate closer together, but more often it’s become a wedge between them. Tate is deeply focused on honoring his mother’s memory, even sleeping in front of her headstone at East Camp from time to time. Kayce is grieving too, often clutching her necklace and telling Tate in Episode 6, “I know how you’re feeling. Losing your mom put a hole in my heart that will never heal." But he’s never been the most emotionally available character.
Kayce’s reluctance to attend the remembrance ceremony, along with his attempt to sell Monica’s stubborn mustang, only reinforces Tate’s belief that his father is trying to move on when in reality, he’s just as torn up inside. That disconnect continues to shape one of the show’s most compelling dynamics. Whether the ceremony helps them, and the audience, begin to move forward from Monica Dutton’s storyline in Marshals remains to be seen.
In Episode 3, “Road to Nowhere,” viewers saw a moment that didn’t quite add up at the time but gets a subtle callback in Episode 6. The biker who recognizes Skinner at the rally remembers her from a nearby casino, where she was gambling — and losing — under a different name: Turek. Because she’s wired, Cal hears the exchange and later questions her about it, but Skinner brushes it off, suggesting the biker was probably high or mistaken.
However, that name isn’t new. Back in Episode 1, “Piya Wiconi,” Kayce refers to her as “Isabel Turek,” noting her family’s background in breeding cutting horses, a detail Skinner quickly asks him to keep to himself. But with her alias resurfacing again in Episode 6, it’s clear Skinner’s past is starting to catch up with her and it’s likely only a matter of time before more of it comes to light.

1963 Ultra Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 63 Years Ago Today
“Don’t Let Me Cross Over” by Carl Butler and Pearl left behind a timeless classic that stole the hearts of the public.
With its deeply emotional duet and unforgettable melody, it became a sure hit that resonated across generations.
Sixty-three years ago today, the husband-and-wife country music duo released a simple yet powerful song that went on to become a No. 1 song, as cited by Birthday Jams.
At the time, the track spent a total of 11 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot on the Billboard Country Singles chart, only four weeks after its official release.
Due to the public’s strong reception and overwhelming support, “Don’t Let Me Cross Over” was the record holder for the longest-running No. 1 song for a performer’s debut single on the Hot Country Singles chart for 51 years, as cited by Royalty Exchange.

However, the duo’s reign ended after Florida Georgia Line released their debut single “Cruise” and became the longest-running No. 1 song in the history of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 2013, spending 24 consecutive weeks at the top of the rankings.
While the rankings proved how widely loved and enduring the hit song was, “Don’t Let Me Cross Over” was also covered by other notable artists, including country icon Dolly Parton, who featured it on her 1996 album Treasures.
The “9 to 5” hitmaker considered the legendary country-western duo as her mentors, having worked alongside them during her formative years as a musician.
Moreover, the couple also became her “second parents” with Pearl taking her under her wing long before she became a rising star.
With this, the cover also serves as a tribute to their remarkable influence and lasting legacy in country music.
View this post on InstagramBeyond their 1962 smash hit, the musical duo released numerous songs that ranked on the U.S. country charts.
This includes the 1964 track “Too Late to Try Again” that reached No. 9 on the charts, “Loving Arms” and “I'm Hanging Up the Phone” both at No. 14, and “Just Thought I'd Let You Know” which landed at No. 22 on the charts.
In addition, “Forbidden Street,” released in 1964, ranked 23, while “Punish Me Tomorrow” ranked 28 on the charts.

Fans Say They 'Gotta Try' Mike's Hard Lemonade's 'Dirty' New Release

I can’t say I’ve fully bought into the whole dirty soda craze yet, but I can understand the logistics to some degree, despite my personal hesitations. It’s basically just a root beer float in a different font when you really think about it, and as your resident float aficionado, maybe I’ve been a bit too harsh on the trend. Despite my own slow adoption of the beverage craze sweeping the nation, dirty soda has developed a cult following of sorts, and it has grown well beyond its humble Utah roots into an all-out global sensation.
The phenomenon, first popularized by the St. George-based beverage bar Swig, has taken on a life of its own, with more and more brands jumping on the bandwagon. Taco Bell recently made dirty sodas a permanent fixture on its menu, Twizzlers launched a limited-time coconut and lime vanilla flavored straw inspired by the classic pairing, and Dr. Pepper just announced that it’s bringing back its best-selling creamy coconut flavor for a limited time. It’s truly become the flavor stamp of the 2020s.

