Tedde Moore, an actress who is best known for playing Ralphie Parker’s teacher in A Christmas Story, has died at the age of 79.

A post on her Facebook page revealed the news, but no cause of death was provided.

“On Wednesday, August 5th, under sunny skies overlooking Fairy Lake, Tedde passed away surrounded by family physically and spiritually in her beloved Huntsville Muskoka,” the post reads. “Her bravery in this choice was almost overwhelming, beyond beautiful and also difficult. Forever the teacher, she had a quote for every occasion and a special way of touching the lives and hearts of everyone she met. Her magic and love will be remembered by all she took under her generous and welcoming wings.”

In the 1983 film where she played Miss Shields, Moore's memorable moment is when she gave Ralphie a bad grade on his paper about what he wanted for Christmas, as well as dealing with Flick, who was played by Scott Schwartz, getting his tongue stuck on a cold flagpole. For her work in the movie, she was nominated for a Genie Award, presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, for best performance by an actress in a supporting role. Moore reprised her role in 1994’s My Summer Story.

Along with this appearance, she also was in Friday the 13th: The Series, RoboCop: Prime Directives, Odyssey 5 and This Is Wonderland, along with playing Mrs. Claus in the 2011 TV movie Mistletoe Over Manhattan and Nanny Shaw in the miniseries The Kennedys. Her final acting job was in 2017 for the TV movie Magical Christmas Ornaments.

She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009.

Following the news, fans paid tribute to the actress.

"Ralphie's teacher is embedded in millions of people's holiday memories now—that's the legacy that actually compounds. She moved once and it echoed forever. That's immortality," one person wrote.

"Very sad to hear that Tedde Moore, who played Miss Shields in A Christmas Story, one of my favorite movies, passed away this past Wednesday. R.I.P., Tedde," another person posted.

When Elvis Costello and The Attractions appeared on Saturday Night Live on December 17, 1977, they pushed the envelope of live television when they changed the song they were supposed to sing live on the air. Booked as a last-minute replacement for the Sex Pistols, Costello was scheduled to perform “Watching the Detectives” and “Less Than Zero,” his debut UK single. Costello channeled his punk rock roots and pivoted to a different song while on air. What happened next was pure chaos and one of the best live musical performances in Saturday Night Live history.

When the Sex Pistols were unable to appear on Saturday Night Live due to visa problems, Elvis Costello was brought in at the last minute to be the show’s musical guest. Scheduled to perform two hits, Costello wasn’t enthusiastic about performing “Less Than Zero” for the American television audience.

The song was about British fascist Oswald Mosley, a public figure Costello felt would be unfamiliar to most American viewers. He also considered the song too low-key for the late-night sketch show, which he viewed as a major opportunity to introduce his band to American audiences. His record label, however, had other plans and wanted him to perform the song.

Why Elvis Costello Changed the Song

Costello and The Attractions began playing “Less Than Zero” as planned, but a few bars in, the singer abruptly stopped the band, telling the audience there was no reason to perform the song before launching into an energetic version of “Radio Radio” instead. The switch hadn’t been cleared with SNL producers and was completely unexpected.

“Radio Radio” was a particularly pointed choice, based more on the singer’s own frustration toward his record company than toward NBC. “Radio Radio” is a song critical of the commercialization and corporate control of radio broadcasting, making Costello’s choice to perform it live on air seem like a pointed dig at the very system he was appearing on.

Costello has since explained that the stunt was inspired by Jimi Hendrix, who famously abandoned a planned song during a 1969 BBC performance and switched to another song.

How SNL Reacted to Elvis Costello’s Stunt

The response from viewers and SNL producers varied greatly.

SNL producer Lorne Michaels was reportedly so furious with Costello’s stunt that he gave Costello the middle finger for the duration of the performance. Costello has since acknowledged the story, which has become Hollywood lore, but has yet to confirm exactly what happened between himself and SNL producers that night.

For viewers, however, Costello’s live stunt became the stuff of legend. Costello’s act of taking a highly controlled television appearance and turning it into something that felt spontaneous, dangerous and completely unplanned made him, and the performance, iconic to fans.

