Weekend Travel Alert: Widespread Storms Could Disrupt Plans Across the U.S.
If you’re planning to hit the road or take to the skies this weekend, the forecast is delivering a clear message: stay flexible. A large, active spring storm system is expected to sweep across multiple regions of the United States, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential severe weather that could disrupt travel from Friday through Sunday. For millions of Americans, that means delays, cancellations, and unpredictable conditions at airports and on highways.
Related: Travelers Are Being Warned That Severe April Weather May Cause Massive Flight Disruptions
A Busy Spring Weather PatternLate April is already one of the most volatile times of year for U.S. weather, and 2026 is proving no exception. Meteorologists are tracking a multi-day system fueled by strong atmospheric instability, which is expected to generate repeated rounds of storms across the Plains, Midwest, and into the East Coast.
This is part of a broader pattern of spring storm activity where weather systems linger, regenerate, and impact the same regions over several days. That increases the risk for travel disruption, especially when storms overlap major weekend travel windows.
What Travelers Should ExpectThe biggest concerns this weekend include:
- Flight delays and airport disruptions: Thunderstorms are among the leading causes of air traffic delays, and major hubs like Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, and Philadelphia are at risk of interruptions. Even storms far from your destination can ripple through the national flight network.
- Dangerous driving conditions: Heavy rain can quickly reduce visibility, while strong thunderstorms may bring sudden downpours, lightning, and localised flooding. In parts of the Plains and Midwest, stronger storms could also produce damaging winds and hail, making highway travel especially hazardous.
- Regional severe weather threats: Some areas may see more than just rain. Forecast discussions highlight the possibility of severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail and strong wind gusts, particularly across the central U.S. Storm systems in April have repeatedly produced tornado warnings in similar setups this season, adding another layer of risk for outdoor plans.
Spring is a transition season, where warm, moist air from the Gulf frequently collides with lingering cold air from the north. That clash creates the perfect environment for fast-developing storms.
What makes this weekend particularly challenging is the timing: the storm system is expected to affect multiple regions at once. When weather affects both departure and arrival cities simultaneously, airlines have fewer options to reroute flights efficiently, which increases delays across the board.
Related: The 5 Secret Costco Travel Perks You Need to Use This Spring
Tips For Travelers This WeekendIf you already have plans, you don’t necessarily need to cancel, but you should prepare:
- Monitor forecasts closely before leaving for the airport or long drives
- Build in extra time for travel delays and rerouting
- Avoid tight connections if possible
- Keep devices charged in case of sudden itinerary changes
- Have backup plans for outdoor events or road trips
- Check airline apps frequently for real-time updates
For road travelers, it’s especially important to avoid driving through severe thunderstorms or flooded roadways. Even a few inches of fast-moving water can create dangerous conditions.
This weekend’s weather is a reminder that spring travel in the U.S. often comes with uncertainty. While not every region will see severe impacts, the storm system's widespread nature means disruptions are likely across multiple parts of the country at different times.
Teddi Mellencamp Reveals She Consulted Her Oncologist About Using GLP‑1s
Teddi Mellencamp is opening up about a recent conversation with her oncologist amid her ongoing cancer treatment.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared that she consulted her doctor about going on GLP-1 medication on an episode of her podcast Two Ts in a Pod.
"I am a health and wellness coach who's dying of cancer," she began. "And because I gained weight from the steroids [from my treatment], because I'm getting bigger from the steroids, I asked my doctor if I could please have GLP-1s. And he was like, 'No!'"
Co-host, Tamra Judge, quipped, "I'm so sorry someone told you no, but I don't know that I'd listen!"
"I mean, I know people where I could get it," Mellencamp replied. "I have friends that do it." To which Judge said, "Well, I'm taking it tomorrow if you wanna start with me."
Mellencamp expressed her frustration with her doctor not allowing her to go on GLP-1s.
"Let me live, You tell me to live my best life, but I don't even get… Live your best life? Where are my GLP-1s?" she said.
Judge said that she believed Mellencamp's doctor refusing to prescribe her GLP-1 medication is a sign they believe she will make a full recovery.
I think maybe someone's lying," she said. "I don't think you're dying. Because [if you were dying,] he would've said, 'Oh, if that's what you want, sure! Take that, go do some coke, go snort whatever you want!'"
Mellencamp was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022. In March 2025, she announced that the cancer had metastasized to her brain and lungs.
Last month, Mellencamp presented her father, John Mellencamp, with the Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. She took the time to express how her father has supported her throughout her cancer battle.
"He stepped up, took control, fought for me, and pretty much changed my life, saved my life," she said while presenting him with the award.
‘Happy Days’ Star Has One Problem With the ‘Bronze Fonz’ Statue Honoring His Iconic Character
Henry Winkler appeared on the April 22 episode of TODAY to promote his show, Hazardous History with Henry Winkler. While speaking with the hosts, Sheinelle Jones and Willie Geist, he mentioned his recent visit to the Bronze Fonz statue that is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He last visited the monument on his 80th birthday in October 2025.
"You know what pisses me off? He’s taller," Winkler, who is five-foot-six joked. "He’s taller than I am. I don’t look him in the eye."
The statue pays tribute to his iconic Happy Days character, Fonzie, with his classic black leather jacket and white t-shirt. The show ran from 1974 to 1984 and was set in Milwaukee, where the statue is located. It was created by artist Gerald P. Sawyer in 2008 and can be found in the downtown area by the Milwaukee Riverwalk.