And as if we didn’t already have plenty of options to choose from, Mike's Hard is giving the dirty soda trend a boozy twist with the release of new Mike’s Dirty Lemonades. Yep, that’s right, friends. Mike’s is getting dirty. The unexpected launch takes inspiration from the smooth, creamy vibe of dirty soda and reimagines it in the way that only Mike’s can.
To make the trend its own, Mike’s ditched the carbonation and instead created four unbelievably smooth flavors, including:
- Pineapple Haze: Ripe pineapple and lemon rounded out with creamy coconut notes.
- Very Berry Grape: Juicy grape and bright lemon blended together with a medley of tangy berry flavors.
- Dirty Lemon Secret: Bright citrus with a tart snap, balanced by just the right touch of sweetness and hot honey flavor.
- Dark Cherry Brew: Lush cherry and citrus layered with warm cherry spice flavors and a cola-like finish for added depth.
Each can has a 4.5 percent ABV and is made for sipping, whether you’re winding down after a long day at work or enjoying a low alcohol lift while hanging with friends. Of course, it should come as no surprise that word of the new launch sent fans into a frenzy, with several saying they “can’t wait to try them.” “Sounds so good!!!!” said one enthusiastic fan. “Ooh, those sound good!” commented another person. A few people also asked if the drinks were gluten-free, which, sadly for my celiac peeps out there, they are not.
Where to Find Mike's Dirty LemonadeIf you are intrigued by Mike’s Dirty Lemonades, you can grab a 12-can variety pack wherever Mike’s are sold, including Kroger, Target and Total Wine. Maybe I can get down with this whole dirty soda thing after all. Well, at least as long as it’s a Mike’s.

View this post on InstagramRumer Willis Claps Back Against Breastfeeding Backlash: ‘Sorry, Not Sorry’
Bruce Willisand Demi Moore’s daughter, actress Rumer Willis, has some pretty strong opinions—and she is not afraid to let fans know. The 37-year-old single mom recently took to Instagram, posting a video amid a very public breastfeeding backlash.
Celebrity mom-shaming isn’t exactly new. From Ashley Graham to Mila Kunis, plenty of famous mommies have felt the public’s wrath. And while some mamas shy away from the spotlight. Others (like Willis) stand up for themselves.
Why is the public mom-shaming Rumer Willis? This isn’t the first time the mom has faced breastfeeding backlash. Back in 2023, Willis shared a pic of herself nursing her then-four-month-old daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis (a.k.a. Lou), at the beach. Some commenters took issue with the new mom’s Instagram Stories clip, criticizing her for revealing a private moment. Willis clapped back, letting everyone know that she had absolutely no shame about breastfeeding in public.
Fast-forward to 2026, and Willis is experiencing some major deja vu. Despite making it clear that she celebrates her ability to breastfeed, it looks like some people still have a problem with it. The actress continues to nurse her almost-three-year-old (Lou’s birthday is April 18), and has some strong words for her critics.
What did Rumer Willis post about breastfeeding on Instagram? In her latest video, Willis starts by showing herself nursing Lou. The statement, “When someone starts judging my parenting,” is written over the image, and the caption reads, “Sorry not sorry.”
View this post on InstagramThe post also includes an ‘instructional’ Venn diagram TikTok clip that perfectly illustrates how Willis appears to feel. The woman in the video begins with two circles, “This is my business, and this is yours.” She goes on to draw an “X” in the “my business” circle and says, “I am here. The problem is…You are also here. When you need to be…here.” And if you’re wondering where here is, it’s in the “your business” circle.
What happened after the mom posted her breastfeeding clip? And so the backlash begins…again. Commenters piled on Willis's post, adding their takes on the mom’s views. One wrote, “By posting your private moment with your daughter, you are making it everyone’s business.”
Of course, it wasn’t all negative. Plenty of the mom’s fans backed her up with comments such as, “She’s making people accept long-term breastfeeding. Normal for thousands of years. Except the last 100, the years of marketing,” and, “I think it’s great seeing moms advocate for breastfeeding. At the end of the day, fed is best, however, I know a lot of women who quit nursing because of the lack of support from other women.”
Van Halen Fans Are Mourning the Loss of a Behind-the-Scenes Legend
Most people outside of rock's inner circles wouldn't recognize his name, but every note on Van Halen's greatest records carries is because of him.
Donn Landee, the engineer and co-producer behind Van Halen's first eight studio albums, has died of natural causes at the age of 79, per Van Halen News Desk. The outlet shared the news on Sunday, April 5.
Landee's career began working on records like the Doors' Waiting for the Sun before joining Warner Bros. as a staff engineer in 1971. It was there that he formed what would become one of rock's most fruitful partnerships—teaming up with producer Ted Templeman on a string of landmark albums by the Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, and Van Morrison, among others. The two also collaborated on the first two albums by Montrose, a California hard rock outfit fronted by a then-unknown Sammy Hagar.