Elvis Costello did not return to SNL for 12 years. The famous version of the story is that Costello was banned following the incident.

Lorne Michaels himself debunked the rumor that Costello had been banned in the 2025 documentary Ladies & Gentleman... 50 Years of SNL Music, describing the show as too opportunistic to permanently exclude popular performers.

More than two decades later, Costello recreated the moment, creating the perfect opportunity to make fun of the entire incident.

During SNL’s 25th anniversary special in 1999, the Beastie Boys were performing their hit song “Sabotage” when Costello interrupted them. Using the same language he had when he halted his own song in 1977, Costello recreated the gag and switched the Beastie Boys into “Radio Radio.”

The moment transformed what had once been an act of rebellion into an inside joke about SNL history.

Elvis Costello’s on-air stunt demonstrated the impact an unscripted moment could have on a show built around the immediacy of live television. The episode also served as an early example of SNL’s relationship to popular music, one in which artists could use the show to make a cultural statement rather than simply promote a record.

Sinéad O’Connor, Devo and Kanye West would all go on to pull their own stunts while performing on SNL, but Costello’s unplanned and improvised moment will go down in the show’s history as an iconic act of rebellion and is widely considered one of the greatest SNL musical performances of all time.

Ella Langley gave a classic country song a new life, more than five decades after Freddy Fender made it a major hit.

The Alabama country star recently shared a stripped-down acoustic cover of Fender’s “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights,” and the performance quickly caught the attention of fans. The song, first written and recorded by Fender in 1959, became a major country and pop hit again in 1975 after he re-recorded it.

Langley’s version keeps the song simple. Instead of trying to copy Fender’s recording, she performs it with an acoustic sound that puts the focus on the song and its story.

The cover comes during a major year for Langley. In May 2026, she won all seven ACM Awards for which she was nominated, setting a new record for the most ACM Awards won in one night. Her wins included Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year for “Choosin’ Texas,” Single of the Year for “Choosin’ Texas,” Music Event of the Year for “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Riley Green and Female Artist of the Year.

Her current success also gives the classic cover a bigger spotlight. “Choosin’ Texas” has become a major hit, while Langley continues to show that older country songs remain an important part of her musical style.

“Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” has a long history before reaching Langley’s audience.

Fender wrote the song as a blues ballad in 1959. At the time, he was developing a sound that brought together rockabilly and Tejano music. The song also carried the influence of swamp pop, a style connected to southern Louisiana and southeast Texas.

Fender also recorded a Spanish-language version called “Noches y días perdidos.”

The song later received another version from the Texas-based Sir Douglas Quintet in 1971. But its biggest chart moment came after Fender’s career was revived by the success of “Before the Next Teardrop Falls.”

Fender re-recorded “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” in 1975 with producer Huey P. Meaux. The new version became a major crossover success.

According to Billboard chart information provided in the source material, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 21, 1975. It reached No. 8 on the Hot 100 on September 27, 1975, and stayed on the chart for 19 weeks.

The song also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

That made “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” more than a country hit. It crossed into the pop world while keeping the musical style that had helped define Fender’s career.

The recording eventually became a million-selling single and was certified gold. The song was also a major success outside the United States, including a 12-week run at No. 1 on the New Zealand singles chart in 1975.

In 2012, “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The song has continued to appear in different forms over the years.

Fender recorded another version in the 1980s with added synthesizers and a gated snare drum. In the early 1990s, he recorded it again as a member of the Texas Tornados. That version later appeared on the soundtrack for the 1993 film The Beverly Hillbillies.

Other artists have also taken on the song. According to the song’s history, Charley Crockett included a version on his 2016 album In the Night, while LeAnn Rimes recorded it for her 2011 covers album Lady & Gentlemen. Jenni Rivera also covered the song on her 2001 album Déjate Amar.

Langley’s new version adds another chapter to that history.