"What a thing in your life," Winkler continued during his interview. "People told me I would never achieve, and I have a statue. I mean, c’mon. And a cool one. A tall one."
Winkler also visited the statue in 2016 and posted a photograph to his social media, which captured him smiling with his arm wrapped around the statue. "OH YES I visit when I'm in Milwaukee," he said.

— Henry Winkler (@hwinkler4real) August 9, 2016Many fans have visited the statue over the years as well. As one fan said, “I couldn’t visit Milwaukee without finding the Bronze Fonz, even on a freezing cold day! Growing up with Happy Days made this a must-see for me. The statue is a fun and nostalgic tribute, and the spot overlooking the Milwaukee River is beautiful. It’s the perfect blend of pop culture and local charm. It's worth braving the cold for this iconic photo op!”
Another said, "I visited this statue on a cold night. It’s very strange to think 'I’m lucky to have seen a statue of a fictional character' but I did, and I do. The surround views were nice. The lights reflecting off the water made it even better."
Hazardous History with Henry Winkler, which you can watch on the History Channel, is about reckless moments in American history. Winkler is also starring in Normal with Bob Odenkirk, a film about a small-town sheriff who uncovers a secret while investigating a botched bank robbery. It is in theaters now.

Renee Zellweger’s Boyfriend Ant Anstead Celebrates Their 5th Anniversary With Photo of When They Met
Renee Zellwegeris receiving glowing praise from her boyfriend, Ant Anstead, on their fifth anniversary, and he's got the photographic evidence to prove it.
Zellweger, 56, who scored her first gigs with bit parts in films like Dazed and Confused and Reality Bites, went on to become a film legend with starring roles in projects like Jerry Maguire, Bridget Jones's Diary, Chicago, and Judy. But in the present day, the Oscar winner, who does her best to fly below the radar and avoid lots of press social media, makes occasional cameos on the account of her boyfriend, Anstead, 47.
In honor of the duo's fifth anniversary, Anstead took to Instagram to share a throwback photo that took them back to where it all began: an episode of Celebrity IOU: Joyride in 2021, when the duo first met on his discovery+ show.
"How it started….. Happy FIVE YEAR anniversary my beautiful lady! Hands down The best human I know! Luckiest boy! I love you my Ren 💫❤️ x," Anstead captioned the photo, which showed Zellweger wearing a flannel shirt and jeans and toting a tool as she works alongside Anstead, a seasoned car builder.

View this post on Instagram1986 Tearjerker Originally Written As a Christmas Song Became a Movie Classic
Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” is forever tied to Pretty Woman. But before it became one of the most iconic movie songs of all time (and the band’s greatest song of all time), the emotional ballad had a very different origin: It was actually a Christmas song.
In a TikTok posted to the official page of the Swedish pop-rock group, guitarist Per Gessle reveals the surprising backstory.
@roxetteofficialWe couldn't have imagined that “christmas song” would end up as our biggest hit! 🥳 #roxette #itmusthavebeenlove
♬ It Must Have Been Love (From the Film "Pretty Woman") - Roxette“It was a request from a record label in Germany who couldn't get Roxette on the radio in Germany,” he shares. “So they suggested that I should write a Christmas song, which I did.”
Originally titled “It Must Have Been Love (Christmas for the Broken-Hearted),” the song was reworked for the big screen when Hollywood came calling.
Fresh off the global success of their Look Sharp!album — which produced hits like “The Look” and “Listen to Your Heart” — the band was approached to contribute music to a new romantic comedy starring Richard Gere and “new girl calledJulia Roberts.”
Rather than write something new, Gessle suggested revisiting their holiday tune waiting in the wings. The lyrics were adjusted, seasonal references removed, and the rest is sweeping ballad history.
“Before we knew it, the movie was huge,” Gessle says. “So, of course, this song was a big, big song for us.”
The gamble paid off. “It Must Have Been Love” climbed the Billboard Hot 100, hitting No. 1 on June 16, 1990. Marking their third U.S. No. 1 hit, it stayed at the top spot for two weeks, thanks to the film’s May 1990 release, and became one of the defining songs of the decade.
Pretty Woman, a modern take on the star-crossed lovers story, stars Gere as a wealthy executive who hires a sex worker, played by Roberts, to spend a week with him — only to fall for her. Roxette’s hit underscore the characters’ farewell, as say their goodbyes — and, ahem, settle their bill — both left alone before the grandeur storybook ending, of course.
What began as a little-known Christmas tearjerker ultimately became a global hit and one of the most recognizable movie songs ever recorded. What a gift.