Van Halen cited Montrose as a direct influence on their choice of Templeman and Landee for their explosive 1978 self-titled debut—a record that announced the band to the world and sounded like nothing else on the radio at the time. Landee went on to engineer the band's first eight albums, and his contributions extended well beyond the recording console. He played a key role in helping guitarist Eddie Van Halen construct his legendary 5150 home studio, reportedly even helping the band convince city officials the project was a racquetball court rather than a professional recording facility.
When David Lee Roth departed and Hagar stepped in, Landee was elevated to co-producer on 1986's 5150 and 1988's OU812. Though OU812 marked his final studio collaboration with the band, he remained connected, helping remaster Van Halen albums for reissue campaigns and expanded box set editions.
Librarians Are Calling This New Novel the 'Best Book' To Read Before Bed
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
What's the last thing you do before bed? For many of us, it's staring into the blue light of our phones, unfortunately. We say that because it's no secret that using our phones before bed is a maladaptive habit. Yet, despite knowing that, it's a hard one to break. Plus, we need a positive one to replace it with. And that's where bedtime books come in handy.
Yes, the obvious answer is to replace the phone in your hand with a book. And we're not just saying that; sleep experts have found that reading before bed can reduce stress by up to 60%, gently helping you to relax and wind down for the night.
However, if you crave a peaceful night of rest, you probably don't want to dive into a violent thriller or another genre that would spike your cortisol levels and get you too pumped to drift off to sleep. There's also the balancing act of finding a story that's engaging enough to keep you reading, but not so engaging that you'll keep saying "just one more chapter" until 3 a.m.
So, to help us with this quandary, Parade turned to librarians. We interviewed two from different branches of the New York Public Library to share the best books to read before bed, including a brand new book they both recommend.

How To Get Into the Habit of Reading at Night, According to Librarians"Reading before bed has proven to be a great way to decompress before you decide to turn the lights out for the night," says Colin Vautrinot, a Supervising Librarian at Todt Hill-Westerleigh Library in Staten Island, NY.
He recommends curating a cozy environment to get into the zone. While many like to sit up with a book in bed, Vautrinot prefers cuddling up on the couch with a cozy blanket, a cold drink and a good read.
But how exactly can you get into the routine? Belinda Farley, a Library Information Assistant at Muhlenberg Library in Manhattan, has the answer: "Incorporate the act within or around a bedtime routine that you’ve already established," she says. "And keep it simple."
She emphasizes keeping the habit manageable: the more you stick to it, the more you'll naturally read each night.
"For instance, if the last thing that you do before you go to bed is brush your teeth, do that, and then commit to reading just five pages, or just one poem, before you turn off your night lamp," she shares.

The Best Genres To Read Before Going To SleepThe librarians say these are the best types of books for bedtime:
- "Cozy reads"
- Short books
- Poetry
- Meditation books
- Self-renewal books
- Travel writing
"'Cozy reads' are generally lighter reads that have a happy ending," explains Vautrinot.
He also recommends meditation and self-renewal books, which can help you go to bed with a clear mind. As for length, he advises reading shorter books so you don't stay up all night to finish a particularly engrossing read.
"Anything less than 250 pages is ideal," he states.
Speaking of brevity, poetry is an underrated genre to read at night.
"Poetry is a genre in need of more nods toward bedtime reading—pun intended," Farley jokes. "Not that poetry puts you to sleep, but because the best poem will land a line or a phrase with its reader that is so resonant, so unintentionally specific yet communal, that the solace found within its words transcends the cares of the day."
Travel writing can also be mentally transportive, providing "as much solace for the armchair or—in this case—bedtime reader, as an actual journey, itself," she says.
The Best New Novel To Read Before Bed, According to Librarians'The Book Witch' by Meg ShafferAmazon
Length: 320 pages
There's one new book out this spring that Vautrinot and Farley both love and think deserves the #1 spot on your nightstand: The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer. You can find it on shelves on April 7.
"At once a fantasy, a mystery, a romance and a love letter to reading, in general, this story concerns a main character whose job it is to right literary wrongs," Farley tells Parade.
"The story centers around a third-generation book witch who can jump in and out of her favorite stories to quell malicious alterations and rogue characters," Vautrinot explains.
Rainy's coven has forbidden her from seeing the Duke of Chicago, her favorite fictional character. The problem is, she needs his help to track down her grandfather and an invaluable book before it's too late.
Farley calls the novel a "cozy page turner" that will especially appeal to fans of Matt Haig's The Midnight Library.
The novel is engaging and approachable, making it an ideal bedtime read even if you don't typically gravitate towards fantasy. "The author's writing is engaging and will stick with you," Vautrinot promises.
"[The] fairytale vibes... will settle even the most restless sleeper," Farley says.