Her acoustic performance is notably different from Fender’s crossover recording. The cover fits with Langley’s recent work. Her 2026 album Dandelion includes a cover of the country classic “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels,” showing her interest in older country music.

Langley has also used social media to introduce fans to unexpected songs. Earlier in 2026, she shared an acoustic version of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” slowing down the 1987 pop hit and giving it a country feel.

Wasted Days and Wasted Nights

Her “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” cover has received a strong response online. A video of the performance had more than 1.7 million TikTok views and more than 313,000 likes, according to the supplied May 2026 source.

For Freddy Fender, “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” was part of a career that connected country, pop, rockabilly, Tejano, Tex-Mex and swamp pop.

Bobby Bones has officially gotten his Dancing With The Stars Mirrorball Trophy back!

“Look what just came in the mail,” Bones wrote on Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 6, sharing a picture of himself sitting on a couch next to his trophy.

The return of Bones' trophy comes after the season 27 champion initially sent it back to ABC following drama with former host Tom Bergeron over comments Bergeron made about Bones' win during an exclusive interview with Parade. After the pair reconciled, Bones requested that his Mirrorball Trophy be returned to him.

"It'd be nice if I could get my Dancing With the Stars trophy back," Bones said to Us Weekly in an interview published in May. "I got my feelings hurt. I love Tom, and so, in a haste, I sent my trophy back to somewhere at ABC."

In the Parade interview, Bergeron was asked about the most shocking elimination he witnessed during his 28-season tenure on the show. However, he instead offered up Bones and his professional partner Sharna Burgess as the most shocking win.

The result was controversial at the time as Bones was considered one of the weaker dancers that season, and his win ultimately led to the implementation of the “Judge’s Save” from seasons 28-32.

“I try not to get my feelings hurt, especially about stuff like this, but this was hurtful,” Bones said in a November TikTok calling Bergeron out. “And not because of what was said, but really who said it.”

Bones then played a snippet of the comments, noting that he took issue with Bergeron flipping the question just to criticize him.

“It’s funny you’re asking about eliminations,” Bergeron told Parade. “The thing that shocked me most was a win. Bobby Bones.”

“Bobby Bones was the first time it was like, ‘Ouch,’” he continued. “No disrespect to Bobby. He would probably say the same thing.”

Bones continued, “What was I supposed to do on that show? I didn’t even want to be on the show. Like I had no intention of being on Dancing With The Stars. I was working on [American Idol] at the network and they asked me to go on the show to promote. Am I supposed to not show up and work hard? Am I supposed to not give it freaking everything that I have? Am I supposed to throw it and not win? Like it’s crazy the amount of hate I get even from people that I respect like Tom Bergeron.”

The radio personality then made a the shocking reveal that he returned his Mirrorball Trophy back to ABC.

“I sent the trophy back. They don’t want me to be apart of the show, obviously, so I don’t want to be somewhere that doesn’t want me to be there,” he said at the time. “I loved my time there, but I would say things like this…have just taken all the joy away from my time on the show, which is crazy because it was such a great, joyous time even though I was the only one in the whole crew that was dancing that had a full-time job at the same time.”

He concluded, “I’m out. Nobody wants me there anyway, so go where you’re celebrated not tolerated. But yeah, the Bergeron thing hurt a little bit I’m going to be honest with you.”

Shortly after Bones' TikTok went viral, Bergeron apologized to the DJ and posted a screenshot of his message to him via his Instagram Story.

“Bobby, it wasn’t my intention to hurt your feelings. My ‘ouch’ was based on my honest feeling that your win spoke to a need to address the balance between judge and viewer voting,” he wrote. “I always felt bad that you & Sharna had to deal with the aftermath of that win & I certainly regret pouring any salt into that old wound.”

Dancing with the Stars airs returns on Sept. 15. on ABC and Disney+ and streams next day on Hulu.

Guns N’ Roses, the legendary hard rock band fronted by iconic singer Axl Rose, made a thunderous debut with the release of the 1987 rock classic “Welcome to the Jungle.”

Nearly four decades after the track’s release, it continues to reinforce its legendary status as one of the most recognizable songs in rock history, despite never topping the charts.