If You Have One of These $1 Bills in Your Wallet, You May Actually Be up to $10,000 Richer
Many people already know that you can turn your loose change into big money when you stumble across rare coins. But did you know that some paper money can also be worth more than its face value?
That's because factors like outdated portraits, the size of the bill, and limited printings can change the value of a dollar...sometimes by thousands. Are you sitting on any of these valuable dollar bills? Keep reading to find out which bucks are worth a boatload, and how to tell if you have one in your wallet.
1869 $1 United States Note - Valued at $2,500According to Coin Week, it's next to impossible to miss the 1869 $1 United States Notes in your wallet, since it looks quite different from today's modern dollar bill. In fact, it features multiple colors, including blue, red, and green, earning it the nickname, "Rainbow Notes."
This is also the first time George Washington has appeared on the U.S. dollar, since Salmon P. Chase was originally featured on the dollar bill.
1875 $1 National Bank Note - Valued at $3,000Another hard-to-miss dollar bill, this one from 1875, featured two women standing before an altar. But what really sets these bills apart is that some were printed by private banknote companies, according to the Grey Sheet, and may actually bear information about the city and state where they were minted.
Finding one of these could earn you $3,000, depending on the condition of the dollar bill.
Related: If You Have Any of These Rare Quarters, You Could Be As Much As $143,750 Richer
1878 $1 Silver Certificates - Valued at $4,500Silver Certificates are slightly different than the traditional dollars. While they were issued as part of the country's paper currency from 1878 to 1964, they featured a portrait of William Marcy.
Today, these certificates are very rare, and depending on the denomination, they can be worth anywhere from $33.75 to hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to Bullion Shark.
1862 $1 United States Note - Valued at $7,000Do you have a $7,000 bill hiding in your sofa cushions? Chances are you do not, unless of course you have the 1862 $1 United States Note. This bill is remarkable because it was minted during the first year the U.S. Treasury Seal appeared on our currency, according to El Diario 24.
While you can tell this bill apart from others because Chase is once again featured on it instead of Washington, it also includes a line explaining exactly how you can spend the dollar. For example, using it for private and public debts was allowed, but you couldn't spend this type of money on interest on public debts or to pay duties on imports.

1874 $1 United States Note - Valued at $10,000Now for the big winner. If you have this 1874 $1 United States Note, you may be sitting on a figurative goldmine. That's because the Grey Sheet says that, depending on condition, this bill can be sold for between $ 80 and $ 120,000, though the high end is extremely rare, and most people are looking at more like $10,000 for mint-condition bills.
This bill went through just four printings, according to the website, with the first starting in 1874 and the last taking place in 1923. So, how can you tell if you have one of these at home? Again, the bill looks quite different, with a lot more color than modern dollars are printed with. But, it also features another note about exactly how you can spend this bit of cash, including "This note is a legal tender for all debts, public and private, except duties on imports and interest on the public debt, and is exchangeable for U.S. six per cent twenty-year bonds, redeemable at the pleasure of the United States after five years."