Vautrinot gushes about Upward Bound, a new novel that takes place at an adult daycare for persons with disabilities in LA. The clever, humor-filled novel delights and surprises with its interwoven narratives and sophisticated writing.
"You meet a group of staff and members who are full of life and vitality, although you may not see it on the surface," the librarian shares. "Even though this is an incredibly short read, it will engage you, and move you, leaving you wishing that you could meet this fascinating group of individuals."
2. 'Orbital' by Samantha HarveyAmazon
Length: 224 pages
Orbital documents a day in the life of a group of astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station. Readers witness a snapshot in the lives of these space travelers who hail from across the globe—a planet they are now viewing from above.
According to Farley, the novel "lulls and buoys readers in its vision of a wider, connected universal mission," acting as "a guidepost to sweet dreams."
3. 'Flourish: The Art of Building Meaning, Joy, and Fulfillment' by Daniel CoyleAmazon
Length: 208 pages
Written by cultural expert Daniel Coyle, Flourish focuses on groups who have formed profound, meaningful connections, from men trapped together in a Chilean mine to a Dutch soccer team that transformed the sport. Through research and original reporting, Coyle unpacks what differentiates these flourishing groups from others and how you can apply these principles and practices to your own life.
Vautrinot calls the book a "meaningful reflection piece" you can read in one night.
4. 'On The Calculation of Volume (Book 1)' (Series) by Solvej BalleAmazon
Length: 176 pages (Volume I)
This Danish series of novels follows Tara Selter, who finds herself in a Groundhog Day-like scenario when she gets stuck in time on the day of November 18th.
Three out of seven volumes have been published in English thus far, with the fourth coming out on April 14. According to the book description, the first volume "has the effect of a strong tranquilizer," as readers become intoxicated by the novel's construction of time, plot twists and wit.
"While reading along with how Tara addresses this conundrum, readers are left pondering their own daily habits and priorities, as they wonder how Tara’s dilemma will be resolved," Farley shares.
Amazon
Length: 480 pages
Barbara Chase-Riboud’s memoir, I Always Knew, epitomizes the comfort of travel writing that makes the genre an excellent choice for bedtime readers.
"In letters written to her mother that chronicle her transcontinental experiences as an African American woman establishing herself as an artist, this is a book that crosses seas to investigate the self and its creative potential," Farley says.
6. 'The Snakes That Ate Florida' by Ian FrazierAmazon
Length: 384 pages
This collection consists of articles across Ian Frazier's 50-year career as a reporter for The New Yorker. The pieces focus on the complexities of modern life, ranging from "the tragic secret life of the manufacturer of maraschino cherries" to stories on the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the book description.
"This compilation lends itself to nighttime reading in its style: read a selection, then call it a night," Vautrinot says.
7. 'Go Gentle' by Maria SempleAmazon
Length: 384 pages
Release date: April 14
The premise of this book is as captivating as its pink cover. According to Vautrinot, it follows "an amateur New York City philosopher who lives the single life to the fullest" and "meets a dark and handsome stranger, who unlocks a side of her she never knew she had." The novel is another upcoming release, out April 14, and is written by the New York Times bestselling author of Where'd You Go, Bernadette.
"Although this book is engaging, its style will allow you to put it down, but pick it right up after a great night's sleep," Vautrinot says.
8. 'Stay Dead' by Natalie ShaperoAmazon
Length: 104 pages
"Poet Natalie Shapero’s latest collection, Stay Dead, is the bedtime read you didn’t know you were craving," Farley states.
But don't worry; it isn't actually about death.
"This book of poems is more of a send-up of creative society in wry, irrelevant poems that are equally humorous and thought-provoking in ways that will make you smile as you drift off to sleep," she describes.
9. 'Change the Recipe: Because You Can't Build a Better World Without Breaking Some Eggs' by José AndrésAmazon
Length: 208 pages
You may recognize the author of this essay collection: famed chef and humanitarian José Andrés. "Although a quick read, this book is rich in content," Vautrinot shares.
"Written in José’s unmistakable voice, Change the Recipe is a collection of his most affecting and powerful life lessons: hard-won wisdom from a man who has dedicated his life to changing the world through the power of food," the book description reads.
10. 'Rest Is Resistance' by Tricia HerseyAmazon
Length: 224 pages
"The thesis of this book is literally its title," says Farley. Grounded in Black liberation, womanism, somatics and Afrofuturism, the book serves as a guide to break away from hustle culture and reclaim rest. While the librarian realizes that this type of book may not seem appealing to read before drifting off, she assures readers: "Do not be dismayed!"
"The pages here proceed like a reader’s ally. Emphasizing the importance of rest, naps, pacing and sleep, Hersey’s manifesto takes the guilt out of taking a break and turning in early, granting the reader 'permission' to rest within a society that often suggests otherwise," she shares.
11. 'More Than Enough' By Anna QuindlenAmazon
Length: 256 pages
You may already be familiar with Anna Quindlen from her wildly successful books like Rise and Shine, Lots of Candles and Plenty of Cake. Vautrinot calls her "a stalwart of the literary world and says that her latest novel, More Than Enough, brings the same talent.
"Polly Goodman, a high school English teacher, relishes her book club. So much so that they are her best friends. When they attempt to give her an ancestry test kit as a gag gift, the results leave Polly questioning everything," he describes.