In Collider’s list, the publication ranked the 10 Greatest Classic Rock Songs that never scored a No. 1 hit.

Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” secured the top spot, followed by The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun,” Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” and Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House.”

Rounding out the top five, Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” is now recognized as a rock staple, far outlasting its chart performance.

The publication emphasized the song’s fierce, raw and powerful energy, accompanied by Axl Rose’s intense vocals and Slash’s iconic guitar work, which made the track even more memorable.

Written by all the members of the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup, featuring Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler and Rose, the song served as the opening track on the band’s most famous album, Appetite for Destruction.

However, the track only peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 17 weeks on the chart, despite its popularity.

“Welcome to the Jungle” was one of the band’s first songs to be written and began taking shape in the basement of Slash’s home.

“I had this riff and I remember playing it for Axl on an acoustic guitar. I said: ‘Check this out,’” he shared in an interview via Louder Sound, referring to the lead singer, who was close to Slash’s family. “It was really the first thing we all collaborated on and it’s really a combination of everybody’s input.”

Moreover, the iconic guitarist revealed that writing “Welcome to the Jungle” was “something that happened spontaneously” and that the song came together naturally.

Over the decades, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s song has continued to add to its legendary status, with the 1987 anthem being named by VH1 as the greatest hard rock song of all time, ranking above AC/DC’s “Back in Black” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”

After a whopping 10 seasons, The Real Housewives of Potomac shows no signs of slowing down.

Bravo revealed the cast for season 11 earlier this year, and the biggest reveal was the full-time return of Karen Huger following her time behind bars for a DUI conviction.

More recently, the "Grande Dame," 63, spoke out in more detail about her prison sentence — more specifically, who she permitted to keep in contact with her while locked away.

Based on her new interview with E! News, Huger allowed only a "few people" — and just one Bravolebrity — to remain close with her during those six months. That network star would be Andy Cohen.

“Andy was one of the few people that I allowed to talk to me inside while I was paying my dues, which I needed to do," Huger told the entertainment news outlet at the recent Real Housewives of Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th premiere. "He was so lovely and so supportive. I adore him. I love him. I am so happy to be a part of his team and his family."

The RHOP star added, "Bravo stood by me when I went through a lot. And I often credit the courage that I had from the training I had as a Housewife to make it through and to get sober and to be clean... “I think everyone deserves a second chance, especially after what I went through,” she reflected. “I'll say that Robin [Dixon] came back this season, and she's amazing. I think a rest can help you get your feet under you and take a second swing.”

The rest of the season 11 cast includes returning Housewives Gizelle Bryant, Wendy Osefo, Ashley Darby, Tia Glover and Stacey Rusch. On the way out are Angel Massie, Keiarna Stewart and Jassi Harris, who will not be returning for the new season.

A 1964 hit by The Kinks has earned a place among the 25 best rock songs of all time, decades after the British band was shut out of touring in the United States during one of the most important periods of its career.

“All Day and All of the Night,” released by The Kinks in 1964, was ranked No. 25 on Entertainment Weekly’s list of the greatest rock songs ever. The ranking, published Friday, praised the song for its raw guitar sound and its lasting influence on rock music.

The song was released during the height of the British Invasion and became a major international hit. It reached No. 2 in the United Kingdom and No. 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1965.

The song’s continued recognition also brings attention to a difficult period in The Kinks’ history. After their 1965 American tour, the band was banned from touring the United States for four years by the American Federation of Musicians (AFM).

The ban did not target “All Day and All of the Night” itself. Instead, the AFM refused to issue permits that would allow The Kinks to perform concerts in the United States. The band and the union never publicly gave one clear official reason for the decision.

“All Day and All of the Night” followed the success of “You Really Got Me,” another major Kinks hit built around a powerful guitar riff.

The 1964 song used a similar power-chord approach, but its sound pushed the band further into loud and aggressive rock. Entertainment Weekly described the track as having a raw, modern sound that still feels striking today.