This 'Days of Our Lives' Star Reveals the Legendary Actor He Studied to Prepare for His Salem Debut
Days of Our Lives has introduced a new Chad DiMera, with actor Conner Floyd stepping into the role following Billy Flynn’s exit. Floyd is now sharing how he prepared to take on the legacy character.
In a recent interview with Soaps.com reporter Curtis Harding, Floyd discussed his transition from The Young and the Restless to Days of Our Lives and teased what viewers can expect from his version of Chad.
During the interview, Floyd said he revisited classic episodes to prepare for the role, explaining, “I went back and I watched a lot of Stefano,” referencing the late Joseph Mascolo, who originated the iconic DiMera patriarch back in 1981.
Floyd also studied the work of his predecessor, Billy Flynn, who previously portrayed Chad DiMera.
However, the actor emphasized that Mascolo’s performance were especially influential, adding, “I went back to the roots. I really wanted to watch Joe and see what he was doing because Stefano was brought up in just about every script that I read.”
He added that revisiting those scenes helped him better understand the DiMera legacy, noting “He’s had such an impact on everyone in Salem.”
Floyd debuted as Chad on April 21, 2026, following Flynn’s departure in February.
On-Screen, Chad recently returned to Salem ahead of the reading of Stefano’s will, arriving with his children, Thomas and Charlotte. He quickly crossed paths with Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), as well as his brother E.J. DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien).
In a previous interview, Floyd said he envisions his version of Chad as the anti-Stefano, aiming to be a more grounded and positive role model for his children.
Prior to joining Days of Our Lives, Floyd appeared on The Young and the Restless in the role of Chance Chancelor, but has a larger body of work with credits including Theirbnb, Unsubscribe, Nowher Alaska, Malicious Motives, and Stolen in Her Sleep, to name a few.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays exclusively on Peacock.
A Major Airline May Have Sold Your Personal Data To Set Airfares
Booking a flight often feels like a small game of timing and luck. Prices change hourly, travel blogs insist you should book on Tuesdays, and sometimes refreshing a page makes the fare jump unexpectedly. Most travelers assume those changes come from demand, seat availability, or the airline’s complex pricing algorithms. But a new lawsuit against JetBlue has sparked a different concern. What if airfare is not just based on demand but also on your personal data?
The case has ignited a debate over “surveillance pricing,” a controversial practice in which companies use personal information, such as browsing history or location, to adjust the price each individual sees.
Stay in the loop with fresh travel stories and updates—subscribe to our newsletter.
The JetBlue Lawsuit and the Allegation of “Surveillance Pricing”In April 2026, a proposed class action lawsuit was filed in federal court in Brooklyn, accusing JetBlue of collecting passengers’ personal data and using it to influence ticket prices. The complaint alleges that the airline used digital trackers and shared data with third parties to help determine when and how fares should increase.
The plaintiff, Andrew Phillips, argued that travelers should not have to sacrifice their privacy simply to buy a plane ticket. In the complaint, he wrote that consumers should not have to have their privacy rights violated to participate in the “digital rat race for airline tickets", according to Reuters.
According to the lawsuit, JetBlue allegedly tracked personal information during the booking process and used that information to adjust ticket prices in real time without customers’ consent. JetBlue has denied the allegations.
The airline says fares are determined by standard airline factors such as seat inventory and demand rather than personal data. Still, the lawsuit has sparked attention from lawmakers and consumer advocates who want airlines to explain exactly how pricing algorithms work.
Related: Heads Up—JetBlue Is Updating Its Boarding Process Too
The Social Media Post That Triggered the ControversyA traveler posted on social media complaining that the price of a JetBlue ticket had increased by about $230 in just one day while he was trying to book a flight. The user posted, “I love flying @JetBlue, but a $230 increase on a ticket after one day is crazy. I’m just trying to make it to a funeral.” JetBlue replied, “Try clearing your cache and cookies or booking with an incognito window. We’re sorry for your loss.”
That message raised immediate suspicions. If clearing cookies could lower a price, critics wondered whether airlines might be adjusting fares based on browsing data. JetBlue later deleted the post and said the response was an employee error. The company reiterated that prices are not determined by cached data or other personal information.

Why Data-Driven Pricing Is a Problem for TravelersTraditional airline pricing is already dynamic. Prices rise and fall based on demand, seat availability, and timing. But surveillance pricing takes that concept further by potentially adjusting prices based on who you are rather than simply how many seats remain. In theory, companies could use personal data such as location, income estimates, device type, or browsing habits to predict what someone is willing to pay.
If that happens, two travelers searching for the same flight at the same moment could see completely different fares. Lawmakers have already begun asking airlines to clarify how they use consumer data in pricing models, reflecting broader concern about algorithm-driven markets, according to Reuters.