All cooks this round are 35 minutes.
Dishes: Marcel decided to make grilled swordfish with champagne-battered fried King Trumpet mushrooms, salsa macha and a beet labneh, which is a Middle Eastern yogurt sauce. Stephanie went with swordfish tataki and trumpet mushroom "scallops" with a swordfish sauce and pickled beets.
Winner: By a score of 84 to 79, Stephanie defeated Marcel. Not really an upset, per se, because Stephanie is so decorated, but she finally seems to have shaken the TOC monkey off her back. Steph won by three points in taste and two on Randomizer; they tied in presentation.

Matchup 2: No. 5 Shirley Chung vs No. 8 Viet PhamRandomizer categories: Hanger steak for protein, haricot verts (green beans) for produce, immersion blender for equipment, appetizer duo for style and
cottage cheese for the wildcard ingredient. Damn, that feels like a hard Randomizer because of the equipment, style and wildcard.
Dishes: Shirley prepared a hanger steak carpaccio with mustard aioli and shaking beef with whipped cottage cheese for her duo. Viet decided to make tempura-battered fried haricot verts and a grilled hanger steak lettuce wrap with cottage cheese dipping sauce.
Winner: Shirley won handily by a score of 87 to 80 because Viet's haricot verts were overcooked and his sauce broke. That stinks for him, that's a bummer way to get eliminated. Shirley won by two points on taste and presentation and three points on use of the Randomizer.

Winner: By a score of 91 to 81 (WOW), Kenny pulled off another upset. He won by seven points on taste (is that the biggest margin on taste we've ever seen? I think it might be). He also won by two on Randomizer and one on presentation.