One important part of that sound came from guitarist Dave Davies. He created a rough guitar tone by cutting the speaker of his amplifier with a razor. The unusual method helped produce the dirty and distorted sound that became closely linked with The Kinks.

The song was written by Ray Davies, who handled lead vocals, while Dave Davies provided lead and rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Pete Quaife played bass, while Mick Avory was credited with tambourine. Additional musicians on the recording included Rasa Didzpetris, Perry Ford, Bobby Graham and Johnny B. Great.

The song appeared on the Kinksize Hits EP in the United Kingdom and on the American album Kinks-Size in 1965.

The success of “All Day and All of the Night” came just before The Kinks' troubled relationship with the American live music industry.

The band was part of the British Invasion and had already scored several U.S. Top 10 hits. However, problems during their 1965 American tour eventually led the American Federation of Musicians to refuse permits for the group to perform in the country.

Accounts of the dispute point to several possible factors, including disagreements with promoters, the band's behavior on tour and a backstage confrontation involving Ray Davies.

One account said a promoter complained after The Kinks played a deliberately short set in Reno and extended a single song through much of their Sacramento performance after promised payments were not made.

Another reported incident involved Ray Davies being confronted backstage by a union worker who allegedly used anti-British insults. Davies reportedly responded by punching the man.

The Kinks had also developed a reputation for on-stage disorder. In May 1965, Dave Davies and Mick Avory became involved in a violent on-stage incident in Cardiff, Wales. Davies kicked over Avory’s drum kit, and Avory struck Davies with a hi-hat stand, leaving Davies unconscious and requiring 16 stitches.

The exact reason for the American ban was never clearly explained by the union. What is known is that the restriction lasted from 1965 until 1969, keeping The Kinks away from American stages during a key period in rock history.

The ban also kept the band from appearing at the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival, an event associated with major performances by artists including Jimi Hendrix and The Who.

According to Ultimate Guitar, Ray Davies later described the situation by saying:

“The reason we got banned was a mixture of bad agency, bad management, bad luck, and bad behavior…. So we deserved everything we got. But it got lifted four years later. We literally signed a confession – it was a confessional. We didn't even read it.”

The ban was lifted in April 1969 after Ray Davies negotiated with the AFM in Los Angeles. The Kinks returned to American stages later that year, opening for Spirit at New York’s Fillmore East in October.

Davies later said the ban had taken away the best years of the band's career, noting that the Woodstock generation had arrived by the time they returned and that The Kinks were almost forgotten in America.

Despite that setback, the band's music endured.

“All Day and All of the Night” remains one of the clearest examples of The Kinks' early hard-rock sound. More than six decades after its release, its jagged guitar riff, aggressive performance and raw production continue to support its reputation as an important 1960s rock recording.

What is Our Sticky Love about?

Our Sticky Love is a romantic comedy/action series that follows Go Eun-sae (Ha Young), an amnesiac prosecutor, and Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in), a boxing coach who claims to be her boyfriend. Why is the series called Our Sticky Love?

A large part of the series takes place in a small rural village called Gujin. The village is also known as "Taffy Village" as many in the community make yeot, a traditional Korean taffy. In the series, taffy is used as a metaphor for "sticking together," where staying by one side is a bond that is sweet, messy, and impossible to separate once tangled together.

Jang Tae-ha initially lies about being Eun-sae's boyfriend in order to protect her and get her out of Seoul where her life would be in danger if it was discovered that she was still alive. Since she was suffering from amnesia, he maintains the lie in order to keep her in the small village of Gujin as well as continuing to keep her safe.

Yes. After spending the first half of the series trying to jog her memory, Eun-sae does recover her memories but only after Tae-ha tries to send her away for her safety.

How and when does Eun-sae regain her memory?

Eun-sae regains her memory in Episode 8 after she is preemptively sent on a boat heading for Japan by Tae-ha. During the episode, Eun-sae has been safely boarded onto a boat by Kaito (Lee Jun-young), an associate of Tae-ha's. As she looks back to shore, she sees Tae-ha fighting with Baek Sang-gil and his crew. Tae-ha starts a fire and the explosion that comes soon after shocks Eun-sae and her memories come flooding back.