Practical Ways Travelers Can Protect Their Flight Search PrivacyWhile the lawsuit is still unfolding, there are a few simple strategies travelers can use to limit digital tracking and keep airfare searches as neutral as possible.
Here are some things I do when I look for flights:
- Using private or incognito browsing mode when searching for flights
- Clearing browser cookies and cached data before repeating a search
- Comparing prices across multiple booking sites instead of relying on one platform
- Using a VPN to check whether fares differ by location
- Signing up for price alert tools instead of repeatedly refreshing the same search
- Reviewing privacy settings on travel websites and apps
Experts say these steps may not completely eliminate dynamic pricing systems, but they can reduce the amount of personal data attached to your searches. For travelers who love the process of finding a great airfare deal, a little digital awareness can go a long way.
Walmart’s $179 Gazebo Is 'Sturdy' and 'Easy to Assemble' — Perfect for Backyard Summer Hangouts
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
If you’re looking to upgrade your summer setup, a gazebo is one of the simplest ways to make your patio or backyard more comfortable and usable. Instead of battling harsh sun, insects, or a lack of privacy, a gazebo gives you a space to enjoy being outside more comfortably.
Right now, the Abc Canopy Patio Gazebo is on sale for $179 at Walmart, marked down from its original price of $230. It’s an all-in-one outdoor shelter designed for everything from backyard BBQs and poolside lounging to shaded seating and casual get-togethers. It also works well for larger occasions like parties and garden weddings. The gazebo comes in six colors: khaki, dark gray, rust red, forest green, navy blue, and black.
Abc Canopy Patio Gazebo, $179 (was $230) at Walmart Shop at WalmartMade from weather-resistant polyester, this gazebo offers UPF 50+ sun protection and is built with fire-resistant materials for added outdoor safety. It comes in three size options — 9 by 9, 10 by 12, and 11 by 11 feet — so you can pick the best fit for your patio or backyard setup. The smallest size provides about 81 square feet of coverage and comfortably seats six to eight people, with room for a dining set, lounge chairs, or a compact grill station.
The structure is supported by a sturdy two-section steel frame. It also has extended eaves that provide more shade at the perimeter. One of its standout features is that it comes with mesh netting around it to help keep bugs out, plus give you more privacy. Tourists Ruin Historical Fountain in Italy as a Pre-Wedding Dare, and This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things
Travel has a strange relationship with history. We travel thousands of miles to admire ancient sculptures, Renaissance fountains, and centuries-old plazas. Yet every so often, someone treats those same monuments like props for a prank.
That tension played out recently in Florence when a tourist climbed a historic fountain as part of a pre-wedding dare. What seemed like a quick joke among friends turned into thousands of euros in damage and another reminder that fragile landmarks and viral travel culture do not always mix well.

Tourist Damages Florence’s Historic Neptune Fountain During Pre-Wedding DareThe incident took place in Piazza della Signoria in Florence, where the famous Fountain of Neptune has stood since the 16th century. According to city officials, a 28-year-old tourist climbed onto the monument during a pre-wedding celebration after friends dared her to touch the statue’s genitals.
Authorities said the stunt caused about €5,000 in damage to the sculpture, including damage to the marble horses' legs and a decorative frieze that the tourist grabbed while climbing. The fountain itself is not just a piece of decoration. It was commissioned in 1559 by Cosimo I de’ Medici and sculpted by Bartolomeo Ammannati as a symbol of Florence’s political and maritime power. Police quickly removed the visitor from the monument and reported her for defacing an artistic and architectural asset, a charge under Italian cultural heritage laws.

This Is Not the First Time Tourists Have Damaged Italian MonumentsUnfortunately, Florence’s Neptune fountain has been the stage for similar incidents before. Authorities installed surveillance cameras after earlier visitors climbed the statue and damaged it, including one case where a tourist broke part of Neptune’s hand. In 2023, another tourist climbed the monument while friends took photos, causing damage again, according to KESQ.
Florence is not alone. Across Italy, authorities have dealt with a string of cases involving tourists damaging artwork or monuments while attempting to take photos or social media challenges. One striking example occurred at a museum in Verona when a visitor sat on an art installation inspired by Van Gogh’s famous chair, causing the crystal-covered piece to collapse.
And in another bizarre case reported in Florence, a partygoer climbed a historic Neptune statue during a celebration stunt, causing thousands of euros in damage to the Renaissance artwork. Even iconic landmarks like Rome’s Trevi Fountain deal with constant rule-breaking, from visitors entering the fountain to climbing on sculptures.