1975 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’
In 1975, a film arrived that would challenge traditional storytelling and redefine cinematic artistry.
The Mirror, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, has been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes. Perhaps even more impressive, the film holds a 100% score on the review aggregator, underscoring its critical acclaim.
Unlike conventional narratives, The Mirror unfolds as a deeply personal and poetic reflection on memory, identity and time. The film weaves together fragments of a man's life, blending childhood recollections, dreams and historical events into a nonlinear structure that mirrors the way memories are experienced.
Rather than following a straightforward plot, Tarkovsky uses striking imagery and emotional resonance to guide viewers through the story. The film shifts between past and present, juxtaposing intimate family moments with broader cultural and historical references, creating a layered and immersive experience.
At its core, The Mirror explores themes of nostalgia, loss and the passage of time, offering a meditation on the connections between personal memory and collective history. Its experimental style and philosophical depth have made it a defining work in world cinema.
"It's as if I always told the same story about the same character: about a man whom, for some reason, society considers to be weak and which I consider to be strong. I am convinced that precisely thanks to personalities of this sort, society can be strong and look courageously to the future and resist everything that aims to destroy it," Tarkovsky said in a 1979 interview.
"Likewise in Mirror the protagonist is presented as an extremely weak, reflective, being. An ill man, who remembers his own life during a crisis of his illness, without knowing if he will come out of it alive or not," he continued. "It is precisely for this reason that he remembers what he remembers. And instead here is this moribund man, this very weak man, who reveals himself to be very strong, because despite everything he does not belong to himself. He belongs to the persons whom he remembers, he belongs to the love that he gave them. And if he suffers, it is only because he did not love those who loved him enough. Is this perhaps weakness? This is strength."
While it may not have been a mainstream blockbuster upon release, the film has grown in stature over the decades, frequently appearing on critics' lists of the greatest films ever made.
With its inclusion in Rotten Tomatoes' roundup, and its rare perfect score, The Mirror continues to stand as a landmark achievement, proving that its impact on cinema remains as powerful as ever.

Psychologist Says if You Instantly Forget Why You Walked Into a Room, You Likely Have These 7 Traits
The self-help industry is constantly encouraging us to take up space in the figurative sense. Yet, you may struggle to remember precisely why you moved into a literal space—in other words, you may walk into a room and instantly forget your intention. There's some (neuro)science behind that, though.
"Your brain basically erases short-term thoughts when you walk through a doorway, like closing a tab on your phone," explains Dr. Sanam Hafeez, Psy.D., an NYC-based neuropsychologist and the director of Comprehend the Mind. "This is totally normal and happens to everyone, so it doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It happens because your brain uses your surroundings as anchors for your memories, so when the scenery changes, it can accidentally drop whatever thought was attached to the last room."
Still, if you constantly forget why you enter a room, it may be cause for concern, especially regarding your physical health.
"If you can't remember familiar names, faces or how to do things you've done a thousand times, that is concerning," she says. "Age plays a role, too. Occasional forgetfulness is normal, but if it's getting noticeably worse over time, that's a reason to talk to a doctor."
Forgetting why you stepped into a room isn't always physical. It's mental, too. Other times?
"It's just who you are, like being a naturally scattered and fast-moving person," the psychologist tells Parade.
In these instances, you may have specific characteristics—and you're probably not alone. Others who quickly forget why they entered a space can probably relate to the way you approach life, how you do tasks, as well as walking into rooms. Below, Dr. Hafeez explains that if you instantly forget why you walked into a room, you likely have these seven traits.
Is It Normal To Forget Why You Walked Into a Room?enviromantic/Getty Images
It can be normal to forget why you walked into a room, but it's circumstantial.
"It's completely normal when it happens occasionally, especially when you're tired, busy or just have a lot going on in your life," Dr. Hafeez says. "Your brain is doing its job, managing a ton of information at once, and sometimes a small thought just doesn't make the cut."
Still, the keyword here is "occasionally."
"It stops being normal when it's happening constantly, getting worse over time or coming with other signs like confusion, repeating yourself or forgetting things you just did," she adds. "If that sounds familiar, skip the googling and just make an appointment with your doctor. Catching something early always beats waiting."
Related: Psychologist Says People With High Levels of Self-Respect Never Share These 7 Personal Things
7 Traits of People Who Forget Why They Walked Into a Room, According to a Psychologist1. They're usually deep thinkersPeople who can't seem to remember why they walked into a room may seem thoughtless, but Dr. Hafeez contends they're often thoughtful.
"Their brain is already three steps ahead, planning the next thing, which means the current task gets bumped out before they even finish it," she states.
2. They try to multitask too muchOur brains weren't wired to multitask or do two things at once. In fact, only 2.5% of people can multitask effectively, according to one study. Instead, we "task switch," or do two things in rapid succession. Still, people who forget why they walked into a room often constantly try to multitask.
"When your brain is juggling five things at once, small intentions are the first to get dropped—the doorway just seals the deal," Dr. Hafeez states.
Related: The One Clever Trick To Help You Always Remember the Names of Everyone You Meet
3. They're often stressed or overwhelmedThis trait of people who instantly forget they walked into a door may induce the most empathy, especially in today's endless stream of headlines and strife.
"A busy, anxious mind has less room to hold onto small thoughts, so things slip through the cracks way more easily," Dr. Hafeez says.
4. They're creative typesDr. Hafeez says people who are creative—professionally or in hobbies—may struggle to remember why the heck they walked into a room. Think artists, writers, people who gravitate toward adult coloring books, marketing professionals, etc.
"Creative people naturally jump between ideas fast, which makes them more prone to losing a simple thought mid-stride," she explains.
5. They move with purpose—and quicklyTalk about whiplash. This one may seem odd, given that if someone had a strong reason to walk into a room, you'd think they'd remember it. Not so, at least not all the time, Dr. Hafeez says.
"They walk into rooms with energy and intention, but that quick physical shift is exactly what triggers the brain's reset," she shares.
6. They live mostly in their headDeep thinking types are especially likely to have this trait (and to forget why they opened a door and walked into a space).
"If you're always thinking deeply about something, your brain isn't prioritizing the small 'go grab the scissors' thought—it's busy with bigger stuff," Dr. Hafeez says.
7. They're sharp—seriouslyDr. Hafeez knows it may surprise others that people who regularly forget why they walked into a room, instantly, are actually pretty sharp overall.
"This happens more to people whose brains are highly active, so ironically, forgetting why you walked in is sometimes a sign of a busy, working mind—not a failing one," she reports.