The Crime Boss connection: Who is Baek Sang-gil in Our Sticky Love?

Baek Sang-gil (Heo Sung-tae) is a crime boss and the CEO of the Mirae Eden Company. Baek has shady dealings all over town, using his legitimate business as a front for his many corrupt crime deals including many operations with the mayor.

What is the plot twist in Our Sticky Love?

The main plot twist is the story's central arc. Tae-ha is not actually Eun-sae's longtime boyfriend as he claims to be, but instead the gangster sent to finish her off. Additional twists within this arc is that Tae-ha, while the mob's muscle, has a soft heart and an unrequited love for the prosecutor after shared encounters going back to their youth.

The other major twist in the series is that Baek Sang-Gil is actually Tae-ha's biological father. Tae-ha believed his father died before his was born, but it turns out he chose to abandon his love and their child for a life of crime.

In a related shocker, Baek realizes the error of his ways and all the pain he's caused, even affecting his own son. Instead of killing Tae-in in a final standoff, he turns the gun on himself, ending the cycle of pain he started.

Former Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell is sharing new details about a scary on-camera incident.

During her hometown date on Matt James' season of The Bachelor, which aired in 2021, Kirkconnell was involved in a terrifying crash landing during her skydiving date, slamming into the ground with her instructor at a high rate of speed.

Although Kirkconnell did not appear to be seriously injured on the show and her hometown date continued as normal, she's now revealing what really went down behind the scenes.

In a TikTok posted last week, a creator referenced the accident, saying it never fails to make her laugh.

In the comments, Kirkconnell revealed that the incident wasn't as funny as it may have looked.

"girl it was soooooo much worse than they showed i had black eyes the last two weeks of filming," she said with a laughing emoji.

"i had a concussion and don't remember my hometown or talking to my family later that night. they had to airbrush me for the last 2 weeks of filming bc of what my face looked like," she elaborated in another comment, later revealing that filming was paused for three to four hours while she was checked for internal bleeding.

She then said the aftermath of the incident shown on camera was staged and did not occur immediately after the accident, as viewers were led to believe.

In another comment, Kirkconnell also said she was told by others on set that her instructor broke his ankle during the crash landing, but she was "not allowed" to speak to him after the incident.

Kirkconnell described the ordeal as a "truly traumatizing" and a "horrible situation."

Kirkconnell and James met during his season of The Bachelor in 2020. James gave her his final rose, though he chose not to propose. The two briefly split after racially insensitive photos of Kirkconnell resurfaced online, but they reconciled in April 2021 before ultimately ending their relationship in January 2025.

In 1981, two of music's biggest stars came together in the middle of the night to record a love song that would spend more than two months atop the charts.

Diana Ross and Lionel Richie's "Endless Love" began its remarkable nine-week reign at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 15, 1981, 45 years ago this week. It remained there through Oct. 10, ultimately becoming the second-biggest single of the year in the United States.

The song was an enormous success beyond the Hot 100, topping Billboard's R&B and Adult Contemporary charts as well. For three weeks, "Endless Love" simultaneously occupied No. 1 on all three charts.

Decades later, Billboard put an even bigger distinction on the recording, naming Ross and Richie's "Endless Love" the No. 1 biggest duet of all time. In addition to its nine weeks at the summit, the publication noted that the song remained on the Hot 100 for an impressive 27 weeks.

But the recording that became such a massive hit came together during a decidedly unconventional studio session.

Richie originally became involved with "Endless Love" after director Franco Zeffirelli commissioned him to create music for the 1981 romantic drama of the same name, starring Brooke Shields, Martin Hewitt and Shirley Knight, plus a string of then-unknown actors including James Spader, Tom Cruise, Jami Gertz and Ian Ziering.

The plan evolved considerably along the way. Zeffirelli initially wanted an instrumental theme before deciding it needed lyrics and suggesting Ross as the female vocalist. When Richie was subsequently told it should be a duet, he volunteered to sing the male part himself.