Why Cities Across Italy Are Creating Stricter Tourist LawsRome recently introduced a small access fee for the Trevi Fountain area during peak hours to help manage crowds and fund the monument's maintenance. Meanwhile, many Italian cities now issue fines for sitting, eating, or climbing on monuments. In some places, defacing a monument or entering a historic fountain can lead to fines of around €2,000 or even a temporary ban from the city center.
These policies are partly a response to over-tourism. Popular Italian cities attract millions of visitors every year, and the pressure on historic infrastructure has grown dramatically. Venice, for example, has introduced tourist entry fees and additional regulations to help control visitor numbers and reduce strain on its historic environment. At first glance, these rules can feel strict. But when you consider that many of these monuments are 400 or 500 years old, the reasoning becomes clearer.

What Responsible Travelers Should RememberFor most travelers, historic cities inspire awe. Standing in a Renaissance plaza or beside an ancient fountain reminds you how much history has passed through those streets. Yet those places survive only if visitors treat them with care.
Travel works best when curiosity is paired with respect. Admire the sculptures. Take the photos. Toss a coin in the fountain if tradition allows. Just maybe skip the bachelor party dares.

1991 No.1 Power Ballad Lands Among 'Top Movie Songs of All Time'
The tale of Robin Hood has been told many times over the years in Hollywood, from action adventures, animated films, spoof comedies, and many more. In 1991, the theme song and title track for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves gained critical and chart-topping acclaim, earning it an Oscar nomination and recognition as one of the best movie songs.
Director Kevin Reynolds and writers Pen Densham and John Watson developed the movie loosely based on the English folk tale of Robin Hood, set in the 12th century.Kevin Costner played the iconic role of Robin of Locksley alongside Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, andAlan Rickman.
Robin of Locksley is a nobleman who returns home to England after the Crusades with the help of Azeem (Freeman), a Moorish warrior. He returns home to discover his father was murdered, and the land is under the ruthless control of the Sheriff of Nottingham (Rickman). Forced into hiding, he bands together a group of outlaws to fight against Nottingham's reign and to steal from the rich to give to the poor. Along the way, he begins to fall for Maid Marian (Mastrantonio).
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was a box office success and became the second-highest grossing film of that year with over $390 million at the box office. Rickman won a BAFTA for Supporting Actor, with the title theme song, "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You", nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars, and winning a Grammy for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television.

"(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" was a track by Canadian singer Bryan Adams, written by him alongside Michael Kamen and Robert John "Mutt" Lange. Tagged as a power ballad, it was the lead single for the film's soundtrack. It was reportedly written within 45 minutes and inspired the movie's other title theme, "Maid Marian," and its overall love story.
The track became a success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 1 for seven consecutive weeks. It was an impressive feat at the time, having been the longest No. 1 track since 1983. It also topped Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts for eight weeks. Billboard ranked the track at No.2 as one of the best movie songs under "Endless Love" by Diana RossandLionel Richie.
"(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" was also nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year in 1992, and lost the Oscar to "Beauty and the Beast" that same year. The track has since been covered by multiple artists, such as Brandy for her second studio album.
Charlotte Rae Shared the Touching Reason She Loved Being on ‘The Facts of Life’ 2 Years Before Her Death
Charlotte Rae, who played Edna Garrett on The Facts of Life, opened up about her favorite part of being on the iconic series just two years before her death.
Rae, who died at 92 in 2018, first played Edna Garrett on Diff’rent Strokes in 1978 before scoring her own spinoff, The Facts of Life, which she starred on from 1979 to 1986. The beloved series chronicled the ups and downs of the all-girls Eastland School and starred Rae alongside Nancy McKeon, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, and Lisa Whelchel. A staple of the decade, the show continued after Rae finished her run, but many fans consider those to be the best years.
In a revealing interview before her death, Rae opened up about what she loved most about appearing on the series.
"At the book signings, a lot of grown-ups were saying that they were latch-key kids and they really related to Mrs. Garrett," Rae said during an interview with the Television Academy Foundation. "She was who they really hung on to and clung to and loved. [She was] the mother that they wish that they had around and being there and all that. And so that makes me happy that I served some service."
Where is Nancy McKeon These Days?Nancy McKeon skyrocketed to fame on the series as tough-talking Jo Polniaczek, and she recently celebrated her 60th birthday. The beloved ’80s actress, who rose to international stardom as Jo, a student who transferred to the all-girls Eastland School, became a frequent face in TV movies. When the aughts hit, she starred for several years on the police series The Division. In 2018, she took a spin on the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars.
Kari Michaelsen, who starred on another classic ’80s sitcom, Gimme a Break, took to Instagram to honor McKeon with a fun birthday post that featured a variety of hilarious throwback photos from the ’80s. If you’re a fan of wild hairdos that likely included lots of hairspray, this might be a fun one to browse.
“Please join me to wish Nancy McKeon a VERY “Happy Birthday” 🎈Nancy, SO many Fun Memories that I cherish!! 😊😊 Have a wonderful Birthday Celebration tomorrow!! XOXO 💖🎉💖,” Michaelsen captioned the reel, which showed the duo hanging out with other ’80s stars, like Family Ties actress Justine Bateman.