How To Beat the 'Doorway Effect' 1. Say it out loud before you moveYes, fighting the "doorway effect" starts on this basic level. Yet, Dr. Hafeez notes that stating your intention before moving out loud can have a next-level effect on your memory.
"The second you verbalize what you're about to do, you're locking it in through a second sense," she notes. "Your brain holds onto it way stronger than if you just thought it quietly in your head."
2. Pause in the doorway for two secondsTake a moment before racing into a space—the world or your to-do list can wait.
"Instead of rushing through, just stop for a beat and remind yourself why you came," Dr. Hafeez advises. "That tiny pause interrupts the reset your brain is about to do, giving your memory a fighting chance before the new 'chapter' kicks in."
3. Go back to where the thought startedRetracing your steps can help when you forget where you put your keys and when you can't remember why you stepped into a room.
"If you already forgot, walk back to the room you came from," Dr. Hafeez suggests. "Because your memory is tied to location, being back in that space often brings the thought right back."

Final TakeawaysPeople often forget why they walk into a room, and this can signal everything from health issues to personality traits. Here's the TL;DR about what it means to forget why you walked into a room instantly:
- It could be a sign of physical health concerns. If you (or a loved one) constantly forget why you walked into a room, you may have a physical health concern, like cognitive decline.
- It can be a symptom of stress or mental health concerns. When you have a lot on your plate, it's natural to deprioritize remembering why you walked into a room.
- You may have certain traits if you instantly forget why you walked into a room. Dr. Hafeez says people who instantly forget why they walked into a room are often deep thinkers who move quickly and with intention, get stressed regularly and attempt to multitask too much.
- You can work on it, sometimes. Verbalizing your intention, pausing before you enter a room or retracing your steps and re-entering a space are all ways to defeat the doorway effect.
- Don't ignore it. Sometimes, forgetting why you walked into a room is a red flag. Dr. Hafeez shares that if this symptom accompanies other symptoms, such as confusion or forgetting names and occurs regularly, it's worth speaking to your doctor.

Several reviewers raved about the design, describing it as “adorable, beautiful, and very pretty.” One reviewer called this quilt set “fun” and said that it “brings a great beach vibe” to their bedroom.

As far as seasons go, there isn’t one more vibrant than spring. Verdant greens and buttery yellows, regal lavender hues and blushing pinks—it’s truly the most colorful time of year. Sure, autumn stuns with its vast array of bronzes and golden ochres as the world begins to cycle back to a period of general dormancy, but there’s no display quite like the way nature emerges from its metaphorical cocoon in the springtime. Wildflowers pushing their way through the topsoil, stretching out toward the sun; leaves unfurling and filling up branches, offering birds a place to make their home—isn’t it glorious?
Naturally, this seasonal reawakening calls us out of our hideaways too, inviting us to bask in the warmth of the sun while simultaneously enjoying our third (or fourth) non-negotiable white linen cocktail. And what better way to celebrate all the colors of spring than by pouring your tipple of choice into an equally colorful glass that’s practically made just for the season?