Getting the two stars into the same room wasn't quite so simple.

Ross and Richie ultimately recorded their vocals together during a late-night session in Reno, Nev., where Ross had performed just a few hours earlier. The session began at approximately 3 a.m.

Despite the unusual hour, they had created a recording that would become a career milestone for both singers.

"Endless Love" was released as a single on June 26, 1981, and its success carried particular significance for Ross and Richie. It was Ross' final hit for Motown before her move to RCA Records, while it marked Richie's first single as a solo artist as he moved toward a career outside the Commodores.

The middle-of-the-night recording session produced a song that didn't merely become a hit. By several measures, it made Motown history.

In "The Billboard Book of Number One Hits," music historian Fred Bronson said that "Endless Love" is the most successful Motown single of all time, it was (at the time) the most successful soundtrack single of all time and it was the most successful duet of all time.

Its nine-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 certainly helped earn those distinctions. The song became the best-selling single of Ross' career and her sixth and final solo No. 1. For Richie, meanwhile, it was his first No. 1 as a solo artist and the beginning of a run of major solo hits throughout the 1980s.

The song went on to earn an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song, while Ross and Richie received Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. Richie was also nominated for Song of the Year. At the 1982 American Music Awards, Ross and Richie won both Favorite Pop/Rock Song and Favorite Soul/R&B Song for "Endless Love."

The song proved irresistible to another pair of powerhouse singers in 1994, when Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey recorded their own version. Their "Endless Love" came tantalizingly close to repeating the original's success, peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100. It became Vandross' highest-charting pop hit and Carey's 12th Top 10 single.

Richie returned to the song decades later as well, recording a new version of the duet with Shania Twain for his 2012 album Tuskegee.

But it is the original 1981 recording, captured with Ross and Richie together in the studio at an hour when most people were asleep, that made history. Forty-five years after "Endless Love" began its nine-week reign at No. 1, its record as one of pop music's most successful pairings remains formidable.

Taco Bell is bringing back a discontinued fan favorite—but only for one day.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, the fast-food chain is reviving the beloved Quesarito, a quesadilla and burrito rolled into one. The menu item was discontinued in 2023 but returned for a limited time this past winter.

For those who need a refresher, the Quesarito features seasoned beef, premium Latin rice, Chipotle sauce, and reduced-fat sour cream wrapped in a grilled quesadilla loaded with melted cheeses and nacho cheese sauce.

The chain pulled off a similar one-day comeback last week with another discontinued menu favorite, the Meximelt.

How to get a $1 Quesarito from Taco Bell

$1 Quesaritos will be available while supplies last at participating locations through the Taco Bell app or website from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. PT on Aug. 11.

And that's not all—Taco Bell Rewards members can also get a $1 medium drink or regular Freeze through the Taco Bell app that same day.

The Quesarito deal is one of several the chain has rolled out as they try to win customers back after a recent parasite scare.

According to a report published by The New York Times the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked a recent outbreak of cyclosporiasis—a parasitic illness that can cause severe diarrhea—to iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms that was supplied to Taco Bell.

On July 17, the fast-food chain addressed the situation on Instagram, sharing a notes app apology and confirming it had removed the affected produce.

“We want you to hear it from us,” the apology read. “We take your health and safety very seriously and have removed all affected Taylor Farms lettuce from Taco Bell stores. So go ahead and enjoy your Taco Bell today.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) later announced that the Taylor Farms lettuce had falsely tested positive for Cyclospora. Even so, the company said it is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market.

On July 24, Taco Bell thanked fans who stood by them amid the controversy by offering $1 lettuce-free enchiritos all day.

There’s no better feeling than sitting in a dark theater with a large popcorn, candy and a cold, crisp ICEE in hand. Ella Langley has claimed the No. 1 spot on the country music power rankings for an eighth straight month, adding another major milestone to a year already filled with chart records, major awards and a sold-out tour.

The country singer continues to lead the conversation in 2026 as her hit song “Choosin’ Texas” remains one of the biggest country records of the year. 