America’s ‘Most Reliable’ Airline Is About To Fold— Is Buying Their Ultra-Cheap Tickets Worth the Risk?
For years, Spirit Airlines built its reputation on one simple promise: rock-bottom fares that made flying accessible to nearly anyone. But now, that same ultra-low-cost model is under extreme pressure. The airline is navigating bankruptcy proceedings, facing mounting operational losses, and has even paused ticket sales beyond April 2026 due to uncertainty about its future. In practical terms, Spirit’s survival is no longer something travelers can assume.
So the big question for budget travelers becomes unavoidable: Are those ultra-cheap tickets still worth buying?
Related: The Most Reliable Airline Amid All This Travel Chaos Might Surprise You
Unbeatable Upfront PricesThere’s no denying Spirit’s main draw: price. On many domestic routes, it can still be significantly cheaper than legacy carriers like Delta, American, or United. For short weekend trips or flexible travel plans, those savings can feel like a win, especially for families or travelers on tight budgets.
But the real issue is that Spirit’s low fares are only “cheap” on the surface. Once you add carry-on bags, seat selection, and checked luggage, the total cost can quickly approach, or even match, traditional airlines. The difference is that legacy carriers tend to include more of those basics in the ticket price.
The Growing Risks Behind the Discount FareWhat makes the current situation different is stability. Spirit is operating under bankruptcy protection, has undergone repeated financial restructuring, and is facing major external shocks such as rising fuel costs and operational constraints. Industry analysis suggests that continued volatility in fuel prices could severely undermine its recovery plan, pushing the airline closer to shrinking operations or even liquidation.
That creates several real risks for travelers:
- Flight cancellations or schedule changes: Airlines in financial distress often reduce routes or consolidate schedules. That means your flight might be canceled, rescheduled, or moved to inconvenient times.
- Limited rebooking options: Unlike major airlines with large fleets and partner networks, Spirit has fewer backup flights. If something goes wrong, recovery options are limited.
- Refund uncertainty during disruption: While U.S. regulations generally require refunds for canceled flights, the timing and ease of getting that money back can vary, and during bankruptcy proceedings, delays are common.
- Future availability concerns: With booking windows already cut off beyond April 2026, travelers planning farther out are essentially gambling on the airline’s continued existence.
Related: Spirit Airlines Is Surviving Second Bankruptcy — But There’s A Catch
Uncertainty ItselfEven if Spirit continues operating in the short term, perception matters. When travelers start doubting an airline’s survival, demand drops. That creates a feedback loop: fewer bookings lead to greater financial pressure, which in turn leads to more cancellations and instability.
This “confidence problem” is often what pushes struggling airlines from recovery into collapse faster than financial issues alone.
Are The Savings Still Worth It?The answer depends on how flexible your trip is.
Spirit can still make sense if:
- You’re flying soon (within the current confirmed schedule window)
- You can tolerate schedule changes
- You are not booking tight connections or non-refundable plans around the flight
- The price difference is substantial enough to justify the risk
But Spirit becomes a poor choice if:
- Your trip is important (weddings, cruises, international connections)
- You’re booking months in advance
- You need reliability or backup options
- The price gap is small after baggage and fees
In those cases, the “cheap ticket” may not actually be cheap when you factor in risk.
Smart Alternatives For Budget TravelersFortunately, Spirit is not the only low-cost option. Depending on your route, alternatives include:
- Frontier Airlines: similar ultra-low-cost model but slightly different route network
- Southwest Airlines: often higher base fare but includes bags and better flexibility
- Legacy carriers (Delta, American, United): sometimes match Spirit pricing during sales, with far better reliability
- Fare comparison tools: aggregators like Google Flights can reveal when Spirit’s “deal” isn’t really the cheapest once fees are included
Spirit Airlines is no longer just a bargain carrier; it’s a risk-priced carrier. The fare might be low, but the uncertainty is higher than ever.
For travelers who can absorb disruption, the savings may still be worth it. But for anyone who needs certainty, peace of mind is becoming the real premium product in air travel.
Keep the Trust Fund: The Real Nepo Baby Fortune is Hidden in Your Makeup Bag