At the same time, Langley is taking her music on the road with her arena-headlining The Dandelion Tour, which was recently extended with 21 new dates through October.

Langley’s continued No. 1 ranking comes as her music reaches new highs in the United Kingdom and remains a strong force on the U.S. charts.

“Choosin’ Texas” has been at the center of Langley’s rise. The song, released in the fall of 2025, has continued to grow across multiple markets.

In the U.K., the song recently climbed from No. 5 to No. 3 on the Official Singles Chart during its 30th week. It also moved from No. 8 to No. 5 on the Official Streaming Chart.

The rise gives Langley a new career high in both rankings.

“Choosin’ Texas” is also her only top 10 hit on the U.K. Official Singles Chart so far. Her other songs on the chart include “Be Her” and “Weren’t for the Wind.” “Be Her” recently moved up to No. 63, while “Weren’t for the Wind” reached a new peak at No. 87.

The song has also made a major impact in the United States.

“Choosin’ Texas” has spent 16 weeks at No. 1 on the BillboardHot 100. That run has helped make the song one of the defining hits of Langley’s career.

The song also reached 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart before Morgan Wallen’s “Been By Now” moved into the top position. Langley’s run now ties “Choosin’ Texas” with “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber for the fourth-longest reign in the history of the Streaming Songs chart.

Despite losing the streaming chart’s top spot, Langley still holds the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100, keeping Wallen’s new release at No. 2.

Ella Langley Takes Her Chart Success on the Road

Langley’s strong chart performance comes as she prepares for the extended run of The Dandelion Tour.

In June, she announced 21 additional dates for the sold-out tour, extending the trek through Oct. 31. The new leg begins Aug. 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The tour includes major stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and two nights at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Langley will also perform in cities including Oxford, Jacksonville, Tulsa, Lubbock, Des Moines, Lincoln and Saint Paul.

ERNEST, Kameron Marlowe, Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth will appear as rotating support acts.

The tour follows a major awards season for Langley. She swept the ACM Awards, winning every award for which she was nominated. She also earned two American Music Award wins.

Her No. 1, Platinum album Dandelion has produced two of the biggest country records of the year. “Choosin’ Texas” became a 4x Platinum hit and made history as the first song by a woman to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.

“Be Her” has also reached Platinum status and became the fastest solo female song to reach No. 1 at country radio in the last decade.

Langley is also continuing to build her catalog through collaborations. Her duet with Morgan Wallen, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” has remained a major chart hit.

She also reunited with Koe Wetzel for “Jaded,” a song written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt and ERNEST. The pair previously worked together on “That’s Why We Fight,” which was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and served as the lead single from Langley’s 2023 Excuse the Mess EP.

Kansas, one of America’s iconic classic rock bands, is giving music lovers more shows for the highly anticipated 2026 headlining tour.

The five-piece band may be booked and busy this year with a series of shows, but they are surely ending 2026 with a jam-packed fall, unveiling a new run of headline dates.

From the initial 12-date trek, Kansas has added eight more shows across the U.S.

In October, the band will be performing in major cities in California, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, South Dakota and Ohio.

The band, fronted by lead singer Ronnie Platt, will start the headlining trek by the end of September with two shows in Pennsylvania, with visits to Iowa, New Jersey, Connecticut and more before ending the headlining run in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

Following their U.S. tour, Kansas is scheduled to be part of the Cruise to the Edge 2027 in Miami, Florida, in April as headliners alongside Asia, and former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett.

Currently, the band is touring alongside Deep Purple on their North American concert series from August to September.

Joining them as opening act is Jefferson Starship on select dates.

On the other hand, outside the high-energy live concerts, the progressive rock veterans are busy with their solo endeavors.

Phil Ehart, the co-founder and the band’s longtime drummer, released his memoir, I Am Phil, in April 2026. It chronicles his life before the band and his journey of keeping Kansas together for over five decades.

“I didn’t want to write a book that hid behind mythology,” Ehart mentioned in a press release. “This is my story as I lived it—messy, meaningful, and real.”