While the internet stays busy arguing over which star deserves a movie role, the children of A-listers have staged a retail coup. In 2026, the inheritance doesn’t stop with a house in the hills, it's evolved into a a pre-built distribution empire that ends up in your bathroom cabinet.
A March report just dropped the receipts on the nepo baby economy. The numbers reveal more than the gifting of free clothes or a one-off perfume deal. It’s become a multi-billion dollar corporate monopoly.
Kylie Jenner is the undisputed queen of the inheritance-to-inventory pipeline. Her brand, Kylie Cosmetics, is on track to pull in $400M in revenue this year. Because she has 34.4 million followers watching her every move, she doesn't have to pay for a single billboard. Her sisterKendall is doing the same thing in the liquor aisle. 818 Tequila raked in $50M last year. They’ve figured out the cheat code: why waste time auditioning for a director when you can have your very own supply chain?
Hailey Bieber is proving that having a famous maiden name and a famous married name is the best business hack. Rhode Skin cleared $212M in 2025 and its only been around since 2022. That is a vertical climb that makes seasoned CEOs look like they’re standing still.
Cashmere, Hot Sauce, and the Hadid SistersThe list of heirs-turned-owners is getting crowded:
- Gigi Hadid: Making cashmere a power move with Guest In Residence ($30M).
- Bella Hadid: Playing the long game with Kin Euphorics ($11M) and her new fragrance line, Orebella, which is already sniffing out half a million in revenue after just one year.
- Brooklyn Beckham: Turning a kitchen hobby into a $3M win with Cloud23 Hot Sauce.
- Jaden Smith: Hydrating the masses with JUST Water ($9.4M).
“Ten years ago, a famous last name mostly opened doors in entertainment. Now it gives a product millions of Instagram followers before it even exists, and those followers are a distribution channel,” CEO of Overnight Glasses (the company that commissioned the study) Gidon Sadovsky said in a statement. The term 'nepo baby' exploded in 2022, the same period when celebrity-founded consumer brands started growing at an unprecedented rate. Kylie Jenner's social media followers aren't just a vanity metric. They're the entire go-to-market strategy, without the ad spend.”
Whether it’s Patrick Schwarzenegger’s MOSH Protein ($12M) or Georgia May Jagger’s Bleach London ($15M), the trend is the same. Fame (and the proximity to it) is the only currency that matters, and the exchange rate is better than it has ever been.
Breyers and Good Humor Turn Nostalgic Ice Cream Bar Favorites Into 2 New Pint Flavors
Breyers or Good Humor? It doesn't matter which brand you pledge your loyalty to in this new collaboration.
The popular ice cream and frozen treat companies have each earned the respect of consumers for over 100 years, and if that doesn't say it all, their expansive lineup of innovations and the fact that some fans are still distraught over items that were discontinued years ago just might (RIP Good Humor's Toasted Almond Bar).
And now the two brands are joining forces to launch two new pint-sized frozen dairy desserts inspired by popular Good Humor products: its Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Bars and Creamsicle ice cream bars.
Breyers and Good Humor Collab Gets Fans Pints of 2 Nostalgic FlavorsDebuting as part of the partnership between Breyers and Good Humor that aims to give consumers new and exciting ways to enjoy their favorite sweet treats are the all-new Breyers Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake and Breyers Creamsicle Pint. The new collection also includes an Almond Joy-inspired pint, which Parade previously reported on earlier this week.

- Breyers Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake: The Strawberry Shortcake bars (and now tubs!) everyone loves, now in the convenience of a pint! Breyers calls it the "perfect combination of classic Breyers and America’s favorite Strawberry Shortcake bar in one." It's got vibrant strawberry swirls in a creamy vanilla frozen dessert, plus the signature Good Humor cake crumbles.
- Breyers Creamsicle Pint: Breyers said this takes the brand's vibrant citrus sherbert and swirls it into its creamy vanilla frozen dairy dessert to recreate the iconic Creamsicle flavor. The company promises this pint is "as refreshing as it is delicious, and as nostalgic as it is on trend!"
So far, fans' only critique is that they wish the treats were real ice cream rather than the controversial frozen dairy dessert, which many consider inferior and rate as less creamy than ice cream. The phenomenon is likely due to frozen dairy desserts containing less milkfat than standard ice cream and often substituting traditional ingredients with vegetable oils and other emulsifiers.
Where Will Breyers' Good Humor-Flavored Pints Be Sold? The new Strawberry Shortcake and Creamsicle-flavored pints are now available at convenience stores nationwide—including 7-Eleven—with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $4.49, according to an official statement shared with Parade.
